some of you don't realize how big Taylor's debut album was. She was technically an indie artist, the only artist from a new small label getting a grammy nomination and touring with the Jonas Brothers based solely on the performance of her first album. It was a big deal. She was signing contracs with Disney after that first album, that's how she got to be in the Hannah Montana movie and why she wrote 2 songs for the movie.

Taylor Swift peaked at number 5 on Billboards 200 and was number 1 for 24 weeks in the top country album list, it became the longest-charting album of the 2000s decade. It was such an unexpected success they made her release the Holliday Collection and The Beautiful Eyes EP while she worked on her second album.

Annabeth= you can't convince she isn't a swiftie i know she is, but not many people know cause she thinks it's lowkey embarassing to be into Taylor, but she's totally a Speak now, 1989 stan she was screaming "Better than revenge" every day and every night when Rachel was into the picture, also she totally made Percy listen to "You are in love" cause it reminds her of them. Also also "New Romantics" is her anthem. She also loves "This is why we can't have nice things" cause it remindes her of Luke. I could actually go on forever but i'm gonna stop here now

Piper = duh of course she is, she is a Lover and Red girly, confused, romantic, hopeful in true love even after being hurt, she's on the "Paper Rings", "Me", "Lover" the song, "The Man" "I think he knows" ecc side of Lover and on the "The moment i knew", "Begin again", "Everything has changed", "The lucky one" "Stay,stay,stay" side of Red

Frank= i know in my heart, soul and mind he's a swiftie too, he actually takes Hazel to Taylor's concerts and randomly sends her Taylor's songs that reminds him of Hazel, he's the kind of guy who proposes during "Love story" cause lowkey is an hopless romantic. He was screaming crying every liryc of "You belong with me" at night in the Argo II when he thought Leo had a thing for Hazel. He gifted Midnights to Hazel cause the album is so her according to him. To me he is a Speak now girlie

Will= he's one of the biggest swifties at chb, there's literally nothing you can say to convince me otherwise. He's into her country albums more but actually lover all of her music, Taylor is his comfort singer (besides his mom of course) he's a Fearless girly and listens to "Fearless" the song, during long operations cause it helps him, "Hey Stephen" makes him think of Nico as well as "New year's day" cause he's a simp and "Dancing with our hands tied" cause that's literally his pov in Tartarus,idc, and of course "The best day" makes him think of his mom. "Change" and "Jump then fall" are some of his favorite Taylor's songs ever. I know my boy cries to "Mirrorball" and "This is me trying". You can't tell me he didn't sing "Our song" to Nico at least once

Percy,Hazel and Nico are Taylor enthusiasts, not quite fans but their s.o introduced them to her so now they appreciate Taylor too

Percy= he's a 1989 girlie, he loves "Welcome to New York" and thinks "Bad blood" is one of her best songs ever. After Annabeth made him listen to "YAIL" he fell in love wih it and it's now their song, he screams to "Haunted" when he feels disappointed by his father or by the Gods in general. He loves "The great war" too cause it reminds him of Annabeth as well as "Mine". And he loves "Long live" cause it just fits him and his story

Hazel= she's into Midnights (not only cause Frank gifted it to her, even tho that definetly made the album gain some extra points) "Bejeweled" and "Karma" are some of her favorite songs of the whole album but she cried the first time she listened to "You're on your own kid" so it has a special place on her heart. She dedicated "Lavander Haze" and "Sweet nothings" to Frank and it made him a bit emotional. Also she loves "Paris" cause she has taste. She absolutely adores "The outside" and the Debut album in general

Nico= i know what you're thinking hes a Reputation supporter but i actually see him more as a Folklore/Evermore girlie and a Lover one too, unlike Piper he's more on "The archer", "Cruel summer", "It's nice to have a friend" and "Soon you'll get better" side of Lover cause u know my boy is a little bit of a mess, and of course he loves "Daylight", "Cornelia street" (actually this song is his religion we know he has low self esteem) and "Aterglow" cause they make him think of Will. He thinks "No body, no crime" is probably Taylor best dark bop and obviously he loves "Gold rush" but i think he relates it back to his old crush on Percy, "Evermore" the song, is one of his favorite on the whole album, as well as "Long story short". I know Nico secretely cries to "Tolerate it". He dedicated "Invisible string" to Will (actually if you read TSATS without being a fucking hater, you'll know this is lowkey, very lowkey tho, canon) he loves "Peace" and "The Lakes" cause he relates to them deeply. I still think he loves Rep too like "Look what you made me do" it's totally his jam "I did something bad" is his go to song when he wants to be in a good mood and of course "Gorgeous"and "Delicate" cause he's secretely a romantic and down bad for his boyfriend.

If you don't know Taylor this won't make sense but if you have time and want new music give those songs a go, cause they're really good trust me u will not regret it

Here at midnightraindean.tumblr.com i’ve given the “are dean/cas swifties” discourse A LOT of thought and I’ve come to the conclusion that dean is absolutely a swiftie. Not like a swiftie™️ in like he’s an internet swiftie who keeps up with easter eggs, but a swiftie in the sense that he anxiously waits for her to drop new music, he loves all of it but mostly her newer stuff. Dean would never admit the levels of his swiftieness but he did sign up for the eras tour presale and didn’t get in, so he dropped thousands of dollars on resale tickets he made everyone go with him and used the excuse that he was doing this for jack but then cried through the entire evermore set. His surprise songs were dbatc on guitar and dear reader on piano and he needed stiff drink after experiencing that. This is MY headcanon and i will not be accepting any criticisms.

Cas on the other hand likes taylor’s older stuff specially fearless. He’s a casual enjoyer NOT a swiftie. Cas loves THEE pop girlies cunty music. He does indulge dean tho and asks to play midnights in the impala not cause he loves it but cause he knows dean loves it and is too ashamed to play it with someone else in the car.

I saw the Eras Tour movie last night and feel compelled to put together a few "Superlatives". Keep in mind I'm not a Swiftie. (Or am I? Unclear, even to me.) Worst Moment for the Edible to Hit: The weird glow-y orbs floating around during "Willow." Moment That Did Not Meet Expectations for my Movie Theater Experience: "Cruel Summer" bridge. Not Loud Enough! Best Easter Egg for Gaylors: "Style" - the black and white dancer costumes and chess board graphics are a direct reference to the Victoria's Secret 2014 Fashion show performance. I just came home from the Eras tour movie and here are some thoughts:

First each era:

Lover: definitely a good place to start! Who doesn't love screaming the Cruel Summer bridge? But whyy did they have to cut the ultimate Katniss Everdeen song? (Aka The Archer)

Fearless: Fun and nostalgia! I don't really have much else to add about this section.

Evermore: I got more emotional than I expected about this section! Willow is an Experience TM (in a good way ofc), but also, Marjorie nearly made me cry, and the setting in Tolerate it is so well thought out. The Champagne Problems bridge ♥ I don't even mind NBNC had been removed from the movie because it's not my personal favorite 😅

Reputation: this is my personal favorite era so it's no surprise I was pretty much jumping up and down on my seat... Wish it was a little longer tho, like it would have been amazing to have songs like I did something bad or Getaway Car in the set list, but I shouldn't complain because some other eras are even shorter. (Also, the transition between Don't blame me and Look what you made me do! Always gets me)

Speak now: Only Enchanted (since Long Live had been moved to the ending credits, which admittedly was probably a good move) but well, it's always a lot of fun to scream the chorus, and Taylor's dress in this section looks so gorgeous!

Red: probably my least favorite section mainly due to my low tolerance to the earworms, but it was still fun (yes I even sang along to waneegbt, which I didn't think I'd do :'D) and ATW never disappoints!

Folklore: dare I say.... the section where I noticed my attention starting to go to other things, even though there were also songs I love such as August and Illicit Affairs. I would have kept Cardigan in the movie and taken, idk, f. ex. tlgad out of this section if smth had to be cut. And! I may make a separate post about this but damn I realized that My tears ricochet is such a hijacked Peeta song! Maybe it's just me but there were many parts that I could connect with him, but yeah, more about that later.

1989: After the much calmer folklore section this felt like 'it's party time!!' :'D It felt somehow more special knowing that we'll get the TV in only a couple of weeks! I think this section has pretty much all those songs you'd expect it to have, and tbh I don't even mind too much Wildest dreams got cut from the movie version.

surprise songs: ngl the LA shows each had such /amazing/ surprise songs (imo) that they couldn't have gone wrong now matter which ones they would have filmed (I was secretly hoping for You are in love and/or 1 of the reputation songs she sang in the last few shows), but I was very happy about YOYOK. Even filmed the bridge part and I could hear myself yelling it in the bg 😅 Our song is also fun tho I'm not really that big on the debut album generally speaking.

Midnights: Another favorite of mine. Those sitting near me were probably annoyed by the loudness with which I sang 'it's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me'. Karma is such a great way to finish the show (in my biased opinion, bc Karma is definitely one of my favorite songs from Midnights), and I wouldn't take anything out of this section.

Overall experience: While I admit that the (almost) 3 hours were starting to feel at some point, I don't think I would want it any shorter, I had such a great time! My personal experience was made better by the subtitles because I'm still a rookie Swiftie who doesn't remember each and every song by heart so it really helped me to sing along 😂 The movie hall I was watching it in wasn't huge, and well, I'm Finnish and we Finns are not generally speaking known for being loud so it did not get too loud at any point, but me and my neighbors were still singing along pretty much the whole time and I was also pleased that many fellow movie visitors knew some regular habits from the concerts, such as doing the heart hands or yelling 1, 2, 3 let's go bitch, etc. Luckily no one stood up near me! It was probably a good thing to go on the premiere day because I could tell most of the others in the hall were fans and not just going there 'because why not'. (Nothing wrong with that, but I myself feel more comfortable when I know that those near me are not judging me for being an enthusiastic viewer) And, as an added bonus, I got a friendship bracelet!!! I didn't think anyone would bring them, but the one sitting right next to me did, and it was such a nice gesture (I got one that said 'Cruel Summer'. They also gave us the tour posters at the cinema)

This movie/concert made me also realize how much happier (Taylor's) music currently makes me, so thank you, Miss Swift, for allowing even us here in the cold north to see this before you've even toured Europe!

Overall, 10/10, would (and likely will) go again. And yep, can't wait for next May now!

how did you get into Taylor? cuz ugh idk i’ve been thrown off by experiences with deranged swifties but i really wanna get into her music idk where where to start tho 😭 like what do you recommend

i’ve been casually listening to her since i was a child like i grew up with debut and fearless obviously (everyone my age did lol).

anyways this is SUCHHH an oddly specific reason but i ran a miraculous ladybug fanpage on twitter back in 2021, and i edited adrien/marinette to haunted in april, and i had that song specifically on repeat for so so so long. it was around the time enchanted blew up on tiktok, so then i listened to enchanted, and then red tv came out and that’s when i went from casual listener to an actual fan.

i’d say red taylor’s version is a good place to start, because a lot of the songs are childhood hits, and the vault tracks are incredible, but i could be biased because that was the album that made me a swiftie lol. otherwise i recommend speak now (specifically haunted i could write novels about that song) because that’s my favourite album and i love it to pieces 🙂‍↕️ folklore is a good place to go too if you’re into a softer sound (or gut wrenching songs).

Kageyama: Kageyama would not listen to Taylor Swift. I literally can not see him listening to any music besides maybe like intense anime osts to motivate him lol. Would probably only listen to her hits if they came on the radio.

Tanaka: Basically the same as Noya but I think his bubble would expand past just 1989. He would bump hard to some of the Rep songs. Thinks the “rap songs” are edgy. End Game? Yeah, he knows the entire rap verse. ...Ready For It? This bitch will rap the entire song.

Oikawa: Got pissed when Taylor switched to pop. Pretends to be an avid “old Taylor” fan, but got exposed when Iwaizumi caught him blasting Getaway Car one day. He likes to pretend to be a pretentious shit, but he literally is such a simp for the bubblegum pop romantic songs like London Boy, King of My Heart, How You Get The Girl, etc. Don’t get me wrong though, he is very in love with old Taylor too. Better Than Revenge is in his “angery 😤😡” playlist. Cries to Long Live because it reminds him of his team. Definitely has a crush on Taylor Swift.

Iwaizumi: Mostly listens to old Taylor. Pretends like he doesn’t enjoy it, but Oikawa’s been rubbing off on him a little and some of the songs are catchy, aokay?! I think he would enjoy the more rock sounding songs off of Red like State of Grace or Holy Ground.

Nekoma

Kuroo: Likes the sexier sounding ones. Not because we are sexualizing this king, but I think he enjoys the mature sounds and they’re all kind of vibey. False God, Style and Don’t Blame Me are his jams. Man has good taste

Kenma: Only listens to Minecraft ost

Yaku: Would also vibe to 1989. Shake It Off, Blank Space and I Know Places are some of his favorites from the album. Probably gets embarrassed so he listens to Taylor when he’s by himself or slides it into the queue occasionally in the car. 

Lev: Oh my hell. He definitely listens to her worst songs and thinks they’re bops. He would. Stay Stay Stay? Yeah he would get married to that song. I also lowkey think he would be really touched by some of her songs about family since he’s so close with his sister. Never Grow Up and the Best Day probably get him a little emotional. 

Fukurodani

Bokuto: Hinata introduced him to her pop hits. He was very curious and literally could NOT stop bumping to Me! and so he did more research. Now he literally always listens to her screaming/crying songs. Will blast that shit in the car and cry and it’s definitely very cathartic for him. Ever since this discovery the frequency of dejected mode goes down significantly. Everyone wonders why, but Akaashi’s intuition (he walked in on Bokuto screaming “HEY YOU CALL ME UP AGAIN JUST TO BREAK ME LIKE A PROMISE” one time) tells him it’s because he has a new outlet. Claims to be able to sing the long note in Dear John. Whether he can or not is subjective.

Akaashi: A poetic king with amazing taste. Listens to the songs for the LYRICS. He probably really enjoys Folklore because it’s more mellow and has some amazing lyricism, but he is definitely a fan of some of the more hidden gems as well. The dramatic heartbreaking ones sometimes grab his attention too. The Lakes, Cornelia Street, The Last Time, Breathe and Come Back… Be Here are some of his favorites.

when did u start stanning Taylor?

Okay so for people who are new lol here is my journey re Taylor. My HS best friend was a HUGE Taylor Swift fan from debut era onwards like she discovered her in about 2007 and was amped for Fearless to come out. I was a big Carrie Underwood fan so she kept trying to get me to like Taylor too and I didn’t really like her as much but I was like 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ about it. When Fearless came out we listened to it like day of release or day after and I was also like 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ about it. I did (and still do) prefer debut. Like the lyrics didn’t resonate for me and I didn’t think she had a good voice and I didn’t understand the fuss about her.

My friend continued to be a big fan for Speak Now and I actually liked that a bit better but not enough to like be a fangirl.

I found RED extremely annoying when it came out lol like I was legit an anti which is hilarious in hindsight since it’s half my personality but by this stage all the “EVERYTHING IS ABOUT A BOY!!! GUESS WHICH ONE!!!” stuff was super big and I was like “fucking hell this bitch is insufferable” and like I was like what 18ish or so and like 22 and WANEGBT were so annoyingly earwormy and struck me as so deeply basic that I was like “ew.”

My friend went off Tay over the course of RED era - she also didn’t like the pop songs much and she didn’t like where the marketing was going tbh and by 1989 she was like a true neutral.

So I didn’t listen to 1989 when it came out like I did with the previous ones to discuss takes with my friend but obvi I didn’t live under a rock and it was EVERYWHERE lol and then I remember watching the Blank Space MV and by this time I knew I was gay and I was like out and shit and I was like “holy shit this girl is so hot wow.” So then I followed her a bit more actively but not like in fandom. I read a lot of like Buzzfeed and Cosmo articles on her tho and the Squad and Tayvin and Hiddleswift and all that. I followed Snakegate and thought it was stupid af like I was Team Tay in that I was like “this is all so fucking idiotic why do people hate her this much?”

Then she sorta disappeared from the media.

Oh! In this time I also lived with Dr Blank Space who was a big 1989 girl but really especially just liked the song Blank Space lmao like it was most of her personality.

I watched and listened to LWYMMD when the lyric video and MV came out and really liked both. Then I listened to Rep and I really liked it. And I think after that I just liked the music a lot and mostly followed that yk.

I liked Lover the album but hated YNTCD. I casually followed like the “is she coming out” stuff (because as I have explained Elite Daily told me in 2017 she fucked Karlie Kloss so I was like “why not maybe she’s bi” and while the former has been debunked for me I’m still open to the latter lmao).

I watched Miss Americana the day it came out with Dr Blank Space and we both liked it but hated Only The Young.

I went to watch Cats in part because it seemed so bad and in part because of her and the thirst lol.

And then folklore came out and I REALLY liked it and I’d been following Kaydom as a conspiracy watch hobby like my glass bubble earth people also and TTB was annoying me so I made a blog.

So this is a REALLY LONG ANSWER but I don’t have like a neat one lol because she’s legit been on my radar since 2007 but this is my first Swiftie blog and I’ve defs done a lot more like ~studied~ research on her in the last year than at any other point in those 14 years. I will say, as I’ve also said before, when Love Story TV video opened with “we were both young when I first saw you” I did get v emotional because WE REALLY WERE.
