have a complaint and i don't know how to word it exactly... but i hate girl math. short hair is allowed if you wear makeup or dresses. dressing masc is allowed if you have long hair. you are absolutely never ever allowed to be unshaven no matter what. you can be fat if you dress fancy all the time. you are allowed to not wear makeup if you wear big earrings and dresses or if you are a hippie/boho/travel/hiking girlie. long and painted nails are preferable but short is acceptable if you do any of the other things. nearly all of this is acceptable if you are a mom but you will be made fun of and told you aren't attractive anymore. you can be alt if you wear makeup and lots of jewelry. and on and on and on.

i have short hair and wear a lot of men's clothes and i don't shave and i am a bit chubby and i don't wear makeup and i have short nails and in theory i would be alt (but i really don't think i come off that way) and it's just. isolating.

last night my friends and i went to what is ostensibly the gay bar strip in stl and i didn't see a single person who looked like me all night. i had a good time and wasn't like overly self conscious or anything but i just keep looking for anyone like me and there was just. no one. in the one place where i feel like i should see people like me and they just aren't there.
