already 100% sold. this not so little detail gets left out so much when we talk about our folk origins. how much of the greater appalachian culture and dialect is owed to the influence and direct contribution of the Black community should not be understated, but unfortunately it usually is
like just for example, its wild to me how so many folks dont even know the banjo, which pretty much everyone instantly associates with hillbilly shit and appalachian/traditional southern folk, is actually an african instrument!
