The last 2 fics were so good!!
Considering Wendy will be in town for a few days could you write a fic where Max is the sickie and Wendy as caretaker? Maybe she wants to thank him for helping her, and he’s just not feeling well for some reason reason.
Oh we're gonna OD on Wendy this week. I love love LOVE writing her with Vince and I've been going insane trying to think of a way of having her interact with Max, so now you guys are gonna have to put up with me milking this scenarios sooo much.
-------------------
Excedrin had a really nice side effect of wiping Wendy's memory better than Tequila did. Sure, just like Tequila it left her feeling queasy and a little woozy, but it was better than the shrapnel of pain digging through her eyes or even the memory of the pain.
Despite the memory loss, Wendy knew something had happened. She had been conscious enough during most of Max's rescue, so his participation wasn't lost in the void, just Vince's arrival. And Vin was acting weird.
He was always a touchy person, but something was just... Off.
When Wendy came to be, around 5 AM next day, she realized she had been lying halfway across his lap for all of the night. Vince was still as a statue, but as she let out a groan, all muscles sore and her head swimming, he had woken up immediately. Hands cupping her cheeks and asking over and over if she was alright and, again, it was normal for him to be touchy and caring and loving... But this was just a tad much.
Next day he had to go to work still - how he was functioning after sleeping sitting up most of the night and tending to her, Wendy didn't know - so Wen had spent most of her morning lazing in bed, until lunch time when Vince came back with flowers and food for them both.
"I can't stay, I need to go back to finish my classes, but I didn't want you to have lunch alone," he had explained, while planting the huge bouquet of tulips in her arms and frankly, how was she supposed not to swoon?
He didn't let her get up to grab even a fork and had been doting on her like Wendy was a baby bird with a broken wing. Fluttery kisses all over her face, stamped to her brow, her nose, her cheeks, her lips.
"I'm alright, you know?" Wendy grabbed his face, allowing her fingers to sink in his cheeks to keep him put, "I know migraines are scary, but between me and Luke you're a pro at them. So what's up, hon?"
"Nothing," Vince wrinkled his nose, averting his eyes. He was a shitty liar, she loved that about him, "just worried about you, that's all."
She let it slide, not in the mood to search for any sort of conflict. If Vince wanted to treat her like his little porcelain doll, then so be it.
It wasn't until later that night, when they were cuddled up in bed and Wendy was pressed so close to Vince she could feel every little noise and movement from his body, that he asked, "so you were put on administrative leave? What happened?"
"Went over the limit of hours," Wendy pressed her nose to his collarbone, a kiss to his naked chest and inhaled him, breathing out as all tension left her. Vin was playing with the ends of her hair, his chin pressed to the top of her head and she heard his chuckle rumble deep inside of him.
"Is that even a thing?" He nibbled the top of her ear, teeth grazing it and causing Wendy to squirm as it tickled, "what's the limit?"
"80 hours per week..." she mumbled, trying to muffle the sound of her words. Vince heard her loud and clear though, because he tensed and moved under her, so he could glare at her.
"80?" He moved a hand from her head in order to count on his fingers, "that's... That's nearly twelve hours per day, Wendy. How did you even manage to- how many did you do?"
"Not important," Wendy pouted, moving up on the bed to press herself back against him, planting a kiss on the corner of his mouth, "not important at all."
"They suspended you," Vince scoffed, "it's a little fucking important, Wendy."
"No," she whined, kissing his neck, "not important at all."
It seemed it wasn't only her avoiding conflict, because while she could still hear his thoughts whirling and the answer on the tip of his tongue, Vince only grumbled and squeezed her into a hug.
She had driven over on a Tuesday and wasted all of Wednesday doing nothing in bed and recovering, so it was Thursday when Wendy felt like herself again. She was so happy to be with Vince, that she wasn't even pissed off when she woke up with him moving around in the barely lit bedroom.
"What time is it?" Wendy yawned, rolling on the bed and searching for her phone. Vince, who was in the kitchen area, quietly sipping coffee and watching her sleep, jerked slightly.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you-"
"You didn't," Wendy rubbed her eyes, sitting up and studying him from head to toe, "you look so hot."
Her boyfriend grinned, lowering his mug inside the sink and crossing the room to kiss her, lips crashing against hers and pushing Wendy flat on her back, "it's your eyes."
"Uh-hu," Wendy sighed happily, fingers gently drifting over his curls in order to not mess them up. He had clearly been up for at least an hour, because his hair was humid but not wet and the curls were forming into spirals instead of the loose waves she saw after a shower, "mine and everyone else's in town..."
Vince paused, half lying on top of her, his chin resting in the valley between her breasts. He huffed out an amused breath, then caught her eyes, "I'm really sorry I wasn't here sooner when you were sick-"
"Oh, stop it," Wendy rolled her eyes, squirming so she could wrap her legs around his waist, "I said it before, we're fine. I'm fine. It was just a bad migraine and I wasn't even alone-"
"And what if Max hadn't saved you from the side of the road? There's no way you could've called me- And who knows if I would have even picked up mid class," Vince glared at her, "you could've been seriously hurt."
"That's on me for driving on top of a migraine, ho-"
"A migraine you got because you're overworked and exhausted," Vince sighed, moving so he could cup her cheek with a hand, "and you're overworked because you don't want to be home alone-"
"No," Wendy glared at him, shaking her head, "we're not doing this," she shoved his shoulder off of her, "it's too early in the morning for this bullshit."
"It's not bullshit, Wendy, it's your health-"
"No," Wendy cut him off, sharply, "I'm not having this conversation now."
Vince's shoulders dropped in a defeated manner, the pushover that he was, and he nodded, straightening up and pulling her in, in order to kiss the top of her head, "okay, we'll talk about this later."
How about never? Wendy thought bitterly, but leaned against his kiss.
"I'll come back for lunch-" he said thirty minutes later, as Wendy drove him to the school, looking more or less put together and awaken.
"Actually," Wendy started to drive into the school's parking lot, "I was hoping I could have lunch with Max?"
Vince's eyebrows shot up and he stared at her, speechless for a second, before he seemed to come back to himself, "Daniels? Max Daniels?"
"You know any other Max?"
"Do you?" Vince squinted at her and Wendy let out a surprised chuckle.
"Since when you get jealous?" She couldn't help but giggle, "Vince?! What the hell?!"
"I'm not jealous!" He corrected quickly, whole face turning red, "I'm not, I just- You don't even know him..."
"Yeah," Wendy was incredibly endeared by this weird new side of her boyfriend. She carefully kept her voice neutral, "I don't know him, but he did save my ass just two days ago and you wanna bring him to our next cabin trip, don't you?"
Vince looked like he was caught between a rock and a hard place, from the way that he spluttered and frowned, crossing his arms. Wendy pressed her lips together not to laugh and leaned over the handbrake, school parking lot be damned, resting her hand in her boyfriend's inner tight and pressing a kiss to his cheek, "Vin?"
He swore in Italian, a string of cazzo-merda-culo, and then nodded, "I'll let him know."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah," he turned his head to glare at her, "but I don't know if he'll agree, dude's a bit of an antisocial prick."
"Jonah's my best friend," Wendy shrugged, pressing a kiss to his pout, "I can handle him."
"Uhm," Vince pulled back slightly, glaring at her face, "Love you?"
"Is that a question?" Wendy grinned, kissing him harder and Vince melted against her, planting a hand on her nape and pulling her in, so lost in the kiss that they only pulled apart when there was a knock against the car window and Sophia appeared with her nose pressed to the window, making an amused but disgusted face.
"Duty calls," Wendy smiled, bumping her nose with his, "I love you."
---------------------
Max wasn't entirely sure what he was supposed to say or do when Vince caught up with him just as his class before lunch started and said, "hey, my girlfriend asked if she can take you out for lunch today."
He had stayed frozen, speechless, for a minute too long because Vince frowned and let out an impatient noise, "so? Can I tell her you're going or not?"
Oh.
"Yeah, uhm, sure, of course," Max tripped over his words, then turned around and walked into the classroom, feeling like it was his best bet if he wanted to keep a scrap of his dignity. For all of the class his thoughts were scrambled, part of him thought he was fucked, that even if Wendy was about to be very nice with him, he had somehow messed his tentative friendship with Vince permanently by being just a tad too nice to his girlfriend. Mostly he was just lost.
Wendy was waiting for him in the parking lot, just outside the car wearing a stiff yellow dress and ridiculous chunky heels that made her look like Polly Pocket, except straight out of a 60s movie. She was wearing her sunglasses and waved when he walked out, causing Max to feel twice as self conscious as he had been before. This just felt weird.
He had a grimace on as he approached her and Wendy removed her glasses, a brilliant smile coloring her face, "hey," she gestured to the car, walking towards the driver's side, "I hope this isn't too weird, I just wanted to thank you for everything you did for me. You had no reason to stop and even less of a reason to stay... Specially after I puked down your shirt," she cringed, cheeks turning red and Max raised his eyebrows.
"I didn't think you'd remember that," he entered the passenger side, "you were pretty out of it."
"I wish I didn't!" Wendy's voice was bright and she slammed her door shut, "I'm really sorry," her fingers drummed nervously on the steering wheel, "so where do you wanna eat? As long as it's nearby, because I gotta drop you off or the teenage girls will have my head on a spike."
Max snorted at that, rolling his eyes, "wherever, you're inviting me, you pick the place."
He was probably gonna get indigestion didn't matter where she picked, Max shrugged.
Wendy bit her lip, seeming to be thinking, "I don't know many places around here," she admitted after a beat, "but there's this cute restaurant I saw the other day..."
Max was fidgeting on his seat. This was more awkward than any date he had ever been to. All his dates were awkward to begin with, but at least he could flirt his way into less verbal activities and that didn't actually require him to have any social skills. Besides, he normally wasn't crushing on the boyfriends of the girls he went out with...
Wendy was talkative and she matched Vince's sunny personality to an overwhelming degree, so Max nodded along as she told him why she had picked her sedan instead of other models, how she really dug his aesthetic and how he had quickly become a talking point among her friend group.
"Oh really?" Max frowned, holding out the door of the restaurant for her and following her inside, "I didn't figure Monacelli talked all that much about me."
He tried really hard not to let it go to his head.
Wendy turned to look at him, her eyes sparkling, squinting as if she could read him like a book and he felt his mouth go dry. This was bad, very bad. There was a wisdom beyond her years in her eyes, some secret amusement that made him feel more like she was laughing at him than with him.
"Oh trust me, he brings you up enough," Wendy sat in front of him, scanning the menu in a way that made Max wonder if she had been here before, eyes barely stopping on the words, "he told me you were his middle school bully? How's that?"
"I wasn't his bully," Max pointed out, frowning, "I was a prick, I didn't pick on him specifically. He was just one of the many kids who got on my bad side one of those days."
"So you broke his arm, but it wasn't personal?" Wendy grinned, not looking at him, "alright. Well, I hope you're not a prick anymore."
"So much so that you're taking me out for lunch, ain't you, gorgeous?" he mentally patted his own back as he regained his game. He was not about to let a half foot tall woman chew him up like that.
Wendy glanced over the menu, a smile still hanging in her lips, "I guess so," she gestured to the waiter, "so you guys are friends now, right?"
"Yes," he said it too quickly, frowning, and Wendy nodded, then turned to rattle her order to the waiter. Max hadn't picked anything and he glanced at the menu once more and said the first thing that caught his eye.
"So why biochemistry?"
The question caught him off guard and it took Max a minute to collect his thoughts, "I flunked my last year of high school, don't know if Vin told you that."
"Nope," Wendy leaned forward, elbow resting on the table and watching him intently.
Max cleared his throat, "well, yeah, I did. Bad attendance, grades collapsing at a alarmingly quick speed, I spent most of the year getting high under the bleachers..." he rolled his eyes at his own past self, "so I flunked. Next year, it was rough..."
"Parents?" She guessed and he nodded, glad that he didn't need to draw it for her, like he would've needed to with Vince. The idea that less than stellar parents existed never crossed Monacelli's mind, but Wendy seemed acquainted with it already.
"Yep. They were already divorced, my father lives in the next town over, so suddenly my mom was like, either get your own place or go live with James," he cringed at the memory, the hurt that was still fresh. He had been saving to go live on his own at the time, but being kicked out? In such a dismissive way, even, his mother hadn't been trying to hurt him and they hadn't been in a fight, this was just how the Daniels worked.
"You were eighteen?"
"Yep," Max grimaced, very happy when their orders returned and he could focus on the food instead of Wendy's intense gaze, "I dropped out school, got a job in the gas station," he smiled to himself, "and started studying... And suddenly it was easy, like all the noise ceased."
"Oh wow," Wendy's voice raised a note at the end and Max glanced up, forking a bite of his chicken salad and stuffing his mouth to stop himself from spilling his heart out, "home was the issue?"
He nodded, cheeks still full and Wendy let out a little huff, mimicking his tactic of eating to avoid talking. They chewed in silence, and the she said, "I remember the first night I spent in my own apartment and that I sat down in my couch and I just... Cried. I spent so long romanticizing it and dreaming of it and suddenly it was real and I was so happy, all I could do was cry."
He had done very similar, except his version involved a lot more alcohol. Max offered her a closed lips smile, then looked down, "so I got my GED," he continued, "and I started to get really interested in science, molecules, monosaccharides, how the body worked with hormones and how we were all just electricity... I was obsessed," now his voice got a fond tone and Max continued to eat, "my boss was the one who told me I should apply to the community college."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I was never gonna go to a big university," he rolled his eyes, "and even if I could get in, I certainly couldn't afford it and had already blown my chances to get a scholarship. Community College was the best option, I-" he paused to muffle a burp and then chugged his sparkling water, "I took the exam as a bet, bet fifty with my boss..."
"Oh no," Wendy chuckled, reaching in and grabbing the salt between them, "did you pay your him at least?"
"Her, and yeah," Max shook his head, grinning at the memory, "my mom was always this healthy nutjob. Very interested in being healthy, but all she knew was pseudoscience that she shoved down our throats. It was insane, mind blowing even, to get answers to things I had been asking myself since I was a kid."
Wendy was smiling at him from ear to ear, a cherry tomato poked in the front of her fork, forgotten, "and then teaching?"
"In college they used to grab my notebook to copy my notes," Max was now fully smiling, awkwardness melted away, "they first said it was because my handwriting didn't suck."
"I don't believe that," Wendy snorted, wrinkling her nose much like a bunny, "you look like your handwriting sucks."
"Well, fuck you too," Max poked her hand with his fork, causing her to squeal and pull it back, cheeks flushed as she smiled brilliantly at him, "but yeah, it kinda sucked. Not my schematics though, my drawings and graphs... I was- I am proud of them," he pushed a piece of chicken around, getting it covered in sauce, "so I noticed it was helping them, so around exam season, I'd actually put together a summary of our subjects, started charging for those. Not a lot, just enough to buy weed."
Wendy chuckled and Max took the last bite, "and then next thing I know, I'm having Sunday classes with my college buddies and I'm taking a minor into pedagogy and... It snowballed," he swallowed suddenly, feeling stuffed to gills and glanced down, realizing he had finished up the whole plate, "it's like I blinked and I was being offered to teach at my old high school."
She was staring at him, so Max cleared his throat, bringing up a hand to muffle another burp and mumbling a little, "excuse me- Ate too fast," and more than he had in most of his meals, "so, uhm- What about you? Vince couldn't be more smug about his doctor girl."
Wendy seemed to snap out of her trance, startled, and she reached for her juice, draining the rest of the cup, "I wish my story was half as wholesome as yours," she rolled her eyes, "or as heartwarming as Vin, who knew he wanted to be a teacher since he was ten... No. I wanted to be a fashion major."
Max raised his eyebrows, leaning back on his seat and spreading his legs, hoping it'd help with the heavy feeling in his stomach, "and from fashion to med school...?"
"Fashion was never an option," she scoffed, "I was not kicked out of home and I didn't have a job, I was a spoiled brat from Upper East Side and my parents are doctors... And it was always very clear that they would not even consider paying my college, unless I picked med school as well."
"Shit," Max grimaced, feeling slightly clammy at the thought of being forced into a major, "you didn't even like it?"
"I liked it alright, it just wasn't any fun..." Wendy shrugged, "but then I got to move for college, that part was amazing... The whole time, I was top of my class, I was doing the most, but I didn't fall in love with it, until I got my first patient. Second to last year of college."
He wondered if she hadn't fallen in love with it at all, if she'd still be stuck as a doctor just to appease her family. Felt like a too personal question.
"What happened?" His stomach let out a growl and Max fidgeted, pressing a hand to the lower part of his belly, hoping she couldn't see it.
"I got my first patient and it wasn't... Glamourous. Or pretty," Wendy smiled to herself, "it was in the middle of pandemic, I was hanging by a thread... And suddenly I made a difference. Hell, I made one hell of a difference and all I was doing was standard ER covid testing. Things were chaotic and scary and I wasn't just Wendy Marshall, studying to become a dermatologist and take over my mom's mini empire, I was Dr. Marshall and I was the thing keeping that woman in front of me together..." her eyes shone slightly, voice getting all choked up, "and... yeah. That was it, I was a goner since then."
Max's stomach chose this moment to make itself known, a wave of nausea washing over him and a burp sneaking up quick enough he had no chance of muffling it. His face caught on fire and he ducked his head not to see Wendy's disgusted look. They had been sharing... A moment? And now he felt like he was about to hurl.
"Max?" Wendy's voice was soft and she touched his wrist over the table, "hey, you alright? You just went white..."
"Sorry," he groaned, straightening up and pulling his hand from her hold, "sorry, I'm fine... Uhm, we should head back, I'm gonna end up being late."
"Yeah! Right, of course," Wendy looked spooked and shook her head, "I- I'm gonna get the bill, you wanna go wait by the car..?"
"I can take the bill," his voice was thick with nausea and Wendy had a glassy look to her eyes, a clear tell he had just ruined something. Max felt clammy all over.
"No, I invited you, remember?" Wendy stood up, jumping back when he attempted to take her hand, only for his hand to freeze mid air. What the fuck was he doing anyway?
"I'm gonna wait in the parking lot," Max grumbled, getting up as well. The parking lot was quite empty, peak lunch hour having already passed. He was most definitely gonna be late to his class.
Max leaned against Wendy's car, taking a deep breath and trying to lull his stomach into behaving. He was going to sick, that was for certain, but he hoped he'd at least make it to the end of the school day. Hell, at least out of her eyesight would be great.
Under his hand, his belly let out a growl and another sickly belch rolled past his lips, carrying with it the coleslaw taste. He glanced at the restaurant door, saw Wendy still at the cashier section, chatting with an employee, all smiles and bouncing on her feet.
He turned around, so he could hide by the trunk of the car and stared at the gravel, forcing up a small burp and spitting the thick saliva that was pooling in his mouth. Nope, he wasn't gonna make it until the end of school day...
"Here," Wendy touched his arm and Max nearly jumped out of his skin. He shot her a glare and she only smiled at him, so he glanced down and noticed she was holding a bottle of water, "you're pasty, Daniels."
"Uhmm," he couldn't and shouldn't open his mouth, if he got sick on her cute dress Max was going to pack his bags and move to the middle of nowhere, never to be seen again.
Wendy clearly didn't mind the fact he looked like he was about to revisit the meal they had just shared, because her tiny hand was coming to cup his forehead and his cheek, no permissions asked.
Max groaned, shoving a hand out and pushing her out of the splash zone as he braced forward, hands on his knees and legs spread out, "I'm sorry... Should've told you my gut is a temperamental bitch."
"Like its owner?" Wendy teased him lightly, her hand coming to rest on his back, "it's fine, you're going to be sick?"
He answered her with another burp, this one turning wet, but all that came up was a thin dribble of saliva. Max panted, impatient and humiliated, "can you- Urugh-" he belched in his hand, "go in the car...?"
"I'm a doctor," Wendy's voice came out annoyed, "your stomach might be temperamental, but mine is a strong. Relax."
"Not-" Max coughed and retched once more, another loud, brassy burp sneaking up, "not that. Embarrassing."
"Payback for seeing me at my worst the other day," Wendy patted his back and Max was about to tell her she was implying this was payback for helping, when his stomach churned once more and the next gag was productive. Incredibly productive, projectile vomit falling in the gravel and causing his ears to go deaf.
He hugged his belly, pressing a fist to it and digging in. It was bloated, not to his surprise at all, and let out a sickening sloshy sound when he pressed in- Max coughed up another liquidy stream, then opened his hand flat against his belly and pressed in and up, forcing up a chunkier mouthful of foul stuff.
He was getting nauseous on top of his nausea, disgusted it looked so much like food still- Wendy rubbed his arm, "Max?"
"Uhhhhm," he spat the taste, then finally took the water bottle she was still holding, taking a gulp and swishing it around before spitting it out, "why the fuck did I eat so much, so fast..."
Behind him Wendy let out a little snort, "that wasn't fast or much, you're clearly not acquainted enough with Vin," she squeezed his bicep, "done?"
He nodded, although he felt very far from done. The nausea had reduced considerably, though, still coating his insides in a way that he knew for sure would have him puking later as well. But for now...
Max pressed on his belly once more, forcing up a huge burp and Wendy let out a fucking giggle. Something was very wrong with this girl, he thought, straightening up. What sort of girl giggled when someone was hurling all over the ground?
"You're weird, Marshall," he said lightly, rubbing his face, "let's go back before I get fired for ditching my own lesson."
Wendy's eyes were pure mischief as she nodded, clicking her car keys, "alright... I hope you don't get carsick too."
"Get in and just drive," Max squinted at her, shoving her forward and causing her to laugh. Despite the queasiness and the fact his stomach was flipping and the humiliation causing his cheeks to burn, Max hid a smile of his own.

I cannot wait for the update. It's in my calendar 👀😅
How are you doing? I hope you are well.
I was wondering how the ROs would react to MC giving them flowers on valentine's day during the crushing stage.
I know I'm a bit late with the valentine's day ask 🙈
Thank you so much! I am doing well! I do hope you enjoy it. I do hope that chapter three isn't too short; it is longer than any other chapter in My Inner Sins, but either way, I hope you and everyone else enjoy the story.
As for the ask.....
💛 Marcel
Marcel looked at the beautiful bouquet of daffodils that you handed him.
The man in front of you smiled, and for only a second, you thought you saw his eyes tear up, which made you panic until he glanced back at you with a bright smile.
"They are beautiful....." Marcel grabbed one of the flowers and placed it behind your ear. "Thank you, $Name; I will make sure to repay you for this gift."
He held out his hand, which you took, making your skin warm all over as he led you down the street towards the boutique.
No matter what you said or did, you came back with a handful of flowers, chocolates, and an ecstatic Marcel, who made sure you didn't stay out too late and walked you home.
🧡 Margaret
Margaret was a buddle of nerves as she took the bouquet of bright marigolds. "I-thank you so much, $Name." Margaret said softly as she looked at you with shiny eyes, When your eyes met, her blush became more radiant.
You noticed her tapping foot as she started spitting out facts about flowers. As she hid herself behind the flowers, she made a sound like a squeak when her words started to jumble together.
"M-M-Marigold flowers are edible. Whether u-used fresh, dried, or infused into v—various beverages, m-marigolds have a-a-a multitude of uses in the kitchen."
You let her ramble on as you both walked down the street; eventually, she took your hand and gave you a nervous smile when you squeezed it back in reassurance.
♥️ Owen
"What the bloody hell are these?" Owen wrinkled his nose at the roses that you presented him with.
"Uh…flowers.."
Owen rolled his eyes. "Well, no shit lass/duck/lad, I am more confused. Why the hell are ye giving them to me."
You started to explain what Valentine's Day was and noticed how his face changed from surprised to uncomfortable. "Listen luv as much as I appreciate the gift; this holiday sounds stupid as hell."
You tried not to let your disappointment show; however, you knew that Owen caught the look as he groaned, seeming to fight with himself. "Food."
"What?" You were surprised as Owen put his arm around you, leading you down the street. "Lets go get dinner."
It would turn out that the red roses were forgotten on the table at the restaurant, but you both were caught up in the night of good food and drinks that Owen paid for. On more than one occasion, you saw Owen's eyes on you with a look that made your heart race.
💙 Rosemary
Rosemary smirked at you as she took the orchids. "Oh, dollface/handsome/angelface, aren't you just the berries?"
You rubbed the back of your neck. "Well....yeah, I thought you deserved something on this special day."
"I always deserve something special, hun, and don't you forget it." She winked, her shoulders a little tense as she walked towards you, seductively. "I suppose you also deserve a little token of my affection." She purred, and while her tone was light and flirty, it made you frown, and the easiness didn't quite reach her eyes.
You took a step back. "You don't have to give me....uh..any token. These were a gift."
Rosemary looked at the flowers and back at you with a raised eyebrow. "Really? No strings attached?"
"Of course, Rosemary, I want you to feel comfortable." Rosemary must have seen something in your eyes because her own immediately widened in surprise as she really took the flowers in, her gaze softening.
"Thank you, $Name."
🩵 Tai
Tai stared at the blue lilies, his face a bright red against his pale cheeks as he stuttered. "I-you-what-"
You gave the man in front of you a small smile. "It's to show that I care about you."
Tai didn't give you any more emotion as he turned around and shut the door to his office in a hurry, leaving you swallowing disappointment and cursing at the flowers in your hand. You started to turn around to leave the clinic, but Tai came out of his office, holding a brown paper bag and some water.
"Here." Tai said in a tone you didn't recognize as he took the flowers from your hands and sat them carefully on the desk before practically throwing you the weighted brown paper bag and water, not even wincing as you almost dropped it.
"What the hell, Tai?"
Tai just rolled his eyes at your tone. "It's sweet and sour pork with two spring rolls. It was my lunch for today, but since you got me these-" Tai looked at the flowers, his eyes softening a little, but his tone was curt as always. "gift. You can have my lunch; I hadn't prepared anything, and I am not one to participate in this commercial holiday, but you still deserv- expect something in return, yes?"
You looked down at the paper bag, and there were indeed containers of food inside. "I can't just steal your lunch, Tai; these flowers are a present."
The young doctor just pushed you out of his office. "Oh, please, you need it anyway, Oleander, with how much junk food you probably consume."
You started to argue, but like always, Tai just toned you out until you left. You actually did end up eating the food, which was delicious. Your mouth was still watering even as you dropped off the tupperware the next day, and you smiled when you saw the blue lilies presented on his desk in a crystal vase.
💚 Zane
Zane hissed. "Why are you giving me these?" He looked down at the tulips, like they were poison.
"They are to show that I care about you."
Zane's eyes narrowed, and for a second, you swore you saw something other than distrust in his eyes. "I don't need your flowers, Little Lion, but since you went out of your way to give me a sacrifice-"
"A gift." You corrected, but Zane droned on. "I shall grant you the tolerance of accepting them."
More than once the next week, you caught Zane staring at the flowers intensely with curiosity and confusion.

Platinum Bones Week: Day 6!!! WE ARE ALMOST THERE!! AAAAAAAH!!
This one is "Reconciliation"! Following the teenage King and Collector series, Collector's looking after some school kids who came over for a field trip at the Archives, but they have some... awkward questions. I'll admit, this one's pretty short and sweet, I've been running outta gas over here!
"And here..." Collector tapped the display glass case lightly. "Is a remnant of Emperor Belos' portal door, prior only to the current one we have today!"
The children had their eyes dutifully following wherever he pointed, and gave a cry of awe while staring at the broken off archway with a wing-like design.
"He kept this hidden from pretty much all of the Isles, however eye witnesses and engineers who worked on the portal have given detail on its creation and development." Collector paced around a bit, then put a hand to their chest. "One of such being yours truly."
"My daddy told me you were friends with him!" One of the demons, a little spider girl, raised a hand.
"Uh, yeah, but-" Collector tried to explain himself, but was cut off again.
"No, no, they exploded him!" A many horned goat demon corrected.
"Ah, that's true!" Collector nodded.
"Yeah but they took over the Isles and made a big mess anyway, that's what my big sister said!" The spider girl continued.
"And I'm very sorry for that." They put their hands on their knees and leaned over slightly, eyes shut and giving a little smile, trying to seem passive. "But on the plus side, I'm here to teach everyone about what you missed out on now, and everything's okay!"
"My mom says you're a monster." A third child, a witchling with puffy hair covering their eyes chimed in.
"... where is your teacher?" Collector wondered aloud as he stared at the group of children brought in for a field trip at the Archives.
"Collector!" King broke the ice by running into the room calling for him. "Hey buddy! You willing to trade a non duplicate rare plush for something you might want?"
Collector immediately beamed, and turned to King. "Depends. What is it?"
"Feast your eyes on this!" King raised up a a small toy donkey, one that had bright pastel colors, rainbow hair and an ornate saddle even. "An authentic 1985 Fancy Prancer Rose Bouquet!"
"Whaaat!!!" Collector yelled, eyes sparkling, pigtails flying in the air as they rushed to look at the toy King had presented. "She's so beautiful! How did you get her?!"
"Luz actually found her at a garage sale. Family didn't know what they had." King shrugged. "Y'know she's more of a Tiny Biomes person so she thought of giving it to you."
"And your first thought was to instead use it to get a rare trade out of me." Collector put their hands on their hips, shaking their head, though their grin showed some sportsmanship. "I'd be mad if I didn't find it so cute when you show your bad boy side."
King held Rose Bouquet close to his chest. "You're still trading me though, right?"
"Yeah, yeah, you big dummy." Collector playfully hit him on his shoulder.
"Hey. I'm sorry, but, you're King, right?" One of the kids finally broke the stunned silence they had all fallen into, going up to the titan's tail and tugging it lightly.
"Hm?" The titan hummed, turning to the child. "Yes I am, what's up?"
"You're the last titan." The child looked up at him with awe. "And a hero! What's it like?"
"Oh, well, it's uh... interesting?" King wasn't sure how to answer, awkwardly giving a smile. "Those two things are uh, well they feel pretty different."
"Hey, aren't you two supposed to hate each other?" The spider girl asked, pointing to both King and Collector.
The two teenagers eyed each other for a second.
"Heh, that's funny you say that, King is my best friend." Collector spoke with an awkward brsak in his voice.
"But collectors hunted titans! You can say that all you want but I bet he only says he likes you because he's scared of you!" The goat demon stomped their hoof.
"Ah, uhm." Collector averted his gaze, tugging on his pigtail slightly, looking pretty uncomfortable. "Well, it's not... like that, I mean, if he didn't want to, I mean, I wouldn't force him..."
King let out a scoff and abruptly put his arm around Collector, pulling him close. "Well that's where you're wrong, because I do want to be Colly's best friend."
Collector didn't say anything, but looked up at him and gave him a little smile.
"And besides." King turned his snout up with pride. "You forget how strong titans are! There's a reason titans went toe to toe with collectors! Our magic is so strong we can cancel out their magic, and my dad was responsible for imprisoning Collector once!"
That got all the kids to gasp in awe again.
"Ohhhh, I get it! So if he tries anything you can totally fight back!" The spider girl made a motion of punching the air.
"Mmmyeah, but I'd rather not, I trust Colly to behave." King smiled slightly and tucked his snout under Collector's chin affectionately, giving a nuzzle.
Collector held his horns in response and gave a mischievous grin. "Yeah but what if I wanna play fight?"
King grinned and growled playfully, tail wagging. "Right here? You better have reinforced those display cases!"
"Hey, what about our tour?" One of the kids protested, reminding the two they were still there.
"You still wanna take care of those kids?" King asked Collector. "Where'd their teacher go anyway?"
"Maybe we can look for them together!" Collector held King's paws. "I know they're a bit blunt, but I know what it's like to be a kid who annoys others."
"Yeah, me too." King looked down and gave an awkward little smile.
"Hey, we're still right here!" The goat kid called.
Collector gave a little laugh. "Alright, alright, let's go find your teacher."
They offered their hands to each be held by a kid and walked on, the others also following them.

Tears of Themis: 4 ML
Getting Them Flowers
How I think each Tears of Themis ML would react to MC/you getting them flowers. This is taking place after the second anni!
Note: I'm bad at writing! This might not be character accurate.
Artem Wing (Zuo Ran)
You buy two red tulips, only two. You then have to wait for him to leave his office, that's when you strike. You sneak in and leave the two red tulips and a sticky note saying: I love you :) now just wait for him to go back inside.
When he sees the tulips he's confused at first until he sees the sticky note. His ears immediately start to redden. Nobody's ever gotten Artem flowers especially romantically. He grabs his phone to send a message simply saying "thank you." he doesn't know how else to express his feelings, you guys are working he can't hold you or kiss you.
When the two of you get home though... that's a different story.
Marius Von Hagen (Lu Jinghe)
You decide to make a cute little basket for your fiance since the two of you have been busy with work. You go to a local flower shop and see some beautiful forget-me-nots. You decorate the basket with flowers some little drawings and candies. Then you give a call to Vincent so he can leave it in Marius' office.
When Marius arrives at Pax and makes his way to his office he notices that you didn't send him a good morning message like you normally do, he gets slightly saddened at the fact you didn't but when he sees the elevator doors open. The pretty basket appears in front of him. He sees the name and letter inside saying "good morning" and a cute heart next to your name. He smiles immediately and his heart heats over. Vincent then explains that you made the basket and then asked him to deliver it. Marius decides to send you a message about not working tomorrow, along with a thank you.
I wonder what will happen tonight ;)
Luke Pearce (Xia Yan)
You decide to make two white lily flower crowns for you and your fiance. You're super excited to see what his cute face will look like with a flower crown. You are struggling to make it for a bit, but then you get the hang of it. You then get ready to go to Luke's place. You don't knock or anything and just break in with your hands behind your back.
Luke was just on his bed reading something with Peanut until you break in, Peanut falls off of Luke's shoulder and he goes wide-eyed at the fact you just broke in.
"Woah! Peanut you okay? Babe, what are you doing here?" You smirk and run towards him, then hop onto his bed in front of him.
"I have a surprise for you!"
"What are you hiding??" He puts what he was working on down and then moves his hands to your waist. You immediately stand up and put the flower crown on his head. You then give him the other flower crown while putting your head in front of him. He smiles and puts it on your head.
"There you go my majesty." You giggle at the majesty comment, and just give him a kiss on the forehead when you stand back up.
"Aren't I supposed to be the one to get you flowers? Not the other way around." He just laughs and wraps his arms around you.
What happened to Peanut?!
Vyn Ritcher (Mo Yi)
You saw some really pretty white roses while on a walk to a nearby cafe with Kiki. You stop and tell Kiki to give you a minute while you buy an entire bouquet.
After work, you ask Vyn to pick you up. He immediately complies and when he arrives in front of Themis Law Firm you run to the car with the bouquet in hand. You immediately give him a kiss on the cheek and offer the flowers.
He goes wide-eyed. He doesn't know whether to accept the flowers or not.
"Are they for me?"
"Yeah! Who else would they be for?"
He has never thought of how to react if someone else gave him flowers, he can't help but feel all warm and happy inside.

24 to 25 days of SKZMAS | December 9th - Chan
pairing: Bang Chan x Reader
genre: fluff with a slight angst
synopsis: Bang Chan is an accountant at JY Publishing and as the end of the year approaches gets complitely drowned in work. His significant other is worried sick as he keeps coming home late at night.
warnings: -
words: 1120
9th day of SKZMAS
December 9th
Chan tiptoes in with a tired sigh, grabbing the bouquet of flowers tightly in his grasp. It's just past ten and even though it sounds quite late, he is immensely proud that he was able to get out of the office this early. He slips out of his shoes and hangs up his jacket before he heads to the living room where you are watching Home Alone.
“I love that movie.” Chan says softly, sitting by your feet and handing you the flowers. “How was your day, gorgeous?” he asks, taking your feet in his lap to message it.
You take the bouquet, smiling a little at Chan. “Thank you. It was alright.” you say as you look down at the flowers in your lap.
A strange silence settles on the two of you, only interrupted by the occasional screams of the burglars on TV.
“So, good news, I will get a big raise for all my hard work!” Chan says with a loving smile. “We can go to Paris in the spring as you always dreamed of.”
“In the spring…” you repeat, still not looking up. It is getting concerning. “Is that when I finally get my boyfriend back?” you ask quietly.
Chan’s face falls and his hand stops moving. “I don't think I understand…”
You sigh and pull back a little to look up at him. “You know, I really thought it was going to work like this. And I know I sound like an ungrateful ass because you do it all for the two of us but it’s just… too much, Channie.” you explain, and you can feel your own heart break at the words. “You were in love with your work first and I respect that, but I don’t want to be second to your job anymore.”
“Baby, you are not the second.” Chan says immediately, heart racing nervously. “You are so important to me. You are my one and only .” he explains. Are you breaking up now? Chan really didn't see it coming.
“Chan, hey.” you say, taking his hands in yours. “Stop, before you start spiraling.” you say and make him look you in the eyes. “I am worried about you… and a little frustrated, too. Very frustrated, in fact.”
“But… okay.” Chan takes a deep breath. “Talk to me. Tell me what's wrong.” he says with pleading eyes.
“No, you talk to me!” you say, huffing disbelievingly. “I don't know anything about you these days! You spend more time in the office than at home, and- and I have no way of knowing what you're doing or- with who.” you mumble, arms crossed and looking away.
“You-” Chan’s face falls at the accusation. Him and cheating? “I cannot believe you accused me of cheating.” he says, his face looking like a puppy that has been kicked. “I thought you trust me…”
“I don't- I just don't know what to think anymore!” you say, voice louder now and you feel guilt bubbling up in your chest. You cannot swallow these words anymore, though. “I cannot help but think you have- found better ways to spend your time than coming home! And how am I supposed to know?! I don't know your coworkers, we don't go out anymore, for all I know you are just waiting for the right time to break up with me!”
“That’s not true!” It's Chan’s turn to raise his voice. “I’m doing my absolute best to give you the life you deserve! To live comfortably and have your dreams come true! You are the only thing that keeps me going these days because I know in the end it will be all worth it.” Chan says on the verge of crying out of frustration.
There is a moment of silence till you both savor the words that left your mouths. It tastes bitter.
“I’m sorry I'm not around much, but I feel like I shouldn't slack off.” he shrugs, his whole body aching and suddenly feeling his tiredness crash over him. “I’m sorry I wasn't here much. I will do better.” he says in defeat. He feels like he will never be good enough.
You watch him, slumping over himself and looking like he is about to physically break in front of you. Despite you being together for over a year now, it's still rare that Chan lets his insecurities show like this.
Berry struts in, looking between the two of you and deciding Chan needs more of her love at this moment in time. She circles Chan's legs before sitting down on his feet comfortingly. That seems to be the last straw because his shoulders shake with the tears he is biting back.
You waste no more time, you step in – careful to leave enough room for Berry between you – and pull Chan in a hug.
“You carry so much.” you whisper, barely audible as your lips are pressed against his shoulder.
“No, it's fine. I can handle it.” he sobs, stubborn as ever. “Don’t worry about me.”
“You don't have to handle it alone.” you whisper as your eyes well up with tears. “I am sorry for yelling, baby. I went too far. It's just… in this silence, I get in my head way too much and this is what it does to me.” you chuckle with a wet sniff.
“I’m sorry I made you feel this way.” he sniffles, wrapping his arms around your waist tightly to pull you closer. “Let’s… go on a date tomorrow. I will be here by six to pick you up, yeah? We can- need to fix it.”
“It's okay, darling.” you whisper, holding onto him tighter. “We should take our time, I don't want to ruin your career… Just- let's prioritize sometimes, okay? And I want to know what I need to work on. Please… I don't want to lose you.”
“I just… need you to trust me.” he admits. “And I promise to call if I'm coming back later but I will try to finish on time.”
“Okay. That would be lovely.” you say and you pull back, kissing Chan's forehead. “Thank you, Channie. I love you.” you say, cupping his cheek and you offer him a small smile.
“I’m sorry for making you cry.” he sighs, cupping your cheek. “Can we get to bed, love?”
You don't respond, just take his hand and pull him towards the bedroom, for his well-deserved sleep. Even if the date idea for tomorrow was just a heat-of-the-moment kinda promise, it still warms your heart. Chan listens to you and cares about what you have to say. Deep down, you know you could never leave him, not even if you wanted to.
to be continued...

{Flowers} Midoriya x Reader
Summary// Soulmate!AU where everyone has different soulmate markers. Yours happens to be that flowers bloom where your soulmate gets injured. You just happen to be paired with the boy who breaks his bones daily.
Buds and small blossoms were the norm for you as a child. You would find yourself with little blooms on your palms or on your knees, your mother explaining that that meant your soulmate hurt themself. Maybe tripped or bumped into a table.
Your mom told you how the buds that bloomed on your cheeks meant someone was being mean.
As a teen you realize that the flowers on your body meant cruel things and cruel people.
"Hang on out there." You whisper to the flower on your shoulder, its soft petals tickling your skin. You wished you could talk to your soulmate through your skin like your mothers, how they could write on their skin and see the message on each other, or sing and hear the others voice like your uncle had with his wife. But you and your soulmate were connected by flowers.
What was going on in their life to have so many flowers? Sometimes you could feel phantom pains on your stomach as small bruise colored blossoms grew on your skin, or feel the sharp sting of a slap on your cheek the color of yellow daisies.
One day you're walking down the street when you bump into a green haired boy. You were in a good mood, lately there hadn't been new flowers on your body, which had to mean your soulmate was having a good week.
"Hi." You smile at the boy whose face immediately turns pink.
"H-Hi!" He stutters, his hand immediately going to the back of his neck. "Sorry for bumping into you, I should've been watching- not watching you! But watching out! You know- like how you walk and- and yeah.."
You chuckle. He was cute. Covered in freckles and with bright green eyes like the leaves of a tulip. "Don't worry about it." You hold out your hand and introduce yourself. "How about you?"
He shyly takes your hand. His grip is surprisingly stronger than you expected. "I'm Izuku Midoriya."
"Nice to meet you Midoriya." You smile and shake his hand firmly. "Guess I'll see you around."
"Y-Yeah." He smiles.
He smiles and for a moment the world slows to a stop.
You suck in a breath and hold onto your smile as you continue walking.
--
It's when you enter highschool that the flowers return.
You're in the middle of orientation when deep purple hellebores sprout from your finger. You flex your hand and feel the ghostly pains of a broken bone. Tears prickle at the corners of your eyes as you listen to the droning of your homeroom teacher.
What happened to start the cycle again? Why was your soulmate hurting? Who was hurting them?
For the first weeks of school, you're stuck with that question as you do nightly checks. Your arms were constantly covered in flowers, and if you were capable of laughing at something so serious, you would debate selling bouquets with the flowers you were growing.
--
The day of the U.A. Sports Festival you sit between your moms and listen to the pro hero Present Mic as he introduces the classes.
Your mom cheers from your left. "We’ll get to see the first years that survived the villain attack!"
Your mother on your right chuckles. "You say it like it was planned darling, they're only kids. They're probably scarred."
Your moms debate the mental health of the 1-A first years as you watch the students from your spot in the stands. The blooms were getting better and had receded, showing your soulmate had healed which allowed you to focus on the games below.
But then a new set of questions popped up.
Would your soulmate be watching too? Were they interested in the sports festival? Were they quirkless? Did they have a quirk? Did they want to be a hero? You couldn't stop the questions that flowed freely in your mind.
You lean on your palm with your elbow resting on your knee. Your face lights up with surprise as you spot a familiar face in the crowd of students from Class A.
"Hey I know that boy!" You point to Midoriya and tug on your moms sleeves. A smile forms on your face. You didn't know he was going to U.A. but then again you never asked. You didn't think to ask.
"I never got his number though."
Your mother hums. "Too bad, he's cute."
Your mom pats your back. "You can try after the games are over."
During the first and second event, you keep your eyes glued to Midoriya. He was a good strategist. Even if he hadn't shown his quirk yet, you could see how skilled he was. It was a far cry from how you met him. Stuttering and shy. He was confident now, albeit a little emotional. He felt different to you.
"You can do it!" You whisper to yourself, your hands clenched as you see him step up to begin his match. You believed in him!
"Welcome to the first match of the finals tournament!"
From above you could see the student across from him begin to speak. Obviously you couldn't catch what was being said, but you had high hopes for Midoriya!
"Ready? Begin!"
Midoriya begins to run forward, but right as he nears the middle of the platform, he freezes in place and stays there. You feel a shiver run through your body as you watch him. Why was he staying still?
"The fight has just begun and Izuku Midoriya is completely frozen!"
The other boy’s lips start to move. Midoriya turns around and begins to walk back to his side of the ring.
No. He starts walking to get off of the platform.
“What is he doing?” Your mom mutters, “Silly boy, he's supposed to be heading the other way!”
Your mother murmurs in agreement. “Could it be his opponent’s quirk?”
You didn't quite care as you stood up from your spot and began yelling. “Come on Midoriya! You can do it! Don't give up!”
He was just a step away from the border of the platform when a giant blast of wind came from his hand. At that moment you felt the ghostly pains of your index and middle finger snap. Baby’s-breath grew from your fingers.
You look down at your hand in horror as the announcer screams over the intercom.
"What's this! Midoriya stopped just in time!"
Midoriya was an inch away from the platform, but all your focus was on the flowers that bloomed on your skin. Flowers in the same place as his injuries.
You sit back down, ignoring your mothers as they continue cheering when Midoriya goes back into action. You don't see what happens next, all you hear is that Midoriya won.
On went the battles, but your focus was on your hand and the flowers that slowly fell off as the broken fingers were healed.
When his next match came, you looked up from your stupor. He was fighting a boy who had so far sweeped his way through to the finals. A part of you wanted to cheer Midoriya on, knowing that his match would be a tough one, but the other part was reeling in horror at what would become of his body. He broke his bones using his quirk.
Day in and day out, you had seen flowers grow on you, and you never had a face to link them to.
Cuts, bruises, burns, broken bones.
All from him.
You don't watch his match, all you hear and feel is the shattering ice of his opponent and the flowers that burst from your skin in waves of color. First his fingers, then his arms.
The match ends, and you are left sitting with hydrangeas and hibiscus, poppies and peonies all littering your arms as if you were a living garden.
“Sweetie what happened?” Your mother finally asks from beside you, or maybe you just weren't listening before. “Could your soulmate be that boy- hey!”
You stand up and push your way through the crowds, running down the line of stairs and around the stadium. The students were in seats across from you, which meant they had to have an entrance nearby.
A door lay in front of you, blocked by several Pro Heroes. You transform into a butterfly, not caring about the pain that rattled through your body at shifting into such a small creature as you fly past their watch and enter the stadium reserved for the students.
You fly past doors marked as waiting rooms until you reach the recovery center.
The door was cracked open, and inside you could see him. He was bandaged up, his body covered in scratches and bruises.
You shift back into a human and slam your flower coated fists on a nearby table.
His eyes open and he straightens up on the recovery bed, wincing in pain when he moves his arms. His eyes were dull with pain, but they had the same light in them as when you had met him for the first time.
Did that light drive him to hurt himself so much?
“You again- how did you get in here?” He sits up properly.
Your eyes are full of tears as you look at his casts.
“You.” You wipe at your eyes, spreading pollen across your face. “I've been a living garden for fifteen years and all you have to say is how did you get in here?”
You can hear the confusion in his voice as he mumbles a small “I’m sorry?”.
Summoning a claw, you pierce the side of your neck and make a thin line.
From his neck, carnations bloom from his skin at the same site of your wound.
His eyes widen in realization.
You both stay silent until you let out a breathy laugh. Now he knew. Now the cogs were turning. You were always so careful to not get hurt to keep from scaring your soulmate, but did he ever put in the same care?
“We’re soulmates..” He whispers.
“For fifteen years.” You repeat silently. “For fifteen years, I’ve had sleepless nights, knowing you were being hurt. For fifteen years you gave me flowers. Looking at flower shops were so painful because they reminded me of you. I couldn't even stand being at my uncle’s wedding because the arrangements reminded me of your pain.”
“I’m-”
You hold up your hand. “Why do you hurt yourself so much? Why go through so much pain? This quirk.. Is it so important for you to become a hero if all you get out of it is pain?”
With blurred vision and eyes stinging from tears, you look at Midoriya who had a quiet look of contemplation on his face. It takes a beat before he looks you in the eyes.
“I want to become a hero that brings a smile to people’s faces. A hero you can rely on.” His Adam's apple bobs as he gulps. “A hero you can rely on. I never meant to make you cry. I'm sorry.”
You slump down to the floor. You hear him squeak and jump down from the bed, letting out a string of “ow’s” before crouching in front of you.
“Really, I’m sorry-”
You place a hand over his mouth and give him a stern look. “Just shut up.”
“Yes ma'am.” He mumbles from behind your hand, his face obscured by the flowers on your hand.
“Ma’am?” A small laugh threatens to escape you.
“I say things when I get nervous..”
Despite the weight of the emotions you had been carrying, you finally laugh.
He leans away from your hand, a blush on his cheeks as you hold you cover your own mouth to try and tame your laughter.
“So um.. Im free Sunday. If you want to talk about how this'll work..?” He questions meekly.
You wipe your eyes and smile. “I’d like that.”
Extra//
You hang upside down from a tree as you watch Midoriya train. He had come over for dinner but as you waited for your moms to finish cooking, you both took to the outside. He had looked to your training grounds in awe and quickly pleaded with you to try out the course.
“It’s my mother’s, not mine, go ahead.” And how could you deny his bright eyes and smile? The damned thing could light an entire city.
He was nearly drenched in sweat by the time he stopped his run through of the course and his small session of shadow boxing. He wipes away his sweat with the back of his hand and sits down under the tree where you hung like a bat.
“Nice huh?”
“Yeah. What does your mother do to have a space like this?”
“She's a hero. But she patrols the west region. She comes back every few weeks to visit us.”
He bonks you on the head as he looks up in amazement. “She's the Transformation Hero Mystique?!”
You quirk a brow. “Bingo. How'd you get that?”
“Lucky guess.” He mumbles sheepishly.
“You saw her hero costume didn’t you.” You ask bluntly.
He fiddles with his scarred fingers. “I may have taken a detour when I went to the bathroom..”
You turn your head and give him a kiss on the cheek. “Silly boy.”

[ Part I here ]

Somewhere only we know... tw: teens been teens
Part II
The Girls were huddled together leaning on top of each other so they could admire the school gymnasium. It wasn't just any day in March, it was the first week of March and the cherry trees were blooming this late spring. The reason was key: The graduation ceremony for the high school teens.
─"Come on ‘Cesca, walk faster we are going to lose the front row!" ─She shook the purple-haired girl to join the crowd of girls who waited with a respective bouquet of flowers to those of higher levels.
─"I don't understand what is special about a graduation, they come and go, how much emotion to see them leave? I would be grateful to leave once and for all" ─Francesca maintained, taking clumsy steps as she tried to walk faster─ "Besides, why are you making me carry these flowers?"
The taller girl stopped short right infront of Francesca to get closer to her face as she covered her mouth in a whisper symbol.
─"The bouquet of flowers has a symbol of gratitude to our superior classmates who have given us support and security during our stay at school..." ─she glanced sideways as adults passed by, probably in as part of a faculty student tutor and then returned to her flirty habitual attitude more mischievous. ─"The bouquet of flowers is an excuse to approach the boy you like and ask him for his Daini button 'Cesca… How long have you been here now?"
─"A year and a half? Wait, his Da- what?"
─"More than enough," ─the girl laughed as she pushed a curious purple-haired girl into the central courtyard. Inside the Gymnasium there was a precise number of parents talking with their children and guests, some were taking photos and others were arranging the last moments of the uniform on that student who was about to leave, but among all the crowds some familiar faces stood out. Holly held a camera in her hands while she begged her husband for one more photo with their "little boy" who did nothing but ignore her, The youngest of the group was stunned by the great tumult of people gathered that special day, but he returned to lose his attention when he felt his mother's camera flash on him.
The red-haired boy lay seated, he did not have a school uniform as usual but a more loose clothing that would help him not feel so uncomfortable in that wheelchair.
─"You know Jotaro, all these events always seemed like a waste of time to me from an early age..."
─"I could say the same" ─he said in a tired voice and somewhat mentally ashamed by the loud pleas of his mother in the background.
─"But I can't help but feel excited about this day" ─He looked up to meet the taller boy's blue-ish eyes. ─"You know, it would have been an honor to have graduated this year with you." ─The black-haired man placed his hand on Noriaki's left shoulder, patting it gently in agreemen─ "…And rest assured that next year the feeling will be the other way around."
Kakyoin was a bit surprised to hear Jotaro's words for a moment but seeing him smile subtly elicited a response with the same smile, they knew everything they had been through and it was not minor. What he appreciated the most was being able to be enjoying that moment, that second chance. Behind them were heard quite loud screams of girls holding flowers for the tallest, this time the discussion was who had the largest and most colorful bouquet of flowers that was worthy for that man. Holly was delighted with so many girls in the place, she without a doubt knew that her son was one of those who always shone wherever he was but witnessing it was quite fun for both parents and especially for the little one who went through the same steps.
─"I see we have company" ─Kakyoin laughed without turning his chair at all without waiting for a response from Jotaro other than a big heavy sigh expressing all his discontent with the voices of the girls─ "Speaking of Girls… Do you know anything about ‘Cesca? I thought she would be with us this day."
─"I haven't seen her since the morning, first thing in the morning I heard the bell and I immediately ruled out the possibility of another guest upon hearing those high-pitched voices asking about 'Cesca and dragging her to school leaving her breakfast half eaten in furniture at the entrance of the house."
─"After all, she adapted quite well to a culture totally unknown to her" ─Kakyoin smiled, seeing Francesca in the distance being dragged to the gym.
─"I suppose so" ─the black-haired man stopped his answer as he observed the same thing as his red-haired companion, it made him a bit of noise to see her holding a bouquet of flowers while arguing with her level friend, it was not that it bothered him that she was participating in the graduation if not that he knew exactly that the girls of her age by holding a bouquet of flowers fully meant a reason to get close to who he liked but his question was, was that really the reason? A strange start in his chest brought him back to earth.
─"Highly strung?" ─Noriaki returned a satisfactory smile as he focused on the dislocated face of his partner, he knew from first source that he was a boy focused on his thoughts and it was not easy to get any expression or direct emotion out of him but there were acts that fully indicated what his mind was going through and this time it was the dilation of her pupils when she saw that bouquet of flowers on the girl's arm.
─"Not at all" ─Jotaro growled, returning his hands to his pockets as he adopted a more rude posture. ─"Let's go for her if you want."
He instinctively placed both hands on his friend's chair, gently pushing the chair, like never before. Fast memories flashed through his head of how recovery had been for the red-haired boy, she still felt guilty about not being there at the right time and once again felt the weight of the world on his shoulders.
─"Noriaki!" ─Francesca shouted excitedly as she quickly approached the boys while still holding the bouquet of flowers. ─"I thought you weren't coming today..."
─"And here I am"─he gave a sincere smile as he looked up. ─"I was impressed that you participated in the flower delivery this year, from what I see you have someone in your sights, huh?"
─"In sight?" ─Francesca raised her eyes in curiosity and then directed her to the flowers and let out a laugh─ "I really don't understand very well about delivering flowers, I'm just accompanying..."
At that precise moment the companion of the purple-haired girl came out from behind her, she had bright eyes and clung the flowers to her chest more. Without a doubt, she did not expect to be face to face with the black-haired boy and despite having a disinterested attitude she still brought I get his second uniform button. she bowed slightly to Jotaro handing over the flowers as a symbol of offering while she closed her eyes asking for his second button.
─"My second button?" ─Jotaro asked as he looked down to see the girl leaning towards him. ─"I have not the slightest interest in that silly tradition, save the flowers, they can serve you for another boy yet."
While in the distance an army of girls was heard surrounding both of them between shouts and threats of who had the most perfect bouquet of flowers. Francesca was leaning on Kakyoin's chair still with the flowers in her hand.
─"What's that "second button" Kakyoin?"
─"I thought they had explained to you since you carried the flowers for the tradition, 'Cesca" ─Noriaki laughed as he turned the wheelchair a little to be able to look at her in a better way when talking ─"Daini button is a very old tradition in Japan, it turns out that it happens in every high school graduation ceremony in which a boy presents his second uniform button to the girl in the form of a confession of love and admiration. It is said that its origin dates back to the ancient military who gave that button to their partner and / or lover as a symbol of pure and lasting love, and it should be the second position that in this way their uniform would not open and it would not look messy when serve... Although I like the story more that the second button is awarded because it is the one that is closest to the boy's heart, both stories have the same meaning at the end of the day."
─"I must confess that I adore the traditions of this culture, it suits me quite well despite not being fully aware of it" ─Francesca laughed in the same way as she looked again at the bouquet of flowers in her arms. She didn't even know what she was holding that bouquet of flowers for, in a year and a half she didn't know anyone enough to offer it in exchange for a button.
From the group of people a group of boys appeared, the one who was leading without a doubt attracted attention. His combed hair and his perfectly fitted uniform with a cloth faithfully tied to his right arm only hinted at being from the school board. He locked eyes with the lower one, smirked as he placed his left hand on her chest to remove the second button from him and place it in the girl's hands.
─"I was looking for you, my dear Kohai" ─he stared into her eyes while she did not know how to react to such a random event, the boy was quite popular with many people and that he chose Francesca among many others was only to raise his status with a foreigner─ "When the day is over I would like to exchange a few words with you."
That said, he removed a couple of flowers from the purple-haired bouquet and cut them to make a nice ornament in her hair, leaving the place with the utmost delicacy of a school president. Francesca didn't understand a single thing that just passed but it was evident that her face was taking on stronger shades of red. Kakyoin had been left blank with that event but he didn't care about that at all, beyond the boy and the reaction of 'Cesca about it, he was looking at the reaction of his friend. He was still surrounded by girls but his attention went directly to them, again the same look with his dilated pupils this time clenching his fists marking his knuckles tightly.
─"Do you know that boy ‘Cesca?" ─Asked Noriaki without taking his eyes off his friend subtly.
─"Know him? The truth…" ─she didn't know how to explain it, it was something so surprising that she couldn't even think the words right─ "He was in charge of teaching me school my first days here, don't misinterpret me, Daisuke is a very kind and attentive boy and from the On the first day he mentioned that he could call him Senpai" ─ she took a brief silence when he saw that the black-haired man was walking briskly towards them─ "you know, Jotaro never waited for me in the mornings to walk to class and many times I ended up getting lost in dead ends... Daisuke... He offered to help me but I never expected it to end this way."
─"I understand" ─Kakyoin sighed as he tried to lighten the heavy atmosphere that had remained, and that was going to remain for the rest of the day. ─"Jotaro, I suppose the students should enter... the sooner the better, right?"─But Jotaro did not take Noriaki's words into account, he knew perfectly what he was trying to do but he couldn't get the other out of his gaze, pointing to 'Cesca, specifically the flowers in her hair, in a very rude way he released some weighty words.
─"Take that off, you look... ridiculous." ─His gaze defied the crystalline gaze of the girl who was not going to give her arm to twist so easily.
─Come and take them from me, coward" ─she said that as she turned around entering the establishment, the red-haired boy sighed while the taller one returned to put his hands in both pockets.
─"It can always be always worse"
The ceremony had been quite emotional for many, boring for others but it had concluded in the best way, each student had in mind what awaited them in their future, The families would meet again and go home as it should be to have a small celebration with their recent graduate and after that they were finally free for the day, or the night as the sun was setting. The trio was sitting on the same bench as always looking at the stream that did not offer much. Noriaki for his part did not leave his chair and gave him the facility to get closer to the limit of the paved street and the stream, Francesca lay sitting with a half-drunk beer while admiring the button that had been given to her in the afternoon and Jotaro did not even He'd had his beer, he was just sitting staring at the creek meditating the whole fucking day.
─"What are you planning to do now Jojo?" ─The purple-haired girl took him out of her thoughts again, who left the button next to her to sit comfortably leaning on her legs. ─ "Are you planning to stay studying here or leave?"
─"Leaving sounds more ideal with what I intend to study" ─he blurted out softly without looking at her, he felt strange, all that day he had felt strange and he didn't know what was the reason for his stomach ache. He had defied more intimidating people, received deep wounds and now he could not be reassured only by an unfamiliar anxiety.
─"It's nice to hear you decided with your ideal… I still don't know what I intend to do in the near future" ─she looked at him for a good moment while she smiled warmly─ "but at the same time I must be frank with you; It will be sad not to see you at home anymore..."
Jotaro looked down with an air of surprise, Francesca inspired a serenity in her words as well as sincerity. He was so confused mentally that he couldn't find words to answer, perhaps it was true after all that that day he had been uncomfortable seeing her differently, and perhaps he had been holding back the feeling for too long.
─"I suppose" ─he blurted into the air to direct his gaze but he felt that he was slipping more and more to have her close to him, he felt awkward for the first time in his life, dazed and excited but there was no objection from them both.
Offering his left hand to the smaller one took it gently and that was what powered him to get closer to her and end the action with a kiss, subtle and without much experience. After a few seconds they separated without having anything to say, it was something totally out of the ordinary. Jotaro looked away indecisively as Francesca placed her free hand covering her lips.
─" was thinking..." ─Noriaki mentioned aloud as he turned his chair to look at them but meeting that surprising kiss made him turn to the stream once more, he covered his mouth with his right hand while letting out a subtle laugh─ "it was about time... I just have to do you the last favor" ─he said to himself as Hierophant Green made his appearance like tentacles crawling on the ground to take that button that Francesca had left aside on the seat and bring it to him─ "I'm sorry my dear bud, but it's not you, it's them."
That said, he threw the button that shone with the contrast of the light to the stream to observe how it went with the stream, he was not going to leave at all but he was going to grant that quality time to his friends. Something obvious a long time ago but he was going to have all the patience to wait just as they had with him in the hospital.
The kisses were concealed but continuous, each parting to regain air was a silly smile from the pair to make awkward movements such as combing the other's hair, fixing the uniform, brushing the index finger over his heated opposite cheek. Jotaro took her small hands to open them and deposit the second button of his uniform in those.
─"I thought you found the tradition silly" ─Francesca celebrated as she squeezed her hand, holding it gently to her breast.
─"And I keep thinking about it, but I know you like it that way." ─He smiled serenely, still sitting on that bench, that anxiety and stomach pain had disappeared, he could feel full and reciprocated. Francesca for the part of her couldn't stop smiling. It was something totally new for both of them, a feeling of happiness after a haunting nightmare.
─"Can I speak to you again? Or should I still pretend that I haven't seen anything?" ─ Kakyoin raised his voice and made them both start and separate taking their respective drinks while looking at different parts of the landscape. As he approached the most exalted was the purple-haired one who, taking both beers, announced that he would go to deposit them in the nearest garbage can, clearly hiding her embarrassed face.
Standing close to his partner and friend he let out a couple of laughs as he only hid his face under his hat, he watched the girl from a distance and it was he who this time placed a hand on the left shoulder of his embarrassed but happy friend.
─"I see it wasn't a bad day after all, you lost that tired look in your eyes and you even lost your second button. It is impressive how a mere impulse can change a person's mood but my question is Jojo: "
What do you expect from this now?
The question bounced in every corner of his thoughts that night, was he happy? Was he blissful? worried? Was he... scared? He got up from his bed taking a deep breath to rub his right hand over his face. He did not expect his impulse to be reciprocated, he was expecting a possible rejection and now it was accelerated, there was no co-relationship between his mind and his heart in those moments and it was what overwhelmed him. Placing both feet off his bed she looked around him, his room lying completely dark and only a beam of light reflected a couple of magazines on his study table. More than magazines, college brochures.
He got up slowly to go to the kitchen, late at night the only thing he could hear was his footsteps on that cold old wood that he had for a floor that squeaked step by step. Opening the refrigerator door he looked for something to drink while he leaned on the kitchen counter looking at the liquid that was inside the container.
─" Did your insomnia return?" ─He raised his head while Francesca walked to the kitchen anyway, her attitude was more relaxed than usual and she sounded even more calm and pleasant than other times─ "do you mind if I accompany you?"
He nodded as she positioned herself close to him leaning on a large counter, neither of them said a word and a little discomfort was noted in the position that the black-haired man had, his breathing was more agitated and she could predict it with the liquid inside the container.
─"Did you regret what happened this afternoon?" ─She sighed without looking at him, she had both arms crossed and her gaze was still focused on the kitchen window. ─"You don't need to worry about that Jojo, it's understandable that it was a mere impulse of the moment and..."
─"I'm not" ─he mentioned abruptly as he left the semi-empty container on the counter and took the girl's hand again abruptly to have her face to face, without saying more, they both found their faces again while a more intense kiss took hold of them. the situation, something more heated when brushing their bodies and emitting subtle moans when pressing each other. A carnal desire awoke them both together with the pleasure of rubbing themselves, feeling a distinctly new experience... When he separated for a moment from the girl, she lay sitting on the counter with both legs open and breathing agitatedly, for her part she could not say much since she was the same and even uncomfortable with those pajama pants that imprisoned him. As he approached again, the question returned to his mind
"What do you expect from this now?" and opening his eyes surprisingly, a ghostly hand took Francesca away, who did not fall to the ground just by clinging to said hand. Doubts returned to his head, but he in turn wanted to enjoy the moment that his heart desired, why not allow himself to be happy one night without worrying about tomorrow?
─"What was that?" ─Francesca got up while trying to regulate her breathing and fixed her pajamas─ "What's going on in your head?" ─Leaning on the counter, he looked at the kitchen floor in shock, still trying to catch the air─ "You don't need to hide your thoughts with me, I just want you to be honest with me."
─"Shut up!" ─he screamed and Francesca opened her eyes wide and then closed her mouth slowly but not completely, no words came from her but she couldn't stop looking into her eyes while she was against the light─ "Sincerity ? Sincerity is that this would not work, not for months or for the rest of the duration of this feeling, you understand?" ─His words were increasingly harsh and his voice was breaking more and more─ "In a couple of days I will go away, you will still be here... our destinies do not cross at any time and even if it were the case, there is no full possibility that this it works so... let's forget this, you have a great future ahead of you rather than waiting for one that will never come."
She had taken the words out of the girl's mouth, without a doubt words sometimes hurt more than a simple kick and this moment indicated it as such. She followed him with her gaze, watching his large back disappear into the darkness, the fact that he had faced the issue did not hurt so much, but it hurt her to understand it and know that it was not really going to work as he thought at one point when he was on that bench.
─"I would have preferred the excuse of your virginity a thousand times, Jojo" ─she tried to take it with humor while hiding the pain in her eyes, she walked towards the dark corridor pressing her hand on her chest, releasing her last words with a hopeless and surrendered voice-─ "but I totally understand your decision... I just want to know one last question, was the feeling reciprocated?"
Jotaro was sitting on the floor of his room, he was looking at the ceiling as if it were giving him the answers he needed at that moment but he did not say anything and he could feel the silence of the girl once more that she finished him off. break.
"Good night, Jojo and have a good trip."
he hid her head once more in his arms without abandoning the position that held his stomach, the moonlight this time shining on him and she knew that at least that night he would not touch his bed. He didn't want to sleep, didn't want to close his eyes; everything was a torment in his head but he only let out a sentence in all that remained of the night.
─"If it was reciprocated and I waited for it... more than a year ago"

Love is in the Air or Not | Kuroo Tetsuro + Yaku Morisuke

SYNOPSIS: Harry Potter AU - Two boys are pining for you.
READER: female
WORDS: 2093
WRITTEN: 03/17/2021
NOTES: I rewrote this a lot of times and I read it so many times that I started hating it, so I'm not sure if anyone will actually enjoy it but I spent too much time on it.
You were one of the rare girls who didn't give into Kuroo. He was known at Hogwarts for being a player and being absolutely wicked at sex. It was why girls always crawled to him—but not you.
He wanted to know why it was so easy for you to resist his charms. He thought he was quite attractive, and for you to not agree was an insult.
Kuroo approached you while you were talking to a friend. You slowly turned around and looked up at the tall man as your friend shuffled away.
He grinned at you. "Go out with me."
You laughed with a smile as you reached up to fix his tie. "You're crazy."
The corner of his mouth twitched. "Is that a no?"
"It's a big no."
"Why not? I'm a catch," he said.
"Because it's obvious you just want to fuck me," you retorted.
"Aren't you even a bit curious?" he asked.
"No, but I am hungry," you said as you walked away from him to grab a muffin.
You didn't care for relationships or boys, so Kuroo was a no-go for you. You cared more about your friends and getting good grades.
The next day, Kuroo approached you once more in the common room. It was times like this where you wished you were sorted into a different House.
"Go out with me?" Kuroo asked with a flower bouquet in his hand.
The flowers looked as if he pulled them out of the dirt from the courtyard, and you wouldn't be surprised if he did.
You shook your head. "I'm not taking these."
Kuroo's arm swung back to his side. "Why not? Girls like flowers."
You fought back the urge to snatch those flowers and smack him on the head with it. "Not all girls like flowers and not all of them want to have sex with you," you retorted.
You left the common room without taking the flowers. Yaku walked in the room with a muffin in his hand and a book wedged in his armpit.
"Feels bad, doesn't it?" Yaku asked.
Kuroo's eye twitched. "Mouthy already, huh?"
"You tell me."
"Smartass," Kuroo commented with a snort.
"I don't know. Why don't you ask my ass? Here, it's been really calm today."
Yaku turned around and stuck his butt out. Kuroo rolled his eyes and shoved his back before smacking him with the flowers. Yaku turned back and whacked him in the face with his book.
"Dick," Kuroo muttered.
"Asshole," Yaku retorted. "Did you ever stop to think that maybe Y/N doesn't like you?"
"Every girl likes me. They just want to be fucked."
Yaku rolled his eyes. "I'm going to the library. You're annoying the fuck out of me."
"Please do, midget."
Yaku ignored him and walked toward the library with his school bag. He didn't expect to see you there, standing by a bookcase though. He approached you hesitantly and you smiled faintly once you saw him.
"Hey, Yaku," you greeted.
"Hey, Y/N. How's your day so far?" he asked.
"Kuroo hasn't stopped bothering me. It's a miracle he's not here right now. You didn't shrink him and hide him in your robes, did you?"
Yaku smiled as he stuck his hand in his robes and patted his body.
"I don't think he's in there, but if he is, then I probably squished him by then."
You chuckled. "With that ego of his, there's no way we'll be able to shrink him."
He snorted. "You can say that again. I could power a whole town with that ego."
"Try the whole world," you retorted.
The two of you paused before bursting out in laughter. Students nearby curiously looked at you and the librarian shushed you. The two of you zipped your mouths and did your best to not laugh.
You never failed to make him laugh. It was why he liked spending time with you.
The two of you met in your first year and it wasn't difficult to become friends with him. He was a bit shy at first, but eventually came out of his shell when you started smiling and telling jokes to him during class.
"What are you studying for?" you asked.
"Charms," he answered. "You?"
"Potions."
Yaku nodded. "My best subject is Potions."
"And my best subject is Charms," you replied.
"Wanna be study partners?" he asked as he nervously scratched the back of his neck.
"It would be an honor."
The librarian shushed you again.
The two of you looked at each other before forcing down your laughter.
You enjoyed spending time with Yaku. He was humble, smart, and had a wicked sense of humor.
"Y/N, another Outstanding for you!" the professor said as he passed back your test.
You smiled gratefully. Charms always came naturally to you.
"Kuroo, Poor. Was this lesson too difficult for you? You usually do so well."
"Ah, well, I've been a bit under the weather. Maybe Y/N could tutor me since she's so smart," said Kuroo lazily.
"That sounds wonderful!" the professor exclaimed.
You froze and dropped the book you were holding onto the desk. "Please repeat that, Professor. I'm afraid my hearing is a bit wonky these days."
"You should tutor Kuroo!" he repeated. "Lunch is about to start, so everyone may leave. Y/N, I expect you to help Kuroo raise his grades."
You and Kuroo left the room, side-by-side.
"There's no way you purposely failed that test to get me to tutor you, did you?" you asked.
"Who knows?" he questioned with a smirk.
Truth was, he did fail on purpose to get time with you. But it wasn't because he had a crush on you.
He didn't do crushes. It was difficult for him to get attached to someone because no one was worth his time.
"Your technique is all wrong," you critiqued. "Why do you move your arm around like a dead worm?"
After class, you immediately dragged him to a corner of the library to coach him.
Kuroo rolled his eyes. "You're meaner than you look," he said. "Everyone thinks you're this saint, but you're really not."
You raised an eyebrow. "I think I'm pretty nice."
"If you're nice, then go out with me," he countered.
"I'm not that nice."
"Are you sure? I'm pretty cute," he said.
"That's a good joke," you retorted.
He rolled his eyes. "Okay, but I actually do have a good joke. Why did the ketchup blush?"
"I don't know. I don't like ketchup."
"He saw the salad dressing."
You blinked. "That's...horrible. Are you a dad? You're making dad jokes!"
"Hey, they're good! Look, look, I have another one, okay? What's the difference between a G-spot and a golf ball? A man will actually search for a golf ball."
You snorted. "Okay, that's actually—" You started laughing. "That's actually pretty funny."
Kuroo never noticed how cute your laugh and snort was. He liked it when you loosened up around him, so he continued to tell bad jokes.
"Stop making me laugh!" you scolded. "I'm supposed to be tutoring you!"
Kuroo laughed in return. "Think of this as a break!"
"We've had a ten-minute break with me laughing and you telling jokes!"
Other students in the library were starting to get annoyed with the two. At first, they were intrigued by you spending time with Kuroo, but they started to get annoyed with how loud you were.
"There's nothing wrong with that," Kuroo responded.
"Maybe. Unless you're actually failing Charms."
"I'm not. I'm actually smart, you know."
You hummed. "No, I don't think I know."
"Will you go out with me?" he asked again.
It was so sudden, that you didn't know what to say. And when you looked at how serious he was, you nearly agreed.
But you had never dated someone before, and Kuroo was known for being a player.
"No," you said softly. "But for good reason. Maybe you should ask out someone else? Like you said, you're a catch."
He nodded. His mouth felt a bit dry and there was a bad taste in his mouth. He felt a bit uncomfortable but understood what you meant.
The two of you met in your first year, but you only knew him through Yaku. Their families knew each other, so they grew up together.
You and Kuroo weren't close to each other, but if you were around Yaku, Kuroo would normally appear to tease him.
Along the way, he got intrigued by how you never gave him the time of day.
The Winter Ball was coming up. Students were asking each other out left and a right. Everywhere you turned, a student would be asking another student to attend the ball with them.
"Are you going to ask anyone to the ball, Yaku?" you asked as you sat down next to him in the library.
He suddenly seemed frigid. "No!" he exclaimed.
"Shh!" the librarian angrily shushed.
"You seem very eager about that. It's all right. You don't have to tell me anything."
He fidgeted with the ends of his robes. "Y/N, do you want to go to the ball with me?"
Yaku liked you. It wasn't hard to tell, and while you could picture a relationship with him, you weren't ready for one.
You froze, the book in your hand balancing on the spine. "I wasn't planning on going to the dance. I don't like loud, crowded places," you explained. "Sorry. It's definitely not you. Um—let's just study, okay?"
He felt dejected, but it was better than you rejecting him for another person. He nodded and opened his book.
Kuroo looked up from the couch in the common room once he heard the door open. You casually walked in, waving to others with a book wedged into your armpit.
He got up from the couch and walked over to you. You paused as he stood in front of you with his signature smirk.
"Do you want to go to the Winter Ball with me?" he asked.
"Yaku didn't put you up to this, right?" you asked.
"No. Did he do something?"
"He asked me to the dance, like, an hour ago. I'm going to tell you what I told him. I'm not planning on going," you said. "Dances aren't my thing. I'll just be in the common room."
You turned around and headed up to your dorm.
Dances weren't Kuroo's scene, either, but he asked because he wanted to get to know you better. But, he didn't mind the idea of spending time with you alone while the others were at a dance.
Kuroo left the common room to find Yaku to get some answers. Because Kuroo wasn't stupid—regardless of how people thought—he knew Yaku would be in the library.
"Do you like Y/N?" Kuroo asked as he approached him.
Yaku nodded, looking up from his seated position. "Yeah, I do. Do you?"
Kuroo scoffed. "I don't know. She's pretty cool though."
"Who knows? Maybe she'll actually end up liking you—when pigs fly," Yaku added.
Kuroo scoffed. "She'd definitely pick me."
The boys stared each other down silently.
On the day of the dance, you were left alone in the common room. The fire was going and you had a book on your lap.
It was quiet and peaceful, and you liked it. Until two bumbling idiots ran down the stairs while arguing with each other.
You looked up from your book. "Really, boys? You couldn't have gone to the dance like the others?"
"Well, the girl we asked didn't want to go," Kuroo retorted as he jumped over the couch and sat next to you.
Yaku quietly sat on your other side. You closed your book and placed it on the table in front of you.
"Fair point," you said as you waved your wand to turn on the radio.
You leaned your head back and closed your eyes.
"What are you doing?" Yaku asked.
"Taking a nap. We're not going anywhere," you retorted.
The two boys looked at each other as you drifted off to sleep. You didn't mind their company as long as neither of them bothered you—mainly Kuroo.
"She'll never date you," Yaku said.
"How do you know that? I'm a catch. I bet she'll date me."
"I doubt that. I have a better chance than you," Yaku retorted.
Kuroo rolled his eyes. "A midget like you would never win."
The two began to quietly bicker with each other. They were rivals, after all, and this was only the beginning.

"You're the only friend I need"
(not my gif all crdit to owner)
TW: cursing, drinking
Genre: Angst, fluff
It was never supposed to end like this. All you had wanted was the best for your friend, and the outcome left you alone. It had been too long since you'd seen him. Occasional 'how are you' texts were exchanged, although you both knew there was little hope for your friendship.
You and Johnny had history. A very brief history. Although your relationship was far too short to even consider it as anything more than a fling, he was the most impactful person you ever had the pleasure of meeting. You and Johnny ultimately decided to remain friends after deciding that it wouldn't work out.
It had all started when he met her, the devil personified herself. It was quite pathetic, the way he pinned after her. After countless bouquets-- which he made you help him pick out. She finally returned his affections and agreed to go on a date with him.
You never got what he saw in her. Perhaps the blonde hair, or maybe the piercing blue eyes. You had been turned off by her immediately. Seeing how she would push Johnny around, and try to force him into her narrow standards.
You hadn't realized the heavy feelings you still had for Johnny until she came along. Sure he was an attractive man, and he was definitely polite, and his smile. Oh, the wonders he could do with that stupid smile. At the time of your relationship, he was nothing more than a rebound. Someone to get over quickly. Someone who was there when you needed a pick-me-up.
Everything had been running smoothly until one night when you mistakenly decided to express your distaste for her. On a shockingly cold Los Angeles night, you had invited Johnny over for a movie. When he arrived, you noticed the large bruise that adorned his sharp cheekbone. He had small bruises running down his arm.
"We need to talk Johnny" you sighed pausing the movie, wine glass in hand.
His eyes shot open as his eyebrows went up as if he was coming up with some witty comeback. "Well that's never good" he flashed his award-winning smile
"I'm worried-- I mean I saw you two days ago and you were fine and now you're all beat up"you exhaled softly watching Johnny's face contort into one of defense
"It's nothing don't worry about it" he shut you down quickly turning his attention to the floor.
You inhaled sharply"It's obviously not just nothing Johnny. You're covered with bruises and you haven't been yourself recently"You explained softly, trying to avoid upsetting him
"Just fucking drop it" he snapped harshly. Standing up walking to your bathroom. A little piece of your heart broke at that moment. Partly because he had never spoken to you like that, and partly because he didn't want to talk to you about it.
Over the years you had spent a lot of time with him, and you knew something was wrong. You pushed yourself off of the couch and made your way to the bathroom.
"Johnny I'm just worried about you, "you said sitting against the door.
"I'm fucking fine Y/N," he said shakily. You knew he had been crying "Don't worry"
You sighed feeling tears form in your eyes "Does she hit you johnny?" you asked hoping you were wrong.
You heard movement from the bathroom before the door opened causing you to fall back slightly. He stepped over you quickly, dashing to the coat rack.
"Johnny, I asked you something." He ignored you and tossed his jacket on. You grabbed his arm." Johnny talk to me, please"you had tears running down your face.
"DROP IT!"He yelled at you, making you flinch back. He reached for the door and walked out.
Johnny looked back at the door, mentally cursing himself for blowing up on you. He sniffled and put his head down and walked to his car.
You spent the next few months hopelessly pinning after him, trying to mend what was broken. He continuously ignored your calls and gave dry responses to your texts. You felt idiotic, you always told yourself you would never chase anyone period. Let alone a man who most likely didn't love you in the first place.
Eventually, you were left with a harsh decision, loathe in your sorrows, or move on. You chose the ladder. It was hard to accept that what you once had was probably never coming back.
You worked through your urges to call him over and get drunk while watching stupid kids' movies, you worked through the undying longing to simply hug him. It felt as if your heart broke every time you just so thought about him.
Nonetheless, you were healing.
You felt better and better as the days went on. You even bought a cat to keep you company around the house. As much as it hurt to say you were beginning to feel the sense of fulfillment you had been missing for so long.
You were no longer subconsciously picking small things about yourself that didn't fit into what you thought Johnny wanted in a woman. No longer checking your phone every five minutes to see if he texted back yet. And most importantly no longer putting him before yourself.
Johnny on the other hand wasn't doing too hot. He felt himself falling deeper and deeper into a dark hole that he had no idea how to get out of. He was scared. All he wanted to do was call you, but he fucked it up. He screwed up the one opportunity he had with the woman he loved more than almost anything because he was too scared to ask for help.
One night he finally broke. After maybe one too many drinks, he packed some clothes (and a bottle of whiskey) in a backpack and left. He didn't know where he was going to go, as he refused to let himself burden anyone. So he just drove.
He spent two hours driving around until eventually, he ended up on your street. He didn't know how he ended up there, nor if it was purposeful but he gave in to the urges. He parked his car in your driveway, right next to yours just as he'd done millions of times before.
But this time was different.
There was no guarantee that hed be welcomed with open arms as he so desired. He mustered the courage to walk up to your door.
Knock, knock...
He stood there taking in the warmth of the summer air for what felt like an eternity.
Knock, knock...
He tapped his foot, quickly deciding that it was not too late to turn around and get back in the car.
"Hold on I'm commin" he heard your chipper voice through your door, and you scampered quickly down the stairs towards the door.
His eyes went wide and he turned back around just as the door opened.
"Oh Johnny it's you, "you said in a surprised tone as an awkward smile tugged at the corners of your lips
As soon as you opened the door all of the feelings you thought you grew out of came flooding back. It felt as if all of your progress was thrown out the window.
"Uh yeah I don't- I don't even know why I came here" he looked down shoving his hands into his pockets" I can go if you want me to"
"No, no it's fine. Do you wanna come in or are ya gonna stand there like a creep the whole time"you laughed slightly shifting so he had room to walk in
Johnny flashed a smile and walked past you, instinctively going to your couch. He kicked his shoes off as you walked over to him.
"So, how've you been"Johnny asked you with a giddy smile. As upset as he was when he arrived his mood changed completely just from being in your presence.
"I've been good, I got a cat. His name is Purrcy Jackson" you stated adding emphasis to the 'purr' "or just Purrcy for short" you giggled
"That's good," he said softly taking in your energy.
"What's really up Johnny, we've hardly even spoken in almost a year" you muttered looking down.
Johnny huffed in response. His face went pale. He couldn't keep running away from you. He truly didn't know how to put it into words. 'You're my best friend and I fucked it up because I as a man couldn't admit I was being abused by a woman? No. He parted his lips as if he was going to speak, then quickly closed them.
"Are you ok?" you asked gently reaching for his hand. Johnny's head dropped as tears began to form in his eyes. "If you don't wanna talk about it right now that's alright. Just let me know if I can help in any way"
He picked up his head and sniffled before he lazily slung his arms around your waist burying his face in your neck. You instinctively wrapped your arms around him.
"I'm so sorry" he cried"I was so mean to you when you were just being a good friend"
"It's ok Johnny, all I care about is if you're ok" That was a lie, in fact, it wasn't ok. But you cared about him, and a piece of you would always love him.
"I've missed you so much" he whispered"I love you"
"I love you too, "you told him stroking his hair
"No I really love you," he said pulling his head out of the crook of your neck"I'm so happy when I'm with you. I should have never even tried with her. You've been here for so long"
Your heart dropped as your face went flush A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips. He brought a warm hand up to your face letting his thumb stroke your cheek. His warm breath fanned over your face, sending the sour scent of whiskey flying up your nose.
"Why don't we wait to talk about this until you're in the right headspace," you said licking your lips.
He nodded and looked down"yeah maybe we should, but I really love you. And I don't wanna lose you"
"You won't, I promise you that, "you told him grabbing his hand softly. Rubbing your thumb in comforting circles.
"You're the only friend I need" he muttered wrapping his arms around your waist once more.
You knew in the morning things wouldn't be like this. He wouldn't be clinging to you for dear life, but at that moment everything felt in place.
You were at peace

A/n: Hey guys so this is my first imagine on tumblr. I know it’s pretty long but my fingers just kept typing.🙃 Definitely let me know if I should make shorter ones or longer ones or even a series! Also let me know if you guys have any requests or plots that I could write and for who! Finally finally let me know if you like it in a first reader POV or if i should try a third person POV! Oh and if I should post them in a book on wattpad or keep the content strictly on tumblr!!!😁 (Ps. I’ll most likely be adding a song to every chapter whether it goes with the chapter or not!) Check out my last post for more information on my writing.
Warnings: None
————
I sat in the studio along with my bandmates tuning my guitar. We were currently waiting on Julie to return from school so we could begin to practice for tonight. Her dad got us a gig playing for a couple of her friends to start a following. Which made a lot of sense when Julie explained it to me. Right after Luke sent me into a frenzie of confusion.
"Hey y/n/n you think you could help me with these lyrics for tonight?" Luke called from the couch. I stood up from my comfortable spot on the chair under the loft and flashed myself onto the spot right next to him.
"Sure Lukey" I said taking his writing journal in my own hands and sitting back to scan over the words.
Y/n- I believe, I believe that we're just one dream
I mumbled hearing Luke start to strum on his six string the melody of the song.
Away from who were mean to be that were standing on the edge of
Y/n, L- Something big something crazy our best days are yet unknown that this moment is ours to own
He joined in.
Y/n- Cause we're standing on the edge of great
L- (On the edge of great)
Y/n- Great
L- (On the edge of great)
Y/n- Great
L- (On the edge of great)
Y/n- Cause we're standing on the edge of
We sang to each other back and forth with smiles plastered on our faces.
Y/n, L- Shout shout. C'mon and let it out, out. C'mon and let it out, out. Don't gotta hide it. Let your colors blind their eyes. Be who you are no compromise. Just shout, shout. C'mon and let it out
We paused running out of lyrics. My mind racing searching for the next line.
Y/n- What doesn't kill you makes you feel alive
I sang softly as he leaned in closer with a smirk plastered on his face.
Y/n, L- Ooh-oh. I believe, I believe that we're just one dream. Away from who we're meant to be. That we're standing on the edge of great
We finished out of breath. My smile grew as Alex and Reggie began to clap.
"That was great"
"Yeah we’re gonna rock Julie's garage tonight" Reggie said making it sound less cool than it actually was.
"Definitely" Luke said standing up.
"Thanks for the help boss" He said sending me a smile.
"Anytime" I grinned before turning around to go take my previous seat to finish tuning my guitar.
"I'm gonna go find Julie and let her know we've got the song ready for tonight thanks to our amazing rhythm guitarist"
"Sounds like a plan" Alex said.
"Don't forget to mention how beautiful I am as well" I teased earning a smirk from Luke.
"I never do baby" He winked at me before disappearing. A small laugh escaped my lips before going back to my guitar.
"So" Alex said catching my attention.
"So?" I repeated looking up at the drummer boy.
"So you and Luke?"
"Me and Luke what?"
"You and Luke are like in love each other"
"We are not. Well I'm not. Can't say the same about pretty boy" I said teasingly.
"Yeah sure you're not. Reggie back me up here. Please tell your best friend that she's totally in love with Luke"
"You're totally in love Luke"
"I am not. Reggie your supposed to have my back"
"And I will. Once you admit you have a thing for Luke" He said smirking at me. I glared at the two boys in front of me who weren't as oblivious as I had thought they were.
"Okay so I have a thing for Luke. So what?"
"So you should tell him"
"Why on earth would I do that?"
"So he can admit he's in love with you too"
"And why would he do that when he's clearly not"
"Seriously? Didn't you see the way he was looking at you when you were singing? It looked like Reggie when he sees pizza"
"Pizza?" Reggie perked up excitedly. "There no pizza" Alex said a frown appearing on the bassist face.
"Just because looks at me a certain way does not mean he loves me"
"Really because last time I checked constantly touching each other means you like each other, constantly flirting means you like each other, and when was the last time you wore one of your own shirts" Alex said pointing at my outfit. I sunk back into my seat. He was right about everything down to one of the many shirts Luke had let me have.
"Come on y/n just admit it after we died something more changed with you two. We all see it. Even Reggie sees it and that's saying something"
"Yeah. So it's not like he's ever gonna say anything. So why should I put myself out there to possibly get rejected and heartbroken by my best friend? I mean how do we even know for sure if he's in love with me. Or even likes me for that matter?"
"We don't. Yet" Alex said smirking.
"Oh that's his thinking face. I haven't seen that since 94" Reggie said backing up slightly.
"I think we're in trouble"
It had been a couple hours after Julie had gotten out of school. Yet her or Luke were nowhere to be found. I groaned walking out of the bathroom in the back of the studio.
"Seriously Alex. This is your great idea"
"No my great idea is to have you and Reggie flirt like there's no tomorrow. This is just small details" He said fixing the fit of the flannel on my body. It was Reggie's lucky flannel that took a lot of convincing to get off his body.
"Okay but why'd I have to change my shirt" I said looking down at my own crop top that I hadn't worn in a very long time.
"Because it was Luke's. We need him to think that you don't need his clothes anymore"
"Why did I let you drag me into this?"
"Because deep down you want him to say something about it don't you?"
"Well yeah but-"
"Hey guys!" A familiar voice popped into the garage.
"Luke" I spoke pushing Alex away from me.
"Hey man what happened to practice?" Alex asked casually.
"Julie had some stuff to do after school so I went along. But she's on her way so we should get a few runs in-" His words slowly came to a halt sending me a strange look.
"Isn't that Reggies lucky flannel?"
"Uh yeah. He let me barrow it. For good luck. Here's your shirt back by the way. I don't think I'll need it anymore" I said trying to hand him back the shirt I was wearing previously.
"You know you don't have to give it back. It's yours" His lips simpered.
"I know but Reggie said if I needed to I could just barrow his"
"Oh" was all Luke before taking the shirt out of my hands.
Suddenly the garage door opened and in walked Julie.
"Hey guys" She smiled.
"Ready for tonight?"
"Definitely"
"Flynn's coming over before to help me get ready. Girl time?" Julie asked looking at me.
"I'll be there" I smiled.
"So are we ready to rehearse?"
"Where's Reggie?"
"He went out said he would be back in a bit"
As if on cue the other ghost popped in with a smile on his face.
"Luke" He said his eyes going wide.
"Your back"
"Yeah I am. Who are the flowers for?" Luke asked eyeing the bouquet of roses in his hand.
"They’re for y/n. You know she deserves the best" Reggie said nervously sticking his hand out for me.
"Thanks Reggie" I smiled lightly.
"She also deserves her favorite flowers. Sunflowers in case you were wondering"
"Luke" I scolded him taking the bouquet.
"I think it's a sweet gesture Reggie. Seriously thank you"
"Your welcome" He smiled pulling me into a light hug.
"I think we should rehearse before it gets any later" Alex suggested trying to ease the now very notable tension in the room.
"Sounds good" Julie said awkwardly stepping past Reggie and Luke who were standing a few feet apart. I looked at Alex who gave me a small nod.
"Uh Reggie can you come here for a sec I need your help" I said pulling him away to my guitar stand. I placed strap around my body waiting for the brunette to turn his attention to me.
"Uh sure. Cutie?" He spoke in a questionable tone before looking down at me.
"You need his help with guitar?" Luke asked clearly confused.
"Well yeah"
"But I always help you with guitar" "He offered earlier if I needed help to come to him"
"Yeah. I did that" Reggie said trying to act tough.
"Whatever" Luke scoffed.
I watched as he swung his guitar around his shoulder aggressively. I glanced at Julie who was sending me a confused look so I quickly shrugged my shoulder not knowing what else to do.
It was mere minutes before we were heading out to perform. The tension in the air was now overpowered by excitement.
"I'm so nervous" I said bouncing my leg up and down anxiously.
Suddenly I felt a hand land on it stopping my movements. I looked up to see Luke smiling down at me.
"Don't be nervous your gonna do amazing out there"
"Thanks" I smiled back.
"Yeah. Your always amazing. Did I mention you look beautiful tonight? Wearing my flannel. My lucky flannel" Reggie said with a pestering smile as he swung an arm around my shoulder.
"We get it. It's your flannel" Luke interrupted immediately removing his hand from my leg. I looked at Alex who was stifling a laugh.
"Uh thanks Reg. You look good too"
"Oh I know. And I'm gonna look better singing up there with you. It'll be like old times. You and me. And a microphone"
"You and me. And a microphone" Luke mimicked him. I almost laughed only to be startled by someone walking in.
"Hey guys are you ready?"
"Ready as we'll ever be" I spoke. Julie simply nodded her head walking out.
I stood up pacing around as I heard Julie begin the opening notes on the piano outside.
"Hey your gonna do great out there" Luke said stopping me from walking anymore.
"Thanks. You are too. You and Julie have great chemistry"
"Well yeah. But I think we have great chemistry too" He said taking my hands in his.
I finally looked into his eyes see him staring into mine in. A small smile forming on my face.
"Guys!" Alex called knocking us out of our trance. I panicked immediately flashing outside with Luke. Landing beside Reggie with my guitar at hand. Luke only a few feet away in his own place.
J- I believe
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of
Y/n- Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own
I joined in singing into Reggies microphone beaming with excitement. I scanned the crowd seeing smiles on people faces. This is all we ever wanted.
J- Cause we're standing on the edge of great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- 'Cause we're standing on the edge of great
L- We all make mistakes
But they're just stepping stones
To take us where we wanna go
It's never straight, no
Luke sang sending me a wink before continuing to sing with Julie.
L,J- Sometimes we gotta lean
Lean on someone else
To get a little help
I giggled as Reggie leaned on me. Back to back. Both of us playing our guitars to the same beat.
J- Until we find our way
I believe
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of
Y/n- Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own
J- Cause we're standing on the edge of great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- 'Cause we're standing on the edge of...
J- Shout, shout
C'mon and let it out, out
Don't gotta hide it
Let your colors blind their eyes
Be who you are no compromise
My heart rate picked up. The scene from earlier replaying in my head as Julie sang the next lines. Taking a chance I looked in Luke's direction to see him already looking at me with a grin on his face. I smirked walking over to the piano.
J- And Just shout, shout
C'mon and let it out, out
J, Y/n- What doesn't kill you makes you feel alive
Ooh-oh
J- I believe
Julie sang as Luke and I let off a similar guitar riff making me laugh.
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of great
Making my way over to Luke I let out a giggle as I pulled his beanie down slightly messing up his look. Before making my over back to Reggie. I looked back at the brunette to see him grinning from ear to ear.
All- Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own
Cause we're standing on the edge of great
(On the edge of great)
J- On the edge of great
All- (Great, on the edge of great) On the edge
All- (Great, on the edge of great)
J- 'Cause we're standing on the edge of...
L- Running from the past
Y/n- Tripping on the now
J- What is lost can be found
It's obvious
Luke, Julie, and I finished singing towards the audience.
Making eye contact with a few kids before flashing out myself back into the garage where Alex and Reggie were already waiting. Adrenaline coursing through our veins as another presence poofed into the room.
"That was amazing!" Luke shouted excitedly.
"I can't believe we just did that. Did you see how pumped they were?" I asked falling back onto the couch besides Reggie.
"Yeah. They loved us!" "Remind me to thank Julie for playing our CD later"
"Tonight it's her garage tomorrow it's- it's clubs, dances, and worldwide tours" Luke said eagerly. Taking the free spot to my left.
"God I wish we could feel like this all the time" I said leaning into Luke.
"Me too y/n/n" He said placing an arm around me. A sudden fake cough erupting from Alex's lips. I looked over to see him staring at me with a look.
"Oh uh- Reggie you were great out there" I complimented the boy sitting up.
"Thanks. You uh- you looked hot" He tried to sound cool but failed miserably.
"You think?"
"Oh yeah- I mean the sweat on your forehead and like the heat and-"
"What are you going on about?" Luke asked confusion plastering itself on his face.
"I think what he means is y/n is attractive. Right Reggie?" Alex asked.
"No, no don't answer for him. Reggie be straight with me do you like y/n or not?" Luke asked standing up.
"Why does it matter if I do or don't?" Reggie questioned standing up as well.
"Because you out of everyone know that I like her so why are you letting her wear your clothes, buying her flowers, and calling her hot. I thought I made it clear she was off limits" Luke said my mouth widening in shock.
"I'm off limits?" I asked looking at him.
"How many people did you make it clear to that I was off limits?" I asked not really wanting an answer I was expecting.
"A few"
"A few? Micheal Brookes?" I asked remembering a guy I began to talk to at the beginning of our senior year who randomly stopped talking to me one day. I watched as his head dipped in a short nod.
"Jacob Miller?" I continued watching his nod once again.
"Grant Dean?" Nod.
"Nick Harper?" Nod.
"Derek Johnson?" Nod.
"Seriously Luke? Your the reason I never had a boyfriend my senior year. To make it worse I died a virgin. You asshole" I shouted standing up. I was fuming at this point. He had no right. And he still did it. My head whipped towards the garage door heading it creak open.
"Hey guys" Julie and Flynn smiled walking it.
"You guys did great out there" Flynn said happily. Julie immediately noticing the tension in the room and the frown upon my lips.
"Are you okay y/n?"
"I don't know why don't you ask Luke?" I spoke before flashing out.
I landed in the only place I could think of. A single tear escaped my eye as I sat on the marquee of the Orpheum. Our dream. His dream. I stared out onto the lit up street of Sunset Boulevard. If he didn't want me seeing anyone he could've said something. For the longest time I wondered why guys were such assholes. It wasn't them. It was Luke. It was always Luke.
"I know your mad" I heard his voice speak from behind me.
"I think I'm beyond mad Luke. How could you?" I asked standing up and turning towards him.
"I came crying to you all those times wondering why guys didn't want me. And-and you made me think that it was all me when it was really you. Telling them to back off. Why? Why would you do this to me?"
"Because-" He was at a loss for words. Looking like a kicked puppy.
"I-I wanted you" He finally spoke up.
"You what?"
"I wanted you" He spoke more confidently.
"I wanted you to myself. I- I every time you came and told me you were talking to someone new it hurt because I know it should've been me who asked you out. Who got the courage to just tell you that I-" He went silent the anger in me evaporating in a matter of seconds.
"That you what?" I asked quietly.
"That I love you. I know I'm late but I can't hold it in anymore. After seeing you and Reggie today I got jealous just like I used to back in high school. I know this'll probably ruin our friendship but I don't want to lose you so I really need you to say something right now before I go insane not hearing your beautiful voice" He finished off finally looking at me. The look in his eyes was as hurt. And I wanted to be mad. But I couldn't be. Not when he just admitted what I had been wanting to hear for so long.
"Your 25 years late. But I think we have an eternity to make up for that" I said his eyebrows flying up in surprise.
"Really?"
"You really think I wanted to wear my own shirt today Patterson? Alex told me that if I kept wearing your clothes I'd only fall deeper in love you" I spoke a smile reaching both our face.
He quickly made his way towards me. Leaning forward until his lips attached themselves onto mine. I giggled as he lifted me in his arms holding me close. Our lips molding perfectly like they were made for each other.
"This isn't real" He whispered putting me down.
"Your mine. God your mine" He mumbled pressing open mouth kisses down my neck before connecting his lips back to mine.
"It's definitely real Lukey"
"I love it when you call me that" He mumbled into my lips.
"Don't get all soft on me now Patterson" I laughed pulling away.
"I'm sorry for what I did before I really am. For making you upset and I'm gonna spend an eternity making it up to you"
"It's okay Luke. It's in the past now. I just would've preferred if you would've not scared away every guy that tried to talk to me"
"I promise I'll never hurt you like that again" He said holding me close by the waist. As I began to suck on his neck to begin leaving a hickey.
"And I promise you won't be a virgin for much longer" He whispered reattaching our lips again.

Hiya. This is chapter 20, the finale to this series. After welcoming your miracle baby girl you have the family that you've always wanted.
Two gorgeous kids, a loving husband, what more could you ask for?
Will this be the happy ending you've always wanted or will fate deal you another cruel blow?
Warnings, angst, smut, squirting, female receiving oral sex, not for anyone under 18.

20+years earlier, Yavin 4
Even as teenagers you had always sensed that there was a deep bond between you and Poe.
It was a unique bond that transcended time. It felt almost mystical. Surreal in a truly beautiful way.
Your parents never tried to discourage your relationship because even they knew, and could see, the tender love that was shared between the two of you.
It was a love that truly only came around once in a lifetime.
Late one night you're tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep, when you hear a gentle knock at your bedroom window.
You immediately turn on your bedside lamp, and see the smiling face of your boyfriend.
You jump out of bed and open the window. You grab his arm and pull him inside your room.
"What are you doing here you dork? It's almost 4 in the morning". You tease with a slight laugh as you help him up.
"I sensed that you couldn't sleep, so I brought you these". Poe replied softly with a slight smile as he presented you with a small bouquet of freshly picked wildflowers.
"Oh Poe, that's so sweet". You tell him with a smile as you plant a soft kiss on his lips. "You're truly something else".
"Let's sneak out and go to our favorite spot". Poe whispered into you ear as he kissed your neck. "I want to cuddle you and look at the stars".
You quickly get dressed and the two of you quietly sneak out of your bedroom window.
Once at the spot overlooking the ancient temple the two of you relax on the damp, cool grass.
It seemed like there were a million stars in the sky that night.
You playfully climb on top of Poe and start to kiss him. The two of you roll around a little, making out and playfully wrestling.
Poe finally pinned you down, with a giggle you say,
"Oh no, looks like you win, what do you want the prize to be?"
"You". Poe replied quickly, smiling wickedly and passionately kissing you on the lips.
You unbutton your shirt a little, revealing your bare breasts. The tightness in a particular area of his pants betrays the fact that Poe is more than ready for you.
Poe kissed all the way down to your bellybutton, you removed the belt to your pants and he unzipped them for you, revealing your soaked panties.
With a quick kick your pants are off and on the ground. His head immediately went between your legs and he started to lick your clit through your underwear, making you close your eyes and cuss.
Poe slid three fingers inside of your tight hole as he nibbled on and sucked your swollen clit.
Your underwear quickly came off next.
It must have been a combination of the cool, damp grass against your bare skin and the intense pleasure he was treating your body to but you could feel your legs start to tremble and shake.
Your tightness gripped onto his fingers, gave them a squeeze and then gushed warm fluid all over him.
"Wow". Poe said softly as he gently removed his fingers from inside your body, softly stroking your clit and inner lips with his thumb. "That was really hot".
As your legs continued to tremble Poe began to lick your inner lips, teasing and pulling on them gently with his soft lips.
As you relaxed on the cool grass, nude and looking up at the millions of stars, Poe took his clothes off and climbed on top of you.
Because you were so wet his thick cock slid easily inside of your warmth.
"Poe". You whimper softly, closing your eyes and savoring the pleasurable sensation of your bodies connected together.
"I love you forever". Poe whispered into your ear as he leaned down and gave your neck a playful nibble.
Afterwards, just as he had promised, Poe cuddled with you under the stars.
As he's holding you tight in his strong arms you kiss him and ask,
"How did you know that I couldn't sleep?"
"I don't know". Poe replied with a laugh as he kissed you back. "That's what is so weird about it".
Present day
Whenever you're not doing well your mind wanders off and you recount the delightful memories with Poe.
You were able to return home with your baby girl two days later.
You're sore, and exhausted and weak, unbelievably weak. You can barely muster enough energy to even roll over on your back.
Poe was worried about you, this wasn't normal and he could sense it.
It was almost like you were slowly fading away, keeping your eyes open was a difficult task, it was like your body was finally giving up.
Poe had been taking care of his newborn daughter and now nearly 5 year old son by himself and he was at the end of his rope.
Your friend Esmaria came over to help.
"Poe, how is she doing?" She immediately asked.
"Not very well". Poe explained, with tears in his eyes as he snuggled his infant daughter. "She can barely move or keep her eyes open".
"I'm sure she'll be okay". Esmaria told him as she gave Poe a hug.
"I think we need to get her back to the doctor". Poe explained as he continued to snuggle little Kya, giving her a little kiss on the forehead. "But she's being hard headed and won't go".
"Ugh, typical y/n". Esmaria told him with a deep sigh as she shook her head a little. "I think she's just depressed after having the baby".
Poe pulled up a chair next to your bedside and held your hand in his. The look on his face was a mixture of heartache and worry.
"Are you feeling any better?" Poe asked, leaning down and kissing you softly on the forehead.
"Not really". You reply weakly, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" He asked again, tears streaming down his face. "Anything to make you more comfortable?"
"Poe, I think this is it". You tell him tearfully. "I think I'm dying".
"No, no, don't say that". He replied back quickly, shaking his head as he kissed your frail hand. "It can't be, it won't be, we can get you back to the doctor".
"I love you Poe". You tell him softly as you struggled to keep your eyes open. "I love our son and daughter too. Take care of them for me".
"Please don't leave us". Poe begged softly as he continued to hold your hand. "We were supposed to grow old together, remember?"
With a weak smile on your face you mouth I love you to your husband one last time as you close your eyes and drift away forever.
Ten years later
"What was mom like? Dad?"
"She looked a lot like you, I guess, with a different hair and eye color".
It was a full decade since you died. Poe was with your now 10 year old daughter in Yavin 4, who looked a lot like you only with her father's hair, skin and eye color.
Kya was 3 days old when you passed away. The older she got the more she would ask questions about her mother.
Poe told her what he could, but it was still extremely difficult to talk about you. He thought about you, his soulmate, constantly, and wondered what you would be like today.
Poe was in his mid 50's now, his once dark hair was mostly gray except for a few stray strands.
He had fully embraced the silver fox look and had aged gracefully. Poe was very distinguished looking.
He was still the leader of the black squadron.
Boe was a handsome, muscular 15 year old who was the direct image of his father. He was also into flying, adventure and getting into a little bit of trouble.
The girls loved him but he didn't have one steady girlfriend yet.
Kya was a beautiful, intelligent 10 year old whose interests included music and writing. She was a quiet introvert.
Esmaria, your best friend, had become Poe's second wife. She was an excellent stepmother and your children loved her.
Poe was visiting your grave with Kya. He was attempting to tell her all about you but it was still difficult for him.
He felt like half of his soul was gone. Poe loved Esmaria yes, but to him it was a different kind of love.
It lacked the passion, depth and intensity that the two of you had shared.
Kya went off by herself, leaving her father alone at your burial site.
"I miss you everyday". Poe confessed tearfully as he leaned down to clean off your headstone. "It still hurts like it was yesterday".
"Thank you for the beautiful kids, they're a pain in the ass sometimes but most of the time they're great". Poe continued, laughing a little. "Kya looks just like you, she's beautiful. Boe looks like me".
He left your family cemetery and headed to your favorite spot that overlooked the rainforest and temple.
Poe relaxed on the cool grass and with tears in his eyes imagined you next to him, cuddling him, kissing him.
When he opened his eyes you were right there, a figment of his imagination perhaps? But it looked so much like you.
Your image was solid, just like a real person. And your skin was soft and warm.
The memories came flooding back. The Summer days spent as teenagers, him consoling you after losing your parents, the day he found out that he was going to be a father.
You looked young, beautiful and healthy. Poe leaned over and kissed you tenderly, and with a huge smile on his face said,
"Y/n, things haven't been the same without you, I think about you every day".
"Poe, I didn't want to leave but I was sick and my body gave out". You explained, smiling a little. "I'm no longer in pain now".
"We were supposed to grow old together but I'm the only one that got old". Poe told you with a slight laugh.
"It isn't fair".
"I have to go now". You told him as you shared a final kiss. "But please tell Esmaria thank you for raising our children".
"I will". Poe told you with a weak smile as he stroked your soft cheek. "Goodbye".
With those final words you are gone again. The tears continued to stream down his face as he realized that you weren't coming back.
"Dad! There you are! We were looking all over for you".
The tranquil calm was interrupted by Boe and Kya, who had been looking for their father all afternoon.
Boe gave his father a huge bear hug, with a slight smile on his face Poe told them,
"I needed some alone time, I hope you kids didn't get into any trouble".
"Nah dad, I was just showing Ky around the temple". Boe replied quickly, smiling a little. "I think we're ready to go now".
Poe hugged his daughter tight, smiled and said,
"Your mother would be so proud of you two".

"Okay so here is the plan —"
"Question!"
"What is it Reki?" Miya asked having to pause his elaborate explanation when the red head raised his hand.
"Why are we caring so much about this?"
"What do you mean?" Miya tilted his head in confusion, as if the thought had never crossed his mind.
They currently sat in Reki’s room. Langa with his head hanging off of the edge of the bed and Reki sitting on his knees on the bed while Miya paced the floor back and forth easily.
"It just seems like we should stay out of their issues. They will figure it out eventually," Reki explained.
"Will they?" Miya asked the hypothetical question but didn't wait for an answer, "They have known eachother for over ten years. They are getting old. You two managed to figure out your feelings within a year. These three have known eachother for —"
"Don't forget Tadashi," Langa piped up.
"Who?"
"Snake."
"Oh... well he and Adam can figure their stuff out, I have full faith in them. It is when you put Cherry, Joe, and Adam together that they only have two brain cells split among the three of them," Miya explained, "They have known eachother for over ten years and they haven't figured themselves out yet!"
"It still isn't our business —"
"When it effects us it becomes our business."
"How has it effected us?" Reki asked with an eye roll.
Miya cleared his throat, "The incident after the tournament, the incident during the tournament, the way they hog the track at S, the way Joe nearly crashed into you when trying to show off, the way Cherry has been nagging us more often when Adam is around, they argue constantly but not actually argue. You know what I mean?"
"No," Langa muttered and sat up. Maybe the blood rushing to his head was keeping him from thinking.
"They are flirting," Miya explained.
The other two didn't seem convinced.
"Okay fine. What flower does Adam bring to his opponents?" Miya asked.
"Roses," Langa explained like he was stupid.
"What did he bring Joe when they had their last beef?"
"That doesn't mean anything —"
"Sunflowers!" Miya cut Reki off. "He brings Joe sunflowers and Cherry gets —"
"Lilac or Cherry Blossoms," Langa answered.
"Precisely!"
"So what is the plan?" Langa asked and ignored the way Reki groaned.
***
The plan was simple enough even if Langa wasn't sure if it made sense.
It started with a bouquet of flowers that Langa convinced Shadow was for Reki... considering Reki and Miya were standing right beside him it probably wasn't very convincing.
Regardless they got the bouquet. Light pink flowers: liles, carnations, bleeding hearts, and more mixed in with a few bright yellow roses. As far as flowers go it looked really good.
Phase two of the plan was easy and went off without a hitch. They simply requested that Langa have a beef with Adam tonight.
He agreed enthusiastically as always.
"They haven't had a beef since the tournament," Reki pointed out as they were making their way there.
"Well they will tonight," Miya decided.
It was true. The three hogged the track on regular nights but never had an official beef again. Now that word was out that Langa was having a beef against Adam there was sure to be a crowd... they just had to hope all three of the actual competitors showed up.
"Hello my little snow bunny. Isn't it always such an honour to share this stage together?" Adam asked as he presented Langa with red roses as always.
"Sure," Langa said as he carefully took them with a small "thanks". He always accepted the roses even if he never knew what to do with them. "Uh Miya?" He glanced over to his friend.
They noticed Adam looked confused but the confusion morphed into an unreadable expression when Miya took the flowers from Reki and presented them to Adam.
"My little snow bunny! I'm honored. Truly —"
"They aren't from me," Langa explained quickly (his wallet said otherwise).
"Well then who are they—" Langa made a slight nodding motion to Cherry and Joe who were watching from their place above the crowds in the rocks. Langa watched as Adam’s eyes, hidden by his mask, made their way over.
From this distance Adam wasn’t able to see how confused the two looked.
"Sorry little Langa. You are going to have to find another dancing partner for tonight," Adam said before leaving... he left. That wasn't supposed to happen.
"Did he just drop out?" Joe asked.
"Adam doesn't drop out of races —"
"That is what he just did Kaoru," Joe fired back. He expected a swift kick, but when he glanced over the pink haired male was staring down at the start point with calculating eyes.
"They did something," Cherry said after a moment before he began to slid down the rocks before Joe could respond, it forced Joe to follow after him.
Cherry got within grabbing distance of Reki first which meant grabbing him by his yellow hoodie.
"Hey Cherry!" Nervousness laced Reki’s voice. He had been about to take Adam’s place for the beef so people still had something to watch.
"Don't give me that, beef is canceled for tonight boys," Cherry stated. "Joe grab the other two," Cherry tacked on. He let go of Reki briefly before grabbing his arm and continuing along.
"There is no way he can get both of those two," Reki scoffed. Ear grabbing simply wasn’t Joe’s style.
Reki was very wrong though when he glanced over in an attempt to ignore his pain when he heard, "let go you old man!"
Joe had Miya and Langa over his shoulders.
"Hold onto your boards or else they are getting left behind," Joe hummed as he kicked his own board along.
They were set down once outside of the gate and a flurry of cusses was thrown at Joe by Miya.
"So what happened?" Cherry asked when Miya was done.
"What do you mean?" Langa asked dumbly. It was hard to know if he was playing along or if he actually just didn't know.
"With Adam," Cherry clarified and rolled his eyes.
"Oh," Langa hummed and didn't elaborate since he felt that Miya should be the one to take the fall on this one. Apparently Reki thought so too but Miya glared at them in return.
"Fine," Reki grumbled, rubbing his sore ear. "Miya had the wonderful idea to buy Adam flowers," he explained.
"Okay and what else is there?" Joe added and tilted his head. "He has always liked being given flowers so that can't possible be it —"
"You didn't say they were from you three did you?" Cherry asked. His calculating eyes seeing through them immediately.
"Wait did you guys say they were from us?" Joe asked when he realized what Cherry meant.
"Uh... nooooo?" Miya hummed with a grin.
Cherry and Joe shared a look that morphed between concern and frustration.
"What is the big deal? People cancel beefs or drop out at the line —"
"Not Adam," Cherry cut Miya off and rubbed his face.
When realizing they had caused him, not just him... both of them, stress they felt the guilt come over.
"Sorry," Langa piped up first and was followed by two other apologetic mutters.
"It's fine," Joe spoke up quickly which earned him a glare from Cherry.
"It most definitely isn't fine —"
"It is fine," Joe insisted and sighed softly. "Let’s go get him," he muttered.
"You two know where he is?" Reki asked but Cherry looked just as confused.
"Yeah I have a hunch," Joe hummed.
"Oh wonderful, a hunch," Cherry grumbled but followed after him anyway since he had a similar guess about where Adam was.
"You three don't pull a stunt like that again!" Joe called as they took off on their boards.
"Well wrong equation but maybe the right solution?" Miya suggested and was met with a wack on the head from Reki.
***
"Told you we would find him here," Joe mentioned as he kicked his board up.
"Shut it," Cherry grumbled as they made their way over to the railing where Adam was. The last time they had all been here together didn’t end well to say the least.
All three were still in their skating outfits and Adam had that bouquet of flowers clutched in a hand over the railing with a frown on his face. When he heard the other two he plastered on an easy smile and turned over to them.
"The boys told me you got me flowers, how kind. Although do wait until we have a beef to gift flowers," he hummed and offered them back.
"We didn't buy them," Cherry mentioned, "I wouldn't but you a bouquet like that anyway."
"Oh—"
"I would buy you a magnolia," Cherry stated quite simply.
"Oh," Adam’s frown turned into something unreadable before he smiled slightly. A little more genuine, "only one?"
"Only one," Cherry confirmed.
"Well then you let yourself get outclassed Cherry. We both know you would get a bouquet of them," Joe scoffed and leaned back against the railing. He considered it for a moment, "Sweet peas."
"What?" Cherry tilted his head. He didn't know much about flowers. Had no reason to get them aside from occasionally for his office.
"Just know that they are nicer then magnolias," Joe hummed with a grin.
"Whatever," Cherry scoffed.
They both looked back to Adam and Cherry reached over to gently take Adam's mask off his face.
"What are you —"
"You showed up to the after party with your mask on yet you said that we were special when we were younger. So what is it going to be Adam?" Cherry asked using only his fingers to hold the mask in place. When he was met with no resistance he carefully took it off.
"You two are special," Adam insisted.
The two seemed skeptical to say the least. The glanced back to one another in silent communication, but they weren't good at regular communication nevermind silent.
"Do you love us?" Joe asked. It had Cherry making noises similar to that of a dieing fish.
"Yes," Adam didn’t hesitate.
Cherry felt his face heat up and the other two though he was flustered for a second, but it wasn’t that... it wasn't embarrassment either. Then his lip quivered and his eyes glossed over.
"You can't say shit like that and also say how boring I am while giving me a concussion!" He snapped. Anger was easier then breaking down, but breaking down followed his anger anyway. When he pressed his palms against his eyes and his chest tightened, Joe was by his side in an instant and had his arms around him as if to shield him from anymore pain. It was like Joe thought that he could protect Cherry — it was as if Kojiro thought he could protect Kaoru from the entire world.
"I —" Adam bit his lower lip in nervousness and looked at his two former best friends — his two lovers — in a way that could only be described as fear, "I wish I could take it back. I wish I could take it all back."
"Ainosuke," Kojiro urged since he could see that the words were on the tip of his tongue. Just waiting to spill out.
"I'm sorry Kaoru," Ainosuke whispered. He reached a hesitant hand over to touch his shoulder but pulled back when Kaoru lunged forward and pressed their lips together. The mask dropping from Kaoru’s hand and onto the pavement in the process.
It wasn't a very long kiss and when Kaoru pulled away Ainosuke realized he was still crying. He had tears running down his cheeks. Before Ainosuke could reach a hand up to clean them away Kojiro did it for him. Gently reaching over Kaoru’s shoulder from behind him and cleaning away his tears without even needing to see where they were. He had the tracks Kaoru’s tears ran memorized.
"You two are so special to me, and if I have to spend the rest of my life proving it to you both then I will. You both are worth every moment of it. Please let me prove it to you?"
"Okay," Kaoru and Kojiro both agreed.
When they left two things stayed: the bouquet of flowers, and Adam’s mask. Propped up against the railing.
***
The problem with someone like Ainosuke trying to prove that Kaoru and Kojiro were special again was that the two were competitive. They couldn't simply allow themselves to be spoilt.
So when Adam showed up with bouquets for them, they both brought flowers for him. And Joe was right. Kaoru couldn't just bring one.
"Wrong equation right solution," Miya pointed out as the three founders of S stood at the starting line, offering eachother flowers.
"Oh shut up, now we have to deal with this," Reki grumbled, "this is arguably worse." Despite his words he did allow himself a small smile.
"Arguably," Langa pointed out, "Should I get you flowers before beefs?"
"No!" Reki shot right back as his face warmed.
There wasn't really a point to it anyway. The three couldn't actually skateboard with flowers in their hands anyway. Instead of giving them to fans (like Joe normally did) they were dumped on the three younger boys.
"They are special," Cherry informed.
"Besides this is your fault," Joe tacked on.
"So hold these for us until we are done, thanks my little snow bunny, you to kitten and birdie!" Adam hummed all happily.
"'Kitten'?"
"'Birdie'?"
"Good luck you three!" Langa called before the lights changed from red to green and the three took off.

Flower Power
Namjoon x Reader, GN!Reader: Flower Shop AU!
:: semi-fluff, passive aggressive flowers, Namjoon being concerned, but also finding this hilarious
:: Warnings: swearing, semi-fluffy
Flowers hold many meanings, the best ones are the passive aggressive ones.
Colorful Flowers Offer Interesting Stories.

Namjoon was minding his own business while on his shift at the flower shop. It was a small, local shop that he had applied to on a whim as he had been looking for new hobbies and needed the extra cash, he saw the listing online at Colorful Delight and figured he'd try for the job. Now, two years later he loved his job and had become the manager of the little shop.
Business was pretty slow that day, it was a weekday and most people were busy working at 1 pm, so you could imagine his surprise as he was clipping some stems and you practically ran into the shop, panting as if you had been chased by demons.
The surprise must have been very clear on his face as he filled a cup with water and handed it to you without a word. He went behind the counter as you not so gracefully gulped down the water. You coughed a bit before uttering a small thank you.
"No problem, anything I could help you with?" He said with a small smile, a patronizing smile that he was required to give to customers, yes he loved his job but even he had his days where he didn't feel like smiling or being over the top happy.
At that, you pulled a crisp $20 bill out of your pocket, slammed it on the counter and asked, "How do I passive-aggressively say fuck you in flower?"
It took everything in Namjoon's power to not laugh out loud as soon as you finished with your question, in all his days working at this shop he'd never heard someone flat out ask that. He was impressed honestly.
"Well for one, that has to be the best thing I've heard all day," your already flushed face got redder, "and I have just the things."
He went around the shop collecting various flowers in gorgeous shades, placing some back in favor of those that complimented each others respective colors. After roughly three minutes, he came back to the counter where you had been watching him do his thing. In that time, you had gotten a nice look at him. He was attractive, most likely around your age and was well kept, most likely worked out judging by his butt biceps.
When he returned and you realised you just openly checked out this dude that worked at the flower shop, you turned your head sharply to the counter and questioned your life choices. Said life choices had actually led to where you are right now, your friend had called you telling you how their boyfriend had been cheating on them. Obviously you were pissed, but today also happened to be their two year anniversary so you wanted to give them flowers.
The thing is, that was before you found out about the cheating and now here you are, saying "fuck you" in flower to your friends ex-boyfriend, because if they are breaking up now and will never get back together lest you be damned. Anyways, as Namjoon was packing the flowers together he decided to ask you the million dollar question and after explaining the situation, he was also pissed at the ex-boyfriend. What an asshole.
"Well these flowers definitely get that point across, while still looking gorgeous."
“Oh? Care to elaborate on that Mr. Flower Power?”
Chuckling at the nickname, he realizes he never gave his name nor asked for yours, he began explaining.
“The flowers I chose are: Geraniums, for stupidity, Foxglove, for insincerity, Meadowsweet, for uselessness, Yellow Carnations, which mean ‘you have disappointed me,’ and Orange Lilies, for hatred. They make a very striking and spiteful bouquet!”
While he was explaining the meanings of the flowers you took that time to get a good look at his face, barely paying attention to the flowers he pointed at as he told you the meanings.
“—n the card?”
“Wait what, sorry I zoned out a bit,” you sheepishly rubbed the back of your neck as he offered a small smirk, of course he realized you were checking him out. It was the first thing he did the minute you walked into the store.
He leaned forward a bit and leaned his face against his hand as he held a piece of paper in between the fingers on his other hand.
“I was asking what you would like on the card.”
“Uh yeah, do you have a pen I could uh borrow?”
He handed you a pen and when you took it your hand brushed his, causing you to retract your hand quickly as he placed the card down in front of you, you took notice of his slender fingers. Not gonna lie they looked really nice and would probably be nice doing— NO! Woah! You just met this guy! Quickly scribbling a note down on it, appropriately saying, “Here’s to you, Rat Ass.”
He took the paper back and put a string through the hole and tied it around the bouquet, a beautiful note for beautiful flowers. His fingers while he tied the string were quite nimble and you're having thoughts again, stop, you just met this poor guy.
"And all done! I hope he loves the flowers!"
"I'm sure he will, when I toss them at him."
He nodded with closed eyes, "as you should."
You left the store after paying the needed amount, you waved at him letting out a thank you and went back to your regular, daily activities. After delivering the flowers in the manner you had stated, you treated your friend to some fun activities throughout the month to help her get her mind off things. You went to the beach, the ice cream place, and were currently at your house doing some self-care.
During this, both of you had been catching up on life, and when you happened to mention the cute flower boy at the flower shop they immediately screamed and made you tell them everything. They found it hilarious and really sweet that you wanted to tell off their ex in a subtle way and would definitely be using that.
“You know (y/n), it seems he might be into you,” they smirked at your face got red under your aloe Vera mask.
“I don’t know, I like him, but I don’t really know him and he doesn’t really know me...”
“DUDE! Then get to know him! You’ll never know maybe you’re meant to be or something, go to the flower place and ask him if he wants to go get ice cream or something! It’s hot out, treat him!”
“But—”
“Nope! No discussion,” you were dragged out of bed and your face mask was taken off. Your things thrown at you: wallet, house keys, shoes, all the things you needed to go out. Along with a cute outfit.
“Okay this is a bit much and we’re supposed to be bonding!”
A pout rested on your face, as your friend ignored you and pat your face to get rid of the excess aloe and put a bit of makeup on you.
“There you look pretty as a peach and handsome as Adonis! If he doesn’t go out with you I’ll scream now get ready and go!”
With one final push you were in your room wondering what just happened, nonetheless you complied and when you finished left as your friend just waved and then stuffed their face with ice cream. Truly a role model.
Over the course of the month you had also been buying flowers for your friend, their favorite and some that had funny meanings. During which you had gotten to know Namjoon just the tiniest bit more, that one moment where you yelled about flowers was the only time you really were outspoken with him. Other than that, you didn’t really have the courage to speak up, he’s really cute and you didn’t want to embarrass yourself in front of him.
You’d made it to the store relatively quick, just a quick ride to the flower shop from your apprtment and once you got there you didn’t walk in immediately, you just stood out there fiddling with your phone until you made eye contact with him through the glass. Oh that was an awkward moment that you didn’t like.
Namjoon, a little startled at first, blushes and bit and runs to the door to let you in.
“hEy— uh, hey! (Y/n), what’s up? Need some more flowers?”
His voice crack had made you chuckle a little, him internally screaming.
“Oh uh, no! I actually came to see you!”
You brushed your hair back, pulling slightly, it was a nervous habit you’d gained. Namjoon, though, loved this little habit of yours and was getting redder by the second at the thought of you coming to the shop for him specifically. It made him feel warm inside.
“Really?”
You nodded, looking into his eyes, “yeah! Actually wanna go inside, wouldn’t want bugs to go inside the shop, I know how much you hate when that happens.”
If his heart hadn’t busted a fat nut, then it just did. You remembering a small detail that really wasn’t that important about him? That made him want to just kiss you right there, but he held back. He led you into the small shop by putting a hand on your lower back and leading you inside, him shutting the door tightly, no bugs inside his flower shop.
You would have found that amusing if you weren’t so distracted at his hand on your back. He resumed what he was doing before you got there, taking his hand away and this led to you already missing the warmth he provided.
“So, what brings you around? Need some more flowers to passive-aggressively say ‘Fuck You?’”
You scratched your neck, “not this time— but I’ll keep that in mind— actually I wanted to know if you’d maybe wanna go for ice cream?”
He nearly dropped his spray bottle, he was watering the plants when you had just arrived, and was stuttering to get out a reply.
“I– uh”
“Actually y’know what it’s fine! NEVERMIND forget I said anything!”
You had started rushing to get out of the shop, but Namjoon grabbed your wrist before you could leave.
“NO! No! I was just really surprised, I’d love to go get ice cream with you!”
With a flushed face, you turned to look at his face. His eyes shone with such excitement, his dimples prominently showing with his wide grin. He looked so beautiful.
“Really? You want to get ice cream with me, it’s fine if you don’t. I get it really, but it’s just so hot out and youre usually stuck in here and whenever I come to get flowers or visit you complain about wanting to go out so I wasn’t sur—”
He cut off your rambling with a hand over your mouth, “yes, (y/n), I would love to get an ice cream with you. Would you maybe consider it a date? Only if you want to.”
It was now your turn to be shocked, had you died?
“Hello?”
“YEAH— yeah! I would really like to go on a date with you!”
With the biggest grin on his face he quickly ran to the counter at the front of the store, and got a blue flower and handed it to you. You noticed it to be his favorite flower, he’d mentioned casually that he would give it to the person that he really liked and wanted to date.
“Wait, this is—”
“My favorite flower and the one I said I would give to the person I liked.”
You took it slowly, admiring the petals.
“I really, really like you, (y/n) and I would be honored if you would go on a date with me. I originally wanted to ask you out first, but you kind of beat me to it,” he added at the end with a slight chuckle as he scratched his neck.
“I really, really like you too Namjoon and I’d be honored to go out on this date with you.”
With that you both left the shop together, after Namjoon flipped the sign to ‘Closed’ and locked the doors. Hand in hand you went out to the ice cream shop by the park. You’d never guessed that you would be going on a date with the same guy who you’d yelled to help you with finding flowers for a passive-aggressive act, but as you sat with Namjoon eating your ice cream cones, you wouldn’t have wanted this moment any other way. You’d never underestimate the power of flowers for as long as you’d live.

Knee socks / Alex Turner
By the time you reached your university campus, night had fallen and it was nice feeling a gust of September wind against your face. It was cloudy outside, seemed like it was going to rain - too early for September.
You were steps away from your room when you felt your phone buzzing. You reached to your pocket and unlocked your phone to see a notification of a new message. It was from your roommate. "Don't wait for me. Might stay at Mike. 😉" was all she said. Of course, she'll stay at Mike. It's a fucking graduation. Years of attending university and now it's finally over. Worth celebrating.
Thinking about how she might be happy graduating and now celebrating it with Mike made you smile. Your roommate had a massive crush on that Mike guy, and he was in love with her too, but both of them were too shy or too proud to admit their feelings. Well, now was the perfect timing.
You changed into your comfortable pyjamas and grabbed your favourite cookies from the top shelf in the kitchen that you'd hid from your roommate, and returned to your bed ready to watch a movie on your laptop. You sat on your bed, trying to get into a comfortable position when you heard a slow knock on the door. You cursed whoever it was who forced you to leave your warm bed.
You crossed the room in a short time to open the door wide. Alex stood leaning against the wall, a cocky smile on his face.
"Alex?" Your eyes widened.
"There's my babeh-" He couldn't finish the sentence when you grasped the sleeve of his leather jacket, hauling him inside and shutting the door immediately.
"How have you gotten here?! If Mrs. Pine saw you..."
"...then I could explain teh her tha' my best girl finally graduated and I couldn't beh more fookin' proud of her." You were holding him by his collar when he leaned in smiling and started leaving little kisses along your jaw, making you smile.
"Alex..." you mewled and pulled him closer. He hummed, dipping his lips down to kiss your neck.
"My babeh girl." He whispered between kisses, one of his hands moved up your back. He held his other hand behind him, but you didn't notice that. He smirked into the kiss, biting your bottom lip lightly. "I'm so proud."
"These are for yeh, luv." His other hand with a bouquet of flowers started to peek out from his behind. You didn't understand what he was referring to when he'd broken the kiss until you noticed his hand.
"Are these for me?!" Your brain stuttered for a moment and your hand went over your mouth.
"Yeh.. Tha-tha's wha' I said." He playfully rolled his eyes.
You reached for the nice bouquet, bringing it to yourself and inhaling the fragrance of your favourite flowers. "Thank you, Alex. I'll put them in a vase." You said before closing your eyes and smelling the scent again.
He smiled softly to you, mouth fixed into a one-sided smile as you walked towards the kitchen. "Come 'ere."
You left the bouquet on the table as you ran up to him while his gaze never left you, that smug smile never leaving his features. He brushed your hair back as you wrapped your hands around his neck.
"Aren't you supposed to be in another country?" You whispered taking one strand of his perfectly combed hair and playing with it, you could smell his hair gel mixed with his cologne.
He stroked your hair and pulled you to him, his embrace was so warm, his big, strong arms seemed very protective when wrapped around your body. You looked up at him.
"Not when my girl has teh beh treated right. Such a beautiful girl... pretteh and smart." He praised you all the while the world around you melted away. Suddenly you wanted to save this moment forever, stay in his arms forever, safe from everyone else.
His eyes were all over you, the feel of your body so close to his soothed him more than he had expected.
"What?" You smiled when it seemed like he had wondered about something.
"I 'ave a surprise for yeh. Wait 'ere." He pulled back and went to the door.
You looked down at yourself to see if something was wrong, Alex looked confused while looking at you. But you were dressed, as usual, in your short black nightgown and - as strange as it sounded - matching black knee socks. Alex was used to seeing you like this though, nothing was unusual.
Alex went back, this time holding his guitar in his hands.
"You came here with your guitar." It sounded more like you were convincing yourself than was questioning him.
"'ere. Sit with meh. I wan' you teh hear somethin'." He moved to sit on the edge of your bed. You approached and sat beside him watching as he set his guitar ready. He looked at you as he started playing a melody you've never heard before.
"...and you were sitting in the corner with the coats all piled high...and I thought you might be mine. How's that?"
"That's actually pretty good. Sounds nice."
"And wha' 'bout this one.. when the zeros line up on the 24 hour clock...when you know who's calling even though the number is blocked.."
You were already humming the melody.
"...when you walked around your house wearing my sky blue Lacoste and your... knee socks."
You played the melody in your head and that was when it hit you. Your face flushed.
"Oh." You laughed, looking down and realising the reference. "Knee socks. Right. And your sky blue Lacoste. It's still in my closet..."
"I love you." You sighed leaning over as he put his guitar aside and let you straddle him.
"Yeh neve' returned my sky blue Lacoste." He whispered into your mouth, a whiff of his cigarette and mint hit your nostrils, making it all intoxicating.
"Do you really need your shirt right now?" You said right before he pulled you down and laid you on the bed, crawling above you, a little squeak leaving your mouth.
"I need yeh."

Idol BTS! Reaction To You Having A Terminal Illness
This was requested by @lustaeous I'm sorry for updating your requests so late but I promise there will be regular updates from now! Let's Get It!
Kim Seokjin:
You sat on a bench by the river, crying your heart out as your trembling hands held on to the medical report. Life is unfair and unpredictable. It is never long enough for those who need it. Just like you needed more time with Jin, the love of your life. So when you found out that you have only about 6 months to do whatever you want before your lungs give up, you left the new year celebrations going on at your house. You didn't want Jin to start his new year with such a terrible news. In fact, you weren't sure if you ever wanted him to know. It was too less. The time you had wasn't enough, it was never going to be. You still had to build your life and settle down, but then again, life is unfair. Tears falling from your eyes didn't stop, no matter how much you wiped them off and controlled yourself. Letting out a scream of frustration, you gave up and sobbed louder. Your sorrow consumed you so much that you didn't notice a car coming to a halt and Jin coming to stand behind you. Your cries broke his heart. He was furious at whatever reason you were crying. Seeing the paper in your hand, he squinted to try and figure out what it was. On seeing the name of a hospital, he snatched the paper from your hand. You flinched and turned around, eyes widening on seeing Jin. You watched his breath hitch and expression still. Slowly he looked at you with an unreadable expression. "Tell me this is a joke, Y/N." He whispered, voice cracking, knowing very well what the answer was. You couldn't help but break down into sobs again. "I'm sorry." You managed to say before turning around and covering your face with your hands. After what felt like a long time, you felt him sit beside you and soon the air was filled with the cries of you two. To any stranger, it was probably a weird sight, two people sitting beside each other and crying. Jin cried like there was no tomorrow because he promised himself that he wasn't gonna waste the time he had with you in crying and being sad. He was gonna make the most of it. So he pulled you towards him and wrapped his arms around you. Eventually your tears stopped and you felt almost.... peaceful. "I love you, Y/N. Today, tomorrow and forever. No matter what happens." He mumbled, his chin resting on your head, cheeks stained with tears. You smiled slightly, feeling grateful that you would at least die loved. "I love you too, Jin. And wherever I go, I'll always do." You whispered, feeling him kiss your head.
Kim Namjoon:
Namjoon's voice blared through the speakers as he bobbed his head, trying to decide whether it was good enough. He had to make sure it was perfect. He always wanted to write a song for you, he just kept pushing around because you had forever, right? Wrong. The day he had got that call from your doctor regarding the heartbreaking news, he was completely shattered. The one person he cherished the most was going to leave him and he wasn't ready. He could never be ready. So a promise was made to love you as long as he could. And here he was, sighing in relief when he thought the song was good enough. "I'm home!" Your voice rung through the house, making Namjoon rush out of his studio room. You hung your coat on the rack when you felt two arms engulfing you from behind. You squealed when your boyfriend spun around with your feet off the ground. Giggles filled the room when he set you down and you turned to give him a hug. "I missed you." You heard him whisper, your heart aching slightly about how these words were gonna become a part of his life soon. "Come on, I need to show you something!" He grabbed your hand and pulled you towards his studio, like a kid telling his mom about a toy he wanted. Soon you found yourself sitting in his chair with headphones on, looking at him in confusion. He smiled and clicked play on the audio file. Your eyes slowly widening when you realized this is a new track. And when the lyrics hit you, your eyes teared up. At that moment, the pain of having to leave him became unbearable and you wailed just as the song ended. Taking off your headphones, Namjoon quickly took you in his arms. "I don't want to go, Joon. Please don't let me!" You cried, holding onto the sleeves of his shirt. He hushed you while trying not to cry either, he had to be strong for you. After some time, you had finally stopped, sniffling a little. It was inevitable. You had to go someday but it wasn't now. For now, it was just you and your love, holding each other tight. "I will never ever let you go, Y/N." He mumbled, sounding sure even if it wasn't true. Because, for now, you loved him and he loved you. And nothing was gonna change that.
Min Yoongi:
You wiped the tears away when you heard the doorbell ring. It had to be your boyfriend, Yoongi. Trying to fake a smile, you opened the door to see him with a bouquet of your favourite flowers and takeout from your favourite restaurant. Handing you the bouquet, he kissed your cheek. "Happy Anniversary, my love." He grinned before kissing your lips. You giggled and pulled him inside the house. It had been 5 years since you started dating him. Unfortunately, this anniversary was gonna be the last one and there was nothing you could do about it. You planned on telling him everything tonight because he deserved to know. Taking in a deep breath, you turned around to face him. A gasp left your mouth when you saw him kneeling down, a blue box showcasing a gorgeous ring sitting on his hand. "I was supposed to do this after dinner but I can't wait anymore." He smiled sheepishly. Your breathing started getting heavier and tears stung your eyes. You tried to interrupt him but he told you to let him finish the speech he prepared. "Y/N Y/L/N, five years ago, I met you when you accidentally poured your drink on my head because you thought I was your ex. I was mad, trust me, but after looking at your beautiful face I forgave you before you even apologized. Everyday with you has been memorable and I want to continue making these memories with you. There is no one in this world who knows Min Yoongi like you do. So please, marry me and let me love you until I can. Stand by my side as my wife, until life gets jealous of what we have and takes you away from me." He whispered the last line, audible enough for you to hear. At this point, there were tears down his face too. "What?" You mumbled, confused and surprised about what he had just said. He took in a shaky breath and stood up. "I knew your reports were coming out today. The doctor couldn't reach you so he called me first and emailed me the report incase you didn't make it to your appointment." He explained, all the while looking into your eyes. You bit your bottom lip, trying to hold back an ugly sob. "I know, Y/N. I know everything." He shut his eyes and confessed, making it hard for you to control yourself anymore. You covered your face and fell onto your knees, crying uncontrollably. You felt Yoongi's arms around you, his body shaking just like yours, his tears falling just like yours. "I don't want to die so soon, Yoongi." You cried, holding his shirt and burying your face in his neck. He didn't say anything, he just held you until you couldn't cry anymore. "Yes." You whispered, both of your sniffles still echoing through the room. You raised your head to look at his confused face. "Yes, I will marry you. If I am going to die then might as well do it right." You shrugged, making him smile widely. He grabbed the ring and slid it onto your finger. "Till death do us 'part." He mumbled, his forehead leaning against yours. You smiled slightly. "Till death do us 'part."
Jung Hoseok:
You sat patiently on the bed, awaiting hoseok's reaction. His hair was damp from the shower he had just taken and his eyes locked on the floor. Your heart was beating so fast and loud that you were sure Hoseok could hear it. You had just told him that you had leukaemia and you didn't have too long to live. It had to be done, if he wanted to leave you then you were more than happy about it. You didn't want him to see you take your last breath. "Okay... that's okay. I-we'll figure something out. You'll be fine, alright? Ju-just trust me." He said, lips quivering and eyes glossy. Quickly kissing your forehead, he rushed out of the bedroom. You called out to him but he wasn't listening. Reaching the living room, he tossed the pillows on the couch while muttering where his phone was. "Hoseok, listen-" you said, grabbing his hand and turning him around to face you. He finally looked at you, a tear slipping down his cheek. His eyes showed relief when he saw the coffee table behind you, where his phone lay. Getting out of your hold, he took his phone and wiped the tear. "I'll find a doctor who can help us. If needs be, I'll take you somewhere they can completely take care of you and then you'll be fine. Everything will be okay, I know it." He went on rambling. He was a mess and it was because of you. You started crying, seeing him try to be so hopeful. "Hoseok!" You yelled at him. He stopped whatever he was doing and turned to you. You took the phone from his hand and threw it on the couch. "Stop it! I can't be cured anymore. It's over, my life's over. And there's nobody in this entire world who can help me. You have to accept this, please." You said, moving closer to him. He immediately shook his head and moved back. "What do you mean I have to accept this? I don't have to accept- no I can't accept this. We are talking about you leaving me alone forever! How do you expect me to not do anything? I love you so much, Y/N. And I need you to be here with me. I can't live without you." He cried, falling to his knees, tugging on his hair. You placed a hand on your mouth to hold back a sob. Slowly, you took cautious steps towards him and wrapped your arms around his trembling form. "It may seem like you can't live without me but you will have to, Hoseok. You have to live for your family, your members, your fans and if not for yourself then for me." You mumbled, kissing his head. He slowly wrapped his arms around your waist and raised his hand. "So you'll be a real angel now, huh?" He asked through tears, smiling slightly. You let out a chuckle and nodded. "Watch over me, okay?" He frowned, pouting slightly. You wiped his tears and pecked his lips. "Always."
Park Jimin:
You rubbed your eyes as you continued writing the letter, pouring your heart out. Sleep tried to consume you but you didn't give in. You had to complete writing these letters to your loved ones. You wanted to get over with it and start living life for the remaining time you had. You let out a deep breath and clapped your hands. Just one more person left. Jimin was coming home from tour that night and you had completely forgotten about it. Not being able to stay awake anymore, you ended falling asleep on the dining table with the pen in your hand and your letters scattered across the wood. Jimin unlocked the door with the key he had and stepped inside, dragging his suitcase behind him. Without taking off his shoes, he made his way to the bedroom to see you, even though he knew you would scold him later for dirtying the whole house. He stopped in his tracks when he saw your figure hunched over the dining table. Moving closer, he smiled to see you sleeping there. He took the pen from your hand and carefully lifted you up, standing still when he heard you mumble something, trying not to wake you up. When you snuggled into him further, he made his way to the bedroom, laying you down and covering you with the blanket before placing a kiss on your forehead. When he went to grab his luggage, he remembered seeing the sheets of paper on the dining table so he changed his mind. He took a seat before reading what was written on one of the papers, not expecting what was to come. You woke up feeling the light streaming in through the curtains. Instantly you sat up, weren't you writing something last night? Why were you here? Cursing under your breath you ran downstairs only to find Jimin sitting on the couch, with his head in his hands and your letters sprawled out infront of him. Your heartbeat quickened and your throat ran dry. You were going to tell him but you didn't expect it so soon. "J-jimin." You called out making him turn to face you. Your heart broke on seeing his red eyes and tired state. "Is this true, Y/N?" He asked, pointing to the papers. You bit your bottom lip and nodded. He shut his eyes and clenched his jaw before calling you to him. He took a hold of your waist and made you sit on his lap, burying his face in your neck. "This isn't fair. We still have so much to do. I can't live without you. You know I can't." He whispered, voice breaking. You rubbed his back, soothing him. "It might seem hard for now but it will happen, Jimin. You'll learn to live without me. You know it would hurt me to see you stop your life for me, right? So promise me you'll go on." You said, pulling away from him to see his face. He seemed to be lost in thought for a minute before slowly nodding his head and breaking down into sobs. "I promise." He managed to say. You smiled and kissed his cheeks, holding him close as long as you could.
Kim Taehyung:
You smiled as you lay your head on your boyfriend's shoulder, letting the summer breeze fan your face. The sound of the waves crashing the shore gave you a sense of security. It felt like there was nothing that could go wrong in this moment. "Y/N, you said you had something important to tell me. I'm curious now. Will you please tell me?" Taehyung requested, stroking your shoulder with his long fingers. You sighed and shut your eyes. You had to tell him, that's for sure. But was it the right time? But then again, you didn't want to feel this way anymore, this feeling of dread kept consuming you and you hated it. "Tae, I want you to promise me that you'll complete our bucket list, no matter what happens." You said, looking up at him. He frowned and tilted his head. "Baby, we're going to do it together. It's 'our' bucket list, like you said." He replied, smiling warmly at you. You felt your throat tighten at how blissful he was. You didn't want to ruin this. "That's the thing, Tae. I don't think I'm going to be with you until we complete it." You mumbled, shifting your gaze to the sand. He lifted your chin with his fingers. You forced your eyes to look at his. "Why would you say that?" He asked, his expression full of hurt. You felt tears brimming your eyes. It was now or never. "I have sarcoma." You confessed, the words leaving a bitter taste. You saw him shut his eyes as if he knew this was coming. "So it's true then. I was really hoping this was a joke." He whispered, audible enough for you to hear. You frowned. He knew about it? Opening his eyes, he leaned his forehead on yours. "Jimin isn't very good at hiding things, you know." He said, narrowing his eyes but you could make out how hard he was trying not to cry. You sighed and shook your head. It wasn't like you had told him, he found out due to your carelessness. Taehyung caressed your cheek while staring into your eyes. "And you're not going anywhere. I looked up everything about it and even talked to a couple specialists, just in case. So let me tell you that there are more chances of you surviving than dying." He explained. Your eyes lit up with hope. "Really?" You asked, feeling a little positive about the situation. He nodded and smiled. "Princess, no-one can mess up what we have. I won't let that happen." He said, pulling you into a hug. You let a couple tears fall as Taehyung kissed your forehead. "Even if I don't make it, I wouldn't have any regrets about this life. Because you were a part of it." You smiled, listening to his heartbeat with your head on his chest. "Well, fortunately you are going to make it. You are my life and I wouldn't have it any other way." You raised your head to admire him, pressing a kiss on his lips immediately.
Jeon Jungkook:
As soon as the harsh reality left the doctor's mouth, Jungkook felt his world crumbling down. He never expected something like this to happen when your relationship was so perfect, almost like something out of a fairytale. "It would be a miracle if she happens to survive an entire year." The doctor stated, his eyes holding guilt showing another battle he couldn't help win. Slowly standing up, Jungkook walked out of the doctor's cabin and made his way to where you were admitted. Upon reaching your room, he stood beside the door and shut his eyes. The image of you fainting in front of his eyes while he sang on stage was vivid. He wanted to run to you and take care of you but when he saw some of the crew who knew you, take you backstage, he forced himself to stay calm and finish up the concert. This had to be the 4th time you had fainted in a span of three weeks. He should have taken you to the doctor when he noticed changes in your appearance. Jungkook covered his face with his hands and let the tears fall. Why did this have to happen? How was he gonna live without you? These were questions that were never gonna be answered. Quickly wiping his tears, he pushed open the door to reveal your form, lying on the bed with your face turned away from him. "Y/N, how do you feel?" He forced himself to smile and took a seat beside the bed. Judging from your expression, it was clear that you knew. "Let's break up, Jungkook." The words fell from your lips as if they meant nothing, but it was killing you on the inside. Jungkook's heart hammered in his chest as his breath hitched. Why would you say that? As if knowing what he was thinking, you answered his unasked question. "Can't you see how I am? Useless with a little time to spare. There's nothing I can give you any more. So do yourself a favour and leave. Go and find someone who isn't as pathetic to look at as me. Moreover, find someone who is going to live up to all the promises because clearly, I can't." You said, tears staining your cheeks as you turned your gaze away from him. For a couple of minutes, it was quiet. You thought he was considering your words, making you feel happy for him. "I will never leave you, no matter what you say. You, Y/N Y/L/N, are the most magnificent being I've ever met. And I will forever love you even though we have limited time. So don't you dare tell me to find someone else. Because I need you, I always have and I always will. There's no one in this world who can take your place." He replied, holding your hand while you still refused to meet his eyes. You closed your eyes when you felt his fingers grazing your chin and turning your face in his direction. "Oh baby, you have never known how much I really love you. We are going to get through this together. Let me be here for you, Y/N, please." You heard his voice cracking, making you open your eyes. All your efforts to try and not cry were wasted. You ended up throwing your arms around your boyfriend and telling him how much you loved him too. You could continue worrying about your existence another time because right now you felt safe. And Jungkook felt loved, this was what mattered for now.
