"nope, no thank you!" the words were quick to come out of the blonde as she walked, head not daring to turn as she saw the figure in her periphery. it was, as it had been for years, an immediate response when just about anyone approached her in the street, especially under the cover of darkness. one could never be too careful, even if it was just on the short walk out to the car that was waiting for her. "i said, no thank you." finally head did turn, mostly fuelled by a frustration of her first instruction having been ignored, the figure still keeping pace towards her. only then, did eyes recognise the person before her. "oh. hello, finley."

Summary: Of course Bob has a family. It was obvious. Phoenix knew that that and did everything in her power to ensure he got back to them. So, she had to meet his wife and son.
A trip to the Hard Deck gives his son a new fascination and his wife a chance to reconnect with an old college...friend? Boyfriend? Whatever, it doesn't annoy Bob at all.

Top Gun: Maverick, Robert "Bob" Floyd Masterlist - here
└─────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───────┘
Phoenix knew Bob had a family. He hadn't said anything but she knew. His lockscreen was of a pretty girl with a little blond boy who had to be around six months old in her arms, the pair smiling at the cameraman in the way her mother and her would look at her father.
And up in the sky, he kept two photos in his station. That same pretty girl in a white dress resting her head on the suited shoulder of a very dapper looking Bob. Next to that was a sonogram.
It was clear. Clear as day. He didn't need to say anything.
Part of Nat wanted to somehow convince her backseater to go home, to not put his life on the line and ensure that he lived to see his son grow up. Especially after the bird strike. She wanted to grab him by the shoulders and yell, "Go back to your wife, you fucking idiot."
But she couldn't do that. One, that's overstepping boundaries. And two, it was Bob's choice. He could've walked away when he heard how dangerous it was. He didn't. Bob knew the risks so this must've been his decision.
Therefore, Lieutenant Trace made it her personal mission to get Lieutenant Floyd back to his family. And she did. After Nat sets her mind to something, she uses all of her focus on getting it done.
Once all was said and done, Bob found himself alive and dancing stupidly as Maverick and Rooster landed safely. In all the cheering and revelry, Bob pulled his friend into a huge bear hug, which was something she never expected, and thanked her profusely for taking such good care of him. Then they both just stood there like fools and laughed like loons until everyone eventually calmed down.
"Nat, uh, are you going to the Hard Deck later?" Bob asked as they waited to dock, nudging his shoulder into hers.
"Probably. Are you?"
"No. The second we get to land, I'm running - and I mean running - to see my wife. And Finley, my son." He got his phone out of his pocket and handed it to her so she could have a proper look at his lockscreen. "I understand if you'd rather spend tonight with everyone else, but do you want to meet them?"
Weirdly, outright admitting that he family was like a weight being lifted off his chest. It's not as if it was a secret in any way. He didn't try to hide the fact. Honestly, he doubted that his colleagues would care one way or another.
But now? After everything they'd been through together, he knew Phoenix cared. She wouldn't show it on the surface, but he could read between the lines. They were more than coworkers. They were friends now, and friends that ensured the other's survival. And while it was unlikely either of them ever talked about their feelings, they understood. They were there for each other, no matter what.
"You know I'm going to hit on your wife, right? She's hot," Nat teased him, laughing when he pretended to punch her.
Her voice got softer as she focused on little Finley. "He looks like you. Has the same eyes, same hair..." she murmured.
She saw Bob watching her, too, with a softness in his eyes. A longing to be back with them. To be holding his family again.
A tiny pair of hard plastic specs were placed on the boy's nose in the photo, causing Nat to tease, "Same eyesight, clearly."
"Finn sure looks like me, but he's chatty like Y/N, not that he can speak yet. He tries, and he tries an awful lot."
A chuckle escaped Bob's lips as he thought about the happy sounds of his son's babbling.
"And be warned, he will attempt to bite your nose. We don't know why. Every new person he meets, one second he's sitting quietly, the next, he's up on his feet and trying to take a nibble at their snout."
"Weird," Nat hummed in amusement.
Just as Bob said, as soon as they docked and could see their families, he drove them to the apartment his family stayed in whilst he was in Fightertown. The second the front door was open, a very distinct batch of high pitched giggles and the clumsy pitter patter of two tiny feet coming towards the aviators could be heard.
Finley, armed with a tiny fistful of 'Welcome Home' balloons, bounced towards his father and launched himself at Bob's legs. Bob dropped his backpack and scooped the baby up and gave a big squeeze.
"Hey, big guy!" he greeted cheerfully, kissing the top of Finley's head. The small boy looked up at him through his glasses and bumped his nose against his father's. "These balloons for me? Or are they for Phoenix?"
"So this is Phoenix?" Y/N chirped as she leant against the kitchen doorframe, looking down into the foyer with a huge smile. She pushed off to join them and immediately offered Phoenix a hug, which was accepted without hesitation. "Lovely to meet you. I've heard so much about everything you do, he tells me over dinner how you keep him in check."
Sincerely, as sincerely as she could make it, Y/N took Nat's hand and gave it a squeeze. "Thank you for taking care of my Bo."
Natasha smiled fondly before nudging Bob and jeering, "Bo, huh?"
"Shut it."
"You wouldn't believe my surprise when I found out that this dork has a supermodel for a wife," Nat flirted with a knowing smirk. Bob chuckled and shook his head in disbelief as Y/N waved off the compliment with a loud snort, but there was no denying how her cheeks grew a little pinker.
"Do you two want me to give you some space? I'll just step into the other room so I don't have to get cucked right in front of my and my son's eyes," Bob joked as he looked between the pair, swaying his son in his arms in long soothing motions. He beamed at his wife and asked, "Am I going to get some lovin' or what?"
Dropping Nat's hand after a quick pat on her knuckle, Y/N stood on her tiptoes to give Bob a chaste kiss on his lips. "You're gonna get plenty of lovin'," she promised, grinning cheekily and mimicking his accent.
Every time his parents kissed, Finley felt the need to get in there and surged his head forward. And, like usual, he fully headbutted the pair. It had happened so many times, yet the couple were never ready for it and both let out groans of pain and annoyance as he made contact, only to laugh afterwards.
"Oh, I missed ya too, munchkin," Bob cooed before gently putting Finley back on the floor. The tyke quickly ran into the living room, his father's balloons still in his hand, and began climbing onto the couch where his toys were eagerly waiting for him.
"That happens way too often," Y/N told Nat, smiling as she placed a kiss on the point of injury on Bob's nose. "How do you take your coffee, Phoenix?"
There was an ease of domesticity to their interactions which Phoenix found utterly captivating and adorable. She wasn't used to it. She wasn't used to casual affection, intimacy, even. Not from anyone, really. Her upbringing had been rather strict with its rigid social expectations as a lot of military families happen to be. Her parents never did anything casually and it felt odd to feel so relaxed in a home she'd never stepped foot in before.
"Black. One sugar."
As Y/N disappeared into the kitchen, Natasha looked around the apartment, her gaze stopping on one of the many frames lining the walls. A prom picture of very young and nervous looking Bob had his cheeks being teasingly pinched by Y/N, his face scrunched up as she laughed at him, was the first she really noticed.
Next to that an image of the pair when they were even younger, six, maybe seven. A wide grin stretched across tiny Bob's face as he posed in a fighting stance, clad in his Halloween costume, which was the blue power ranger - next to an equally fierce Y/N as she posed as the pink ranger next to him.
"Childhood sweethearts, huh?"
Bob nodded as he watched his son playing with his toys in the corner of his eye. "Yeah, I've been in love with Y/N since I knew what love was, probably even before that," he confessed with a chuckle. His smile grew even softer as he added, "Took a while for me to tell her, and I mean a while. Two and a half decades, actually."
Natasha raised an eyebrow at him. "Two whole decades?!" she repeated in disbelief.
"I'm a nervous guy, okay?"
The aviators had a laugh at his expense, but had to cut it short as Bob quickly had to walk over to Finley to get him to stop trying to eat the corner of the coffee table. "What are you doing, you little freak?" Bob jeered at his boy, swooping him up in his arm and tickling him in retaliation until he let out a squeal of laughter. "Ahh, you're lucky I love you, little freak."
Finley reached his little hands out for his dad, trying to grab the fabric of his shirt as he wriggled desperately against Bob's grasp to escape the tickle attack. He was completely oblivious to Nat's amused expression as she observed the scene unfolding before her.
"I think he was born to be a dad," Y/N said as she appeared beside Nat with two cups of Joe in hand. She handed one to Natasha with a fond smile on her face, beaming as Bob began blowing raspberries on Finn's stomach. The little boy was practically hysterical as he kicked his legs frantically.
Y/N couldn't help but giggle as she watched Bob, and then turned to look at Nat, who was shaking her head in silent laughter at the scene. "Yeah, he seems to be pretty good at the whole thing," Nat agreed softly. She held the hot mug between her hands and brought the rim to her mouth to take a sip, sighing appreciatively as she felt warmth spread through her body.
After the day both Nat and Bob had, they needed any sort of comfort.
"Go, sit, sit," Y/N encouraged with a gesture of her hand and moved to place her coffee down on the coffee table. Then, almost like magic, she reached into her back pockets to retrieve two juice boxes, cooing as she held them both out to Bob, "One for Finley. And the other for dada."
Father and son looked identical as they slurped on their juice, side by side, and Phoenix almost thought Bob had been dolly the sheeped. It was spooky how similar the two looked, but it was definitely more on the cute side of things.
It was like Y/N knew that talking about the mission and everything it entailed would be distressing. The aviators needed some time to cool off before they had to deal with the fact that, yes, they could've died today. Watching a cute little baby was the best way to do that, it seemed.
Once he was finished with his juice, Finley finally noticed that Nat was there. He dramatically showed that he'd finished his drink to his mother and, in the process of looking at the other sofa, saw that there was another person there. A new person. A person he'd never seen before. A stranger.
Someone who was watching them with a warm smile. A friend, obviously. A gasp escaped Finley's lips as he put down his empty juice box on Bob's lap and scrambled down to the carpet so he could run at Phoenix, his excited squeals filling the room as he threw himself at her knees.
"You're definitely not as shy as your papa," she joked, lifting the boy so he could sit on the sofa next to her. He didn't stay seated for long and jumped up to stand on her thighs and rest his chin on her shoulders, gazing at the new girl with big curious eyes.
"Nose bite in 3...2...1," Y/N counted, and as both parents expected, Nat was promptly nipped on the tip of her nose by an eager child, giggling happily. Nat laughed as she rubbed the area.
"You little menace!" she whined playfully, giving Finn a playful tickle behind his neck and earning a delighted shriek, making him roll on the cushions as he laughed loudly.
Watching his new best friend interact with his son, Bob let out a happy sigh and placed his head against Y/N's shoulder. She gave him a loving peck on the temple and let her cheek fall to his hair. They sat quietly for a moment or two, enjoying the quiet atmosphere, each lost in their own thoughts.
Then, Natasha's phone made a noise. A ringtone that made it very clear who was calling her. The distinct sound of cockerel blared from her cell.
"Rooster?" Bob asked, raising his eyebrows questioningly.
"Yeah, mind if I take this?"
"Go for it."
Getting up and away from the boy seemed to be a task, but when Y/N cooed, "Finn...Finn, baby, what's mama got here? Is it chocolate?" Nat was free since, all of the sudden, the boy shot out of his seat and immediately rushed towards her. She lifted him onto her lap and reached for the mostly eaten packet of chocolate buttons they kept on the coffee table for moments like this, moments they needed something to bribe with.
"Does daddy get any?" Bob pouted in a fake pout, leaning forward slightly and resting his elbows on his thighs as he looked between his wife and son. Finn just grinned at him as he stuck his hand into the packet, offering one button to his father and intending to eat the rest for himself.
Bob took the treat and popped it into his mouth without hesitation as Y/N shook her head with a light blush. Finley looked up at her curiously, as if he was asking if she wanted a button too.
"Can mommy have a button?"
A chocolate button was soon being squished at her mouth, much to Finn's delight, as Y/N chuckled softly and accepted the offer. "Good boy, you're so good at sharing," she praised before she pressed a quick kiss to Finn's forehead and passed the packet back over to Finley who immediately started stuffing his face with the remaining sweets.
All too soon, the chocolate had run out and Finley was not happy about that at all. Y/N could tell just by his face that he was seconds away from crying, so she gently lifted him so he was resting his head against her shoulder and swayed them slowly together in a soothing rhythm.
Nothing in the world beat the sight of his family to Bob.
Before the baby came along, the couple would usually be already in bed and up to less innocent things. It always went that way. Bob would get home and immediately throw Y/N over his shoulder and carry her upstairs. Now that would have to wait until their son was firmly asleep.
Yet, Bob was completely fine with that. He'd hold out for a few hours if that ensured he got to see Finley's happy little smile.
"Rooster heard the words 'baby Bob' and demanded that I try to convince you guys to come with me to the Hard Deck," Phoenix explained as she returned, slipping her phone into her back pocket as she moved to sit back down.
Y/N glanced over at her husband as if to say 'up to you' and Bob nodded with a hearty, "Why not? Rooster gets whiny when he doesn't get his way."
"You should've seen him the other day when Maverick beat him at darts again," Natasha told him as she sipped from her coffee cup and glanced around. "He played a Wham! medley on the piano because he knows Pete is not their biggest fan."
And that was one of Brad's tamer days.
"Wanna go see Rooster, bud?"
Even though he had no idea what the hell a Rooster was, Finn nodded at his father.
After gathering a quick necessities bag and Bob ensuring that the car seat was in fact placed properly - which was something he did every car ride and found the same result every time - the squad was making their way to the bar. Nat had to be relegated to the backseats, a rare thing when it came to her and Bob, and she couldn't help but feel awkward when the child locks ensured that Y/N had to open her door for her.
Bradley was eagerly waiting for their arrival. He was good with children and he knew it. So was it any surprise that the moment Finley saw the Hawaiian shirt clad pilot, he was thoroughly starstruck? No, it wasn't.
"Who is this little dude?" Rooster chirped from his seat at the piano bench, waving his hand towards Finley as the kid approached him with his arms opened wide to give a tight hug. Once Rooster received him, he swooped Finn up into his arms. "Hi baby Bob."
Finley smiled brightly, babbling away with a smile as he clung onto Rooster's shirt, his small fists holding onto it tightly. The three other adults were waiting for the inevitable nose bite, but it never came. No, the young blond just stared up at Rooster with sparkling blue eyes, staring at him like he was a superhero.
"Finn, this is Rooster, you know like the -" Bob was interrupted.
"Wroo."
Honestly if it hadn't been so cute, Bob and Y/N would've been jealous. There had been no Mama. No Dada. But there had been a Roo. Finley's first word honour had been given to Bradley, a man he'd just met over his parents. Children are so ungrateful sometimes.
Rooster cheered and playfully waved Finn's arms about in celebration, while Finley giggled excitedly. "That's it kid, I'm Roo. Can you say it again?"
"Wroo!" the little boy cheered, causing a laugh to escape from the others.
"Well, he's clearly found his favourite person," Y/N joked, teasingly elbowing Bob in the ribs. He pretended to be hurt at first, but he couldn't stop smiling and brought his wife into his arms, giving her a kiss on the temple as they observed as Bradley placed the boy on his lap and his hands over Finn's so he could guide him to play the piano.
Just like that, every woman in the surrounding area let out a collective "Aw" as the pair started playing a soft tune.
"Bradley is definitely getting laid tonight," Nat teased as her eyes drifted from woman to woman, all of whom were drooling over the pilot who was clearly a big fan of kids.
And to rile her husband up, Y/N whispered in Bob's ear, "Robert is definitely getting laid tonight too," and felt as a sly hand made its way down to rest on her ass, giving her a small slap as he tried to keep his face as neutral as he possibly could.
One song turned into two, three. Finn just kept wanting more and more, so Y/N offered, "Want a beer, I'll drive home?" as she knew they could be there for a while.
"You sure, darlin?"
"Have fun, baby. You deserve it." Bob kissed her on the lips tenderly. "What does Phoenix and Rooster drink?"
With everyone's orders, she made her way to the bar and ordered, but she never would've guessed to see someone she recognised there. Y/N happened to glance over her shoulder as she waited for the drinks and saw one of her college buddies.
Buddies? Were they buddies? Is that what they were? Y/N honestly had no idea what they were. Fuck buddies who hung out a lot and did more than sex but refused to say that they were anything more than that.
"Hey Seresin!"
Jake had to do a double take. One second he was about to pocket a ball and the next he was being called at by Y/N L/N, someone he hadn't seen in years. "Well, well, well, Y/N, how are you still so fine after all these years?" he greeted with his signature grin, placing the bottle of been nursing down on the bar so he could give her a hug.
"Ah, still a charmer I see."
"No amount of time can stop me from being me, and you! And you, you're lucky to be the object of my affection. Come on, it will be old times!"
Clearly, he was still the same Jake. Y/N brushed him off with a laugh and changed the subject, "I'm guessing you're a pilot now. How was the big, very secret mission?"
Penny arrived with Y/N's drinks and was thanked before Y/N gestured to what Jake was drinking, "Want another?" and placed another bottle in front of him. As Y/N went to pay, Jake caught a glimpse at her left hand. Shit. She was married? Oh well, his celebration plans went out the window.
"How'd you know about the mission?" He glanced at her curiously, bringing his bottle to his lip and took a swig.
"My husband."
"What?"
"Yeah, my husband flew. Actually, he didn't do the flying bit. Phoenix did."
Weird. Cause Phoenix flew with Bob. And... and... and that would make Bob... the penny dropped for Hangman and he had a million questions.
"Baby on board? Baby on board is married to you? That's - that's so fucking weird. I've fucked someone Bob has?!? And he married you? And you married him?"
Snorting, Y/N added, "And we have a kid."
"And you have a KID?"
"Uh huh."
"When did that happen?"
"Finn will be a year old in a month."
Like he'd been summoned, Bob came to see what the commotion was all about. He'd seen Hangman come up to his wife and expected her to send him packing within two seconds, but they seemed to know each other.
"Everything alright?" Bob asked, glancing between his wife and Hangman, who was looking absolutely flabbergasted.
"You didn't tell me you knew Jake Seresin, Bo," Y/N replied as she gave Bob a light slap on the arm.
"Bo? Bo! He's Bo? Robert Floyd is Bo your best friend from back home? Wait! This is your husband?" Pieces of information that she told him so long ago clicked into place. This was Bo, the boy who had her heart.
"Yeah," Y/N grinned.
The look on Hangman's face was pure disbelief. "What is going on? You and him?!?"
Bob glanced over at Y/N in confusion, not understanding what was happening here. "Bagman, the fact you can't believe Y/N would ever go for me is kinda insulting, really."
Jake scoffed as he shook his head in amusement, leaning against the counter to prop himself up. "It's a small world, Bobby." A mischievous grin appeared as he inquired, "How's it feel knowing we have dated the same girl? You should feel honoured."
Horror flashed across Bob's face. He shifted his gaze to his wife, who just shrugged. "College," she muttered, more to herself than anyone else.
"College," Jake confirmed.
Now it was Bob's turn to ask, "You and him?!? Baby, I thought your standards were higher than that." He waved his hands in the general direction of Jake.
Y/N had to hold her laugh back. It was rare that Bob ever got jealous, but the fact that he was annoyed because he didn't think Jake was good enough for her was amusing.
"What? He was an older and more experienced handsome guy that, for some reason, took an interest in me, is that a crime?" she retorted, the humour evident in her voice.
"Yes!" he exclaimed.
"Now I'm feeling insulted," Jake added, pouting slightly as he rested his chin on top of his hands.
Chuckling, Y/N handed Bob some bottles from the counter and encouraged, "Come on, Phoenix is probably waiting on her drink," pushing him in the direction of the piano, only to look over her shoulder and offer, "Hey, wanna meet our son, Seresin?"
Hangman happily agreed, an attempt at being nonchalant attempting to pass his lips only to be replaced by an enthusiastic "Hell yeah."
Though it was tough to get Finley to notice anyone but Rooster, he did eventually meet Jake and was promptly lifted onto his shoulders to show off. "There we go, give me a lay of the land. See any babes that your uncle Jakey would be into?" Hangman cooed as he gently pushed Finley's chubby fingers away from his face and took them into his hands so he could hold onto them to move them rhythmically.
Wrapping her arms around Bob's neck, Y/N laughed at how he still had a slight pout, teasing, "Bo, my love, you're so cute when you're grumpy," and kissed his cheek, which prompted her husband to wrap his arm around her waist and hold her closer to him.
"Baby, I'm still caught up about the fact that you didn't tell me about you and Hangman," he whined.
"I did."
"No, you didn't. I think I would've remembered that, darlin'."
Smiling, she looked at the man she loved so much and rolled her eyes. "I've told you about Jake from college so many times," she explained and let her fingers tenderly brush through the hair at the nape of his neck.
She had. But hadn't put together that Jake from college was fucking Jake Seresin until that very moment.
"Hangman was the one who walked you to class every day?"
"Yeah, until he dropped out halfway through his last year because his mother was sick and he needed to take care of her." Y/N chuckled softly. "I don't know what he's done to make you think otherwise, but the Jake I knew, he was sweet and kind underneath all that frat boy shit."
Bob observed Jake and how he interacted with Finn. The little boy was tugging on Hangman's hair like Remmy with Linguini, each time he pulled the left strand, Jake would veer to the left and vice versa. It was rather cute to watch, and it made Bob realise that, as much as he hated to admit it, maybe Hangman wasn't so bad.
"Why'd you always have to be right?" Bob sighed, but let a small smile take over his face as he peppered her cheek with kisses, each longer than the last, until he finally pulled back and said, "Don't use that against me next time I'm all pouty."
Y/N hummed as she leant in close to him and gave him a soft peck on the lips. "Oh yeah? But I am always right," she murmured playfully, pulling back slowly until he was met with her stare.
"Course you are, honey," he whispered, running his finger along her chin and making sure their faces weren't too far apart, before leaning forward and capturing her lips once again in a kiss that was a little too passionate to happen in public.
They both pulled away when they heard Finn start babbling for attention. "What'd he say?" Hangman grinned.
"Wroo!" Finney shrieked excitedly, pointing at Rooster, who was in the process of talking to a beautiful lady but turned as soon as he was called and politely excused himself to take the boy from Jake's arms.
"That's going to become a problem," Bob joked, but there was truth to his words.
Just like his pa, Finley had a habit of fixating on things. Lego. Paw Patrol. Chocolate buttons. And now, Bradley Bradshaw.
Eventually, it became clear that his evening of meeting so many people began to tire Finley out as his eyes started to droop and his head dropped to rest against Rooster's chest. "I think you better get my BFF to bed," Brad whispered to Bob, earning a nod of agreement from him.
"Okay, bud, you tired?" Bob asked as he hoisted Finley up onto his hip. Finley nodded sleepily, holding onto Brad's shirt tightly. "Roo is going to stay here. Gonna have to say bye bye now. Say bye bye."
Sleepy babbles came out of his mouth with another muttered "Roo" as he very quickly fell asleep against his father's chest, snoring softly, and his tiny fists letting go of Rooster.
Then, after saying goodbye to everyone, the Floyd's were on their way home. The entire drive home, Bob found himself sliding his hand up and down Y/N's thigh as she drove. "Watch how high that hand is travelling, Bo. Our kid doesn't want to wake up to any funny business," she jeered, giving his hand a little squeeze and smiling when she saw his expression change to mock offence.
"I wouldn't dream of doing anything that wasn't PG, Y/N. I'm a sweet, innocent boy who's never done nothing wrong in my entire life. Besides," he leaned in close and whispered suggestively, "I want you all to myself, babe. No interruptions. I want all of your attention," before pulling back and flashing her a flirtatious smile as he sat back in his seat.
And Y/N couldn't help it, she burst into bashful laughter. It bubbled forth and flowed from her throat. There was no point trying to keep it hidden; she simply couldn't resist the urge to give into anything he wanted. After all, what was the harm in giving into the desire to be held and cherished by him?
They'd spent so long pretending they were purely platonic, and that was out of the window now. Being married really put all those feelings out there.
As soon as they got home, Bob carried Finley inside to tuck him into bed. "Night bud," he smiled fondly, kissing the boy on the forehead and turning to leave before announcing, "Love you, baby Bob."
With their child dealt with, Bob found his wife in their bedroom. When he entered, he stopped dead in his tracks and simply stared at her. She was sitting on the edge of the bed in nothing but her lacy lingerie, a smile playing across her pretty red lips as she teased, "You gonna stand there gawking at me all night?"
He shook his head to bring himself back to reality. "No...no. Just...wow..."
"You like? I bought it for tonight."
"Like? Darlin, I love it! God, you're gorgeous," he breathed out and moved towards her, kneeling between her legs so he could kiss at her thighs and then work his way upwards.
She reached to touch his hair, stroking it gently before caressing his cheek as she replied, "I thought you might. That's why I did it," and giggled when Bob groaned against her skin, unable to stop himself from sucking a mark on her inner thigh.
Pushing the leg that he wasn't paying attention to further into the mattress, Bob's lips trailed closer and closer to where she desperately wanted them to go. "Fuck," Y/N breathed as she felt his tongue lick her through the thin material of her underwear, just enough pressure to elicit a moan from deep within her chest.
The sound alone made him stop and pull back, beaming brightly at her as he admired her features. "What do you want me to do? Ask and I'll do it," his hands trailed to her hips and he leant upwards to whisper, "But only if you ask nicely."
Y/N nudged her nose against his and murmured, "You can do whatever you want to me tonight, baby. Whatever," and kissed his lips deeply. His hands travelled to undo her bra, allowing him to cup her bare breasts whilst his tongue worked its way into her mouth, stroking the soft sensitive flesh gently before biting her bottom lip, and causing her to whimper into the kiss.
Her arms wrapped themselves around his neck as he pulled herself upwards so that their bodies were flush against each other's, the feeling of his warm skin brushing her own sending shivers racing down her spine. She ran her nails across his back, feeling the muscles underneath his shirt relax under her touch and he groaned lowly in response.
Rather abruptly, he sat up, yanked his shirt over his head, tossing it to the floor where it landed on the heap of her discarded clothes, and patted his lap. "You're in that kind of mood, huh?" she commented, giving him a sweet kiss as she bent over knees and prepared herself for the spank she knew was coming her way.
Obviously, they couldn't make that much noise but the smack to her ass wasn't exactly quiet. Bob gently caressed her reddening skin directly after it happened, smirking as he noticed the way her breathing grew shallower, the way her eyes fluttered closed and the way she bit her lip so she wasn't too loud.
"You ever let Jake bend you over his knee and spank you?" he asked, more jealousy than he would've liked in his tone, and she merely chuckled lightly before rolling her eyes.
"...Robert."
"Sorry, sorry. I just can't wrap my head around it, that's all."
He rubbed gentle circles on her lower back as he waited for her to respond and soon, she craned her head back to look at him. Her lips curved into a smirk as she watched him, amused by how serious he looked. To apologise, he leant down and softly kissed her shoulder.
Yet, it didn't take long before his hand was drifting back down her butt. His fingers hooked around her panties and pulled them off to the side so he could run along her folds teasingly and slowly dip his middle finger inside her entrance. He pumped it in and out slowly, enjoying the way that she squirmed and writhed beneath him.
Bob took his time to tease her and watch her face closely. As her lips parted and eyes widened, he curled his finger in deeper and faster and cooed, "That good, hmm?" She moaned and nodded, gripping onto the covers beside her as his name rolled past her lips. "Oh yeah, baby? You like that, darlin'? Does it feel good?"
His voice sounded thick with lust and need as his other hand brushed some hair that had fallen across her face, pushing it back behind her ear before it was trailing down to grasp her breast. She gasped sharply when he dipped another finger inside her, the sensation so intense, she could feel sparks running up and down the length of her body.
"Don't you dare come till I tell you to, babe," he commanded in an authoritative tone that he only tended to use when he was in the sky. And she couldn't deny how that voice would send her further towards the edge every time he used it.
At the exact moment her legs began to shake, he withdrew his fingers and rested them against her ass cheek. "You're so mean, Bo," she whined playfully, pouting as her eyelids fluttered shut and her head dropped down to the duvet
Then he edged her again and again and again. Tears collected in the corner of her eyes as she gripped the sheets tightly, feeling so incredibly sensitive and needy. "Stand for me," he instructed, and she obliged without hesitation although she was a little wobbly because of the pleasure he caused her. "Good girl."
Before he got up to manoeuvre her into position, he tugged her hips towards him to kiss her across stomach and all over her pregnancy stretch marks. Nowhere in Bob's brain did he understand why she was a bit self conscious of them. Not only did they look like little lighting bolts, but it was a reminder of their son and how he'd been that bun in her oven.
"Beautiful," he said, pressing light kisses over one stretch mark and grinning proudly when her cheeks flushed pink before moving to cover another one. "God, I hope Finley has your looks when he grows up."
Y/N snorted. It was already very clear who he'd grow up to look like. "I doubt that. Maybe we'll have to make another one for that hope to come true," she beamed, tracing her forefinger down his cheek and gazing lovingly at his handsome face that seemed to get brighter with every word she spoke. "Maybe we should try for a girl."
Another kid? Bob felt like it was Christmas again. "Yeah?" he grinned at her and got even more excited when she nodded. "Well, what are you waiting for? Bend over the side of the bed."
So, Y/N did as she was told and was rewarded with another spank as Bob stood behind her, his palm trailing up her thighs to rest on her waist as he removed the remainder of his clothes in a hurry, lined himself up with her entrance and gave himself a stroke before pushing inside of her.
"Ah, fuck," he groaned as Y/N's walls clenched around him, holding fast even though they'd barely started. "You can come as many times as you want to," he whispered breathlessly as he tried to calm himself down. "Let me just find my rhythm."
With how hard he'd riled her up, it didn't take long before she was gushing, her whole body writhing beneath him. Her cries rang out into the plush duvet as her legs trembled violently and she arched her back, but Bob didn't stop. He kept driving in and out of her, loving the muffled sounds she was making with each thrust.
"Good girl, you made such a big mess. Can you feel yourself dripping down your thighs?" Bob purred, leaning over to kiss the back of her shoulder as he continued to drive in and out of her while she shook beneath him.
Honestly, nobody had ever satisfied her like Bob had. He knew her and her body so deeply that it was easy for him to bring her complete bliss.
"It's a blessing really, all that slick on my cock makes it so easy - so, so easy - to fuck you right," he mumbled, nuzzling the side of her face and inhaling deeply, relishing in the feeling of having her wrapped around him completely. Y/N cried out in surprise as he pushed into her even deeper than he already had, the pressure overwhelming and making her lose all the brain cells she had once had.
And Bob knew that as soon as he asked, "Feel good, baby? Huh?" She answered with a whine that told him everything he needed. "Oh darlin, I've fucked you stupid already? That's got to be a record."
A low groan slipped past her lips as he stopped for a moment to shift her further onto the bed so that plant his knees on the duvet and pound into her with his front flush to her back. Every possible bit of his skin was touching hers as his body possessively held her down; his hands finding hers, holding them securely against the mattress as he continued to thrust into her.
"Sorry babe, I'll pay for some more," Bob grunted as he pulled back to rip her lace panties as they had begun to move around and it was annoying him to no end. Once they were gone and promptly thrown over his shoulder, Bob got back at it and teased, "Felt you clench, did that turn you on? It did, didn't it?"
She hummed in agreement, biting down on her lip so she wouldn't cry. The sound sent a spark through his veins, igniting the fire burning through his gut, causing him to become wild and impatient as he began to thrust hard, slamming into her harder and faster, losing control of his own body in pure primal hunger.
"Look at you," he cooed, smiling devilishly as he brought his hand to her neck and gently tilted her head to face him. She looked dazed and dumb, tears streaking down her face, her lips swollen and red from all the biting she'd done to them. Her hair was sticking to her sweaty forehead and he loved watching her in such a state.
He wanted nothing else in the world than seeing her look exactly how she did right then; beautiful, vulnerable and desperate for him to continue making her feel this wonderful. "You're so beautiful," he uttered between quick panting breaths, stroking her jaw with his fingertips. "All mine. All for me."
The words sent her into a frenzy, her breathing becoming short and fast and frantic. Her body tightened around him as waves of ecstasy washed over her. His movements quickened and soon, he found himself coming undone within her body. Panting loudly as he let out a moan of satisfaction, he buried his face into the crook of her neck and slumped on top of her.
His chest heaved and sweat coated his toned body as he held onto her tight, kissing his way along her collarbone and neck as he jolted along with the beat of his heart until his breathing calmed.
"Holy fuck... Oh fuck…" Y/N whimpered softly, still shuddering slightly under him and he chuckled to himself at how utterly adorable she looked as she tried to get her brain back online and regain some semblance of sanity. "I wasn't too loud, was I?"
"There were no knocks on the door, so I assume not," he answered, kissing down her neck and taking delight in the small gasp she let slip when he nibbled lightly on her skin. Her eyes were glazing over and her cheeks were flushed but there was a hint of a smile playing on her lips which pleased him greatly. "Wanna go again?"
"Give me a minute."
But when Bob rolled his hips once more, she was, once again, like putty in his hand, her mouth opening as she gasped for air.
"What if I can't wait that long?" He laughed as her legs twitched involuntarily underneath him and he got right up to her ear to whisper, "I'm not going to stop until this perfect pussy is filled to the brim with my cum."
It was going to be a long and draining night, that was sure.
In the morning, Y/N stretched to find that Bob was already out of bed. She threw on some clothes and, on achy legs, went in search of her husband. It didn't take long to find him and when she rounded the corner into the kitchen, she found him cooking breakfast in his underwear while Finley sat on the counter, talking to a very sleepy looking Rooster on facetime.
"Hey Rooster," she called out, making her presence known by all three boys.
"Roo!" Finn pointed to the phone and squealed happily when she picked him up off the counter and gave him a hug.
"You do realise he's going to do this every morning?"
From the other line, Brad chuckled. "Yeah, we might have to schedule a time that's a little later if I'm going to be honest." Then he caught a glimpse at a purple bruise on the side of Y/N's neck. "Jesus Bob, you really went for it, huh?"
Bob craned his head around to see what the hell Bradley was talking about, and immediately turned pink at the sight. "Sorry babe," he apologised, although he didn't really feel all that sorry, and gave her a quick kiss before moving back to the sausages he was frying.
"It looks as if you got in a fight with an octopus, Y/N."
"Maybe I did."
Sure, Bob didn't mind sharing information about his family with his coworkers, his sex life on the other hand, that was certainly off-limits. He reached out and happily squidged Y/N's hip as if he was mentally saying "Don't tell him any more or there will be consequences."
Who knows, maybe she'd like those consequences.

austin and me || part four
summary: after presley turns two, austin feels it’s time for her first trip to graceland.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“presley, honey, let’s go!” you called from the front door. she came running into the living room, her stuffed bunny tight under her arm.
“alright, does everyone have everything?” austin asked, meeting you at the door.
“yes, i've quadruple checked our bags, we have everything we could possibly need for the flight. and our suitcases have been fully packed for four days.” you said, matter-of-factly.
“perfect, let’s go.” austin said. you all grabbed your things and began loading into the car. you got presley in her car seat and moved to help austin finish loading the bags. after the last one, he closed the trunk, and pulled into a hug. “you excited?” he asked you.
“very excited.” you said, reaching up to kiss him.
priscilla and riley decided to close graceland, as well as the guest house, to the public for a few days, and they had invited you, austin, and presley to come visit. of course, austin had been there many times at this point, but this would be your first time, and the first time the three of you would be there as a family. presley had just turned two, and you were comfortable traveling with her, so you were quick to accept the invitation. you were excited to be there, and you knew that priscilla and riley would be wonderful hostesses.
upon your arrival to the airport, you quickly got checked in, your bags in order, and moved to find your gate. while you waited to board, you grabbed a bite to eat. the flight was seamless, the three of you actually sleeping for the most of it. once you landed in memphis, jerry was at the airport to pick you up.
“i haven’t driven with a car seat in a long time.” he commented as you were getting presley buckled. your eyes landed on his face, and you could tell that he was missing lisa. you climbed out of the car and hugged him tight. no words were exchanged, but the way he relaxed in your arms, you could tell that he needed the comfort.
“alright, is everyone ready!” he called, clearing his throat. you nodded, and you and austin climbed into the car. jerry drove you to the guest house, where priscilla, riley, and harper and finley were waiting for your arrival. they all embraced you in warm hugs and led you into the lobby of the guest house. they helped you get acclimated and let you have pick of the rooms. everyone dispersed to their rooms, most everyone electing to stay on the first floor. you chose one that had a wonderful view of the pool. once the key cards were ready, you all went off to your rooms to unwind for a bit before dinner.
at dinner time, you wall made you way over to graceland, walking up the winding drive way up to the porch. while you looked around, you couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed at all the emotions and memories you knew this house held. austin was a bit ahead of you, but he turned around to check on you and presley. he noticed the tears welling in your eyes, and a look of concern shrouded his face.
“you okay?” he asked, falling in step with you.
“mhm. just feeling very emotional about being here.” you said softly. austin wrapped his arm around your shoulders and gave you a gentle squeeze.
you all stopped at the porch while riley and priscilla stood at the door. priscilla was hesitant to open the door. you knew that the last time she was here was very emotional, so you all gave her the time and space to compose herself.
once she was ready, she opened the door and you all filed into the living room. it was still set up the way it would be for tours, and priscilla lead you around the home as if she was your personal tour guide. you got to see the living and dining rooms, the kitchen, the jungle room, the tv room, and everything in between.
“this room has always been my favorite.” you said as you stood at the wall of the jungle room.
“ big teddy!” presley called, pointing at the teddy bear of lisa marie’s that sat in the chair in the corner of the room.
“yes, honey, that is a big teddy.” you laughed, following her gaze.
“that was always lisa marie’s favorite chair. she would sit there all the time, listening to her daddy sing in this room.” priscilla said before continuing the tour. your tour remained in the house, before you circled back into the dining room. the table had been set for everyone to sit to dinner, a wonderful meal was prepared and you all took your seats, leaving the chair at the head of the table empty. for elvis.
as you ate, conversation ensued, and everyone was having a wonderful night. after you finished eating, and after getting permission from priscilla, austin took you and presley on a ride in one of the golf carts around the front yard. you sat in the front with presley in your lap as austin drove around the lawn. presley was screaming and laughing, having the absolute time of her life. you and austin were just as ecstatic, having just as much fun as she was.
back in the house, the group had flocked to the window, watching the three of you in the yard. priscilla once again was feeling painfully nostalgic, images of her with elvis and lisa marie, sharing the same moments that the three of you did. austin was the same fun, care-free, always crazy dad that elvis was. you were the same reluctant, but playful mother she was. and presley was the same little girl living her best life as lisa marie was.
“you okay?” jerry asked her, squeezing her shoulders. priscilla snapped back to reality, wiping the tears from her eyes.
“yes. i just see so much of us in them, and i can’t help but get emotional.” she laughed, wiping another tear.
“i know you do. i do too. it hurts a lot, but they’re so good together.” jerry said, hugging her tight.
“i just hope they have a better fate then we did.” she sighed. just then, riley had reached out to her, squeezing her shoulder. priscilla smiled at her, placing her hand on riley’s. they shared a soft smile, both knowing the sentiment they meant behind them.
after a while, you, austin, and presley had gone back into the house with everyone for dessert. after dessert, you were helping riley in kitchen, cleaning the dishes and putting up the leftover food.
“thank you again for having us. this home is so beautiful.” you said to her.
“it’s very special. i feel so close to my mom here. it makes me feel like i have her here with me again.” she said to you.
“i’m sure. she was so wonderful towards austin and i. she was a remarkable woman, and im so grateful i got to meet her. i know austin will forever appreciate how welcoming she was towards him. i know his missing her will never compare to yours, but he loved her like she was his own mother.” you said to her.
“and she loved him like she was her own. she was so appreciative of how much care he took of his elvis portrayal, and i know that meant a lot to her. she praised him all the time.”
“i know how much that meant to him.” you said with a smile. just then you felt a pair of arms wrap around your legs. “hello, my love.” you said, scooping presley up into your arms.
“she looks just like you.” riley said with a smile, brushing a piece of presley’s hair behind her ear. "i couldn't tell which of you she looked most like the day she was born, but she's definitely grown into her mother's daughter."
“i always thought she was a perfect mix of the two of us when she was born.” you said. “she definitely kept austin's eyes, but i feel like her face has become softer, like mine, as she's grown so far.” riley nodded in agreement.
“she’s beautiful either way.” riley side, kissing her cheek.
“thank you.” you said with a smile. “tell auntie riley thank you for dinner.” you said, kissing presley's forehead.
“thank you, auntie riley.” presley said softly.
“of course, sweetheart.” riley smiled, patting her head.
“hey, there are my girls.” austin said, walking over to the three of you at the counter. he took presley from you and held her in his arms. “riley, i can’t thank you enough for hosting us. this has been such a wonderful evening, and im so glad that you’ve allowed us to join.” he said to her.
“anytime. you guys know you’re always welcome.” she said. they hugged gently before riley walked out of the kitchen, moving back to her husband and daughter who sat at the table.
“hey, so i want to introduce you to someone.” austin said, turning to you.
“who? i know everyone here.” you laughed.
“just c’mon.” he said, taking his hand in yours. presley was on his hip as he lead the two of you out of the house, past the pool, and over to the meditation garden. you stopped at the edge of area, where the cross stood next to gladys’ original headstone. you were already overcome with emotion at this moment, and you knew that you were about to start sobbing. unknown to the three of you, the rest of the group had followed you down there as well. you walked over to austin, who was kneeling in front of elvis’ grave, presley standing in between his legs.
“this is the man you were named after, sweetheart. this is the man who changed my life, and will always be a big part of yours, mine, and mommy’s life.” he said to her. he read her the inscription that adorned elvis’ headstone, turning to you as he finished. “and this is my beautiful wife, y/n.” he began, turing back to the headstone. he spoke to elvis about you, telling elvis how much he appreciated your support throughout the process of filming the movie, and how amazingly receptive you were of the film.
“i’ve always been a fan of yours, and i feel like austin was the closest thing i’ll get to seeing you live.” you said to elvis. you pressed a kiss to the tips of your fingers, and pressed them softly against his headstone. just then, the wind picked up, blowing the leaves and trees around.
“i think he’s happy to meet you.” austin said with a smile.
he then lead you and presley over to where lisa marie was buried. austin was hesitant to speak at first, as he still missed her so much. you gave him a moment, rubbing his back and holding his hand, as he stood there silently, his hand atop her grave. you heard him sniffle before taking a deep breath, finally ready to speak. he picked up presley again,
“pres, this is lisa marie. you know, she was very important in my life, making sure that i was welcomed into this family. she was so supportive in everything i did in regards to her daddy, that it meant so much to me. and i know that she would’ve loved you.” austin said, poking presley’s belly, causing her to giggle. “she was like a second mom to me.” he said softly.
he stepped to the side and allowed you to move forward to lisa’s grave to give you a moment to speak to her.
“hi, miss lisa.” you said quietly, placing your hand on the top of her head stone. “i know you probably already know this, but i miss you so much. our time together was cut way too short, and i wish you were here to get to enjoy all the wonderful things that everyone has accomplished.” you said, short of breath as you started crying. you felt austin’s hand on your back, immediately feeling at ease. “i wish you could be here to meet presley. your mom says she reminds her of you, and i know you would’ve adored her. she would’ve loved you too.” you finished. you’d become too teary to finish speaking, so austin pulled you into his chest, hugging you tight. you stood there silently, as the wind picked up again. you were sure it was lisa marie this time, saying hi to the three of you.
“gramma.” you heard a voice say. you picked your head up from austin’s chest, exchanging a confused look. you both looked at presley, who was pointing at lisa’s grave.
“what did she just say?” austin asked aloud. as if she understood austin, she spoke again.
“gramma yisa.” she said again, wriggling out of austin’s arms. you knew her use of yisa was just her being a toddler, but your heart sank at the mention of the nickname you knew elvis used to call lisa marie.
presley stood at the edge of the rocks that edged the area of the graves, reaching out to touch lisa marie’s. as her hand placed to the name plate, the wind picked up again, swirling around the three of you.
“gramma yisa is so happy to meet you, sweet girl.” you said, fighting tears. you looked up at the group, who gathered at the other side of the meditation garden, all of them also in tears.
“she’s so happy you meet you.” austin repeated, pressing a kiss to the top of presley’s head.
you all spent just few more minutes at the meditation garden before making your way back to the guest house for the night. you all dispersed from the lobby, going to your rooms for the night. you’d fallen behind, marveling at the staircase in the lobby, the replication of the one that was in the front of the mansion. you still couldn’t believe that you were here, and you couldn’t believe the day that you’d had.
“heavy day, huh?” a voice said behind you. you turned and saw austin walking up to you.
“very heavy.” you sighed, falling into his arms. “where’s presley?” you asked him.
“she’s with harper and finely. i told them she could hang out with them for a little bit before bed.” he said to you. you nodded against his chest. “they’re obsessed with her.”
“everyone is. im grateful that she already has so many people in her life that love her this much. i just hope it stays this way.” you sighed. you felt austin press a kiss to the top of your head before giving your shoulders a squeeze.
“it will.” he began, “for as long as they’ll have us, we’ll always be part of the presley family.”

More To The Story, chapter three.
psycho killer, qu'est-ce que c'est?
Chapter One Chapter Two
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saturday, 4th November 1992.
Finley's perspective
Finley bopped his head along to the catchy beat of 'Psycho Killer' by Talking Heads as he sat up against the headboard of his bed, pondering. It had been about twenty minutes since you had abruptly ended the 3-hour phone call to head to work because you were MAJORLY late. In this extensive phone call, you had discussed many theories about the eerie, suspicious video which you and Finley believed to be related to Tommy's disappearance and had even shown Tommy himself - so you believe -, a shaved head, blindfolded with a bloody nose.
It had approximately been 5 days since Tommy had gone MIA, and during the entirety of those 5 days, the residents of the town had been truly shaken up and skittish. This never happened here, in Drellington- it was just a quaint, isolated town...right?
With an extremely low crime rate and a very trusted and secure police department, it was safe to say that the disappearance of little Tommy Parker came as a huge surprise to the town in its totality.
"So what the hell is going on?" He murmured, pushing his black-framed glasses back up the bridge of his nose, sighing as his eyes squeezed shut.
He was at a loss. How could all of this just be going under the radar? How is it that HE had stumbled across this horrific video and not the police? How is it that your laugh was just the sweetest-
"Finnie Bear!!" a pitchy voice called from downstairs, interrupting his lengthy train of thought. It was his aunt Maureen. "Finnie Honey?! Tea is ready, come n'join us in the dining room!" she continued to call once more, before retreating back to the dining room where she had previously been setting up with knives, forks and plates.
You see, Finley's Mom had never been around- ever since she had skipped town and dumped him on her brother Howard's doorstep carelessly when he was only 4 months old, hoping to finally catch her big break in Hollywood.
He knew remotely nothing about her, and most of the time he was fine with that. Although he got on alright most of the time without thinking about her...sometimes, when he lay awake at night in bed, unable to sleep for whatever reason...he thought about her and why she had to leave him behind, why she had denied the chance to start her new life in California with him.
He never wanted to feel that kind of refusal again, so...he shut most people out. His circle remained fairly small throughout the entirety of his high school experience, with his only friends being from the school band and the computer science club. And in all honesty, he liked it that way. He was happy with the few friends that he did have.
But somehow, even with his aunt, uncle, and friends present in his life...he still felt like a piece of him was still missing, he still felt empty.
Finally deciding to get out of his own head for a few minutes, he decided to get up from his bed and proceed downstairs, shouting "Coming!!"
Tumblr media
He sat timidly at the dining table, his Aunt sitting opposite him with his Uncle Howie beside her. Picking up the knife from the table where it had been precisely put, along with the fork next to it and began cutting into the juicy chicken breast on his plate.
Howard speaks first, "So...who was that girl on the landline earlier? You got a secret girlfriend we don't know about now?" his tone teasing, but definitively curious. Finley nearly choked on the piece of chicken he had in his mouth before chewing it promptly and swallowing. "What girl? I have literally no idea what you're talking about." He questioned with the pitch of his voice coming out higher than usual- a universal indicator that he was indeed, lying.
Maureen's eyes lit up, "A girl!! that's new, what does she look like? where did you meet her-" RRIIINGGGGG!! RRRRIINGGG!! the telephone attached to the kitchen wall began to sound with shrill rings, and in that moment Finley felt as if God himself had spared him from the interrogative questions of his Aunt and Uncle.
"Ooh, let me go and answer that," Maureen voices, excusing herself from the dining table before heading out into the kitchen. "Hayes residence, how may I help you? Oh...pardon? I'm sorry, may I ask who's calling?... Hello?" Maureen places the phone back into place on the wall, her expression puzzled. She approaches the dining room table and speaks, "Someone started shouting at me in Russian on the damn phone, pardon my language- that's odd, right?"
Tumblr media
Finley types away on his keyboard, determined to find some sort of answer as to why RUSSIANS were now calling his goddamn landline. This was BAD, really really bad. What if they had gotten to you? You had watched that video too. "Shit," he muttered, anxiety filled the entirety of his body, taking over.
Suddenly, an idea sparked inside of his head as he remembered that his uncle had set up a recording device on the telephone a few months ago after a scam call centre had cheated him out of $300 which made him extremely cautious when it came to people who called the house.
He needed to get that call, and quick.
The first thing he did, however, was log into AOL and send you a message.
ThisMustBeThePlace is now online.
ThisMustBeThePlace is typing...
ThisMustBeThePlace: Important news!! Call soon, hope you got home okay from work :)
Now, the phone call- and a Russian-to-English dictionary, that was vital in this case.
Tumblr media
Finley practically flies down the flint-coloured carpeted stairs as he proceeds with his mission. Convince Howard to give him the recording of the weird, suspicious call they received at dinner time so he can translate it.
"Uncle Howie!! where are you?" he calls, walking into the living room where he finds only Maureen, sitting leisurely on the ivory floral patterned sofa watching TV whilst stroking the household cat, Eddie, an American shorthair with soft, dense grey fur with black stripes running all across his body. Eddie purrs as Maureen continues to pet him.
"Uhh...hey, where's Uncle Howie?" Finley asks, leaning against the doorframe and awaiting an answer- he inhales deeply, trying to regulate his breathing and catch his breath after running down the extensive flight of stairs that lead from the upstairs floor of the house, to the middle, and eventually to the ground floor.
She smiles tiredly, "He's in his workshop Finnie, he wouldn't tell me what he's doing but it's probably one of those cool science-y things he's planning on teaching the kids at school on Monday. Why? Everything okay?" she answers, eventually glancing away from the television and over to her nephew, concerned.
For context, Howie was a middle school teacher at Drellington Middle. He taught Science. He LOVED science, even. He was extremely dorky- which explains why Finley grew up to be the same, Raised around science, tech and crazy experiments- he really grew to love all things nerdy, all thanks to Howie.
His eyebrows raise, immediately dismissing her concern appreciatively. "Oh! yeah no, I'm okay- just need some help with...physics homework! yeah, that. Are you okay though? You look tired, not saying that in an offensive way of course! uhh-" he stutters, not meaning to come off as discourteous but she didn't take it that way at all, instead, she chuckled sweetly and shook her head.
"Finnie! Don't worry, you're correct in saying I look tired, cause I am! The only thing that's been keeping me awake is Eddie's purring honey, but alas, you're right I am tired, so I'm gonna head to bed n'hit the hay," she retorts, finally getting up from off of the sofa, Eddie in hand. She grabs the remote with her unoccupied hand and switches off the television, then tiredly treads over to where Finley is standing in the doorway.
"Goodnight, Finnie-bear." she smiles, ruffling his chestnut-blondish hair before brushing past him gently and hiking up the stairs.
"Night Maurie." he returns, smiling softly before he makes his way to his uncle's workshop.
Tumblr media
"That last word there sounds like 'найден' which is spelt 'NAYDEN', look that up in there," Howie ordered, before placing the headphones back on his head, and pressing play again.
Finley flicks through the pages of the dictionary hastily, desperate to find the answer.
Yeaahhh, it's a long story to explain how they ended up translating Russian together in his uncle's workshop so I'll keep it short and sweet for you. Sound good? Excellent.
Finley found Howie in his workshop, no surprise there. He was surprised, however, to find his uncle already translating this dodgy Russian phone call by himself.
He just had to get in on this. God, he had so much to tell you later.
Tumblr media
@stveharringtn AAAA chapter 3!! some insight into Finley's day and a little bit of backstory bc who doesn't love a bit of that eh?
OOO secret Russian codes, OOO angst, OOO Finley can't get you off of his mind OOOO.
love you darlings, more to come very soon! xxx

Hey can I request a fic with Jack Grealish? Where Jack and the reader are married and expecting a baby boy. They are thinking about names and she suggests Finley after the little boy Jack met. I think it would be so cute!
You and Jack couldn't have been happier when you found out that you were soon to be parents. Before the wedding it had been something you had talked about a lot and after putting the ring on your fingers you had started to make that thought a little more real until the good news came.
You had found out you were expecting a boy at the check-up, the baby on full display had you joking that it was indeed his father's child. And then your friends had wanted to throw you a baby shower anyway, so you could share the news with all your friends and families.
It had been a unique thrill, somehow it had also made it more real to know the sex and to be able to choose something different that wasn't neutral and good for both cases. You had done it with everything: clothes, teddy bears, even the name.
And speaking of that, it was time to choose one. You had this idea of wanting to paint the name on a wall in the nursery but you still had to decide on the shape, the font, the colour. And you didn't want to try on a random name so the sooner you chose it the sooner you could get to work and the sooner everything would be done.
"How about Mateo?"
"Babe stick to english" Jack doesn't even give you a look as he continues scrolling through the list of names on his phone.
"Oh so no Mufasa?!" you tease him earning an amused look as you pinch his arm.
"How about Finley?" that name clearly catches his attention, it must be because of the meeting he had just a while ago and the personal reasons surrounding it. It's always a pleasure to meet little fans, to see how with a small gesture he can make their day unforgettable and to see their eyes open wide and sparkle with joy just like when he too was a child and was in the same situation.
So when they had asked him to meet this kid he had not hesitated to accept, finding the most congenial time with the commitments he had. And then this most of all would have been a special meeting, because of his family background and the story of someone he loved with all his heart.
And that kid, Finley, had been a pleasure to meet after reading his letter and making him that surprise. He had done his best not to give in to his emotions when he had reminded him of how good of a brother he was and how his eyes had sparkled when he had agreed to have that celebration once he had scored his next goal. He had done his best to give him an unforgettable couple of hours knowing how important that could be to him.
"Finley?"
"Yeah, I mean do you like it?"
"Finley" Jack took some time to think about it, whispering that name and rehearsing over and over how it sounded to his ears.
"I might have had a little help coming up with the name but I like it" you admit as he turns back to look at you.
"Are you sure? I don't want you to make a decision because of what I told you"
"Jack we are talking about my son's name. I'm not so easy to influence"
"You wanted to call him Timon"
"I. was. joking" you start hitting him with a pillow gasping as he laughs.
"But it crossed your mind!"
Jack lets you give him a couple more hits before taking possession of that pillow, settling it behind his back and looking at you triumphantly.
"Listen, I won't hide the fact I cried watching that video of the two of you together - Jack reaches out a hand caressing your back with one of his thumbs gently - and I don't know how to explain it properly... okay I'll try, it's more the way he spoke to you and his life and the constant smile on his face despite everything. I want that for my baby, not to be named after a person but what that person can represent. For it to mean something"
Jack smiles reaching out to you to leave a gentle kiss on your lips, and then on one cheek. "Besides, it was on our list of neutral names"
"No it wasn't" Jack looks at you with an arched eyebrow, confident but careful not to slip up. The pregnant brain can play tricks on you and he has already experienced several breakdowns for that reason.
"Yes it is - you lean over to your nightstand to pick up the papers where you've noted down the names as Jack follows you with his eyes, vigilant that you don't hurt yourself - look" you point your finger at the name you're discussing once you've had a quick look at the list and found it, smiling.
"Nah look at that! Poor Finley squashed in here... and even written with a different pen"
"That's not true!" you try to argue back but a laugh escapes you, Jack shaking his head in amusement before letting go of the papers and slowly positioning himself over you being careful of your belly.
"I'll think about it, but in the meantime let's not close the door on more names okay?"
"Yeah"

As soon as you're both off the bike she brings you in a hug.
“I always have the best time with you.” With one last squeeze she lets you go.
“Same.” You smile before walking away.
You open the door hearing music and water flowing from the upstairs bathroom.
You open the door hearing music and water flowing from the upstairs bathroom.
You begin shedding your clothes entering the steaming bathroom. Wordlessly you flush yourself behind your wife wrapping your arms around her.
She doesn’t say anything which sort of surprises you. Instead Quinn lays her arms over yours bringing them closer. You pepper neck and jaw with kisses making her sigh, laying her head back against you.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ The Following Morning ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“No Y/N-” You jolted up when you had only just sat down. “-don’t sit on the sofas! My mother and your parents will be here any minute now!” Quinn huffed, clearing out the wrinkles your body made.
Usually Judy will stay with Frannie and then when your parents go back home she’ll start splitting her time between the houses. Flying back when she’s ready, or rather when Quinn and Frannie start dropping hints.
“Quinnie, chill the hell out. You’re giving me anxiety and you’re making Y/N tense.” Frannie hissed, rubbing her head.
“What if she decides to stay longer again?” Quinn gulped internally, screaming. She loves her mother, but sometimes she’s a bit much. She just knows Judy and most likely your parents will sense something is going on with your marriage.
“We’ll be honest with her and say she needs to go back with Y/N’s parents.” Frannie shrugs.
“We can’t tell our mother that.” The younger blonde glared at her older sister. Just as your father’s truck drove into your driveway.
You couldn’t help yourself, you rushed outside.
“Hey old man, how was the trip?” You grinned walking up to your father who was stretching his back. You began working on your footwork before throwing a few soft punches. Your dad chuckled before bringing you in a bear hug.
“Hmm, I missed you papa bear.” You smiled breathing in his cologne your mother no doubt bought for him.
“I missed you too kiddo.” Your dad squeezed just a little harder before letting you go as your mother and Judy walked up.
“Momma.” You let go of your dad relaxing into your mothers arms. You could hear Quinn and Frannie walk out with the kids.
“Oooh I missed you sweetheart.” Your mom held you just a few seconds longer before letting you go a bit. “Y/N you feel a little thinner. Have you been eating? You haven’t been overdoing it in the gym have you?”
Quinn internally rolled her eyes at your mothers words.
“Same routine as always mom.” You chuckled looking over at Beth and Finley being tickled and hugged by your dad.
“GG!” Finley smiles, hugging her legs.
“Oh my sweet little Angel! Hello my treasures!” Your mom lifted Finley up, holding her close and letting out a few tears as Finley squealed and giggled in her arms. Soon Judy took Finley and your mom took Beth.
“Oh sweetheart you're growing up so fast!” Your mom whined holding her close.
You look over at Judy who has Finley in her arms. “Hey Judes, I’m glad you could make it out.” You hug her with Finley.
“Oh I just had to come see my sweet grand babies.”
“Thanks mom.” Frannie smiled sarcastically.
“Oh stop it.” Judy playfully smacked her eldest. “Where’s Alex?”
“She is with her father in Arizona this summer.” Frannie reminded her mother.
“Oh yes I forgot.” Judy nodded.
Quinn hugged your father and then your mother before inviting them inside.
“Great work on the front yard champ. Love seeing the handprints.” Your father pats you on the back. “Now show us the house.”
You eagerly guided your parents and mother in law around the house and backyard.
Your family walked back inside while you and your dad stayed in the backyard.
“So what do we have to work on?” Your dad grinned.
You showed your father your shed which had some baby plants growing. You pointed towards the supplies for the treehouse you want to build.
“A treehouse?! Fin is going to love it. She's a little young for it, don’t you think?”
“I figured Beth can use it until she can climb on her own.” You shrugged.
“Good idea, she’s still young.”
You snapped your fingers in thought.
“Oh hey pop you’re never gonna guess who lives across the street from me.”
“Is it M Night Shamalan?” He gasped.
“What? No. Why is he always your guess? He’s not gonna show up anywhere dad.”
“You don’t know that.”
“No it’s Tony Stark!” You chuckled.
“Tony Stark?” He furrowed his brow. “Tony, Tony- Oh my goodness Anthony Stark lives across the street from you?!” He beamed.
“Yeah! He showed me an old photo of you guys.” You showed him the photo on your phone.
“Oh man good times.” He laughed. “Yeah he was a freshman in this picture I wanna say I was a junior.”
“He’ll be at Fin’s birthday tomorrow so you can catch up then.”
“What a small world.” Your father chuckled, handing your phone back. “Well I can’t wait to catch up with him.”
You both lugged the supplies towards the tree in your backyard.
“Y/N Y/L/N, what in the world are you building now?!” Natasha kinked her brow. “And who is this tall drink of water?”
“Hey Nat, this is my dad.” You grinned, walking you and your dad over to the fence.
“Frank, but you can call me Frankie.” He smiled, shaking her hand.
“Natasha but you can call me Nat, I feel like I know you already. This one always has a story to tell me.” She smirked tapping your arm.
“Oh I’m sure.” Your father laughed.
“Where’s Mrs. Y/L/N? I can’t wait to meet her.”
“Oh she’s inside with the girls.” He smiled. Before noticing the small door you made. “Aw Y/N it’s perfect!” He moved the door opening and closing it.
“Isn’t it? We figured it would be easier for the kids plus Beth and Fin like to come over and swim. So what are the two of you building now?” The Russian woman asked.
“Well we’re gonna build a treehouse for my grand babies.” He smiled.
“You’re really gonna do it?” She smirked at you.
“Hmhm, she’s the one that made me do it pop.”
“Good keeping my kid out of trouble!” You furrow your brows at your father. “You have any kids Nat?” Your dad asks.
“No.” She smiles sadly, shaking her head.
Your father nodded understanding.
“Frankie, Y/N, dinner is ready.”
“Oh hun come meet Y/N’s sweetheart of a neighbor Natasha.”
“Oh well hello, hello.” Your mother smiles walking over.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you Mrs. Y/L/N. You’ve raised such an amazing human being.”
“Didn’t I?” Your mom jokes hugging you close. “I like this one Y/N she knows how to give compliments.”
You chuckled.
“Oh please Natasha, call me Sophia.”
“Only if you call me Nat.” She smiled hugging your mother.
“Ugh your hair is so beautiful Nat!” Your mom cooed softly, touching her silky red locks.
“Thank you.” She blushed.
“You know Nat is from Russia.” You are with a lopsided grin.
“Get out!” Your mother gasped. “No wonder! She’s so beautiful Y/N.” Your mom said, now caressing Natasha’s cheeks.
“Okay honey, relax.” Your father Frankie laughed.
“You should see Fin when she’s around her. She loves Nat.”
“Really? Aww Finny’s got her first crush.”
“Fin is just like you were when you were a baby.” Your father chuckled. “When Y/N was Finley’s age-“
Natasha nodded intently listening to your fathers embarrassing story about you. “She had this babysitter named-“ Your father snapped his fingers squinting as he tried to recall her name.
“Ingrid-“ you muttered remembering the green eyed woman.
“She had hair and eyes just like yours.” Your mother nodded adding to the story.
“Anyway this one acted as if she were her girlfriend. She would never show up without flowers or a treat-“
“Dad, come on-“
“What? It was adorable! My little Casanova.” Your mom squeezed you.
“She had red hair like Ariel from The Little Mermaid- No! You know what, I don’t need to defend myself. I was a toddler!”
Your parents began cackling right along with Natasha.
“Hey stop laughing at me!” You glared jokingly at the redhead.
“I’m sorry it’s just so cute!” She laughed.
“Y/N!” This time it was your wife. “Food’s gonna get cold. Hey Natasha.” She waved begrudgingly towards the redhead. “Natty?” Fin’s head pops out behind her mother’s legs.
“Hi cutie pie!” She waves.
“Be right there hun.” You nod to Quinn before she goes back inside.
Your daughter jumps down the stairs running towards the redhead. Natasha leaned down, lifting her up in her arms.
“Hi Natty.” Your daughter said bashfully, playing with her red hair.
“You weren’t joking.” Your mom gasps as they watch Finley bashfully talk to Natasha and play with her hair and ears.
“Nope.” You chuckled as your daughter and the Russian beauty conversed.
Meanwhile inside the house your mother in law watched the scene from inside the house. “I don’t like her.” Judy shook her head.
“You haven’t even met her.” Frannie huffed.
“I don’t need to meet her, it's obvious she wants Y/N.”
Frannie nervously looked over at her sister who was fuming by the stove.
“Mom enough!” Frannie hissed..
“Frannie women with slut red hair always want your husband. Just ask Dolly Parton.” She huffed, waving her hand that held a martini.
“Mom Y/N and Natasha are just friends. She’s married and Y/N wouldn't cheat.” Frannie said more for Quinn than her mother.
“That’s how it always starts. Quinn, keep your eyes open. Russell cheated, Bob cheated on Frannie.”
“What are you trying to say mom? That she’s next?” Frannie exclaimed.
“Yes I am. Y/N has always been a great partner for you Quinn, but that woman next door is looking at her like she brought world peace. All I’m saying is watch them or you’ll be catching them in your bed.”
“Mother!” Frannie gasped.
“That’s enough mom.” Quinn grit. “Y/N is not a cheater. Y/N is not Russell or Bob.”
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ Right Outside ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“Well we better go inside. It was nice meeting you Nat.” Your parents say in unison.
“Jinx!” Your parents smirked at one another.
“There’s a coke inside dad.” You grinned.
Natasha smiled fondly at them before looking over at you recalling the first time you ate dinner in her home. “It was great meeting you both.
Your mother smiles warmly bringing her in a hug before taking Finley from her arms.
“Noooo GG! Natty!” Your daughter whined reaching for the Russian beauty.
“It’s okay, Finny, we'll see each other again very soon. Okay?” Natasha cooed, tapping Finley’s chin dimple.
Your toddler giggled and nodded.
“I’ll take that coke on some ice.” Your mother winks before walking towards the door, your father chasing after her to open it for her.
“I’ll catch up with you later.” You smile walking backwards.
“Later.” Natasha smiled watching you walk back inside to your family.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“Quinn, that was delicious.” Your father smiles.
“It was! Thank you, sweetheart.” You say pecking her cheek softly letting your hand squeeze her knee.
“A bit garlicy.” Judy says, causing your wife to tense up.
“I put the garlic in because it needed it.” Frannie shrugged she didn’t, but anything against her mother is game.
“Well regardless it was very tasty, Quinn.” Sophia smiled warmly.
“Thank you Sophia.” Quinn smiles warmly not acknowledging her mothers dig.
“I'll go grab dessert.” You clear your throat.
“So… Quinn how’s work been?” Your father fills in the silence.
“It’s been great! Started working from home more! I go to the office maybe two or three times a week if that.”
“That’s great.” Frank smiled warmly.
“The neighborhood is so nice!” You mom gushes.
“The neighborhood has been very welcoming.” Quinn nods.
“Beth, I hear you’ve made lots of friends out here.” Your mom smiled warmly.
She smiles swallowing before saying “Monica, Morgan, Billy, Tommy, Lyla, and Cassie!”
“That’s a whole lotta friends kiddo!” Your dad grinned.
“Are you excited to go to school with them?” Judy asks.
Beth’s eyes widen comically as you walk back in with desert.
“Beth, your grandma asked you a question.” Quinn spoke as she pushed her daughter’s blonde hair out of her face.
“Oh yes grandma!” Beth smiled.
“Maybe we can go school supply shopping while I’m here.” Judy smiled.
“Oh Judy you really don’t have to do that-“ you begin.
“No no, I would love to help besides school is what? A few weeks away?”
“What about Alex?” Frannie kinked her brow.
“You can tag along and choose for her.” Judy nodded.
Dammit Frannie internally cursed now she has to shop with her mom.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“Well that went well.” You sighed changing into your pajamas.
Quinn gave you a look.
“Except Judes I know.” You nodded, sighing walking over to your wife who was currently using a facial massager.
“I love her but she’s tiring.”
You nod, bringing her in your arms. You walk her over to the mattress, getting her to lay on her stomach. You straddle her thighs and begin massaging the stress away.
“Can I ask you something and you promise you won’t get upset?” She said with a muffled voice.
“What’s up buttercup?” You ask, chuckling.
“Can you not really show attention to Natasha while my mom is around?”
“Wait what?” You asked, causing her to turn over.
“Please? I know we talked about it but…”
“What’d she say?”
“Just please for my own sake?”
“Okay.” You nod sadly before she brings you in a kiss.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“Mom, pop, it’s time to get up!” Beth whispered.
You and Quinn wake up with a gasp.
“Come on, come on!” She beamed holding balloons and a small wild berry muffin with a candle in it.
You and Quinn nod, getting out of bed. You stayed up all night to create Finley’s jungle themed birthday. Beth begged you both to let her do something for Fin as well. It wasn’t until Frannie suggested she start a tradition the way she had with Quinn.
“Ready?” Beth whispered to you both at Finley’s door. You both nod with a sleepy smile.
Beth began singing happy birthday, awakening her little sister. Finley gasped with a smile.
“Happy birthday Fin!” You all say lifting her up on your lap as you sit on the small twin sized bed.
“My boythday?” Fin yawned, leaning back in your arms.
“It sure is, love.” Quinn smiled.
“You’re 3 years old now kiddo.” You squeezed.
Quinn took her tiny hand using her fingers to show her how many she was.
“Dis many?” Fin blinked, she was so damn precious when she wakes up.
“Hmhm, 3.” You nod.
“You have to make a wish and blow out your candle.” Beth smiled sweetly.
Finley smiled at all of you before turning towards her muffin. She closed her eyes before blowing out her candles.

“So how did things with Tina go?” You asked Mike who was helping you with the finishing touches.
“We slept together.” Mike blushed before looking over at Tina who worked on the other side with Kurt, Blaine, Mercedes, and Sam.
“Wooow.” You grinned mouth agape in surprise.
Mike nudged you laughing.
“So you two are gonna try things again?” You asked.
“I’m not sure we haven’t talked about it yet.”
“Oof.”
“What about you and your little love triangle?” He smirked only for it to quickly fade. “How the fuck do you always end up in a love triangle by the way?” He pointed with a huff.
“What?!” You huffed furrowing your brows.
“Uhh hello Gabrielle Avery in high school, pretty sure there was a girl in college, and then Sersi! Oh my God I can’t believe you didn’t choose her!”
“Mike!” You glared with a huff.
“Sersi, is British - Asian…BrAsian?“
You kinked your brow.
“She loved your babies, she wanted to have your babies, crazy smart, and drop dead gorgeous. Oh and she didn’t treat you like crap.”
“Mike.” You raised your brow.
He raised his hands and then changed the subject.
“What did you and Natasha do last night?”
“Well we checked out this extreme painting with a twist place. She kissed me and then we went to a bar and this girl was on me and she kissed me again-“
“Whoa! Wait! Wait… she kissed you more than once after the photo shoot kiss?” Mike covered his mouth in shock.
“Well it wasn’t like that!”
“Hmhm.” He shook his head at you.
“It wasn’t! The second kiss was for a photo and the third was to get this handy chick off of me.”
“A likely story.” Mike smirked laughing as you nudged him. “So you did you like it?”
“Dude.”
“Come on! I’m your best friend, just tell the truth.” He raised his brow with a cheeky grin.
“Well I mean yeah who wouldn’t enjoy kissing a woman like her.”
“Has it been weird between you two?”
You furrow your brows in thought before turning to look over at the Russian Beauty.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ Meanwhile in the next yard ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“Wait, wait, wait, wait, you’re telling me you made out with Y/N right in front of her wife? Then kissed her two more times?” Wanda raised her brows as she helped Natasha decorate her backyard for Finley’s party.
“You made out with Y/N?!” Laura gasped.
“I did not make out with Y/N!” Natasha chastised. “It was an innocent kiss for a photo shoot.”
Her two closest friends raised their brows.
“Uh oh, the look of shame. What happened?” Clint chuckled, bringing the slide from his home to Natasha’s pool for the party.
“Nat and Y/N made out!” Wanda let out.
“Oh shit.” He chuckled, raising his brows.
“It’s not what you think.” Laura raised her brow. “It was for a photo shoot.” She calmly explained.
“Bullshit.” He laughed. “Tasha you loved it just admit you got a thing for your neighbor. I saw the way you looked at Y/N at Tony’s party.”
“Clint shut it.” Laura rolled her eyes.
“Oh come on, it's just us, admit it you’ve got a crush.” Clint pointed.
“Fine!” Natasha huffed. “The kiss was…”
“Intoxicating?” Wanda asked.
“Magical?” Laura added.
“Addictive?” Clint shrugged.
“All of the above.” She sighed looking over at you not realizing that you were already looking at her.
You waved with a small smile and she waved back.
“Oh yeah you’re into Y/N.” Clint nodded.
“Nat, I love you, but please be careful. Y/N is married… with children.” Wanda cringed at the thought of a woman trying to come between her and Vis.
“I know.” The Russian sighed, turning back towards her task at hand. Natasha knew she shouldn’t have kissed you. She knew she would want more. She knew she would love it. She knew you’d be a great kisser, but by God if she didn’t think about the way you held her hips. The way your body tightened when she ran her hands up your abs to your chest and shoulders. The way your tongue darted against her lips before moving your lips against hers. She had to admit she wants more. She needs more.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ Back To You ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“I mean we seem fine.” You say turning back towards Mike.
“Did Quinn make you sleep downstairs?”
“No thankfully all of this is going on.”
“So that’s how you stayed out of the dog house. Your parents and your kids saved your ass!” He cackled.
“Shut up.” You muttered. “We also talked.”
“Bullshit.”
“We did!” You whined.
“Let me guess you both had sex and you forgave her?”
“We talked!” You gruffed.
“Yeah more ‘Ohhh Yeaah’ he moaned.”
“I can’t with you anymore.” You say, shaking your head as you walked away.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“So you guys fix things?” Santana asked her blonde friend.
“Yeah we talked.”
“Good cause it’s not fair to be upset with them.” Santana said as they stood in line.
“I know but what if Y/N enjoyed it? What if they-“
“Stop. You have to trust Y/N. You’re going to drive yourself mad.”
“I just know that look Natasha gave Y/N. That’s the ‘I wanna run away with you and have your babies’ look.”
“So what? Let her look. It’s you that Y/N is married too. It’s you she sleeps with at night.”
“Did you tell Y/N Berry kissed you?”
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“Come through here you all can set up in the back.”
Natasha looks up hearing you speaking to the petting zoo people. She smiles as you jolt back from a python hanging from the zookeeper’s shoulders.
“Jeez!!” You yelped as the snake’s head came towards you.
“Aww don’t worry he’s a sweetheart.” The snake wrangler chuckled.
“He can’t get loose and eat my daughters right?” You gulped.
“What’s wrong Y/L/N?” Laura teased smirking from Nat’s backyard.
“You scared of a little snake?” Natasha smirked looking over from her backyard fixing a giant inflatable gorilla.
“Little?l” you huffed, turning your head seeing Steve wave as he walked through the entrance of the backyard. “Thanks again Steve, you're a lifesaver.” You grinned as the ex-military man brought over his brand new grill.
“Of course Y/N any time!” He paused looking around at all of your friends putting up decorations. It was now 1100 and he knew the party was supposed to go on at 1300.
“Oh my God that man.” Mercedes and Kurt fanned themselves looking at Steve Rogers from where they were working.
“Wow. Just look at his butt.” Kurt sighed, earning a glare from Blaine.
“I’m sorry hunny but he’s got back.”
“Okay. Chill.” Sam scoffed at his girlfriend.
“Is anyone getting a little bit of a gay vibe from him?” Artie furrowed his brow tilting his head squinting. “No? Just me?”
“His gaydar is better than mine.” Blaine shrugged with a smirk.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ Meanwhile ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
“Uhh… you want some help?” Steve asked with a sweet smile.
“I mean I wouldn’t turn it down.” You chuckled. “As you can see I'm a little over my head.”
“I never leave a soldier behind.” He quirked his brow, placing on an apron. “I’ve got the food pal. You go do what you need to do.”
You nodded as he began setting up shop. You looked around and everything was nearly finished. The theme of the party is Young Wild & Three; jungle theme using The Wild Thornberrys and Tarzan as inspiration.
The booths were up, the makeshift obstacle course Natasha dubbed Swingin’ From The Threes. You and your father created it completed with a ball pit, zip line, and a treehouse. All you had left to do was change and get Finley’s outfit ready.
“I think we’re done.” Quinn said, walking up to you.
“I’ll call my parents.” Your parents had taken the girls and Arlo out so you could surprise Finley.
⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗ ⧗
Once the birthday girl arrived you got her in her outfit and covered her eyes before going outside.
“Papa can’t see. Papa!” Finley huffed before pulling at your hands. You dropped them just as all of your family and friends jumped out saying happy birthday.
You beamed down at your daughter's face seeing her surprised and joyful expression.
She clapped her hands beaming at everyone. “It’s my boythday! I’m this many!” She shouted holding up 3 tiny fingers.
Everyone laughed and cheered.
“Whoa!” She gasped pointing to her brand new treehouse and presents. “Mine? Those ones too?”
“Yes sweet girl.” Quinn cooed.
“Happy birthday Fin.” You both say.
“Papa down please.” She wiggles in your arms wanting to get down. Soon the party is in full swing. The kids are running around going through the obstacles and booths you all set up.
Finley was running around with Nate and Arlo on either side of her.
“Natty look!” Finley gasps, tugging her hand pointing at her treehouse.
“It’s awesome Finny!”
“It’s my boythday.” She smiled.
“Yes it is moi sladosti.”
“Auntie Nat!” Nate smiled, hugging her legs.
“Well hello moy krasivyy.” She smiled crouching down to kiss his head.
“Fin come on, let's see the animals!” Beth grinned pointing towards the petting zoo.
Fin gasped running towards Beth and the animals with Nate and Arlo close behind.
“Thanks for helping me with all this.” You say walking up to Natasha making sure your mother in law was nowhere in sight.
“Of course. Look at how happy she is! How happy all of them are.” She smiled looking from your girls to the rest of the kids on the block.
“Nat?” She turns back towards you. “We’re good, right?”
“Of course we are, why wouldn't we be?” She smiled, pinching your arm.
“Cool.” You smiled trying to move your arm away from her.
“How’s Quinn?” She asked.
“She’s better now.” You blush looking over at your wife bashfully who was speaking with the hobbit- Rachel.
“Well she doesn’t look like she wants to rip my head off anymore.” Natasha smirked.
“Yeah I’m sorry about that.” You cringed.
“You’ve really got to stop apologizing for your wife.” Natasha said softly.
“I know.” You sighed.
“It’s okay you can make it up to me with a kiss.” She smirked watching you blush. “I’m kidding Y/N.”
“I know that.” You chuckled.
“So Beth’s birthday is in June, Fin’s is August, and yours is?” The redhead raised her brow.
“Late September.” You grinned.
“You’re gonna be?”
“28.” You nodded, taking a sip from your drink. “When’s yours?”
“December 3rd.” She smiles before taking a swig of her drink. You can’t help but notice the way her lips look against the bottle. Causing you to remember the way the kiss felt.
“Winter baby.” You smiled, shaking your weird intruding thoughts. “Scratch that; a Russian Winter baby. Did your parents wrestle a bear to have you?” You cringed immediately. “Nope; you’re adopted and your parents are gone. Ahh. I’m sorry Nat.”
“Y/N.” She chuckled, laying her hand on your shoulder. “Relax. I know you didn’t mean anything by it. I thought it was funny. Don’t let the kiss mess what we have up.”
“Kisses.” You elaborated with a blush.
“Right kisses.” She nods looking away from your lips. “I see your dad and Tony are going down memory lane.”
You turn to see your dad laughing along with Tony both holding each other for support.
“Looks like it.” You chuckled.
“Did you talk to Quinn about his job offer?”
“Not yet.” You sighed.
“Y/N.” Natasha looked frustrated with you.
“I will.”
“Please do.”
“Y/N.” You turn, hearing your mother in law.
“Yes Judes?” You smile.
“Your wife needs help with the food.”
“Oh?” You furrowed your brows before heading off.
Judy smiled at the redhead who watched you run inside. “Why hello dear, I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m Judy, Quinn’s mother.”
“Nice to meet you Judy, I'm Natasha, their neighbor.” She smiled pointing to the house with the pool before reaching out to shake her hand.
“Oh, do you live alone?” Judy asked, clearing clocking her wedding ring.
“Oh no my husband Bruce-”
“Oh so you’re married?”
“It’ll be 3 years in less than 6 months.” The redhead responded understanding where Judy is going with this.
“Oh well that's lovely dear. So since you have a husband you’ll leave my daughter’s alone?”
Natasha looked taken back. “I’m sorry?”
“You heard me correctly, dear.”
“I-” Natasha felt like a fish out of water. She didn’t think Judy would just say it so bluntly.
“I’ve seen women like you. Stay away from my family.”
“Hey Nat! Judes!” Brittany smiled walking up with her wife Santana.
“Oh hello Brittany Santana!” Judy hugged both girls. “I’m going to go get me a plate.”
“We figured you needed saving.” Santana smirked.
“You were right to assume. I’m pretty sure she just called me whore without calling me a whore, and told me to leave Y/N alone.” Natasha laughed in disbelief.
“Yup that’s Judy Fabray fo ya.” Santana sighed.
Natasha couldn’t help but wonder how Quinn’s childhood was. No wonder she is the way that she is.
“Don’t take anything she says to heart.” Brittany shook her head, waving her off. “Her ex husband- Quinn’s father cheated on her for years until he finally left her. That was when she started talking to Quinn again.”
“Ahh I see.” Natasha nodded.
Santana began laughing hysterically seeing Kurt and Blaine covered in ketchup and mustard.
“Poncho!” Kurt cried pointing to the mess all over his rain poncho.

WWW Episode 5 thoughts:
Finley's such a little jerk I love it- him pretending to be dead and breaking his own window to give the impression his murderer had fled is just perfect for a little coward villain like him. It's both demeaning and clever!
Ghost is such an interesting character- a little girl who's had to made due with the live given to her, and gosh dang it she's making it work alright. The pity from Ame; another parent-less girl who nonetheless had the support of Grandma Wren and a loving community around her, says a lot about Ame. What blind spots she has and what she still has to learn about how the world works. It's hard to make a positive change in a place you barely understand.
I'm so worried about Ghost and Flicker heading to the empire. On the one had I'm sure it'll mean a better life for ghost- but I doubt that flicker will get to follow along with her. And contrary to Suvi's belief I'm sure their are plenty of artificers and young orphans fighting in the empire' wars.
Suvi oomph... The flaws are so juicy but also her arrogance hits like a truck.
I wonder why our little Nepo baby might be a little touchy about any help she may have had in the citadel... Maybe the reason she's so looked down upon by her peers/the reason she's by far the youngest apprentice to the archmages is that Steel pulled some strings to get her that position and out of the front lines.
The end of the episode is absolutely enthralling. I wonder what the common understanding of great spirits is across Umora- is there a kind of Pantheon of great spirits that are worshipped to some degree? It seems like the forest/vine goddess and the sea goddess were once close to each other, but have had some kind of intense falling out.
- the sea statue was vandalized, is there someone who knows the history of these too/other great spirits? Why have they seeming split up? Are these great spirits present fully in the mortal realm? Or are they in another realm like the great bear? Are they the reason for the witch fires around Jorus/whatevers going on in the city?
I wonder in the relationship between the sea god/spirit and the forest goddess/spirit is allegorical? In Ame's vision we see moving vines, growing walls of stone, and other magical effects that could have come from a direct conflict between the sea spirit and the forest spirit, but what is it's less obvious than that?
What if the sea spirit is connected with the empire in some way- that he lets them sail the ocean and trade and conquer across the world, and the nature spirit of our crews sizable island took offense to that? After all the vision does mention some kind of rhythmic instrument- perhaps like the drums we hear in Suvi's prelude. Maybe Ame's vision is of the empire invading their island. Jorus is an empire outpost. This gallows guy would have a lot of reason to hate the empire and anything aligned to them, maybe he would know. What if the giant walls around Jorus are to keep unruly forest spirit out and the artificial wizard island is a way to connect to the sea spirit.
I'm just spitballing here but I think these major spirits are more connected to the world that Eursulon's experience with the great bear may have left us to believe.
