It took me more than a decade and several playthroughs to realize that having Edgeworth say he picked up the gun in the boat without thinking mirrors the way he did the same thing with the one in the elevator.

I feel like not enough people are highlighting the fact that not only did James Somerton monetize his apology video (!!) but he claims he's going to give all the money he makes to Hbomberguy's team to distribute which like, if he does it great?? BUT ALSO this suggests that a) he has no idea who he's plagiarized from or how many there are and b) he is completely unwilling to work it out!!!!! So he's just going to piggyback off of all Harry's work!!!!!!! JAMES!!!!!!!!
and then he also says, or maybe I'll donate it charity, because this way he has an out when he doesn't actually give any money to anybody.

Say what you want about Ulf but he’s really helping foster a sense of camaraderie among the rest of the dragonriders – mostly because they all want to rip his tongue out with their bare hands, but helping nonetheless.

So something I love about Wazzer Goom is the fact that, in media res, she's a full blown heretic. She's extremely religious, she's extremely pious, AND her belief system towards the end of the book is predicated on the fact that the church Is Wrong, and she Is Right.
The fact that she actually is right doesn't change the fact that this is the dictionary definition of heresy. And I love it. We Stan A Heretic
However, I think it's interesting! Polly's narration frames the end of Nugganatic Law as a sort of undisputed good within the culture, and the Zlobenian ambassador to Ankh Morpork says that the ban on Nugganatic Churches in Zlobenia was similarly well-received towards the beginning of the book, but I wonder how true that is, at least in the short term. We know there are people, and institutions, with power derived from Nugganatic Law. I find it hard to believe that those people are going to be as willing to let go of the control they have over their communities; and I suspect they would defend that power using the same communities they derive it from.
Who's to say Nugganatic preachers aren't warning their congregations post-book away from The Heretic, Wazzer Goom? She's dangerous. She's insane.
What I'm saying is that Borogravia is due for a schism, big time. And I personally can't wait to see it

there's something quite charming about the 2012-ish era of fic where the author is keen for us to know that "shallow, silly girls might fancy thor but i - an intellectual - can find it in my heart to fancy this absolute minger"
aye hen that's very deep of you. it's all about the philosophical discussions you'd be having.
