Praying that y’all aren’t judging the fact I’m releasing a Halloween prompt in December. I worked to make this one nice and fluffy so,,, hurghhh just pretend people trick or treat in December or smth :D

          Nice To Trick-Or-Meet You!

If a holiday of free treats and costumes comes around, Kokichi is obviously going to join in. Candy is the only payment his loyal goons are gonna get paid with, so being the absolutely wonderful leader he is, Ouma is going trick-or-treating just for ‘em!

“Trick or Treat!”

Kokichi’s grin was as wide as possible while he waited for the goodies to be handed to him by the person in the door. He let his smile drop when they started to take too long though. He instead found the street behind him more interesting, his half-mast eyes following scrambling figures. Pairs of siblings, groups of children, the occasional run-of-the-mill passerby.

His gaze follows all the way to an upbeat kid pulling a less upbeat you by the hand. He rocks on his heels oddly giddy to have just noticed you. He’s distracted long enough to earn an exasperated voice in his direction.

Plastering a goofy grin on his childish face, Kokichi drawled out an exaggerated thank-you after taking the long forgotten candy. He pops a stray jawbreaker in his mouth as he continues to the next house, just barely catching up to you and your cousin. Did he follow you on purpose? Who knows? You’re turning around when the messy mop of purple hair fills your vision.

A clown.

“Heya! Aren’t you, hmm… (y/n)?..” Kokichi rubs his chin jokingly, taking away the fact he was still dressed up for trick-or-treating. (Which is perfectly fine for a teen, seriously guys…)

Your cousin dodged the question for you, raising their chin curiously.

“Who’re you? Are you a clown?”

“Well, I’m Kokichi Ouma! Friendly neighborhood clown!” He pauses deviously. “Maybe…”

The glint in his eye was enough to satisfy the child wrapped around your waist. But that didn’t apply to you, especially with the reputation Kokichi carries.

“Anyway… you’re right, I am. You’re Kokichi, right? In a few of my classes too I think. We never really talked all that often…” You trailed off, not really sure if he cared, but you know that you wanted to talk to him. If you’re being honest, he was really cute and his pranks could be endearing and funny to watch them play out.

“Yeah, we never talk!” Ouma’s lip began to tremble and your cousin exchanged an odd look with you. The calm before-

“WAAAUGHHH!”

-The storm.

“You’re such a meanie, thinking I don’t notice the constant looks you give me!”

Even though his (probably) fake crying was full of jest, you know he caught you when your heart skipped a beat. But before you could stutter a response, your cousin began tugging on your shirt. When you turned your attention to them, they asked if you could offer Kokichi to join you.

You did as asked and he agreed in his own dramatic-Kokichi-ways.

It wouldn’t have been known to you, but Ouma knew exactly what he was doing and in joining you and your cousin in walking house-to-house in the bittersweet weather was full-proof of that. He wanted to get to know you a little bit better, walk around and pester you gleefully. The only thing that had you all in the dark is why he even cared to come to you in the first place. Your cousin thought he was lonely and spoiler-alert!-

They’re half right!

But he also just thought you were super cute.
