THEME DESIGN: #001 [ catch ]

Started as a project to redesign an old theme mockup of mine. This is not a current functioning theme, it has yet to be built. Geared more toward artists. Originally was going to be more pokemon inspired, but got adjusted over time. The posts are just placeholders.

so the bright side of not being able to sleep is that you occasionally get something done in one sitting in a reasonable amount of time

ramble because i'm thinking of mpn arena mode. more under the cut lol

thinkin about how the player character might feel about doc and how that could change from loop to loop

logically, they know doc is doing what's best for nevada, and that maybe they should be more upset with the maker and the machine and everything else, but these are beings they rarely get to see and reach.

sometimes it feels like the best they have is to project their rage at the closest person they could find who has even an ounce of understanding and knowledge of what's going on, seems unopposed to letting it happen, and is being vague to the point of being unhelpful at times

an unknown amount of loops later, the player and doc are sitting in that damned bus again, in a new body again, and they can't look doc in the eye. doc tells them to spit it out. all the player can do is break down into tears and beg for his forgiveness and doc is shocked and can't understand why

they remember the last loop, and maybe the one before that and the one before that. they remember how they turned cold and cruel to doc, sharp and bitter, maybe once to the point of almost killing him right then and there. the combined strength of all their recruits, hirelings, and employees couldn't rip them off of the guy. they remember the confusion, the fear, the betrayal

but why does doc get to feel that and not them? how many times have they done this now? how many times did doc recognize that they were aware of what was going on?

isn't it so cruel to let it happen anyway? isn't it cruel to force them to go through the same missions a million times over just so they could get to the end of it and sacrifice themself? doc doesn't just give them an endpoint, he made them build the entire path for it too

they know doc is in many ways just as powerless, but it feels good to have someone they can blame

but here in the bus where everything can start anew, the realization of what they've done hits so hard that they refuse to be near him at all for a long time

but then that loop passes and the next one passes and the one after that passes, and that rage is back.

then more loops, and it vanishes. again and again and again just like everything else

they're sure one day it'll be the end of them

II would totally be competent in the kitchen, maybe even bossy, definitely the type to purposefully micro manage your every move until you make the executive decision to just sit back and let him cook for you because he doesn't like sharing the kitchen

Working on my javascript for my web page. Turns out I have the perfect kind of setup to accomplish some of the project requirements, specifically with even handlers and user interactions

My website, conceptually, will load a different employee details page depending on what employee name is clicked on. But I need to load it dynamically (instead of hard-coding it) so that the user can add or delete employees & it'll be able to still load the relevant shit.

So! Only one employee details page, but depending on how it's loaded, it'll load a different employee's information. Still working on getting down Exactly how to do it (I'm thinking using URL parameters that'll read a different object depending on what ID is used)

It's entirely doable. In fact, it's probably extremely common to do in web pages. No one wants to hard-code information for every new object. Of course not. And thus the usefulness of dynamic javascript stuff.

Ready to Start?

You'll need a few things to get started and a little bit of time. To start, you'll need some sort of space to work with. For my personal herb tower I'm using stackable planters that are around 1.2 sq ft (14 inches i think) + 5 in deep. [ These from dollar tree specifically ] I recommend a place that has at least partial sunlight available. If you live in an area with no outside space, you can place this near a window + add a grow light if you need. I also use fish fertilizer which is completely optional but recommended, as it can help grow strong, fruitful plants. The amount of plants you have will primarily depend on your vertical space available.

I have ~ 6ft worth of vertical space (which I'll need a step stool to tend to) and I plan on using it. My planters are about 5 inches tall, which means I can fit a maximum of fourteen of these planters. But I'll only be doing twelve so that the plants have a little bit of room at the top of the stack. That means, in total, I will have 36 "pots" for plants. The downside is, the plants will grow outwards and up, which means I can't have big plants.

Choosing seeds can be a little frustrating when you're new to this. For simplicity sake, we'll say you have around the same amount of space that I have. Since this is an herbal oasis, we'll focus on that.

One thing I absolutely recommend is marigold (edible variety means brownie points) because it's a wonderful pest repellent. It also helps the bees out, so! Marigold is good.

You can use the list provided in the image or you can come up with your own list of things to plant. Personally, each "tier" will get three of the same plants. Otherwise I forget what I planted where. If you have a lot of vertical planters, get a plant caddy so it's easy to rotate and move.

I do recommend you spend a little time learning which plants need the most sun / water but otherwise gardening is fairly straight forward. If something is wrong with your plant, you will know. The leaves will change or wilt, the plant will stop growing, etc. And remember, you can always try again.

i honestly dont really have a lot of complaints about using capcut (besides the. rampant ai integration but thats not really a feature flaw) bc the only other editing software ive used in my life is iMovie of all things but one thing i do kind of wish they had is like. an intensity slider for effects because why does everything have to be the most intense flashiest version of itself forever. fuck???
