Fast X

LAVENDER NAIL POLISH: Dante Reyes x fem!reader

Summary: Sitting at the table with Dante as he paints her nails, makes her wonder why he's doing that in the first place.

Notes: English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I may have made while I wrote this short story.

For my friend who watched these movies with me during a movie night - I love you girl <3

She knew for a fact that there were many things in this world she should've considered as unnerving - like racing itself with all the possible consequences. Yet the scariest thing on Earth for her in that very moment was one of the most common things possible: nail polish.

She pulled off many dangerous stunts, she almost got caught by the police more times than she could count; yet that little tube full of colorful liquid was far more frightening than that.

She didn't choose the color, he did. He was the one holding her hand in place as he painted her nails to a light shade of purple too. Perhaps in another situation she would've found it a nice color and a nice gesture - but she found it scary instead.

He never touched her or made her do stuff before. She was never even tied up or anything. It was new - completely new and that's why it scared her so much.

"Am I going somewhere?" she asked as she watched him work on her nails - she was quite jealous when she noticed that he did a better job than she usually did.

The question was meant as 'Am I going somewhere with you?'. She never saw where he went, she only stayed at the hotel rooms he rented for the occasion. But he talked about it - he liked to talk a lot. It was more like ranting - Dom Toretto this, Dom Toretto that, he did this so I did that. That's why she ended up with him in the first place, because Dom Toretto did that.

The first day she had to spend with Dante Reyes was the first day she realized that being a part of Dom's family isn't that much fun all the time.

"We are going to a race, darling." he let go of her hand with a girly movement after he blew on her freshly painted fingernails, and for a second she thought that he's mocking her. "Now give me your other hand."

She did as her eyes lit up at the word - race. She hadn't had the change to take part in one since forever - or watch one at the very least. A race, she'll finally go to a race.

"Where?" Dante actually chuckled at the excitement in her voice - and she never thought he could chuckle without being psychotic or sarcastic.

"We're going straight to Rio de Janeiro." he took a hold of her other hand as he answered and soon her nail on her pinky finger was purple as well. "After your nails are done."

Her excitement stopped for a moment - Rio de Janeiro. Her, Dante and Rio de Janeiro. That sounded like a not so good idea, especially because she had a feeling that Dom will be there too. That's why she'll be there. So Dante can show her off - so he can show that he has her, a part of Dom's family.

She tried to ignore that thought, she should talk about something else.

"Why purple?"

"Lavender." he corrected her with an 'are you this dumb' look on his face.

"So why lavender?" she asked as she purposefully changed her tone on the word lavender.

"Because I have to match my car..." he explained. "And you have to match me."

She tilted her head a bit - trying to hide the sudden pain in her heart at what she just heard. Only then did she notice that his nails were the same color as hers.

"Must be a nice car." she said instead of questioning it any further. "And a nice choice in color. It's pretty."

"Yes, that's what I'm talking about!" Dante spoke up with a shout as if she'd be the first one to think so. "You see, sometimes we have to let go of all that masculinity. And on the other hand, it'll look good on you too."

She didn't know if she should be flattered or not.

"You know." she began saying as Dante finished with the nail polish and let go of her hand completely. "In a different world we'd actually be pretty good friends."

"We'll be in this one too. Eventually." he put the nail polish aside and crossed his legs as they sat at the table together, looking at the other without saying a word.

Is he mocking her, she had to ask herself again.

If she didn't know about his vendetta against Dom, she'd maybe consider him less psychotic, but still kind of crazy. Maybe then he'd be more funny too. Dante sitting there with a bathrobe on, with his hair up in two small buns was actually funny and oddly enough, friendly. He still seemed strange, but he seemed less like a guy who murders people for fun.

"Continue on with the princess treatment and we might be." she joked. "Will we wear matching clothes too?"

"Of course we will!"

"Of course we will." she repeated. "Because you're a show off."

"I never said I wasn't."

"Dom will be there, won't he?" she asked with a slight head tilt. "That's why I'm going with you. So you can show me off."

"Clever girl..." Dante praised as he patted the top of her hand with his. "But you should go get ready, because this will be a race you won't want to miss." he then stood up and left her alone in the kitchen - but later on he shouted: "I'll go wash my hair until you get ready!"

And she laughed. Not chuckled quietly like she used to - but laughed.

Perhaps if Dante would be a bit less psychotic, she could let herself like him a lot more. Perheps she'd actually like him.

Then, perhaps, she'd actually have the bravery to admit to herself that she already does.

The jumbled thoughts I had while watching Fast & Furious X, as someone who didn't watch any Fast and Furious movies before:

SPOILERS

- Car chase and machine guns within the 1st 10 minutes. Perfect. Exactly what I came here for.

(Did they film the initial rio scenes in portugal??? The extra's Brazilian accent was almost as weird as Joaquim de Almeida's lol)

-"The big strong man is having feelings" my friend when Vin diesel looked constipated while talking to Michelle Rodriguez

-If I didn't already know I was bisexual, Charlize Theron and Jason Mamoa's confrontation would make sure I became aware of it

-Jason momoa licked the knife and my friend and everyone else groaned. I proclaimed myself in love with him. I don't think I'm ever gonna live this down

-The truck flipped, and they willingly crashed into it. How are none of them dead?????

-I love Jason momoa's character. I really do.

-How tf is Vin diesel still alive???????

-How is anyone still alive!!!???

-I hope the cop dies (Aimes). Kill him brie

-Me watching Mia kick the asses of armed men "I love women"

-John Cena?!?! I literally yelled I'm the movie theater btw

-Why is daniela melchior speaking with a Brazilian accent???? Why are Portuguese actors pretending to be Brazilian???

-As a portuguese person, I'm very proud of the fact that the best moments of this movie take place in portugal.

-This is also the 1st time I've ever worried about the consequences of what happens to the country and the people that live there during an action movie.

They blew up the dam and now the entirety of Northern portugal is without power.......... fuck these guys.

-Aimes still working with Dante after 10 years and never trying to double cross him for more power (as is implied) sounds very gay to me and my friend. I ship it now. Love me some villainous gays!!

-My friend watching them leave the river: "good for them cause it's not everyone that leaves the Douro alive"

-Gal gadot?!? I read somewhere she dies In another movie. Does anyone die in this???

-The rock!!!!!!

-That's it?!?! Where's the rest of it???????

All in all:

Silliest thing I've ever seen in my life. I can see why people like it and will definitely be watching the next ones and binge watching the ones before!!

Alright good people I have seen Fast X! Thoughts will be under the cut for spoilers. It gets pretty long.

First and foremost! I absolutely loved how the stakes managed to top F9; I didn’t think they could outdo going into space but they did it! Holy crap son!

Dante motherloving Reyes! At first I was gonna say that is all but that will not do him justice. Dante is hands down the best freaking villain this franchise ever had. Jason Momoa understood the assignment and cemented himself a fav. My dude was so hammy and absolutely took over every scene he was in. And his villainy, the way he deconstructed the power of family, how he got everyone on his side? *Chef’s kiss*

Aimes, this dude. I will give the writing for this dude props. When you go into the Fast movies you usually expect whatever government person (like Brian, Hobbs, Palindrome in Spy Racers) to side with Dom and his crew. This dude did not, deadass pulled a Riley and I should’ve peeped he was a bad guy the moment he vehemently said he hates barbeques and family. Who hurt you dude? Anyhoo when he shot down the plane with Tej, Ramsey, Han, and Roman had me sit up in the movie theater. I later burst out laughing after finding out the guy who plays Aimes also played Aquaman on Smallville.

Speaking of Roman; that dude finally got some character development! The plane scene with him and Tej almost (mind you almost) made me scream in the movie theater. I honestly did not think that he would, I was to used to homeboy being just mostly comic relief.

We need to talk about Jakob. You do NOT give me fun uncle Jake and then do THAT. Nope, no, that’s just disrespectful. In a series known for bringing back dead people he better had, I don’t care how convoluted, lived.

So ngl I was surfing Google on my phone and got spoiled TWICE OVER about Gisele and Luke. Honestly I shouldn’t be surprised about Gisele because like I just said regarding Jakob, people don’t truly die in this franchise. Also if Owen can somehow survive what happened to him, Gisele can survive being shot and falling out of that hummer on to the tarmac. The Rock coming back? Now that was a surprise. Because of the infamous hostility between him and Vin Diesel, I really didn’t see him coming back. Maybe to do Hobbs and Shaw 2 but that’s it.

I remember back in like 2013/2014 there was mentioning of a female lead Fast movie. With the way this movie was set up I can now see the players for this. You got Letty, Gisele, Cipher (as the obviously token evil teammate), possibly Tess and possibly Isabel for this team. I also say bring in Ms. Nowhere from Spy Racers due to the fact that one of the Agency members who declined to go after Dom was a female. It could’ve been her and it would make a nice connection with Spy Racers.

Anyway I am definitely waiting for Fast 11 because I need to see how this all ends. That cliffhanger they left us with? Had me on the edge of my seat. There’s really no one possibly save for Hobbs who can help them and he’s somewhere else. Ramsey and the crew are severely injured, Letty is in Antarctica while Cipher, Jakob’s possibly dead, and Mia is...somewhere. Deckard is off to help his mother. The stakes have truly been raised for the coming end of this franchise.

Okay so i have never seen a Fast and Furious movie, not my thing, i had no idea how many there are, i just saw the memes. Okay. So i just got an advert that made me laugh for 2 reasons. 1, it was for Fast X, like, there actually, literally, physically are 10 of these movies now? How can you make 10 movies about people driving cars? These's genuinely 10 movies in this franchise? How are they still going? Who's watching these? And this is just for this franchise, what about every other car movie franchise? Are they not all the same? 2, the advert i got, so the way it's shot, a lady in a skirt pops a squat then all of a sudden something yellow comes gushing out between her legs. But it was a flag. But it was only at the end of the shot did i realise it was a flag. Like, she pops a squat and shoots something yellow out of her vagina. But it's a flag. There's 10 of these movies.

Fast X (dir. Louis Leterrier).

Leterrier takes over the directorial reigns from longtime Fast & Furious franchise director Justin Lin, who previously helmed five entries and remains credited as co-writer/producer, after departing the tenth film a week into production. [This] is an ultra-maximalist sequel directly addressing the events of Fast Five. It takes the “family” to unhinged levels of car-based cinematic carnage and mayhem across the globe.

So yes we went to see Fast X (Part 1) this week which is "The Beginning of the End" of the Fast and the Furious Saga. I seen every one of these movies in the Theater. I remember going to see the very first one in the Summer of 2001. It looked like a cool movie cool and fast cars, lots of action and stunts and everything what is there not to like? and I remember seeing it and thinking it was awesome! and here we are now almost 22 years later watching watching the 10th movie (11th if you count Hobbs&Shaw) in the series. I can't believe it has gone on this long but I have to admit I have enjoyed it every minute of it! it has been so much fun to watch all these movies though out the years and this one is no different.

Now before getting into my actual movie thoughts they did have some collectable goodies which of course we picked up and you can see them here!

But yup we went to see it and it was awesome! its like 2 and a half hours of just vehicular insanity! all the crazy chases and stunts, the shoot outs and fist fights its all just totally bananas! but it is so much fun to watch and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Now I know lots of ppl don't like the movies becasue they are ridiculous but that is part of the fun of this whole series and all I can say is if you are looking for a movie with a serious plot and Oscar winning acting that deals with heavy social issues its not going to be this. This movie and series is all about fun and you go to see it purely for the spectacle you go to see what crazy thing they are going to do next not for the brilliant writing and thespian work you go to see shit blow up! lol

Now in this one you can tell that they are wrapping things up through the various events in the movie (I'm trying to no spoil anything) but it is linked to various things through the previous movies and mainly what happened in the 5th film (Fast Five/Fast & Furious 5) This movie actually starts with the ending of the

and then they jump to present day and that is when the movie actually starts. they continue to pay their respects to Paul Waker and his character there is a scene where Dom (Vin Diesel) is look at some pictures of him and Paul Waker's character and a instrumental version "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa plays in the background

but the story is basically this someone from the past mainly Dante Reyes (played by Jason Momoa) comes looking for Dom for revenge and plans to take everything from Dom including his family and then his life and when that happens all hell breaks loose.

Now alot of people are praising Jason Momoa in this and I would agree he is the ultimate villain that the family can't out fight or out race they seemingly have met their match in Momoa's Dante Reyes. and yes Jason Momoa is amazing in this I would honestly describe his character as a cross between Bane form the Dark Knight Rises and The Joker. He is intelligent and brutal and brings the family to its knees (much like Bane did to Gotham) but he acts and has that crazy flamboyancy that the Joker has. at one scene in the movie I actually turned to one of the people I was with and whispered to them "this guys crazy!" and Momoa's character is in stark contrast to Vin Diesel's Dom to where they play off very well together being if Momoa's Dante is the Joker then Vin's Dom is Batman

Other then that everyone else did an amazing job in reprising their roles and the movie like I said is very fun and very action heavy. The stunts are wild and crazy like chasing a giant rolling bomb through the streets of Rome and for example near the end they are driving down the side of Dam

The fights and stunts are all really cool and well done and it does have some of that Action movie humor as well that gave me a giggle here and there.

There is some twists and turns and even some surprises you won't really expect especially at the end where it left me kinda shocked I couldn't believe it, but yes this one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger being it Part 1 of 3 and I am excited to see the part 2! but yeah if you love this series and enjoy it I would totally recommend going to see it.

Also the surprised don't end when the movie ends there is really nice mid-credits scene too.

I wouldn't recommend this movie to my friends. I wouldn't rewatch this movie.

Dom is such a good dad. Letty's motorcycle jump above the lamp was cool. Letty's truly such a badass. Brian Toretto is way too cool.

Destroying the Vatican like that is crazy. Damn at Jakob and Brian taking that plane in the plane. That drive down the dam is crazy.
