can you think of any heterosexual explanation for “when you were singing that song, you were singing it to finn and only finn, right?”?

So I'm pretty sure I've made the joke of no heterosexual explanation myself before but actually I can think of one. I'm not saying it's good but it is realistically what I think the writers were going for. It misfired, obviously, but what I think they meant was:

"You really love Finn that much, huh? You love performing and we had the whole club and your dads were there but only he mattered. I guess you do love him so fine, I'm going to the wedding."

Read that from Quinn's POV. Since the whole push and pull is about Quinn opposing the Finchel wedding and, I'm guessing what this line was meant to be about is Quinn bowing before the power of love and the purity of Rachel's feelings for him. Or something.

That said, that's super not what anyone thinks when they watch On My Way. At least, I've yet to meet someone who seriously considers the heterosexual (i.e. actual intended) reasoning. And though I do believe what I wrote above is what it was supposed to be, it's just... gay. Super gay. Super duper Faberry fruity. The author is dead and whatever Dianna Agron had going on when she interpreted scripts killed them. Despite the speculated intention, how the scene reads is Quinn hoping against reason that Rachel isn't singularly focused on Finn, that she can still stop the wedding somehow. With all the Faberry fruitiness going on in these episodes and with Quinn being so vehemently against wedding it really reads like she's heartbroken when Rachel says yes. Yes to only singing to Finn. Because how it reads isn't "you really love Finn, huh" but "you sure you don't love someone else also maybe even me uwu please say you love me". Incredible. And not even my personal fav Faberry line! Maybe top 3 though. I love how iconic this line has become and took on a life of its own.

In any case, I guess Quinn managed to stop the wedding after all, so, a win for the girlbosses? Diversity win, straight wedding stopped by lesbian's car crash.

FOR REAL thank you Austen, I salvage my sanity by coming on here to whine and moan to my fellow Glumblr bloggers who Get It tbh. Unfortunately I think some people misuse the term to mean anything that's not explicitly canon; Tumblr user sopheadraws informed me that, apparently, over on Glee Instagram, they use the term "crackship" to mean any non-canon ship (which isn't right, but I understand how the term's meaning is gonna fluctuate as it disseminates through different sites - language be like that).

Also the person I vagueposted about didn't even know Rachel x Quinn was a ship that existed in the fandom lol 😭?? I mean no hate, I was just surprised? Granted, I was around during Ye Olde Glee Days when Faberry was winning first place on official Glee ship contests and whatnot, so idk what it's like for Renaissance Gleeks.

What would you do if you’re a Showrunner/writer on glee?

I don't think i have the abilities and qualifications to write a tv show, but i notice when the writers are becoming lazy and when there are flaws in the writing bc these flaws arrive at the spectator who watches the show. One the first things i would do is make faberry canon like it was intended in the first script of glee (there was a script before the pilot in which the popular cheerleader fell in love with the girl loser of the school, but the idea/project was abandoned). I would give more space to wlw pairings bc while the mlm rep in glee was diverse and deepened, the wlw rep was okay thanks to brittana but had too little screen time. So i would make two wlw pairing (faberry and brittana) have more development and space in the show. I would defo treat quinn's character arc way better than ryan murphy, i wouldn't have throwed that character in the trash after s3, i would have developed her personal story more and her relationship with rachel. Quinn is a very queer coded character, so i would have prob given more space to her journey of coming to terms with her sexuality (prob would have made her a lesbian who struggled a lot with comphet in highschool bc of her rigid catholic upbringing). I also would not make quinn end up with her r@pist (puck got her drunk to have sex with her even though she didn't want to, the consent was basically nonexistent and pretty dubious so that's why i consider him a rapist).

Another change i would make is give more performances to characters like santana and mercedes bc as much as i love rachel, i feel like amber's and naya's talent were underused. I would have given less solos to kurt and more to them.

I would also make rachel bisexual cos there's no way that girloser does not like women, and what i would do is make her "experiment"/have a sort of friendship with benefits with Santana in s4 cos before they broke apart they were pretty close and had a nice intimacy and chemistry, Santana had broken up with Brittany, so i think a thing between them in which rachel full blown realises she likes girls too (and later realises she had always been in love with quinn/had a crush on quinn since highschool) and Santana trying out different bonds with girls before understanding she wants brittany only, would have been nice to make both characters grow and mature.

I would keep the quinntana one night stand bc i feel like that was really important for quinn to finally accept she liked girls and therefore that rachel had always been the one she really wanted. But how would that work if you plan to make Santana bang both rachel and quinn ? Well i would simply make rachel a thing with santana at the end of s4, after santana and quinn's one night stand (it doesn't even have to be necessarly sex or a physical relationship, but a bond in which rachel starts to see santana in a different light and finds her really hot and starts questioning herself and santan teases her about it but also gives her a wake up call "you're bi gayberry" or something like that, these are the two options).

I would keep kurt and blaine as they are but i wouldn't have made blaine have a thing with karosfky, that was just foul.

Also less performances from mr. Schue bc what the fuck was blurred lines.

and listen. i love coffee shop AUs and friends to lovers and soft wholesome smut as much as the next person, but i deeply love anybody who is out here doing weird shit with their fanfiction. it's brave and interesting and even when it is not necessarily to my taste they have my respect for doing it.

My first thought is to go down the comedic Fapezberry route where Santana gives the exact same advice to Quinn that Rachel would or vice versa but they don't listen to her. my main ship for quinn is rachel i just really like their dynamic and history and i really wish the creators made them canon. i do enjoy some quinntana and fabrevans just for funsies as well. other than that i don’t really have any romantic ships for quinn. i think her canon relationships with finn and puck served their purposes in her life but i prefer them as friends with some awkward history

my non-romantic otp for this character

quinncedes my beloved, their friendship is so sweet to me and i find them so endearing. i also love the unholy trinity’s friendship they’re very awful to each other but very fun

my unpopular opinion about this character

i don’t know if this is unpopular per se but i think quinn was in the right for trying to get her baby away from shelby. she obviously had ulterior motives but shelby was real fucked up and her relationship with puck was terrible and shouldn’t have happen ever even remotely in the first place

one thing i wish would happened/had happened with this character in canon

obviously for faberry to happen but more specifically i wish we got to see more of her friendship with rachel after graduation; i feel like the writers always ignored a lot of the supposed closeness the nds had in favor of drama (or yknow just rachel’s life or whatever) but the bonds between all of them would’ve been nice to see

my unpopular opinion about this character

that he’s not heartless skank trash and actually a person who’s yeah pretty shitty at times but everyone in this show is pretty shitty at times and that doesn’t make them evil. it’s really easy to villainize sebastian and i get it, honestly i’ve villainized the shit out of some of the other characters before in my head, but at the end of the day he’s some petty competitive guy who wanted to fuck his crush and had the bigotry of most teenage boys at any point of the history of society. he’s neither a perfect angel of a character nor the devil and he’s got potential to grow like any of us. i don’t really fault anyone for being pissed it just kinda makes me sad because he’s my fav, but whatever yknow

one thing i wish would happened/had happened with this character in canon

pretty obvious that i wish seblaine got together but beyond that i wish they became friends again at any point in the show. i know because of the timing between flash and later seasons of the show + the overwhelming love of klaine, seblaine both platonically and/or romantically didn’t really stand a chance but i feel like they could’ve at least hinted at a reunion between the two.
