A hate crime today…this guy a really good friend. After this other guy proposed.to me he spent over fifteen hours read romantic poetry and raps he wrote on the spot to me we talke in depth and he proposed and say he is in love and not looking for it anything serious..later we met a friend. Then he started getting extremely aggressive and angry and upset they had some mutual friends something and some thing happen .Later I go running I was defeated the guy left me I was shaking and can't even move..I go running and a walk and shopping for a friend and tell this person he is upsetting me and I don't know why they don't ever talk they won't talk to anyone but wlth  someone before or hung out with someone. We spent a few hours then he got some drinks. Then I had to go to bed and left. A few weeks later it was cold winter the guy got on the bus it had many many people on it packed all the way and late at night going to community shelter.i didn't see him get on he was sit there stared at me hatefully and insane never have had someone stare that evil it was like a pen drop. I had zero clue why he is so enraged it was like lazers stabbing into, it was dead silent I tried to say a comment the bus was dead silent and I can't even breathe I fall over and sit there , the bus ride went on I'm shaking and can barely even see from the tears I said hey and ask if he going to stay at the community shelter as..well. I was so terrified . The guy left me and I can't barely even stand up stabbing pain and I'm sick im like away wonder what he is upset from I emailed him one time a few weeks ago say hey. It was terrifying he was so angry I have no clue. I moved seats and try to turn he is deafening silent I didn't ask about him, he won't answer. The bus finally stop I rush off and say hey are you leaving. I have no idea I'm so sick from surviving another hate crime I don't even know what to do. I cry and cry everyday I can't barely even voice cause I'm so sick and crush I cry and my eyes are so dry I can barely even see over two months go by like that. You have to stay in the street for hours on end and wait  stay with anyone there and he won't talk or answer anything it's terrifying but so many might not have a place to go it horrible. Then weeks later few weeks later he has new group of guys I tried not to thake the bus that entire week..I walk miles and miles just to do a few things for work literally almost nothing I could get done for days. One day a few weeks I took the bus again, they are there again he sitting there and a new group of guys..by random chance I was looking for someone but they weren't there . Then I stood there shaking sick to my stomach. Only moments then his new friend the guy walks away and another of the guys walks away. Then moments later he returns, I'm crying so much from a previous event later I literally could barely see..then walking by his friend or the guy immediately starts calling out staring at me saying racial slurs hateful even longer comments about me I felt him stabbing hlme.again he sits there silent smiling and the pain stabs in to me how the guy keeps saying racial slurs and saying I'm mental.inferior and the court case he wouldn't help me.only her or someone I can't breathe remembering. I can't even approach them to give them a road knor some food or cash he is so violence I run past screaming choking  and evilt comments I never even met this person the other guy sit there listening and smiling like being stabbed over and over I rush away can't even breath see them cracking up like and cakcling I can't even see. I wake up again days later in cold sweats sick to my stomach seeing the look their faces and him sit there staring as the guy says the comments stabbing me beating me down again I can't even breath I try scema. Knowing not know where they're doing again.

A közelmúltban újra kedvem támadt a ’80-as évek közepéről származó heavy metal albumokat, olyan „fapados” old school zenéket hallgatni, amelyeket eddig nem ismertem. Így akadt a horgomra a holland Dark Wizard első hivatalos kiadványa, az ötszámos Devil’s Victim EP is. És hogy miért nem az egy évvel későbbi nagylemezre, a Reign of Evilre vetettem szemet? Talán az EP látványos borítója ejtett rabul, amiről nem is annyira egy gonosz varázsló, mint egy titokzatos, bohócmaszkos sorozatgyilkos vagy a tradicionális japán színház, a kabuki groteszk karakterei jutnak eszembe.

A csapat a ’80-as évek elején alakult, akkor még Bliand néven. 1983-ban lett belőlük Dark Wizard. Négy demó elkészítését követően kötött velük szerződést a belga Mausoleum Records, együttműködésük első gyümölcse az idén 40 éves Devil’s Victim EP lett. A zenekar felállása addigra megszilárdult: Berto van Veen énekes mellett Hans Pol gitározott, Kees Reinders bőgőzött és Tony White (eredeti neve Wuite) dobolt.

A Dark Wizardot akkoriban a black metal bandák közé sorolták. Nem a stílusuk vagy a hangzásuk miatt, hiszen alapvetően dallamos muzsikát játszottak, hanem mert a Sátánról énekeltek, és mert koncertjeiken horrorshowt adtak elő: két kabala-szörnyalakjuk, Mr. Nice és Dr. Doom koporsóból mászott ki, s a vérfagyasztó jelenetek mellé komoly pirotechnikai bemutatót is kapott a közönség.

A csapat, amely a ’80-as években az európai színtér második-harmadik vonalába tartozott, zenéjével nyilván nem váltotta meg a világot, ám már ezen az EP-n is meglepően érett, kerek produkcióval rukkoltak elő: a dalok hallgattatják magát, megmaradnak a hallgatóban. Ez az öt számból álló dalcsokor is bizonyítja, hogy egy produkciónak nem kell hosszúnak lennie ahhoz, hogy maga mellé állítsa a műfaj szerelmeseit. A Dark Wizard muzsikája olyan kortárs csapatok zenéjével rokonítható, mint a honfitárs Picture, a német Breaker és Living Death, vagy a brit Angel Witch és Diamond Head, sőt, a korai Iron Maiden. Utóbbival a közös nevezőt – a dallamvilág mellett – a hangsúlyos basszusjáték jelenti.     

A középtempós Trip to Doom egy-egy motívuma más zenekaroktól is ismerős lehet, összességében azonban egyik példakép hatása sem mondható dominánsnak. A Poisoned Whiskey az első demón még Poison Whiskeyként szerepelt, aztán nyilván szólt valaki a fiúknak, hogy a Lynyrd Skynyrdnak is van egy dala ilyen címmel… A hollandok szerzeménye pörgős rock and roll, már-már speed metal, „kapkodós” gitárszólóval. A vontatottan induló Big Typhoon is remekül felpörög a közepén, és egy sebességfokozattal lejjebb a Mr. Nice-szal is ez történik. A szűk 22 perces alkotás erényei közé sorolom még a hangulatát: a dalok tényleg visszarepítenek fiatalkoromba, a ’80-as évek heavy metaljának világába.

Nem hallottam a folytatást, de ez az EP tényleg ígéretes kezdet volt. Kár, hogy az anyag megjelenését követő tagcserék megtörték a csapat pályájának ívét. 1984 végén a gitáros Hans Pol távozott a zenekarból. A helyére átmeneti jelleggel George Gomies került, első nagylemezüket, az 1985-ös Reign of Evilt pedig már Marcel de Groot közreműködésével rögzítették.      

Az album jó kritikákat kapott, ezen kívül azonban semmilyen előrelépés nem történt. A banda és a Mausoleum Records között talán ezért is romlott meg a viszony; új kiadót kerestek maguknak, de nem jártak sikerrel. Még írtak néhány új nótát, amiket élőben is játszottak, ám mivel nem volt esélyük a következő nagylemez elkészítésére, a ’80-as évek végén feloszlottak.   

A tagok ezt követően más együttesekben is megfordultak, az eredeti csapat visszatérését azonban lehetetlenné tette, hogy énekesük, Berto van Veen időközben egy keresztény szekta tagja lett. Az egykori Under Siege-, Mystic Charm-, Jagannath-frontember, Egbert Berenst, aki nagy Dark Wizard-rajongó volt, már 2005-ben felajánlotta, hogy szívesen csatlakozna a bandához, amire az alapítók akkor még nemet mondtak, azonban a mélyben valami erjedni kezdett, ugyanis a zenekar 2011-ben újra aktivizálta magát, hét évvel később pedig – Berenst énekével – második nagylemezük, a Close in the Dark is napvilágot látott. Mivel Hans Pol 2016-ban sajnálatos módon elhunyt, az anyag gitártémáit Marcel Hop játszotta fel.

A csapat állítólag ma is létezik, bár annak nem találtam nyomát, hogy koncerteznének is. A hangszeresek ugyanazok, akik a 2018-as nagylemezt is jegyzik. Az énekesük 2022 elején egy csinos szőke hölgy, Karin van der Veen volt (aki valószínűleg csupán névrokona az egykori frontembernek), azóta viszont gyanúsan nagy a csend a zenekar körül. 

Első kiadványuk szimpatikus alkotás, bátran ajánlom a korabeli muzsikák kedvelőinek, és mivel a ’85-ös LP-ről is jókat olvastam, én valószínűleg azzal is meg fogok ismerkedni.

she was like "i kept hoping at least one of them would mention the problem of The Guns, you know, to be Fair and Balanced, but they didn't!!!"

she was so offended
