Demeter is afraid of bats so their main villian is gonna be this like. mad scientist who prolly created the spiders that bit her who is prolly experimenting on themselves to become some sort of bat creature.. like man-bat and the lizard mixed together but I don’t think this guy is in anyway sympathetic. he’s obsessed with evolution, he’s bored of humanity he’s prolly obsessed with spider-man (whichever spider-man exists in this universe is probably going to die or sumn 😭)

Funniest thing about the original Broadway version of M&R (the one that Misto sings with the trash puppets) is how Tugger introduces him so dramatically in the beginning. Bc when it comes to bringing Deut back during Misto's number, that's obviously important and Tugger would obviously be invested in doing whatever's necessary to save him (including hyping Misto up), but M&R is just a silly little song.

Like, Misto comes on stage with his two little puppets made of garbage and a catchy lil ditty about them doing shenanigans and Tugger has to cut in front of him and basically go 'MISTO IS PERFORMING SO EVERYBODY SIT DOWN AND START FUCKING CLAPPING OR ILL BLOW THIS WHOLE PLACE UP'

Okay hear me out.

It wasn't a continuity error. It's the nature (pun not intended...) of plants - plants are powerful, but not quick. Plants are powerful, but not flashy. Plants are powerful, but not a single plant in isolation. The Demeter kids are not powerful like some other demigods. While children of Poseidon, for example, are rebellious and unpredictable like the sea, children of Demeter are patient and consistent like plants. They are not particularly powerful alone, but they are very powerful when they come together, like in the Battle of Manhattan.

In the past I didn't usually wear too much as far as fragrances go, but lately I've been playing around with Demeter just because a lot of their stuff is really fun lol

So yeah most days I'm either wearing Ominous Mist, Thunderstorm, Transfixed, Tomato, or Fraser Fir, all from Demeter, and sometimes I'll wear Honey Oud from Bella Vita

Nothing too fancy or ridiculously expensive lol

said retelling: Hades and Persephone were actually in love and Demeter just threw a hysteric fit because she's a borderline abusive helicopter parent and oop now she's a terrible in-law keeping these soulmates apart hijinks ensue

thinking about kyane. how she must have known there was no way she would be powerful enough to stop hades but she stood up to him anyway. how even though she wept until she’d lost her mouth her hands and become nothing but water itself she still found a way to warn demeter something terrible had happened. how she’s never remembered in the retellings because she’d ruin their obsession with stripping demeter and persephone’s story of its meaning. how even though she was just a naiad she stood up to the king of the dead and told him he couldn’t take her friend.

Good lord do they drive me fucking insane. Plato is a gorgeous gorgeous deer boy cat with eyeliner and pretty hair for days and Vicci is the jellicle moon the stars the universe the baby ballerina of all timeee. The original ‘she’s everything. He’s just Ken.’ Daphne and Fred. Mrs. Piggy and Kermit. I promise I’m not trying to be pretentious or anything but these two are like if Romeo and Juliet wasn’t tragedy. If they were doomed and there wasn’t an age gap. Platoria is that. To me. And also holyyyy shit they’re both gorgeoussss. Truly the best to ever do it. No notes. 10/10.

RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEY MAKE ME CRAZY!!!!!! Not in the same way as Platoria but like….different. Their personalities are so different but they love each other so much….i love it when they go crazy during Macavity or completely body the harmonies in Grizabella the Glamour cat. Gillian Lynne has a vision, and I see and understand and want to eat the vision. Their shared trauma with Macavity makes their dynamic really interesting, because Demeter was clearly the one more hurt by the whole ordeal, so the way they parallel and contrast each other during the song is ACTUALLY insane. When I sing Macavity for fun, there’s always a very noticeable difference between the tones, and the way the two of them ebb and flow with their voices. Actual ear candy. Stunning.

Revivals need to get SO MUCH MORE INTENSE AND INTIMATE WITH THE CHOREO. I’d never thought I’d say that about fictional characters, but PLEASE let them interact more. This is a DUET!!!! LET THEM TOUCH EACH OTHER AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE OTHER ON THE STAGE!!!!

no bc it's killing me that an author devoted a post to mocking and condemning the writing quality in a myth retelling (and, granted, the mythological liberties taken by the discredited author aren't worth defending either but)

they have also penned an equally terrible myth retelling (in terms of writing quality and technical skills)
