yknow i dont go here but sometimes i gotta go: seriously respect clowns. they have the worst pop culture representation in the world and also the best most thorough honor code. they're just here to be silly little guys who bring joy and are very conscientious about doing so responsibly. let them to their merriment in peace you dont hafta take potshots. i dont go here but like maybe i should, you all seem super chill

after literal years i finally got around to downloading a pdf of the wipers times, an unsancitioned satitical british trench magazine circulated among the troops in france from 1916-1918 after the fortuitous discovery of a printing press. i have approximately five million other things i need to read so idk when i'll be able to devote much time to it, and i gotta pick up a proper copy bc it's missing at least salient no 4 vol 2. that said? i'm genuinely laughing at what i've skimmed so far

obsessed with the idea of time as a physical location. the way you can use "back then" and "back there" interchangeably. time "travel". old memories being described as "distant", as if where they took place corresponds with when. the way that being unable to let go of the past is referred to as an inability to "move on". death, the cessation of motion of both body and time for the affected individual, being a point of "rest". the past is another country; they do things differently there.

I like that despite being a child abuser, child exploiter, and an emotionally absent father, Reginald draws the line at transphobia.

I will never not be amused by the endless irony of AM and how he, a machine with nothing but hatred and envy for the humans who created him, was so loved by his Harlan Ellison (the original author of the story, AKA his real life creator) that he HAD to voice him in every single installment of IHNMAIMS possible, not letting anyone else take him.
The very thing AM hates most is the one that gives him life and keeps him alive outside of the narrative. In a way, it's similar to how he keeps the five humans alive in the story, but at the same time it's the opposite spectrum of it: the burning hatred of the machine versus the boundless love of the artist.

eh, you know
the usual
in my reality, the fact they're not willing to reassemble the set only suggests they've already filmed enough within said set, so you can guess the direction of my train of thought, r i g h t?
how many DM fics have i read? how many ideas have i seen explored, including those offered by the cast..?
the answer is: yes
(should have made the pillow look softer tho...)
