What do you do in a multimedia graphic design course? May I ask in which country you study? Just curious and ignorant here, no need to answer if you don't feel like it. Wish you well!

In the Philippines, universities are limited to categories in relation to art industry. And Art schools or avail courses are FAR from where I live. Considering I can't leave my fam, I couldn't afford to move out so I sniffed out the closest university I can find with a BMMA course instead.

MULTIMEDIA ARTS, as stated in the name‐ explores A LOT in the media from physical to digital but most likely digital! Its purpose? COMMUNICATION. Messing around the computer and stuff like comp courses but ofc for an audience. Since the school is specializing MMA with graphic design, we study Adobe programs (IND,AE,PS,AI,XD) as it is an industry standard for graphic designers. We learn to appreciate, practice, and make both good art and design ::)

We also learn other things ( although short & just the fundamentals ) such as 2D and 3D animation, 3D modelling, Motion graphics, product packaging, Printing, Web Designing, client management/advance communication, etc.

oh yeah, summer of 2014. freak accident. and then i had to wear these sunglasses (on top of the glasses i already wore. both for protection and bc my face was kinda fucked) for a few months into the new school year, like high school wasn't hard enough. but i still went right back into marching band bc i knew that if i didn't have a regular distraction, i'd lose my mind lol

(in retrospect tho, i really should've milked the lost eye thing. or at least taken more advantage of how nice certain people were being for a while. but i was a teenager who Hated being the focus of attention and i more appreciated the people who acted like nothing happened at all. now i'm like, i couldve asked people for sympathy money and shit. but i was a "good kid" smh)

i've mentioned the eye thing here and there on this blog. like i have no depth perception to speak of (i occasionally bump into things), i feel extra connected to one-eyed fictional characters and/or characters that have facial scars/disfigurements (and i got SO upset when they just gave thor his eye back after ragnarok bc god forbid a hero is visibly disabled), i can stomach pretty much any kind of gore in horror movies Except eye gore (for uh. obvious reasons lol), and i still kinda hate being photographed (not bc i think i look ugly, but it bothers me that any photo taken at an angle will have my prosthesis looking straight forward and not towards the camera bc it doesn't move so i always look cross-eyed or something)

so yeah! that's my lost eye lore lol

okay bad news elytrafemme battalion we reached the point of the night where i am literally taking physical damage from my screen by viewing an image (not in my eyes in my chest). I am going to try to explain donnie darko in voice memo to my friend and then lay very very still in my bed so they cannot get me. and then , if my eyes are too itchy, im going to take a claritin 🔥 i know. getting crazy. Earlier i was walking home and was really engaged in a mental conversation about the ethics of explaining smoking a bong to a 14 year old because i didnt rlly want to fuck up the convo, but it didnt happen obviously. ive lived a long life but itd be frankly unreasonable to defer to me for any kind of expertise on the bong. much like politics u just have to rawdog it and itll go so so bad but in the course of 18 hours u too can become grown. #20

Hi, Amethyst! Sure thing! Also still working on that schedule stuff--I have a few suspicions for what's causing the problem.

I think the main thing is to find people to follow and reblog what you like. You can follow tags and look through them, but it's quite detached and impersonal--a dash full of other people you've specifically curated is one of the big draws of the site. Tumblr's all about finding your people!!

Another is to block tags you don't want to see--which can be found by going to settings, general, filters, and then just typing in whatever you don't like (you can filter both tags and key words). And it doesn't have to be triggers (of which the most common formatting is "tw [thing]" or "[thing] tw"), but even just a show someone posts about you don't care about (I blocked ted lasso for that reason).

Also block people as much as you like--and again, not just if they're being genuinely shitty, even if they just have a character interpretation you don't like. This is YOUR blog and YOUR online space, tailor it to YOU.

Building a circle of people and finding what tags/people you want to block can take some time, so don't rush it. You'll get there! The main goal is to have fun!

Another thing you can do that might not be immediately applicable: some people have personalized tags for what they post. For example, all my asks are under "quil's queries", my art/writing under "quil's quill", and stuff about me/my life under "quil lore" or "quil's unholy underworld." You can come up with tags of your own--for those things, or for the queue if you use it, or anything else.

But that's optional! Really it boils down to post what you like, follow people you like, reblog what you like, and just engage! Send asks, compliment and share things, and have fun!
