Long time no post! Finished some custom Iron Hands Bladeguard Veterans!
This was a fun project because, with the exception of the pauldrons and heads, these models are all 3D printed! I learned a lot about getting settings correct and how to fix misprints. I still need to practice greenstuff sculpting but I am happy with the result.
Here’s a challenge for you. What about a sexy marine from the Iron Hands chapter? (I can’t think of any named characters right now). With all those bionics, most of them look like Frankenstein. But I figure there must be a way to make all that metal more aesthetically pleasing.
Well, sexy Iron Hands guy is very good at yoga!
His gait would be quite graceful, I guess! Like a cassowary.
Been tired and frazzled all week and now that it's the weekend and I have a chance to maybe doodle something to wind down, I get a hell of a headache and my finger joints hurt for no reason.
Drawing has become my semi-daily evening feel good routine so going without is already starting to feel Real Bad.
"Who drew the first blood?" You're not asking the right question babes it's not about who made the first move it's about who made the last. It's about how neither have truly moved on.
It's about how Nico talks about Lewis and can smile about their memories because he hasn't moved on from their childhood friendship he cradles their fragile love in his heart and reaches out, willing to forgive and forget (already has) and more than ready to mend burnt bridges.
It's about how Lewis still hurts and hurts and hurts and never forgets never quite forgives, still can't say Nico's name. Can't bear to talk about their time as teammates, because he too cradles a part of their history in his heart but it's not the sweets Nico bought for him nor the ice cream they ate together (neither of which Lewis eats anymore because he's vegan now which good for him but point). It's the hurt, the pain, the heartbreak. It's the broken trust and it's Nico leaving him Formula one.
Lewis remembers their broken friendship, Nico remembers the friendship itself.
one thing I absolutely love about tumblr that only exists here is the way many people unrestrainedly pour out their thoughts and reactions in the tags when otherwise they would hesitate writing it in regular comments on other platforms and I live for it. thank you everyone for liking my latest piece, it's been 162494 years since I drew anything FE3H related and I desperately needed this. it feels like I'm back home
Hi I am Exceedingly Curious about leg theory but tumblrs search function is the only search bar that exclusively shows you things that AREN'T what you're looking for. May I have a link to an explanation of Leg Theory?
leg theory is the brainchild of the excellent and esteemed @catilinas and in short it is A Collection of Thoughts regarding Seafaring, Identity, Curses and Rituals, Sacrifice, and a Significant Leg Injury or Incident!
notable incidences of leg theory include: odysseus when scar on leg, john franklin's / thomas blanky's / ???'s legs in the terror, john silver's leg in treasure island & black sails, a good 45% of what's going on in moby dick, and that time my dad fell through a hatch on a sailboat and fractured his tibia in a way that was quite interesting for his character development.
other and perhaps more coherent explanations about leg theory can be found here, here, and here, and for Grasping At The Vibes of When It's Leg, I highly recommend perusing the 'leg theory' tags on either of the fine blogs I have linked!
I saw this tweet today and it is such a good observation because yes! The reason why Louis had never asked Lestat about his potential involvement in Paul's death and sat on that suspicion for 20+ years was that deep down, he knew it wouldn't make difference either way. He was going to stay with Lestat no matter what his answer was.
Louis sees Lestat murder his parish priest—a man Louis had known since childhood, who attended his sister's wedding and helped organize his brother's funeral, and he also heard Lestat confess to killing Miss Lily, his friend and close confidante, and STILL he said yes to Lestat's marriage proposal.
When Louis finds Lestat and Antoinette at the HO-tel and Claudia asks him if he's going to do anything about it he says, what difference would it make? Lestat's cheating will not stop Louis from being with him, nothing will really.
Louis is, of course, deeply ashamed about this, the fact that the darkness in Lestat is not a deterrent to him—quite the opposite, he can't help but be drawn to it. Lestat acts out all the impulses and desires that Louis himself feels he has to repress.
(sidenote, Benni makes the best LDPDL gifs in the fandom, I mean look at this!!!)
So is it really a surprise that Louis would, later on, stay with Armand, the guy who murdered his beloved daughter? Not really.
Not when he chooses to get back with Lestat after ep. 5 despite the fact that it condemned Claudia to a life of misery with no horizon. And when in the end, he fails to kill Lestat even though it meant Lestat could potentially come back to seek revenge against Claudia — which he does kinda, and it's part of what precipitates her death.
So yes, Louis is a terrible father, and he will always choose dick over the safety of his loved ones.
do you think you'll put "Stasis in darkness" on AO3 eventually?
see, when the idea first came to me, I hadn't really planned on doing anything with it because I wasn't sure if I could make it work. there's a level of gravitas in the relationship between a god and their devoted servant that I didn't think would translate well to steddie because, let's be real, those boys are goofy dorks. but the idea wouldn't leave me alone so I typed up the original post in an attempt to work it out of my system and move on.
(the post kind of blew up, which I was not expecting at all!! like, not even a little bit! i post all sorts of rough little ideas for my own amusement and I've been able to do that without drawing much attention until that point.)
Anyway, I wouldn't have done much with it but @acowardinmordor left some comments/tags/what have you that helped me nail down the setting in my head which really opened the door for me to explore how the story could progress. (apologies, strife, I'm not sure I ever properly thanked you for that burst of inspiration, so please accept this shoutout as an expression of gratitude). And the amazing @ent-is-indecisive allowed me to rant about it which really helped flesh out the story. Seriously, there are elements and lore coming up that would not have existed if it weren't for ent. (and thank you once again ent for the ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL fanart you made for the reveal scene, I'm still overcome with joy whenever I think about it!).
Once it got to that point, I knew I wanted it to be a self-contained story and I was afraid that if I did a multi-chapter fic I'd lose the thread and never make it to the ending I want the fic to have. (no, the end scene hasn't been written yet but I KNOW what it's going to be and I hope everyone will love it as much as i do). So I promised myself that I was not going to post it on ao3 until the whole thing was written out completely.
However, I occasionally need a confidence/motivation boost so I've been posting consecutive parts of the rough draft here. you have no idea how much the people who reblogged with tags or left comments have helped me fight off the discouragement my brain likes to bog me down with; off the top of my head, @godsweakestboy , @redfreckledwolf, @fuctacles , @spectrum-spectre , and @lawrencebshoggoth have given me lovely, enthusiastic words of encouragement. and they're only the ones I can think of at this moment. there's so many other people who've done this, so if you've ever left me nice tags or comments, please know that I've read every single one of them repeatedly whenever I need to get over a slump. I'm so grateful for all of you!
Anyway, all this is to say yes! It is going to be posted as a oneshot on ao3 once I've finished writing it. <3
