A goodbye without tears
You can find the plot here
A/N: Hi!! I'm still alive... after more than a month of inactivity... 😓 Sorry for not posting my content for a while, after I was done with my entry test and tasted a bit of freedom, I realized how burnt-out I truly was. I took a break from literally everything and hung out with my friends and family since I spent the whole summer studying for a thing or another 😅 Anyway, back to the important stuff, this fic was a request... that I took way too long to write... again... (PLEASE FORGIVE MEEE) but I found it really interesting and I related a lot to the scenario, which is why it came out a bit more personal than I wanted. But at the same time I liked it the way it was so I decided to post it like this. Spero vi piaccia 💚🤍❤️ (I hope you enjoy it) Suggestions and support are always appreciated ^_^
DISCLAIMER: This is a tickle fic, if it's not to your taste I don't suggest you read it

"That's it for today, guys" Ukai's loud voice echoed throughout the gym "Make sure to stretch properly, clean up, and then go home and get some rest!" He said before leaving, knowing he had to prepare some meat buns. Everything went as usual, but a little detail made that day different. It was the third-years' last training.
Daichi almost couldn't believe it was really happening. Three years had already passed and he was about to leave his volleyball team. And as chaotic as said team was, he didn't like the idea at all. He just felt like it wasn't the right time.
Sure, Ennoshita was more than ready to become captain, but were Tanaka and Noya ready to become less... hurricane-like? Was Yamaguchi going to find his self-confidence? What about Tsukki? Would he find it in himself to open up to the others? To not talk about Hinata and Kageyama's constant bickering...
There was still so much he could help everyone with, even if he was just supporting them or giving a fatherly advice. But he had to admit to himself that they were going to manage without him, his team was full of capable and motivated guys, they were more than capable of overcoming any kind of hardship. He also had to admit to himself that the one who wasn't ready to that kind of change was him.
"...so I was thinking I could go to university and work somewhere to help my family par fo- hello? Earth to Daichi? Are you even listening?" Suga's scoff brought the (soon-to-be ex) Karasuno captain back to Earth. "Sorry Suga, I spaced out for a second..." He let out an embarrassed chuckle.
The grey-haired guy looked at his teammate with genuine concern in his eyes. "Are you okay? Is there something wrong?" He asked worried.
Daichi glanced for a second at the others, who had started cleaning already, and then told his friend about his worries about that being his last training, having to leave the team, missing the team, missing volleyball in general...
"DAICHIIIII!!!" His train of thoughts got abruptly interrupted by Suga's bonk, which was objectively kind of deserved. It was Mr. Refreshing's duty to help anyone who was feeling down, one way or another, and the whole team knew that.
However, there was still a nostalgic glint in the captain's gaze, and that couldn't be allowed. Sad goodbyes were not accepted at Karasuno Volleyball Team. The gray-haired guy looked around himself for a second. Narita and Kinoshita had already left with Ennoshita because they still had some exams to study for. Noya and Tanaka had to study as well... but they insisted on helping with the cleanup before going. Yachi and Kyoko were gone as well; they wanted to spend some time together since they were going to say goodbye, too.
"Ahem! Guys, gather here for a second." The vice-captain said, waiting for everyone to come. "As you know, this is our last day here." His first sentence was enough to make everyone groan and whine, but he was able to hush them all. "BUT! We don't want it to be a sad goodbye, we want to enjoy this journey until the last second... or at least that's what we agreed upon. However someone is feeling sulky right now. Does anyone have a suggestion to fix this little problem?"
Making sure Daichi wouldn't see him, he wiggled his finger to give his own suggestion to the team. Obviously, they all caught on quickly, especially Hinata and Nishinoya, who immediately pounced on the captain.
The dark-haired guy stumbled backwards, trying to keep the two short guys still, but when Suga and Asahi decided to join the fun, he had no choice but topple to the ground while trying to hold back his laughter. "Guys! What a-ahare you doing? This is- ack! This is nohot necessary!"
"On the contrary, captain, this is exactly what you need." The vice-captain smirked teasingly at him and started poking his stomach. Asahi was keeping his arms pinned above his head with one hand and softly fluttered the fingers of the other one all over his neck and ears, changing sides every time he scrunched his shoulder to protect those spots.
Yamaguchi had managed to drag Tsukki into this, claiming that it was a bonding moment and he would've enjoyed it. They were straddling the captain's calves and squeezed the kneecaps and right above them. It made him kick so much that he almost managed to buck the first-years off a couple of times.
Noya was sitting between Daichi's legs and was squeezing his hips and sides quickly and mercilessly, while Tanaka was helping the vice-captain with the stomach. "Guhuys Ihihi sweheahahar..!" The dark-haired guy quickly dissolved into hiccupy giggles and found it impossible to build a complete sentence. "Ah ah ah," Suga teasingly reprimanded him "no swearing at school." He said while dipping his index finger in the wing spiker's belly button and wiggling around, which elicited some snorts that made everyone laugh out loud.
Obviously Hinata had joined the fun as well; he was getting the right side of the ribcage, having fun with counting the bones and sliding his fingers into every groove. "Oi Kageyama, are you coming?" He yelled, only receiving an annoying scoff in response. But he knew better. "Are you afraid I'm better than you at this?"
The setter glared intensely at him and approached the group (with the faintest blush on his face, according to Hinata). He kneeled by the left side of Daichi's ribcage and attacked, going immediately all out, to which the redhead responded with upping his game as well. "Thihihihis ihihis *snort* Thihihis ihis nohohot ahah- ACK! ahaha cohohompehetihihitiohon..!" The third-year scolded them between his laughter.
However, the other teammates seemed to disagree. Seeing the little competition between the freak-duo made them want to join. Daichi arched his back and tried to squirm as much as he could, which wasn't much since he didn't want to take the risk of hurting anyone. "Yohohou're beheheihing meheahahan nohow!" Whoops... wrong thing to say. The teens smirked evilly and started tickling him harder while teasing him as well!
He couldn't figure out who was saying what, he was too lost in his own laughter to listen carefully. He just heard a mix of voices saying "Tickle tickle tickle..." "Aaaww come on, smile captain" "Hahaha did you just snort?" "Hehehe see? This day must be happy for all of us, now smile for us!" "Who's making you laugh more? Me or that boke?"
Okay, maybe he could figure out who asked that last question, but that wasn't the point. He felt his face become red, and he couldn't even hide behind his hands since Asahi was keeping them pinned. But it wasn't so bad after all... until someone, probably Suga, had the idea of going for his thighs. That made him go berserk.
"BAHAHAHAHAHAHA OHOHOKAHAHAHAY IHIHI GIHIHIVEHE!! IHIHIHIHI GIHIVEHEHEHE PLEHEHEAHASE STAHAHAHAHAHAP!!" He screm at the top of his lungs. His thighs were his absolute worst spot, and he'd been enduring that playful assault for God knows how long; it made him tap out almost immediately.
"Alright, let's let him up." The grey-haired guy told everyone to stop and helped the captain to sit up. He was still giggling and a giddy smile was plastered all over his face. "That... that wahas... absoluhutely ruthless..." he panted "but maybehe I needed that... thahank you guys..." he finished with a chuckle.
"Thank you, Daichi, for being the greatest captain ever and even guiding us all the way to nationals." Suga said with teary eyes. What could he say... even Mr. Refreshing himself wasn't immune to the strange feeling of saying goodbye. He was already feeling nostalgic as well!
"Sugaaa!! We said no tears!" Hinata yelled while tackling him down and going straight for his sides and tummy. "Hihinahataaa! WhaHAHAhat aharehehe yoHOHouhu dohohoIHIhihiHIng?!" The vice-captain broke down into his high-pitched and squeaky laughter. "Hahaha I think I'll join as well... it's true that we said no tears after all." Asahi said approaching to the grey-haired guy, only to lift up Hinata and blow a raspberry on his tummy.
"NAHAHAHA AHAHASAHAHAIHIHI GEHET HIHIHIM NAHAHAT MEHEHEHEHEEE" The tangerine howled, but he was quickly rescued by Noya, who took advantage of Asahi's distraction while he was putting down Hinata to jump on his back and tickle his neck and torso.
Right after he recovered, the redhead pounced on Kageyama, bringing him down. "Bohohokehehe yohou're gohonnahaha gehehet ihihihit!!" He yelled, trying to sound angry and intimidating, before fighting back and darting his hands up into the middle blocker's underarms. "Ihihi'll beheahahat yohohouhu thihis tihihimehehehe Bahahakahageheyahahama!"
In the meanwhile, Suga thought that a certain couple of first-years was missing too much on the fun, so he wrapped an arm around Yamaguchi's shoulders to keep him in place while he scribbled on his tummy with his other hand. "Nononoohohohoho pleheheahaseee" The pinch server's legs gave out and he went to the floor, but he never did anything to actually stop the older guy.
Tanaka decided to help the vice-captain with his mission and went straight after Tsukishima, who desperately tried to not laugh... in vain of course.
Before they knew it, a tickle fight on full scale had blown out in the gym and everyone was laughing their head off.
Daichi glanced at the mess right in front of him before joining. The thought of graduating didn't sound so scary or sad after all, because now he knew he was never truly going to leave his team, or better, his family.

Secret |Tooru Oikawa|
Tumblr media
Part 2
I watched the practice match between Karasuno and Aoba Johsai. I was one of the team managers besides Kiyoko for the boy's volleyball team. This was their first practice match between a school and it just so happened to be a powerhouse. I mostly agreed to be team manager because my brother was the team captain. I was thanking the heavens a certain someone wasn't at the practice match. I know that sounds bad but it was for my own sanity. That person I am dating is the one and only Tooru Oikawa. The pretty boy that all the girls dream of. I watched the game intently, internally laughing at the fact that Kageyama got slammed in the back of the head by Hinata. At least there was some fun at losing the first set.
I passed out water bottles to everyone before the second set started. They were all making fun of Kageyama and cheering Hinata up for messing up the last serve. The boys eventually all calmed down and started walking onto the court. Aoba Johsai started to fall apart in the beginning but picked themselves up. The set ended in a close call with Karasuno winning 25-22.
"Oikawa!!! You're back!" I heard someone say from the other team. I almost dropped the water bottle I was holding, he wasn't supposed to be here. I quickly hid behind Kiyoko who just gave me a confused look. I smiled nervously playing off the internal panic I was having.
"Aha! You're back, how's the ankle?" I heard the coach say
"Never been better"
"Be careful next time"
"I will coach. Sorry"
I can't believe what I'm hearing. He told me he wasn't showing up to his practice games. I see how it is, suddenly showing up just to show off and provoke the other team. While he was getting told off by his coach I heard our team trash talking.
"He's also twisted, really twisted" I heard Kageyama say.
"More than Tsukishima!"
"Holy crap that's bad"
I sighed in relief when he went to go warm up. Both teams went onto the court and the match started. Karasuno was pulling ahead at 20-24, it seemed like an easy win until they threw Oikawa in the game.
I rolled my eyes hearing his fan girls go crazy over him. It couldn't be helped he's too pretty and charming. I could hear him making comments during the game. I looked directly at Oikawa while he was serving and I guess he saw because he decided to wink in my direction. All the boys on the team looked over making me nervous. Thank god Kiyoko was next to me because Tanaka and Noya started cursing under their breath. In the end, Karasuno ended up winning the game with 2 set wins.
"Good job guys!" I smiled and gave Hinata a high-five and Daichi a hug. "I'm gonna head to the bathroom before we head on the bus!"
"Be quick so we don't leave you!" I heard Daichi yell.
I smiled and walked to the girl's bathroom. I looked down at my phone texting Oikawa about the little stunt he pulled, suddenly it was snatched from my hands. I looked up to see who it was and low and behold it was the man of the hour.
"What the hell Tooru," I said reaching up to grab my phone that he had over his head.
"Aww come on not even a nice hello?" He grinned. "I came all the way to school just to surprise you"
"A heads up would've been nice" I crossed my arms. "Then I wouldn't have been caught off guard."
"Don't act like you don't mind seeing me play"
"I never said I didn't mind plus" I jumped up to grab my phone again and failed. "I've seen you play before"
"That was in middle school"
"That's actually wrong because I had to sneak out last year to see one of your games"
"But I didn't know you were there"
"Because I had to leave so I wouldn't get caught" I sighed. "Give me my phone back I have to board the bus soon"
"But I wanted to hang out more" He jokingly frowned wrapping one of his arms around me still holding my phone in the air.
"Come on someone's gonna see us" I smiled at the sudden action.
"We've been dating for a year and a half now don't you think someone should know by now?" He said softly leaning his face closer to mine.
I took this opportunity and cupped one of his cheeks pulling him into a kiss. The sudden action caught him off guard making him drop his arm holding my phone. I quickly grabbed my phone and pulled away from the kiss.
"Now that's playing dirty," He said as my phone was blowing up from text messages.
"Listen I have to go, trust me I wish I could stay but I can't," I said slipping out of his arms. "I'll call you later"
"Fine just text me when you make it home so I know you did" He put his hand in his pockets sighing.
"Will do" I kissed his cheek and ran back to the court. "Love you!"
"Love you too," He said watching me walk away, little did we know two first years were listening to everything we said.
"Did they say they are dating?" Hinata whispered to Kageyama who was just as thrown off as Hinata.
"Do you think Daichi knows?" Kageyama whispered back.
"I don't think so, Y/n made it sound like no one knows"
"Should we tell Daichi?"
"I dunno... let's just hurry and use the bathroom"
"Sorry there was a line for the bathroom" I lied jogging up to the team smiling. 'I didn't get the chance to go
"Your fine Hinata and Kageyama went to the bathroom right after you left," Daichi said.
"W-what? That's crazy really? And they haven't come back?"
"Maybe there was a line for the boy's bathroom too" Sugawara shrugged.
"Probably"
"We're back" I heard Hinata say.
Both boys stared at me then back to Daichi. They don't know right? The boys looked at each other nodding. They looked back at Daichi.
"Hey, captain can we uh talk to you?" Kageyama said. "Alone?"
Shit.
"Sure but make it quick," Daichi said walking away the two boys following behind. I started to slowly panic.
"So what's up?"
"Well we thought you should know that-"
"Y/n is dating the great king!" Hinata yelled.
"Hinata you dumbass, the whole gym doesn't need to know that!"
"Well, you weren't gonna say it!"
"I was in the middle of talking!" The two boys started bickering as Daichi just stood there processing what Hinata just said.
I yelled Hinata yell something and looked behind me. Daichi looked confused meanwhile Hinata and Kageyama were arguing.
"Y/n? What's wrong?" Kiyoko asked concerned.
"Oh? Huh yeah yeah I'm fine totally fine" I smiled picking at my nails.
"Are you sure? You can talk to me"
"I can assure you everything is fi-"
"Y/n" I heard Daichi say sternly.
'I'm dead'
"Yes?" I coughed looking at my older brother for 2 minutes. "What's up?"
"I think we should talk when we get home"

Chapter Four: The View From the Summit
Tumblr media
Summary: Shōyō Hinata loves volleyball! There is no doubt that all he really thinks about is volleyball. His sister, however, isn’t the same way. Sakura is ready to start her first year of high school at Karasuno with her twin brother and doesn’t really want to do anything, unlike Shōyō. Though she can’t help it when she gets dragged into the antics of the volleyball club.

SAKURA SETTLED HERSELF ON THE GROUND BESIDE the scorekeeper with her camera ready. It's not an official game or anything, but she still wanted to take some pictures of the boys. Might as well as practice taking some pictures for the team, right? So while the guys set up for their match, she got comfy on the ground next to Suga.
The door opened once again, and the stunning third-year manager walked through the door, "Good morning, everybody."
Ennoshita greeted her like a normal person should, "Hello there."
Yet the resident idiot did not. "You're looking as beautiful as ever my dearest Kiyoko!" Tanaka shouted at her like a mad man, only for her to ignore him like usual. Still, despite the girl not doing anything, he still shivered at even being in the same room as her. "Aw, yeah being ignored."
Sakura looked up at the older girl with a blank expression as the black-haired beauty walked over towards the scoreboard. "Oh, morning Kiyoko-senpai."
"Hello, Hinata-chan." She said, "I didn't think you would be here."
Sakura shrugged her thin shoulders and pursed her lips, "Well, nii-san had forced me to wake up early for his practices all week. I want to see how those practices have helped him improve."
"Hey, Kiyoko!" Endo suddenly greeted the manager with a charming smile as he bounded over to the two.
"Hello, Endo," She replied back in aloof voice and then moved away to get ready for the match, effectively ignoring Endo as he approached. Though, unlike Tanaka, her ignorance didn't affect him. He was neither enchanted nor upset that she walked away from him. At least he wasn't as perverted as Tanaka, Sakura thought. The blond looked down at her with a sly smile, "ready to see how well your brother and Kageyama fair in this game, Hinata-chan?"
Sakura's eyebrow twitched at the fact that he called her 'hinata-chan', but she disregarded it for the time being, "I guess."
Endo tilted his head curiously, "aren't you worried about him? He just might lose this match, you know."
She shrugged her shoulders and glanced up at him from the corner of her eyes, "I don't care if he wins or loses. He won't be punished if they do lose, which is all I care about."
Endo eyed the bored girl for a moment and contemplated her reaction. You would think that she would want to see her brother actually win this game. Yet here she was, perfectly content with either outcome. If it were him, Endo would probably be cheering his heart out for his sibling. Then again, he and Sakura didn't really have the same personality, so he wasn't sure what she would do at this match. He could understand her logic about Hinata-kun not being punished if he did lose the game. There wasn't much on the line for the kid besides maybe his pride, and suffering through the humiliation that came with losing a game. Though if she really did care for her brother, wouldn't she want him to win? Isn't that what a sibling is supposed to do? He wouldn't know.
Before he could say anything else to her, his captain grabbed everyone's attention. "Alright, let's get started." Daichi took charge to start the match, "I'll play on Tsukishima's team to make it three-on-three."
Shōyō jumped up with confusion painting his face, "Huh!? Is that fair though?"
The captain chuckled, "Look don't worry, of course, it is. Tanaka has got a lot more attack power than me. I won't go easy on you though."
"Aww, but Daichiiii," Endo whined while leaning against the captain with faux tears running down his face. "I wanted to play against the troublesome duo!"
Hinata and Kageyama bristled and shouted out in annoyance at being called the 'troublesome duo'. Though he wasn't wrong. Daichi sighed loudly and rubbed the bridge of his nose in frustration, "Endo, shut it!" You would think that he would be used to the third-years' antics, but Endo could always be a nuisance when he needed to be.
The blond boy gasped dramatically and pretended to cry into his arm. "You're so mean, captain!"
Tsukishima eyed the strange interaction before clearing his throat and pretending to whisper to Daichi, though he made sure the others could hear him. "Well, ahem, the buzzcut or the shorty, who to crush. I mean, challenge first. So hard to choose, but I do know I want to save his highness for last."
"Uh, Tsukki," Yamaguchi walked over and whispered to his best friend with urgent hesitancy. "They can hear you. Be careful."
"I know genius, I want them to hear me." He rolled his eyes at his best friend, he spoke louder for the others to hear once again. "I can't wait to watch the king fall apart out there."
"Well now," Daichi chuckled, "you've got quite a personality there don't you?"
Sakura scoffed from the sidelines and made sure that the beanpole could hear her, "Yeah, a terrible one." Endo snickered into his hand at her comment as he walked towards the others, finished with his dramatic act. Her words had earned her the pleasure of being on the receiving end of the blond's narrow-eyed glare. She didn't mind it though, she just ignored the burning stare as she lazily leaned on her arms.
Tsukishima's glare hadn't let up on the unaffected girl as he continued to speak, "It'll have to be a pretty great show to top watching him get abandoned by all his loyal subjects last year."
Kageyama's fist clenched at the jabs about his past. While they may be true, he didn't like being reminded of it. After all, it was one of his lowest points as a volleyball player.
"Well, well," Tanaka sang as he walked over to the troublesome duo with a sweet smile. "Did you hear that you guys, they're talking trash now. That jerk better step off..." He then turned around with a menacing expression, "OR HE'S DEAD MEAT!"
"Suga-senpai," Sakura raised an eyebrow at him and looked up at the vice-captain who turned to look at her. "Please tell me he isn't always like this."
The upperclassman sighed, "I'm afraid he is." All she did was groan in displeasure.
The game started with Shōyō, Kageyama, and Tanaka against Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, and Daichi. Sakura honestly didn't care who won this match, despite saying that Tsukishima was going to lose earlier. Sure it would be nice for her brother to win, but if they did lose nothing would really happen to Shōyō. His pride might end up being wounded, but she knew that he would bounce back eventually. The only one who was really at risk was Kageyama, who would not be allowed to be a setter. So she didn't care. Though it would be nice to see Tsukishima's ass handed to him. That would definitely be entertaining.
A few points had already been scored, and at the moment, Kageyama had just set a spike for Tanaka. The second-year easily broke through Tsukishima's block. "YEEAAAAH!! WHOOOHOO!!" Tanaka shouted at his scored point and pulled off his shirt to spin around like it was a lasso.
"Put your shirt on!" Suga shouted at him with annoyance lacing his words.
Ennoshita rolled his eyes, "Yeah, calm down."
"Nobody wants to see that," Kinoshita said.
Endo shook his head, "It wasn't even that impressive!"
Sakura just pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed loudly. God these guys are annoying, she thought. The match continued on with Daichi serving the next ball.
"Front!" Kageyama called.
Tanaka moved to receive the ball confidently, "Got it!"
"Hinata!"
An excited expression blossomed on the short teens face. His first real spike in a high school game! How awesome!!! He couldn't wait to feel the satisfaction of hitting the ball over the net, scoring his first point in a real game. Shōyō jumped up, more than ready to spike the ball, to the surprise of everyone in the room. Seeing a small teen like him able to jump at least a few feet in the air was amazing. Even Kiyoko was stunned by the sight right in front of her. Sakura though was unfazed, as she has seen it a million times before. Though just as Shōyō tried to get it over the net, the extremely tall Tsukishima was there to make a perfect kill.
Shock flooded Shōyō's body as he realized that this was just like middle school. Another wall to block him and keep him from scoring. His twin clicked her tongue. She expected that it would be blocked at some point. After all, you can't really do much against someone as tall as Tsukishima. He's a giant.
"You took me by surprise before," Tsukishima said smugly as his glasses gleamed slightly in the light, "you've got a really nice jump there. Now if only you were about a foot taller you would be a real superstar. Better start taking your vitamins."
On the sidelines, Sakura scowled harshly at the boy. She usually isn't one for showing her emotions, at least externally, but when someone constantly berates her brother, she was definitely going to show her displeasure. What was with this guy and hating on just about everyone? That sadistic bastard certainly got a kick out of it, which Sakura was ashamed to say that she was just about the same. As if knowing what she was thinking, Tsukishima smugly smiled at her as well. Seemingly figuring out that he could get to her by speaking like this to her twin. It almost seemed to amuse him, even more, seeing that he had riled up the other twin, even if it was just a twitch of her brow and a deep frown.
"Whatever, one more. I got this one for sure." Shōyō said in determination before the game continued. He was set a few more spikes, but each time they were blocked by the same smug beanpole. Things certainly weren't going as Shōyō had hoped.
"Blocked again," Suga said, dejected.
Ennoshita nodded his head, "How many times is that?"
"Tanaka's getting a lot through though," Kinoshita said, trying to lighten up the mood.
Though Sakura, ever the Debby-downer, shrugged her shoulders, "the only way they'd actually win is if nii-san is able to get his spikes through. You can't really win a game with only one spiker breaking through blocks."
"Wow," Endo said and leaned on the top of Sakura's head, to her annoyance, "you're quite the pessimist aren't you, Hinata-chan."
"Don't touch me, baka!" She shouted and pushed the poor third-year away, who ended up falling to the ground on his face.
Back on the courts, Tsukishima taunted Kageyama, who did his best to ignore the blond. "You better snap out of it buddy, or you're going to keep getting blocked." Kageyama made sure to keep is back to the giant, not willing to reveal that he was bothered by the jabs. "Why don't you give them one of your royal sets, the kind that wipes out your opponent and your teammates at the same time."
The dark-haired setter flinched a little at the reminder but made sure not to show any other indications that he was affected by those words. "Shut your mouth."
The boys set up for the next service to be made, which Daich called out, "Your serve, Tadashi."
The meek boy took his spot for the serve and hit it... only to have it fall short and hit the net. "Oops," the freckled boy sheepishly said while tubbing the back of his head. "Sorry Tsukki." Endo snickered at the poor boy's misfortune.
"Shake it off," the captain encouraged while Kageyama got ready to serve the ball this time. His jump serve was quite impressive, just like Suga had seen from a few days ago. Sakura had made sure to get at least one shot of him in mid-air. She may not totally like the guy, but he did make a good subject for photos.
He aimed his serve for Daichi, thinking that he might be weak at receives, but found out that their captain can easily make it. Caught off guard by that fact, Tsukishima was easily able to set the ball for Tadashi who spiked it over the net. Shōyō wasn't ready to receive it, so it just hit off of him and out of bounds.
Tanaka walked over to Kageyama, "Steady receives like that are Daichi's specialty. They got mad defense."
"Did you think I would be a weak spot?" The captain asked the first-year with a raised eyebrow. "I may not have as much raw talent as you, but I've been training on receives a lot longer than you have. You won't break through that easily."
Okay, even Sakura had to admit, Daichi sounded cool.
"Your grace, shouldn't you be taking this seriously?" Once again, Tsukishima took the time to call out Kageyama.
Endo did his best to hide his small smile. The sight of drama was something that he lived for! Seeing this, gave him such good entertainment. It would be even better if he could interject himself into it. Causing drama and being involved with it was what he thrived on. Though there was no way he'd really get to get in on the action. This was just between the first-years and whatever beef they have with each other.
Shōyō walked up to the net and glared at Tsukishima, "Dude, what's the matter with you? Why do you have to keep picking on the guy? Chill out with the frickin nickname."
"What for?" The blond scoffed, "Don't you know why everybody started calling him the "King of the Court"?"
The ball of sunshine furrowed his eyebrows. "I just thought his enemies called him that because he's a really good player and well everybody so afraid of him."
Tsukishima laughed at his stupidity and naivety, "That's a common misunderstanding but it's just not true. Well, if the rumors are to be believed then his nickname, "King of the Court", was given to him by the other players of Kitagawa First. Yeah, that's right by his own teammates. The truth is they were not paying him a compliment but calling him a tyrant." Endo was eating all of this up, if only he had some popcorn. "I've been hearing about it for a long time, but now that I've seen him play, I'm convinced. He got benched at the finals because he was a domineering, power-tripping, dictator. That's why you won't try a quick attack, you're shaken up by what happened that day."
There was a short moment of silence as everyone took that it. They knew that Kageyama could be full of himself and abrasive to others when they played, but they didn't really think it was that bad. Meanwhile, Kageyama was remembering that faithful game. How he snapped at his team and ended up with a mutiny at match point for their opponents. Being put on the bench was probably the worst feeling for anyone, especially someone as passionate about volleyball like him.
"Wow," Sakura spoke up and couldn't help the humorless chuckle pass her lips. Tsukishima glanced at her from the corner of his eye, with his smug smirk still on his lips. She must be surprised by the truth, which is understandable. The orange-haired girl didn't seem smart enough to realize the truth. Though she just flashed him a fake smile with annoyance shining in her eyes. "I didn't think anyone could be a bigger jerk than Kageyama. Congrats." Tsukishima glared heatedly before he scoffed at her. Of course, she didn't see the point of what he was saying. She really was just as idiotic as her brother.
"You know what," Tanaka said approaching the net to glare at the bully, "I've had enough of your smarmy ass-"
"Tanaka." Daichi reprimanded him, which only made the second-year pout slightly.
"Well, why bother setting if there's no one there to spike it?"
"You're right," Kageyama started solemnly, "The thought of no one being there to back me up, it terrifies me, alright?"
Admitting that must be a big step for Kageyama, Sakura realized. Talking about your flaws was not usually an easy task. So for him to say that, he was certainly improving himself. Perhaps Kageyama wasn't going to try to be "The King of the Court" anymore, thank god. High school is the time for reinventing yourself, after all.
"Yeah, but that was back in middle school," Shōyō said innocently, surprising Kageyama. "Your sets are going to reach me. No question about it. After that, the only problem is how to get passed this jerk hole." He said pointing to Tsukishima and earning a snicker from Daichi, Tanaka, and Endo. Though a shake of the head from Sakura, she would have thought he would come up with a better insult, had she taught him nothing? "You need to kick Tsukishima's ass, join the volleyball club, and become the setter, just like we planned. Then you have to send the ball to me, it's not that complicated."
As uplifting as Shōyō's words might have been, they didn't impress Tsukishima. "Oh, shut up. That over-the-top, annoying little attitude of yours is disgusting." He took the ball and got ready to serve it. His words were starting to rub just about everyone the wrong way. Nobody knew why he was being so... mean to his opponents. "And enthusiasm won't make you any taller. If you think trying hard is all it takes to succeed you're sorry mistaken."
The ball was served, and Tanaka received the ball. As it flew through the air, heading straight for Kageyama, Tanaka and Shōyō both called for it. Who would he set it to? Tanaka may be able to get it through even if he is blocked, thanks to his power. Hinata would most likely not get it through, seeing as he hasn't gotten one during this entire game. Who was the better choice in this situation?
"Kageyama!" Shōyō's voice broke through his contemplation. He turned his eyes up to see the small teen already in mid-air ready to hit a spike, "I'm here!"
Making up his mind he easily tossed the ball to Shōyō to hit it, which he did. It wasn't a powerful hit, but it still got over the net, to the surprise of everyone. He landed back on the ground happy with himself but still dejected, "That was close, almost jumped at nothing... but it's out."
"What the hell was that for?!" Kageyama shouted at him.
"The ball came right towards me!" Shōyō shouted, surprising Kageyama into silence, "I don't care what happened in middle school, I'm grateful for any set that comes my way, I just want the ball. I'll jump anywhere. I'll hit any ball. Believe me, give me set and I'll hit it."
Tanaka rushed up to them with wide eyes. "You guys can do quick attacks and didn't tell me!"
"What's that?" Shōyō tilted his head in confusion.
"That crazy fast attack you just did!"
"Uh-uh," he shook his head, "no, the only attacks I've hit were way up in the air."
Tanaka groaned, "You literally just did it. Look remember in middle school when that rookie setter mess up that set but you hit it anyway? Like that!"
"Huh? But I don't remember how I did it. Whatever, I'll still hit whatever set comes at me. You just wait and see!"
On the sidelines, Endo leaned down to Sakura. He made sure this time that he didn't touch her, as he didn't want to end up bruised. "That brother of yours is sure something huh, Hinata-chan."
Sakura huffed at him, "Stop calling me 'Hinata-chan', you nuisance."
"You've never done combos before, so that's impossible for you."
Lightning struck behind Shōyō in shock. How could he just say something like that?! "Don't be ridiculous, you don't get to act like a wimp just stop it!"
Kageyama just glanced at him, indifferent, before walking off. Tsukishima chuckled and called after him, "Not very regal of you, sire."
Shōyō blanched and glared at Tsukishima, "You're going to pay for that, I promise you."
"Look at that, getting all bent out of shape again." He looked down at the short player with a small smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. It seemed like all he ever did was smirk, and it infuriated a few people. "You can't just bulldoze your way through everything, you know that right? Not everyone is a good fit for every job you know. I mean, you're clearly not cut out to be a spiker."
Sakura grounded her teeth together while clenching her fist. Oh, if only she had a volleyball to throw at this jerkwad. Seeing her anger start to boil over, Suga bent down slightly and placed a soft hand on the top of her head, to hopefully calm her down. Though all it did was cause her to stiffen up at the sudden touch. Did he not hear her with Endo a few minutes ago?! She didn't lash out at him though, as she figured he wasn't doing for the same reason as Endo. Still, she didn't totally appreciate it. The sentiment of calming her down was nice and all, but she'd rather go without the touching part.
"You're right, in middle school, even now, no matter how much I jump I always get blocked." Shōyō admitted, "Height is important for volleyball you can't always just jump real high to make up for being short like me, but still that never stopped me from wanting to be a spiker." He remembered the awe that came from watching the Tiny Giant, the way that he amazed his twin with his jumps when he first tried to play. He liked that feeling, the satisfaction that came with surprising people, especially his sister. You could argue that she was one of the main reasons he wanted to succeed so well, along with becoming the next Tiny Giant. "I don't care whether I'm cut out for it or not, I'll do the best I can with what I got and I'll win. I'm on this court and I'm not going anywhere."
Tsukishima let out a breath in frustration, "Have you even listened to a word I've said. It doesn't really work that way, shorty. You can't substitute spirit with height unless you want to be a libero that is."
"I open up the wall and block the spiker," Kageyama, who had been quiet since this little spat between Shōyō and Tsukishima started, walked over to stand side-by-side with Shōyō. He spoke firmly to them, he was obviously passionate about this. "That's the setter's job."
Everyone else in the gym watched as Kageyama pushed Shōyō's head down and started to talk with him. Most likely discussing their plan of action for the rest of the game. Eventually, Tanaka was dragged into it as well, so he would know what exactly it was that his team was thinking. Surprisingly, even Sakura was interested in what they were talking about, though obviously couldn't hear them.
Once the boys finished their huddle, Tsukishima set up to serve the next ball which was easily received by Shōyō. He was ready to spike the ball like last time, though this time around it wasn't going to be as weak or out of bounds as the first. Yet he wasn't ready for how fast Kageyama had set the ball. He completely missed hitting the quick set. Shōyō landed on the ground with the volleyball falling lifelessly to the ground a few feet from him.
"How'd you miss that! You have to-" Kageyama started to shout but cut himself off from probably insulting Shōyō and bit his lip. He seemed to have learned from the past and didn't wanna risk repeating it. Shouting at Shōyō would only result in a mutiny, once again. Kageyama certainly didn't want that to happen again.
Tsukishima chuckled at his opponents' misfortune, "Nice ball, your highness."
"Nothing ever works out on the first try!" The setter exclaimed in frustration.
"Hey, that's what losers say."
The troublesome duo still kept trying to get their hit right. Though each and every time, Kageyama's sets were a bit too fast for Shōyō to hit. On one try, Shōyō had even ended up tangled in the net because he jumped too far. It wasn't working out at all. Though Endo found it quite funny how they easily got frustrated with each other. Still, it probably would be better if he saw this happening to another team. After all, he was going to end up having to work with these two idiots eventually. Endo certainly didn't want to have to deal with this in the middle of a game, that could totally cost them a win. And Endo is all about winning!
"I can't guess your timing at all," Shōyō miserably said.
"You have lightning-fast reflexes," Kageyama shouted, "you just need to give it more pow, more oomph!"
Shōyō grew frustrated, "Is it oomph or pow, make up your mind!"
"Don't get caught up in the terminology!" Tanaka jumped in between the two.
On the other side of the court, Suga picked up the discarded volleyball and walked over to the fellow setter. "Kageyama, you need to make sure you don't let history repeat itself." He gained all of their attention, "Uh, what I mean is uh-"
Kageyama pointed at Shōyō, "He's got super fast reflexes, and he can jump, he can learn how to quick attack."
"That's not really what I'm getting at though." The third-year shook his head, "I think I know how you guys can be more effective. Hinata doesn't really know what he's doing out there."
At those words, Shōyō deflated slightly, "That's kind of harsh."
Suga continued on, "He doesn't have technique or experience like a lot of the people you competed against in middle school. But he's a rare asset."
The orange-haired boy's mood spiked happily at being called a "rare asset". His ego certainly got a bit of a boost at that. Who wouldn't be empowered after having their senpai call them an asset like that? "Ah, really? Aw come on, I'm not like a genius or anything."
Tanaka turned to him with a bland expression, "Who said that?"
"If I had your skill..." Suga continued on in a strained voice, "I mean think about it maybe you should try adapting to more of Hinata-kun's characteristics instead of the other way around. Don't you see what I'm saying? Then, maybe-"
"Take it easy Suga," Tanaka tried to calm his friend down.
"It's up to you to use his talents more effectively!" The silver-haired teen exclaimed, "I'm a setter like you, so I was honestly a little freaked out when I saw you play last year. You've got incredible talent and control over the ball. But most of all you're good at analyzing the opponents blocking moves and you make decisions on the fly. I've got... none of those things."
"Don't you say crap like that!" Tanaka exclaimed, not putting up with how Suga was putting himself down.
Daichi stopped him, already seeing how Suga was trying to help, "Hold on, just let him talk, okay?"
Suga continued on with his pep talk for the younger boy, "You're good at what you do and almost have too much determination. But your ability to assess your surroundings is your most important skill. So pay closer attention to your allies!"
Suga then walked back off of the court to let the boys discuss their plan. Hopefully, his words had sunk into Kageyama. This could help them significantly if they figured it out correctly. Endo patted him on the shoulder with a large smile, "Good job, vice-captain! Such wisdom!"
Sakura tilted her head as she watched her brother and Kageyama talk with each other. While she couldn't hear them that well, she figured that they were going to work together to the best of their ability. If there was one thing for certain, she knew that when posed with a challenge, both Kageyama and Shōyō would rise to it. The two of them were extremely competitive, to an annoying degree.
So the service was set by Daichi and easily received by Tanaka. In the zone, Kageyama assessed his surroundings and was ready to make the most precise toss to Shōyō as he could. He calculated everything perfectly and set the ball at an amazing speed. It only took a split second, but the ball was suddenly hitting the ground on the other side of the court. Everyone stared in awe at the turn of events. It actually worked?
The small spiker stared at his hand as it became a slight pink and stung a bit. "I... touched the ball!" Shōyō exclaimed and started to laugh hysterically and turned to Sakura, "Did you see that imouto!!"
"It wasn't that great," Tsukishima said lamely. Honestly, what was so amazing about just hitting the ball over the net. These simpletons were awed by anything.
"Guys," Daichi walked over with wide eyes and an expression of terrified awe, "he just did that with his eyes closed." Everyone jumped in surprise at that fact. Closed!? His eyes were closed? How in the name of kami had those two been able to do that?! What kind of madness was this! Daich went on to explain further, "From the moment his feet left the floor to the second he swung his arm, Hinata-kun's eyes were closed. Kageyama just made a pin-point toss into his hand, but Hinata-kun wasn't even looking at the ball! I don't know how he did it, but his timing was perfect."
During his explanation, Shōyō just continued to laugh in amazement. That feeling in his hand brought him such joy and accomplishment! "That's awesome! You guys, I don't know what happened but I just hit something! Did you see that? Huh!"
Kageyama spun to him and pointed at his with wide eyes, "Hey, what did you do? Your eyes weren't really shut, were they!?"
"Um, well you're the one who told me not to look at the ball," Shōyō explained sheepishly. "If I kept my eyes open I knew I would look at it."
"I wasn't telling you to-"
"But... but it worked, right? What's the big deal?"
"I know it worked but-" Kageyama started off in frustration, "what kind of person acts totally on trust?"
"I can't help it! Trust is the only way I know how to do it!"
Sakura shook her head at the question. It may seem impossible, but that's just what Shōyō is like. She may have not been as surprised by that, but that may just be because she grew up with him. Sakura has never known her brother to be any other way. A scense of trust that she could never have. He was different from her, in every way.
So the game continued on, with more failed attempts by Kageyama and Shōyō. It almost seemed like their magical quick attack was a one-time thing. Kageyama set the ball for him once again, though this time it was too far from the net and ended up hitting Shōyō in the face. "Sorry," he apologized to the fallen teen who now had a red cheek.
On the sidelines, Ennoshita shook his head as he added a point to Tsukishima's team, bring the score to 22-15. "Hmm, I guess that first time was a fluke."
"Yeah," Suga said with a hand on his chin in thought, "but I can tell their precision is already starting to improve."
"You really think so?" Ennoshia asked his upperclassmen shakily like he couldn't believe that. Sure the attack was pretty cool, but it certainly isn't consistent. They have yet to hit it even more than once.
"Doing good, Hinata-kun!" Endo cheered for the shorter teen and aimed a cheeky smile down at him, "just hit the ball with her hand, not your face."
"Yeah, I know." Shōyō said sarcastically and started to clean the floor while holding his bruised face, "That hurt."
The manager walked over to the boy in slight concern and bent down to him, "Are you okay?"
"Ah, y-yes ma'am!" Shōyō exclaimed at her appearance and worry over him. Slowly but surely his face was starting to turn a bit red in embarrassment. He abruptly looked over to Kageyama who had a slight smile. Though he wasn't smiling at Shōyō's misfortune, he was contemplating how doing this, keeping up with Hinata and the game was actually... Fun. "What are you smiling about this is the second time I've been smack in the face. I'm starting to think you're doing this on purpose. You do know we still have to win right?"
"Of course I do!" He roared and spun around to get ready for the rest of the game.
"Aw man, it's not working," Shōyō whined rubbing his cheek before looking down at his stinging hand.
Sakura walked up to her twin and placed a hand on his shoulder in encouragement. Her camera swayed around her, almost being completely unused. She had taken a few pictures, at least one shot for each of the players, but that was all. After all, she has been pretty invested in the game, whether she wants to say it out loud or not. The outcome didn't matter, but with this developing quick attack, there was no way that Sakura could really look away. "You'll get it nii-san." She squeezed his shoulder before bonking him on the head with her fist, "now kick that beanpole's ass. If you don't, you know I'll make fun of you for it."
Shōyō nodded his head, knowing that she would mercilessly make fun of him for losing this game. She wouldn't usually do that, but this isn't a real game, so she's a tad bit more relaxed with her support for him and how she teases him when he loses. There was a strong spark of determination in his eyes, one that Sakura had seen plenty of times. She knew that he would do it, even if she didn't say anything to him. He was motivated to get this done!
The game continued on with Daichi serving the ball again with it being received by Tanaka. Like lightning, Shōyō ran up towards the net which drew the attention of the two other first-years who were ready to block him if he did try to spike it. There would be no way that he would be able to get through them, so he did what Kageyama had told him to. Go around!
He ran around to the other side of the net, throwing off Tsukishima and Yamaguchi. He may be shorter, but he could get through this. He could get that extra inch, that extra second to get around that gigantic wall. So he closed his eyes and swung his arm back. His hand came in contact with the ball. For a moment, he was able to open up his eyes and look to the other side of the net, just beyond Tsukishima's extended arm. Then he saw it, the view from the summit! It was even more amazing than he would have thought.
It almost felt like it went in slow-motion, for Shōyō at least. Seeing his own hit going over the wall before Tsukishima could block it, Daichi missing it, and the ball hitting the floor, left an amazing feeling in his gut. So it seemed like that new spike wasn't just a fluke.
"Yes!"

Welp it's finally happened 👏🏻
The gangs all here 🙌🏻
The "gang" as in arguably the 6 most ridiculous... 🤔
No... chaotic? Unstable? Interesting!
The 6 most interesting teams around 🤗
Anyways the gangs all here for a impromptu summer training camp 🏕
WHOOOO BRING IT AROUND TOWN FOR TRAINING CAMP 🥳
It's a party... for literally everyone but the managers 🤣
Because there is only 5 of you... dear God you are horribly outnumbered
Fukurodani had two managers and Karasuno has 3
Including the ever popular YN
That's you 😉
And when I mean popular I mean POPULAR
First off, you know how to do your job and you are efficient 👏🏻
Secondly, the way you cheer and praise is beyond compare
Who needs a cheering section when YN exists?
Finally you are not only the most adorable thing to ever walk this planet but you are H. O. T. H O T 👏🏻
Karasuno, Seijoh and Shiratorizawa have all been privy to your gorgeousness daily and at tournaments
Nekoma, Fukurodani and Inarizaki have yet to experience the attraction that is YN LN
But it does not take long for these boys to discover it for themselves
From day one, you're doomed 🤣
The moment you step off the bus, it's like the atmosphere changes and every looks right at you 👁
Like these dummies are oblivious to pretty much everything but the moment a female manager enters the chat
All bets are off 😑
"Damn Karasuno has THREE managers?"- Atsumu
"We could have three managers to if you two idiots weren't on the team"- Suna
But Atsumu and Inarizaki aren't the only one staring
"Hey hey HEY- 😳" -Bokuto says, stopping right in front of you
Akaashi is smirking because he knows its going to be a great camp 😏
"Stop gawking Bokuto!"- Kuroo, who is also gawking
"Speak for yourself Romeo"- Kenma, who is playing his video game, ignoring everyone
"Hey look it's Karasuno's #10 and YN IS HERE"- Tendou, pointing directly at you
"Hello YN"- Ushijima 😐
"YN-CHAN YOU MADE IT- OUCH IWA-CHANNNN"- Oikawa
"STOP SCARING YN SHITTYKAWA"- Iwaizumi
Suna and Kunimi both whip out their phones and make eye contact 👀
It's about to be the start of a beautiful friendship 🥰
"Seriously YN"- Daichi, blaming you for literally breathing
You stand there gaping at him 🧍‍♂️ 👁👄👁
"I've literally done nothing!"- you
"Not entirely true YN"- Suga
Where is Iwaizumi with one of those volleyballs when you need him?
Anyways, you manage to move past the awkward first encounters
Too bad for you, "awkward" and "encounters" are the theme of this trip 😅
First off, practice matches are utterly ridiculous
Not only because of Hinata, Kags, Tanaka, Noya, Yamamoto, Lev, Tendou, Oikawa and the Miya Twins
But mainly because of the captains
Pls ✋️ tell me they aren't in a permanent pissing match for who is the best 😅
Daichi and Kuroo are SO petty
Bokuto and Oikawa just always want to be the best
Kita and Ushijima are constantly having silent staring contests 🤦‍♀️
It's a literal nightmare
And guess in charge of facilitating that nightmare 🙃
Literally Kiyoko threw you under the bus with this one
"I need a volunteer to take notes during captain meetings"- Coach Nekomata
"YN can do it"- Kiyoko
"Hey thanks YN" Yukie, manager from Fukurodani says
"Wait... what?"- you 😃
Oikawa will grab you by the wrist and haul you with them before you can even object
"I've got it handled Oikawa"- Daichi, grabbing you back and yanking you away
Dear God 🤦‍♀️
During the meetings, it's pure chaos
Mostly because Oikawa and Bokuto argue the entire time
And because you accomplish absolutely nothing on your "to discuss" list 🙄
"Ok so we need to talk about rotations- whose playing who?"- you, trying to get the meeting started
"I don't care as long as the teams with more managers let their managers help us less fortunate teams out"- Kuroo
Daichi's neck snaps to Kuroo
"Over my dead body will any of our managers be helping you"- Daichi
"YN you can help us"- Bokuto
"You already have two managers"- Oikawa
"We will trade for YN"- Bokuto
"I say we flip a coin for YN"- Kita
"That's fair"- Ushijima 😐
You've barely started and you've already lost control 🤣
Dead God stop this YN
"Ok since we've accomplished nothing here, I think we need mediation"- you, going to stand up to get a coach
Ukai enters the chat
"Tell Daichi to tell YN that she can help out other teams"- Oikawa
"YN is our manager and we need all three!"- Daichi
"What do you need three for? YN is perfectly capable for helping out multiple teams"- Kita
"I've seen YN's efficiency first hand and she is very capable"- Ushijima 😐
Ukai is actually getting a migraine 😒
"Did you accomplish anything YN?"- Ukai
"Does it look like I did?"- you
Pls Ukai is already regretting this camp 🤣
After an hour, it is decided that you will rotate through the teams to help with things such as towels and water bottle filling
"Each day, YN will be with a different team"- Ukai
"Except Fukurodani"- Kuroo
"What the hell? I want YN too!"- Bokuto, freaking so mad 😠
"You already have two managers!"- Oikawa
"So what? YN wants to watch me do line shots right YN?"- Bokuto
"Umm I mean I can see you do line shots from anywhere Bo"- You
Pls YN you are going to make him cry 🥺
"Fine... FINE! YN you will help Bokuto during individual training, how's that?"- Ukai, trying desperately to just get this over with 🤣
"WHY DOES BOKUTO GET YN ALL TO HIMSELF"- Kuroo and Oikawa in tandem
🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ there is legit no pleasing any of them
"Guys! Please I promise I'll help everyone now can we just move on before we give coach a migraine"- you
"Too late YN"- Ukai, smoking his 10th cigarette 🤣
After the meetings, the captains return to their teams
Daichi is SO mad 🤣🤚🏻
"Dacihi are you ok?"- you
Daichi 👉🏻😡😤 IM FINE YN-
Bokuto is so ready to blaze through these games so he can have you to himself
Akaashi is going to be so freaking happy 🤣
Kuroo and Oikawa are already planning how they can monopolize your time
Ushijima and Kita are just thankful for the help 😅
Seriously they think you're cute but like, any help they can get is so appreciated
Nevertheless you resign yourself to your fate and stride forwards YN
I mean, how bad can it really be?
The answer is VERY bad 😅
So let's start Day 1 off strong shall we 👀
Not sure if I would consider Oikawa "strong" but Iwaizumi is 😏
And arguably looking at Iwaizumi, Makki and Mattsun is going to be the best part of being Seijoh's Manager
Please Oikawa literally drags you away to present you to Seijoh like a trophy 🏆
"This is YN my our manager for the day"- Oikawa
"I'm sorry in advance YN"- Iwaizumi
"No worries! Do you want me to fill up water bottles for you guys?"- you
"YN come watch me serve!"- Oikawa
"Uhh Oikawa I can watch you serve after"- you, being perfectly reasonable
"BUT YN-CHAN 😭"- Oikawa
"Shut up shittykawa! You are ruining this"- Iwaizumi throwing a cannon volleyball at Oikawa
You watch in horror as Oikawa falls to the floor
Pls you are basically holding back the laugher 🤣
"Omg is he ok?"- You
"Don't worry YN, this happens daily. I'm pretty sure his head is use to it by now"- Makki
"Here we will help you fill up water bottles"- Mattsun, grabbing your hand and pulling you to the fountains
Please these boys are so happy you exist 😭
During their practice match with Karasuno, Oikawa will always take jabs whenever he can
"Karasuno is looking pretty stiff must be because they are nervous to be playing us"- Oikawa 💅
"Or its because you keep bothering their manager"- Kunimi
"I'm not bother YN! YN I'm not bothering you right?"- Oikawa
"Yep"- you, short and to the point 🙄
Please we shouldn't give Oikawa an inch to work with
Unfortunately that mentality doesn't always work
Oikawa is up to serve and his powerful serve lands a service Ace right one the end line
"HOLY CRAP OIKAWA THAT WAS AN AMAZING SHOT"- you, screaming and jumping up and down
Be careful YN 😶
Too late 🤣
Karasuno is furious at how excited you are 😤
Daichi, Noya and Asahi are ready to receive anything
Iwaizumi, Mattsun and Makki are so freaking jealous pls 🤚🏻
They will work 10 times harder for even an ounce of YN's praise 😫
After the match, you finish up your time with Seijoh
"Thanks for having me as your manager guys! I had so much fun"- you 🤗
Please you give them all a hug and holy crap they all die 😢
No way are they ready to let you go YN
Unfortunately for you, duty calls and it's now indidual training time 🏐
The second the coach's announce the practice games are over
You are practically mauled by Bokuto
"YN LETS GOOOOOO"- Bokuto
Akaashi is rolling his eyes
Kuroo, Lev, Tsukki and Hinata are all ready to roll
Daichi told Tsukki and Hinata to keep an eye on you
Hinata was all for it
Tsukki could care less because he knows you can handle yourself 💅
"Why are you even here?!?" Bokuto, mad that anyone but you and Akaashi are practicing with him
"We are playing 3 on 3 Bokuto. You didn't really think you'd get YN all to yourself did you"- Kuroo 😼
"ITS MY YN TIME- Bokuto
"Then why is Akaashi here?"- Tsukki
"To make sure Bokuto doesn't kill YN"- Akaashi
This is getting out of hand YN, stop it
"Bokuto come on sweetie! You have to show me those line shots remember"- you
Pls YN Bokuto forget anyone existed when you called him "sweetie"
He's ready to propose on the spot
At practice, Bokuto will literally pull out all the stops
"YN DID YOU SEE THAT CUT SHOT!"
"YN THAT LINE SHOT WAS RIGHT ON THE LINE"
"YN DID YOU SEE HOW MY FAINT TRICKED TSUKKI?"
"Yes Bokuto! You are so awesome!"- you 😍
Everyone let's Bokuto have his fun until Hinata 🎇unintentionally 🎇 ruins it 🤣
We all know he's been working on his receiving and when he pulls off a wicked receive, you lose your ever loving MIND 🤯
"HINATA OH MY GOD YOU DID IT! THAT RECEIVE WAS SPECTACULAR" you, screaming and celebrating your teammates victory
Akaashi is just like 👁➖️👁
He knows what's coming 😅
"It wasn't that great of a receive"- Bokuto, now murmering to himself
Literally him 👇🏻
Tumblr media
Kuroo is smirking because Bokuto is all fired up now
"I'll show him how a receive is done"- Bokuto
"Stay calm Bokuto"- Akaashi
"I AM CALM"- Bokuto
I couldn't resist using it 😭
However, as we've all learned countless times, Bokuto is not calm 😅

my general masterlist
Tumblr media
You could feel his presence from across the dining hall, immediately dowsing you in a raging hatred that you only reserved for him. His arrogance mocked you as he basically danced into the Great Hall bathed in compliments.
The Gryffindor quidditch team won against Ravenclaw the night before. You didn’t know why he had all of the glory... he wasn’t even the captain. Being keeper had its perks, you guessed.
You rolled your eyes and focused your attention to your food. You tried not to stab the plate as you heard the varying praises to the boy in red and gold. “Congrats, Iwa!” and “That last block was brilliant!” nearly made you want to choke.
Hajime Iwaizumi was simply not someone who deserved such compliments. He was vile, annoying, and did everything in his limited power to poke and prod at every single one of your nerves. You used to ignore your burning hatred that you harbored for him; but late in your second year, you had let it all out.
And, as it turned out, he wasn’t quite fond of you either.
It had been years since then, yet the feelings remained the same. It was just the start of your sixth year and you already wanted to gouge his eyes out with the pointy end of your fork.
Tooru Oikawa caught your gaze and sent you a cheeky smile. You wished that you could hate the captain as much as his keeper, but you only let your hatred for him simmer for so long. He was quite fun when he wasn’t next to the little shit.
“Just wait for next week when you verse Slytherin! You’re sure to win!” a small Gryffindor told them.
“I wouldn’t be too sure.” You said, perhaps a bit too loudly. You lacked volume control, after all.
“What was that, Slytherin?” Iwaizumi turned to you. His gaze was fire on your skin and you wanted nothing but to catch him aflame as well.
“Your arrogance and cockiness proceeds even you.” You said, voice monotone and venomous against the recent silence at your speech. “I wouldn’t be too sure of your success.”
“Say that again after the match.” Iwaizumi turned back to accept another compliment and find a place to sit at his house’s table.
You wondered if you would get expelled if an apple happened to launch out of your hands and land on the back of his head.
Tumblr media
Late in your second year, you had enough of Hajime Iwaizumi.
The both of you were in a silent competition the minute you were introduced to each other in your first year. It was never anything serious, just two eleven year olds who liked to be at the top.
It wasn’t until your second year that you started to feel genuine distaste for him. You had buried the thought of “hate” for a long time, masking it to be annoyance and opposition.
The hatred was much deeper than a surface burn.
It was during charms class that you finally snapped.
It was not more than the simple mutter of his breath. It was a mispronunciation of the spell and the tap of his wand against the table that made you lose your control.
“Hajime! Can you please, for the love of Merlin, shut the fuck up!” The harsh language created a tense silence through the classroom. No twelve year old had the balls to curse that hard in front of that many people, including a professor. “If you are going to be an idiot, at least try to hide it.”
Hajime Iwaizumi turned in his seat to face you, irritation and vexation easily overpowering his shock.
“Funny that you’re saying that.” He said.
“You’re so ridiculous.” You rolled your eyes. “Oh, I’m Hajime Iwaizumi and I am a perfect student that can’t even properly pronounce a simple spell! But that doesn’t matter because guess who’s a keeper for the quidditch team when I’m only a second year!! I am perfect!! Literally no one likes you.”
“Trust me, no one likes you either.”
No one meaning, and translating to, I don’t.
Just to show off, you easily cast the charm that he had failed. Charms was your strong subject, so you only needed to say the spell and flick your wand before turning your attention back to him.
He was nearly smoking from his ears, he was both embarrassed and livid.
Tumblr media
You waved to Kei Tsukishima as you caught his gaze from the side of the hall. He was a fellow Slytherin and a good friend, though neither of you would admit that to each other.
He nodded as his greeting. He shoved his book back into his bag as you made your way to his side.
“Hey, Tsukki.” You said. “I wasn’t expecting to see you until practice tomorrow.”
“Yeah, I’m waiting for Yamaguchi.” He turned his body to lean against the wall. “We’re going to Hogsmeade today.”
“No invitation?”
He sighed. “Would you like to join us, Captain?”
“I was joking, no need to sound so enthusiastic.” You chuckled. As you started to speak again, Tadashi Yamaguchi left the classroom the two of you stood outside of. He smiled at you, his green and white reflecting off of his eyes.
“Captain!” Yamaguchi greeted, putting an arm around your shoulder. “Are you coming to Hogsmeade with us?”
“Be careful, the idiots are coming.” Tsukishima interrupted and warned, motioning over your shoulder.
You turned around to find Oikawa and Iwaizumi walking next to each other, laughing about something only the two of them knew. You had to hold back from making a comment.
“Yoohoo!” Tooru Oikawa caught your eye. You sighed and turned back to your fellow Slytherins, sharing a look.
“Hello, Tooru.” You felt him beside you before you looked.
You purposely didn’t look at Iwaizumi.
“We’re celebrating our win tonight, you guys should join!” Oikawa invited. You heard Iwaizumi’s exhale of frustration, but you only rolled your eyes in an attempt to ignore his presence.
“You want a group of Slytherins hanging out with you, celebrating your win, when we go against you in less than a week?” Tsukishima spoke up. He moved off of the wall. “No thanks. Come, Yamaguchi. Let’s go.”
Yamaguchi waved goodbye and followed his best friend down the hall. You pivoted to fully face the two Gryffindors.
“I’ll come.” You said, mainly out of spite.
Tumblr media
Tooru Oikawa was naturally outgoing. He was the captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team, a flirt, and all together a pretty chill person. You didn’t mind calling him a friend, despite the vast differences between you two.
One vast difference being his best friend.
Which is why you found yourself next to him as soon as you entered the Gryffindor party. The cascades of burgundy and gold created a deep atmosphere in the hidden room, lights dancing along the dark walls and the smell of various alcohols filled the air. It was a Gryffindor party, that much was true.
You were one of the very few Slytherins that occupied the room. Your eyes caught sight of only a couple, most of them much younger than you and just happy to be at one of their first few parties.
“Oi, a snake has crawled into the winner’s common room.” Oikawa joked as he handed you a can. You accepted.
“A snake in a lion’s den, I wonder who will win.” You quipped.
“The lion, for sure.”
“I wouldn’t be too sure. Snakes can eat things 100 percent their size.” You raised a brow and opened your can.
“Hm,” Oikawa looked over his shoulder and called out for someone you didn’t see. “Hey! Who do you think would win, a lion or a snake?”
“A lion obviously.” It was Hajime Iwaizumi.
You let out a groan, immediately losing your sense of humor. “Ah, you’ll see in less than a week.”
“I don’t think I will.” Iwaizumi said, stoic and annoyed. “This win was only one of few.”
“I suggest you just celebrate this win.” You took a sip. “Because I don’t think the losing team would like to come to the winner’s party.”
“That just means I will not be seeing you, which is a grand idea.”
Tumblr media
It was the time of year just before winter, where the air starts to cool but the sun still warms your skin. You took a breath and held your broom at your side.
It was near minutes before the anticipated game against Gryffindor, and you could hear the crowds already. The rivalry between your houses was something that everyone enjoyed; the rivalry between you and their keeper was all you.
“Alright team.” You pivoted to the team behind you. “We’re playing Serpent first; and if we don’t get any points within the first two minutes, I’ll hold up the signal for Green. Got it?”
“Got it.”
You had a pretty well-rounded team in your honest opinion. Tsukishima was perfect as your keeper, he was never one to let anything get past him. Your chasers included you, Yamaguchi, and another girl named Yui Michimiya. You had the Miya twins for beaters. And, rather recently, you gained a new seeker named Tobio Kageyama. The same age as your keeper, but only wanted to join quidditch out of hate for the Gryffindor seeker (and who were you to deny that?).
The Gryffindor team was not one to mess with, they had a nice team too. Iwaizumi as the keeper, the Idiots Nishinoya and Tanaka as beaters, their new seeker Shoyo Hinata... but the problem was their chasers: Oikawa, Kiyoko Shimizu, and Wakatoshi Ushijima. They were so quick on their brooms, it was like working against wind.
Today was no day to lose.
“It’s our first official match of the year.” You encouraged. “Let’s show them who not to mess with.”
“Let’s absolutely destroy them.” Atsumu added.
You grinned.
As you headed towards the field, you could feel the adrenaline creeping into your bones. Quidditch had become routine, simple muscle memory as you moved to your starting positions.
The Gryffindor team appeared, and you felt the excitement enter you in a rush of air.
Tumblr media
In the air, Hajime Iwaizumi felt at peace. He was very good at what he did, and he knew that, and the game was something he was passionate about.
He was also passionate about beating you.
You were the bane of his existence. You had never once sent him anything other than something bitter or sarcastic. You were an annoying pest that he simply couldn’t get rid of.
And as you threw the Quaffle into the goal just above his head, Iwaizumi felt his eye twitch.
Tumblr media
Slytherin won, Tobio Kageyama’s hand high with the Snitch inside.
You watched in triumph as the teams descended on the brooms. From the skies down, you cheered.
“Congrats, Slytherin.” Oikawa said, though his tone was bitter and sour.
You knew that he hated losing, so you didn’t push it. He was a friend, after all. Sending him just a small “I’m sorry you didn’t win” smile, you headed to your team. You gathered them into a hug, or rather-- a huddle, and ruffled the hair on Kageyama’s head.
You peeked over your shoulder to catch sight of Iwaizumi. He was standing, hands at his sides, red face and eyes blank of any expression other than anger.
You smirked at him.
Tumblr media
Hajime Iwaizumi was on the other side of the victory this time, silently brooding as he picked at his food in the Great Hall. The Gryffindor table emitted zero volume.
He was pissed off the second you entered the hall, Kei Tsukishima and Tadashi Yamaguchi walking beside you. The green and white seemed to glow, mocking him in the worst way imaginable.
Oikawa tried to bring his attention back to the food, but Iwaizumi was focused primarily on you. You were gloating, relishing in his loss, taking delight in the compliments from your house. A Hufflepuff appeared at your side, and you smiled as you thanked them for their congratulations.
He felt sick.
Tumblr media
You could not help but drown yourself in the triumph. You walked on air, the feeling of superiority tickling every inch of skin it could touch.
You waved goodbye to a couple of friends, heading directly to the Gryffindor table. You placed your hands on Oikawa and Iwaizumi’s shoulders, leaning to place your head right between theirs.
“I suppose the snake beats the lion.” You sent a wink to Iwaizumi, knowing full well how it would provoke him.
“Fuck off.” Iwaizumi shoved your hand off of his shoulder.
“Go receive your praise at the Slytherin table.” Oikawa shooed, fork in hand. “You won’t find it here.”
“Sore losers.” You mocked just for fun. You stood straight. “I imagine that I would be the same, given it were the other way.”
You basically skipped back to your table for breakfast.
Tumblr media
You were absolutely elated for the rest of the day. It was quite similar to being on cloud 9, winning your first game of the year against your rivals. The look on Hajime Iwaizumi’s face only added to the feeling.
You were walking down the hall, talking to a fellow Slytherin girl who had her arm wrapped in yours. She was going on and on about how she wished she could have imprinted Kageyama’s snitch catch to her memory.
That was when your shoulder collided directly into a firm body.
Your arm was ripped away from your classmates, along with your bag that fell onto the hard ground with a loud thud and wisp of parchment and ink. Everything in your bag now scattered the ground, covered in the dark ink and dirt.
Your mood was too high to get too angry. It was an accident; you would bite your tongue and clean up the mess.
Until you realized just who’s shoulder you ran into: Hajime Iwaizumi. Your greatest enemy and now destruction of your contents.
“Watch where you’re going next time, Hajime.” You grunted, kneeling to save some of your parchment before the ink could reach it.
“Perhaps if you had your head out of your ass, you wouldn’t have run into me.” Iwaizumi responded. He had turned to face you midway through your fall.
“As if you didn’t feel this way a week ago.” You told him, standing up. Nearly everything that was in your bag was soaked, including the bag itself. You inhaled deeply. “You did this on purpose, didn’t you?”
“Now, why would I run my shoulder into you on purpose hoping to ruin your mood?” He asked. “You must be very arrogant to think that everything must be about you.”
You clenched your jaw and closed your eyes. “I will not let a piece of shit such as yourself bring my mood down today. Today is a good day.”
You knelt once again to find your essay that you had written for Snape, searching your documents. Only to find it one of the few that were directly under the ink, completely doused in black.
“Actually, fuck you.” You lifted the paper. Ink dripped off and onto the ground. “Do you know how long I worked on this?”
“I don’t know, a couple of minutes?” Iwaizumi shrugged. “You aren’t exactly the best at your schoolwork.”
“You wish you knew me well, but you don’t at all.” You felt anger boil in your chest. “I worked very hard on this essay. Days, even. And you destroyed it in less than five seconds..”
“There’s the Slytherin in you.” He let out a humorless laugh. “You think everything has to be about you, and if it doesn’t than someone is out to get you. Your ego is so fucking enormous that you can’t even muster the idea that maybe something isn’t about you. You didn’t even win, Tobio won the game for you. God, why don’t you go make a friend instead of standing here arguing with me about an accident?”
And then, “You really are a raging bitch, aren’t you?”
The girl that you were talking to had wide eyes, and you were sure that she was ready to fight. A couple of bystanders that were once just listeners started to mumble. And you.... you couldn’t fathom words.
Your feud with him had grown deep, but it had never gone as far as that. In front of a crowd, no less.
It was one thing to make comments, to be bitter and roll your eyes at each other’s presence. It was one thing to bicker, to fight, to joke to friends about the other’s incompetence and purposely pull on each other’s strings.
It was something else completely to call you a bitch in front of everyone in the middle of a hallway after a thread of insults.
You fake smiled, feeling unwanted tears threaten their way to your eyes. You would not allow yourself the angry tears; they would only make you angrier.
“You’re more than just an asshole, Hajime Iwaizumi.” You told him. Because you truly didn’t have any words.
Tumblr media
“Calling a woman a bitch is the worst insult. Those are fighting words.” Oikawa’s older sister used to say. “It’s comparable to calling a man a pussy.”
Hajime Iwaizumi didn’t think much while he spoke. He just said the things as they came, especially when he didn’t really care much about what you thought of him.
But, calling you a bitch... that felt as if it were crossing a line that he didn’t have the authority to cross. And the look on your face after he said it was one that he had never witnessed on you.
At practice, his head still held the image of you.
He was confused. Why did he regret calling you a name? It wasn’t as if the two of you don’t argue in front of people all of the time. In fact, it was nearly a common occurrence.
For some ungodly reason, he felt a tug at his chest.
Tumblr media
“Maybe you should apologize?” Oikawa suggested.
“Why would I apologize to her?”
“Because I think you went a little bit too far.” He told his best friend as truthfully as possible. “Because as much as I think the rivalry between you two is fun, she’s still just a girl. And because my sister said you should.”
“You wrote your sister?”
“Yeah, of course I did.”
Tumblr media
For several days, Hajime Iwaizumi hadn’t seen you. You didn’t eat in the Great Hall, you didn’t come to the classes he had with you, you didn’t go to Hogsmeade like you usually did on weekends.
So, he came to your practice.
He was hoping to apologize. It was something he had never done to you before, and he had practiced it quite a few times. Just a small, “I’m sorry for calling you a bitch in front of everyone.”
Yes. That should be fine and the two of you could go back to the regularly scheduled loathing.
But the second he stepped onto the field, the two beaters stood in front of him.
“I wouldn’t.” Atsumu said, holding his broom. “She’s been in a mood.”
“I know, I’m the reason for that.” Iwaizumi said. “I just want to talk to her. Just a second.”
“I wouldn’t.” Osamu repeated. “Whatever you have to say, it’s gonna have to wait.”
Iwaizumi nodded, looking at the twins. He was going to ask them to tell you that he had been there, ask them to ask you to meet him somewhere or something so he can get the stupid apology off of his chest, when you appeared behind them.
“Get off of my field, Hajime Iwaizumi.” You said. You had been at practice for the past two hours (according to the sign ups), yet your voice was even and you hadn’t even broken a sweat. In fact, your voice spit toxin in his direction.
“I just wanted to...”
You had taken off before he could even say his second word. The twins followed right after.
Tumblr media
Tooru Oikawa took a place beside you. It would have been normal, if it were not for your avid avoidance of anyone with a Gryffindor robe on.
“Hello, Tooru.” You said without sparing him a glance.
The thing was, you weren’t angry with him. You didn’t hate Oikawa, you hated his closest friend. And by association, you didn’t want to talk to him just as much. Oikawa had always been the middle ground between the doom and gloom that was the dark haired man you hated.
“I think you should talk to Iwa.” Oikawa said. Plain and simple, to the point.
“I think you should mind your business.” You retorted. “I never talked to him to begin with, what’s different now?”
“Because now is different.” He grabbed his book as the professor walked in. “Now, you won’t even say your smart ass remarks or tell him how fucked up his hair looks. Now is just... boring and sad.”
“So you want me to talk to the guy I hate in order for you to not be bored?” You scoffed and collected your things. “Truly, you are his best friend.”
You left just as the professor started talking, receiving a few stares in the process. It wasn’t as if you weren’t used to that.
Tumblr media
You were walking with Tsukishima, laughing at your attempts to get him to smile. Your team had really taken your mind and restored your confidence. You figured, as long as you didn’t see the man you hate then he simply didn’t exist. It was that easy.
Until you accidentally caught his eye across the street.
It had been snowing, so most of the students were in their winter gear and warm clothes. You yourself had a hat and scarf on, gloves to cover your hands despite the hot to-go mug of cocoa in them.
Hogsmeade was quite busy with everyone getting last minute holiday gifts and hurrying to hang out before break. Yet, somehow, your eyes found the brown of Iwaizumi’s.
You turned around, forcing Tsukishima to follow. The younger boy didn’t even have to ask about your change in demeanor, easily falling into pace beside you.
You felt a hand on your wrist, and heard your name being called. “Hey. Can I talk to you? I’ve been trying to apologize...”
You stopped dead in your tracks, as if you were pulled on a leash. As if his bare hand touching your empty gloved one had scolded you. Iwaizumi stood before you, red cheeks from either the cold or from rushing after you. Either way, you wanted nothing to do with it.
He had spun you in his grasp, his jaw tight and eyes searching yours before falling to his hand around yours. His grip on your wrist was tight, and he swallowed as his eyes found yours again.
“I don’t want to talk to you.” You snatched your arm away. “Have you ever considered that? I don’t want to talk to you, I don’t want to see you, and I don’t want to hear your half-ass apology!”
“I have been trying to talk to you.” He said. “I...” His eyes scanned yours. His tongue rolled in his mouth. “You mean to tell me that you don’t want my apologies?”
“You’ve made it very clear what you think of me, so I hope that I can make this very clear for you,” You took a deep breath. “I hate you. I don’t like you, I have never liked you, and I hope that whatever it is that is eating you up inside continues to do so.”
Hajime Iwaizumi’s eye twitched. He started to take a step towards you, but decided against it, falling back into the same step. “I don’t...” His voice was nothing as you had ever heard it. “You...” His eyes clouded with the emotions you were familiar with. “Fine.”
“Fine.”
Tumblr media
It was a sudden realization. It was not something you had even considered before, not something planned or reasoned. It was much like a tsunami, a build up of unrelated activity that brought something else entirely.
Emotions were unfortunate things. If you feel extreme emotions for someone, no matter what... they are still very strong feelings.
Hate to love, what a strange concept.
Tumblr media
You held the potion below your nose, inhaling the scent.
“What does it smell like?” Snape asked.
“It smells like... bergamot.” You distinguished the varying smells. “Apple. And... lavender?”
You stepped back and hoped no one could see you connecting the dots through your eyes.
Tumblr media
Tooru Oikawa was an observant person. He was known to be the person who knew the best for his team, easily finding the perfect techniques for each on the field and as encouragement. He was one for connections and relationships.
Which is why he knew that you were masking feelings of something else with this burning hatred. Which is why he knew why you felt so bad after Iwa called you a terrible name in front of an audience. Which is why he knew who it was when you listed your amortentia scents.
He tried to send you a look from his seat across from you, classes later. He wanted to tell you that he knew; that he knew there was something more to what’s going on, and that something was Iwaizumi.
You just sent him a middle finger, knowing full well what he was getting at.
Tumblr media
Your feelings didn’t just suddenly arrive. And you were full of confusion, disorientation, and most of all... anger.
For as long as you could remember, Hajime Iwaizumi was supposed to be your arch enemy. He was your nemesis on a daily basis. He was the reason for your annoyance. He was the reason for your hatred for the colors red and gold. He was the reason you became the quidditch captain. He was the reason for the breath leaving your lungs.
And he was the reason for the breath entering.
You were pissed. You were pissed that you had unrealized feelings for the man you were supposed to hate, have hated for years. You were pissed that your love had been in a game of chess, where the only outcome is to win or forfeit. You were pissed that the entire time you had spent a vast majority of your time hating, loathing, rolling your eyes at... the entire time you had a reserved space for hate, when it should have been quite the opposite.
The luck must have been exclusively for someone else, because it seemed as though whoever created you had decided to have a fun game.
Tumblr media
You had punched Hajime Iwaizumi once.
It was something you thought of a lot, and it was the main reason Iwaizumi chose not to test you too closely to that day.
He was rolling his eyes at something Oikawa was saying when you walked by. You were heading to your quidditch practice, the captain not one for latecomers. And he caught sight of you. He quickly jumped from his spot and stopped you from passing.
“Out of the way, Hajime, I have practice.”
“Oh, right, because you’re on the quidditch team now.”
“I am, thank you very much.” It was the beginning of third year, and you were not only annoyed but you were also a Growing Person going through puberty. You did not have time to deal with a teenage boy pissing you off. “You forget that not everyone got on the team their first year of trying out.”
“Because we’re better than the entire Slytherin team.”
“Talk to me when you win a house cup.” You tried to push past him, but he stood directly in front of you in one step. “Move, or be moved.”
“What are you going to do? Punch me?”
So, you did. Your fist collided with his cheek before you could even register that it had happened. Oikawa gasped out loud, it quickly turning into a laugh.
“She punched you!” Oikawa laughed, grasping at his sides. “Ah man!”
While Iwaizumi touched his cheek to check that— ah yes, you really did punch him— you were already walking away to the practice field.
Tumblr media
Iwaizumi missed you, if he were being fully and completely honest with himself.
He found himself searching for you in classes or in common areas, prepared for your snide remarks and bitter taunts. He found himself waiting for you to roll your eyes at his presence; looking for you to quip about the next quidditch game.
But when none of it came, he felt out of place.
He actually missed your annoyed banter. He missed you shoving your middle finger in his direction. He missed the redness on your cheeks when you would try to calm yourself down. He missed the silence that would escape you if he entered a room and you were anything other than angry.
He missed catching you smiling at someone and watching your face change. He missed the arguments in class. He missed the little comments during eating.
Confused, he pushed those feelings down as he watched you eat with some Ravenclaws and a Hufflepuff that he had never talked to before.
Tumblr media
It had been several weeks of silence from your end. You had thrown yourself back into quidditch before the break, happy to have a distraction from whatever the fuck you were feeling. You weren’t going home for the holidays, so you spent some time planning for the spring and classes.
You found yourself outside, sitting in the snow and writing a make up essay for Snape. You had found a nice spot under a roofed area, so nothing smudged your writing (or, you know, covered it completely).
“Oh.” A voice said from above you.
You looked up to find Iwaizumi, hands in pockets and staring at you as if you had never existed and he was discovering you for the first time.
“I wasn’t expecting to find anyone here.” He said.
“Yeah, obviously neither was I.” You started to put your things away.
“No... no comment?”
“Hm?”
“No... snarky comment? No you look terrible to me?”
You shook your head. Mainly because you didn’t have the energy. You were content, bored, and just overall exhausted. You had exhausted yourself in thinking of every possible outcome to your love for the man in front of you, none of which made any sense.
None of it made any sense.
It was as if one moment, you were standing on ground. And the next, you were swept away by a giant wave that you thought was only an earthquake. You hated love.
“Then, can I finally say what I have been meaning to?”
“No.” You finally got the last of your things into your bag.
“Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why can’t you just hear me out?” He stood in front of you, hoping to stall your leaving. “I’ve been trying to tell you that I shouldn’t have called you a bitch, and I should have...”
“And I don’t want to hear it.”
You started to leave, but he jogged to jump in front of you again. Through the years, he had gained height compared to you. You weren’t necessarily kids anymore, you weren’t at eye level to just punch him in his cheek without reaching for it.
“God, you’re fucking annoying.” You shifted your bag on your shoulders. “You want me to call you a name so it can be even? You want me to tell you that everything is fine and we can go back to our constant fighting? What do you fucking want from me?”
“What do I want from you?” He asked, voice rising to match yours. “What do you want from me? I’ve been trying to get your attention for over a fucking month and you have given me every reason to just stop.”
“Then why don’t you!” You dropped your hands. “Why don’t you just leave me the fuck alone?”
“Why?”
“Why what, Hajime?”
“Why?” Iwaizumi let out a small breath, the grey cloud leaving his lungs. “Why won’t you just let me talk to you for five minutes?”
“Because I don’t want to! Because I don’t want to hear you make up excuses. Because I cannot listen to your voice for too long.”
Before you could stop yourself, before you could recognize your own voice, before any thoughts arrived, you said, “Because for some fucked up god awful reason, I’m in love with you!”
Tumblr media
Everything froze all at once. The oxygen left your lungs, the snow stopped falling, and everything became so unbearably silent.
You stared at him, regret drenching you in an instant as if the tides of the ocean had rose and fell in one single motion. You couldn’t breathe, your heart seized in your chest and against your ribs. You couldn’t bring yourself to look into his face, fearing to find yourself lost and never found.
He let out a single breath. And you held yours.

Tumblr media
Being back in Japan filled you with a familiar, comforting feeling that spread throughout your entire body. The country where you had lived most of your life and been educated from kindergarten to high school in brought back childhood memories that you had not thought about in nearly five years.
And now, here you were, attending the wedding of one of your best friends, whom you hadn't seen in way too long, and surrounded by people who shaped your elementary and teenage years.
It wasn't until the reception that you got to actually catch up with your childhood friends, but the ceremony had certainly gotten you thinking. With the beautiful decorations strewn all over the venue and Kiyoko's breathtaking dress—and the way Tanaka teared up after seeing his future wife coming down the aisle—you had begun to wonder, as one who is still single would, if that would ever be you; all dressed to the nines and ready to devote the rest of your life to one person.
The fact that you were deep in thought must have been visible on your face because it wasn't long after that Kiyoko made her way over, gently placing her hand on your shoulder and asking if you were all right.
Startled out of your internal dilemma, you assured her that you were fine and just caught up with your own thoughts. "Sorry," you apologized with a lighthearted chuckle. "I didn't mean to make you worry about me at your wedding."
Taking a seat beside you at the rather empty guest table—more than happy to get off of her feet after Tanaka had been swinging her around the dance floor for hours—Kiyoko sighed contently and brushed off your concern. "Oh, please, make up something if you must." Kiyoko glanced over her shoulder at her new husband, who was currently preoccupied with something Noya was saying to him. "I need a break. If this is any indication of what the rest of my life is going to be like, I'm going to be eternally exhausted."
You laughed, having completely forgotten about what you had been thinking about. "You chose to marry the boy who spent all three years of high school chasing after you and you're surprised that he's over the moon 24/7?" You cocked a brow at her jokingly. "Don't say you weren't warned."
Kiyoko giggled at that and before long you and your best friend were laughing together just like when you were teenagers. It was like nothing had changed; like the two of you had been transported back in time five years.
"In all seriousness though, are you happy?" you asked her as you grabbed for your champagne flute and took a sip. "Because that's all that matters."
A light dusting of pink rose to Kiyoko's cheeks. "I'm ecstatic." She beamed as she looked back at Tanaka again. "I mean . . . that's my husband!"
"Good. I'm happy that you're happy."
Kiyoko nodded in agreement before turning back to you. "So, when is it going to be your turn?"
You thought about asking her what she could possibly be talking about but there was no fooling Kiyoko; she already knew that you knew. Not a week had gone by since you had moved away where she hadn't asked you if you had found yourself a man yet.
You just rolled your eyes. "I would have to be dating someone first in order to start thinking about getting married."
"Okay, so we start at the beginning." Kiyoko started surveying the gorgeous outdoor reception venue as if you didn't already know pretty much everyone who was there.
You scoffed. "I'm sorry, we?"
"You act like I haven't always been invested in your love life." She waved you off, never taking her eyes off of the bustling crowd. "Anyway, back to what I was saying . . . you need someone with a stable career, handsome, and, most importantly, someone that I approve of."
"Yes . . . most importantly." You took another sip of your drink and let your eyes scan the crowd as well, mostly because there wasn't much else for you to do. Eventually, your gaze settled on a table in the back corner where five men sat, engaged in a conversation with one another. It took you a few minutes to make out the face in the dim lighting, but when you did, you were immediately hit with a wave of nostalgia.
There, in a convenient group, as if they had all collectively been waiting for you to spot them, were five of your dearest friends from high school: the captains from the various boys' volleyball teams. Since you had been the captain for the girls' team at one of the rival schools, the six of you had started as acquaintances who bonded over being captains and soon grew into an inseparable friend group. The only person you had been closer to in high school was Kiyoko.
Sawamura Daichi, Ushijima Wakatoshi, Bokuto Kōtarō, Oikawa Tōru, and Kuroo Tetsurō.
They all looked just like how you remembered and yet you couldn't help but notice from afar the ways that they had matured over the past five years. You had been given a brief chance during the ceremony to say hello to them, and during that brief moment, you weren't ashamed to say you would admit they had all grown into handsome young men (not that any of them had been hard on the eyes in high school by any means.)
"Oh, so we're going for the classic 'high school reunion' trope." Kiyoko's face was suddenly right next to yours, startling you once again. "Which one are you looking at?"
Ripping your eyes away from the group of men who had thankfully not noticed your staring, you shook your head. "It's not like that," you sighed.
"Oh, yeah . . . okay." Kiyoko's tone was dripping with sarcasm. "That's fine, you don't have to choose right now. You could probably have whichever one of them you wanted anyway considering they all had a crush on you in high school."
It had been a big mistake to try and take your final gulp of champagne right then. As soon as you had heard what Kiyoko had said, you jolted in surprise and the alcohol went down the wrong way, causing you to begin coughing and sputtering rather loudly and aggressively.
Of course, that was when the five former captains turned to look at you after hearing the commotion. To be fair, a lot of eyes were on you then as you frantically reached for a napkin to dry the champagne that had spurted out of your mouth and Kiyoko patted your back comfortingly.
"Jesus," you managed to choke out. "Warn someone before you say something like that."
Kiyoko grabbed another napkin and began dabbing at the little wet spot on your dress. "You act like you didn't already know."
"I didn't already know."
Kiyoko looked up at you in shock, her hand ceasing all movement. Thankfully, she had pretty much dried your dress completely by then anyway. "What do you mean you didn't know?" she inquired quizzically, almost like she suspected you of lying.
"What do you mean they all had a crush on me?!" You remembered to lower your voice at the last second to avoid screaming such a personal conversation.
"How could you not have known?!" Kiyoko retorted with another question. "It was so obvious!"
"We were all just friends!"
"Just friends?!" A deep voice from behind you interrupted before you or Kiyoko could say another word. "You aren't talking about us, are you?"
You could pick that voice out of a lineup and consequently, your face turned bright red and you swallowed hard. Had he heard what you and Kiyoko had been talking about? How long had he been standing there?
Turning in your chair, you looked up at Kuroo, who was standing behind your chair, and the four other guys standing behind him; all of whom had apparently made their way over after witnessing your struggle with the champagne.
Before you had the chance to work out a suitable answer and attempt to explain away what you and Kiyoko had been discussing, Kiyoko stood from her chair and offered it to Kuroo, motioning for the group to sit down with you at the same time.
"Well, I'll leave you guys so you can all catch up." She smiled wide, throwing you a quick wink when no one else was looking. "I'm sure Tanaka will start searching for me soon anyway. I can only leave his side for so long before he starts causing chaos."
"Looks like the chaos has already started." Oikawa pointed to the head table where Tanaka was pouring liquor straight down Hinata's throat while Noya and Tendou counted the seconds out loud at the top of their lungs.
"Oh, good God." Kiyoko excused herself without another word, rushing across the room to put an end to her husband's antics. The six of you were left chuckling and watching as she snatched the bottle out of his hand and made quick work of reprimanding the men.
Shaking his head, Daichi sat down across from you while the other men took their seats as well. Having been the team captain of Karasuno and on a volleyball team with Tanaka for two years, he knew all too well what it was like to have to keep him in check constantly. "I will never understand how he suckered her into marrying him," he commented.
"Because love." You shrugged. "It makes you do stupid things."
Just then, a waiter came by and placed a fresh glass of champagne in front of each of you. "Ain't that the truth." Kuroo rose his glass and encouraged everyone else to do the same. "To love and other stupid things."
"To love and other stupid things," the remaining five of you repeated before clinking your glasses together and taking a sip of the bubbly alcohol.
Bokuto, who already seemed a little too tipsy for his own good, downed all of his in one go before scooting his chair closer to yours and throwing an arm over your shoulders. "So, tell us, what have you been up to?!" he chirped happily. "We all missed you when you left, you know."
After assuring Bokuto about four or five times that you had missed him as well, you gave the group of eager listeners the short version of what you had been up to since graduation. You explained your boring job and the fact that you played volleyball as often as you could. They asked about other aspects of your life as well, and when the topic of significant others came up, you shyly admitted that you were, indeed, still single.
"Hey, it's not like any of us can judge you for that," Ushijima told you. "None of us have anyone in our lives either."
Oikawa scoffed. "You make it sound like I'm hopeless."
"You are hopeless," Kuroo laughed. "You spent how many years in Brazil and still couldn't find a girl to date you? You moved to Argentina and still nothing. Doesn't that say anything?"
"Leave it to Oikawa to make it all about him," you commented, mindlessly taunting the setter like you used to do all the time when you were younger.
Your jab earned a few amused chuckles from the others and even Oikawa cracked a smile; and just like that, it was like you were back in high school with five of your closest friends, shooting the shit like you always did.
Before you knew it, the six of you were talking, laughing, and drinking the night away. Even Ushijima, who was usually the quiet one of the group, was participating more than you ever remember him doing so. The awkwardness from the first few minutes of interaction and the burning embarrassment of what Kiyoko had told you had melted away so seamlessly that you didn't even notice; suddenly you just found yourself comfortable and feeling rather at home.
Daichi told you about how his job as a cop was going and even shared a few exciting stories—stories that the others had clearly heard many times before if their bored expressions were any indication.
Kuroo talked about his job at the Japan Volleyball Association Sports Promotion Division, which he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying. You were kind of envious of him for managing to stay in the world of volleyball without actually having to keep playing.
Then, of course, Bokuto, Ushijima, and Oikawa discussed what it was like playing for the MSBY Jackals, the Schweiden Alders, and Club Atlético San Juan in Argentina, respectively. Oikawa, much like Daichi had been, was very excited to have someone new to tell his stories to—although his stories were about Argentina and not being a cop.
It made you feel a little sad when you realized just how distant you had grown from your friends and how much of their lives you had missed, but you had to admit that getting to play catch up was extremely entertaining.
After what felt like only twenty minutes or so, but was probably closer to two hours, the reception started winding down and guests started heading home for the night.
Pulled from the happy little bubble the six of you were existing in by the sudden realization that the party had a lot fewer people than you remember, you checked the time and noted that it was rather late.
Daichi, who had been oblivious to the rapidly passing time as well, muttered something about having to work the next day as he reached for his suit jacket that he had draped over the back of his chair at some point and started putting it back on, indicating that he was getting ready to leave.
Bokuto began to pout jokingly and tightened his hold on you, his arm never having left your shoulders the entire time. "You're not going home right away, are you?" he asked you, his wide eyes ready to guilt-trip you into staying longer should he need to. "You're staying in Japan for a while, right?"
"I'll be here for about two weeks or so," you told him, patting his cheek lightly and chuckling when his expression changed on a dime and he smiled wide. "Don't worry, I'm not abandoning you again so soon."
"Then we will have to get together for dinner or drinks or something," Kuroo suggested as he too stood from his seat. "Have you changed your number since high school?"
You shook her head. "Nope, it should be the same one you all have."
"Excellent!" Oikawa cheered. "I've got to head back to Argentina in a week or so as well so we definitely have to get together soon. I have first dibs!"
"Y/N is a person, not the last piece of food," Ushijima huffed. "You can't call dibs."
Oikawa just scoffed. "Sure I can, Toshi. I just did."
"I told you not to call me that."
The two professional volleyball players glared at one another and you wondered how it was possible that they stayed friends for so long, let alone became friends in the first place, considering they were always at each other's throats.
"Okay, you two, don't make me escort one or both of you home in a cop car tonight," Daichi warned. "I'm not in the mood to babysit."
"If I promise to behave, will you promise to use your handcuffs?" Oikawa winked, earning a few hushed chuckles and an obviously disappointed look from Daichi.
"Well, that's my cue to call it a night," Daichi announced as he made his way over to you and pressed a quick kiss to your cheek. "It was lovely seeing you again. I'll call you and we can do dinner sometime, yeah?"
You smiled and nodded. "I'd love to."
With that, Daichi took his leave and the others were soon to follow. Bokuto, who was the last to leave your side, had somehow swindled you into promising to play a volleyball game with him at some point before he bid you goodnight as well and left you to collect your thoughts before catching a cab and heading back to your hotel room.
On your way out, you thanked Kiyoko for inviting you and congratulated her and Tanaka on their marriage. They too insisted on getting together with you once more before you left and you happily agreed, already dreading having to leave your friends again.
As you climbed into your cab that evening, drunker than you had been in a long while and filled to the brim with joyous memories and content feelings after being reunited with so many old friends, you couldn't help but linger on one thought in particular . . .
The fact that all of your former captain friends had grown into handsome men with stable jobs, they were all single, and the startling new discovery that they apparently all had crushes on you in high school.
Did they still feel the same way? Or, more importantly, did you feel the same way?

Haikyuu boys being jealous
Characters: Daichi, Kageyama, Tsukishima
Warnings: fluff,language?
Tumblr media
Daichi:
Tumblr media
-He’s usually hiding when he is jealous.
-Not well since his aura says otherwise.
-The members of Karasuno know to stay away from you.. except the flirty ones. (Noya, Hinata unintentionally, and in a way Tanaka-)
-Those are the ones that never seem to learn from Daichi’s scary glares and expressions.
-You are walking with the team to go to Ukai’s store, while holding hands with Daichi.
-Upon arrival, everyone split up to do their own thing.
-including Daichi.
-He had something he needed to get and so did you.
-While looking at something in one of the isles, you hear footsteps from behind you.
-“Y/N, what’re you looking for?” A voice said.
-“Oh! Tanaka you scared me.”
-“Sorry-“
-“It’s okay and I was just trying to reach up there to get [insert food item].. but I can’t reach it.”
-“Here, let me get it!”
-He leans over to grab the item, but since he’s still behind you, he basically leaning over you.
-What a time for Daichi to walk around the corner into that isle.
-“Tanaka.. tell me why you’re hovering over her?” He says with a dark look on his face.
-“O-Oh.. hey Captain-“ Tanaka quickly jumps back after handing you the item.
-“I suggest that you should go back to getting your own things.”
-And with that, Tanaka is off.
-“Love, he was just helping me get something I couldn’t reach.“ you giggle.
-“Oh.. well he was just hovering over you so-“
-You kiss him.
-“You don’t need to worry, I’m only into you!”
-“Same goes for you, baby.” He immediately goes back to normal.
Kageyama:
Tumblr media
-He typically can’t control his jealousy.. so this man is always around you.
-Y’all were at Aoba Johsai since he had just had a practice match and you promised to watch him.
-Him and his team were all discussing ways to improve.
-Meanwhile, you were leaning on a nearby wall on your phone.
-“Well hello there~” someone says making you peek up from the device in your hand.
-“Oh, Yahaba was it?”
-“That’s right!”
-He continues to talk with you, constantly flirting.
-Kageyama looks your way only to see the Seijoh member hitting on you and you tensing up.
-He couldn’t tell what exactly he was saying but he was getting pissed already.
-Forgetting the discussion, he stomps over.
-“OI BOKE!”
-“Kags!” You smiled.
-“You know him?” Yahaba asks.
-Kageyama is livid.
-“Yeah! He’s my boyfriend.”
-“Oh shi-“ Yahaba slowly backs away after you said that and after seeing Tobio’s glare that meant anything but good.
-“Leave.” Is all that your boyfriend says.
-Yahaba almost sprints back to his team.
-“Thanks.. he was making me uncomfortable heh-“
-“Cmon let’s go.”
-“Mhm!”
Tsukishima:
Tumblr media
-You would never have imagined he would be so jealous.
-He’s one salty person, but with you he can let himself be sweet. (Why did I suddenly thing of sweet and sour-)
-Tsukishima knows if you or anyone saw him like that he would get endless amounts of teasing.
-But there’s a time where that doesn’t matter to him.
-It was right now.
-You’re standing in front of the gym waiting for him when a random guy comes to you.
-“What’re you doing all alone, doll?”
-“Excuse me? Who even are you?”
-“Oo feisty.. good.”
-He continues to spit flirtatious nonsense at you.
-It was then that your partner is walking out the gym early as he normally does.
-He saw you and that guy.
-How you obviously were upset.
-He goes to the two of you.
-“What do you think you’re doing?”
-“Just talking to this pretty lady~”
-“Tch. Disgusting.”
-“What was that??”
-Tsukishima stares down at him. The guy gulped.
-“Nevermind..”
-The man backs off and leaves.
-“Tsukki~”
-He blushed a bit while trying to keep a stoic expression.
-“What-”
-“Were you jealous babe?”
-He scoffs, looking the other way.
-“No I was not.”
-“You were~” you grinned.
-“U-Urusai.”
-He starts to walk away, holding his hand out for you while facing ahead.
-You put your hand in his.

Unknown Volleyball Player
Fandom: Haikyuu Pairing: Karasuno & Male!Reader Summary: You didn’t want to join the team, but you kinda did. Word Count:  1,414 Request: @greyofthystallion “ You wanted Haikyuu? You getting Haikyuu! Karasuno x MR. R is really quiet/shy and comes to all of Karasuno's games/practises. One day when the team is practising a ball goes towards a group of people watching practise and he saves them. It turns out R is actually a really good player and was once in the top 3 Liberos, (Insert freaking out Hinata here) but was too nervous to ask to join 'cause he came in the middle of the year and the team was already situated? And he joins the team?”
Tumblr media
After the lost with Abajo Sai, the team has been feeling a bit dejected.
But, news had gone around the school that they made it to semi-finals, inclining people to come to watch their practices during the lunch hour on a Wednesday. You were one of the observers and the team noticed you often. You were the quiet one who liked watching what was going on, you hardly talked and you never like to draw attention towards you.
The team was slowly getting better with techniques and working together, but there something missing. Whilst the unlikelihood of Noya being absent or hurt, they didn’t want Daichi to fill in as his position. They needed another libero just in case, plus, it’s only a matter of time they would need a new one after Noya will leave after his third year.
“Is (L/n) watching again?” Noya asked, looking up at the balcony, see you watching them.
“Who is he?” Takeda asked the boys, Ukai wasn’t there for lunch practises on Wednesday, so he was there to watch them, “He’s the transfer, isn’t he?”
“Yeah,” Hinata exclaimed before Daichi glaring at him to quiet his voice down, “He’s in our year, see him go into class four with Tsukishima.”
“He’s quiet,” The blond boy speaks up, “I like him.”
Nishanoya and Tanaka gasped, the fact that Tsukishima admitted he liked another person other than his best friend had wounded them.
“Knock it off,” Daichi exclaimed, clapping his hands before telling to them to get changed so they can head off to their next lesson.
You were a topic often talked about the boys, they wonder why you often came to watch, they had noticed that even before you joined their school you watch their matches. You were so amazed at the team, Kageyama’s brilliant serve with Hinata’s jump and their quick. You were astounded by Noya’s defending skills.
When the next day had rolled about, you had gym that day and the volleyball club had their practice after school. You were about to leave school grounds when school ended, but you were preoccupied with the vending machine.
“Hi (L/n)!” Hinata greeted as you looked at him, grabbing your drink as Kageyama comes from the side to grab his milk, he nods you a greeting, “Will you be watching us?”
“Not today,” You replied as the two of them head away, Hinata being dragged away as he was upset you weren’t to watch them. You laughed as you see them dash into the gym, you shake your head.
You found the bunch funny, but you didn’t want to intrude on their practice. So, you decided to head home instead of watching. There was a group of girls walking past the gym doors, not noticing a flying ball towards them.
Your instinct kicked in as you ran to receive the ball perfectly, landing in a superhero stance. One stretched out, the other bent as you couched. One hand had propped itself on the ground to stabilize yourself after the powerful stray ball - yet your other hand still held your drink.
You missed the stinging feeling of your arms, it was less there to feel as you had you school jacket on as the girls screamed before stopping that they hadn’t been saved.
“Oh, (L/n)-san! Thank you!” They say as you stood up, brushing yourself, a hint of embarrassment on your cheeks.
“Oh, it’s no worry,” You say with a smile as they bow to you, you waved them off as you scratched the back of your head as you turn around to see the volleyball team looking at you, “Hello?”
“What the fuck?” Noya screeches as you look at them sheepishly.
Tsukishima inclined himself to throw the volleyball in his hand towards you, just before anyone could scowl at him, you caught the ball with one hand, inches from your faces. The team looks at you dumbfounded with your insane reflexes. With a twist of your wrist, you got the volleyball to spin on your finger.
“What position do you play?” The coach asked you, you hold the ball as you looked up at Ukai.
“Libero.”
“Why have you been hiding that?” Tanaka screeches as you smile at them, throwing the ball back to the captain.
“Please show me how to do that!” Hinata exclaims just as you were about to answer. His arms outstretched in front of him, almost like a wrapped mummy reaching out for you, “Please (L/n)-san!”
You chuckled, “Yeah, maybe...”
“Wait, can we backtrack?” Suga made his voice heard, “Why did you hide that away from us?”
You shrugged your shoulders, “Well, your team seem so completed and I didn’t want to join whilst I just transferred here - I didn’t want to intrude at all.”
“You wouldn’t!” Noya says, jumping towards you, you barely flinched at a short teenager launching himself towards you, “We need you on the team, the more the merrier - right guys!”
“I believe it’s Daichi’s decision whether if he can join or not,” Asahi spoke up, his hand raised up slightly.
The team looked at the captain, even the coach didn’t want to interrupt this decision making. Ukai had no objections in you joining, you would be a great asset and hoping you could teach Hinata how to receive. Daichi relaxes his shoulders and smiles towards you.
“Come join us, you can start in this practice.”
You nodded as they tell you to head up on the changing room. You came down to join them in practice, it seems like you were having a blast - especially saving Kageyama’s monstrous serve that only you seem to save consistently. It came to a point that everyone was just watching the two of you.
The team had noticed that unbreakable focus you had, it was filling the room - it was challenging Kageyama’s aura. The boys watched from the side lines as Yachi looked like she was about to pass out - concerning herself about your arms.
“Is that all you have Kags?” You asked teasingly, slowly bending down with a tinge of smug in your eyes.
“No,” Kageyama smirks as he delivers you another jump serve, to the back right corner.
But, like everyone, you were too quick for their eyes as you dive to save the killed serve and bring it back to Kageyama’s side of the court. The ball bounced in the silent gym as you face Kageyama. It seems like Kageyama was having a great time if anyone watches in - this could seem torturous.
“Alright, we’ll call it a night before we break (L/n)’s arms.”
“That’s so cool!” Hinata excitedly shouted, running up to you to talk about your skills whilst your senpai, Noya roughly pats you on the back.
“You’re freaking cool.”
You smiled, biting your smile back. When you really get into volleyball your shy demeanour fades away, you completely change that it almost scares the team on how focus you become.
“It’s terrifying that you and Kageyama are only in first years, but you guys are scary - glad we’re on a team with you,” Suga says, roughly patting you on the shoulder.
“We’ll get you your uniform and jacket next week, we just got to get your measurements,” Daichi says, standing behind Suga, zipping up his jacket.
You nodded, as everyone started to file out the changing room with Tanaka locking up as Kiyoko waving them down, the majority gave her heart eyes as Yachi came behind her timidly.
“I knew I recognised you from somewhere!” Kiyoko blushes, it was so unlike her for her to exclaimed as you widen your eyes, she holds up a magazine - looks out of date, “Top three libero?”
You chuckled nervously as eyes snapped towards you, “Yeah...? I plan to go to Japan Youth in December, but I didn’t want to join the team because you guys-”
“You’re so FUCKING cool!” Noya shouted, jumping so high as you laugh, “You have to teach me more stuff!”
“Can you teach me! Please (L/n)-san!” Hinata asked, jumping behind Kageyama to get seen.
“He definitely needs it,” Tsukishima mumbles as Yamaguchi snorts.
“Come on, pork buns on me, we can listen to you talk about it,” Daichi spoke warmly as you smiled.
Noya standing by your side with Hinata coming to the other side, the two boys excited to know more about you - somewhat, you feel like you have no trouble in fitting this group.

karasuno x affectionate manager! reader
hello !! i love reading manager scenarios a lot and decided to make my own :> this is my first post so please be kind ^^
Tumblr media
first of all, tanaka and nishinoya are absolutely thriving
so many managers and beauties that they had to protect !
you are a first year like yachi uwu
although unlike yachi, you joined early on because you found volleyball fun but you didn’t know how to play properly
kiyoko took you in as her child so quick
not @ kiyoko glowing because she isn’t the only girl anymore
you were a bit shy at first but that only lasted for a bit because everyone was so warm and welcoming
yeah you were a first year but you were the youngest out of everyone and immediately became the team babie
10/10 sure that the boys would fight who would lend their jacket to you during away games because you tend to get cold easily
you didn’t hear this from me but they ended up with a system on who gives their jacket on which day/situation
you are very affectionate and by that i mean that you absolutely thrive when you get hugs
it took a few practices before you asked for your first hug
you had a bad day and just really needed a good hug to make you feel better
because hugs make everything better
and what better than to ask from hugs from our one and only captain
you silently went up to him when they were getting ready for practice
stopped in front of him (cause we were hesitating okay !! hugs need consent too)
you put your arms in front of you and quietly said “daichicanigetahug”
100000% sure he didn’t hear you though cause you were technically hiding in your hoodie at this point
the other players slowly walking towards y’all cause you’re usually not this quiet but you know they still wanted to see what would happen
daichi asking you to repeat what you said again
you look up to daichi and mumble about asking for a hug again
all of them hear you at this point
daichi panicking because precious bean wants a hug and from him of all players !!
SHUSH THO DAICHI DESERVES ALL THE HUGS IN THE WORLD
you taking his silence as a rejection so you were about to say “lol nvm sorry captain”
daichi says okay tho
GIVES ONE OF THE BEST HUGS
you hug for a solid 20 seconds
20 because we’re sciency and they say it takes 20 seconds to release the feel good dopamine or smth
the team looking at both of u in UWU
they knew that they had to protect you before
but now they just wanted to keep your innocent self like that forever
the team wanted to hug you too so they all stayed behind after that practice
just to talk about how to approach you to ask for hugs
and yes, kageyama and tsukki were there too
were they forced to stay or did they genuinely want your hugs too? who knows at this point im just kidding they wanted it too but they would never say it out loud
they approached you the following day and said that if you ever need hugs, they would be there
and that was the start of the routine of you hugging them before and after practice
you have a special hug for everyone
they hug you extra long when there’s a game
i can see someone having their arm around your shoulder or holding your hand when going to games
they would do the same to the other 2 managers but kiyoko was like nOpE and yachi the poor bb is too nervous for that
they keep you, kiyoko, and yachi in the middle when all of you are walking
because the team must protect their managers from the “hungry wolves that will taint our managers”
must protect levels go up 239047818371230%
with all that’s said and done, you would never trade your team for anyone else
Tumblr media
that’s the end of my first work aaahhh !! i know i have so much to improve on but i would really appreciate to hear feedback and i’ll post more things soon <3

Hi there! It's my first time requesting in a haikyuu blog...I hope you don't mind me being nervous! Can I have headcanons for Kyotani, Aone, and Daichi with a fem!reader (maybe their mutual crush or girlfriend? You decide :)) who is very smart and diligent, seems like a very calm and mature person, but actually likes to tease and joke to her loved ones, including them? Sorry if it's tooo..specific hehe..I really love your writing, though!
a.n: hello! im so honored for being the first haikyuu blog you request for! from the start of the year, it’s been very hectic so I’m sorry this is super late :( your request is super cute!! I hope you enjoy
Tumblr media
aone
Of course Aone would have a smart, mature person.
You both were at the top of your class but also you two were close friends
everyone was so tired of you two looking at each other with stars in your eyes
at school, you were smart, mature , the example student. everyone naturally assumed that you act the same way with friends, even your crush
aone + his friend group know better
“ Futakuchi , why do ghosts like elevators”
the boy groaned and aone softly smiled, it was never a complete morning without your jokes
“ WHY Y/N-SAN” Koganegawa asked way too excited
“ Cause it raises their spirits! HA!” you finished. futakuchi would gladly hear your bad jokes every day just to see Aone softly smile
“ Hi Aone-kun” you say from the cafeteria door as you make your way to their lunch table. you’re favorite thing is teasing the poor crushing boy
“ h-hello” is all Aone could reply as your arms hug around his shoulders
“ whats wrong aone? cat got your tongue?”
pls just kiss him he can’t handle the teasing
Tumblr media
kyotani
YOU KNEW OF HIS CRUSH ON YOU AND YOU STILL TEASED HIM
you meanie
everyone confused how you’re into him , both of you are completely diffrent
kyo doesn’t care about school, yet you’re at the top of the class. kyo often throws tantrums and people often mistake you for an adult cause of your maturity
still it’s blows people mind when they see their class president tease the poor boy
“kentaro, why do bees have sticky hair” you asked the visibly pouting boy
leaning into his ear, “ because they use honeycombs” you whispered
the short distance between the two of you caused a deep red blush on kyotanis face as you walked away
“ you did it again class rep!” is all kyotani heard
Tumblr media
daichi
A TOUGH COOKIE TO BREAK ILL TELL YOU
It’s a constant competition between the both
youre the ace of the girls volleyball team so the boys team knew who you were
only way you can get a BLUSH on this mans face is if you wear his jersey
“ Sawamura, the schools sports fair is happing in our gym so we’re going to use the girls gym” Coach Takeds informed the captain
As the boys team was entering , they heard someone practicing their spikes inside
as from a movie, the angle of the sun perfectly shined on you as you finished your last spike, wearing Daichi’s jersey
As the third years laughed at Daichis blushing face, you bowed to Ukai and Takeda , apologizing for going over time
“ no need for such formalities (y/n) you’re good” ukai reassured you.
As the team situated, Daichi walked you outside
When you laughed and smacked Daichis ass to tease him, Noya and Tanaka busted out laughing
yea, he’s a tough cookie alright

Yamaguchi Tadashi x Really Sexy Yoga Instructor S/O
———————————
A/N: Thank you so much anon! You’re speaking my language with this request😍
It sounds a lot like the first ever request I got here, so this can be seen as a part two, or read as a stand alone. I hope you like it!!!
Not NSFW, but please only read if you’re over 18 y/o.
———————————
Yams, your beloved boyfriend of a few months will be the first to admit that he made a mistake volunteering you to help his volleyball team
About a month ago, Coach Ukai felt as though the team was way too pent up and ordered his players to indulge in some calming activities on one of the no-practice days with the goal of making the team less irritable
The coach found that Yoga would be a great solution
Coach Ukai had read that the benefits of Yoga include but are not limited to: increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, improved respiration, more energy and vitality, maintenance of a balanced metabolism, improved athletic performance, protection from injury, overall relaxation and stress relief.
Ukai thought that yoga was a no-brainer because if Karasuno was going to win the National tournament, then they had to adopt unconventional means in order to get an edge on the competition
Unfortunately, Takeda, the volleyball club’s advisor, couldn’t exactly find the budget to get the entire team signed up for weekly yoga sessions at the big studio downtown
Aw man :(
But fear not! smh
Your boyfriend to the team’s rescue! Great 😑
Thank goodness for your sweet baby 👍🏾 not
He’s just too caring for his own good isn’t he? You wish he’d stop
Because he..... well, lucky for Karasuno, your boyfriend Yamaguchi happily suggested that the team goes to the Karasuno High School’s Yoga Club sessions at the local community centre. The community centre hosts great swim, cooking, and even archery lessons! It would be perfect because it would be within budget and the 7am yoga sessions were always empty, because not many people knew about them.
“How do you know they’re legit? I don’t want my players getting hurt because some kids think it’s fun to twist n’ contort their bodies —“ Inquired coach Ukai. The entire team turned to Tadashi, awaiting his response.
Your annoying sweet man explained that all of the Yoga club members are certified by Japanese Health Standards and they are well-versed in their instructing, it was kind of the point of the club. He was sure the club would love the volleyball team’s company
Your boyfriends’ coach’s face lit up. When Ukai’s next question pertained to how tf Tadashi knew all of this, that’s finally when his face fell
Oops.
He’s so cute He wanted to help so badly he forgot that this could be a bad idea
How did he know all this? Well, maybe because his girlfriend of 3 months, you, run the damn club. And he knows everything about you because he’s whipped.
However, Tadashi couldn’t exactly tell them that was the reason because he is very private and didn’t want to introduce his beautiful girlfriend to guys that were sure to drool over her
Plus he wanted to make sure you weren’t in a daze when he confessed to you, testing whether one day you’ll wake up & realize you made a big mistake
Yamaguchi, quick on his feet, just said that you were his friend and you ran the club.
They believed it obviously, and that’s how it all started
Since there were multiple morning Yoga sessions, Coach Ukai divided the team into years for mandatory session attendance. The first years were scheduled for Monday’s at 7am, the second years on Wednesday’s (same time) and the 3rd years were on Fridays (same time).
You were late to your first session with the boys because even though Yams told you the team would start coming (and to keep your relationship a secret) you were used to being the only one here doing Yoga
You were only slightly startled when you opened the door to your beloved studio and saw Karasuno volleyball’s first years: Tsukishima, Kageyama, Hinata and your beautiful man Yams sitting down on Yoga mats patiently.
You cheerily introduced yourself and greet everyone, finding yourself happy to have the company
Yamaguchi was the only one to verbally greet you back, because the other boys were staring at you with what you would deem odd expressions
Yams noticed his solo greeting too and looked over to his teammates. He frowned because he knew the look on their faces and the lack of a voice very well.
How could he not? It was the same reaction he had when he saw you for the first time he was sure you came out of his wet dreams
You are so hot, and now his fellow first years were noticing
Yams pouted inside
Anyway, the same way you didn’t notice when Yamaguchi had that stare when you two met, you just got straight to business, setting down your pink yoga mat and water bottle and explaining all the rules.
It’s a good thing yoga sessions are supposed to be silent with only the sounds of the rain forest playing loud through the rooms speakers because I don’t think the boys could have spoken anyway
You did basic yoga stretches and had the boys follow your every movement
As you showed them the simple beginner poses, Tadashi caught Hinata and Kageyama sneaking glances at your figure with heavy blushes on their faces
If Tsukki thought you were attractive, which omfg did he ever, he didn’t show it in the slightest
Yamaguchi was happy to call him his best friend
The quick-attack boys could not say the same
Like the schoolboys they are, they relished in seeing a gorgeous female’s flexible body easily contort in front of them
Tadashi noted that, for two of the most intensely competitive people he knew, the two were peculiarly a little TOO happy with not doing any of the yoga poses correctly, he could guess why
You, still clueless, walked around the room to help the boys get into correct positioning platonically, the way every Yoga instructor does.
Tadashi on the other hand, was doing so well and you badly wished you could kiss him whenever you moved his body but you were respecting his wishes to keep you two a secret
Kags and Shōyō almost had internal panic attacks when you touched them or got close
They weren’t the greatest with girls but they were especially bad when one of the prettiest and fittest girls they’ve ever encountered was touching them and whispering in their ears to ‘turn like this’ ‘open up a bit more’ because of how quiet yoga should be
The combustion train has left the building! Choo choo 💨
You laughed when volleyball duo boys started shoving each other when Hinata fell out of a pose and landed on Kags
Tadashi’s eyes narrowed because he selfishly didn’t want you laughing at anything those boys did. Nevertheless, he shook it off
Maybe it will get better once the initial shock of your hotness wears off, Yams thought to himself when he left Yoga that morning.
Sure, because that’s how it worked with Kiyoko right?
Yeah, right. The following Monday you were still hot and the boys were still drooling over you.
At real volleyball practices and at lunch time Yamaguchi has to constantly hear the team (minus Tsukishima) gush about how attractive you are and how it wasn’t so bad waking up early in the morning if you were the view they were getting up to see
Now, Tadashi would definitely describe himself as a pretty calm guy......as would anyone who knows him......
But hearing his friends gush about you like you weren’t the smartest, most creative, genuine, conscientious person...... just an ideal body and gorgeous face not that they would know evoked jealous emotions deep within him
On dates with you he would inquire about the other volleyball yoga sessions you taught and you would tell him truthfully that your class of 3rd years were always fine, well behaved and very quiet because they were too busy fantasizing about you in their heads to talk dkm
and then you told your boyfriend that 2 of the second years were pretty flirty take a wild guess who? But that the one boy named Ennoshita got them to simmer down and then stop with the comments completely
Tadashi made a mental note to do a favour for his future captain
He was beginning to get irritated with the way these strong amazing athletes that he looked up to were reduced to goo when his girlfriend came around
He knew it was irrational to be so upset because he was sure they would chill out if they knew she was his girlfriend but
He just wasn’t ready for that yet.
So he endured the comments because even though the team was full of hormonone-crazy males, they never were vulgar or disrespectful in their remarks that was saved for all of their dreams and shower time
Either way,
None of that could stop the locker room talk.
“Did Y/N teach you guys the puppy dog stretch too this week?” Chirped Nishinoya as he bounced on the balls of his feet. The boys nodded. “Man is she s-m-o-k-i-n-g or what?? Don’t you think so, Asahi?”
Yams looked over from his locker to see the quiet and timid Ace of the team unable to help sporting a blush and nodding in agreement to Nishinoya.
Tadashi did NOT like this conversation. He took to chugging his water in order to distract himself from saying something he was sure to regret
“I-I really like Y/N’s yoga pants. They’re really cool!”
Kageyama rolled his eyes at Hinata's comment. “Of course you do, Boke.”
“Keep dreaming short stack!” Hollered Tanaka as he hopped in a super man pose on top of a bench. “For I will one day marry Y/N!”
Uncontrollably, Yamaguchi’s entire liquid contents in his mouth drenched Sugawara’s back in a spit take. Everyone laughed.
Let’s just say Karasuno’s vice captain made Yams do laps until his legs felt like they would fall off
By the third week, poor Yamaguchi had it up to HERE with the team’s pining after his girl.... be it Daichi’s subtle suggestion to the coach to extend AND increase the amount of yoga sessions, to Nishinoya’s memorization of the exact colour of your lip gloss per session
Yams actually growled under his breath when he heard both I swear to God
Yamaguchi felt like he was going to burst if he didn’t wring any necks first .
The entire team was smitten with his secret girlfriend and it made him insanely jealous. He couldn’t deny it anymore.
You were his. And only his. He wished he never volunteered you to help the team in the first place!
On your dates as a couple, you noticed that Yams was much more tense than he used to be before you started instructing the team. You told him over and over that you would quit this very second because he was so much more important than some silly club. You even suggested easily swapping with your second-in-command as instructor but
He wouldn’t have any of that. Apparently the team was already improving significantly in skill from Yoga like the Coach predicted. You are the best instructor your club had, and his team needed the best.
Plus he knows you love doing it and he puts your happiness before his own
The situation just sucked!
On the final yoga session before nationals, you arranged for the entire team to conjoin in one single morning session that would be longer at two hours instead of one, to go through everything they have learned in a mass session. It was also to make sure the numbers were even because today would be strictly focused on Partner Yoga!
The crows filed in to your studio, excited to see you and set up as usual
You walked in and told them about the partner yoga, and before they could volunteer to be your partner and upset your boyfriend, you told everyone you already had a partner and gestured toward the studio entryway:
Kiyoko walked in with a wave at her introduction and she spread her yoga mat next to you facing the class
They said 😳😳😳😳🤯🤯🤯🤯
The entire room was silent. Everyone minus Tsukki and your boyfriend combusted. Like they were done
Remember that combustion train? Yeah it just arrived at its destination: Nosebleed Central.
The boys’ little minds couldn’t fathom two extremely hot girls in compromising, stretchy positions that would look anything but innocent in their male minds
It was kind of a dream come true
You didn’t care that they were acting weird and you started the session, telling the boys to pair up and follow yours and Kiyoko’s lead
Even Yams started to feel hot and bothered at the sight of the multiple positions
Tumblr media
he always felt horny watching you instruct yoga but he was able to satiate his lust by reminding himself that you told him you want to sleep with him when he was ready, even though you were taking it slow. he’s always blushing so none of the guys ever thought anything if it
Satiating himself with that thought again, though, flew out the window as an option because you just looked too incredibly hot in partner positions. It got to the point where he wanted to kick Kiyoko out so you could practice these yoga positions with him
He wanted to be the one to put your leg on his shoulder as he pounded into your heat, not Kiyoko no matter how hottttttttt it was to look at
Suga used his fingers to flick Tadashi on the forehead to get his attention away from his secret girlfriend and back to the yoga positions he should be trying with him
“Dude.... trust me, I know, and I agree...” Suga nods in understanding as he glances over at the beautiful girls once more. It takes a good amount of effort for him to peel his eyes back to Yamaguchi. “But we have to do this. Try to pretend they’re not as hot as they are.” He gives your bf a thumbs up for encouragement
Yams didn’t smile back even though he commenced yoga again like his vice captain requested. Yams just wanted all of this to be over so he could somehow sneak you into one of the abandoned rooms in this community centre and take you right there.
Since Kiyoko was only there to demonstrate the positions and not join the class because she had other commitments, she had to leave pretty early
You went around helping everyone like you usually did, and now you definitely noticed how red all the boys’ cheeks were. Yams couldn’t even look at you the entire time he did yoga with Suga and you started to wonder if you did something wrong. Hm.....
Yams couldn’t look at you because he was using every ounce of his restraint to keep from jumping your bones
Before long, Y/N’s final yoga session was nearing completion until you realized that you had forgotten to demonstrate the final pose when Kiyoko was here.
Glancing at your boyfriend who was giving you the cold shoulder, you timidly asked if anyone minded being your partner to demonstrate—
Like zoo animals, all of the boys volunteered!!! You yelped because of how loud they got in the quiet room in a split second.
Does it matter who you choose?
Yamaguchi felt himself boil over in jealousy. These boys were throwing themselves at the woman who means everything to him, and that was enough to drive any man to the brink of insanity.
While the boys bickered about who would be your partner Hinata and Nishi already started the Rock Paper Scissors tournament, including the usually collected captains, Tadashi briskly made his way towards you with purpose. Without even thinking about it he cupped your face with one of his hands and tilted your lips towards his for a deep kiss.
You felt your knees weaken at the intensity of the unexpected kiss from the love of your life.
Yams wrapped an arm around your waist to hold you steady when he felt your knees weaken.
You two barely heard the collective gasp in the room...
...Nor did you hear Tsukki mutter a flat “I knew it.”
When you finally pulled away from your boyfriends perfect lips, you were still drunk off the kiss while he remembered where you two were
With an aura of manly confidence that could only come from the overwhelming satisfaction of giving into the animalistic urge to claim your mate in front of other males, Yamaguchi turned to his team. Shoulders back and confident, he smiled smugly
“Did I forget to tell you all that Y/N is my girlfriend? I’d appreciate if all the endless comments about how beautiful she is would cease to exist, at least around me. She’s very much taken. Oh, and I, ONLY I....will be her partner. Thanks.”
Ok can you imagine how fucking sexy shy Yams would look being strict, intimidating and completely territorial over you? 🤤
Karasuno’s team was stunned into silence before Nishinoya started a slow clap applause like they do in the movies.
Only Tanaka joined in with him. The rest of the team is not that lame
You, on the other hand, got so turned on by your boyfriend display of protection and jealousy that you muttered that class was over and you used your hand to turn Yams attention back to you. You got on the tips of your toes to pull him into another passionate kiss again.
You loved it.
Seeing this side of him stirred up a lot of emotions in you and you couldn’t help but ask your boyfriend if he wanted to skip school today. Your parents weren’t going to be home for 2 days and you had the house to yourself.
With half lidded eyes that only served to turn you on more Yamaguchi agreed.
I hope he knows that he was in for a really long and pleasurable day and night.....you were about to put those years of yoga training to good use, and your boyfriend couldn’t be luckier.

birthday forgotten - tsukishima kei x reader
REQUEST: “Hi babes! Another Haikyuu writer here! I saw you posted about doing requests and I was hoping on giving you one! Maybe an angst with fluff at the end fic where it’s the reader’s birthday (who is the karasuno manager and is also dating Tsuki cause I love that man) and they (the team) all forget, and when they find other later they feel bad because she has always made their birthday’s special. Then ending in fluff of them trying to make it up to her. Sorry if it’s not good I usually write and don’t request lmao. Hope you see more of your stuff in the future! - @nataliahaslosthershit “
A/N: I seriously can not thank you enough for sending in this request(deadass cried about it for a whole 10-15 minutes LOL - because i thought this blog was gonna flop ._. ) but thank you again for sending this in and i hope i didn’t disappoint you or anything!
-
WARNING: Angsty but with a fluff ending!
WHO: Tsukishima Kei x Karasuno Manager! Female Reader
-
“Morning Tsukki!” you smile at your salty dinosaur who had just entered the classroom. You followed him to his desk where he sat down and placed his bag, taking a book out.
“Morning.” Tsukishima said while giving you a small grin and paying attention to his book.
“Whatcha up to?”
“Reading.”
“Oh- uhm, do you want me to stay here or like?” You said as you were about to get up and leave though Tsukishima’s hand held onto your wrist.
“No no, it’s okay. You can stay here.” He looked at you with his norm straight face and you nodded sitting back down.
“I heard it’s a special day today...” you hinted. Today was your birthday and you were really hoping your salty dino got the message.
“Oh really?”
“Yup!” your eyes beamed with sparkles as Tsukki didn’t pay attention. “Hey are you ignoring me?”
“What? No! I was listening still. Keep talking.”
“Oh uhm, well today is a special day! A very very special day.”
“Is that so?” his eyes stayed on the book as he turned the page.
“Yes it quite is.”
“Well if you’re going to say something that mentions about practice then I think you’re mistaken.”
“No, silly! It doesn’t have to deal with practice. Something more exciting!”
“What is there to be excited about?” ouch.
“Well I don’t know, it seems that I am forgetting something...” you mumbled but screamed in your head to shout out the answer to your question. As much as you love this dinosaur, he sure is dumb to recognize the importance of your birthday.
“Well all I know is that today’s a normal and regular day, and there isn’t something special that I remember happening today.” suddenly the words Tsukishima was saying faded into a fuzzy noise. No longer were you able to connect back or hear anything around you, all you heard was the sound of your heartbeat slowly beating and your hurried breathes.
“Y/N? Hello? Are you okay?” Tsukishima snapped you back into reality.
“Huh? Oh yeah... I’m fine. Class is about to start, I’m going to head back to my seat and I’ll see you later yeah?”
“Okay, see yah.”
-
Class ended awhile ago and it was break. You had just left the washroom to see Kageyama and Hinata together bickering.
“What are you two boys bickering about, today?” as you walked up to them.
“Kageyama is calling me an idiot.” Hinata shot a glare at him.
“Again?” you chuckled.
“If you hadn’t ruined my favourite sweater Y/N got for me on my birthday by puking on it I wouldn’t be holding such a grudge.”
“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY SORRY!” Hinata jumped up and down.
“It’s alright, Kageyama. I’ll get you another one on your birthday!” you said with a small smile and Kageyama’s eyes lit up.
“Wait actually??? Th-Thank you.” he gave you a small bow and you laughed.
“WHAT? NO FAIR-“ Hinata started saying but you interrupted him.
“I’ll make your birthday even more special, Hinata.” That’s all it took to have stars shine in Hinata’s eyes.
“NOT FAIR-“ you probably shouldn’t have mentioned or said that as they continued to bicker.
“Hey- BOYS!” you stopped them and they apologized. “Get to class, you’ll be late.”
“Yes, Y/N.” as they trudged back to class. Hinata had turned around.
“Oh by the way, Y/N.” maybe he would remember or say something about your birthday.
“Yes, Hinata?” you waited for the words to come out.
“Are you ready for-“
“Yes! I am so ready and excited!”
“See Kageyama, I told you Y/N would be excited to see our quick.” wait-what? I thought he would say something or remembered.
“Tsk, whatever.”
“See yah Y/N!” Hinata waved. You tried not to look upset and waved back with a small smile.
“Bye, Hinata. Bye Kageyama. I’ll see you two at practice.”
You knew these two boys would be forgetful. What type of hope did you clutch onto? If Tsukishima didn’t even remember your birthday, how would the others?
-
“Oh hi, Y/N!” Sugawara had said.
“Hey! Where are the others?” you said as you saw Daichi, Asahi, and Tanaka.
“They’re just coming.”
“Ahh I see.”
“So are you doing anything after practice?” yes, I’m going to celebrate my birthday by myself.
“Uh, just studying for an upcoming test. How about you Suga-san?”
“Good luck with that! And uhm.. I don’t think I have anything in mind today. Maybe just take a shower and sleep when I get home.” Suga laughed and you chuckled a bit before putting a small smile hiding away the pain.
Even Suga forgot your birthday... This is honestly one of the most heartbreaking thing because he’s never the type to forget things. Especially when it comes to birthdays...
-
“Takeda-sensei, I think I’ll head out first. I still have homework to work on.” You said.
“Okay, thank you Y/N for coming.” He said before turning around. You went towards the door to open it quickly as tears were streaming down your cheeks already and you didn’t want to be seen with such emotion displayed on your face. You accidently hadn’t seen where you were going as you bumped into someone.
“Oh Y/N, are you okay?” Kiyoko asked. You wiped the falling tears from your eyes quickly and inhaled a breath of air before facing her.
“Huh? Ah, Kiyoko-san, yes. I am alright. I’m just going to leave early because I have homework to finish.”
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yep! See yah!” As you quickly turned away from her and walked your way home continuing to have tears stream down your face. The slow mind process of doubt, and overthinking started playing in your head as to how this could have led you to such event.
-
“Alright everyone, good job today! Make sure to rest up well, eat a well balanced dinner and get enough sleep.” Coach Ukai had spoken before continuing to speak, “Where’s Y/N?”
“She said she had homework left to do.” Takeda-sensei spoke out.
“Shoot, I wanted to gift her this.” Coach Ukai was holding a bag of your favourite snacks from his store.
“What for?” The team questioned.
“For her birthday... Why else?” Coach Ukai looked at the team in confusion looking at the faces of shock and guilt before widening his eyes.
“Did you idiots forget it was her birthday?!?!?!?” Coach Ukai slightly raised his voice making everyone panic.
“Wait- what? It’s today?” Tsukki checked his phone and spat out his water.
“Holy shit, I’m a bad boyfriend.”
“Tsukishima! How could you forget!?!?!” Yamaguchi yelled at his best friend before slapping him on the back of his head.
“So that’s why she was crying...” Kiyoko spoke out and everyone froze.
“S-She was crying?” Tsukishima’s eyes enlarged before grabbing his bags and heading towards the door.
“Where are you going?” Daichi asked stopping at the door.
“To go apologize to my girlfriend and to spend the rest of the day with her, why else?” As Tsukishima stared down at his captain.
“We should all go and make it up to her. We as a team forgot so we shall go do what’s right.” Sugawara had spoken as Tanaka and Nishinoya had aggressively nodded their heads.
“Let’s go to Coach Ukai’s shop to purchase more snacks and drinks.” Hinata said while looking at Kageyama. “I’ll beat you there first.”
“Not unless I do it first!” As the two started sprinting towards the doors and to the shop.
“You sir,” Tanaka and Nishinoya said while looking aggressively into Tsukishima’s eyes, “Need to be a better boyfriend or we’ll take your girl.
“As if you can.” Tsukishima smirked heading outside before dashing to your place.
-
You were laying in bed after finishing your studies and staring at the ceiling thinking about how today turned out.
“Am I not important? Do they even know when my birthday is? I mean I had mentioned it before. Does Tsukki even know it’s today? Am I not special enough?” all these clouded thoughts were blocking out the noise around you but suddenly your phone vibrated next to you snapping you out of your thoughts. The caller ID showed a picture of you and Tsukishima on your second date at the park mindlessly being slight idiots at night.
“Hello-?”
“Open your door.” Tsukishima’s voice said.
“Huh, why?” As you got up and walked towards the front door.
“You’ll see.” The call ended and you stared at your phone questioning what Tsukishima meant.
You opened the door revealing your boyfriend.
“What are you doing here at this time?” You said looking up at your boyfriend and tilted your head in confusion.
“Hold on, you can come in guys.” Tsukishima mentioned and you cocked your eyebrow at him.
“Happy birthday, Y/N!” Hinata came in giving you a plastic bag. In came the rest of the team and you were suddenly now holding plastic bags and poorly wrapped gifts in your hands as each of them said happy birthday to you.
“What is this..?” you chuckled nervously looking at them all for an answer.
“We felt really bad for forgetting to say a happy birthday to you. Mainly that tall blonde over there.” Tanaka said and Tsukishima sent a glare to the older boy.
“Aww thank you guys... I will admit I was a little upset, but that doesn’t matter anymore because you guys are here now! What are we waiting for? Let’s get this party started!” you exclaimed and their moods brightened.
“I’ll go set up the board games.” Daichi said with Sugawara following behind. The rest of the boys went to set up the snacks meanwhile you went to your room and placed the gifts there before heading to the kitchen to get some cold drinks.
“Y/N...” Tsukishima said out of nowhere scaring you.
“Tsukki, you nearly gave me a heart attack.” you said as you placed a hand over your heart chuckling.
“I’m sorry.” your chuckling stopped.
“It’s okay, babes. You didn’t know.” you said placing the drinks onto the kitchen counter.
“No, it’s not okay! Today is significant and an important day. I am so stupid for forgetting that it was your birthday.” Tsukishima looked down. This wasn’t like your boyfriend. The Tsukishima you knew wasn’t all apologetic and or so soft?
“Tsukki, it really is okay...” you went over to him and stood right in front of him before wrapping your arms around your salty dino.
“But it’s not.” he said mumbling. You sighed before bringing your hands to Tsukishima’s cheeks pulling him down a bit and bringing your lips together for a light kiss and going back into a hug position.
“Baby, it’s okay. I already forgave you for coming and you guys making it up to me by purchasing all this stuff and bringing all this stuff too. I promise.”
“Really? Cause I feel like a shitty boyfriend right now.”
“You will if you keep being all pouty and soft. That reminds me, since when were you so caring and soft?” you push your head away from Tsukishima’s chest giving him a puzzled look before he placed his hand on the back of your head and pushed you back to his chest.
“Shut up.” he grumbled while blushing and you giggled.
“WOAH- TSUKISHIMA’S BEING ALL CUTE IN THE KITCHEN WITH Y/N!” Sugawara said telling the group and from there started chaos.

Hello, could you do 3rd gym squad having a big fight with their s/o in front of their respective teams ? Thanks in Advance! I love your writing 😇
tsukishima, kuroo, bokuto, and akaashi fighting with their s/o in front of their teams
this ended up being HELLA angsty,,, lowkey pained me to write ngl😔
from high demand, here’s pt.2 for when you finish: pt.2
tsukishima:
even though tsukishima had been avoiding you all day, he ran into you before heading to practice
he was about to walk right past you and go into the gym but you grabbed his arm
“kei, can you least talk to me!?”
he forcefully pulled him arm out of your grip
“no. i’m not in the mood to talk to you right now.”
you threw your hands up in the air, “well what the fuck did i even do?!”
yachi came out of nowhere and began watching you guys argue in distress
you rarely ever raised your voice at tsukishima, mainly because you never had a reason…. but you just couldn’t deal with his childishness today
“you let that idiot from fifth period flirt with you all day! did you not see him ogling at your tits?! god.. and then you went even closer to him. it’s like you were trying to do something.”
“woahhhh there, tsukishima. you shouldn’t say that,” daichi cautioned.
you didn’t know when it had happened, but the rest of karasuno had now been surrounding you guys
you watched sugawara walk up to daichi and whisper, “hey, maybe we shouldn’t interfere.”
“tsukki, don’t say that about y/n!”, yamaguchi blurted
you couldn’t even focus on the team watching because all you could think about what was tsukishima just said
“are you fucking kidding me right now? i can’t believe you just said that to me. fuck you.”
you walked away from tsukki and the team
nishinoya was about to go after you but asahi pulled him back
“oi, are you gonna do something about this?!”, tanaka questioned
“no, let’s just get on with practice,” tsukishima muttered while walking into the gym
kuroo:
you and kuroo have been on edge recently
he’s been spending wayyy too much time on volleyball
like you understand he’s the captain and has duties, but even during his free time, he wouldn’t go out of his way to see you or hang out with you
“y/n, what do you need? you know i start practice soon.”
you folded your arms, “that’s just it! you always have practice. all the time,” you started raising your voice
“i’m literally the fucking captain. i have to be here. you knew what you were getting yourself into when we started dating.”
yaku pulled up to the scene
“yo! what’s going on here?”, he shouted
“not right now, yaku,” kuroo retorted
it’s weird cause, kuroo would never raise his voice at you… but he yelled at yaku
“i know that. but even on your days off, you never see me! ….. it’s like you don’t even care..”
you felt your voice crack during your last sentence
“you know i care, y/n! it’s just-“
“oh it’s just what, tetsuro? do you even want to be with me anymore?”
“don’t think that, y/n!”, blurted lev
“actually. you know what, don’t answer that,” you whispered
taketora looked at you with a hurt expression, then he looked back at kuroo
you didn’t even realize the rest of the team showed up
“y/n….”
kuroo was going to say something but you turned around and started to walk away, pain overflowing your heart
kenma walked up to your equally hurt boyfriend, “kuro.”
“but i-i can’t miss practice today, i-“
coach nekomata walked out to the gym and towards the team
“go speak to her, kuroo.”
kuroo mouthed a “thank you” and quickly ran after you
bokuto:
for the past week, you’ve been trying to get bokuto to focus more on school
“babe, i understand you want to have fun and just play volleyball, but you need to pay more attention to your grades. you’re borderline failing two classes!”
“it doesn’t matter, y/n! i’ve already been scouted… i don’t have to worry about school anymore.”
you sighed. “koutaro, it doesn’t matter if you’ve already been scouted or not. you need to continue applying yourself in class!”
washio put a hand on your shoulder, “y/n, don’t get too heated.”
you looked at him and flashed an annoyed smile, not caring if you seemed rude
“i don’t understand why you’re so invested in this… just let it go,” bokuto exhorted
you scoffed at him, “it’s because i CARE, jerkoff.”
at this point, you were livid that bokuto wasn’t really listening to what you were trying to say
you noticed yukie and kaori were trying to calm you down, too
akaashi quickly spoke up, “bokuto-san, i think y/n is just trying to look out for you.”
when did everyone else even show up?
bokuto looked back at you, “well she doesn’t have to, i can take care of myself.”
some of the first years were shocked… they never heard their senpai say something like that before
konoha tried to make light of the situation by making a joke, “okay bokuto, we all know that isn’t true.”
“whatever,” was all you could say before walking away from the group
bokuto stood there for one minute before realizing what had just happened
the team discussed how he should try to fix things with you before letting him chase after you
akaashi:
“keiji, what’s not clicking?! can’t you see that she constantly talks over me and interrupts me just so she can get your attention?”
you and akaashi has been arguing after school about some girl in your homeroom
“y/n, i think you’re overthinking things,” he tried to reason
“but i’m not! she always subtly touches your arms and shit… and you let her!”
akaashi seems annoyed now
“i can’t even recall things like that happening,” he stated
“yea, cause you’re sooo oblivious to this chick blatantly flirting with you.”
akaashi ran his fingers through his hair and you realized that some of his teammates started surrounding you guys
“you’re acting like a child right now. she’s not flirting with me, okay? end of discussion.”
konoha raises his eyebrows and mutters an “oh shit.”
“did you just dismiss me?”
you were no longer yelling at this point, that’s how everyone knew you were pissed
bokuto reached out towards you “hey, y/n-“
you moved away before he could comfort you
“no, bokuto, don’t touch me right now.”
he seemed hurt by your remark, but at this point, you didn’t even care
“you know what? fine. if you want to let this girl be all over you, so be it.”
akaashi let out a sigh. “baby, c’mon. you know it’s not-“
you left before he could finish his sentence
bokuto started speaking up, “akaashi, i think you should talk to y/n.”
kaori: “yea.. in a way where you guys listen to what each other has to say.”
akaashi put his head down.
“no… i think we need some time to recollect our thoughts.”
he left his team stunned by his response as he began to walk away, too

𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐲𝐮𝐮 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 - 𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐨 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
disclaimer : i am not japanese, i only study it in college so please feel free to correct me if i made any mistake !
Tumblr media
⇀ hinata shōyō - 日向 翔陽
日向 : the first kanji is 日 (hi), meaning sun, day, light of the sun, which perfectly fits hinata’s personality, obviously
the second kanji is 向 (nata) and has quite a few meanings depending on the context, such as : facing, beyond, confront, defy or approach. overall i think this kanji is perfect to illustrate hinata’s habit to always move forward no matter what stands in front of him
翔陽 : the kanji 翔 (shō) is literally perfect for hinata since it means soar, fly. however, it is different from the kanji we see on karasuno’s banner which is 飛. i’ve done some researches and it seems like 飛 is used to express flying, fluttering or scattering while 翔 is used for things that are currently in flight.
the second kanji, 陽 (yō) has a similar meaning to 日, they both mean sun and overall express a feeling of positivity
⇀ kageyama tobio - 影山飛雄
影山 : the first kanji 影 (kage) means shadow, silhouette, phantom. in other terms, it’s almost like the opposite of the sun that is so predominant in hinata’s name. i really like that 影 translates to “shadow” because, when you come to think of it, a shadow could not exist without sunlight (this is so wholesome bye)
the second kanji is 山, which is very common in japanese surnames and means “mountain”. my analysis is that mountains are one of the closest things to the sun, and the higher you stand on the mountain, the bigger the sun. it could be a great metaphor, meaning that tobio’s growth is a way of making hinata shine even brighter. another explanation is that kageyama literally means “the shadow of the mountain”
飛雄 : i mentioned it before but the kanji on karasuno’s banner is 飛, and it’s also the first kanji of kageyama’s first name. so yeah, i love this. it means that shōyō and tobio’s kanjis both mean the same thing, which is very interesting considering that their family names are so different
the second kanji is basically an ego boost from kageyama’s parents. 雄 means “masculine, hero, leader, superiority, excellence”, it’s like his king status follows him to his first name, like he was destined to be do great things
⇀ tsukishima kei - 月島蛍
月島 : you guys might know this already but the first kanji of tsukki’s name (tsuki) means “moon” (how bizarre). in zen buddhism, which is a part of japanese religions and beliefs, the moon is a symbol of enlightenment and truth : sounds perfect for this clever mr. salty.
the other kanji, 島 (shima) means “island”, which does not seem to have a direct link with tsukki. but trust me when i tell you you won’t be disappointed by the meaning of his first name
蛍 : i had trouble believing at first but the tsukki’s first name means “lightning bug, butterfly”. and i LOVE it. first of all because tsukki’s so desperately trying to be a lone wolf while his name is literally “butterfly”. second of all, i think that it’s a subtle way of expressing that tsukki thrives in the shadow, like a lightning bug. which is another clue telling us that hinata and him are opposite. my analysis is that the sun (aka hinata) is a source of light for everyone, while the moon (aka tsukki) is a source of light for much fewer people (hello yamaguchi), and, if we go even further, a lightning bug basically only produces light for itself which echoes tsukishima’s individualism
⇀ yamaguchi tadashi - 山口忠
山口 : you already know it if you’ve read kags part, 山 means mountain. and if my reasoning applied for kageyama and hinata, it most definitely applies for yamaguchi and tsukki as well. if yamaguchi symbolizes the mountain, then he is one of the few privileged that are allowed to be so close to the moon, who is usually so solitary.
the kanji 口 means “mouth”. like the “shima” in tsukishima, it does not symbolizes anything relevant to the character, the family name 山口 is just very popular in japan
忠 : in my opinion, this is the most appropriate kanji for yamaguchi’s first name. it means “loyalty, fidelity, faithfulness”. do i have to say more ? i don’t think so.
⇀ nishinoya yū - 西谷夕
西谷 : the first kanji is 西 (nishi) and means « west ». the second is 谷 (noya), meaning valley. nothing spectacular, right ? JUST WAIT (many of you guys probably know where i’m getting at)
夕 : noya’s first name, 夕 (yū) means evening.  WAIT A BIT MORE
⇀ azumane asahi - 東峰旭
東峰 : ok so i’m typing really fast because i think what furudate did is amazing : the kanjis of asahi’s last name are 東 which means « east » and 峰 which means « valley », « peak ». HOW GREAT IS THAT ? it’s literally written in their names that noya and asahi complement each other. also, choosing to name the ace with a kanji meaning « peak » is very clever. and as you can guess, their first names are also genius :
旭 : the kanji 旭 (asahi) means rising sun (literally, asa means morning and is written 朝, and hi means sun, written 日). but i think there’s more than a link between noya and asahi’s names. indeed, hinata said to asahi in season 1 that he really wanted to become an ace. and both characters have the kanji 日 somewhere in their name. it’s like they both aim so high (literally and figuratively) that the comparison with the sun is inevitable
⇀ tanaka ryūnosuke - 田中龍之助
田中 : this last name is one of the most popular in japan, and i don’t think it symbolizes anything particular for the character. but his name…
龍之助 : the first kanji is 龍 (ryū) and means « dragon, imperial ». obviously it fits really well tanaka’s fiery temperament. the second kanji is 之 (no) and it means « of, this » ; from what i read, it’s basically the kanji equivalent of の, which can be considered an equivalent of the « ’s » in english. and the third kanji, 助 (suke) means « help, rescue, assist ». so tanaka’s name is « the dragon that rescues » and i think it fits him so well ! it might be a reference to his protective behavior towards kiyoko. so basically, tanaka attacks to protect
⇀ sawamura daichi - 澤村大地
澤村 : i’ll admit it, daichi’s last name is definitely not the most stylish. the first kanji (sawa) means « swamp » and the second kanji (mura) means « town, village ». luckily, his first name is a bit more symbolic :
大地 : the first kanji, 大 (dai), means « large, big » and the second kanji is 地, meaning « ground, earth ». when the two of them are put together, it creates the noun 大地 which can be translated as « solid earth » which is obviously, very appropriated for our captain
⇀ sugawara kōshi - 菅原孝支
菅原 : sugawara is a japanese family name that means « sedge field », unless i’m forgetting something about suga i don’t think that it symbolizes something specific about him
孝支 : the first kanji 孝 (kō) means « filial piety, child’s respect », so according to his name, suga is a respectful child, which honestly does not surprise anyone. the second kanji is 支 (shi) means « support, branch, sustain ». like daichi, suga’s first name alludes to something strong on which others can rely for support. i mean, they’re not captain and vice-captain for nothing
⇀ ennoshita chikara - 縁下力
縁下 : ok i really like ennoshita’s name. the first kanji is 縁 (en) and means « affinity, relation, connection », which seems to be a reference to ennoshita being the one that, first of all, brings the second years together and also the one that will « connect » with daichi’s status of captain when the third years will be gone. it’s like he’s the bridge between the third years and the upperclassmen.
the second kanji is 下 (shita) which means « below, down, low, inferior ». my guess is that furudate either wanted to represent ennoshita’s tendency to doubt himself or simply the fact that ennoshita is right below daichi when it comes to the position of captain. like if there was a pyramid, daichi would be at the top and ennoshita would be right below
力 : the kanji of his first name means « power, strength, bear up » and i love that it compensates for the meaning of the second kanji of his family name. i like to picture that daichi is the « solid ground » as we’ve seen before while ennoshita is still underground but nonetheless really strong. moreover, if you combine daichi’s last kanji 地 and ennoshita’s 力, it creates the word 地力  (jiriki) which means « one’s own potential, real ability »
⇀ ukai keishin - 烏養繋心
UKAI’S NAME IS SO GREAT JUST WAIT I’LL SHOW YOU
烏養 (keep in mind that this is the last name so everything i’m saying here also applies to ikkei ukai) : you might have already recognized it but the first kanji is 烏 which can be read as « u » or « karasu ». see my point ? exactly. ukai literally shares a part of his name with karasuno, and this kanji means « crow, raven » (obviously)
the second kanji is 養 and means « foster, bring up, rear, develop, nurture » : such a great choice for this lovely coach, isn’t it ? but that’s not it :
繋心 : the first kanji is 繋 which means « tie, fasten, chain, connect », here again we are reminded that ukai is the one that brings the team together. also, he shares this kanji with his grandfather whose name is 一繋 (the first kanji means « one » so we can suppose that ikkei ukai was « the first to tie the team together ») . the second kanji is 心 which means « heart, mind, spirit ». i see this as a way of expressing that ukai is « the heart and mind of the team » thanks to his coach status
Tumblr media
i rly rly enjoyed making this post because it was a way for me to study and improve my japanese so i hope you liked it! i will make another post with other names because there’s just so much to say about them
keep in mind that these are just my personal theories and analysis, i might be wrong and honestly i was too lazy to look it up on google to see if i was right

Can you do Daichi x male reader where Daichi asks his boyfriend to come over to meet his team and he forgets and goes home so Daichi give him a call and is like "where you at?" "I cant come I look like a clown." "I bet you dont look that bad." "No you dont get it im in full drag." So his boyfriend comes to the gym in full drag, booby and butt pads, and monster heels, and when he walked in it's like Kags that recognizes him as his drag name.
LMAOOJSKE DRAG QUEEN READEKRNRNF
——————
Daichi x reader - DRAG QUEEN?!
⚠️warnings - drag queen, college first year reader x high school 3rd year (if that’s even a warning skdjd)
Pronouns- male, he/him
Tumblr media
——————
Daichi said it on impulse, really.
“Do you guys...wanna meet my boyfriend?”
Everyone in the gym stopped. They were in middle of a practice match between themselves, and just when Yamaguchi was about to serve, he choked on air and missed the ball completely. The ball flew in the air, before landing somewhere near his feet.
Everyone stared at Daichi with a variety of expressions. Some shocked, some looking at him like he ‘said I’m gonna chop my dick off,’ and some who didn’t even care. (Tsukishima, obviously.) Ukai had to call timeout, since no one could focus after what Daichi blurted out.
Suga chuckled awkwardly, slinging a towel over his shoulders. “So uh, ahaha, your um...gay...?” His voice progressively died down into a whisper.
“Yeah. Is...that’s a problem?”
“No! No! I fully support y-“
“AND YOU CHOSE NOW TO TELL US? DUDE, WE COULD’VE LIKE, THROWN YOU A COMING-OUT PARTY!” Tanaka shook his captaincy the shoulders, while Noya squirted water into his mouth with his squeeze bottle.
“Well I don’t really mind, I’m already out, I was just asking if you wanted to meet him.”
“DO WE?! OF COURSE WE DO! DOES HE PLAY VOLLEYBALL?! DO YOU THINK HE COULD JOIN THE TEAM?!” Hinata jumped up and down, slowly inching is way towards Daichi with an awestruck look on his face. He’s rather surprised Hinata isn’t more shocked.
“Yeah. Uh-no, sorry. He doesn’t play.” Daichi chuckled, patting an excited looking hinata on the head. “I don’t think he has work tomorrow, so tomorrow’s really the only time he can come to practice.”
“Work?” Asahi looked up from the towel he was using to wipe off his sweat. “How old is he? Is he a third year?”
“He’s a first year in college. Actually-I think he goes to the college in Sendai.”
Asahi exhaled. It would’ve been weird if someone as young as a highschooler were to already be working, when the could be enjoying their time in classes or clubs. “Where does he work?”
Flashbacks of all the drag shows and money being thrown around a stage whipped across Daichis mind like a slap to the face. He’s sure the team wouldn’t mind, especially because they already don’t mind him having a boyfriend, but he isn’t sure if (Y/n) was ok with him telling his team he was a...y’know.
“...I’m not sure?”
————
“Oh-hello Daikkun! How was practice today?” (Y/n) opened the passenger seat to his door, waiting for him to step inside. Sometimes he liked to pick him up from school before he had to get in makeup for a night show. That didn’t stop him from doing a little bit of eyeliner, though.
“It was nice. I told them they could meet you soon. The team.”
“Really?!”
“Yeah, you don’t have any shows tomorrow, right? I kind of told them tomorrow.” Daichi scrubbed at the back of his neck, while (y/n) started up his car. “I know you’ve wanted to meet them.”
“You bet your ass! Well-I mean I have a show at like 2 am but that doesn’t matter. What time can I come? Are they nice? Didn’t you say there was one who was really short but could jump as high as me in stilettos?”
“Oi-! Focus on the road!”
“Sorry, sorry! I’m just excited. Anyways! Can you come to my show tonight? I’ll sneak you in.”
“Every time I go to one of your drag shows I get scared someone will kick me out since I’m 17.”
“Dude, have you seen yourself?!” (Y/n) gestures over to Daichi, putting emphasis on his thigh-region. “You’re big and muscly enough to at least pass as 18. It’s just a one year difference, when’s your birthday again?”
“I can’t believe you forgot, I’m hurt.” Daichi chuckled, fiddling with his backpack straps on his lap. “Besides, doesn’t your show run kind of late today? I don’t get to choose when to take my classes like you, (L/n). And I have morning practice, so I need to sleep.”
“You’re no fun, Daikkun.”
“Yeah, yeah, My house is over there.”
————
(Y/n) scrolled through his phone for the nth time that day. Fanning himself dramatically, he huffed and buried his face into his pillow. There was nothing to do today, and since he took morning classes, that left him with the rest of the afternoon to ponder, before working at night.
Was there something to do today? Was he forgetting something? He felt like he was, but he couldn’t quite place his finger on it.
He glanced guilty at a tube of light pink lip gloss tossed haphazardly on his desk. A light bulb went off in his head.
Hastily throwing his covers off his body, (y/n) dragged himself over to his closet, grabbing the lip gloss in the process. He shuffled through hangers of clothes, finally pulling out a girls uniform he bought from when he was in high school. He never wore it to school, choosing to wear the boys uniform, but he thought it’d be nice to have when he was feeling fruity.
Slipping on the skirt and cardigan, he walked over to his desk mirror. He unscrewed the wand from the tube of lip gloss, tentatively applying it generously to his lips. He shrugged. He figured he could do some more makeup. It’s not like he’s busy today, right?
Carefully winging the tip of his eyeliner, he took a step back and admired himself in the mirror. He looked cute, yeah, but cute wasn’t really his style. It screamed ‘cute femboy’ rather than his usual ‘sexy ass drag queen dominatrix who could step on you with their sharp ass knife heels’
Damn. He was really about to go all out, huh? Time to bring out the butt pads and fake boobs.
————
Sighing contently in front of the mirror, (y/n) did a little spin, puffing out the length of his dress. Damn, he was hot. And with his impossibly high monster heels? Take me now.
(Y/n) was in the midst of taking a couple cute selfies in front of his full length mirror, when his screen went grey and a caller ID appeared.
‘Incoming call - Daikkun!! <3’
(Y/n) smiled unconsciously and clicked the bright green button with his thumb. He brought his phone to his ear and twirled a piece of his faux wig with his finger.
“Hi Daikkun! Did you need something, cutie?”
“Are you still coming over?” Daichis voice was hushed, and the slam of volleyballs rang though his speaker.
“Uh-what for?”
“To meet my team? Where are you?”
Fuck.
(Y/n) paled as he eyed himself in the mirror. He couldn’t show up looking like that. And it was too much to take off before Daichis practice ended. This was the only time he had to meet this team Daichi had always been talking about, and he’d completely forgot.
“...I can’t, I look like a clown.” (Y/n’s) voice came out a hoarse, nervous-chuckly whisper. He could taste the expensive red lipstick sitting on his lips.
“I’m sure you don’t look that bad.”
“Dude no, you don’t understand.” (Y/n) picked at the hem of his dress, the silicone boobs suddenly squeezing his chest a bit too tightly. “I’m in full drag.”
A silence rang out from both sides of the line. Daichi awkwardly chuckled.
“Ahaha uh-didn’t you say you didn’t have work today?”
“No! No I-I don’t have work til like-later later but like-I got bored and I forgot I was gonna meet your team today...sorry-“
“Well I’m sure they won’t mind if you show up in drag. I mean-they seemed pretty ok with knowing we’re a thing so...?”
(Y/n) gulped.
“...I guess I’ll see you in ten minutes then.”
—————
“Good work everyone!”
Ukai dismissed the players, leaving them to start rolling up the net and cleaning up the gym. Sugawara jogged up to the captain, dragging his mop lazily behind him.
“You said your boyfriend was gonna come today, right? Where is he?”
“Uh,” Daichi checked his wrist, before realizing he didn’t have a watch and fished out his phone. “He should be here any minute now-“
Just in time, the doors to the gym creaked open. Daichi smiled, leaving Suga to trail behind him curiously. He reached for the door handle, giving it a firm pull.
In stepped a boy with a long synthetic wig on, and heels that made him tower over Daichi easily. The sharp platforms of his heels clicked with each step he took, jewelry and accessories also bobbing up and down. And not to mention the ‘bobbling’ the silicone boobs made. Jeez, even if they were fake, they did still jiggle a hell of a lot.
(Y/n) bent down daintily, pressing a kiss onto Daichi’s cheek. Lipstick smeared on his sweaty cheek, leaving a dark imprint on the side of his face. (Y/n) seemed to finally take notice of all the astonished stares directed at him.
Should he A, stand beside his boyfriend awkwardly and pick at the loose thread of his dress or B, put on his confident drag persona and play it off?
He chose B.
(Y/n) smirked and leaned on on of his feet, placing a hand on his hip. “What? Like what you see, boys? I’m afraid I’m already taken, though.”
Fuck. Fuck fuck. Fuck. Even with the confident display, (y/n) couldn’t help but stay somewhat behind Daichi, trying to shrink behind his 10 inch heels.
Immediately, a bald guy and a kid with a bleached strip on the front of his head erupted into excitement.
“Yo! Sick dress, dude!”
The atmosphere lightened up tremendously. (Y/n) let go of a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
“Well thank you, Mr. Bleach strip.”
The bald one, who introduced himself as ‘Tanaka’, slapped Daichi on the back. “Dude! What’s with all the surprises?! You tell us you have a boyfriend but you didn’t tell us he was a drag queen?!”
“I-to be honest I didn’t know he was in drag today-I didn’t know he had work.”
The closet door opened, with Hinata and Kageyama walking out from placing the net inside. Hinata gasped excitedly, while Kageyama froze. Hinata practically bolted towards the unknown person wearing heels and jumped up to his height. (Y/n) choked on air. This kid practically flew at him.
“Wow! Are you one of those ‘drag queens’ I see on tv sometimes?! Cool! That’s so cool! I-“
“ARE YOU QUIMCHI?!”
Hinatas throat closed up, along with (y/n) after hearing his stage name being called out so...dramatically. The boy continued.
“...F-FROM THAT ONE INTERVIEW THEY DID ON THAT ONE CLUB ON THE LATE NIGHT SHOW WITH SHIN’ICHI HATORI?!”
Kageyamas booming voice rang through the gym as he pointed at (y/n) with wide eyes. Everyone’s gaze went from (y/n) to Kageyama, who was frozen in place. Even (y/n) was a tad bit confused.
The club he worked at recently had a special done on TV, and (y/n) was only in the background. He didn’t know how this...boy recognized him from that, or why he was even watching the drag special on that show in the first place.
“...yeah...yeah I am,” (y/n) smiled awkwardly and a boy with blond hair and glasses chuckled from somewhere in the gym.
The boy, with another guy with dark-green hair, walked out from the storage closet aswell. “Who knew the king was into that kind of stuff? Drag queens? No disrespect, ma’am-sir.”
Kageyama seemed to unfreeze just to glare at Tsukishima with a flushed face. “I-IM NOT! MY STUPID SISTERS JUST A BIG FAN, IS ALL!“
Kageyama turned to (y/n), and marched scarily fast towards him. He stopped abruptly and bowed his head so far it made (y/n) take a step back.
“M-MAY I HAVE AN AUTOGRAPH FOR MY SISTER?! AN-AND MAYBE A PHOTO TOO?!” Kageyama stiffly held his arms to his sides as he kept his head down. Small chuckles and snorts sounded from all around the gym, (y/n) even joining in and patting the black haired boys head.
“Sure thing, doll.”

“Your team was nicer than I thought.”
Daichi looked up questionably, fastening his seatbelt. (Y/n) started up his car. “What do you mean, nicer?”
“Well-I thought they were gonna be a bunch of meatheads banging their heads together. They’re actually more interesting than I thought they were going to be. Especially that Kageyama guy.”
Daichi smiled contently. “I’m glad you like them, then.”
A comfortable silence breezed by them, the only sounds audible being the hum of the car engine and the soft tapping of Daichis nails against the armrest. Daichi stole a glance at (y/n). His wig was discarded, placed neatly on the backseat with the wig cap and hairpins resting underneath it, and his hair was slightly damp and messy due to being constricted. His lipstick was a bit smeared from when he kissed him on the cheek, and droplets of sweat gathered near his hairline.
Daichi set his fingers lightly on the spot where the lipstick mark sat, caressing it softly so the lipstick wouldn’t smear more that it already has. He exhaled softly and shifted his gaze back down. He wouldn’t mind if he came to his practice again.
“...so wanna come to my show tonight, Daikkun?”
“It’s at 2am, no.”
