New OC Idea:
A Flesh Weaver necromancer who spends his time creating flesh golems, ghouls and similar creatures, but treats his minions like a big family. Only wishes to protect his family from being torn apart, so he's fine with killing. Plus, those that he has to kill can be brought into his family afterward. To show them that they aren't monsters but just a family trying to survive in this cold dreadful forest manor.
Also he treats all his creations akin to his own children, so yes, he'll become worried sick when he loses Henry, the 20 foot Flesh Golem that can wrestle drakes to the ground.
"Goodness Henry! I have been looking all over for you! Don't you know how worried sick I was?!"
Henry: "Hrrmm..."
"Oh! I can't stay made at you. You only wanted to explore a bit, but you must not leave without notice next time, ok?"
Henry: "Hrmmm!"
"Lovely! Oh, and I see you brought another bear to add to the family! Wonderful! Aren't you so thoughtful, you do love playing with the family pet's don't you."

Man, gotta love Toonkind DnD: where else are you going to find the ace attorney lawyers defend Gladstone Gander in a trial presided by the Joker, hmm?
Anyway, that's the rest of the art I drew for the game "The Trial of Deltasong Danger", DM'd by @modmad and with expies of beloved characters played by @samaranth-the-fleshweaver, @cartoon-kitsune, mod themself and @artist-of-obsessions :D
(I also drew this fluffy thing but it wasn't quite the same mood so it gets a separate post)

I love Eberron so much I can't wait to run a dnd campaign in Eberron like this bitch has everything: cold war politics, corporate greed, ambiguous divinities, death cults, a country run by hags, magic integrated into everyday life, a guy whose epithet is fleshweaver, an ubercursed continent, dragons who serve an ancient prophecy that preserved the world but wouldn't hesitate to squash you like a bug, I could go on
Eberron my belovèd

Next Up: Mother of Gods!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Known Name: Mother of Gods
Forgotten Name: Maradin
Titles: Princess of the Nine Hells, The Many-Eyed Void, Bringer of the Final End, Protector of Mothers and Children
Age: Over 2 million
Domains: family, motherhood, home, the hearth, childhood wonder, the undead, plants, stars, fairies, stories, space, protection, justice, joy, laughter, forgiveness, love, luck, music, carnivals, parties, feminine rage
Tumblr media
The goddess I play in our dnd universe, Mother of Gods created the forgotten realms and brought life to them, along with the first gods she created her children the Lightbringer and the Fleshweaver. Together the three of them created all sentient beings. Largely forgotten by the people now, every few millennia she inhabits a mortal body for a lifetime and usually ends up having some crazy adventures. (Vespy and Einar!) Unbeknownst to her (until recently) she had all memories about her childhood (well as much of a childhood as a goddess can have) and brother taken from her, along with all memories of her father.
Tumblr media
(again if you wanna know more about her me and my friends are working on a fic series! Link in my post about Vespera! Also I’m working on a MoG cosplay so look out for some possible photos)

VOLUMES OF VALERIAN 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Valerian the Fleshweaver is a powerful and notorious lich with a deep fascination for necromancy and interdimensional creatures. He resides in a desolate citadel, where he conducts his dark research. His most notable work, the "Skeletal Symphony of Severance," involves capturing and dissecting creatures from other dimensions to understand and harness their unique properties. Obsessed with knowledge, Valerian sees these creatures as both prisoners and subjects of wonder. He experiments on them, considering using their parts to enhance his undead minions or create new, monstrous beings. Valerian's actions contribute to a larger, unknown narrative in necromancy that spans multiple universes. His discoveries could either remain hidden in his fortress or spread, potentially sparking a new era of dark knowledge. Valerian's work is a testament to his unyielding pursuit of arcane secrets, with implications that could ripple across worlds.
Feel free to use him as you please. The intent is to create a genre savvy lich that I have an excuse to create interesting items and monsters with, with the excuse of "xenomorphs and false hydras and martians occasionally blip into his layer for him to dissect and study like a 16th century alchemist". Stats below the readmore.

Riastrad, The Undying
"It's nice to meat you."
A former priestess of Celeritas, a chance encounter turned her faith elsewhere and lead her to darker, more twisted forms of healing like light-based necromancy and Fleshweaving to chase after her ideal form.
Born as a simple farmer and eventually joining a convent in service to Celeritas, a very brief, chance encounter with Kalkia was burned into her mind and she spent the remainder of her life seeking to reach what she thought to be the pinnacle of beauty.
Where before she was content to just live in a monotonous routine of healing the sick as a mediocre-looking runt of a girl that others said she was, her exposure to something transcendental both lead to mana-poisoning and awakened a desire to be even one bit closer to that existence.
She began utilizing her light magic to experiment with hers and other people's biology in an attempt to perfect her own body and appearance. She began to be known as a beautiful, kind and benevolent healer because of how her experiments on patients often ended up with them feeling even healthier and more robust than before but that was irrelevant to her.
She came to realize how limited light-healing and magic in helping her achieve the ideal form when she eventually came to learn of Fleshweaving and its endless possibilities. Becoming a Soulweaver for the sole purpose of transitioning into Fleshweaving, she consumed her bonded spirit, Eigun, and went completely wild with her experimentation.
Hundreds are Unraveled and despite her efforts to achieve beauty with fleshweaving, her appearance usually ends up matching her own monstrous personality. She is capable of completely changing her face, height, weight and body and even gender but her vanity always has her modeling herself in the image of Kalkia or at least similar to it when she has to wear a disguise to gather more people for biomass.
Generally feared and/or reviled by all denizens of Lore, her existence is a stain on her former order and bolsters recruitment and support for The Rose. An unfortunate encounter has Sepulchure magically warding his forest to prevent others, especially her from going anywhere near him and Lynn.
Her main elemental affinity is Light and she is the very image of what you'd expect of what you'd expect of a vain, beauty-obsessed monster to be with emphasis on the monster part. When not in human-disguise, she tries to make clothes resembling Kalkia's, using connective tissue as layers for her dress and thick bundles of muscle for her faux-wings but the end result is suitably disgusting. Despite her distaste for it and desire for a graceful weapon like a rapier or other swords, she is extremely gifted in the use of all manner of axes, war hammers and halberds.
She has a rather morbid sense of humor.

Hodari (24601)
Tumblr media
“I don’t know much about this life yet. But, the day I met you in the alley was the first day I ever met people I could trust.”
Stats: leonin lion wild magic barbarian lvl 8 AC: 13, HP: 78, Init: +1 Str: 16 (+3), Dex: 13 (+1), Con: 15 (+2), Int: 10 (0), Wis: 11 (+1), Cha: 12 (+1)
Story: Hodari is an experiment by House Vadalis, #24601. During the Last War, a branch of House Vadalis, Feral Heart, privately began doing experiments magebreeding living weapons. Hodari is one such experiment. As he was trained, he was pitted against other experiments in gladiatorial feats. He was forced into agressive fits. In one such rage, he killed his mate and child, and their souls possessed his sword.
One of the exceptionally dangerous experiments performed by Feral Heart was a fleshweaving practice where he was branded on his chest with a Mark of Handling. Other experiments died during this process, but it took to him, giving him a functioning Vadalis mark. After a few years of being raised in captivity with this cruelty, The Patron approached him. He was instructed to leave the Hearth (base of operations of Feral Heart) and travel to Sharn, where he would meet the companions that would help him in his new life as a free man. The Patron released him, in exchange for total devotion.
Hodari, guided only by instinct and the encouragement of The Patron, found two members of the party in the lower wards of Sharn. When the barely sentient lion first met them, he attacked in a rage. Now, he follows their lead, moving quickly to answer any task the Patron gives, and living with a sense of wonder for a world outside of the Hearth.
“Don’t get it confused. I’m no philanthropist and I’m not just handing you your freedom. However, you look like a lot of fun. Want a job?” -Patron

going absolutely bonkers thinking about dragonfable book 4 because
i've heard rumblings that book 4 is when we finally get fleshweaver. if that's true it means 2 things (imo)
piotr and secundus have a larger part in the story
aegis...it's been confirmed iirc that in order to become a fleshweaver you'd have to "consume" aegis. i think that's vastly interesting but i also worry, because df just categorically does not give players branching narrative choices that make a lasting difference -- so that would mean that aegis probably disappears from book 4 altogether because the game just can't account for two divergent paths (either he's in a quest or he isn't)
the one potential spark of hope is that you can actually choose a faction for the tytan questlines and it leads to persistent differences in cutscenes/dialogue (although you can now reset your faction iirc.) so you could have code under the hood PERMANENTLY sorting players into like, an "aegis is alive" faction and an "aegis is consumed" faction with no opportunity to reset, which would be a really exciting next step for df's storytelling...
always on my mind: the elemental spirit in the arena of time with a scar across his nose. never not thinking about him. what does it all mean.
