Muichiro was leaning against a tree, waiting, when his eyes latched onto the approaching figure. Right on time, he thought. A playful smirk played on his lips as he started to greet you: "Well, well, look who it is. Are you here to grace me with your presence today?"

You matched his playful tone, smirking in response. "Oh, I see someone's in a confident mood today. Should I be flattered?"

Raising an eyebrow, Muichiro remarked, "Flattery doesn't suit you, but I must admit, you do have a certain charm about you."

You took a step closer, your voice dripping with teasing allure. "Is that so? Maybe I should use my charm to distract you in our training session."

Muichiro's smirk grew wider. "Oh, is that your strategy now? Trying to throw me off balance?"

Undeterred, you leaned in, your voice low and seductive. "Well, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't use every advantage I have, would it?"

Closing the distance, Muichiro leaned in, their faces mere inches apart. "Advantage or not, I have a feeling you'll be the one getting distracted."

You met his challenge with a playful glint in your eyes. "We'll see about that, Tokito. I can be quite focused when I want to be."

Muichiro's laughed, eyes sparkling. "I look forward to finding out, my dear."

Blinding lights of sunlight dance across the vail of darkness, his right hand twitch, the left laid carefully over his chest. Everything felt so cold, but blanketed over a certain warmth that he long since forgotten. Brows knit tightly together as Yuichiro began to stir with a audible groan. Long lashes slowly flutter open, he sits up his gaze a haze for a few more moments to then widen as adrenaline shot him to his feet. His feet sliding into position as he draws in a deep breath, eyes dart about trying to spot the….

The…. What.. what was he doing?

“……wha….?” His eyes blinking, a wave of confusion wash over him. A permanent deep set feeling of unease, of something being wrong, being off.. but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t think of a reason why. Or why he felt so on edge, but something was wrong. Something horrible was wrong—- move. He needed to move. One foot began to step forward, only for the ground to not be there. And he falls with a loud yell of distress, followed by a loud crashing splash as the child falls breaks the streams surface to then swallow him.

A rush of bubbles escapes Yuichiros open mouth from beneath, raven locks heavy with water flew out first as he pushed himself up. Coughing, gagging, spitting up the water that got into his mouth as he shifted and sat backward onto the streams shallow end.

“Wh-what… The… F-fuck?!” Each word sputters out between a few hard coughs.

“Y/n! Be careful!” Tanjiro who had been below you was holding onto the wobbling ladder you were standing on. He had helped you already hang up banners in half the estate. Now there was only the other half to go. And despite you being the one on the top of the latter, Tanjiro seemed to be way more anxious at you being up there.

Your body stretched forward in an attempt to hook up the end of the lavender banner to the other side of the wall. Without realizing, you began to wobble in the slightest, stressing out Tanjiro in fear of you falling.

“Dear, be careful!” You quickly paused your actions. Thankfully, you had already hooked up the end of the banner. You felt your face get hot as you looked down at Tanjiro, checking to see if he had coincidentally called someone else dear. But he had been staring right at you. 

At first, he seemed confused on why you became to flustered out of no where. Until he realized what he said. His own face turned a dark red as he tried to explain himself. But he only became a stuttering mess.

Your back had been facing zenitsu as you were trying to finally get some sleep. That was until zenitsu snapped you out of your thoughts by poking your back repeatedly. With a small sigh you turned the other way to face Zenitsu.

As every other time you saw him, he had tears in his eyes. “What happened, Zenitsu?” You asked, your eyes half lidded as you just wanted sleep. It took everything in you to not pass out in the middle of your conversation with him.

That conversation had mostly just been him talking to you. But you couldn’t pay attention to a single thing you said. “Love? Are you okay?” Your eyes suddenly widened as you felt yourself blush.

Being out of the corps uniform felt comforting in a way. Despite still having to bring your katana just in case, it felt nice to feel like a normal person your age.

You walked outside, seeing only inosuke outside, dressed up and out of the usual pants he would wear. But the boar mask remained. You stood beside the boy, waiting for the other two to come. 

“You look pretty..” You heard a Mutter from inosuke, making you shocked. You turned over to the boy with a questioning look on your face.

“Did you-“

“No!” He yelled quickly, crossing his arms. A small blush dusted your cheeks as you moved your arms over to his boar mask to take it off. The moment you did, you noticed his red face making yourself turn red as well.

Taisho Secret!: When Inosuke told you that you looked pretty, Tanjiro heard and brought it up to you during the festival making your face turn pink. Inosuke saw and felt a little jealous but he’ll never admit that.

♡Poor Muichiro has horrible memory and everyone knows that. In some cases, having horrible memory can be a good thing, and in other cases, it’s really bad. For obvious reasons, it’s mostly bad.

♡But when this happened, Muichiro had a win win situation. Muichiro cares deeply about you and out of all the Hashira’s, he only ever hangs out with you. For that reason your company means a lot to him, even if neither of you knew it.

♡Mitsuri and Tengen had also both informed Muichiro about his feelings for you. So when he found out he was in love with you, he sort of forgot that he wasn’t dating you. More so with the way you’re both always clingy to each other.

It was something he always did. It took a while of getting used to it as your face would always flush at first. Now it had been comforting.

“Love, what are you doing tomorrow?” Muichiro asked, gazing up at the sky as his head was still placed on your shoulder.

“I-“ Right when you about to answer, you paused. Your face slowly began turning a light shade of red as you stiffened. Muichiro felt it, soon after bringing his head off your shoulder. He gave you a small head tilt, amused at your reaction.

“Mui..?” You asked, waiting to see if he even realized what he said. With the amused expression, you were sure he did. “You called me-“

“Are we not dating?” His amused expression faltered as he gave you a more genuinely confused one. You blushed more, not sure at what to say.

Taisho Secret!: Since Muichiro never got a direct answer from you, he spent and entire month thinking the two of you were dating and so Mitsuri had to later explain he hadn’t asked you out yet. Maybe that’s why you got so embarrassed when Muichiro told Zenitsu the two of you were dating.

The Demon Slayer Corps headquarters was bustling with activity as the Hashiras gathered for their weekly meeting. As usual, you found yourself standing next to Muichiro, exchanging playful banter.

"You know, Muichiro, you might be a Hashira, but I bet I could outrun you in a race," you said, a mischievous glint in your eyes.

Muichiro raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a faint smile. "Is that so?" he replied, shifting his eyes to yours in a deadlock.

You grinned, not backing down from the challenge. "Absolutely. I've seen you in action, and while you're incredibly fast with your Breath of Mist, I think I have a chance," you said, emphasizing the last part with a playful poke to his chest.

"Well, we'll see about that," Muichiro said in a whisper, leaning close to you, his face mere inches from yours.

Your heart raced, and you swallowed nervously, the close proximity to Muichiro making your breath catch in your throat. The playful atmosphere had shifted into something charged with unspoken emotions.

As you and Muichiro continued to gaze at each other, the other Hashiras had taken notice. They watched the exchange unfold with wide eyes, their curiosity piqued by the unexpected intimacy between you two.

"Muichiro is getting bold," Giyuu muttered to Sanemi, who only shrugged in response.

"It seems they have quite the connection," Shinobu whispered to Mitsuri, who nodded excitedly in agreement.

The air around you crackled with anticipation, and though your teasing words had sparked this moment, you found yourself lost in the depth of Muichiro's gaze. There was something about the way he looked at you that made your heart flutter and your cheeks flush.

"Maybe we should, uh, get back to training," you finally managed to say, breaking the intense eye contact.

Muichiro straightened, a small smile still playing on his lips. "Of course," he replied, the teasing tone still present in his voice—but the moment was not forgotten.

Neither had the other Hashiras forgotten. They exchanged knowing looks with each other, remembering all of the stolen glances and shared moments of quietude you two had together when both thought no one else was looking.

Gyomei ‘looked’ at you in confusion trying to figure out why you were acting like this. He tried his best to calm you down, saying things like— “Calm down, Im sorry. I didn’t realize how hard I was being on you.” or “This behavior is really unnecessary. Calm down.” Either way you had a snarky remark.

“I don’t fucking care, how about you shut the fuck and let me think for a second.” You said , pacing around. His eyebrows furrowed, his anger slowly rising trying to be patient with you.

Unexpectedly, Gyomei grabbed your upper arm and faced you to him. Your face hitting his chest as he lowered himself to your level. Not being able to look at you in the eyes directly because he’s blind. “Breathe.” Is all he said. You took deep breaths trying to calm down.

Once you finally calm down and lean into his touch you whispered an apology. “Sorry master Gyomei.” All his anger suddenly evaporating as he felt your breathing even out. “Its okay.”

You felt his hands travel down to your waist and grip it. “Although, that type if behavior comes with consequences.” He said, voice deepening. You gulped. Scared of what he had in store for you.

TOMIOKA GIYUU

He just stared at you. He was never good when it came to handling people’s emotions. “It’s never that serious.. Y/N calm down.” You heard him faintly say. His voice low. “Don’t you ever, and I mean ever tell me shits not that serious.” You say, angrily. Walking up to him, dangerously close. “I suggest you back up if you know what good for you.” He said. Locking eyes with yours.

You scoffed, getting closer than you already were if that was even possible. Giyuu felt like you were testing his patience, he felt as if you thought he couldn’t touch you.

He gripped your face, squishing your cheeks together. “Watch who you’re talking to Y/N. You’re acting like a child like every other day I don’t have you laid up in my mansion unable to move.” Giyuu said, his mouth so close to your ear.

She didn’t know what to do, she was confused and panicking. She tried her best to calm you down. “Im sorry! Im sorry!” she said, hugging you.

You calmed down and melted into her touch. her fingers caressing your arms. “you have to try okay my love? You can’t expect to just be able to land a hit on me without training.” she said, her voice soft and smooth. She calmed you down so fast as if this was a everyday occurrence.

He stared at you blankly. just letting your tantrum run through. He had no idea why you were acting like this and didn’t really want to know.

Like Mitsuri, he started panicking. “Okay okay! I realized this is way beyond your level lets start slow!” sweat coming down his face.

“well that’s really unflashy.” He said, one hand on his hip. “Will you shut up?” You said, voice very low. “What was that? Speak up. I couldn’t quite catch that.” He said, sarcastically. “I said can you shut up?” You said louder, making sure he heard you.

“Hey you know thats kind of rude for someone who keeps falling on their ass.” Tengen said. “Maybe if you stop fighting me like I was a damn demon then maybe i wouldnt be falling on my ass all the time? I dont know just a thought.” You said. “Pick up your sword and stop being a baby.” He said, smile plastered on his face.

You grabbed your sword coming at him with full force, faster than before catching him completely off guard. He grabbed both of your arms and pinned them behind your back. “You need to calm down” He said, voice laced with shock and slight anger.

You rolled your eyes knowing that he won’t be nice with you anymore while training.

alright so let’s set the scene

you’re already a demon slayer

so obviously you already know who muichiro is

i mean how could u not? he’s a hashira duh

but!

even though you know who he is… you’ve never spoken with him

UNTILLLLL

you go to the swordsmith village with tanjiro!

and happen to be taking a nap when muichiro comes to wake tanjiro up to ask some questions

when you wake up you see him sitting in front of the kamado siblings

you don’t say anything you just listen to their conversation

muichiro does glance at you when you first sit up but that’s it

no verbal acknowledgment from him at all

but then a demon pulls up

and with one flap of his lil leaf fan

you all go flying

nezuko grabs onto tanjiro and is able to keep him in the building

but you and muichiro are zooming through the air

when you begin your descent towards the ground you attempt to grab onto a tree branch to stop your fall but you’re unsuccessful

you close ur eyes tightly bracing for impact

when you feel someone catch you…

and then throw u straight onto the ground lmfao

u open your eyes and look up to see muichiro staring at you blankly before he says

not giving you even a second to say anything back

at first when standing up you scoff in half rage half disbelief at his statement

after rereading the words on your ribcage for the hundredth time, you fix your shirt and take off in the direction that muichiro went

you don’t find the mist hashira

instead u find a demon!!

a large slimey 4 legged fish demon with a vase sitting on top of its back

and in front of it is a swordsmith child struggling to fight it off

you of course stop running after muichiro and jump in front of the child

your first attack hits the vase, chipping the top off of it but not breaking it

the fish demon roars in pain

you ignore the pained cry of the demon and with a few flicks of your wrist the demon fish falls

cut into pieces

you turn to check on the masked child

only for the fish demon to regenerate

you turn to block the hit coming towards you but you’re too late

the fish hits you and you fly into a tree

the demon picks up the screaming terrified child and begins to squeeze

you stand, ready to fight for the child

when suddenly the arm of the demon is cut off and the kid goes flying into the air

you rush to catch him before he hits the ground

and when you look up after catching him

muichiro is standing in front of you both, sword at the ready

he tells you and the child to run

you stand up saying, “the vase. i hit it before. that’s it’s weak spot.” before pulling the kid behind you

muichiro nods at your words before destroying the vase and the demon

when the demon falls, the kid leaps from behind you, clinging to muichiro and yelling apologies for calling him a “seaweed head”

you giggle at the sight before turning to go back to the village

as you begin running through the forest toward the village

muichiro appears in front of you with the kid thrown over his shoulder

you stop in your tracks looking at him

he sets the kid down and opens the front of his uniform to reveal your words from earlier inked into the side of his ribcage

“the vase. i hit it before. that’s it’s weak spot.”

you smile at the words and then at muichiro who in turn gives you a small, almost unnoticeable smile back

and then you and muichiro speak the same words at the same time,

“be safe.”

and you go your separate ways for the rest of the battle

after the battle, the sun has risen and you find tanjiro, nezuko, and the others

but no sign of muichiro

looking around almost frantically, your heart beat erratic due to your panic

tears welling in your eyes at the thought of losing your soulmate after just finding him hours prior

when a hand gently sets itself on your shoulder

you spin around

and there he is

hair tousled from the fight

small wounds littering his body

uniform ripped open displaying the tattoo of your first words to him

but he’s alive

you launch yourself at him crying, “i’m so glad you’re safe”

and he smiles softly patting your head

“i’m glad you’re safe too.”

10. a ‘ please don’t go ’ hug

Small arms clung around his waist with such a ferocious strength that he did not fully realize his brother capable of. Stood alone, or so he thought, before the resting place of their parents. Yuichiro had came to this place after preparing what little food they had left for his brother to eat. Weeks had passed, and not a word had exchanged between the two. Day in and day out, they would continue their chores in silence, their hobbies in silence, and for Yuichiro, the finances in silence.

And he was drowning.

Drowning in grief. Drowning in stress. Drowning in anger. Drowning...in despair.

For hours, Yuichiro had stayed before his parents final resting place, pulling away the weeds, cleaning their tombs. He felt it when his brother entered the space. And in that same silence, he began to leave, only for Muichiro to close the gap and trap him in a tight embrace.

Frozen in place. His lips part to say something, anything, but nothing came to mind. Instead of rejection, Yuichiros arms slowly rose up then wrap just as tightly around Muichiros own small form. Silent tears rolling down his cheeks as he rests his chin on his shoulder.

You and Muichiro find it hard to sleep during a thunderstorm.

A flash of lightning lit up your room followed by a loud rumble of thunder. You awoke in a startle. The storm had been going for some time but was now passing straight over the mansion. You tried to pull the covers over your eyes but the pounding of the rain and randomness of the rumbles of thunder made it impossible to get back to sleep.   

You weren’t exactly scared of the noise but since being a demon slayer you learned to be a light sleeper to always be aware of approaching demons. The sounds and smells of the storm made it harder on your senses to recognize anything else that might be approaching and as such didn’t allow you to fall back asleep.  

You decided to give up on sleeping the rest of the night and walked out to the common area of the mansion where there was a big window. You watched the lightning strike along the mountain and the rain cascade down the window. You knew this meant you’d be tired tomorrow at training with Master Tokito and thought maybe he would understand given the storm. But knowing Master Tokito he'd say something like you must be prepared for any type of weather and conditions out on missions, this is good training. You giggled to yourself at the thought just when you were startled by a voice behind you. 

"You look like a cat." Muichiro said. You turned around still taken by surprise by his presence. As a Hashira he was still able to sneak up on you and you hated it.  

“A cat?” You questioned.

“Yes, a cat staring out a window.” He elaborated. “I snuck up on you. You didn’t notice me coming, again.” 

"Give me a break there is a big storm and I'm tired." 

"This storm could strike when you are out hunting a demon on no sleep as well. No excuses. Pay better attention." He said 

"Mhm.." You said rolling your eyes hearing him say the exact words you knew he would. You looked back out the window and Muichiro sat down next to you. 

"Why are you down here then?" You asked. 

"I cannot sleep." He said simply. 

"Oh Mr. Big Hashira can't sleep in a storm either?" You teased, but Muichiro took no notice of the playful tone in your voice. 

"Storms are good times for demons to strike, and they know that. It inhibits our ability to smell and sense all our surroundings, and my Tsuguko is here. What a sad excuse for a Hashira I would be if a demon attacked during a storm and hurt you while you slept. This is why I cannot sleep." He replied. You felt a bit flustered but knew his words were strictly due to following his role as a Hashira and not because he wanted to protect you personally. Even still, thinking of Muichiro not sleeping because he felt the need to protect you made your stomach flutter. 

“Well, I'm awake so you can sleep." You said but yawned right after. 

"Hmm..." Was the only reply he gave as he zoned out watching the rain. 

You watched the rain with him in silence for some time. Due to his presence you no longer felt the fear of a demon catching you off guard and your eyes began to get heavy. You caught yourself taking longer blinks and the weight of her head started to sway. You shook your head a few times to keep awake but the sleep was still winning. 

"Stop fighting your sleep. You need rest for our training tomorrow, go back up to bed." Muichiro said.  

"No. If you are awake I'll stay awake." You said stubbornly. 

"Those are direct orders from me as your higher up." He stated and turned to look at you furiously only to see you had indeed fallen asleep. The weight of your head swayed again until it rested on his shoulder. 

Muichiro’s eyes widened for a second as he wasn't sure how to handle this situation. He let out a sigh and decided you were indeed like a cat, and when a cat falls asleep it is rude to disturb it. Muichiro stayed very still throughout the rest of the night to not disturb you. He watched as your breathing changed through your sleep and found himself proud that even through your dreams you kept up your total concentration breathing.  

Once the sun began to show on the mountain, he felt exhaustion hit him and he fell asleep resting his head on yours. Maybe it would be ok if training started a little later today... but just a little.

he found it a bit hard to understand all the words but once he got it, sanemi replied harshly. “then why don’t you speak to me?” you were taken aback by that and you looked down, a bit embarrassed. i’m not sure you would like my company and maybe you can’t stand that i’m mute.
