In the first Shannon Hall EAH book the first chapter is about Cedar. In the story a bunch a boys gang up on her and force her to say embarrassing things about herself and then taunt her.

I never really thought about it much, but the fact that her curse not only prevents her from lying, but actually forces her to speak when she doesn’t want to answer a question is really horrible.

Edit: not the first book sorry, it’s a part of the short stories in the Once Upon A Time short stories (I thought it was the first because it takes place before the first book)

- maddie sees visions. It happens from time to time. It's really fun and exciting, based on her especially since she never know when it's going to happen ( maddie’s diary)

- dexter was the one who gave raven the dahlia corsage she wore on thronecoming (thronecoming diaries)

- dexter was one of the reasons why raven had the courage to not sign (story book of legends)

- The Legacy Day outfit that Raven receives from her mother almost inspires her to accept her destiny and become evil but it is (again) Dexter who shows her another way is possible.

- darling met the original white knight and also kind of became it because of raven (darling’s diary)

- king charming is a terrible parent FACTS

- queen charming knew all darling’s wrongdoings as princess charming, she was the one who gave darling a book of lady maid marian (semi charming kind of life)

This woman has to be THE worst Mother in the franchise.

She had turned ravens pet into a bone rat right in front of her, She had locked raven in her room every time raven did smt good and had neglected Raven, now you could say she was just another victim of the system or wanted to prepare raven for her destiny like the other parents? But you know what stands out? SHE KNOWS! SHES AWARE! She knows That destiny means NOTHING! She knows that teaching- actually no torturing raven into being evil does fucking nothing she only did it for HER own fucked up delusion.

She had not only manipulated raven in dragon games for her own benefits but also Had hurt Raven’s loved ones, Then also saying herself “she’s going to be just like me because i gave her no choice” how does EAH tik tok see this and still think she’s a better mom than snow white? Yeah snow white isn’t that innocent either in Dragon games but she didn’t poison and hurt Apple’s loved ones!! And then the evil queen praising and saying how proud she is it’s immediately replaced with a “you’re more like me then you realize, like it or not you can’t change your destiny” KNOWING HOW THAT EFFECTS RAVEN!!!

Would also like to add how her Calling raven beautiful always makes me uncomfortable knowing the fact Raven looks identical to her.

Yeah the evil is iconic,interesting and well written but Pls be so fr on her parenting skills.

the most horrible news in the world to me is that there is NO cedar/raven content anywhere??? not on ao3 (okay, one fic, but it was posted yesterday by someone from the discord server who was also outraged that there were no fics), or tiktok, or tumblr, or pinterest, or ffn-- there's no fanart, no edits, no fanfics. GUYS.

so this is my cedar/raven propaganda post.

They're already really close! In between the summers of their freshman and sophomore years, they actually spent time together over the summer:

I'm sure there's a lot more, but this is just from what I remember from the first book, not to mention all the others !! there's not as much Cedar content in the show in general, but in the books, Raven, Maddie, and Cedar were the initial rebel friend group, and I love that for them and I think that if people ship raven/maddie as much as they do, then raven/cedar should ALSO be a big ship. (radar? cedaraven? queenwood?)

The Shannon Hale Ever After High books are basically Raven bi-panicking every five minutes in between existential crises, while Apple’s so far in the closet she’s nearly found Narnia and is also constantly facing existential crises. Except Wonderlandiful World. That’s Cedar, Kitty, Maddie, and Lizzie’s turn to have existential crises.
