It’s that time of year again - it’s time for the FitzSimmons Secret Santa Exchange! The FS Secret Santa has been a wonderful part of our fandom’s history, and even though the show has ended I think it’s still a great way to celebrate the fandom and the holidays together. I'm sorry it took me so long to get this post out this year, time just flew by for me!

I will be using the tag #fitzsimmonssecretsanta for all of my posts regarding the exchange, so look out for announcements. You will also be using that tag when you post your gifts.

Important Dates:

Sign ups are open until Wednesday, November 22nd at midnight PST.

Participants will be notified of their assignments on Saturday, November 25th.

The first posting day for gifts is on Monday, December 25th. This gives you four weeks to work on your gift. A few weeks before December 25th, you will sign up to select a posting day so I can stagger the gifts throughout the week.

In participating in the Secret Santa exchange, you will create a fanwork for your assigned giftee. This can consist of fanfiction, gifs, graphics, moodboards, aesthetics, fanmixes, fanvids, fanart, or any other creation. Fic must be at least 1000 words in length, and all gifts must be complete when posted (unless you plan to stagger out fic chapters).

Participants must follow these rules of the exchange:

Send your entry form no later than Wednesday, November 22nd at midnight PST.

Reblog this post to spread the word!

Create an original gift for your giftee following their prompt, preferences, and the guidelines of the exchange. Your gift must be at least 1000 words or an equivalent amount of effort in another medium.

Keep your ask box open with Anon turned on.

Send your giftee anonymous asks at least once a week (questions, compliments, quotes, whatever you like!).

Post your gift and reveal your identity to your giftee on your selected posting day!

Merry Christmas from your Secret Santa @accio-the-force !  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that 2023 will be the possible year for you <3 Hope you enjoy this little fic :) FitzSimmons, rated M, 5800 words (for now) Summary: After a disastrous New Year's Eve party in their last year of university, Fitz and Simmons decide that they will, from now on, always spend New Year's Eve together as each other's platonic dates. It works well for a few years until the champagne and years of pent-up emotions pushes them to make this specific New Year's Eve date a lot more than platonic. It could be the start of something new or it might destroy their relationship entirely. Like her, he would be graduating next spring, even though he was four years older, and he hadn't been shy about his hope of getting a job in the science department in the fall. Jemma would have been fine if he'd asked her out just not to be alone and have someone to kiss at midnight. That was pretty much why she had agreed in the first place. It was nice having a date for once and, even though she didn't like Milton all that much, he was attractive, despite what Fitz said, and it would have probably been nice to kiss him. Jemma Simmons closed the door to her flat with a satisfying, loud click, then leaned against it and closed her eyes, letting out a sigh. The lights were on, and her roommate was still up. 

“Jemma?” Leo Fitz had twisted in his seat on the sofa to look over the back of it at her; his brows were drawn together in mild concern, or perhaps it was just confusion. “You’re home early,” he said. “I didn’t expect you back so soon. Or, uh… at all.”

Jemma kicked off her heels before bending to retrieve them and trudged to the sofa, flopping down next to him with another heavy sigh. “Not an awful assumption,” she told him. “I’d planned on going home with him. But then dinner happened, and I’d just had… enough.”

A faint look of alarm came over Fitz’s expression as he turned the volume on the television down and shifted in his seat to face her. “‘Enough’?”

Chapter 5: A Very Happy Christmas

Sneak Peak: Once the turkey and oranges had been returned to her and the coins for the children’s sweets exchanged, Jemma quickly dressed–being sure to adorn her hair with her favorite comb of pine needles and holly berries, packaged the food nicely in a presentable basket, and made her way out onto the merry streets of London. With every group of carolers or charity collector she passed she dropped a hearty amount of coins into their various tins. She smiled at every person she came across, wished them a very Happy Christmas, and even hummed a Christmas tune here and there until finally she reached the emerald door with a knocking-bird knocker that marked her destination.

Happy friday giftee! How have you been this week? I am very excited to be off on annual leave, something I've never had 10 days before Christmas before (the joys of working in retail) so am spending time writing your fic! I think it will have 4 chapters!!! Just one quick question are you more of a dog or a cat person? and what breed would be the one you would love to have and their name?

Wow, that's great! I hope this break brings you some much needed rest and relaxation, and a healthy amount of progress on my gift. I'm so excited to see how it turns out!

I don't think I can say one way or the other on the cats vs dogs issue. But I'll choose dog for the purpose of this fic. As for breed, I'll go with Rough Collie (also known as Long-Haired Collie) since I grew up with Lassie and the breed is of Scottish origin. I love the name Lucy.
