From the first draft of the corpo!val longfic...

“Good afternoon, welcome. Are you checking in?”

He steps forward to the counter, releasing his touch on Val at last. “Yes. Mitch and Valerie Anderson.”

“Yes, Mr. Anderson, I see your reservation here: four weeks in our lovely Morro suite. It is fully stocked one bedroom with full service kitchen and balcony with a water view.”

“One bedroom?” he falters; he’s certain Val told him there would be two.

“Yes, sir. Is that a problem?”

His eyes slide over to Val as the visual distortion increases and more hormones pump into his system. She squeezes his bicep as she steps up to the counter.

“I believe we had a reservation for your two bedroom suite. I adore my husband,” she says, pausing to look up at him with a sweet smile, and her touch grounds him somewhat. “But this man snores like a fleet of AVs. If I have to share a bedroom with him, I will be suing you to pay for our divorce, and for damages.”

Val’s face lights up as she laughs and he follows her lead, throwing his head back and guffawing. 

“Please, for the sake of my marriage,” he says, still chuckling as he turns back to the receptionist. “Don’t wanna test that prenup.”

Val laughs and swats him with her other hand.

“Let me see what I can do,” the receptionist says and smiles politely. She resumes typing and moments later looks up at them. “I apologize for that oversight. I do have a two bedroom suite available. There will be a slight price difference.”

Mitch waves his hand dismissively. “Whatever Valerie wants, she gets.”

She gives a laugh that he can describe as sultry as she leans into him, and he slides his organic hand down her back to her waist, pulling her tight against his side. 

“Of course, sir. We have adjusted our records. One moment please.”

A new alert pops up in the corner of his HUD, SCAN INITIATED, and it’s time for the first real test of the soft. The new deck from Vik shows the data being received by the scanner:

MITCHELL ANDERSON DOB: 2028-04-29 NATIONALITY: NUSA .... 

The data flowing from his deck matches the info packet passed on by Val and he releases the breath he’s been holding. He glances over at Val who’s watching him, and he gives her a lopsided smile and presses a kiss to her forehead. The chemicals taper off and the disorientation plateaus but he continues to focus on Val, on the feel of her against his side and the soft skin of her arm under his calloused fingertips.

“Very well, you are all checked in,” the receptionist says. “Please let us know if there is anything you require, otherwise please enjoy your stay.”

“Thank you,” Val says with a warm smile, and he nods with an awkward smile.

When the valet directs them away from the desk, Mitch finally releases his grip on Val’s waist and follows her to a bank of elevators.

Thinking about the Dutchman’s crew some more, sketching a bit, and definitely pinning them as a found family. Who doesn’t love a bit of peg-leg Luca? I sure do. He’s literally part electric eel (he named it Lorenz), and all the more of a maniac for it. The crew consists of Grace, Luca, Norton, and Mary, which is relatively small but enough to start with for me until I get a good foundation. Plus they’re the only critical ones.

While Norton isn’t a pleasant guy since the loss of his heart, he also isn’t completely cruel either. He knows that his crew trusts him enough to abide by their command, even if they may be a bit chaotic and unkempt around the edges.

Hi! I'm super new to IDV and keep seeing a lot of art (official and fan) with Fools Gold and Alice! I love it all, but I was wondering is there a canon or fanon reason for their connection, or is it just a ship that developed based on their personalities? :)

EEYYYYYY~ I would LOVE for nortalice to be canon but I will be shocked if they make any coupling canon outside of psychologist (Ada Mesmer) and patient (Emil) and if they throw in Geisha's husbando and AKA mostly those who were already coupled before the manor games~

But I personally think there is potential there~ the Da Capo game (the one they are concentrating on in the main story) heavily leans on the Greek Lore of Orpheus and Eurydice~ with the cast consisting of The confirmed roles are these two: Orpheus: Novelist Eurydice: Alice/Journalist then the potential roles are as follows: Hades: Norton/Prospector/Fool's Gold Persephone: Melly/Entomologist not sure where Frederick goes, he will probably throw a wrench into this entire thing LOL

EDIT: So technically Melly and Norton could fall for each other cause of Hades and Persephone (I wouldn't be opposed to that either honestly cause that ship is my second love LOL I don't necessarily see them as romantic but I wouldn't be upset if they got together cause of the hades and persephone thing. plus whenever they are in anything together they are constantly memeing on the other and trying to get ahead at the cost of the other loool so I think they meme on each other a little too much for things to get romantical lol but who knows they could prove me wrong one day)

BUT WE AREN'T HERE TALKING ABOUT NORTMELLY RIGHT NOW LOL right now is NORTALICE TIME LOL

but I love em cause of their personalities and I feel like they would balance each other pretty well~

for example, Alice with her OCD would be calmed by Norton's matter of fact and 'it will be fine just work hard' view on things. ((that is what helps me with my OCD anyways lol is someone I trust taking my hands and saying its fine) I have an entire post about hand movements and I went into how Norton's movements are quick and precises and deliberate and Alice would need that for grounding 👀 While Norton needs a gentle touch cause that would be so unfamiliar to him that it would make him stop in his tracks I think~)) ANYWAY OFF TOPIC

Then vice versa with Norton and his gloom view on the world and Alice comes in with optimism and cheery-ness lol. She will protect her lil grumpy people LOL

So I guess to answer your question, its definitely on their personalities and completely based on potential~ The potential and nuance is there with what we know about them so far and there is the hope that Norton will turncoat in the story, with Melly convincing him to help her save Alice 👏👏 I just like adding the little bit of spice of 'you two get together and heal together okay' I feel like they would balance each other out well~

Norton needing that softness and Alice needing that wall to lean on. And I think they would work so well together~

also I have no idea why they keep having Alice looking so down bad for Fool's Gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣BUT I LOVE IT SO DARN MUUCCHH LOOOOL (and added to the fuel for this raging fire that is my love for Nortalice)👏👏👏🤌🤌🤌🤌💞💞💞but it has me LAUGHING at the fact that on hallucinogens drugs she STILL sees Norton as a knock out BABE -WHEEEZZEEE-

It has been decided that in the Darksider Ahsoka AU, to balance out and foil our newly Dark Ahsoka, there's also going to be Fulcrum Barriss.

Fulcrum Barriss who was THERE to make sure her Master survived Order 66, who refused to run even when Luminara told her to and got them both out alive until they end up bumping into Rex and his little gang of rebels and Rex could probably help lead them to Bail Organa, as well.

Fulcrum Barriss who wants to help rescue as many Jedi as she can and has maybe heard rumors of a place in the Mustafar system where Jedi have been getting taken to die and decides to run a rescue mission there. Fulcrum Barriss who manages to come out of Nur with Trilla and Reva in tow.

Fulcrum Barriss who takes on continuing Reva's training (Luminara's helping with Trilla) because there's just... no one left and Reva wasn't even a PADAWAN yet, she still needs more basic training anyway, something Barriss is qualified to handle. But once Luminara Knights her, Barriss happily takes on Reva as her first Padawan.

Fulcrum Barriss who connects with the Ghost Crew and provides support for Kanan and Ezra, who has them meet Luminara because Kanan deserves to have the support of a Master, too, even if he's committed to teaching Ezra himself.

Fulcrum Barriss who wasn't involved in the bombing of the Temple, but who HAD cared about Ahsoka and considered her a friend and was hurt by her betrayal, but still believes Ahsoka could be better and wants so badly to help her.

Fulcrum Barriss who treats Ahsoka kindly and with patience when Ahsoka makes her way to Echo Base after Malachor and starts working on making better choices, on clawing her way back from the Dark. Fulcrum Barriss who can't help but remember the crush she'd had on Ahsoka all those years ago, the feisty brave impulsive creative young Padawan who'd saved them on Geonosis.
