In memory of the Venusian sunrise (lineart)

Два танкиста, два унылых другаа,
Экипааж машины боевой... 😄
I sat down to redraw an old piece with these two, but something went wrong and I decided to draw the e-frame as well. I haven't drawn mechs since childhood, when I was fascinated by the "BattleTech" book series 😅 So, this is my first more or less successful experience. Love this heavy Rapid Assault e-frame, especially Marsala's, with cute bullets marks decor

A list of my OC universes
Jonas Corbin's Guide to Life (JCGTL): Cornerstone universe. Animesque high-school dramedy with some degree of magic realism/Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane. The JCGTL master file can be found here.
RPG Hero Academy: RPGHA for short, pretty much what you get when you combine Final Fantasy, Harry Potter, and Naruto. Also somewhat based on my spite lore for a Tortallan forum-based RPG that would probably make Tamora Pierce spin in her grave if she were dead. My only setting with no direct ties to JCGTL.
Alseide: Medieval fantasy setting similar to medieval/Renaissance Earth, but with steampunk and magitek technology and standard fantasy monsters. Notable as perhaps the only fantasy setting with a Fantasy Counterpart Culture to the Kingdom of Georgia, and for having many small stories instead of one big one. This is also where Mark Seaver's Wayfarer (Pathfinder expy) campaigns are set in JCGTL.
Exoframe Chronicles (XFC): Real Robot sci-fi mecha setting, set in our solar system, which humanity has colonized as far out as Uranus. For this setting, I tend to focus more on the main antagonistic faction, the Maralean Empire, and mecha designs in general because I don't really have a solid idea for a hero. Also exists as an in-universe anime in JCGTL. The master file is available on demand if you have my e-mail address.
Legend of Altheria: Sci-fantasy JRPG setting, similar to Alseide, but with a main storyline, albeit one that I haven't been able to complete. Exists as an in-universe JRPG in JCGTL, and in the past of RPGHA.

Trivia Tuesday
Did You Know that Master Chief's armor from Halo: CE's MacWorld 1999 trailer was canonized as ORION armor? Never leaving the prototype stage, this armor was tested by ORION operatives and would later inform the design of MJOLNIR and SPI.

Hey, Snow here. Apologies for the delay. I could not decide for the life of me what to actually write down for you all; I have a couple of drafts saved. But, I eventually ended up on this; this is for all the up and coming pilots and those who are yet to be:
So, You're looking to buy a frame?
Independent Contractor, Mercenary work, or simply because you always wanted to; The Mechical Frames offered by many manufacturers are symbols of power and control, and the dream of earning the title Lancer fresh in many of minds. But, getting into the field requires a lot of work and knowledge one wouldn't think you would need. Due to this and a lot of technical jargon, many people find it hard to make the first dive into their very first purchase.
One of the first things you want to do is take your H.A.S.E test, get to know yourself before you start getting second skins. HASE Scores are symbols of your ability and knowledge, and often help with getting licenses. Than, once you done that; consider your options. Below, I list some basic recommendations as well as what to avoid.
Starting off, The GMS Everest. Old Reliable, the most common frame in the galaxy, Union's brain child of plates and wires. The Everest is often advertised as THE starting frame, and for good reason. It can be built to do nearly anything, and it comes with access to the basic GMS Catalog of frame weaponry. It also is hy far the safest option to get used to linking your nervous system to your frame, for it has high performance output but is still grounded by many safety systems to make sure a new pilot can handle it.
The Everest also has, by far, the most deadly Alpha Strike capabilities of any frame. Slam that hyperspace fuel rod into your reactor, and feel the power flow through your frame. It is among the fastest frames in the galaxy, only beaten by a select few. The Everest strikes hard, strikes quickly, and due to GMS systems being very modular and made to be easily replaced- extremely simple to maintain and field. This is your best option if you plan on not taking prolonged engagements.
But, what if you want more durability in the actual engagement, while sacrificing the easy repairs? Enter the Harrison Armory Standard Issue frame, The Gilgamesh. This is what I pilot, and what my father piloted when he was still an Legionnare- and alive. Harrison has built this frame to directly compete with the Everest, and it shows. The most basic lisceneing comes with an Heavy Battle Rifle, the super thermal blade, and utility drones. And, arguably the crowning jewels, the Emergency Repair Module and the Harrison Patented 'Exoframe Staged Designed'. These systems increase the effective durability of a Gilgamesh by repairing systems on the spot, either by whitewashing damage along the armor of the frame or replacing a damaged weapon or limb on the spot.
The Everest may have the most deadly Alpha Strike, but the Gilgamesh has the ability to outlast nearly any other frame. It can also field more supplies than any other frame can hope to without excessive weight gain or stress on the structure. Grenades, Turrets, Mines, Whitewash or Greywash canisters; it has room for more. The only thing the Gilgamesh loses out on is E-Warfare, which the Everest barely beats it out with the high output of its systems applying to ALL functions. Though, the Everest isn't even the best option in that regard, so the loss is negligible.
These two are likely your best starting options, though they are some alternatives I will briefly mention later down. But here I should make a very quick PSA: Never start off with an SSC frame. Yes, they are high performance and can easily compete with the frames of Harrsion Armory. However, these frames are almost always high mantience, are tailor made for you, EXPENSIVE, and are highly specialized. Even the famed Metalmark, the most versatile frame, in the SSCs roster, is designed for Stealth in mind. Reactive Weaves are finicky at best, and shock knives puts a lot of demand on your reactor for inexperienced pilots. And if you plan to pilot via neuro-link? Forget it. Those frames will drown you in data if it's your first time through.
And while we are on the topic of systems- HORUS flagged systems and tech. I wanted to save this for another post, but I think it's best to mention this here. HORUS frames are very much entry level to those who have no idea where to look for the more advanced frames- and that's by design. The Kobold is easy to find a simple program to convert your local mining rig into, because it was made for irregulars rebelling in Karrakin Space. The Manticore reveals itself to those who have the insane devotion to pilot one. HORUS knows you are looking. And even if you aren't looking, you will end up with it eventually. HORUS tech should be handled with care, and be trusted as much as an IPS-N Naval officer with a Caliban behind it.
Speaking of, the entire IPS-N line-up easily falls into a realm of recommendations. They don't NEED to be fancy. They don't need all that high output of SSC and Harrsion Armory. They take beatings and are by far some of the most violent frames out there. The Caliban is a weapon of naval warfare, the Lancaster and Kidd logistical frames prepped for battle. Never think a IPS-N is harmless, for IPS-N frames and pilots will beat you with a hammer it round on the floor if it had too, and resorts to that very quickly.
Now, these recommendations are made from the knowledge of me, my sister, our Father, and Wires experiences. Wires would be better equipped to make recommendations for e-warfare frames, for that has never been my strong suit. But, these should get most pilots through the initial hurdle of figuring out where to start.

The barrel of the other girl's mouth whirled through the void.
Light slid along the metal.
Stars sparkled behind her.
I still had a few operational exocams, I got to watch her dance from different angles.
Colored vectors outlined calculated velocities.
Proximity warnings flashed and blared.
Hehe!
Blinkies!
Noises!
Makes my brain tingly.
And the other girl looked so pretty! 👀😍
The sleek, sparkling bulk of her exoframe thundering in a silent arc through the void.
A hemisphere of blood and containment fluid leaked from where I had ripped off her right arm.
It shimmered in the void 💦✨
Spelling out some kinda message?
For me?
Telling me she’s having fun?
As much fun as I am? 😍🥹
Her exosuit preservation protocols blasted a searing caustic foam across the exposing fissure. Containment fluid hissed and bubbled. It yielded to chemical insistence and transformed to glass, fusing with her containment tank.
All this happened in the breadth of a firing synapse.
The other girl kicked her thrusters to correct her trajectory.
The whirling stopped.
The barrel of her mouth filled my visor cam.
At this point my handler switched off our neural connection.
Which was fine. I didn't blame her. She seemed like a sad lady–something to do with that pretty picture, I think–and she didn't need to watch the pathetic end to my existence.
Besides.
Like.
Fuck.
Oh fuck 😳
Oh holy fuck! 😖🥵
Like.
Fffuck!
What a fucking–
Hole 🤤
Squeeze out an angel of death for me 🥵
My thighs pressed together reflexively.
My hips bucked.
Something clicked in the recesses of the other girl's machinery.
I felt it through the void.
An answer to my prayer, I guess.
And in the next snapshot of experience.
A projectile would arrive.
Fired with enough kinetic force to penetrate the seventeen layers of my exosuit helm.
The tempered glass of my containment tank.
The fragile dome of my skull.
The soft, defenseless nest of my brain.
Fuck! 😵💫
That bullet’s gonna pulverize my brain into paste!
I could cry and kick and scream and beg–and only accomplish humiliating myself.
Fffuck 🥵
I could unleash the full potentiality of my will and power and it wouldn't mean anything!
That bullet knows what it wants and I can't do a fucking thing to stop it.
Hnghhhhhhh 🫠
It wants to change me to better suit its own narrative 😖😳🥵
Smearing me across a dark expanse of nothing.
Leaving the decapitated monument of my useless body to pirouette eternally through the void.
My degradation absolute.
My failure permanent.
A consummate waste of life.
F u c k 😳😍
That bullet's gonna humiliate me for all time!
That's what it was made for!
It's gonna use me to satisfy all its urges because I'm not strong or certain enough to outmatch the power of its will 😍🥵
My heart pounded.
My eyes widened.
My crotch fucking ached.
I leaned forward 👀
Give it to me.
Give it to me!
Gimme what I want! 👅
Or worse.
Hehe.
Yes!
Give it to me even worse than I want it.
Push me down so much further than I ever thought a girl could go.
Make me hurt in ways I’ve never imagined.
Make me understand.
Make me regret.
Show me the way things truly are.
Show me exactly what you think of me 😖🥺
Loser.
Worse.
What can I do?
How can I make it hurt even more?
How can I make it worse?
Trying.
Ohhh fuck 🥵🥵🥵
If I tried right now?
To fight back?
To assert myself and resist this thing craving to change me?
Staring annihilation in the face and summoning the audacity to insist that I know better.
Silly girl!
Thinking I could make a difference from this position.
From any position.
Only to have this fucking bullet just completely disregard my effort.
And satisfy itself anyway.
Easily.
Without thought.
Without consideration for me in any way.
Oblivious to my resistance.
Because it was always meant to be this way.
Fated.
Romantic.
F U C K 😖😍🥵
That’s what I fucking want!
But what could I do?
What can I do?
No time to move a limb.
No time to kick a thruster.
Boop ✨
No time to think.
Act.
I focused all my sensory receptors on my visor cam.
And I mean all of them.
Staring into the barrel of the other girl's mouth.
Birthplace of my reaper bullet.
My entire world.
I opened wide.
My mouth, I mean.
Aaahhh 👅
The jaws of my exosuit unhinged.
Let's go! 💥
I smashed my fucking teeth together.
MONCH! 😁
A massive detonation shook the void.
The jaws of my exosuit crushed the barrel of the other girl's mouth.
The bullet struck.
Everything fucking exploded.
Fuck!
The seventeen layers of my exosuit helm disintegrated.
Yes!
The containment tank glass covering my face disintegrated.
Fuck!
The containment fluid around my head vaporized.
Yes!
An indescribable shockwave of pain ripped across my face.
Oh fuck!
My heart pounded.
My crotch ached.
I bucked my hips.
It hurt so bad.
It was so much worse than I expected! 😍🫠
I stared with blistered, unblinking eyes straight out into the frigid void.
Into the obliterated mess of the other girl's head.
Oh fuck.
Nothing remained but mist.
And that perfectly severed eyeball.
And.
A tooth?
She had teeth?
Where? 😳
Red blood and containment fluid pumped from the wet, gaping hole of her neck.
Her exosuit didn't try to patch the breach.
It wouldn't respond without a neural connection.
And really.
No need.
Because.
Wow.
Somehow.
I’d won?
Yes.
Yes!
I'd won!
Ahahahahaha! 😍👑💛
I fucking won!
Eat your goddamn fucking heart out!
Caustic foam splattered across my broken face.
Oh fuck!
Fuck!
Owieee 😭
I screamed.
Foam filled my mouth.
Disgusting 😭
Containment fluid sloshed forward and cauterized the foam into glass.
Which held my mouth forcibly open.
Embarrassing 😭
I stared through the glass into the void.
My handler reinitiated our neural connection.
Yay!
They came back!
I said, {“Caliber!”}
A long pause.
Caliber said, {“Daisy.”}
She paused.
{“You're alive.”}

Hathor's True Form!
As stated previously, Hathor is an aberrant inter-universal entity. In her case, that means the anthro protogen look is just an exoframe she crams herself into [to appeal to an alternate-universe GLaDOS], and her real physiology is decidedly more alien. She finds a part of herself in both appearances, though she prefers keep the dragon slug style away from the eyes of the Aperture Interplanetary Territories for now.

Local_Storage_Only: “Flew”
This is a stupid idea, Marty.
Probably.
I really wish you’d left me in for this.
What if we crashed, though?
[picture resolves. Marten Antheo, appearing in late 20s, stands on a rocky outcropping overlooking a deep fissure roughly 10m in width. Locale difficult to determine, but clearly a habitable planet due to lack of hardsuit. At edge of picture stands a decently modified HA Gilgamesh, cockpit open.]
What if you crash?
One of us can bend at the joints, Nofie. It’s not you. Besides, sense data should be transmitting, right? You’ll be right there with me as I go!
[picture cuts mid-sentence to briefly display video output thru chassis before returning; this reveals the fissure to be quite deep, with avian fauna moving above a heavy canopy.]
That’s the last thing I’m concerned about. If I have to call one of the others to drag you back out—
—Then get Agwe, they’ll bamf me up.
…I’m not confident.
Noted.
[Marten boards the Gilgamesh; picture returns to external view as start-up sequence initiates.]
I promise you, this is going to be worth it. Just hang on, okay?
I won’t leave you.
[Start-up completes; chassis mimics pilot flexion in arms, begins to back up from the ledge. Heavy, quick breathing can be heard from cockpit, hyping himself up… And the chassis runs forwards, leaping off the edge.]
[For a moment, there’s only the fall and the wind. A brief targeting UI flashes onscreen as chassis extends its arm and fires a grapple head at the crevasse wall, and then suddenly their view is swinging forwards, and up. Marten whoops with excitement, and approaching the apex of the swing detaches the line.]
[A green and gold world can be seen below as he makes it over the rock. The mech flies, and there is a deep, fundamental laughter.]
Holy shit.
[There’s another fall, and another swing and rise, and again and again. Marten quiets at some point, either from G-strain or simply at peace. Again… again…]
[A particularly low swing overtaxes the line. Grapple head detonates 20m down as failsafe, severing the cord just as the downward arc evens out. Marten yells.]
FUCK!
Marty!
[The next several seconds are blurred and green as the chassis crashes down through canopy. Sounds of rapid armor ablation and exoframe detachment can be heard.]
[When a clear view returns, the mech is rolled in the forest beneath, unmoving. Multiple limbs have been detached.]
Marten? Marten, status! …On the god-head, if you don’t get up—
[Someone just about coughs up a lung.]
I’m okay! I’m okay. I’m… okay. Fuck.
You’re not transmitting vitals, what’s going on? I can get help.
I’m fine! Mild concussion— probably— think I broke something? Interior frame held, I let the exosuit take the impact. Lost both arms— the Gil, not me.
Dammit, you scared me.
Yeah! I scared me too, oh my god. I’m— gimme a second, putting her back together.
[the camera picks itself up as the chassis is righted, replacing limbs and systems.]
Okay, spare left arm’s fucked but we’ve got another hauling line. I can rappel back up no problem, just… Gotta catch my breath. Hoo.
Be careful on the way up, OK? No more FABI-ass tricks or I’m telling.
Yeah, textbook. Got it. Leave my pride intact, Nofie.
Long as you leave my pilot in one piece.
. . .
It was amazing.
Yeah. Yeah.
Thank you.
Wouldn’t have gone without you, man. Love ya. Thanks for trusting me.
Said I wouldn’t let you go.

Godstride Glossary
For those interested in lore, here's some terminology to chew on!
Gods: Enormous mechanical entities possessing a titanic pseudo-consciousness. Their bodies solely exist to house their minds and give humanity a means to interface with them, allowing pilots to guide Gods through times of war and peace alike.
The God Complex: A method of mathematics discovered in the early 21st century that permitted the calculation of exponential data growth sequences, which led to the creation of true artificial intelligence and, eventually, to the minds of the Gods themselves.
The Corporations: By the 25th century, the privatization of space exploration led to the weakening of local governments and the rise of the megacorps such as Dissidia Galactic, The Ios Conglomerate, Pantheon, and the Carta Bon Lafwa as their own governing bodies for controlled sectors and systems.
Genemolding: In order to facilitate colonization of planets with less-than-ideal atmospheric and local conditions, a variety of methods were devised, and by the 23rd century, three essential schools of genemolding were codified: Beastbreeds, Genebreeds, and the Geneforged.
Beastbreed: Favored by the most expansionistic corporations like Ios, beastbreed genemolds were ideal for survival conditions. Using a human baseline, the genome would then be spliced repeatedly with a variety of mammalian genetic traits favoring endurance, strength, flexibility, and durability. Although suitable for colonizing efforts, their overly robust immune systems made beastbreeds unsuitable for most high-end cybernetic implants, as rejection syndrome would often be too high to sustain.
Genebreed: Favored by more mercenary or combat military-industrial corporations, Genebreeds were designed not for longevity of lineage but durability for mass production in cradles or cloning facilities. Often genetically tailored for more specific traits rather than the generalized beastbreeds, the Genebreeds were favored for high compatibility with Gods, exoframes, and even the most invasive of cybernetic implants.
Geneforged: The final and most expensive form of genemold, the geneforged are born 'naturally,' modified in-utero over the course of normal pregnancy to refine and enhance only pre-existing human traits; strength, reaction time, mental processing power, and longevity. Geneforged often live two-to-four times the lifespan of an unmodified human and rarely, if ever, fall ill. Geneforging is the favored genemold for Corporate executives seeking to establish or maintain their dynasty.
More to come! So like, follow, and stay tuned!

Taking Flight, Chapter 41: Second Wind
Despite missing an eye and a leg, Xel'Takau seems more irritated than wounded. Another Exoframe goes down as it is crushed between the Worm head's jaws. Only the RED Engineer is left, and his exoframe is barely in any condition to move, let alone fight. The Broodlord reaches for him in an attempt to "complete the set," but a lightly charred Soldine manages to force the incoming palm to a halt. Pietro hops onto the outstretched arm and hurls a radiant spear towards its heart, but it's still not enough to pierce all the way through the crystaline shell. Xel'Takau thrashes his arm about, forcing Pietro to disengage.
Soldine: Any luck?
Pietro: Ugh......What do you think?
Xel'Takau takes another deep breath, preparing to unleash another torrent of burning Kuva......... before something in the distance catches its attention. The two watch as a bright blue aurora erupts outwards in the distance. A sudden streak of light comes barreling into Xel'Takau, sending him careening into a nearby cliff face.
Pietro: What the hell?
A figure lands in front of them. An iridescent blue aura shimmers around her body, and upon her right arm is a formittable armored gauntlet with bright blue veins creeping up her neck. She turns her gaze towards them, her eyes now completely alight with that same blue energy.
Tari: Sorry for the hold up. Now then........
Tari turns to the Xel'Takau, its eyes now ablaze with scarlet rage as burning Kuva percolates in its mouth. Soldine is eager to get back into the fight while Pietro and the RED Engineer are still a bit awestruck.
Tari: Who's ready for round two?
The Broodlord howls as a maelstrom of scarlet soulfire erupts from its mouth, and Tari brings up a barrier just in time to deflect the oncoming flames. Soldine leaps up into the air and over the flames before unleashing a full Salvo of rockets into the Broodlord's face. The worm head rears up and strikes at Soldine in an attempt to crush him. Tari blinks forward and deflects the oncoming strike with a blow from her Mace. A sickening crunch can be heard as one of its jaws goes flying off into the distance. Xel'Takau swiftly maneuvers away from the cliff, hissing with venomous ire.
Clench: D'aw, what the matter? Got a toothache?
Marston and the RED Sniper watch as the two start catching up with Xel'Takau. The Sniper is awestruck by Tari's sudden comeback.
R. Sniper: Holy hell, where the hell did all that gusto come from?
The captain seems much more concerned as he helped the RED Engineer out from the wreckage. He carries the wounded Engineer to safety as he looks over to the alcove and notices Tödliche watching from afar along with the others. Meggy is also somewhat concerned about what's going on with Tari, whereas Belle is both concerned and awestruck
Belle: What the hell was in that syringe?
Tödliche: Oh, nothing major. Just a condensed Aether substrate.
Meggy: And it's just........OKAY to have that stuff in your body?
Tödliche: That depends on the context at hand. Even a quarter of the dosage I gave her would prove fatal to an average person.
He continues to look on as the battle ensues. Even beneath that mask, one could sense a smile creep across his face.
Tödliche: But your friend isn't exactly average. Is she?
Xel'Takau swipes with its staff like a wild animal as Tari flies circles around it. Every near hit is met with a retaliatory Mace strike as sparks fly with every clash. Meanwhile, Pietro is biding his time to look for an opening when he begins to notice Soldine just standing there. The crackling of energy can be seen across his body as his muscles bulge and ripple with a newfound strength. He glances over to Pietro before turning his gaze back to the Broodlord. It brings down its scepter with an overhead swing, once again missing Tari by a mile. With all his strength, he withstands the impact. His fingers crater into the crystaline surface of the crystal shard. The Broodlord suddenly finds itself struggling to free the staff from his grasp. He turns back to an awestruck Pietro.
Soldine: TAKE THE SHOT.
Wasting no time, Pietro conjures a pair of blades and lunges onto the arm. Sharpened light bites into the soft cartilage between the chittinous armor plates as he runs up the arm before bringing both blades down upon its shoulder. Xel'Takau lets out a roar of agony as it grasps the spewing stump where its arm used to be. Tari swoops down, switching to her glave as she severs two more of its legs, forcing it to the ground. She and Pietro land right next to Soldine as he separates rhe crystal shard from the staff's head, using every ounce of strength to lift it over his head as it crackles with volatile energy. Tari switches to her Mace and begins charging it with every ounce of energy she can spare, flying a few feet back as Soldine orients the shard.
Tari: For the fallen......... for the Mushroom Kingdom........ for all the lives lost this day..........
Xel'Takau's pain turns to rage as it rears itself back up on its remaining three legs and prepares for one last attack, bearing its chest. Tari sees her opening and flies forward at Mach speed towards the shard with her Mace reared and crackling.
Tari: THY END IS NOW!!!!
The Mace strikes the shard with megaton force. A sonorous crack echoes across the shoreline as the shard is sent flying straight through the Broodlord. The shard rockets out of sight, leaving a gaping hole in the clouds, the cliff face.......... and Xel'Takau's chest. Where there was once a beating heart, it felt nothing more than a hollow crater. The burning flame fades from its eyes as it collapses lifelessly to the ground. Xel'Takau, Vessel of the Old Blood, was no more. The energy around Soldine's body fades as he cools down. Pietro disperses his blades and lights up a cigarette. Tari, having exhausted her energy, stows her Mace and falls onto her back as her arm turns back to normal.
Clench: Does anybody have an Advil?
As the sun sets over the horizon, the air is surprisingly cheerful as the Pyros have already set up a big bonfire. The RED Engineer gets straight to frying up burgers and hotdogs on the grill. Mario is predictably the first in line, with Meggy keeping him on a tight leash to make sure he leaves something for everyone else. Bob is keeping watch as Boopkins packs up all the treasures they found. Rufus is absolutely ROLLING on the saxophone to the delight of his audience, and Sam is helping Soldine repair himself and reapply some of his false skin. Pietro takes another long puff from his cigarette as Potman lays out his schematics for the resort. Potman actually seems genuinely excited about both the tomb and the city, as his plan for the "Mann Co Subterranean Resort" now includes plans for a museum. Belle is just chilling by the bonfire while Whisk is writing things down in her notebook.
Belle: You seem excited. I trust your second trip down went a lot better?
Whisk: Yep. Now that the Hive are scattered, it was much easier to get back down to that tomb. We were able to find another room LOADED with artifacts.
Belle: Really? You find any "golden age rayguns?"
Whisk: Not exactly, but I managed to grab a few for Ms. Purah to look at. She's gonna have a field day with this!
She shows Belle all the pictures she took in the tomb, as well as a few artifacts. Belle looks through the collection and picks up a small crystal tablet with an ornate metal frame.
Belle: Huh. I didn't think the Metarunners had 5G.
Whisk: Mr. Heilung says there's a chance this thing could still work if we figured out a way to power it. Maybe Tari could help with that.
Belle: Eh, maybe put a pin in that for now. She just fought a mutant demigod the size of a skyscraper. Give the girl a break.
Speaking of Tari, she's currently sitting down near a cliff as she watches the sunset beside Damien. Marston comes over to check on the two.
Tari: Hey there, captain.
He takes a seat beside Damien.
Marston: How you holding up, Winters?
Damien: .......... My head still hurts, sir. It's not as bad as before, but.........
He stutters as he holds his knees close to his chest. Tari places a hand on his shoulder.
Marston: *sigh*......... They knew the risks and so did I. If anything, what happened down there was on me.
Damien: It's just........... why? Out of everybody we lost....... why keep me alive?
Marston: I guess every soldier has to ask that question sooner or later. I can't say I have a real answer........... I suppose we all have our burdens to bare.
Marston lets out a solemn sigh. He glances down to the class badges hanging around his neck. The Engineer's now hung alongside the rest.
Marston: Just know that you still got people looking out for you. Someone to help ease the burden.
Damien: ........... Thank you, sir..........
The captain gets back to his feet and gives his back a good crack.
Marston: We'll be heading over to Bricktown at o' ten hundred. Potman called in ORG and PRP to clear out the remaining Hive. I say we earned it.
Deep down in the ancient city, a faint light shines through the hole in the Pantheon's roof. Within the makeshift research camp inside, Tödliche sifts through the destroyed computer's remains and manages to salvage its hard drive. The internals seem to be intact as he hooks it up to a PDA. Within the database he finds a plethora of documents. Some were merely logs documenting the Kuva's effects on the Hive and how they utilized it for their rituals. One such document covers the harrowing torment of the YLW Soldier. It remains incomplete. Other documents were simply schematics for the Kuva Siphons utilized by the Hive.
Tödliche: Hm.........
Further snooping uncovers a series of encrypted messages detailing some sort of partnership deal. Only two users are identified. One is Ruusul, and the other is simply an alias........
The Skybreaker.

Hasbro Marvel Legends Custom: Rex Charger and Electro-Charger (Review)

Introduction:
Rex Charger is the alternative energy specialist of the team. Along with John Thunder, he's one of the two new Centurions featured on the episode "Firecracker". He is a playboy man of wealth, a millionaire who earned his reputation as the best Alternative Energy scientist of Iceland, while Electro-Charger is Rex Charger's basic Assault Weapon System (AWS). Its major feature is a missile-launching backpack that can fire a Nighthawk missile in any direction. Its also includes a photon laser blaster, two quantum thrusters. They're one of the unreleased toys from the second year of the Centurions toy line by Kenner but, it was featured in later episodes of the TV series. In this review, the toy is a custom from a random figure of Hasbro Marvel Legends toyline. Using Mr. Fantastic (Skrull wave) head sculpt (HS) and DeadPool X-Force body. The figure was customized by Ruby Farisyi so, this figure is not an official release. The boxart is merely a photoshop work, I used to do this in all of my Centurions reviews in my wordpress blog.

Contents:
Rex Charger comes with his main figure along with his basic AWS called Electro-Charger. It has backpack with missile launcher, nighthawk missile, photon laser blaster, 2 quantum thrusters and a helmet.

Rex Charger is depicted to be a American man with a fine and slight muscular body proportions. He dons red and pale green exoframe suit but, in this figure he was painted lemon yellow. His exoframe suit is capable to combine with 2 Assault Weapon Systems called Electro Charger and Gattling Guard. His body was originally from ML Deadpool X-Force version, Deadpool body appeared to be muscular just a typical fictional American super heroes. I've always not fond with this kind of body proportions... I'm just glad the custom exoframe suit hides those steroids....

His HS was originally came from Mr. Fantastic which was customized and repainted to have Rex's facial features such as classic mullet haircut, contented goatee beard and blue eyes. Comparing to the cartoon counterpart, Rex Charger has dark blonde colored hair while Ruby painted his hair into redhead but, other than that Mr. Fantastic HS actually quite spot on for Rex. Rex Charger's face is seemingly based from Chuck Norris back in 1980s.

Rex's helmet was also added with clear colored visor like my custom Jake Rockwell's Fire Force, the color Ruby did for the helmet follows the Kenner toyline color which the helmet appears to be dominantly light color while the red mostly on the trims. Coming from Kenner, this is a bit inconsistent because in the cartoon, his helmet is dominantly red.

His articulations works like ML and Lightning Collection (LC) figures but, due to his full armor exoframe epoclay material several articulations were limited. He got movable head. He can still stretch and bend his waist a little from his ab-crunch but, in his exoframe clay almost blocking the whole mobility. His elbow articulations are very limited due to his armoric exoframe suit. He got rotatable 360 degrees lower torso but, limited due to his rear lower armor. Leg articulations works the same and originally there’s cut on his lower leg but, it was completely blocked from his exoframe suit. Although, I'm also thankful Ruby made the exoframe suit hides most of the visible pins on his original deadpool body.

Electro-Charger consisted 5 parts that must be combined to Rex's body but, in total it has 7 parts including the helmet. Despite, the large backpack Rex can still stands well without the need of base display. Like the helmet, this AWS design as well as the color follows the Kenner toy line. In the cartoon counterpart, aside the helmet color Electro-Charger has it's own design and color such as his backpack is orange while his photon laser blasters 2 quantum thrusters are blue and also, Rex's gloves are red. Frankly, I prefer the Kenner toy line color better since it matches better to his exoframe suit.

I can also make my own combination (minus helmet) without Rex's body to recreate the offline mode like but, since the actual Kenner toyline remains unreleased; what's worse the offline mode was almost never seen in the cartoon so, no one really knows how Electro-Charger offline mode looks. However, in episode 55 (To Dare Dominion), there’s a scene where the Centurions AWS turned into somekind of robotic creatures due to the alternate reality that Doc Terror created, during this scene Rex's basic AWS is transformed into somekind of robotic anglerfish like.

Thoughts:
This custom is a perfect conversion compared to my 3 Centurions figures that I reviewed from my old blogs, Rex Charger came out to be perfect made and plays solid. Although, the paintapp is still one of the main problem which they still chipped in certain articulation demonstration but, it's much improved compared to the previous 3. Ruby really done his best on this, and you can check the trio reviews in here.

Thank youu for reading😁🙏🏻

i haven't really talked about vesta and reive on tumblr very much... 4 vesta (they/them) and imber reive (she/her) are girl* best rival mech pilots. vesta grew up in foster care on mars and bounced when they turned 18. at some point after starting their career as an independent mercenary exoframe pilot their legs got crushed and didn't heal properly so they use a wheelchair when not in very low or zero gravity. reive has rich parents on earth still waiting for their perfect son to come home, so she takes great pleasure in being their faildaughter and the system's best exoframe pilot (disputed) instead. she's skimming money from her parents' company to fund her exoframe repairs and maintenance so she can only take jobs that help people instead of the standard "whoever pays wins" arrangements.
vesta is kind of cold and starts off fairly self-interested and amoral, whereas reive is objectively working for better causes but is also kind of vicious on purpose.
their story is called "kinematic pairs"
In classical mechanics, a kinematic pair is a connection between two physical objects that imposes constraints on their relative movement (kinematics).
once the connection has been formed, they can no longer move freely without regard to each other. it's yuri.
major inspirations for this included gundam and armored core (vesta started out as "i should design my armored core 6 theoretical protag), obviously. reive specifically is also like. i designed her and went oops i made trans woman char by accident. not so much in backstory/motivations but.
anyway i've also got a playlist for them on spotify

Sucker,
I don't believe we have met but I saw your wondering about for engineering advice and I simply cannot keep my mouth shut on these matters! In particular you were turned by Sally onto hull redundancy, yes? Already a strong suit of the Gilgamesh from my experience servicing one. If I got to throw in an unsolicited 2 manna...
Are you aware of the Kangto? It is a recent development in the arms catalogues, GMS has had their nose on the grindstone in gathering some research shared between their engineers and C&H's ruggedization work. It is an endo-chassis, made to exist within your mech to decouple critical systems and act independently in the moment of runaway meltdown or effective-kill. Your universal part stockpile and quick-repair capability would have to take a dip, but if you are a Gil pilot you are hardly wanting for it. And in place of it, you would have a second chance ready for the odd lucky sniper of short-cycle hit!

//Sucker\\
My main issue with the Kangto is its deployment renders the lost mech unsalvageable. Sure, the redundancy is nice, but depending on what the classification of the kill is, you can still bring the Mech back to full functionality, something the Gill is already built for to a standard that makes catastrophic kills and total loss of the mech harder to achieve. Not to mention the Kangto's endoskeleton would need to be made compatible with the unique exoframe construction of the Gilgamesh.
It looks like a great idea on paper, but it works against a lot of what the Gilgamesh is meant to achieve and adds extra complexity and points of failure.
//For Cogito Ergo Sum\\
(OOC: The reason I don't use this is that Suldan is not often run in the circles I frequent, and for good reason. Suldan's balancing leaves a bit to be desired, and can easilly make life for the GM hell, when they are also supposed to be having fun. The internal redundancies, while inspired by the blow-out panels core bonus from Suldan, are meant to be a piece of exotic gear instaid. (there's another exotic Sucker is going to have, but that's a different thing.))
