does anyone else remember back in (I think) the entertainment era when Awsten did an interview for a magazine, rock sound or altpress I think, where he said he would never have another vocalist feature on a waterparks song because his lyrics were too personal to have anyone else sing? idk for some reason I just have this strong memory of reading this interview so I was seriously shocked to see features with other artists on this album

no he’s said that before i just don’t have the source on my rn bc i think it might’ve been a video interview but he’s said that in the past to explain why they really didn’t do a lot of features. i think the combo of awsten trying to slowly let other people take the reigns in parx’s writing + building more industry connections + probably a lack of inspiration himself makes the songs we’ve heard so far sound Like That because i feel like you can obviously tell someone else put the words in his mouth, making him come off as more ingenuine and tryhard - iz

A song by a band you wish were still together: The only ones I know off the top of my head that I like that broke up are Cobra Starship, MCR, and Panic at the Disco... I do not actually look into the bands I like until I start hunting down all their songs to make sure I hear them all and find out along the way that they haven't made music in 6 years

Oh right and MCR did get back together (Or are... Just doing a tour?), so that takes me down to 2

I have looked through every song on my phone and the majority of the things I listen to are either by solo artists, bands that are still together, or random files I've found online that I thought were good enough to download

So with all that said... I guess I am once again picking- WAIT STOP THE PRESSES

HAHHAHA okay it is weird tho cause I see that as totally separate from professionally, but coolly enough professionally the answer is actually only 2!!

I grew up going to concerts for a band (Paradise Fears) that toured with a guy named Anthony Li’s band (Action Item) a lot before, and I grew to know Anthony pretty well because I wasn’t there to see his band / didn’t really care about him but he was around all the time so we talked a lot and we’re aquainted.

So 1) Anthony moved to LA and would up becoming Halsey’s manager. We’re not still in contact or anything, but are FB friends and he’d know who I am in the context of you talking about the band and those days to him. And then 2) Halsey -> Taylor!
