Made a new playlist with over 3000 songs (yeah I’m amazed too. A lot of them are dupes though I know there are many versions of The Black Parade (album) on there). I have some stuff to say about it
I want to make some kind of funny comment about how you can get the cheerfulness of some really fun band on here (probably TØP or Anthrax) followed by the gloom of another band (probably Slayer or Black Sabbath) but the thing is I think all the bands on the playlist have at least a few songs about dispair - MCR have an entire album about dying of cancer, P!atD have Don’t Let The Light Go Out, FOB have Novocaine (because I can’t think of anything darker), TØP have many songs about despair, Metallica have an entire album about death, Megadeth have quite a few songs about death, Anthrax have Black Lodge, Slayer are just known for that tone, Judas Priest have an entire album about how the government sucks (also apparently Brain Dead is really dark but unfortunately the albums by the band with that singer aren’t on Apple Music so I don’t know how it goes. I did try to look for it one time with the knowledge there was a Judas Priest song about locked in syndrome and I found Locked In. That’s actually how I warmed up to Locked In. I also wanted to listen to those two albums for the first time alongside listening to the albums by Iron Maiden with a different singer (I believe that was Blaze) but I couldn’t find the Judas Priest albums so I never got around to it. I did today listen to Futureal for the first time and it’s a great song), Iron Maiden have some darker songs I guess Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter’s a good example and Black Sabbath have quite a few songs as well with a darker tone so yeah. If anything I’d say the biggest contrast in tone is going from an Anthrax song to a Slayer song but I wanted to make the joke about two bands I hadn’t put together on a playlist before. I guess it would be funny if after Planetary ended I got God Is Dead though
One of the earliest songs I listened to on this listen of some of the playlist was Novocaine. Anyway, little while later The Phoenix came on and I could see it was The Phoenix. I seemed to have the vague thought it was the FOB song I thought was more well-known than it probably actually is (I was thinking of Centuries) and multiple times (I think it was a few more than four times) I wanted to sing the lyrics to Novocaine instead of The Phoenix including believing the “na na na na na” stuff at the beginning of Novocaine was in The Phoenix. I swear I know The Phoenix well
I also got Planetary fairly early and was for some reason convinced I didn’t have a song I associated with the Proto Beasts to match how I associate Planetary with the Neo Swords (comparing it to Skin O’ My Teeth, another song I associate with the Neo Swords without having a Proto Beast “counterpart”). The next time an MCR song turned up it was Destroya which is exactly the Proto Beast “counterpart” to Planetary I forgot existed. A better example of a second song I associate with the Neo Swords without having a Proto Beast “counterpart” is Electric Eye. Technically I associate The Hellion with both trios but if I know Electric Eye is immediately afterwards I can associate it with just the Neo Swords (I actually had to take a break from making this post because Skin O’ My Teeth turned up and the next song I didn’t skip was Black Curtains which I associate with the Proto Beasts so I just got immediately back up again. Next was New World Order which I associate with both trios but I couldn’t be bothered to get back up again)
Fittingly the first song that I got was Sugar We’re Going Down (first FOB song I listened to) and as I’m writing this part I’m listening to I Write Sins Not Tragedies, the song I used in order to get into P!atD at the same time
I feel like I’m not getting many FOB, TØP of Slayer songs but Slayer definitely doesn’t surprise me. If anything, I’m surprised I listened to one (yes, just one - Expendable Youth). And I think I’ve had about one P!atD song

MCR 30 days challenge
Day 27, saddest song: The Light Behind Your Eyes
Hard pick today because they do not shy away from sad songs LOL. Ended up settling on The Light Behind Your Eyes because the lyrics destroy me every time. I also discarded a lot of songs that I predicted would get this spot, becuase I thinking they are giving more "despair" rather than "sadness", like The Ghost of You for example.
Honourable mentions:
Desert Song
Cancer
Disenchanted
Demolition Lovers

Hiiii I have a question (or discussion??) That I think you'd be most likely to be able to answer or give input on!!
Is Blood - End Credits (My Chemical Romance) about war, donating blood, or vampires? Multiple at once? Any of those as a metaphor? (I know it's a metaphor but still)
ooooh, my chemical romance song analysis!!!
i think there's multiple ways to look at it- through the lens of the album's story, from what the band members were feeling like at the time, from a personal perspective, or from whatever fun fantasy interpretation you feel like, because no analysis is bad as long as you can back it up lol.
from looking at the story of the album and the themes, it's definitely a continuation of multiple album concepts- the patient's self loathing and time in the hospital, the effects of war, the idea of society trying to control people, disillusionment, etc. For example, Gerard sings that he's "such an awful fuck" and "human wreckage"; these ideas of self hate are seen throughout the album ("I'd encourage your smiles/ I'll expect you won't cry", "tell me I'm a bad man", "I'm the one that you loathe".) He's also obviously talking about time in the hospital- "doctors and nurses" and "gurneys"- and the Patient is implied to have died in the hospital from the heart monitor flatline in the beginning of "Dead!" and, well, the entirety of "Cancer".
The idea of war, seen most prominently in "Mama", is continued here too; the idea of giving your blood and life, and it never being enough, and the government "encourag[ing] your complete cooperation". The theme of control, of some "they" being in charge, is also seen in "Teenagers" and "Disenchanted"- whether its the government, parents, or the media, someone is in charge, and you are expected to be perfect, give your all, do as you're told- give them "all that they could drink" so you can become "another cog in the murder machine".
So, so far, "Blood" is about the Patient dying in the hospital, self-loathing, imperialism, and societal pressure. Fun!
Some of those things carry over to the band themselves; at the time The Black Parade was being written, the band members' mental health was really bad, they were having nightmares, abusing substances, and they'd gotten huge after Three Cheers blew up so they probably felt a huge amount of pressure. They were out there, feeling like shit, while being expected to give huge parts of themselves to their music and make hits. "They" would then refer to a few things- record labels and execs, fans, and (for lack of a better word) haters. On one side, they're expected to produce another huge album; on the other, they're being called a death cult, which is definitely a Lot.
From a personal perspective, this song is really relatable in a way I find funny- I was so stressed from the pressures of school, work, and my family life that I ended up being hospitalized. I got a lot of bloodwork done because they were so confused as to why I kept passing out and getting migraines (everything came back normal, so. stress, i suppose.) I kept laying there in the hospital, singing "Blood" to keep myself from thinking too much about the needle in my arm.
In terms of the song being about vampires, I think that would be a really fun analysis. My Chemical Romance mentions vampires in a lot of their songs; maybe the singer has been abducted by vampires, or maybe someone is in a hospital with a vampire doctor à la Carlisle Cullen. I don't have the brainpower to figure out all the connections right now, but you could make a convincing story if you tied in other MCR songs that talk about vampires.

ive seen ur posts mentioning u have thoughts on queer perspective towards death and how mcr fit into it so. if u ever decide to share other ideas on the topic id love to read it! (i think ur really good at getting your thoughts accross) (u dont have to answer btw i just wasnt sure abt shooting a dm abt this)
it’s been so long i’m so sorry um i have a lot of thoughts idk if u still want them here’s an attempt at a short version...
edit: changing this to under a cut cuz it’s insanely long. if u don’t feel like reading almost 1.5k words probably don’t read it.
basically i think that mortality and death are very common things for all humans to think about and make art about because we’re kinda... obsessed with and extremely afraid of death. which (i think) stems from how death is one of the few things we know is going to happen to us, and yet we can’t understand it really. we know it is the end but we cannot know anything about it because it is the end. so that intrigues us (and makes us afraid) and then u can add in how we see other people in our life die before we do... basically it all adds up to us being obsessed with understanding and defying our own mortality somehow.
we can see this theme in mcr a lot, the interplay between mortality and defiance and hope... i call it hope vs inevitability and i think it’s especially noticeable in bullets and danger days, because in the other two they’re not really fighting so much as existing side by side... i wrote in notes once that in those albums, the hope is in the inevitable...
in black parade it’s pretty much totally like this; after you die you join the black parade, and your memory will carry on. there is fear going into it, but it very much feels like an album accepting and even embracing the end, not fighting it. accepting it and embracing it with this crazy tone... come one come all to this tragic affair. wipe off that makeup, what’s in is despair... (note: i used to think that line was what sin is despair and i still wonder if that was on purpose). revenge is a bit more complex but i have always thought that beyond the hope of getting the girl back, of bringing her back to life (against the end, against death and mortality) there must also be some relief in death for the guy demo lover... if you would kill a thousand men to get your lover back from the dead, would you die to meet them there? <- maybe i’m wrong; there is still hope vs inevitability here.
in danger days and bullets, though, is where i feel like we see those things ultimately fight; in bullets we have this desperate desire to be immortal and mean something, coupled with the strong feeling that you will die with nothing. that you will die. (i have a post on this theme in the song demolition lovers). then, in danger days we see this theme come with this absolute denial of mortality (killjoys never die) coupled with this intense fear of death and being remembered wrong or not at all. and of course this culminates in them dying. (here is my post on this theme in danger days it’s kinda a mess but so is this post so whatever).
right so we’ve established mcr (and humanity in general) is obsessed with mortality we already knew that though. what does it have to do with queerness.
basically there’s a couple things.
1. the connection of both otherness and love with death (note: this also applies to a lot of minorities but queerness is what’s really applicable to mcr specifically). the extent to which mcr intertwines narratives of love and otherness with death and violence is.... a lot. we see it in every album, i believe; it’s most noticeable in bullets in drowning lessons and demo lovers, in revenge in so many songs i’m not going to try to list them, in black parade in cancer, wttbp and my way home is through you, and in danger days in save yourself, only hope for me, and scarecrow. this was just off the top of my head; there’s probably more songs with examples of this.
this is very queer (at least when done by mcr; as most of mcr is white the issues that come with things like the history of interracial marriage, etc. don’t really apply) because of how for queer people our identities and love can be deadly to us... the history of queer love and identity is obviously marked with violence against the people displaying that love and identity.
straight cis white guys don’t usually talk about death with the connection with love at the forefront, at least not that i’ve seen. every once in awhile they do, i guess, if they’re talking about grief, but otherwise, no. demo lovers is my favorite example of the connection of love with death; especially in the first couple verses, the two seem so linked. the first 2 mentions of death or the end in the song are immediately followed by “with you”... “i’d end my days with you in a hail of bullets,” and “i would drive on to the end with you.”
in the whole demo lovers arc, through bullets and revenge, the themes of death and love are so intertwined it’s impossible to untangle them. if i tried to make a post of all the times in revenge death and love are talked about in the same lyric, as if one thing, i would be screenshotting lyrics all night. of course, if we bring in gwgt theory, and start thinking about how the girl and guy demo lovers are a metaphor for gerard’s relationship with his gender, we can go way further with this too. the simultaneous love story involving these parts of himself, and intertwined violence and death. the fear present... the lyrics that talk at the same time about hurting yourself and being hurt by others... but that’s a different post, really. i’m gonna try to stay more surface level. no speculating on metaphors (today).
in black parade i think we see the connection of otherness with death a lot more than the connection with love, although they’re both still present... in danger days the concept of otherness when associated with death is super clear: killjoys defy the city and become something “other,” which is scorned and hated by BLI/nd, and they get killed for it. love is also a pretty common theme in danger days songs, often intertwined with death, though less obviously than in revenge.
2. just... the extent to which this idea of mortality and death and immortality and memory is talked about is interesting in itself i think. this obsession with our legacy and our mortality is present in a lot of stuff, not just queer stuff, but it’s just everywhere in mcr’s discography (and a lot of the subsequent groups of music related to/associated with mcr, which are also often known for being queer). they constantly talk about how they’ll die, and how they’ll die sooner rather than later, and can they live forever anyway, what does immortality mean after all, will they be remembered, what will their legacy be... etc.
memory and legacy is something i haven’t really talked about, but i think it’s also essential to the conversation. for obvious reasons queer people (and people of a lot of other minorities but i’m only talking about the queer part cuz it’s the most/the only applicable thing here) have a more complicated relationship with how we’ll be remembered and whether we’ll be remembered than cishet people do. how mcr talks about this reminds me a lot of the sappho fragment tumblr passes around ever so often... “someone will remember us / i say / even in another time.” (comparison/parallels post of mcr lyrics and that quote by @milfygerard (and added onto by me) here.)
and that brings us back around to the theme of hope vs inevitability... as i mentioned earlier, this theme isn’t necessarily totally queer on it’s own, but as with talking about memory and legacy the way mcr does, if you talk about it so much that it becomes a core theme in all of your albums it ends up feeling a lot more queer than before. hope vs inevitability in mcr’s work connects to love and death and both at once and is just everywhere. and it ends up connecting to the way a lot of queer people think about our death and our mortality and our hope. and how the future and the past are thought about in connection to these themes i think is kind of queer too — when your history is barely spoken and your present is in hiding, of course you look to the future. despite that that means looking towards the ending. and maybe you embrace that ending, because what else is there to do?
i’m very sorry. this was not short. if you have questions, or want to tell me how i’m wrong, or have your own thoughts, do not be afraid to dm me or send me asks please... fascinating topic.

I saw in one of your tags that you mentioned how 21 pilots made emo pretentious and im actually curious about why you say that (not hate i just never knew about them that much)
my friend you have asked me about a topic i am very knowledgeable and very angry about so prepare yourself for what you have wrought
it isnt just twenty one pilots but theyre just the biggest and most popular example
like. take my chemical romance in the early-mid 2000s aka the peak of emo. it was very melodramatic and theatrical, the way emo should be. there was a presence of “we are not like other people” in a lot of the songs, but it was never just that. it was more of a “we have been cast out and we kinda suck but thats okay.” one of the best examples of this is, ironically, i’m not okay.
take, for example, the opening to the mtv music video:
[Ray] You like D&D, Audrey Hepburn, Fangoria, Harry Houdini and croquet. You can't swim, you can't dance and you don't know karate. Face it, you're never gonna make it. [Gerard] I don't wanna make it, I just wanna...
this immediately establishes the song as being about social outcasts and people who dont fit the mold. the fucking tag line of the song is “i’m not okay” ffs, that really tells you all you need to know about the song. but the important thing is it doesnt take itself too seriously either. the music video takes place in a private school, and shows scenes of the band members eating lunch alone, being bullied by jocks and preps, etc., but it ALSO shows scenes of frank putting swim goggles on in chemistry class and ray drawing on his test with a crayon and then licking it, and at the end they all ambush and beat the shit out of a guy in a mascot costume. all of this is cut up by text saying things like “if you ever felt alone” “if you ever felt wronged” “if you ever felt anxious”
do you see the juxtaposition here? the music video could very very easily be a fake deep bullying psa, but its not, because while theyre getting bullied and playing their music in a garage they are also, unequivocally, total fucking losers for obvious comedic effect. it is a very exaggerated and lighthearted version of real phenomena, which makes it more relatable to a wider audience.
the same can be said about the song itself. it has some pretty heavy and angsty lyrics (”i’m not o-fucking-kay”) but the instrumentals are punchy and energetic and catchy and gerard’s vocal delivery is very theatrical but also very deliberate and he still puts real emotion in the words. it sounds like its taking the piss out of not being okay, which is exactly what i as a clinically depressed 13 year old needed, and i bet a lot of other people can say the same. i’m a loser and thats okay. i fucking suck in school and thats okay. i feel shitty and thats okay. i’m not okay and that, in itself, is okay.
with twenty one pilots, on the other hand, there is no theatrics, theres no taking the piss, theres no over-the-top melodrama that made emo what it was.
take, for comparison, the opening lines of heathens:
All my friends are heathens, take it slow Wait for them to ask you who you know Please don't make any sudden moves You don't know the half of the abuse
and this presents, immediately, one of my biggest criticisms of twenty one pilots: their rampant appropriation of mental illness.
because my first thought when hearing this is as an abuse survivor and someone with ptsd they can kiss every single square inch of my ass.
Welcome to the room of people Who have rooms of people that they loved one day Docked away Just because we check the guns at the door Doesn't mean our brains will change from hand grenades You're loving on the psychopath sitting next to you You're loving on the murderer sitting next to you You'll think, "How'd I get here, sitting next to you?"
they try to do the same kind of nuanced poetic lyrics that my chemical romance did and in my opinion is just doesnt fucking work because they take themselves SO. FUCKING. SERIOUSLY. it sounds JOYLESS.
and the song closes out with this:
Why'd you come? You knew you should have stayed (It's blasphemy) I tried to warn you just to stay away (Away) And now they're outside ready to bust (To bust) It looks like you might be one of us
this is what i mean by pretentious. there is a clear separation of the person/people from whose point of view the song is told and the people the song is meant to be listened to by from the greater population, but theres no high energy or comedic self deprecation to counteract it.
now take some lyrics from heavydirtysoul, a song i actually really like the sound of, im not just shitting on this band bc its not to my taste yall:
There's an infestation in my mind's imagination I hope that they choke on smoke 'cause I'm smoking them out the basement This is not rap, this is not hip-hop Just another attempt to make the voices stop
Nah, I didn't understand a thing you said If I didn't know better I'd guess you're all already dead Mindless zombies walking around with a limp and a hunch Saying stuff like, "You only live once." You've got one time to figure it out One time to twist and one time to shout One time to think and I say we start now Sing it with me if you know what I'm talking about
right back at it again with that appropriation of mental illness symptoms! and some dumbass critique of our generation that doesnt fit in with the rest of the song at all, closing out the verse with “we are not like you” shit. the vocal delivery at least has more energy than heathens, but the lyrics just feel like a mishmash of different points theyre trying to make that have nothing to do with each other.
the best line of the song is undoubtedly “death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit” but its poetic just... for the sake of being poetic? its one of those lyrics that sounds like someone came up with and was like “bro we gotta put that in a song” but then couldnt actually figure out how to fit it into a song in a way that would flow. another example of this is “i cant drown my demons they know how to swim” in bring me the horizon’s can you feel my heart. not shitting on bring me the horizon, i really like sempiternal, but thats another line thats just poetic for the sake of being poetic. and to be put on t-shirts. i know this because when i was 12 i had a shirt that said “i cant drown my demons they know how to swim” on it.
i could do more analysis on other mcr songs, namely welcome to the black parade and famous last words, but i would be here for literal hours and idk if people actually care that much.
to sum my points up:
they take themselves too seriously. they appropriate and romanticize mental illness (forgot to mention that top’s website, at one time, described their music as “schizoid pop” lol). they pull a lot of “We Are Not Like Other People..,.,.,,...” shit.
that last point is not inherently a bad thing, for example the new slipknot album is literally called “we are not your kind” but the song that contains that line as a lyric is all out life, and corey taylor is screaming that entire song and the instrumentals are reminiscent of speed metal with how fucking energetic they are. its edgy and its GREAT. twenty one pilots just sounds like they think theyre the shit.
also, and i want you to read the following sentence in a bass boosted voice to best understand how i feel when i say this:
the twenty one pilots cover of cancer is an embarrassment that completely misses the point of the original song and changed it into a weird amalgamation of lo-fi synth pop.
emo music is dead. thank u and goodnight.

Match-Up!
Hello! I was hoping I could get a matchup? I’m a 5 foot 4 in plus size Agender person with short brown hair with hazel eyes, I have pale skin and a couple freckles on my cheeks and shoulders. I’m an ISFP, cancer-Leo cusp, hogwarts house is Slytherin. I feel like I should list some of my disorders? (Just for courtesy’s sake) I’m autistic (level 1), generalized anxiety, depression and I have ADHD (inattentive). Let’s see for hobbies I draw, paint (acrylics, oils), read, (1/2) 🍓
(2/2) 🍓 listen to music (I’m an emo at heart and love MCR and Black Sabbath) and exercise. As a person I’m pretty shy at first but I’m loyal and I need someone who I can put my trust and loyalty in without being used ;-; I couldn’t care what someone looks like since I’ll end up loving them regardless. I’m pretty eccentric and quirky once I trust you plus I love fucked up jokes (never bullying one’s tho) and I love gory humor and horror movies. I hope to be an artist someday ^^ thank you!! ❤️❤️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Congratulations! You got yourself an edgy bastard!
Things you have in common:
🕷 you both prefer to lean on actual facts and confirmed information rather than work with abstract concepts; as a couple in the middle of the New World, it’d allow you to become great strategists and let you avoid unnecessary trouble with the Navy
🕷 as an introvert you’d rather spend time alone, just like Law. That might lead you to enjoy the activities and hobbies you love while your lovable bastard indulges in his own studying or experimenting
🕷 the fact that you love gory humor and horror movies makes for an excellent partner for Law during his routine horror marathons. Finally, he’s found someone with whom he can make fun of absurd scenes or comment on special effects used; the rest of his crew isn’t necessarily a fan of gore/horror films, especially when accompanied by their spooky captain
🕷 the horrid events from Law’s past, as well as the choices he regrets, cause him to have strong PTSD and depression. Meeting you might help him face his problems faster and with more courage - he’d also be less hesitant to show his vulnerable side
🕷 he’s also a Slytherin ;) and, same as you, enjoys exercise - he always sticks to his carefully planned routine workouts
Things you will most likely argue about:
🕷 you can be spontaneous, which in Law’s mind poses as careless; he doesn’t see a point in taking any impulsive or unplanned actions and he always manages to find some sort of danger you exposed yourself to, needlessly - he’ll remind you about it on every possible occasion
🕷 sometimes you may feel a little off-balance, your emotions influencing your judgement - for Law, who tries to be as stable and rational as possible, it poses as a negligence or simply being reckless. It’s hard for him to understand that, sometimes, acting on your feelings rather than cold calculation may bring a better outcome
What he loves about you:
🕷 your sense of art and creativity - even though he’s not one to start painting or drawing, he loves to see your works and observe your process of creating a piece of art; it also calms him down and acts as an anchor
🕷 how loyal you are; since there are few people he can trust, it soothes his wrecked nerves knowing that, no matter what happens, he can count on you and your support, that you always have his back
🕷 that you’re also not a fan of loud gatherings as a way to spend free time - there are millions of things he wants to do or pick up as hobbies, so he’s more than glad not to be forced into attending parties or going out often; he just wants his peace and quiet and it gets even better when he has you by his side
How you would get together:
🕷 he’d probably catch you on watching a horror movie and shamelessly join in - it only escalates from there, his interest in you grows whenever he learns more about your personality and hobbies
Your Song: Demolition Lovers - My Chemical Romance
Bonus: he secretly likes to watch your eccentric side come out, whenever you feel comfortable and safe, for example around the members of his crew - he can’t help but smirk to himself when seeing how chirpy you can get

My Reaction to Jessicka’s Recent Twitter Drama and Other  Immature/Embarrassing Behavior
[Please see previous posts]
Jessicka Trips Up On Her Lies
Jessicka has backtracked slightly on her ‘Gerard Way the sexual abuser and domestic abuser’ stance.
Tumblr media
But a couple of days earlier she said this
Tumblr media
So... Which is it, Jessicka? Did you realize that you fucked up royally on this pathetic attempt to ruin the Ways?
Also, never let her forget that she compared these two people with the caption ‘Birds of a feather’. Unforgivable.
Tumblr media
#DIESLOW
I’ve seen a few people asking about the Gerard Way tweet “I’d smash your face for six bucks and a Dr. Pepper #dieslow”. In summary, this was tweeted out back in 2010 (I think) in response to an account that was deliberating sending abusive tweets to him. Around this time, he also called a fan a ‘cunt’ on twitter. I’m not condoning any of this, I think it’s disgusting but it also happened eight years ago and was dealt with at the time. Some more info about this here.  I actually can’t find an image of the tweet to include in this post. It appears that Jessicka and Christian have sought this tweet out to back up any the previous claims about Gerard Way being involved in ‘sexual misconduct’, Sending a “I’d smash your face tweet” doesn’t align with Gerard Way being a sexual abuser, however, it’s clear that Jessicka switches up her story to suit whatever narrative fits. Jessicka’s Headline: ‘EMO’ Gerard Way = bad guy
Jessicka is still banging on about this irrelevant tweet and using it as the backbone of her argument.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is this one tweet really worth the energy that she’s putting into it? All the drama had calmed down until Jessicka decided one day to to get offended by this tweet, a tweet that was published when she was friends with the Ways. Jessicka, if you had such a big problem with it then perhaps you could have discussed it at... hmm... I dunno? Mark Ryden’s Easter dinner? Or the the multiple art shows that you and Lindsey were involved in? Now seems like a very convenient time to make an issue out of a stupid tweet. Which brings me onto my next point.
Tumblr media
“But please understand this is not personal”. Not personal? So you just happen to have a problem with Gerard Way who is the husband of your exfriend? The other month there it was Jimmy Urine you had an issue with. The men that you have accused are both married to people you used to be friends with but this isn’t personal? On that subject, Jessicka and Christian used to beat the drum about Jimmy Urine being a ‘pedophile’. According to the Addams, Jimmy Urine ‘dated a 15 year old’. Their only ‘evidence’ (according to Jessicka) was that Lucinda Montano ‘confirmed’ it but guess what, there’s no evidence of that anywhere! Christian Addams in particular never shut up about Jimmy Urine being a ‘pedophile’ but that lie dried up fast. I guess the Addams’ must have an issue with Lindsey this week instead of Chantal.
The last thing on the ‘#dieslow’ tweet that the Addams have seemingly just discovered - Jessicka has sent similar tweets in the past. (x)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jessicka is a hypocrite! Next time she starts her shit about that tweet or any other tweet, please send her these tweets. I can already imagine the weakass excuses that she will come up with to distance herself from these tweets. The facts: She tweeted them like she’s tweeting the slanderous things out about Gerard Way. No excuses.
Shitty Teenagers
Jessicka and Christian Addams now decide what age you are and what gender you are.
Tumblr media
WRONG!
Tumblr media
Misgendering someone? Not cool. How do you know this person is a teenager? Is it because it suits your warped narrative?
So, they’ve also taken to deciding who is a teenager and who is not. I’m not sure what their thought process is for this one. Back when Jessicka leaked her own DMs, out of embarrassment, she accused a fan of hacking her account. Christian began to bully the accounts that were defending the accused but innocent, @poisondwarfiero. Even though the accounts said that they were teenagers, Christian decided against this most likely because they outsmarted him.
Tumblr media
I think that Jessicka and Christian are a tad out of touch. Being in their 40′s and not knowing any teenagers, I believe this has given them a skewed view of youth as demonstrated by Jessicka’s ridiculous ‘hacked’ account persona. To Jessicka, teenagers say ‘wack’ A LOT:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jessicka also thinks that teenagers talk like pirates. “It’s pride now she be bi” arrr! “She be out of the coven” ARRR!!!
Jessicka Tweeting Lindsey
Tumblr media
This tweets disgusts me. It’s another example of Jessicka taking the high-ground. She’s put Lindsey in a terrible position by challenging her in this way. Lindsey is never going to respond to this which for some people, may come across as uncaring. Why should Lindsey respond to this after Jessicka has revealed Steve Righ and Lindsey’s affair, outed the coven as the authors behind the NoWayMikeyWay blog, accused Jimmy Urine of statutory rape, accused Gerard Way of domestic and sexual abuse...  Why does Lindsey deserve any of your time? Since March you have tried to ruin her and her family. When did Lindsey ever claim to be humanitarian? Is this another label that Jessicka has put on to someone? .
I hate to say this but Jessicka uses her friend’s cancer when things are not going her way. After revealing to @poisondwarfiero that her friend has Stage 3 cancer, Jessicka then accused Lisa (@poisondwarfiero) of hacking her account even though it was Jessicka who leaked her own DMs. Jessicka is a very sick and disturbed person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know that this might be shocking for some but I’ve put if off long enough. Straight after the hacking accusation came another lie that all her messages were ‘deleted’ because of the ‘hack’, even the ones her former band mate, Scott who died of cancer (x).
Tumblr media
Throwing the ‘my friend has cancer card’ is despicable as is her recent behavior on her @JoJ_Official account. I’m sickened by the depths she will go to to get at Lindsey Way.
Jessicka, the Attention Seeking Child
Jessicka chooses to get offended by an old tweet by Gerard Way and she gets annoyed when others don’t share her irrational outrage.
Tumblr media
But as soon as people question her interest in tweet, Jessicka throws a fit and moves the topic of conversation over to cancer.
Tumblr media
“Why are you tweeting at me and not being proactive? Toxic fans like you can’t see that petty drama does not trump cancer. Period! And lastly: I am not a victim, I am survivor. Good luck.”
Says Jessicka who for the last 3/4 days has tweeted non-stop about a TWEET that Gerard Way published years ago. Jessicka has recently brought back the “petty drama” because she was bored or whatever. She can’t just disregard it now that she has tried and failed to drag Gerard Way’s name through the mud. She may be done with the “petty drama” (for now) because she is not winning but her taking the high-ground and playing the cancer card again isn’t going to redeem her in any way. Apparently, Jessicka dictates when a conversation starts and begins. The rules of her game are not fair.
Are We Done Here?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This condescending statement is something I’ve noticed over the last few months. It’s another way that this desperate couple try to assert dominance. They’re fucking idiots.
Christian Addams
Christian Addams is present purely because of his hatred of Gerard Way and the MCR fanbase. This is one of his tweets that is now deleted.
Tumblr media
“You are dick bags with no loyalty”. “Dumb dumb dumb fans”. Christian Addams is disgusting. Please continue to screencap any of his tweets before he deletes them.

This is hella creative
1. Soldier, Poet, King/ Choke/ I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (no shit it's 12:53am)/ Helena/ Taking Care Of Things/ Somewhere In Neverland
2. Shit. Idk! I'd love to meet multiple people. I mean I love the whole of MCR, but that's like 5 people. I know I act like such a 15 year old girl but tbh I'd love to meet Dan and Phil... Would you call 11 years a phase?
3. "The X Files", "Gary tells me you have security clearance?"
4. How everything and everybody I love will die one day
5. "Roses are red, Your eyes are nice, He didn't have ice cubes so he put vanilla ice" I literally couldn't ask for a better poem
6. It doesn't have phobia in the title but I have misanthropy and it's an automatic strong dislike to people.
7. Wiccan
8. Dying inside or going home
9. It's not that complex, it's easily MCR.
10. "I'm not going to get up and go into a whole other room just because you forgot to check the toilet paper roll" that was in text form but it still works
11. Ehhh, not really. Idk. I hope it exists
12. Don't have one-
13. My greatest weakness is something I don't want to say anything more about except that I'm a little. My greatest strength is my great ability to mask myself and my feelings, for example, I'm autistic but you could never tell.
14. Who are we kidding? Nicki Minaj is hot
15. I cry and listen to Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Both Of Us on repeat
16. You have no idea how much band merch I have
17. Sometimes I am. I know I could always be someone better, but I gotta learn to be comfortable with something I tried my hardest with: me.
18. Ok I have no sound I love except for rock/ punk/ emo music. I have misophonia meaning there's a specific sound that I hate, it can cause meltdowns and I have no control over myself. It's at a specific time, so if I'm feeling upset my misophonia kicks in and I absolutely HATE any human noise made. I do hate all human noises all the time but when I'm upset it's when I'll start shaking, crying, puking and pulling my hair out.
19. What if we could run away to neverland and have no worries
20. I'll just say I want to believe.
21. The air. I'm literally in my bed
22. Nothing, but whenever my ef comes into my room they can smell rice bubbles and apparently I smell like rice bubbles. My sibling says the exact same thing.
23. Ohio
24. Troye Sivan is so cute ahdbdhdvfj
25. Live your truth, food and sex. Tbh I am panromantic but I'm also lesbian meaning you know what
26. I don't drive because it was suggested I don't because of my height. It was just a guideline, like how 1% of people follow PG 13+
27. Fucking Star Wars. I've literally been forced. I've learnt the whole bee movie script in morse code.
28. I cracked my head open when a kid in 4th grade picked me up then dropped me after saying us shorties need to stick together. They were 6 inches taller than me.

32. Cancer
33. It may or may have not been tea
34. uhh both?
35. Yes, I mentioned my ef before. (ef means enbyfriend)
36. I'm very guilty, I may have dated 32 people exactly..
37. I don't have one, I'm literally the least talented person
38. In Scotland
39. Writing in this
40. Kinda? I'm good at telling lies that I've told myself and I don't wanna put up with being able to tell every single lie they say
41. Call for anyone on the sidewalk to watch and make sure the dog is ok while I call a service and literally sprint when I see them coming.
42. A, no I would only tell my ef, Blayde, Taylor, Julie and Angel. I want everybody else to think of how they were too late to tell me they cared. B, I would spend them with my ef and siblings. C, No because I never expected to live later than 18 years old and I was never scared of death, my existential crises covered that.
43. Woah. Hold your fuckin horses mate. I'm literally listening to Runaway Train at the moment. I guess Sweater Weather?
44. Consent, love, listening and communication
45. Ya can't uneless you're Jakson
46. I actually did go insane once, I went to a mental hospital and it's not like the movies. It doesn't have padding and you don't have cellmates. I guess insanity did bring out creativity in me, I painted a lot and said that I can lie easily in words but I'd never lie in art and sign language.
47. Following Dan's guide to stalk your idol until they notice you.
48. "I wasn't wrong when I thought I was going to die before I'm 18." that may not be a very deep thought to you (I'm 18 at the moment) but it's true, because I'll never be the same person. I change as a person so often and one personality will never live to be older than 18.
49. An anatomical heart
50. Pastel purple, pastel pink, pastel blue and pitch black
51.

okay finished this - really enjoyed listening to frank and travis appreciating each other and talking about their process to writing their parts. I think it was a bold interview subject to talk about issues of 'past bands' when it came to writing music, especially with public well known careers. but clearly thats such a big part of past lives, dealing with that interpersonal conflict that not only puts friendships on the line but your career - what a huge and important stressor in your life. especially when you add in outer forces that you cannot control, like breaking both your hands - it takes time for example. in a lot of ways personal conflict always seems like the easier issue to solve, the circumstance you can control but often it can be just as deliberating as losing your range of motion in your hands (in a way). but i guess that what makes ls dunes different, they are intentional with the kind of band communication they want. they aren't waiting for a perfect fit, they are using their past experience to find people with similar outlooks where they can all build the band they want to be part of. and i find that truly admirable, taking action to create something great rather than trying to 'find' it aka wait for it to come to them.
i also loved hearing frank use cancer as an example of knowing when to back off and making that sacrifice for the song. making albums for mcr never sounded like a walk in the park - honestly bullets sounds like their most positive experience - perhaps thats why frank likes that new band experience. moving up the industry ladder has its downsides. i'm thinking of a certain producer who publicly dragged frank's name through the mud. in my opinion frank does sabotage his solo career some, maybe to prevent dealing with the higher ups in the music industry, maybe for artistic integrity, maybe for personal peace and satisfaction. he stays with baby bands instead of having a second wind career like dave grohl.
i will admit an eye brow raising point for me was when frank mentioned that one of anthony's strengths was creating space for lyrics over complicated guitar parts and in the past he had to strip his parts down for the singer. . .
i'm also thrilled to hear about new music for ls dunes they are working on - i'm crossing my fingers for a tour where i can see them live
Tumblr media
it's like they know i finally got around to listening to the last ones
but i'm excited to hear travis and frank talk

"Fake Fans"
So the other day I was told I was a fake fan for having more pictures of Vic reblogged than the others members of PTV. And not to long before that I was getting shit talked for not knowing a certain All Time Low song and I have something to say to those people. You people want to get angry and judgmental about how someone doesn’t know a song from the first album of whatever band or whatever but you do realize by doing this you’re doing harm to the bandom of said band, Like me for example. I’m fairly new to this music scene. While I have loved groups like FOB,P!ATD,MCR, and ATL for years that’s all I had really listened to in the punk/emo/rock/alternative until now (not counting classic rock and older punk rock). With the last two years I have found out a lot about my self after getting into the more “emo” scene of music and style. But to be completely honest I’ve been treated pretty badly for being new to certain fandoms. I have gotten hate for the following things
Saying I like TOP but saying I don’t care for Stressed Out, Heathens, and Cancer not hating them I just prefer some of the older songs
saying I didn’t know the song Lost it All by BVB when I was still new to their music (like really people I had barely known about them for a month)
When I first started listening to SWS I had only known Kellin (and the only reason I knew his name was because I loved PTV and King for a Day was my shit)
And for mixing up two ATL songs by mistake in a conversation (excuse me for saying Weightless by mistake geesus)
I love music and I love these bands which why I hate it when I see so much hate and rudeness towards new or casual fans. How are new fans supposed to learn and grow to love these bands like we do if people scare them away by calling them fake. Also you do realize by treating them badly you are no better than those “stuck up pop/preps” fans you like to talk shit about. So here I am to say to all the new and casual fans of my favorite bands. Welcome to family guys, I hope you come to love being apart of this crazy family just as much as I do. Please know I’m here for you we can fangirl/fanboy over cute band members together while we jump around and try to sing these songs together. Because you are not a fake fan. And I will not treat you like one.

Would u be ok giving me some MCR recs? I've really liked stuff I've listened to like Mama, but I have a problem where I take a long time to warm up to music in major keys or upbeat music, so when I've tried to listen to say, the song Welcome To The Black Parade, it leaves me a little cold even tho objectively I know it's a good song. What are some good MCR songs that're downbeat or in a minor key to get my break wet? This is so dumb but I can't get into happy/uplifting music easily :,V
the majority of danger days excluding na na na go! vampire money and party poison are a lot more downbeat than the stuff on the black parade. my personal recommendations for that album for more downbeat music are we don’t need another song about california sing and s/c/a/r/e/c/r/o/w
a lot of the songs on three cheers for sweet revenge are pretty punchy instrumentally but they are by no means uplifting, good examples being thank you for the venom and its not a fashion statement its a fucking death wish.
if you like noisy shit like mama i’d recommend sleep the end. hang em high and i never told you what i do for a living
also in general i just recommend the ghost of you disenchanted the light behind your eyes the world is ugly the kids from yesterday and i dont love you (big emphasis on that last one) bc they arent upbeat lyrically or instrumentally but theyre not boring either. cancer is beautiful and sad but doesnt really do anything too interesting sound-wise imo
go forth my child

talking purely from the point of view of a petekey stan but... this is actually interesting to consider. Mikey does a terrible job at being expressive as an artist, or idk as a person in general, but given how freaky close the Ways are and how much they love each other, there’s a reasonable possibility of it being true. and this... this raises so many questions.
(disclaimer: these are just speculations i built from the theory that I Don’t Love You is a song written by Gerard in Mikey’s point of view. synonymously, i mean these are thoughts, what-ifs, ideas that bubble up in me, which i decided to put into words in my free time.)
i understand, again, that not every breakup/longing song MCR or FOB produces is necessarily the result of petekey (although, arguably, Pete is FOB’s songwriter + he never learned how to keep his thoughts to himself + “I’m sorry every song’s about you”). but yes, you are right. think about it.
(to preface, i believe the “I don’t love you” part is what Mikey would say to Pete)
the whole reason why Pete is so darn stubborn in his mourning of their hot summer relationship is probably because someone (basically his epitome of true love) stopped loving him, on the basis that ‘someone’ is Mikey lol. like, if he were the one who has fallen out first, would he be the sad clusterfuck of a songwriter that we know? (if you look at Fall Out Boy’s discography, at least 50% of each of their albums is about agonizing over the death of this amazing, mind-blowing relationship, otherwise described as “loved by everyone but you” kind of vibe.)
i got carried away, but the point is, someone stopped loving him, and Pete went(z) (hah, lol) crazy ever since. and still pertaining to this theory that Gerard wrote this song in Mikey’s perspective, the thing i asked myself immediately is... has Gerard ever supported whatever was going on between the two of them? maybe he felt neutral about it. or maybe i’m getting way too worked up over this (as usual).
also, i always had a feeling that I Don’t Love You fits the wonkiest in the album. the album depicts the story of a man with cancer. Dead!, Cancer, This Is How I Disappear, The Sharpest Lives, even Mama are examples of songs that make sense. but i could honestly never understand how I Don’t Love You fits in there or how to interpret it as a part of a storyline.
so yes, it’s entirely possible, if not a little farfetched. Mikey was never big in songwriting, so someone had to do it for him lmao. this, of course, is not what i 100% believe -- I Don’t Love You remains to me a random song that Gerard wrote. i’m just, ruminating, because it’s worth thinking about.
and yes, think about it. if I Don’t Love You were really a Gerard-style replica of Mikey’s feelings? oh how absolutely heartbreaking that would be. “I don’t love you, like I did, yesterday.” Mikey still loves Pete, surely, just not in that summer-horny way anymore?
lyric-wise, there’s nothing much to work from, but here are notable ones i cherrypicked:
And after all this time that you still owe (notion of time passing, Pete back then still actively seeking to mend their relationship) You're still the good-for-nothing, I don't know  But baby when they knock you Down and out It's where you oughta stay (Pete has a tendency to become this explosive emotional mess that tosses info about his love life like flyers, and maybe Mikey never appreciated being anonymously put out there. someone-knock-this-guy-out-and-pray-he-stays-there vibe.) And after all the blood that you still owe (maybe they fought a lot at some point over what remains of their friend/relationship?)
So fix your eyes and get up Better get up While you can (in other words: move on, Pete. it’s time.)
sticking to the theme of Gerard writing this on Mikey’s behalf, maybe he didn’t have the best of thoughts about petekey :’)
anyways, the amount i think is twice the amount i talk, and in both case, it’s a lot. it’s just my take, i hope whoever reads this enjoyed my humongous blocks of words even a little bit.
for context, i was spiraling at 4 in the morning because ya know,,,mental health issues but whatever that’s not the point.
so i was thinking, how coool it would be if there was a life on the murder scene style documentary for the black parade. which in retrospect, it would actually be horrible because the production period of that album was just not a good time for them but thATS NOT THE POINT.
anyway, i was so high on sleep deprivation that i had a half-dream (like the kind you have where you’re still sort of awake) about like, a bunch of hypothetical scenes that would be in this tbp lotms movie. it was just like an interview sort of thing? if you know me, you know i’m terrified of all the paramour mansion stories because i’m,,,,flawed as a human being. so one of the scenes was just the guys talking about the paramour and stuff but the oThEr oNe-
was gerard saying that he wrote i don’t love you from like- mikey’s perspective?? because the whole thing is from the patients perspective right but,,,,gerard wrote it,,,,as if he were mikey- and dream-me was like,,,,petekey?? does that makes sense?? which. it doesn’t make sense. that’s why it’s not true. but imagine if it was??? think about it??? am i insane???

Probiotics May Lower Your Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke
By Dr. Mercola
In addition to playing a key role in your immune function, your gut health has been shown to be a powerful variable of epigenetics, a cutting-edge field of medicine highlighting the role your lifestyle plays with respect to genetic expression.
One 2016 study1 concluded that metabolites produced by your gut bacteria chemically communicate with cells throughout your body, and in this way actually dictate the expression of your genes. In other words, your gut bacteria largely determine which genes are switched on and which are switched off.
Overall, mounting scientific evidence suggest a large component of “healthy nutrition” centers on nourishing the health-promoting bacteria in your gut. Doing so facilitates just about everything from managing your weight and optimizing your mental health to lowering your chances of developing chronic disease such as diabetes,2,3,4 heart disease and even cancer.5,6,7 With regard to heart disease, recent research shows beneficial gut bacteria, known as probiotics, help lower blood pressure and can reduce your risk of both heart attacks and stroke.
Probiotics May Lower Heart Disease Risk
Most recently, research8 published in the journal Atherosclerosis found that patients with inexplicably high amounts of arterial plaque, based on their age and risk factors for atherosclerosis, had higher levels of trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), p-cresyl sulfate, p-cresyl glucuronide and phenylacetylglutamine — metabolites produced by certain gut microbes — whereas those with unexpectedly low amounts of plaque, despite having traditional risk factors, had lower levels of these metabolic products.
According to the authors, these differences could not be explained by renal function or poor diet. There was, however, a difference in gut microbiome between the groups. Their findings strongly support the idea that your gut microbiome plays an important role in your risk for atherosclerosis, and that by repopulating your gut flora with beneficial bacteria might offer significant protection against heart attacks, stroke and death.
High TMAO Is a Potent Predictor of Early Death
Previous studies have shown high levels of TMAO are associated with an increased risk of heart attacks and stroke, as well as premature death among those with stable coronary artery disease. In one analysis,9 high blood levels of TMAO increased the risk of dying from any cause fourfold in the next five years. As explained by the Cleveland Heart Lab:10
“When people ingest certain nutrients, such as choline (abundant in red meat, egg yolks and dairy products) and L-carnitine (found in red meat as well as some energy drinks and supplements), the gut bacteria that break it down produce a compound called trimethylamine (TMA).
The liver then converts TMA into … TMAO. The trouble with TMAO is that data show high levels contribute to a heightened risk for clot-related events … even after researchers take into account the presence of conventional risk factors and markers of inflammation that might skew the results …
In general, consuming a diverse diet rich in plant foods and fiber may be helpful. When Cleveland Clinic researchers fed mice a diet rich in TMAO producing nutrients, they identified a compound called DMB capable of minimizing TMAO produced from their gut microbiota.
In fact, when DMB was added to their drinking water, they found TMAO levels and the formation of arterial plaques both declined. DMB may be found naturally in many Mediterranean diet foods, including red wine and extra-virgin olive oil. Such an eating pattern may turn out to be key to cultivating a healthy human gut microbiome — one that will fend off myriad illnesses, including heart disease …”
The study authors were quick to note that eliminating entire food groups from your diet to minimize TMAO formation would be a bad idea,11 considering these foods also have important health benefits. However, measuring blood levels of TMAO could potentially be a powerful predictive tool for assessing cardiovascular risks, in addition to other measurements such as glucose and triglycerides.
Probiotics Help Normalize Blood Pressure
Other recent findings suggest regularly consuming probiotics can help relieve hypertension (high blood pressure), which is yet another risk factor12 for heart attack and stroke. One previous analysis13 of nine studies that scrutinized associations between probiotics and blood pressure found that people who consume probiotics on a regular basis (in the form of yogurt, kefir or supplements, for example) tended to have lower blood pressure than those who did not consume probiotics.
On average, their systolic blood pressure (the top number in a reading) was 3.6 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg) lower and their diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number) was 2.4 mm Hg lower. The most significant benefit appeared to be among those whose blood pressure was higher than 130/85, and probiotics that contained a variety of bacteria lowered blood pressure to a greater degree than those containing just one type of bacteria.
Another animal study14 published last year found the probiotic lactobacillus marinus effectively prevents salt-sensitive hypertension by modulating TH17 cells. (Other research has found high salt intake inhibits lactobacillus marinus, thereby contributing to hypertension.) According to the authors:
“In line with these findings, a moderate high-salt challenge in a pilot study in humans reduced intestinal survival of lactobacillus spp., increased TH17 cells and increased blood pressure. Our results connect high salt intake to the gut–immune axis and highlight the gut microbiome as a potential therapeutic target to counteract salt-sensitive conditions.”
Antihypertensive Effects of Kefir Confirmed
Findings presented at the 2018 Experimental Biology conference found similar effects on blood pressure using kefir, specifically. Here, rats were divided into three groups. The first group, consisting of hypertensive rats, received kefir on a regular basis for nine weeks. The second group, which was also hypertensive, did not receive kefir. The third control group had normal blood pressure and were given regular chow.
After nine weeks, blood and stool samples were analyzed to evaluate changes to the animals’ microbiome. Blood pressure was also measured, and neural changes in the hypothalamus, which plays a role in the regulation of blood pressure, were analyzed. Compared to groups two and three, the treatment group that received kefir had:
Lower blood pressure
Improved balance of beneficial bacteria in the gut
Improved intestinal structure with decreased intestinal permeability
Lower levels of endotoxins (byproducts of bacterial disintegration that contribute to inflammation)
Lower levels of inflammation in the central nervous system
According to the authors, “Our data suggests that kefir antihypertensive-associated mechanisms involve gut microbiota-brain axis communication during hypertension.” In other words, signals sent from the gut to the brain influence blood pressure, and by improving the gut microbiome, blood pressure was normalized naturally.
Factory Farmed Meat Helps Drug-Resistant Bacteria Thrive in Your Digestive Tract
While it’s generally not recommended to avoid all meat, dairy and egg products for fear of TMAO formation, it’s important to recognize that there’s a vast difference between factory farmed versions of these foods and organic or biodynamically raised ones. Importantly, in addition to being lower in important nutrients, by studying fecal samples, researchers have found that agricultural antibiotics fed to chickens15 and cows have the ability to adversely impact your gut microbiome when these foods are consumed.16
This, I believe, is a major reason for buying organically grown, grass fed meats, eggs and dairy products and avoiding those from concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). This finding is part of a much larger project called the American Gut; an ongoing global analysis of gut bacteria in more than 11,300 people to date.
It’s still ongoing, so if you’re interested in finding out more about your microbiome, you can still join in. For more information, see “American Gut — One of the Most Important Health Projects of the 21st Century.” As reported by Medicine Net:17
“Several observations have already been made. For example, those who eat more than 30 types of plant-based foods per week have more diverse microbiomes than those who eat 10 or fewer types of plants. The volunteers who ate more than 30 plants a week also had fewer drug-resistant genes in their gut microbiomes than people who ate 10 or fewer plants. It's unclear exactly why this is the case.
Researchers speculate that people who eat fewer fruits and vegetables may, in turn, be eating more meat from antibiotic-treated animals or processed foods with antibiotics added as a preservative. This could help antibiotic-resistant bacteria thrive in the digestive tract. Antibiotic use also affects the types of bacteria found in the gut: People who reported taking these medications within the past month had less bacterial diversity in their gut than those who didn't.”
CAFO Chicken May Be the Worst Offender
CAFO chicken appears to be the worst, in terms of upsetting your gut microbiome with residual antibiotics. Most recently, Chinese researchers report18,19 having isolated colistin-resistant Escherichia coli (E. coli) in randomly selected chickens raised in Chinese CAFO farms. Colistin is an antibiotic of last resort. The E. coli also frequently carried multiple resistance genes.
In fact, it’s the first time both mcr-1 and mcr-3 genes have been found together on a single plasmid (a genetic element capable of transferring genetic material from one bacterium to another, sometimes even between different species), and their coexistence “may pose a huge threat to public health,” Hongning Wang, Ph.D., professor of animal disease prevention and food safety at Sichuan University said.
Mcr-1 alone is bad enough. This gene mutation makes bacteria resistant to our most powerful antibiotics, and its rate of transfer is exceptionally high. Mcr-3 makes the rate of transfer even greater, as it contains “insertion sequences” that encourage their integration into other plasmids, thereby speeding up the spread of resistance genes even more.
The mcr colistin resistance genes were discovered just three years ago,20,21,22 but already five different ones have been identified, plus variants, and have been detected not only in E. coli, but also in klebsiella pneumoniae, enterobacteriaceae and aeromonads. As noted by Wang, “It is time to let the public understand the serious consequences of the abuse of antibiotics. If the last line of antibiotics is breached by bacteria, we will find ourselves in the post-antibiotic era."
Contaminated Chicken Implicated in Drug-Resistant Urinary Tract Infections
In a 2017 interview, public health journalist Maryn McKenna explained the crux of the problem with routine antibiotic administration in CAFOs:23
“When we give animals antibiotics, those antibiotics, for the most part, are given in their food and water. So, they go into the animal's guts. They make some of those bacteria [in the gut] resistant ... That bacteria contaminates [the animal's] meat. We eat the meat. And then we develop the foodborne illnesses that ... happen to be antibiotic-resistant …
Sometimes those [antibiotic-resistant] bacteria get out of our digestive systems and travel the short distance to our urinary systems, and then it feels just like a regular UTI [urinary tract infection]. So, a woman goes to her doctor and says, ‘I have a urinary tract infection.’ And the doctor will give her one of those standard sets of antibiotics that are prescribed by medicine, and nothing happens. In other words, the antibiotic doesn't work because the infection is resistant.
Indeed, an estimated 10 percent of the 8 million UTIs occurring in American women each year are thought to be caused by food, predominantly CAFO chicken meat.24 For years now, scientists have warned that infectious disease could potentially spread through the food supply, and when it comes to UTIs, DNA matching overwhelmingly supports this hypothesis. In other words, many UTIs are caused by zoonosis, meaning animal to human disease transfer.25,26,27
As early as 2005 papers were published showing drug-resistant E. coli strains from supermarket meat matched strains found in human E. coli infections,28 including UTIs29 (85 percent of which are caused by E. coli). For all of these reasons, I strongly recommend avoiding antibiotics unless absolutely necessary, and avoid all meats (and other animal products) raised with antibiotics.

To nourish your gut microbiome, thereby protecting yourself against chronic diseases, including heart disease, be sure to eat plenty of traditionally fermented and cultured foods, along with prebiotics. Prebiotics are found primarily in fiber-rich foods, which is perfect because your good gut bacteria thrive on indigestible fiber. Inulin is one type of water-soluble fiber found in asparagus, garlic, leeks and onions that helps nourish your beneficial gut bacteria.
As for probiotic supplementation, spore-based probiotics or sporebiotics, may be particularly advantageous. Sporebiotics are part of a group of derivatives of the microbe called bacillus. This genus has hundreds of subspecies, the most important of which is Bacillus subtilis.
Essentially, sporebiotics consist of the cell wall of bacillus spores, and they are a primary tool to boost your immune tolerance. Because sporebiotics do not contain any live Bacillus strains, only its spores — the protective shell around the DNA and the working mechanism of that DNA — they are unaffected by antibiotics.
Antibiotics indiscriminately kill your gut bacteria, both good and bad, which is why secondary infections and lowered immune function are common side effects of taking antibiotics. As noted earlier, chronic low-dose exposure to antibiotics through your food also takes a toll on your gut microbiome, which can result in chronic ill health and increased risk of drug resistance. Since they’re not destroyed by antibiotics, sporebiotics can more effectively help re-establish your gut microbiome.
In the video above, Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt, founder of the Klinghardt Academy, discusses sporebiotics, which he has used clinically for the treatment of food intolerances, ALS, autism, Lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and more.
Whatever approach you take — eliminating sugars, adding prebiotic foods, eating fermented foods, taking probiotics or sporebiotics, or all of the above — I encourage you to begin optimizing your gut. A healthy gut will boost your immunity, help your body resist disease and positively affect your health and well-being.
