Emotional Support Music

Entry 1: When I was young I was met with a lot of social rejection. I never fit in nor was I accepted – there was always something wrong. As I got older this led to difficulty forming solid connections as I always feared the inevitable rejection that I would be met with. To combat the resulting loneliness, I would seek emotional support from music. I don't speak for everyone, but I was the kid who you would never see without their headphones on; it was often because sometimes it was only the music keeping me going. Anyways, the women below are women who have given me music that has provided me community in my loneliest hours. Never do I feel lonely, misunderstood, or hopeless when I experience their art. When I listen it is only then that I am able to release the past, stay in the present, and dream for the future. This is why I write music.
