holy holy holy shit. i understood the first time i read this, but now i’m in frc and it hits harder than it ever has before. i loved my robot spot, a lot. i miss out main bot arlo, despite having never worked on it or driven it at a competition!!!!! my fucking god. oppy 😭😭😭😭😭

this morning NASA abandoned their mars rover Opportunity (aka Oppy) because it (she) got hit by a storm on Mars and it knocked her camera and wheels out and her last words to the team were “my battery is low and it is getting cold”. I know she’s a machine but I’m devastated. Oppy is the one who discovered water on Mars. RIP oppy ily space baby

For once I am a bit ahead of schedule, but that’s just cuz the art had to be done for production in advance of Champs. Robot afficionados - It’s bag day! (well a little after but who’s counting?) At this point I’m talkin’ to FRC alums and vets. I miss bag day. I loved the clock countdown. The bag and tag. The time stamped picture, and the unwarranted relief of being ‘concluded’. But bag day is a thing of the past, sigh. So, to celebrate (belated) bag day, here is this weeks post.
