Poe who kisses you soft and lovingly, trailing from your neck to your jaw until giving you sweet kiss on the lips. He's also the type to give forehead kisses. Your face held gently in his hand as he press a soft kiss to your forehead before resting his head on your shoulder, whispering a little "I love you" in your ear.
Howie who hugs you so tight, spinning you around before finally kissing you. He can't help but get so happy when he sees you! His kiss is the type that gives you butterflies no matter how many times you've done it. Afterwards he'll wrap his arm around your shoulder before talking about his day and asking about yours.
Tess who on some days gives you passion and some days gives you sweetness, on both occasions it always ends up with you giggling as she continues to pepper you with kisses. She might even give you some nibbles here and there, whether it be on your ear, cheek, jaw, neck, or shoulder just so she can kiss it afterwards.
Another set of Fictif redesigns: Poe (Roadkill) and Calysta (For the Love of Gods)
Poe was a bit tricky to think of ideas for as I'm not well versed in the summer horror films his character is set in. I made him a little lankier to avoid being generically fit, and kept the academic aesthetic but with a bit more gothic elements and references to ravens for the Edgar Allan Poe thing
In contrast, I changed Calysta a lot. First, I had to give her bigger muscles because I love buff women. I also gave her stone skin and the thick leather belt to add to her title as the goddess of strength. I associate strength with stone, elephants and similar large herbivores, and gentle fortitude. Inhuman-looking gods are excellent as well, and it's why Astrellio is one of the best designs, so I had to go with that
thinking about how batshit i thought howie’s amnesia ending was before i played poe’s route… looking back, it’s still crazy but it’s not, like, “my uncle that got turned into a poodle by an evil magician has decided to remain a poodle in the afterlife because he likes it actually” crazy
whoever made that Poe Colestead fanfic in like 2021 about Poe and Y/N being rivals in college and they went on a date to a coffee shop. I’m begging on my hands and knees. Groveling at your feet. PLEASE FINISH IT ITS BEEN TWO YEARS I CAN’T TAKE THIS
But when they're smart, hot AND dead? Ugh so my type😩
I love them both so much
They just both so happen to be the brain of the group who never fought a day in their life and is a clumsy flustered mess but because of unforeseen circumstances they are forced to grow up and face the disastrous world with no one but themselves and their friends. But unfortunately fate isn't on their side and they end up sacrificing themselves for the people they love
I have like 4 chapters left of Howie's route in Roadkill and then I'll be done with every single (free) story on the fictif app lmaoo. I might do a ranking of all the stories idk I'm feeling the urge to judge all the internal choices made by nix hydra while publishing these stories lol
What are you favorite and least favorite design tropes in fictif and/or general dating sims after playing so many of them?
Going to sound contradictory, but hear me out; I really like the tall buff characters (especially if they're women), but I'm tired of every character in a dating sim needing a six pack and being over 6 foot. Not every character needs to be a chiselled adonis
As in any character design but especially for dating sims you should use different body types to provide contrast and variety. That way you get a wide range of appealing characters and get to communicate to your audience about a specific character the same way you use clothes, hair, and facial features.
eg. Poe and Sergio don't need to be muscular. They're a writer and lawyer (not essentially active occupations) and it weakens Howie and Chava's impact as a jock and physical labourer because their musculature is just "standard" rather than examples of their effort. In contrast, Felix is slender and short. Not only does this communicate his less active scholarly/magic role, but it makes Sage's scarred and musclebound body even more notable.
Yes, people can be muscular for hobby/health/vanity but it's boring and uncreative to make it a default, not even going into the whole "unrealistic body standards" thing.
Also I'm a big fan of dark brown eyes so another least favourite design trope is the lack of dark brown eyes. They're pretty, gosh darn it! Give me more!
