Chapter 32 "Slumber Party"

Sun, Moon and their handler finally get some desperately-needed sleep.

The endoskeletons slowed to a groaning, grating halt, the red of their optics casting blood-red beams in the near darkness. They stamped down the corridor in slow, jagged paths, twitching as if they’d touched live electricity, their uncanny stillness dissolving under what looked like almost desperate aggression. They wanted to hurt something. They wanted it so badly their limbs shook like they were dragging weight far beyond what their pillar-like limbs could carry.

And she was wedged between two flimsy wooden crates only a few feet away. Spec-bloody-tacular.

The memory of Monty carving a chunk of sheet rock from the wall the size of a human ribcage filled the space behind her eyes like a punch in the face. There was no fighting these things. These things were what lived inside Monty. They were all razor edges and devastating, rock-cleaving might.

Her meagre human bones stood no chance.

Head made up of 4 layers:

Back panel

Rotator plate

Skull

Face plate

The rotator plate has 9 pistons to retract and extend the rays; each piston has a ball joint at the tip, allowing the rays to 'flick'; while the base of the pistols have limited movement (allowing the rays to sway). The inner section of the rotator plate can spin in both directions. The skull has small heat pads in the cheeks to mimic blushing. The skull has 20 'teeth' that flick along with speech. This used to be the original music box before the face plate was changed and the new music box was added. The back panel holds the motherboard, with 7 different sections:

A battery pack

A grey switch with two light bars above it and two charging ports

A section of wires separated into three with two USB ports under

Three coloured switches; yellow, red and blue (to force change between settings)

Two buttons labeled with circles, one filled and one an outline (disables the light detection)

A large button, two ports and two connector casings

A small connector with two wires and a single port

Above the motherboard is a large speaker. Under section 6 are three lights. These lights flicker depending on information being sent and which setting is active (sun, moon or eclipse). If all lights are red, a malfunction is happening. An extra, back-up battery is built onto the lower back of the endoskeleton. Inside the body shell, Two compartments can be found; Aromatic canisters (x5) and candy dispensers (x6). In the chest cavity, Moon's music box plugs directly into the endoskeleton along with the voice box. The upper arms of the endoskeleton have two batteries connected into the spiraling wires on the forearms.

A full page of Springtrap's "Anatomy" doodles for all you springlock enjoyers out there.

Initially I just wanted to draw a ref for myself, so I traced Springtrap's outline off of my laptop screen (twice) and drew over them. This was mostly done to 'get a feel' for the character since I wanted to get better at drawing them. Then I went ham adding details inspired by lore, springlock videos, and fan theories, along with some of my own ideas. I looked up multiple references for the endoskeleton too. Nakey Springtrap is funny.

Eventually I want to draw each layer properly in better detail, with in-depth descriptions, and do a better job of making sense of the springlock mechanism. Consider this a rough draft.

I went through and tidied up each and every letter and did my best to recreate the background from the preview. Also I inverted the colors and went with a blueprint style to mask the creepiness of the original, which can be seen below. vvv

Week 4/16: I'm back from my break, and I'm personally really happy with how I transformed each of the withered animatronics (plus Endo-02) into pixel art designs.

Some parts look a little weird if you look too closely, but that's common with pixel art, especially something this detailed for its size. It definitely looks better when not viewed in a close up.

Next week's characters are looking a little...green. This isn't a colour scheme that's going to be easy to work with, that's for sure.

Back after a short break with the second arc of SCaMT, complete with movie-poster-ish new fanfic cover art! Far from perfect, but loads better than my first attempt back in November.

i feel like based on his only environment (the fazbear frights attraction), springtrap would just 'think' someone placed horror/halloween decorations in him when he saw himself without his mask/head. like the only place he knows is decorated to hell, he cant remember anything about his person (or that he was/is one) or past, all he knows is that this is his place, there's tacky horror decor everywhere and he's somehow part of it- he knows nothing more, so the only dots he could potentially connect are these. bro thinks he is party city.
