I binged your story after tumblr suggested it to me and it’s so good it invaded my dreams seriously, I’m gonna put down a quick recap on the off chance you wanna know if not just take my praise and ignore below, you’re writing is soooooo good! I really felt for the reader and even the guys kinda you were able to evoke my empathy for these characters and had me on the edge of my seat in just a few short chapters thank you so much for sharing your work! (Seriously I’m sharing you with all my book girls they love angst this is right up their alley)

I dreamt reader washed her hands of the men and got an arranged marriage with a nerd (like square glasses pocket protector stereo type) named ?teddy? Who was really nice and had a sleeper build and I think a library job? They adopted some giant fish & idk my dream started loosing whatever plot it had around there with something about a train trip anyways I woke up confused and wondering if arranged marriage dating apps were even a real thing and google says yes, so yeah you’re story inspired an odd though kinda sweet AU dream and my husband questioning my recent google searches 😂

I'm stuck on the arranged marriage idea now!

so my previous bosses ALL had arranged marriages and were explaining how it worked or how they met (an ad or through parents). And honestly, I would eat UP one where Indian reader dumps her artistic boyfriend who she's had to financially support for four years now and finally relents letting her parents play match maker. She's shocked to find that instead of the son of one her mother's friends (who her mom and been BRAGGING about for years), her dad had arranged for her to meet his very good friend and colleague John Price.

Reader is pissed at first. 1) because he is almost a decade older than her and 2) "A white man? NO!"

But turns out, John is ready to settle down. Doesn't care if you want to be a housewife, a stay at home mom or have a career. He's just so totally over dating in his mid-30s and wants a wife.

Even funnier, your dad tries to boost the fact that his mom is dead so you won't have a mother-in-law (this is literally what one of my bosses' father did) He was like "and his mother is dead, kanna" 💀

She marries John and doesn't realize the man has had fifteen years of income just building and building in the bank since he had been deployed for most of his life and hadn't gotten a chance to spend it. When he notices that she's getting things and hasn't gotten a notification he's like "this is your money. Spend. It."

I saw somebody has done Yttd cast in Undertale before but I want to share some ideas about which Yttd character could act as which Undertale character. Of course, there's too many monsters so this is mainly about bosses and minibosses. Also this is long and yttd characters are sometimes repeated as they can serve several roles.

Sara is great for the role of Frisk simply because she has capacity both for sparing and killing. Goddess of Victory or Angel of Death, who will she choose to be? And without a doubt Sara is DETERMINED (Or there's another variant, Kanna, a kind child that will find approach to everybody. However, I don't see anybody trying to kill her there, as well as her even having a thought about killing.)

Kai can be Toriel for several reasons: he is housemaker, he is tied to Sara, so in this AU he can become her guardian for some time. Moreover, Kai has notable bond with Q-Taro and Gashu, both of which could fit Asgore. Imagine him betraying Asunaro and making sure humans survive. Or arguing with Q-Taro about morals.

Depending on the story Shin could match Napstablook when he's being his meek shy self. Just listening to music, not feeling up to anything, creating akward situations and lying on the floor. I can picture him doing it. Additionally, Ranmaru has similar vibe. Not the type to communicate with many, true introvert with deep insecurities... Why not?

Keiji is definitely Sans and I can't see it otherwise (well there could be other options but still I love Keiji as Sans). He is constantly tired, a bit lazy, has a fair share of mysteries, same ambience I would say. Keiji loves pushing responsibility onto Sara due to his trauma and consequent self-hate, Sans does nothing in genocide until the very end wheт majority is dead. Plus who is better to judge our protagonist than a policeman?

Joe is Papyrus, I don't make the rules... Well, Gin could act as Papurus as well, but let's at first talk about Joe. He is nice and funny, he befriends Sara easily, he literally can't kill her. He can have a brotherly relationship with Keiji considering "Mr. Policeman is Joe's dad" theory. The only downside is Papyrus can be killed and I don't see Sara killing her bestie in any way, even for survival. Maybe he is a doll and no longer a human?..

As to Gin, he is better as Monster kid in my mind. Curious, energetic teenager that admires strong, reliable and absolutely cool Reko (who's Undyne). Gin really trusts Sara, he is naїve to the point of believing her even in genocide route. Or maybe an annoing dog is also appliable, as Gin's stims include barking (and his desing, his Meow chan that is allegedly a dog) and the dogsong is perfect theme for Gin.

So, Reko as Undyne. Strong in every sense, fighting for her people's sake, brave, plays piano... Not to mention her relationship with Nao-the-Alphys. The thing is, would Reko kill a human for her people? Maybe not, she is quite kind. Especially if said human is Sara. Unless there is some misunderstanding... (I actually would argue Sara is a better fit for Undyne as she is samurai woman fighter type and she can be colder).

I haven't mention dummies before, but I totally picture Anzu as Temmie. Cute, sweet, funny, just good old Temmie.

I nerly forgot about Mad Dummy! In my book Ranger fits the bill here: an artifitial being that is really jealous of humans and hates them for it. He's sarcastic, extremelly rude, ready to kill. Also imagine that in the Ruins we encounter Dummy of Sei that Kai is keeping due to grief and memories, but now it ends up here as Ranger with consciousness but no soul.

Then we move to Hotland. Nao is a good Alphys in my book: a bit dependent, insecure, still striving to become better. Plus I want to give Mishima a Gaster role, so they share connection. (On the second thought, Safalin would make a compelling Alphys as well: she is actually a scientist, she has far more self-deprication as crying doll, she has many sceletons in the closet with questionable experiments).

There's little info on Gaster as well as on Mishima. Royal scientist whose genuis was unparalleled and that fell in lava (burning again?). Though Meister, whose role is still unclear, may look more like Gaster and have the same air of mystery.

For Muffet there are two worthy candidates: Mai and Maple. Both are acquainted with cuisine, both are extra sweet with their words, I think both can be persuasive about the product (it's Mai's profession, and you can't refuse to drink tea in disscussion room so Maple's capable of it as well). And of course you should never underestimate either of girls.

Mettaton... the star of the show, daring, flashy, attractive... Alice was in the band, his desing (in usual sprites just hair) is quite colorful, not to mention his physique, so why not? That would mean interesting relationship with Reko, who's his neighbor. Plus he could be a doll as Mettaton is an artifitially created robot. Maybe Nao/Safalin/whoever's Alphys created him to help Reko, they reconciled and Alice found his own path.

We are nearing the end. Asgore is morally gray character who killed children, regrets it but ready to repeat the deed for the sake of his country. As was mentioned previosly, either Q-Taro or Gashu could fit his role: Q-Taro because of appearance, kindhearted nature but ability to commit not the most ethical actions. I can also insert joke about killing kids (no matter how you interpret Q-Taro's words in the first main game, part of fandom will bring it up). Gashu had done even more morally reprehensible things for his "community" Asunaro. Plus, Gashu literally had a foster child that died (Sei, Ranger's inspiration).

I didn't mention Flowey because his story blossoms only in the end and depending on the person I replace him with the story becomes drastically different. The first one is Shin because firstly, I am biased toward him, secondly, Asriel essentially is bound to return to his flower form (kind of 0% to be truly happy), thirdly, they were both inicially kinder and due to horrible circumstances became worse. But yet they can become better. Moreover, roses. Maybe Kanna here was killed, and from sheer grief Shin turned into a rose? Alternatively, Ranger matches as well: he can't feel positive emotions just as Flowey doesn't feel them (I don't remember specifics but something along these lines). Plus, Sei was killed being a small kid just like Asriel and he has familial connections to Kai-the-Toriel and Gashu-the-Asgore (this sounds extra weird, nobody here is shipped of course. Just in case).

What about the souls and remaining dead people? I think some of the dead could be these souls: Kurumada as Bravery (he is boxer and this soul has gloves), Megumi or Mr. Policeman as Justice (police is supposed to make sure justice prevails), Hayasaka as Perseverance (he looks a bit nerdy and has glasses), Hinako as... Patience? (the real one), Kanna if dead can definitely be Kindness, Kugie as Integrity? Honestly, we know little about these guys so the arrangement can vary a lot.

Finaly, Chara. Maybe I'll do their character an injustice, but imagine them as Midori. When Frisk Sara is in the end of genocide, she sees Midori, a demon that is resurrected by her cruelty. He enjoyed every bit of it. Plus, then dynamic Chara Midori and Asriel Shin becomes quite intriguing (and messed up). Or maybe Kanna could be Chara as well, a kid that met a friend (or foster brother. Oh even a real one) in the underground and then died.

Why emotion route is a betrayal to Sou

Will keep this short and straight to the point. Also I will be calling shin “Sou” because that’s what a lot of people call him and to not cause confusion.

during the final vote you choose between Nao, Kanna, and Sou.

Kanna is supposedly the emotion choice and Sou is the logical. The reason why I disagree with this is because the game isn’t black and white. A lot of people in the fandom associate emotion route as the good path and logic route as the evil route when that is far from the truth. Saving Sou is not a logical choice and saving Kanna is not an emotional choice. In the end you are still letting someone weaker than you(Sara) die. One of them just happens to know about computers and even then Sou couldn’t do much.

Sara and Sou bond. They have a mutual understanding and want to work together. To say that Sara only saves Sou because he is useful is just plain wrong.

Even when you choose the option to say you are not sure if you can save Sou he still encourages Sara because he trusts her even when Sara shows weakness.

Also Sara can literally feel his heart lmao

then when you vote for Kanna in order to save a precious ally the game treats it as if Sara needed a tool to escape.

Earlier Sara was fighting for Sou’s trust. Was happened now? Was it a lie to use Sou? Sara is not a cruel person she means it when she calls Sou an ally.

I don’t get why she says all this after gaining Sou’s trust.

then when Sou is dying he says this:

Sou concludes that if he believed in everyone he could’ve had a chance to continue living. In logic route Sou is still in time to trust everyone. In the CG of this image Sou is crying because he’s dying. Even when he protected Kanna, the person he cared about the most, he still wants to live. Because despite everything Sou is not ready to die and when you choose emotion route you take that away from him.

remember when Sou has a nightmare of Sara? That’s because he fears the strong. In the nightmare it’s implied that Sou dies because he is weak and that’s why Sara hates him. When you choose to save a Kanna that’s what exactly happens. Sara states she hates him and Sou dies a lonely death. Yeah he plays that Joe AI for Sara and we get a nice reunion but Sou is still being used here. Sou just becomes another pebble for Sara’s growth.

“thank you Joe……and Sou” those are Sara’s words after her reunion with Joe AI. The first she thanks is Joe, she pauses and then thanks Sou without even using his real name. And in chapter 3 he is barely awknoleged for his sacrifice. Even Kanna still uses his fake name.

this isn’t me saying that emotion route is bad but I am saying that emotion route is just as a betrayal to Sou as the logic route. Neither route is “good” or “bad” in the end it’s just a matter of saving who YOU like. And I just happened to like shin (sou) more than the rest of the characters <3

The sky lights up and the clouds thunder against each other as rain showers around Mitsuki. Her fortune must be going downhill with all the events that have been happening currently. First and foremost- she broke her ankle.

Though the perks that come with that make her feel slightly better about her rotten luck. Aya constantly hovers around her and tends to all her needs, even picking her up for school and dropping her off, helping her with her school work, and most importantly- she spends all her time and attention on Mitsuki.

She totally does not get butterflies at this.

But then she had to ruin everything by spilling seeds of the past. 

Mitsuki isn't really sure who the 'she' is.

Is it Aya? She was the one who had brought up 'Onii-san' out of the blue. And she also seemed to be missing 'him' if Mitsuki puts it like that. When all the misunderstandings were already cleared and Mitsuki was the one standing right in front of Aya, why did she call her 'Onii-san'?

Mitsuki heaves a sigh. It isn't Aya's fault when she is jealous. Of herself? Or this fake persona she'd created of herself that Aya happened to like better?

But....does Aya truly think about 'Onii-san' still? Or had she meant it in another context and it was her who took it the wrong way?

Her thoughts round about one girl, they have been for quite sometime now; Mitsuki can't stop thinking about Aya.

"Totally forgot to bring an umbrella." She glares at the clouds hanging heavy overhead, as if they were the bane of her existence. (which they kind of are now, since she can barely walk back home without getting drenched by the downpour and she'd rather not fall sick in addition to her broken leg.)

She has frightened her poor uncle and troubled Kanna-san enough. But she knows the one who would shoulder the burden the most would be Aya. That girl will probably think it's her fault for not coming to Mitsuki's aid even though Mitsuki is the one (trying) to avoid her.

Mitsuki knows what conclusion Aya might possibly stumble upon. 

'No Oosawa-san, you're not abandoning me or anything like that. It's just me being me,' she grimaces as she speaks to the voice of Oosawa Aya that doesn't seem intent on leaving her mind anytime soon.

'Should I just run home?' But then she looks at the crutch and hides a disappointed sigh.

"I guess this is pay back for my sins..." she mumbles to whoever deems to hear her self deprecation words.

She doesn't expect it to be Aya though.

"What is?" comes a question out of the blue.

"Oosawa-san?!" she shrieks out, pale as a ghost. Aya stands beside her, eyes glued to her phone, as if she'd never called out to Mitsuki and the ravenette is just imagining things.

Maybe she is. Maybe Aya isn't even here but Mitsuki wants her to be, so her mind conjures up this image- that Aya's free hand rests too close to hers, their knuckles brushing. It's not as if they weren't this close before but with the latest revelations Mitsuki has had a simple touch drives her crazy.

Silence rings heavy around them and Aya seems content not to break it so Mitsuki takes the initiative.

"Is- is that Incubus?" she asks, noticing the song that plays in the backdrop. Aya finally looks at her; unreadable intent brewing in her peachy eyes.

"Yeah. Wish you were here," 'But I'm right here,' calls out a voice in her head. It's kind of ironic. "That song- I mean." Of course, Mitsuki knows the song very well.

"The...The way it starts calmly feels pretty nice, right?" She tries to smile. "I...like that song too."

Aya only stares, unblinking, as if she is assessing her. Then she doesn't look at Mitsuki anymore, opting to turn her gaze ahead.

"Do you think...Onii-san likes this song too?" Aya doesn't respond to what she had instead. Doesn't tell her what she thinks about Mitsuki liking the song. Instead she asks if Mitsuki knows what 'Onii-san' thinks of this song.

"B-But-" she stammers out. "By 'Onii-san' you mean-"

"That's right." Aya opens the umbrella, holding it in front of them. "You had said 'Are you being nice to me just because I'm Onii-san,' didn't you?"

"Are you jealous? What for!" There's a sparkle in her eyes; it's back, Mitsuki realises. Aya gives her a blinding smile, like that of the sun that shines after rain.

It's beautiful, like a daydream.

"You're one and the same for me!" Sunshine doesn't leave her face.

"What?!" Mitsuki's heart is in a frenzy! And her mind is beyond repair at this point. 'Does Oosawa-san even realise what's she's saying?! She's too bold!' The blush refuses to leave her cheeks. "No-! I was just- I mean-"

"Just get under!" And Aya yanks her towards her, but still mindful of her injury.

"I like all sides of you Koga-san. You're so cool in every way!" She gushes non-stop the moment Mitsuki is under the umbrella, by her side.

"But you know- if I liked 'Onii-san' more than you I would've been helping him not you." Mitsuki wants to retort that she couldn't help someone who doesn't exist anyway, understanding dawning on her as she remembers Aya's words.

"If I liked him more than you, why do you think I'm always with you? Even at school, where you're Koga Mitsuki and not 'Onii-san'?" She's suddenly all too aware of the warm hand holding her cool sweaty ones.

"I just like you Koga-san. I never became your friend just because of the disguise you wear outside of school," she laughs. "I became your friend just because-" There's hesitancy in her voice, but Mitsuki wants to hear more. So she squeezes her hand urging Aya to continue.

"Just because?"

"You're- well- You're you!" she blurts out in a panic. Mitsuki stifles a chuckle at the outburst. 'Cute...'

"Because you're so pretty and kind and- and nice! We like the same type of music. We have so much in common- and at the same time not-!" Guess even Aya notices the disparity between the two of them. But- "We bonded over our shared interests, right? But we also always talk about whatever we like to do individually. We take an interest in eachother's hobbies, even if we may not personally like it. But that's 'cause we are friends!"

Ouch, the 'friends' suddenly stings.

"I'll admit I'd started frequenting the store because of Onii-san- and music of course! That was the reason I came! But do you know why I stayed?" Aya looks at her with a fondness and Mitsuki feels as if her heart would leap out of her chest any minute now. "It was because of you Koga-san."

"The feelings I had for Onii-san....they never actually changed even when i found out the truth you know? But instead they've just gotten stronger....And that's why I still stick around! For you! Not for Onii-san or anyone else-"

Aya feels like combusting! She had just planned on saying a little of her true feelings to Mitsuki, once she figured the ravenette might need her assurance. It was just to tell her enough that Aya liked her and not anyone else, even her own alter-ego. But she hadn't expected her mouth to go rampant and blurt out everything!

"Just me..." Mitsuki thankfully finishes for her, struggling to cover her own heated face.

The confession lingers between them. The small space they share is comforting. Like Aya.

"Thanks for telling me....Aya-san." The butterflies in her belly flutter with happiness.

Brief Synopsis: After hearing of Kanata's past, Rinne believes he's found his new good luck charm and decides to give it a try.

Rinne: (My next job is in around an hour...I'd really like to go play some pachinko, but I've only got time for one game. And it's pointless going to Cafe Cinnamon if Niki's not there. Well then, I guess that leaves me no choice but to kill time here. I really wish I had anything to cure my boredom...ah--)

Rinne: Hey, Hiyori-chan~! It's great to see ya! I can't really tell why, but Hiyori-chan seems like a good sign. Must be the benefits of your "ii-hiyori"*~

Hiyori: Rinne-senpai, I know you must be absolutely in tears at the sight of me, but right now it's "warui hiyori".

Rinne: Nn? Why? You don't look too good, did you catch cold?

Hiyori: I came here to pick up a nice snack, but the quiche I was looking for is sold out. I was the one that sent the letter suggesting that quiche should be added to their "repertoire". The fact that I can't eat it is unforgivable.

Rinne: Oioi, you like eating tissues**? You're like a goat eating paper. Hiyori-chan try saying "meh-meh"~

Hiyori: I will absolutely not say that. I'm not a goat! I am in no mood to be made fun of, got it? Why are you provoking me?

Rinne: I had some free time and I saw a friend of mine, so is there an issue if I wanna go talk to them? We're dorm mates, so why don't you play nice with me a bit? Gyahaha!

Hiyori: Dorm mates...well then, why don't you go ask Kanata-kun to play with you? He's definitely not as lucky as me, but he's got some good luck as well.

Rinne: What do you mean?

Hiyori: This is just hearsay, but I heard that while he was attending Yumenosaki Academy he was worshipped by the students for granting them anything they wished for.

Rinne: Anything, you say? Gyaha! There's no way. What is he, a god?

Hiyori: Fufu. Whether you believe it or not is on you, Rinne-senpai.

Six hours later

Rinne: (Fuu, it's finally over. Good job today, me. I'll get the hell out of here once I put my stuff down. My beloved gambling awaits~ I think I'll head to the pachinko parlor, to start. There's new machine's that opened up that I want to try out...nn?)

Kanata: ....zzz

Rinne: (I had no idea you were already back, Kanna-cchi. I didn't even realize it at all. He looks like he's having a happy and peaceful sleep. Is he having a good dream?)

Rinne: ........

Rinne: ("Anything they wished for", huh? I get that it's a baseless rumor, but I think it wouldn't hurt to try.)

Rinne: [whispering] I pray that I'll win big!

Rinne: (Alright, I'm gonna give my all!~)

A few days later

Niki: Sorry to keep you waiting~, here are both of your daily specials.

HiMERU: Thank you.

Kohaku: Hey, Niki-han. I've got something I need to ask you.

HiMERU: Oukawa.

Kohaku: Isn't it bothering you too, HiMERU-han? There's no getting anywhere by ourselves, so let's get Niki-han in on it. Um, right over there...that's Rinne-han sitting at the counter, isn't it?

Rinne: ....

Rinne: ...haa..

Kohaku: He looks like he's been mulling over something like that for a really long time, did something happen? Maybe he ate something weird?

Niki: Ehh, please don't accuse me of putting something in his food! I was wondering why he wasn't in our hair, but now that you point it out he has been acting differently.

HiMERU: So that means even Shiina doesn't know.

Kohaku: HiMERU-han, where are you going?

HiMERU: To ask him directly. It's a waste if we all sit here talking about it while not knowing anything.

HiMERU: Amagi, a moment please?

Rinne: ...Hey, Merumeru. Do you believe in God?

HiMERU: Hah?

Kohaku: Crap, Rinne-han's broken.

Niki: Uwah, this is trouble. Who can fix him? Otouto-san?

Rinne: I'm not broken, I'm fine. I've got no idea how or why, but after I prayed to Kana-cchi, I kept hitting it big in every pachinko game I played. At first it was all just some kind of joke, but I really think that he could be some kind of gambling god.

Rinne: I'll have to treasure this kind of luck~! Gyahaha!

Even more days later

Hiyori: I'm baaack! If you're home you'd better give me a big warm welcome!

Kanata: Welcome back, "Ohisama"-san.

Hiyori: Kanata-kun, what's wrong? I'm back now, so how could you look so down?

Kanata: I'm feeling "fine", I'm just confused. "Chief"-san lately has been spoiling me extravagantly.

Hiyori: Spoiling you?

Kanata: Yes. He bought me an "inflatable pool" and he tried taking me to a "fishfood" restaurant. I don't understand his true "intentions". It's really troubling.

Hiyori: Ah, I have an idea why that is, let me tell you...

After a few moments

Hiyori: And that's it. He sounds like he really believes that buying you more gifts will increase his luck. I would even say he actually thinks of you as a gambling deity.

Kanata: Fumu, so that's why he was acting like a "kiss up". I don't like it, the feeling of being used you know?

Rinne: I'm back~...

Kanata: Ah, "Chief"-san. I need to tell you something. I'm not a "gambling god", you know that right?

Rinne: Aah...haha. Did you catch me praying to you this whole time? Wish I heard that a little earlier, since I just lost big time. Haa, in this world there really is no such thing as a quick-deal.

Hiyori: Don't huff in my presence! If you won't worship Kanata-kun, then you can worship me! I am part of "Eden", named after the haven dominated by an all-powerful God, so treating me with reverence will surely bring you some blessings!

Rinne: No way~, could you be pushing your beliefs onto me? What should Rinne-kun do now~

Hiyori: There's no harm in trying! I'll have a bronze statue sculpted of me, so that you can go to worship it everyday.

Rinne: Hehe, Hiyori-sama~

Hiyori: I don't like your tone! Be serious, and show some more respect!

Rinne: Jeez. This god's got too many demands.

my full thoughts on the mini episodes

KAI: I was not ready for this. it broke my heart so hard. first of all, gashu with long hair is cursed. also why was tiramisu so weirdly emphasized?? a bit odd but oh well. then there was Sei and I was screaming so hard. it's fucking Ranger omg. but smal??? and human??? I was really surprised to find out he was human. he said his dad died and for a moment i thought his dad was Mr policeman but then I realized the timings didn't match up. the guy who killed sei kinda looked looked like him tho. but yea it was just so heartbreaking. seeing gashu be an actual good dad was painful. he only became such a heartless guy once he had to accept that one of his sons would kill the other. it kinda explains why he didn't care about ranger. it was too late, his son was ready gone. sobbing and crying. when they played the piano music from kanna's death I almost teared up. that was toooo much. 1000/10

ANZU: this one felt like a nice silly break after the anguish from Kai's story. anzu without her clown outfit is soooooooo cute <3333 I think it's silly that she didn't really know what she liked. finding ur passion is a nice storyline. her dynamic with the other clown guy was kinda sweet. he just liked teaching her and she liked learning. they made it kinda weird by calling him cute when she saw him in the room but i guess thats just what teens do sometimes so I'm not gonna think about it too much. the lady that came by and tried to make him come back was sooo sus tho. didn't trust her at all. I think she reminded me of Megumi. also the clown guy is named Ryuu so that's probably something important to remember. overall it was short and sweet, 7/10

ALICE: this one was just heartbreaking. not in the feral screaming kind of way but in a sad "noooooooooo :(" kind of way. Alice just wanted to be a big brother. they cared so much for each other but it just didn't work out. the fact that the drums are what keep connecting and separating them is just awkfndidnxjdbdhsbdh. 8/10

YTTD Fic: I Saw A Ghost In The Snow

( @dysaniadisorder made an amazing art piece that inspired this fic! I heavily suggest that you go look at it!)

The harder the snow falls, the tighter Kanna's grasp curls around her red and dotted scarf. It wasn't hers first, but the fabric falls naturally around her neck as if it's always been there. It's a nice reminder that she's not alone, even on days when ice nips at her bones. 

Her eyes follow the flakes falling swiftly toward the snow-ladened path, and a grin tugs at her checks. Kugie would love days like this. A light would ignite in her eyes each time the white powder fell, as her hands filled with balls of snow. She'd hurl them at her sister full force, provoking a fight that would last until their parents called them to the warmth of home. 

It's one good memory out of many. Memories Kanna never got to make with her other sibling. She got so little downtime with her brother as the world moved quickly around them. It was so rare for a moment to allow a simple conversation. Topics such as the weather were never at the forefront of their mind. Instead, they worried about what each day would bring until Shin's time was spent, and he met the fate that had been called to him. 

More Undercut

Yet, fate doesn't stop her from imagining what could have been. She can see his smile as they walk through the cold, adding a flush of red to his cheeks. He'd keep a hand on her back to keep her steady, only removing it when he came across a fresh patch of ground waiting to be built upon. His gloved hands would fill with balls of snow, and he'd ask Kanna to stack them on top of each other. One, two, three, until a snowman was formed. It would be blank in the face without button eyes or a carrot nose, but she would draw a smiley in their place, making a grin tug at Shin's face. She'd place her bucket where the tophat should go, and he would playfully quip a beanie would fit much more. 

Or it would be much more mundane. They'd walk casually through the field, chatting about what they'd have for dinner and if they wanted to watch a movie after. He would pull his vibrant purple jacket closer to his chest, remarking she could borrow his scarf until they reached home. A grateful smile would cross her face as she declined, noticing how her brother trembled with each step. He'd glimpse at her knowingly but accept her judgment as they walked to their front door. 

Maybe the truth would be far from where her mind first goes.

Perhaps she would stick her tongue into the air to catch the falling flakes. Shin would bet with a playful smile that she couldn't catch ten, and she would respond it was hard to count what you can't see. He'd disagree until she told him to prove his point, and he'd spend far too long trying to count each snowflake that landed in his mouth. Their parents would find them when they were fifteen minutes late and scold them for playing in a blizzard. Shin would apologize softly, but their transgression would soon be forgotten as they made it to the house for a warm cup of hot chocolate. Shin would take his plain, and Kanna would fill hers with more whipped cream than drink as he shook his head with amusement. 

It's hard to know what's wrong and what's right. No matter how hard Kanna hopes, she'll always wonder about the true answer. Forever asking herself what he would do on a cold winter's day. 

Her hands clasp together for warmth as the snow seems to fall harder. It's hard to see in front of her, but her daily trail is clear enough to follow as she listens to the whistling in the wind. It almost drowns out her thoughts, which drift farther as she sees a figure in the distance.

The figure is short and lanky, wearing the same red-dotted scarf wrapped snugly around her neck. A vibrant purple jacket covered his frame, and a beanie snuggly covered most of his hair. Her eyes widen as she sees him turn toward her through the falling snow, and he smiles. A warm smile that nulled the chill in her bones. 

"Ah! Shin!" It had been months since she last saw him. The kind hallucination that soothed her in the pit of despair. Yet, here he was, and his presence felt like he had never left. 

"...Nice day, huh?" She grins, and he closes his eyes as a look of peace washes over his face. 

"It is." With her confirmation, the figure blends with the snow like no one had ever been there, taking the weight on her shoulders with him. He would enjoy a lovely winter's day, not unlike the younger sister he adored. 

All at once, the air suddenly doesn't feel cold.

whaddya think the fates of the yabusame sibs will be in 3-2? will they have any major plot impact? will they have one big defining moment? will they DIE?? idrk so I wanna hear the expert’s thoughts!! (and do you think the reko/Alice decision will have an impact on logic route?)

oo this is interesting! okay i have quite a few thoughts bear with me here.

also just for ease, i am only referring to emotion route unless i say otherwise

oh and im gonna put it all under the cut cuz its pretty hefty i apologise

will they have any big plot impact? i personally believe that every character has pretty big plot impact, but i know thats not what you mean so i will give an actual answer. im not sure if they will have MORE plot relevance than other characters, especially since theyre only there in one route (although, i have seen people theorise that emotion and logic will have seperate plots completely, which is interesting). i think plot wise, there isnt alot that they CAN impact yk? midoris gone, hinakos gone, and those were the big moments. i mean, that was a huge moment in alice lives route, the hinako reveal was such a huge plot moment, and to my knowledge it wasnt as big boom powpow in rekos route as it was in alices. i think that reko'll have one of these moments (please she needs a w). we still dont know her first trial. i think we'll find out what it is in 3-2 (the same applies to gin and kai but this is about reko). and i feel like alices first trial was pretty plot relevent so the same could apply here. as for alice specifically, i have a feeling that the memories that safalin erased will come into play. yttd has established a pretty big theme of humanity/how can humans be altered or changed and alice erasing his memories of reko is a pretty huge example of this. i highly doubt that it wont be relevant. also again, hinako moment was a pretty big plot impact. im not saying that he won't have any more plot impact, but i feel like in 3-2 he won't have a single big reveal moment because, well, it's already happened.

big defining moment this is just me elaborating slightly. i think all the first trials we dont know about will be relevant, and that includes reko's. on top of that i do think that while her arc is mostly coming to a close, i think she very well could have a big personal character moment, this may be wishful thinking cuz i love her and want to see more of her but whatever. to be honest, i don't fully see HOW her first trial is going to be relevant, but there has gotta be a reason for it being hidden this whole time. alice's first trial seemed irrelevant until it wasnt so! alices big moment, as i said, has gotta be related to his memories. i refuse to believe that he just erases his memories and moves on with his life, it just seems like a copout and i trust nankidai more than that!

will they die? to be honest, i dont think so. they very well MIGHT but i dont know! i think there will be at least one route where they die, but i think itll be avoidable. again. very well may be wishful thinking. but truly i think that either of them surviving to the end, possibly even escaping, would be a huge win for their character arcs. particularly alice who has very little to get back to. for him to fight on, to move forwards, despite knowing this? i think that'd be hella cool thematically! the idea of hope, and the idea that being human is to fear death are pretty big themes for the game, so for character like alice: a prisoner, who's already lost his sister and hasn't talked to the rest of his family in years, to not give in and to escape anyways would really fit into that. he doesn't have too much to live for, but that doesn't mean he should die, yk? (also would be an interesting parallel with kanna). reko, similarly but also on the other hand, HAS people to get back to, she has her band. and her fans. shes a public figure, her kidnapping was probably a big deal, making national news headlines, so it'd be nice to see her escape, also playing into the idea of hope both for her personally, and for everyone else; everyone in the death game and, yeah, her fans. additionally, because she is famous, her escaping could be detrimental to asunaro. she could out them completely as criminals, it would be a huge fucking deal. realisitically, im not sure if thats going to happen but its a possibility!

will choice affect logic route? honestly i have NO idea. i think most realistically, no, considering alot of people play chapters seperately to each other and will be starting from 3-2 without any link to any previous saves. there wouldn't be any point in having a "who died" choice for the yabusames at the start of 3-2. hopefully speaking, maybe. i think it could be interesting seeing how it affects sara, especially because she was incredibly close to reko. reko's death in logic route would obviously hit her alot harder than alice's so it'd be interesting seeing the differences there, but very likely the choice won't matter. emotion route on the other hand, i have a feeling theres gonna be a big difference in 3-2 between alice and reko lives, not sure what it'd be but. something's gonna happen. might be first trial related who knows

this is like half "what i think will happen" and half "what i want to happen" and i cant tell which is which.

tldr: alice gets his memories back, we find out rekos first trial, there is at least one route where they survive their respective routes, and the choice is relevant in emotion (all theory)

Sara Joe Ryoko and Ranmaru(?)- So my first thought was “school sekai” but I was unsatisfied with that because the game itself already has a school Sekai. So I instead decided on “pet shop Sekai” centering around Sara and Joes cat and dog theming, and hey Ranmaru has fluffy hair so he can find a nice pommeranian to represent him. Ryoko’s more of a bunny gal btw. So I think their starting vocaloid will be Luka. Someone who’s cool and mature, but willing to break the ice and joke around a lot, much like Sara. I imagine the story with them is that Ranmaru gets caught up with the trio and goes to Sekai on accident, and Miku tells them to express their feelings and hey bottling everything up and being what everyone wants ISNT the best solution to everything (Looks them all in the eye) and also Ranmaru and Sara can chat about their special interest in samurais and ninjas

Anzu, Kugie, Kanna and Hinako- So my idea for this is Anzu drags these three to Ryuu to join her clown troupe because she needs members so she picks up her classmate, her sister, and a talented girl on the street who just so happens to be a member of a cult yay, woo, put her in a healthy environment. The Sekai can maybe be a tent Sekai like a circus tent? Though it may be too similar to Wonderland Sekai. Well they are putting on circus acts instead of plays so you be the judge. I think the guide for this one should be Len and Rin. Since Kugie and Kanna, the siblings are here, it’d be nice to have the sibling vocaloids as the initial set up. Plus their goofy antics would fit in as a circus show. Anyways they’re guided by Miku in Sekai and Ryuu outside! Good trade off!

Completed Media: Sakura Wars for Sega Saturn

I've been meaning to get into Sakura Wars for...most of my life, I think. Geki! Teikoku Kageki-dan is one of the first anisong I ever remember hearing and it's still one of my absolute favorites. I read what was available of the manga in English (not bad! pretty fun), I watched a few episodes of the TV anime (didn't like this one, tbh), and then started playing the game with that nice new fan patch.

I played the patch on my Steam Deck, which overall worked pretty well. I had some trouble figuring out how to switch discs, and controller support was a little funky at points, but otherwise it worked pretty smoothly. Had a few things turned on in the emulator and it looked incredibly nice.

I liked all the fun mini-games! Very glad they let you practice them beforehand. I feel kinda bad for obliterating Kohran at hanafuda, I was forged in the F/HA mines.

I think it's neat how there's no leveling system or upgrades you can choose to make to your machines. Your chances of victory depend entirely on whether you made the right decisions in earlier conversation. And all the battles felt like they were at the exact right level of difficulty.

This probably says more about me than it does about the game, but only a third of the girls feel like they're really and truly options to pursue romantically. Iris is 10, Maria is cool but has enough of her own stuff going on, I'm not going to even try to get in the middle of whatever Sumire and Kanna have going on (something homosexual, I'm pretty sure). I got Sakura's ending, she's good and I like her. If I ever replay this though, I'll probably go for Kohran.

Was wondering what the heck Satan's deal was up until the very end. Like, what's his deal, what's his motive? And then, surprise surprise! It's because he's Actual Satan, like From the Bible, not just some guy who happens to be named Satan because he's evil. And then your commanding officer is Michael, also from the Bible. Was pretty blown away by that.

I had a lot of fun with Sakura Wars! I hope the translation for the second game comes out soon. (Doesn't have to be -too- soon though, I have another dozen games I've started and haven't finished still to get through).

Sesshomaru cracks an eye open and drawls, "No."

Her bed is a classic college dorm bed, meaning tiny. Even if it wasn't her lying next to him (warm, smelling like toothpaste, the fabric of her pajama pants rubbing against his leg with every slight movement) that would be reason enough to keep him awake.

"I figured since you kept huffing." Kagura yanks the blanket up, jabbing his arm with her elbow in the process. "Hey, let's play a game."

"It's one in the morning."

"So?" Even in the dark, he knows exactly the shape her smile makes. "Come on, it'll help. Trust me."

He rolls his eyes.

Kagura waits.

"What kind of game."

One fist stretches towards the ceiling, as she hisses in victory. The movements jostle the mattress. Sesshomaru twists onto his side to keep from falling, and finds himself a mere few inches away from gleaming red eyes, just barely lit by whatever moonlight that the dorm's cheap plastic blinds can't block out.

"Easy - we ask each other questions. And we have to answer them really really quick. But honestly; no lies allowed."

"How will you know if it's a lie or not?" He can't help but to ask.

Kagura reaches over to push away a few long strands of silver hair that have tangled in the blankets. "It's you. The worst liar of all time. Of course I'll know."

"Kagura, asking questions isn't even a game - "

"You're the one who wanted to stay here," she croons. They're so close together that her breath grazes his lips. "If you don't want to play my games, you can always try and sneak out to go back to your own dorm."

Leaving now would be embarrassing, after the fuss he made to stay. Especially since even if he makes it back without getting caught, Jaken is liable to ask where he's been; for some reason, his roommate gets a sour expression every time Kagura comes up. Her being Sesshomaru's friend of twelve years means that is often, and thus his face is always screwed up in bitterness.

"Fine. But I ask, first."

"Sure. We can do five for me, then five for you." The way her face lights up, even in the dark, when he gives in is enough of a reminder why he always does. As is the gentle press of her foot, as she tucks it between his ankles.

Casually. Like they do this all the time.

He tries to relax, going with things that he knows. "Favorite food."

"Zenzai with orange."

"Favorite sibling."

"Kanna. When she's not repeating lines from creepy movies, at least."

"Worst person in your major."

"Rengokuki, he hogs the damn printer every time there's a paper due and he's weird with all the girls - "

"Were you the one who stole Koga's lucky leg-warmers at the final senior track meet?"

She sputters, eyes widening. Sesshomaru feels a pinch in his chest, to finally be the one to catch her off guard for once.

"Fine, yes. Who the hell told you that?"

"No one." He shrugs the shoulder that isn't pressed against the mattress in the general direction of her wardrobe. "I found them in your backpack the week after graduation. But it is nice to hear you finally admit it."

Kagura's mouth twists oddly. Fingertips ghost across his sternum, before yanking away. He wonders if she would have kept her hand there, had he added the part where he'd mailed the keepsakes to Koga's house anonymously. Just so if she was found out, the proof would no longer be so easily discovered.

"Those aren't fun questions," she mutters. "You already know all the answers."

"You ask, then." He slides in a bit closer, ready to pretend it's because the room is cold. It'd be a good excuse when she's hogging the blankets, anyway.

Kagura's eyes flick to different parts of his face - perhaps trying to make out his features in the dark. "Not yet. Ask me something that isn't boring."

"I do not - "

"Sesshomaru."

Outside the room's walls, a wailing emergency vehicle passes by. For a brief moment, her face is aglow with blue and red lights, before they are left with the moonlight once again.

"There aren't many things that I could ask that I don't already know about you." Sesshomaru's heart seems to be beating quickly. Thank the gods that she won't be able to hear it. "It is the same for you, with me."

Kagura contemplates this silently. Perhaps she's thinking the game was a waste of time. Which isn't exactly right; it's rather that, when the truth is a simple echo of what he already knows in his bones, games like these become a constant reminder to Sesshomaru that no one could know her (understand her, take care of her) better than he could.

...not that she has any reason to think of it that way.

Before she can complain again (or worse, make fun of him for saying something close to intimate), he sighs, "Then my last question will be this: what is a truth that you have never told me?"

Though the rules of the game were clear enough, he does not expect her to answer so quickly:

"My roommate is never here on purpose. If I say you're coming by, any of the other girls will put her up in their room instead. Because the entire dorm has been trying to get us to date since last semester."

Cold (is her bed located under an air vent, perhaps?) hits the back of his neck, seeping in through the thin fabric of his shirt where the comforter won't stretch. Sesshomaru swallows, and despite the darkness, it's obvious how her eyes draw down to the movement. She states the facts so easily, yet there is no way to tell what she thinks of the idea - them, dating.

"She told you this directly?" Is all he can think of to say.

"Ah ah, it's my turn for questions." Her hand finds his shirt collar and twists it in what is probably meant to be a warning; with their forced closeness and the late hour combined with his time-worn feelings, his heart pounds at such a simple action. "Five of them. Remember, you have to answer right away."

He should make an excuse to leave. If truths like that are what is coming out of this game, then Sesshomaru is in very real danger of confessing feelings he isn't prepared to be rejected for. That is, after all, what comes from sharing secrets at one a.m. while in a bed with the best friend you've been in love with since you were eight years old.

But if he leaves now, Kagura will be upset. Offended. Suspicious.

Perhaps he could successfully pretend to fall asleep. Even though she is staring at him with long-lashed, scarlet eyes and a surprisingly soft grin.

The comforter shifts, as she is now close enough to drape it over his shoulders without revealing herself to the night air. Sesshomaru is surprised how welcoming the warmth of it is.

"Ready?" She whispers, wiggling the foot tucked between his ankles. Yearning heat unfurls within his chest.

"Fine," he acquiesces, again (always again).

If she asks (will she ask?) and he lies (would he lie?) then she'd just be able to tell, anyway.

Arai Sumiko's one-shot Makoto no Momoka / まことのももか (Yuri Hime vol 116 - 11/2021) was recently posted in English onto one of the usual places (suddenly not sure where I read it originally back in the day then if not there...hmm. No matter.) so it's been nice to see a lot of new people running across it for the first time. Also a reminder to finally pick that issue up as it's on Amazon Japan still.

I usually make a mad dash to well drawn yuri with adult characters which is what Agu was known for more prior to the green manga (tho Joe and Kanna are a nice inclusion). And an added bonus is this isn't in the office lady genre either.

Momoka (a bartender / prince type) gets into a casual relationship with Makoto (a frequent patron / player of hearts) and this continues as Momoko opens up her own bar. "Momoka" is a cute feminine name the bartender feels doesn't suit her and "Makoto" is gender neutral-to-masculine name and when she opens up her own bar they swap names as their little secret.

It seems to publically suit them both better on the surface. She even names the bar "Makoto". None of the regulars know they are involved at all. They both passively watch how the other is perceived. "Makoto-kun" has her own following a year after opening the bar. Her new name fitting her well.

"Momoka" sits on the side and watches the bartender at work.

The only thing publically staying the same for the year is "Makoto-kun" serving at the bar and "Momoka" sat off to the side watching.

"Momoka" uses the cute name when she picks up guys at the bar. She's never romantically serious and always leaving a trail of hearts. All of her bar relationships are shallow and fleeting. "Makoto-kun" is starting to feel a certain way about it.

They are both watching each other waaaaay too closely in public for it to be truly nothing between them. Past understandings aside.

Privately they are very domestic.

Privately they use their proper names with each other and that dynamic suits them very well romantically. Ahem.

But after a year of this there's friction between this public / private persona business. "Makoto-kun" feels "Momoka's" increasing affection (Agu knows how to apply the rizz to characters) and wonders if she's just getting a dose of whatever those bar patrons experience before eventually getting dumped. Meanwhile "Momoka" has obviously been breaking her own pattern by staying around for a whole year so this is different for her too.

Since this is Agu there's misunderstandings, blow ups, but also characters actually talk too and that part doesn't drag out. I mean it's a one-shot so of course nothing can drag too long, but it has a nice ending I feel.

The name exchange can trip you up in a first read through, but once you catch on to the game they're playing with names and gender it really feels perfect.

Whenever I manage to see it now, I know the script by heart and the different expressions, and how the songs are so neat and tied up, and how Anand and Roopa was my first boy next door + grumpy - sunshine himbo trope... Set my standards high like you wouldn't believe. Even Anita and Raju, who weren't even together, were couple goals and I will die on this hill

3 : which of the characters has your favorite design?

MAPLE!!! hands down. i love her very much. she was the first one who i actually saw in-game and my thought was 'cute...' - but! kanna is a close-second under that lens. i suppose my only issue w her design is how much more green there is, w little complementary color? :0 i really do enjoy designs that add in a bit more pink for her!! it adds enough variety to the palette to help her stand out. though i must admit, i'd still be biased toward maple because i really like dark reds/purples/blues contrasted with white :D

however, as for what it means for the characters, i also really do enjoy kai's! both his & reko's designs were what immediately drew me to them; i was immediately fascinated by how - despite being among colorful characters - their designs were primarily dark/with occasional red. i think for kai in particular, it does a nice job of showing how. simply he tends to 'live' & what he also asks others to focus upon: the gift the chidouins gave him. for as long as he lives, he has this to show for the chidouins' kindness of allowing him a life. everything else is meant to easily blend into darkness, &. it's difficult to describe, but i really enjoy fanart where this is. emphasized?! in the sense that the apron is what draws someone's eyes to it, but when you look just behind that, you can easily tell how. restrictive the uniform is by contrast. it's really cool to me.

26 : which YTTS pov are you most excited for and whose fondness event do you want to see with them?

i'm really excited for reko's!!! specifically - i really look forward to seeing her event with sara :'D (& alice of course, but. gestures. i'm very afraid. although there's very little you can do 'wrong' with that one as opposed to the other two povs' favored persons...)

i just. am truly fond of how reko tried to support sara before the room of lies switch happened; and afterward, how reko tried doing her best to also uphold the strength she saw sara strive for. it's less pronounced because we play as sara, but. i still appreciate the times that other adults, such as reko & q-taro & kai (which are other fondness events i'm really looking forward to), try to acknowledge/praise sara for her strength while also trying to reminder her that people will be here when she falls. they're so close to taking the responsibility from her, but for one reason or another, just... cannot. and don't wish to dismiss sara's ability (which is an insecurity sara does have, being one who must uphold responsibilities expected of her). q-taro steps up where he can, usually requesting keiji's help, and genuinely tried to comfort sara throughout ch2-1 - a lot of his attempts to help sara and make things right after shin's injustice was off-camera. and reko unfortunately wasn't given much time to really help out, what with the lingering disorientation from being captured. & of course, kai is. well. as soon as he no longer had that facade to keep up, he was dead as hell. SAD!

but i digress!!! i really enjoy reko's humor & easy-going personality, and i would love to see more of her dynamic with sara in a more casual setting; i think she'd do really well at encouraging sara and helping her come to terms with the fact that... even if her future isn't as 'set' as sara expects it to be, that's not anything necessarily bad. in a similar sense to kazumi, reko's also gone through a lot that she never expected she'd have to endure, but has come out a better person by the end of it. maybe kazumi's tale is more apt considering it had to deal with academic/future plans; but it's also very important for sara to remember that she does have the chance to really dig into hobbies and find joy in it... that, in a sense, it's important to have these things on the side that you enjoy and keep them out of a professional setting too. it'd be great to have work you love, of course! but reko had to fight to actually return to what she first loved about music at all, had to learn all over again what it meant to her, because of the expectations in the professional field. sara should have a hobby where she can let loose, people she can relax and be herself around, without having to keep those expectations... constantly using your show persona just makes it harder to connect with people. even if it's easier, it's worse for you in the long-run because... no one would get the chance to know you, what you love.

i just think it'd be really sweet for reko to show that balance of entertainment & professional future that sara wants. sara already has those sorts of reminders with jou, but it's still. very important to see it from someone who's gone through it and now knows what she's doing! jou's more someone who 'goes with the flow' and generally attends clubs to prepare for... well, anything. he wants to be a jack of all trades, in case anything he pursues falls through. it's very unstable and scary to live like that, even if he puts on his usual carefree front - cherishing the moment to moment. sara's mind doesn't often. work like that. and if she were to have more serious conversations about her future, i'm sure this would be very important to her and also bring her comfort for jou's future, too...

(& i know it's unrealistic, but... i'd really enjoy a q-taro and anzu fondness event. i'm writing one myself because i don't expect we'll ever be able to have those personal interactions with the dolls, or at least... not one that handles anzu's character well (considering the ministory forgot her introduction), but i do like thinking abt them as well :D)

(&& unrelated to the question but i'm SO sad we're not getting any further kai & mishima content. that's it. withering and dithering eternally now... it's okay i'll make more events in my brain.)

nankidai please give me more kazumi lore please please please i've never asked before. how and why does he own an atelier. please tell me specifically what direction he was overly-ambitious in, and his crash fall and burning reaction to his own overestimation. i can already assume most of this but i honestly just want to see more of him i've NEVER asked before. pretty please.
