what is it with people nowadays using the word “narcissistic” as a replacement for toxic or abusive? even if we are ignoring the fact that this sounds ableist towards people with NPD (which we shouldn’t ignore btw but just for the sake of this argument) y’all are not even using it in its ORIGINAL definition, as in “a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves”. you’re just using the word for whoever slightly pisses you off. “my friend was kinda rude to me yesterday, she’s so narcissistic” IM BEGGING YOU DO EVERYONE A FAVOR AND PICK UP A DICTIONARY

re-animator trigger warning on does the dog die:
um. no? unless I missed something?
like. Hill manipulates, pressures, blackmails, stalks, plagiarizes, intimidates, abuses his authority, arrogantly defends out of date scientific approximation as fact, and outright lies (a LOT), but. I don't offhand recall him gaslighting anyone?
were there instances where he lied with the intent to destabilize someone's perception of reality and of their own sanity???? or is this just a "the internet doesn't really know what gaslighting is" thing?

they paused as they realize that it was because of their question that got them there in the first place.
What? Me avoiding a simple question? Never.
that was, of course, a lie. they know what they were doing after all and that they were trying to avoid that dreaded question. they just simply give him a small, yet anxious laugh.
Yeah, I simply could decline to answer. Not like it wasn't an option in the first place. But it would sound like I don't have one, which I obviously do.
but those words sounded hollow especially since it seems like they have accidentally forgot that declining to answer that dreaded question was an option as they were trying to find the best answer to that question.

((ooc:: mod would. but mod doesn't know what or how to gaslight in the first place.))
"You either don't know your name or didn't try to deny it for seemingly no reason. How exciting! I wonder which reason is right? Perhaps both?"
Shibusawa sneered, chuckling to himself, not bothering to hide his amusement anymore. This was utterly hilarious to him. The stranger was trying so hard but their attempts kept failing miserably, only serving to fuel Shibusawa further.
"Though, this is getting quite boring,"
He suddenly switched, causing an abrupt contrast between his entertainment and his sudden boredom. Amusement could only last so long, he thought to himself, and this was getting boring now. He wanted an answer.
"I shall give you one last chance. You can say you don't know your name or you don't want to tell me. Go on."

— OCS RED FLAGS.
i was tagged by @denerims and @risingsh0t to take this quiz for my ocs, thank you both sooo much!!
i'm tagging @arklay @nuclearstorms @morvaris @uldwynsovs @devilbrakers @faarkas @girlbosselrond @indorilnerevarine @shadowglens @jacobseed @lightwardens and whoever wants to do this <3
VIOLENT
when something makes you upset, it could even be the tiniest most petty reason ever, you yell, rage, and possibly throw stuff in anger. your actions think quicker than your mind, and it could probably not even be intentional but the next thing you'll realize is that you've hurt someone
MANIPULATIVE
you're probably a passive aggressive person. you frequently lie, and gaslight to get your way. you never want to be held responsible for your actions so you avoid situations by either victimizing yourself, belittling others concerns, hiding the truth, and using threats to harm yourself or others
FAKE
you are a toxic human being. you belittle others, and are overly competitive. you probably envy those who have it better than you so you try to manipulate the person into feeling worthless so that you can feel superior. you are never there for your friends in time of need but you expect them to always be at your service

It gives me hives whenever therapists suggest that maybe a medical issue could be the result of unresolved trauma/a delayed reaction to trauma. That’s a baseless claim… literally, pseudoscience. To be clear, I think that psychological trauma can induce physiological stress that can contribute to the development of medical issues (disease and chronic illness). But that doesn’t mean that you can look at the end state, and conclude etiology just from that. And yet, therapists do this… ALL THE TIME.
