English Bluebells
Hyacinthoides Non-scripta
Hushed springtime breezes awaken these fairy flowers amid the dappled shade appearing underfoot deciduous groves. Be careful though not to disturb these blooms or, as folklore tells, the fairies resting within them will grow angry and lead the violator astray to become forever lost in the woods.

Sharp-lobed Hepatica
Hepatica acutiloba
These gorgeous spring ephemerals are usually found in woods with rich, somewhat alkaline, well drained-soils across eastern North America. Their flowers can vary in color and petal count. The hepatica plants pictured were growing on wooded hillsides featuring dolomite rock outcrops.
