pt XI good omens season 1 finale I'M SORRY THIS IS LATE, I WAS READING FANFIC.
How is this a title I'm now forced to write. Yes, I know it's been a week since I finished episode 6 with you maggots. And today is the day we start season 2. However, I, the Official Good Omens Mascot, procrastinated writing part XI, because I was reading too much good omens fanfiction. Yesterday I do believe I was reading till 3 in the morning. Thanks guys.
Season 1 finale, or whatever I can figure out with my records of the watch along chat, at least. WAHOO.
[EDIT: I'm back at the intro after finishing this post, and I realised this is a very long summary, because most of it is me yelling at you guys. As I typed it I started reliving my rage of last week. Read on if you dare, yes the post is long, and yes the second half is in all caps. THIS TOOK EMOTION. YOU GUYS BETTER REBLOG IT INSTEAD OF LIKING IT SILENTLY WHILE LAUGHING AT MY PAIN. I WANT MY RAGE EVERYWHERE ON TUMBLR.]
Someone puts a message about how Crowley can no longer sense Aziraphale's presence, and again for some reason covers it with black. My reaction is of course horrified, and then everyone tells me to STOP CLICKING THE SPOILERS, ASMI.
So that's what that was. I realise this out loud, and everyone is ready to cry with exasperation. I explain to them very reasonably that while I don't read every message on the watch-along chat, every time there is a black message I assume it's important and I click on all of them to reveal the text.
Realising the spoiler function has backfired, as most things do with me, the chat sighs and everyone goes for a break. Then someone puts another blacked out message about the bookshop, and I react to that, leading to another blacked out message which simply says STOP CLICKING THE BLACK.
Oops, I already forgot. THE SPOILERS ARE JUST TOO CLICKY. CLICK CLICK CLICK. I HAVE TO CLICK ALL OF THEM.
Someone says I forgive you, Asmi. I reply with Don't bother, which leads to tears and threats to stab me. The chat maggots give up and we start episode 6.
There is a random flashforward. I don't understand what is happening, but then again, I never do.
Back at the airfield. Crowley walks in, recognises their hubby instantly, and takes charge sexily. Then the Bentley bursts into flames.
Crowley is heartbroken. No one comforts them. When I point this out (read, YELL IT AT THE CHAT IN DEVASTATION) someone tells me that this is how it always is.
APPARENTLY DAVID WAS TOLD TO THINK ABOUT THE TARDIS EXPLODING IN THAT MOMENT. I HATE THAT I KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS.
Crowley needs all the therapy. Someone says kinder fanfic authors give it to him. LIES, I point out, FIRST THEY GIVE HIM EVEN MORE REASON FOR THERAPY. THEN GIVE HIM THERAPY.
Everyone is yelling about a fanfic called demonology while Adam the Antichrist feels so weird at Aziraphale being inside someone that's not Crowley that he separates them in the First Bigeneration style. Doctor Who is inspired.
Aziraphale like the babygirl he is, tries to girlboss his way through the situation by making Crowley murder the kid.
Pepper FUCKING STABS WAR IN THE NAME OF FEMINISM WITH THE SWORD OF EDEN AND THEN OTHER TWO KIDS END THE OTHER HORSEPERSONS IN THE NAME OF HOMECOOKED MEALS AND ECOFRIENDLINESS AND WHAT THE FUCK THESE KIDS ARE TWELVE WHAT PERCY JACKSON LEVEL OF BADASSERY-
Crowley and Aziraphale give a half-assed attempt at a father-son (gn) talk with the Antichrist as the world is ending. It is a terrible contribution to saving the world. The Antichrist thankfully has inherent common sense, because he wasn't raised by them.
Aziraphale tries to overshare his and Crowley's meetcute and has to be shushed by an embarrassed Crowley who is trying to keep them alive.
Satan is supposed to arrive. I mistakenly assume Gabriel is actually Satan. Which pleases a lot of people.
Gabriel and Beezlebub talk and blame Crowley and Aziraphale (who contributed exactly JACK SHIT to averting the apocalypse).
I kind of ship Gabriel and Beezlebub after seeing them interact for 30 seconds, which for some fucking reason leads to a lot of reactions and yelling. I want them to be together. Which leads to more yelling. PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS NOT ACTUALLY CANON?
Satan arrives. Antichrist disowns him. Through the power of Manifestation, Law of Attraction and Positive Thinking, Adam is now no longer the Antichrist, Satan leaves, none of this happened and the BENTLEY AND BOOKSHOP ARE SAVED.
NO ONE IS FUCKING HUGGING CROWLEY. I'M GOING TO STAB A BITCH.
There is the bus stop scene Crowley asks Aziraphale to move in with him and they hold hands I DON'T FUCKING KNOW BY NOW THE CHAT HAS DESCENDED INTO CHAOS I'VE LOST MY BRAINCELLS.
ICE CREAM DATE AND SUDDEN INVASION AND I'M WATCHING THE ACTING AND I'M LIKE HANG ON A SECOND SOMETHING IS OFF AND I ASK SUDDENLY IF THEY SWITCHED.
THAT'S RIGHT, I ASK IF THEY SWITCHED. I KNEW THERE WAS A SWITCH AND I THOUGHT IT WAS MIDWAY THROUGH SEASON 2. BUT THE SIGNS ARE TOO MANY HERE. EVERYONE IS NOW YELLING AND PEOPLE KEEP IGNORING ME.
ALL THE ACTING IS FLIPPED I'M NOT BLIND YOU FUCKERS. AZIRAPHALE'S FACE IS DOING CROWLEY'S COULDNT-CARE-LESS EXPRESSION AND HE'S QUESTIONING HEAVEN AND CROWLEY'S TALKING HAS LESS CONSONANTS THAN USUAL AND NO CROWLEY SASS MORE AZIRAPHALE SASS IT'S THE SAME BACKGROUND AS THE NOSE-SCRUNCH SCENE AND SURELY THAT WAS AZIRAPHALE RIGHT.
EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING ME TO WAIT AND SEE. I KEEP YELLING THAT THEY MUST HAVE SWITCHED.
SOMEONE SAYS I'M EITHER A MADMAN OR A GENIUS. I TELL THEM I'M BOTH BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT DID THEY FUCKING SWITCH.
I'M NOW QUESTIONING MYSELF BECAUSE EVERYONE ISN'T LYING BUT THEY'RE MAKING ME QUESTION MY REALITY SO THE CLASSIC GASLIGHT GATEKEEP GIRLBOSSING.
I'M YELLING ABOUT HOW ONLY AZIRAPHALE WOULD BE POLITE ABOUT JACKETS AND SURVIVE HOLY WATER. EVERYONE IS LAUGHING AT ME. I'M NOW 60% SURE I'M WRONG.
PEOPLE KEEP YELLING WAIT AND SEE AND TALKING ABOUT SADIE AND DOTTIE I HATE IT HERE.
CROWLEY IS IN HEAVEN THAT WAS HIS DISMISSIVE LOOK I'M NOW 90% SURE I'M RIGHT. I'M YELLING ABOUT IT.
ADAM LEAVES THE GARDEN IN A METAPHOR AND THEN AZIRAPHALE AND CROWLEY SWITCHED BACK. THEY SWITCHED BACK. I WAS FUCKING RIGHT. I AM LIVID. I AM YELLING.
IT'S VERY EMOTIONAL AND NIGHTINGALES AND THEY TOAST THE WORLD AND I'M VERY EMOTIONAL BUT I'M COPING BY THREATENING MURDER BECAUSE I WAS FUCKING RIGHT.
THE END.
SEE YOU GUYS TODAY AT SEASON 2 I GUESS GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

Royal Pain Part 3
Hello! I was going to post this yesterday but I thought I would be busier for WIP Wednesday which only two people participated in (sad author noises). And then I was waffling about putting up a meta about Steve’s parents (I ended up just saving it in my ‘bit of everything’ file). And then I realized it was super late and should put this up before I forget again.
This next part is for @weirdandabsurd42 who mentioned being excited to see Wayne and was thusly added (because I almost forgot to put him there, oops!), thereby creating one of my favorite lines I’ve ever written so...thanks!
Part 1 Part 2
***
Steve closed up his shop with a spring in his step and a grumpy Robin following behind.
“I can’t believe you are dragging me to a metal concert,” she groused as she locked the door behind her.
“You don’t have to come,” Steve said with a grin. “You can stay home on a Saturday, all by yourself with a pint of ice cream and the latest rom-com.”
Robin glared at him. “You know that I have to come with you so you don’t throw yourself at Eddie.”
Steve rolled his eyes as they walked to his car. “I’m not going to throw myself at him.”
Robin clutched her hands to her chest. “Oh that’s right I forgot! You already have!”
Steve glared at her. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“No?” she asked, sliding into the car. “So what do you call offering to do his back tattoo?”
Steve already in the car, hit his head on his steering wheel. “Fucccckkkk.” He hit it over and over. “Why did I do that? Why did he agree? What am I going to do?”
Robin rubbed his back. “I think this is good thing for you. If you do well on his wings then you can start doing large pieces again. And if not, then you know it’s not something you can do and you’ll never do another one ever again.”
Steve sighed and wrapped his arms around the steering wheel. “I just wanted him to like me.”
“As person, as friend or as a boyfriend?” Robin asked seriously.
“All of the above?” Steve said raising his head to look at her. “Apparently the first one has been met. I’d take the second one, but I would love the last one more than anything.”
“Well this weekend will be a great opportunity to test the waters and see how he feels. Because even if he wants to be friends now, there’s still a chance he might want something more in the future. Just don’t bank on it.”
Steve nodded. “Yeah.” He took a deep breath. “Yeah, okay.” He turned the key and pulled out of their parking lot.
“This would be a good time to get a couple of apprentices of your own,” she said after a few miles of silence. “You’re going to be spending a lot of hours on Eddie’s tattoo and you’re going to need someone to pick up the slack.”
Steve let out a shuddering sigh. “I know. I’ll start putting out feelers in the community and see what’s out there.”
Robin nodded. “We’ll put up filers at the local colleges and universities as well as putting it up on our website. I’ll talk to Will and see what he can come up with for both.”
“I know he’ll turn it down but offer him the usual rates for that sort of thing,” Steve agreed.
Robin laughed. “Fingers crossed he’ll accept this time.”
*
Eddie walked into his apartment and flopped face first into his couch. It had been such a whirlwind day. He wasn’t even sure he could function. That really was the downside to having a full time gig. Having all this free time.
Because yeah, Eddie and the rest of Corroded Coffin practiced nearly every day, and they were always coming up with new music, it just wasn’t the same as full time job. He didn’t have to do anything but show up and perform two nights a week. He could phone it in if he wanted.
Not that he would. Just...that he could. Which meant on days when his head was spiraling he could stew for days and never leave this couch.
He rolled over and pulled out his phone and dialed that familiar number.
“Munson residence!” came the gruff familiar voice.
“When are you going to at least get a caller ID, old man!” Eddie crowed.
“Shut it, boy,” Wayne growled. “I have one and it works just fine, the greeting is polite. Something I thought I raised you better in.”
Eddie giggled. “You love me.”
“Lord help me, but I do,” Wayne agreed. “You calling to talk or to listen?”
It was something that they had established long before Eddie left Hawkins to live on his own in the big city. Long before before Eddie took three years to graduate. Long before Al Munson abandoned his son on his baby brother’s door step for one last job. A job that would land him in prison. They had this code. Well, not really a code.
Just this thing between them. When Eddie had a rough day, he would call Wayne. But depending on the swirling of emotions going through his head, sometimes he just need to hear Wayne talk about his day. Gossip about his neighbors. Let the words flow over him until he felt at ease enough to go to sleep.
Other nights, though. The really bad ones. The ones where Eddie needed advice, he would talk. Sometimes Eddie would figure it out on his own, other times he would need Wayne to give him advice. This was one of those nights.
“Talk,” Eddie breathed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Wha’cha got, Ed?” Wayne asked gently.
And Eddie just let it all spill out. The tattoos, Steve, the band, feeling like they had stagnated.
“That’s a lot on your plate, boy,” Wayne said. “I can see why you wanted to share.”
Eddie let out a shuddering sigh. “I don’t know what to do about...well any of it to be honest.”
Wayne hummed. “When was the last time you went out and did something fun? Something for just yourself? And don’t say get a tattoo because that’s part of the tangled mess right now.”
Eddie blinked. When was the last time he had gone out for drinks, saw a movie, or even listened to music other than his own? “I’m not sure.”
“Well there you go,” Wayne said. “Creativity isn’t endless, boy. It’s a well and you’re going through a drought because you aren’t taking in any influences other then that feedback loop you’re on.”
“Oh.”
“It doesn’t have to be with your friends or even that boy you’ve got your eye on,” Wayne explained. “Just go out and have fun for yourself, ya hear?”
“Yeah,” Eddie said, already feeling lighter. “Thanks, Uncle Wayne.”
“Rest well, okay?” Wayne murmured.
“You too.”
*
Jeff shook his head and rolled his eyes as he watched Eddie play with his rings, his knee bouncing up and down.
“Chill!” Gareth growled. “For fuck’s sake. We are professionals, we’ve done this twice a week for years. What’s got your panties in a twist this time?”
Jeff wagged his eyebrows. “This time pretty boy Steve Harrington is going to be in the crowd. With a girl no less.”
“She’s gay,” Eddie bit out. “A literal flaming lesbian. I just have to pass the best friend test with her. And considering she wanted me to get his number, I’m pretty sure I don’t have to work that hard.”
“I noticed you didn’t deny that you’re nervous about Pretty Boy being in the audience tonight,” Brian teased.
Eddie threw up his hands in the air and leapt to his feet. “All right, yeah. I’m nervous. Even when I did have boyfriends that would show up, I knew they liked the music. But I have no idea if Steve is just being nice or if he’s actually interested in hearing us play.”
Jeff cocked his head. “Yeah, I can see how you might be worried he won’t like it. But if he doesn’t, isn’t better you know that now, before your feelings get in too deep?”
Eddie’s lip quivered. “Yes. I mean, of course. But it still makes me feel like crawling out of my skin, okay?”
“Okay,” Gareth said. “So do what you do best and throw yourself into the music. Let it wash over you. You are a consummate performer. So kick ass.”
Eddie nodded and the nod slowly turned into a head bang with him playing air guitar. By the time the knock came to let them know it was time, Eddie was ready to go out there and rock.
*
Steve hadn’t been to The Nightmare Holes before. It hadn’t even been on his radar at all. That was so weird, especially since it was almost literally doors down from Robin and his favorite club.
Well that was until they were dropped off in front of a large concrete building that didn’t look like a bar from the outside at any stretch of the imagination. In fact the only thing that stuck out at all was a neon sign with a large arrow pointing to a set of stairs leading down proclaiming this to be The Nightmare Holes.
When they got into the bar, Steve realized that they were going to stick out like a sore thumb. With Steve looking prep and Robin looking punk, they were going to be murdered before Eddie even got on stage.
They were saved by a goddess if you believed Robin later. This pretty woman in a tank top and tight leather pants with four inch heeled boots came up to them.
“Hey!” she greeted warmly. “You must be Stevie, right?”
Steve nodded. “I’m afraid you’re one up on me. You know me, but I don’t know you.”
She smiled much to Robin’s chagrin. “I’m Miranda, girlfriend of the rhythm guitarist, Jeff Lawrence. He was worried that Eddie might have forgotten to tell you that wearing your usual clothes might make you stand out.” She waved her hands at them. Both Robin and Steve blushed. “You aren’t too bad actually. I was think you would be much worse the way Jeff was going on.”
“He only saw us at work,” Robin explained once she picked her jaw up off the ground. “He might have assumed that we wear that on the regular.”
Miranda nodded. “You can do this one of two ways. Stay dressed as you are as big middle finger to conformity no matter who’s conforming to what or you come with me and I can tweak your looks enough that you don’t stand out as much.”
Steve looked down at his clothes and tilted his head. “I think I’m going to give conformity the middle finger, thanks. I’ve been bucking what people think a tattoo artist should look like for years. I’m not going to change that for one little concert.”
Miranda nodded appreciatively. “Good on you. How about you, princess? You gonna give conformity the middle finger, too?”
Robin looked down at her clothes and blushed. “I think most metalheads would say a punk is being a step too far.”
Miranda laughed. “You’re probably right. Let’s go see if I can metal you up a bit.”
The two ladies came back a few minutes later. Robin still had her chunky jewelry and smudged makeup. But her billowy plaid pants were replaced by tight black jeans and instead of her vest, she wore a black jacket. Her hair had been tamed to a more relaxed style.
Steve grinned at her. “Looking good, Robs!”
Robin blushed. “I made a new friend.”
Miranda laughed. “Thanks for that.” She looked around and then leaned forward conspiratorially. “Just a little secret between us new besties.”
Steve and Robin shared a glance, but both nodded.
“I don’t like metal music, either,” she whispered and winked. She turned around so she faced the stage. “But I’m here because my Jeffie does. So if you don’t like the music, because hey, you might not, don’t sweat it. They put on a good show and we’re here for them.” She jutted her chin up at the stage just as the house lights went down and the stage lights went up.
Standing the spotlight was Eddie. He wore a slashed up band shirt, tight jeans, and his leather jacket. A jacket Steve was about to learn wasn’t going to feature long. About twenty minutes into the show, the jacket was gone and Steve could see a peek of the new tattoo through the slits in the shirt.
He licked his lips slowly. Ooh...that was tantalizing. And then Eddie threw caution and his shirt to the wind and everyone saw Eddie’s new tattoo.
Robin turned to Steve wide-eyed. “Holy shit, it blends seamlessly into the rest of the tattoos, like it was there first.”
Miranda peered around Robin to look at Steve, too. “Yeah, man. You did a hell of a job. You should be proud of that.”
Steve was. No doubt. But he was prouder of the fact that Eddie wanted everyone to see it. It melted his heart and settled at the base of his spine, like he had drank a cup of hot chocolate all at once.
And that was when Steve realized he would do anything for Eddie. Even if that meant just being friends.

My new favorite line? * “Lord help me, but I do,” Wayne agreed. “You calling to talk or to listen?” * It’s just so...Wayne, you know?

a day late because yesterday i was tooooo busy! some spoilers in here for dungeon meshi and saltburn!
listening: mostly background stuff. i still haven't played more nier: automata but the boyf got me listening to the soundtrack and it whips.
reading: more tgcf at night to soothe my frenzied brain to sleep. i finished dungeon meshi yesterday!! i did cry!!! it was so, so good, i loved it. i really liked that there was no set antagonist, per se, at least not until the very end with the fight against the winged lion, it was all just a bunch of characters with different but justifiable goals that had their aims all butting up against each other. very cool. i love kabru what a little shit
a collection of some good screenshots:
watching: many things this week. my partner is visiting for the week and we like to have videos on while we're cooking n eating so we watched...essentially the entirety of weird history food channel, started with the trader joes one and spiraled from there.
youtube
we also watched the currently-released episodes of dungeon meshi. very charming. i cannot wait to see how they animate certain scenes.
on sunday night we did a friend dinner, so me and my boyfriend, roommate and hers, and one other friend; after dinner we movie night-ed it and watched saltburn and blazing saddles:
saltburn was insane! apparently there is shock and alarm at the sex scenes, which i am not very online about it so i have no idea what people are actually saying but imo it was not that crazy. there is a solo, uh, let's call it Moment towards the end of the film that is pretty out there, but besides that the sex scenes are the least of anyone's worries in this movie. it took me WAY too long to realize that the main character was the antagonist, i'm normally pretty savvy to those kinds of twists so that took me off guard. my roommate had seen it once (or even twice?? i think?? i have no wish to watch that movie again, good for her though) and i didn't start clocking it until immediately before felix tricked oliver into going home. as they were in the car i was like "there's no fucking way that he lied about his family to felix. right. right??" oops. some good cool symbolism in there, i had a bit of an xkcd "of course everyone knows this myth" moment when my roommate was like "huh i wonder if there's a symbolic reason for the bull-man statue in the maze at the end, or felix's angel wing costume" and i was like surprise pikachu. the minotaur, the labyrinth, icarus, hello? wdym you don't know the story of the minotaur??? much to think about with this movie. i searched it on tumblr and feel like a lot of people missed the point in favor of blorbo romance but like, fair, it is the blorbo romance website. 8.5/10.
blazing saddles was our palette cleanser after that doozy of a film. my friend said at the end "anyone who thinks this movie is racist needs better media literacy" and i'm inclined to agree. yes the n word is in there - but the people saying it are so unambiguously depicted as insanely stupid and wrong, and the leading man is a charismatic handsome black man, and tbh the smartest person in the movie? arguably more homophobic (the end scenes) than racist but even then the way 'f*ggot' is deployed hit me like modern tumblr humor.
youtube
idk. even though it's a comedy it is Very clear to me that a message from this movie is "Racism Bad". i thought it was fun, didn't find the blonde lady's musical number very good or funny, got a few chuckles out of it overall. classic mel brooks. 7/10.
playing: wizord101.
making: started experimenting with english paper piecing! i forgot to take a picture yesterday so ill try to remember and add that later today. or maybe for next week's post. also started a pair of fingerless gloves for my mom
eating: my boy made us all a budae-jjigae type object on sunday and it was so so so yummy - photo from before simmering for like 30 minutes, with pork belly, spam, tofu, and a bunch of mushrooms, grunions, and kimchi:

before my roommate came back from a conference we did this cabbage and thin-sliced hotpot beef thing that was. so fucking good. we had it two separate nights in a row. just layering meat and napa cabbage and then cutting into ~2in strips, laying them in a pot, filling the center with mushrooms; make a broth of soy sauce/dashi/misc soup stock powder from leftover ramen, pour it over, simmer til cooked baby. delicious. this image is a little steamy bc i tried to take it right after opening the pot, lol

misc: wough. struggling to get back into the routine a little. i need to make more spreadsheets for my agonies (apartment hunting and determining what internships/programs to apply to for this summer). and i need to start using my planner again because i keep forgetting to do shit.

forgot to write my entry last night oops ! but yesterday was my first day of school and it was pretty nice. I couldnt sleep the night before though. But anyways, i ended up getting to school late after an hour and a half long bus ride. For some reason, my bus driver went through the bus loop for my school but didnt think to stop? So at the exit i had to call him like hey dude this is My School Tf. He got upset at me cus apparently he called for mcfatter students but im deaf, i cannot hear sometimes man. Anyways, in first period, i sit by myself in the very back, and i mean bymyself, no one occupies the desk in front or to either side of me. Im thinking of moving up a seat today to sit behind a kid i know. Then i wont be isolated yk. in second period, i got a new math teacher and hes some old guy who IMMEDIATELY jumped into the lesson, i was like okay wow damn bros excited. it was easy to understand. i hope i keep understanding the math, i hate math when i cant understand it. like it sucks dog when i cant understand and then i give up and nearly fail. I like when i understand. Anyways, then was lunch, and i met up with a friend i havent seen since middle school. Im a junior now so its been about two years. But they told me that on the last day of school , i interrupted a confession from someone else to them and they were glad i interrupted. I felt kinda bad for interrupting but at least i helped? anyways, i had to show two new kids how my schools lunch works, and they both like culinary food. Both got the wings and chocolate cake and stuff. I just bought a soda. after that was my tech program. I was rlly excited to see one of my friends but apparently HE SKIPPED SCHOOL YESTERDAY>:( so i didnt get to see him. but . whatever. Hes coming today ! :3 but my texh program is multi media and im really excited to start except we cant rlly start until we have both teams and our adobe accounts up, which might take a week. So free week? But im antsy to start working already honestly. but it was nice and fun to be there, im excited for the rest of the year. Afterschool was bus, and i was in a different bus loop this year so it was confusing. And so many more people go to that bus loop, so it was also overwhelming. And hot. Summer heat sucks :( i was sweating so much, and im wearing jeans anx a leather vest and a button up, and none of those are good for heat. so that sucked. I got home around 6, which is normal. my sister told me she needs to use my computer for her school and i got upset because thats my computer why cant you use your computer i dont want you in my room asking for my computer when i need to do My work. so im working on fixing the old computer again. The old computer is the computer i used to use before it killed itself and its now being an absolute ass to me. refuses to work >:(. but i hope i can work on it more tonight.

The Waiting Game
Warnings: tickling, fluff
Word count: 3200
I'm not as happy with how this one came out as the last two, but if I keep thinking about it I'll never post it so... hope it's alright!
* * *
You knew you shouldn’t tell anyone. You knew there would be consequences. But it was just too good of an opportunity to pass up.
You had been taking care of your friend’s pet hamster while they were away for the weekend. For the most part, you’d kept it in your room in its cage to avoid bothering the others with all the noise it made overnight, running on its squeaky wheel at all hours. When everyone else had left the compound for the day, you decided the poor animal could use some real exercise. You had placed the critter in his little hamster ball and brought him to the common area so he could roll around freely.
Except, the little door that closed the ball wasn’t latched all the way. Oops.
Before you knew it, you were crawling around on your hands and knees trying to locate your friend’s pet. You left little snacks out around the room in hopes it would get curious and come out of hiding to munch on something. You were so focused on the task at hand you hadn’t noticed Loki had entered the room, until you heard his voice behind you.
“What in the norns are you doing?” he inquired. You turned to look at him, just as you saw a little fuzzy creature tear across the room and right in front of the dark-haired god. He let out a somewhat undignified yelp as he jumped back. Luckily, the hamster stopped at one of the treats you’d left for him, giving you ample opportunity to scoop him up in your hands. “W-what is that?”
“This is my friend’s hamster!” you explained, giggling at his reaction. “The better question is – what was that noise you made? Don’t tell me you’re afraid of this little thing?”
“Of course not! It merely startled me, is all,” he quickly insisted. You held the hamster out toward him, and Loki took a nearly imperceptible step backward.
“Mmhmm, ok. Not scared. Got it.” Grinning, you moved your hand back and petted the hamster gently on the head. “What would the others think if they knew you a tiny little rodent made you freak out?”
Loki narrowed his eyes at you. “Never speak of this,” he demanded, pointing a finger firmly at you to emphasize. He quickly left the room after that, likely to regain his composure.
But you couldn’t just not tell anyone about this gold nugget of information you’d just learned. So, naturally, you told his brother. And Thor, not one for keeping secrets, told everyone else. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of teasing over the next couple of days. You steered clear of the god, knowing he would not take kindly to your having informed the rest of the team about the little incident.
You couldn’t avoid him forever, though. A couple days later, after having returned the pet to your friend, you were making breakfast for yourself in the kitchen when Loki’s voice echoed from the doorway.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” he stated, his tone ominous. You turned from the stove to meet his eye, smiling sweetly to mask your nervousness at being confronted by the trickster.
“No, of course not! We just haven’t crossed paths,” you fibbed. He rolled his eyes.
“Oh yes – I suppose yesterday in the hallway you just realized you forgot something SO important you had to literally sprint in the opposite direction as you saw me approach?”
“Oh… alright, fine. Yes, I’ve been avoiding you. Wouldn’t you do the same?” Loki stepped into the kitchen, taking a few gradual steps toward you.
“You must know there are consequences when you cross me,” he warned. “You humiliated me, and so I think it only fair I do the same to you.”
“Well good luck with that, I’m an open book. There’s no secrets you can use against me,” you quipped.
“You see, I thought that may be the case, so I started querying the other Avengers,” he explained, now standing only a few feet away from you. Instinctively, you put down your half-cooked breakfast and took a step away from the advancing Asgardian. “Most of them had fairly useless information – scared of spiders, fairly standard human weakness… sleeps with a stuffed bear, which everyone already seemed to know about…”
“Please. That’s not embarrassing,” you huffed.
“…and then I spoke to the spider child. He provided me with some very interesting information about you.” Loki smirked, causing you to laugh nervously.
“Oh, do tell,” you urged, folding your arms across your chest, and trying to play it off as a laugh of disbelief. Loki had now backed you into the corner of the kitchen, which you hadn’t realized until your back met the cold plaster of the wall.
“He informed me that the only time he’s ever seen you truly flustered and embarrassed was during one of your sparring matches, when he accidentally learned about your little secret.” Realization dawned on you, and you tensed up immediately. “He described how you’d begged him not to tell anyone, and he hadn’t up until this point. Apparently he finds me threatening, so it wasn’t difficult to convince him to start talking.”
“I-I don’t know what he could possibly be talking about,” you muttered.
“I think you do,” Loki argued. He pounced at you, lunging with his hands aimed at your sides, causing you to squeak and curl into yourself. His hands stopped inches away from you, close enough that your skin tingled from sheer proximity to his fingertips. “You’re ticklish. Severely, based on that reaction.”
“Pshh, no I’m not! That’s… that’s ridiculous,” you denied, your lie exposed by your nervous giggles and blushing face.
“Mmhmm, I’m sure.” His hands darted toward your belly, again stopping right before he made contact. You yelped and whipped your arms down across your torso to protect yourself. Loki’s smirk only grew wider.
“Ok, fine. You’re right. Just… get it over with!” you begged.
“Oh no. Where would be the fun in that?” he chuckled, stepping back and allowing you space to move away from the wall. “I’ve got to build some anticipation. Catch you when you least expect it.”
“That’s just mean!” you groaned. Loki laughed again, turning around to leave the kitchen. Just before he left, he called over his shoulder.
“You’d better watch your back.”
* * *
Loki’s little game went on for days.
You were on edge at any given moment. Peeking around corners before entering rooms, listening through doors before opening them, trying to ensure your safety before making a move. You half expected him to jump out of nowhere and attack you with tickles on your way down the hallway, but it never happened. Still, you made your travel between rooms as brief as possible.
You wouldn’t say you were dreading the moment he finally did decide to pounce. In fact, in a way the idea made your heart flutter with excitement. What made you most nervous was the thought of the team figuring out you actually enjoyed being tickled, especially Loki. You were certain that that would be the embarrassing part. That, and the fact that you were already flustered by being around Loki long before he figured out this bit of information about you.
You couldn’t always avoid him. There were times that you had to be in the same room for prolonged periods, like during meetings. Loki always seemed to have things set up before you arrived so that the only seat remaining in the room was next to him. You considered sitting on the floor, once, but Steve gave you a scorning look which made you shrink down into the chair beside Loki, albeit begrudgingly. During these meetings, Loki always made sure to keep you on your toes; leaning towards you abruptly and placing his hand on the back of your chair, making you jump, only to whisper something about the meeting presentation, or some ridiculous observation about his brother.
It wasn’t just during work-related gatherings, either. One night, you joined a few of your teammates in the common room to watch a TV show together. Wanda stood up from the couch beside you to go grab a snack from the kitchen, and out of nowhere Loki swooped in and sat down in the spot she previously occupied.
“Good evening,” he greeted you, smirking as you shuffled further toward the edge of the couch to increase the distance between the two of you.
“Loki,” you grunted stiffly in reply.
“Now, y/n, that’s no way to greet your fellow team member,” he scolded tauntingly, clapping a hand on your shoulder, and causing you to flinch away reflexively. He leaned back against the couch, casually propping his feet up on the coffee table in front of you – a stark contrast from your position, huddled in the corner of the couch hugging your knees to your chest in an effort to make yourself as small as possible. “Pray tell, what are we watching?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” you huffed. Maybe this whole situation was making you feel a little bratty toward the Asgardian, but in all honesty he really did deserve it.
Suddenly he lunged toward you, causing you to squeak and jolt away from his fingertips. He never touched you, though, closing his fingers around the TV remote sitting on the couch beside you with a smug grin on his face.
“My, my, aren’t we jittery this evening?” he teased, settling back into his seat as he pointed the remote toward the TV to check the guide and find out the show title you had refused to provide.
“Everything alright over there, antsy-pants?” Tony asked, having witnessed the whole interaction.
“Yup! Just peachy,” you replied quickly, shooting Loki a quick glare.
“Peachy? Uh… alright then…” Tony scrutinized you for a moment before turning his attention back to the TV screen.
Needless to say, you didn’t really remember any of the rest of the show from that evening.
Then, as if these group gatherings weren’t enough, there was also your regularly scheduled training sessions. One morning, when Nat had you practicing throwing punches at the punching bag, you sensed Loki lurking around behind you. You turned your head just enough to catch him in your peripheral vision standing a few feet away, observing you silently.
“Better watch yourself – I might just throw one of these punches in your direction,” you threatened, keeping your eye on him as you continued to practice.
“Such hostility,” he teased. “Surely this much stress can’t be good for a mortal such as yourself.” He quickly advanced toward you, causing you to spin around and throw your hands up in front of you in defense. A deep, throaty laugh escaped his lips at your reaction. “You’ve only proven my point. You must learn not to be so tense.” He grabbed hold of your shoulder and turned you around, kneading both shoulders with his strong hands. Under normal circumstances, you’d have melted under his touch, but you were unwilling to let your guard down even for a moment. You grabbed his wrists and turned back to face him, pointing an accusing finger in his face.
“I’m not just going to let you slip past my defenses that easily,” you warned, stepping backward toward the door to leave while he smirked at you in amusement.
“Oh, don’t worry - I’m certain of that.”
* * *
After a week of this charade, you were really getting anxious. You were starting to flinch at every little sound, every rapid movement anyone made in your direction. Even when it wasn’t Loki you were interacting with, you couldn’t help but feel uneasy. The anticipation was literally driving you insane.
You entered the training room that morning ready to release some of your stress in your sparring session. Unfortunately, Steve had started noticing over the last few days that you and Loki were in the middle of some sort of conflict, and so he assigned the two of you as sparring partners, telling you to either fight it out or get over whatever it was. Reluctantly, you stepped out onto the sparring mat and faced your opponent, already starting to feel nervous butterflies in your stomach. Loki shot you his characteristic mischievous smirk, ducking into his fighting stance.
“I’ll do my best to make this a fair fight,” he goaded. You mimicked his stance, narrowing your eyes at him across the mat.
“Just get on with it, Loki,” you ordered. You didn’t wait around for him to make the first move, throwing a quick one-two punch which he dodged easily. He countered with a jab toward your ribs, stopping just before he made contact, but it was enough to make you flinch. You aimed a low-sweeping kick at his ankles but missed again as he hopped over your leg. Frustrated, you threw another sloppy punch toward his shoulder, but he grabbed hold of your wrist and yanked you toward him, spinning you around easily and pinning your arm behind your back, his other hand gripping your waist.
“Do you yield?” he asked, his voice low in your ear. You spun back around and yanked your wrist free in one fluid motion, driving him backward by slamming your forearm into his chest.
“Not just yet,” you grunted, grinning as he stumbled from the unexpected force. Loki quickly regained his balance, wasting no time in lunging at you again. This time, he aimed his hand toward your side, causing you to yelp and twist awkwardly to avoid his touch.
“Did Natasha teach you that move? Your form is getting sloppy.”
“You know exactly what made me move like that,” you muttered, jumping back on the offensive and landing a couple of blows to his shoulder. He retaliated with a jab straight at your stomach, stopping his own momentum early enough that he merely tapped his fist against your belly. You doubled over, wrapping both arms around your torso protectively.
“It seems your fighting skills require quite a bit of work.”
“Damnit, Loki!” you shouted, unable to take it anymore. “If you’re going to do it, just do it!”
“I’m not sure what you mean,” he replied, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“Oh, you know exactly what I mean. You’ve been finding every excuse to lean toward me or make a sudden move in my direction to make me think you’re going to do it. I can’t stand it anymore!” You didn’t quite realize how loudly you were shouting at this point, causing heads to turn in your direction without your noticing. “I know this was all part of your grand plan, to drive me insane with anticipation. You win! I give! Just… get it over with already, please!”
In one swift motion, Loki tackled you flat on your back onto the mat, arms pinned over your head. You felt your stomach somersault, partially from the sudden drop to the floor and partially from the wide smirk on Loki’s face as he hovered over you.
“Well, since you asked so nicely…” Loki released both of your wrists and latched both hands to your sides, squeezing rapidly. You burst into uncontrollable laughter at the agonizingly ticklish sensation. Even Loki seemed somewhat taken aback by your reaction. “No wonder you were so concerned; the spider boy certainly wasn’t lying.”
“Damn you Peteheher!!!” you groaned through your laughter. At this point, everyone in the room had stopped what they were doing to see what the sudden commotion was about. You could feel your face burning, knowing everyone’s eyes were on you as Loki tickled you senseless.
You couldn’t bring yourself to fight back very hard, though; after all, you’d been waiting for this to happen for an entire week. You hoped it didn’t seem too obvious. You didn’t dwell on it for long, though, as Loki’s fingers crawled up to your ribs, depriving you of all coherent thought.
“Do you regret spreading humiliating rumors about me yet?” he teased, his smirk widening.
“N-no!”
“Tsk, tsk, wrong answer, darling,” Loki shook his head in mock disappointment, his hands darting back down to your sides so he could dig his thumbs into your hips.
“Lo… Loki… wahahait!” you pleaded, shrieking at the new sensation, and swatting feebly at his hands.
“I’m sorry, I’m not comprehending what you’re trying to tell me.” He was laughing now, clearly enjoying himself as he made you squirm under his torturous fingers. “Come, now, darling; I know you can fight better than that.” You shook your head rapidly, grasping weakly at his wrists. He moved to scribble lightly into your belly, trying to allow you the chance to talk while still keeping you giggling. “Use your words, love.”
“I-I cahahan’t!” you protested.
“You can’t? Or you’ve chosen not to?” Your eyes widened a bit, realizing he’d caught on to you. “Are you enjoying this?”
Blushing furiously, you rolled abruptly to the side to break his hold and scrambled to your feet, gasping for breath. Loki stood as well, staring you down for just a moment before lunging toward you. You turned and began to run, but the god easily caught up to you, grabbing hold of your arm and yanking you backward so he could trap you in what you could only describe as a bear hug.
“You didn’t answer my question.”
“Um…” Your heart was pounding in your chest from both exertion and embarrassment. “No? That would be… that would be weird.”
“On the contrary; I find it amusing. Dare I say… endearing, even.”
“Really..? Are you sure-” You were cut off by your own hysterical laughter as Loki dug his fingertips into your ribs, tickling you with renewed vigor. With your arms pinned to your sides and your back pressed flush against his chest, there was very little hope of you escaping this time.
“Surely you understand the implications of this newfound knowledge, dear? You’ve provided me with the perfect excuse to torment you whenever I’d like.”
“Stohohop teasing… LOKIHIHI!” you pleaded, your knees going weak as his fingers darted up and down your sides. You’d completely forgotten about everyone else in the room at this point, your mind going fuzzy. The only thing keeping you standing upright at this point was Loki holding your weight up as he tortured you.
By the time he released you from his hold, your stomach hurt from laughing so hard, and tears of mirth blurred your vision. It had been quite some time since anyone had tickled you like that. Heat still prickled in your cheeks, but you felt happy, nonetheless.
“Damn. Now I know how to cheer you up when you’re moping around the tower,” Tony quipped, walking past you and patting your shoulder as everyone finally returned to their own training exercises.
“Shut up, Tony,” you groaned, hiding your face in your hands. A swift poke in the sides made you jerk both arms down away from your face.
“I do believe we’re even,” Loki stated, smirking.
“Fine. We’re even. Now – can we finish our sparring match? Without cheating this time?” You shoved his shoulder playfully to emphasize your point. He only grinned wider.
“Darling, I refuse to make promises that I don’t intend to keep.”

Sweet Night (M)
➵ Stray Kids: Bang Chan x fem. reader / one shot, college AU, camping trip AU / fluff, smut / REQUESTED
➵ warnings: slight cursing, explicit mentions of sex (slight public teasing, orgasm denial, oral: receiving, slight choking)
➵ word count: 6k (lol oops)
a/n: after a few anon requests/inquiries, I decided to write this one shot as the second part to Way to You - you can absolutely read this on its own though.

I’M WALKING ON SUNSHINE, OOOOOOH! I’M WALKING ON-
Your eyes fly open as soon as the song starts blaring from somewhere beside you, and you blindly fumble for the alarm clock, thankfully managing to find the off-switch quite quickly. This very annoying clock was a horrible yet also kinda thoughtful birthday gift from Chan’s roommates, as it’s quite possibly the loudest one on the market, meaning it is able to wake literally anyone. It could probably even wake Dracula from his deep slumber in the depths of his castle somewhere in Romania. And while Chan might not be a vampire, he isn’t one to wake easily either, so this extremely loud alarm clock was the only solution your friends had been able to come up with. Which sadly means you experience something close to a heart attack every morning - or well, at least a few times a week, as you do still spend some nights at the apartment you share with Jisung.
You fall back into the pillows, heart still racing from the sudden noise. Pale sunlight filters through the curtains and into the otherwise dark room. You groan, blinking against the rays of light hitting you straight in the face, and turn around to cuddle into your boyfriend’s broad back. He hums, only half-awake himself, and turns around to wrap both arms around you, leaving a lazy kiss on your forehead.
Suddenly, there’s a crash from somewhere in the house, and you jump. Chan sighs deeply, and murmurs “Hyunjin, probably.” under his breath - it’s no secret that his roommate is a walking disaster. You don’t answer, only pressing a soft kiss on his naked chest. “How’d you sleep?”, he asks, one hand beginning to trace gentle patterns on your bare back. “Like a rock - which was exactly what I needed after my midterms.”, you answer, and he nods. “You more than deserved that, babe. I’m really proud of you, by the way. I’m sure you aced all your exams.”, he says, and you can’t help but smile at his sweet words. You look up at him, gently cupping his cheek, and kiss him. He basically melts against you, pulling you even closer towards him, and bites down on your lower lip to slide his tongue into your mouth. Before this can end in a steamy morning make-out session, there’s a knock on Chan’s door. He groans and draws back from you, expression grumpy. “What?”, he then yells, shooting daggers towards his door. “Just wanted to make sure you’re up, we’re supposed to be leaving in an hour!”, Felix answers, sounding way too cheerful so early in the morning. “Ugh, I hate morning people. Just once I want to get up in the morning without having to go through the seven stages of grief first.”, you mumble, your warm breath tickling Chan’s neck and making him giggle and wiggle away from you. “Yeah, we’re up!”, he quickly answers Felix, who shuffles away from the door, before turning towards you again, “Wait, aren’t there only five stages of grief? What are your extra two?” “Denial part two and astral projection.”, you answer, and Chan laughs before giving you a soft smile, brushing some of your hair out of your face.
“Breakfast?”, he then asks, and you nod. “Absolutely. I need coffee, and lots of it.”, you agree, and he rolls his eyes. “I swear, by now there’s definitely coffee running through your veins instead of blood.”, Chan mumbles, before jumping out of bed to grab his underwear from the floor. You just chuckle and follow him, but can’t seem to find your bra anywhere. “What the Hell…”, you mumble under your breath, twirling around once in a desperate attempt to locate it. “Uh. Looking for this?”, Chan asks and you follow his gaze. You both burst into loud laughter when you spot your bra happily dangling from the ceiling light. “Well, we had to be very fast yesterday evening. Clothes went flying, and quite literally it seems.”, you say, lips twitching while you stand on your tiptoes to get your bra, and Chan nods in agreement. “Very fast indeed - but we couldn’t let the others begin the movie night without us! We had valid reasons.” He grins and wraps both arms around your waist to pull you close to him again, giving you a quick peck on the lips. When you want to deepen the kiss, he draws back again, expression stern. “No time for that, we have to get ready, eat breakfast and you still need to pack some of your stuff before we can leave. And we don’t want to let the others wait, right?” You sigh and pout. “No, we don’t, apparently.”, you just answer, and wiggle into your jeans and turtleneck, finally ready to leave the privacy of Chan’s room and get something to eat.
The scent of fresh coffee and pancakes greets you when you arrive downstairs, and you inhale deeply. Felix is standing in front of the stove, humming a soft tune under his breath while working on making the tower of pancakes beside him even taller. He turns around when you enter the kitchen, giving you his signature sunshine smile. “Morning, Y/N.”, he greets you, “Slept well?” You nod and peek over his shoulder. “Yup. And have I ever told you how much I love you?”, you ask, stealing a piece of pancake directly out of the pan, and Felix tries to swat your hand away before he chuckles. “Shouldn’t you say that to Chan, not to me?”, he replies, and your boyfriend, just entering the kitchen behind you, sighs deeply. “She’s an opportunist, meaning she’ll tell anyone she loves them if it means she gets what she wants, so beware. I actually rarely hear her say it to me.”, Chan says warningly, and you shoot him a dark look. “Oh shut up, that’s so not true. I tell you I love you at least once or twice a day, you needy baby.”, you grumble, and just then, Minho joins the small kitchen party. “Needy baby? You’re not talking about Hyunjin, are you?”, he asks, ruffling his crazy bed hair while filling a mug with coffee, sighing contently when he takes the first sip. You grin and shake your head, before taking a mug out of the cabinet yourself.
Said roommate also enters the kitchen just then, face looking quite puffy. You raise both eyebrows. “Did you cry yourself to sleep last night?”, you ask, and take a sip of coffee to hide your shit-eating grin. Hyunjin throws you a dark glare, and crosses both arms in front of his chest. “No. But I did have a slight mental breakdown after realizing I probably failed my last exam yesterday, so I decided to treat myself to some late-night-ramen, and now I look like this.”, he points at his face, beginning to pout, “God just hates pretty people, he’s clearly punishing me for my dashing looks.” “Or maybe he just doesn’t like narcissists.”, Jeongin offers when he enters the kitchen, shoving Minho out of the way to get to the kitchen cabinet almost overflowing with mugs. You decide it’s finally getting too crowded in the kitchen, and leave it again. You’re absolutely not a morning person, and can’t deal with the boys’ constant bickering without having experienced the positive effect of the caffeine you’re currently consuming.
Seungmin is sitting on one of the sofas, currently scrolling through Instagram and apparently trying to like every cute puppy pic in existence. “Morning.”, you greet him and take a seat beside him, peeking over his shoulder and cooing at an extremely cute baby golden retriever. Seungmin just greets you with a curt nod of his head, not being a morning person either, and keeps scrolling. Minutes later, Felix enters the living room, balancing a giant plate of fresh pancakes in front of him while all the other boys follow him like stray dogs. “What would you guys even do without Felix cooking for you all the time?”, you ask, mouth watering when you inhale the delicious smell. “Starve and die.”, Seungmin deadpans, while Jeongin answers: “We’d have to look at Hyunjin’s ugly bloated face every day because we’d solely live off ramen.” Hyunjin hits the back of his head for that, but the younger boy just shoots him his cheshire cat grin. “I mean, I could cook too, I guess.”, Chan says, frowning, and everyone bursts into loud laughter. “Wow okay, I’ll try not to take this personally…”, your boyfriend grumbles, and sits down at the dining table. You slide onto the chair next to him, and pat his thigh affectionately. “I love you, babe, but you literally didn’t know how to whisk eggs when we wanted to bake cookies last week.”, you say, and Chan sighs. “That’s... sadly fair. But I could learn!”
“No offense, but we actually like our kitchen intact - thanks for your humble offering though. If Felix should die unexpectedly, we might get back to you.”, Minho answers, and before the situation can escalate into a playful bickering battle, Felix yells “SO, WHO WANTS PANCAKES?!”, successfully managing to distract everyone.
One and a half hours later, everyone is packed and ready to go - you’ve planned this little getaway for almost two months now, everyone having finished their first round of exams at this time of year and being able to just relax for a bit. For some reason, the boys had wanted to go camping, and as you, Jisung’s girlfriend Lina and Hyunjin’s girlfriend Marie were clearly outnumbered by the boys, you hadn’t really had the chance to disagree with them. But you honestly don’t even mind, having gone camping lots of times already and just being happy to enjoy some time with your closest friends. Only Changbin won’t be able to join you guys, as he’s currently doing an internship and wasn’t able to request some time off.
Chan is just about to lock the front door to the frat house, when Jeongin zooms past you, yelling for his older roommate to wait. “I forgot something extremely important!”, he explains, almost breathless, and disappears into the house again. “What’s he getting now?”, your boyfriend wonders, and shoots you a questioning gaze. You just shrug, and let your bag fall to the ground, too lazy to hold onto it while waiting for the youngest of your group. A few minutes later, Jeongin comes back, a huge grin on his face and a giant stuffed animal in his arms. Chan blinks a few times, and opens his mouth to say something, but he gets cut off by the younger boy: “You guys can cuddle with each other, but I’d rather throw myself off a cliff than cuddle with Minho, Felix or Seungmin, whoever I’ll end up sharing a tent with. But I do wanna cuddle with someone, so Mr. Sunshine it is.”, he explains stoically, and you just nod in support. “I totally get that, plus I wouldn’t be too sure that Minho doesn’t just turn into a bat or something like that during the night. He’s at least part demon, we all know that.”, you say, and Jeongin giggles.
You’re truly prepared to give him anything whenever he smiles at you like this, his eyes almost disappearing, teeth almost blindingly bright. While you detain from squishing his cheeks, you do poke the dimple on his left one, being too endeared by him. He swats your hand away, of course he does, but you still bask in the victory of having poked his cheek. One thing to cross off your to-do-list for today.
“Okay, let’s go to the others.”, Chan finally says after locking the house, and without you having to say anything, he takes his and your bag and walks over to where the others are waiting beside the cars. Chivalry is not dead and you’re ready to swoon over your amazing boyfriend. “Okay, we still have to pick up Jisung, Lina and Marie.”, Chan says after he’s put your bags into the trunk of his car, “So, who’s gonna ride in which car?” “Well I obviously want to ride with Marie.”, Hyunjin says, a goofy smile on his face - they have been together for almost a year now, but he’s still very much extremely whipped for her, but luckily, she seems to feel the exact same way -, and Minho murmurs a sarcastic “Shocking, really.” under his breath. “I want Jisung and Lina in our car.”, you quickly say, and Chan gives you a short nod. Of course you’d say that - Jisung is your best friend after all, and you’ve grown quite close to Lina as well. You’re also good friends with Marie, but Jisung just wins this round - not that you’d ever tell that to his face, he’s too cocky as it is, no need to push his ego even more. “Then Minho, you take Hyunjin, Marie, Felix and Seungmin, and I take Y/N, Jisung, Lina and Jeongin, okay?”, Chan suggests, and everyone agrees. Five minutes later, all the bags are safely stored away and everyone has taken their seats. Being Chan’s girlfriend means you get to ride shotgun, something you’re more than thankful for, knowing how crowded the backseat is going to be once you’ve picked up Jisung and Lina. “See you in a bit!”, Felix yells through his open window, and flashes you his extremely cute gummy smile. You wave at him, immediately returning his smile, and successfully ignore Minho’s mock salute and cocky grin while he backs out of his parking spot, almost cutting Chan off.
Twenty minutes later, Jisung and Lina are squished into the backseat with Jeongin, all three having bright smiles on their faces. “Road trip, whoop!”, Jisung yells and gives you a high five, “Happy to have a few days with y’all before we have to face the sad reality of probably having failed most of our exams!” Lina beside him rolls her eyes. “Stop being so dramatic, I’m sure most of us will have aced everything.”, she says, and Jisung wraps his arm around her and kisses her temple. “Sorry, but I have literally only one functioning brain cell and I use it to overthink.”, he explains, yelping when she playfully tickles his side. You chuckle at their bickering, and hit play on your road trip playlist - a second later, Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody fills the car, all of you immediately beginning to sing along. “LET’S GO!”, Chan yells over the sad attempts of everyone trying to imitate Freddy Mercury, and backs out of the parking lot. You smile and interlace your fingers with his. He cheekily returns your smile, and raises your intertwined hands to his lips to press a soft kiss against your knuckles. Over a year of being with him, but you still swoon over this simple yet sweet gesture. Yes, you’re just that whipped for your boyfriend, and what about it.
It doesn’t take long for you guys to arrive on the interstate, you and Jisung trying to trump each other's impressions of Beyoncé singing Single Ladies (and failing miserably, sorry Queen B). Your belly almost hurts from laughing with your friends, and you can’t wait for the rest of the weekend to begin.
Minho’s car arrives before Chan’s, and of course he’s gloating about it the second you guys join forces again. But you can let him have this small victory, and decide to just ignore him for now, helping Chan get the bags out of his car and to the campsite. It’s quite cold, the air crisp now that the sun is slowly beginning to set again, but you brought lots of blankets and sleeping bags, so you should be fine. And at least the weather means there aren’t any other campers here right now, so you have the whole area, including the washing rooms, to yourselves, which is nice.
Setting up camp takes longer than anticipated, mostly because Jisung somehow manages to crash into his and Lina’s almost finished tent twice, which means they have to start from the very beginning again. She truly has the patience of a saint, simply smacking him over the head rather playfully before picking up the sad remains of their tent to begin the whole building process again. Chan and you, having gone camping lots of times already, are quickest with finishing your tent, so afterwards you offer to help Jisung and Lina with theirs, while Chan does the same for Minho and Jeongin. Marie, an experienced scout, has set up hers and Hyunjin’s tent in record time as well, and takes pity on Felix and Seungmin, quickly building the tent for them. After an hour, your camp has successfully been built, and everyone begins to search for firewood.
Felix decides to make a giant pot of spicy chili sin carne for tonight’s dinner, and as soon as all the plates are filled, your conversations slowly dwindle down, everyone too busy with eating. “Lix, you’re a cooking genius, Gordon Ramsey found jobless.”, Marie says around a mouthful of chili, giving the blonde boy a bright smile and the thumbs up. He waves her compliment aside, blushing profoundly. “Thanks, but it’s honestly not that difficult - you just have to follow the recipe, if you’re too scared to improvise.”, he murmurs, and she throws a small piece of kindling at him. “You should really learn how to take compliments.”, she teases playfully, and he shrugs. “Okay, okay, I’m the best cook ever.”, he says sarcastically, and Minho raises one eyebrow. “Whoa, now don’t get ahead of yourself.”, he replies, and Felix smacks him over the head. “You can’t cook at all, so for once, you should just stay quiet.”, you say, and Minho sighs dramatically. “What can I say… We all have our weaknesses. I, for example, am extremely good-looking and tragically funny.”
You almost choke on your chili because of his audacity, and lift your fork in front of your face, staring through it and at Minho, who just frowns at you. “What are you doing? Why are you looking at me through your fork?”, he asks, obviously confused by your behavior, and you give him a lopsided smile. “I’m pretending you’re in jail, it’s spiritually healing.”, you explain, and Chan beside you bursts into laughter, the others following him quickly. Minho begins to pout and sticks out his tongue at you, always the mature one. “It’s okay if you don’t enjoy my dashing looks and hilarious humor, not everyone has good taste. That’s why you picked Chan over me after all.”, he claims, and you answer by throwing a piece of wood his way, making him squeal and dive for cover. Just then, the flames of your fire flicker and slowly begin to die down. Seungmin, Jeongin and Hyunjin stand up to go get some more firewood, but somehow, the latter one’s shoe gets caught between two logs and with a loud yelp, he tumbles to the ground. “What the Hell is he doing?!”, Chan groans, and Jeongin deadpans “Sadly his best.”, before he begins walking over towards his friend to help him, but Marie is faster, already dragging her boyfriend up from the ground with tears of laughter in her eyes. Hyunjin’s cheeks are red from embarrassment and he murmurs something about nature being out to get him, before he, Marie and the other two boys disappear into the forest to get more firewood.
The rest of the evening is filled with playful banter, soft guitar music from Jisung, and funny childhood stories. Lina soon begins to nod off, her head resting on her boyfriend’s shoulder while he continues to strum a soft tune on his guitar, humming along. When he notices his girlfriend is about to wander into Morpheus’ realm though, he’s quick to place the guitar back into its bag, and wraps both arms around her. “I think it’s time for us to retire, huh?”, he says, leaving a gentle kiss on Lina’s forehead. She blinks sleepily, and smiles up at him. “It’s pretty safe to assume that at any given moment, I want to go back to sleep - so yes, I agree, time to retire.”, she answers, and Jisung chuckles, before standing up to declare: “Well, we’re off to bed now!” Minho and Seungmin boo immediately, while Jeongin murmurs something like “Old people” under his breath - even though he’s literally only one year younger than most of you guys.
“So, as I’m legally required to kiss my homies goodnight, y’all getting some smooches!”, Jisung says, already walking towards where Hyunjin and Marie are sitting, bodies entangled and breaths mingling. Hyunjin looks up and shoots his friend a murderous look. “I swear, if you kiss me, I’m going to dump you into the river.”, he threatens, but Jisung just grins. “How about you dump your girlfriend instead and run away with me? We’d make such a pretty couple.”, he says, making Hyunjin roll his eyes. “Bro, no offense, but I’d be the pretty one in this relationship, and while everyone can clearly see you already have quite the experience being the ugly one in a relationship” with that, Hyunjin first points at Jisung and then at Lina, who bursts out laughing, “I don’t think I’m ready to hear your constant whining about my face being prettier than yours. So thanks, but no thanks, I’ll stay with Marie.” “Wow, I feel so honored and loved right now, babe.”, Marie says sarcastically, “But does this mean you think you’re the pretty one in this relationship as well?” Hyunjin goes into instant panic mode, quickly reassuring his girlfriend that she’s far prettier than him, while she tries to keep a stern expression on her face, but everyone can clearly see the way her lips twitch. She just loves teasing Hyunjin, and you honestly can’t blame her for that, especially not when it’s just so easy.
“Okay, goodnight, then!”, Lina interrupts their playful bickering, and gives everyone a soft smile, before dragging Jisung towards their tent. Everyone wishes them a good night and sweet dreams as well, and then Seungmin clears his throat. “Time for some ghost stories, don’t you think?”, he says, voice low and grin almost evil when his eyes find Hyunjin, who immediately falls silent. Everyone knows he’s a huge scaredy cat, which is quite funny seeing as his own girlfriend is a big fan of horror movies and stories. Truly a match made in Heaven. Seungmin just raises one eyebrow, expression challenging - but when no one contradicts him, he begins to tell his first ghost story.
It doesn’t take long until Hyunjin is pretty much sitting on Marie’s lap, shooting daggers at his friend while his girlfriend is trying very hard not to laugh at him. You yourself cuddle closer to your own boyfriend, smiling when he presses a soft kiss against your temple. Your eyes rest on the big bonfire, following some sparks drifting into the dark night sky from time to time, and you sigh contently. This, right here, is your happy place - in the midst of your friends, just laughing and joking with them, not a care in the world. Midterms lie behind you, and you’re currently not even thinking about your grades for once, your anxiety at rest. This trip was truly a great idea, maybe even Jisung’s best one so far.
“Okay, wanna hear a really creepy one-”, Seungmin begins, and Hyunjin has finally had enough, standing up and taking Marie’s hand into his. “Well, goodnight!”, he says, a determined expression on his face, and pulls his girlfriend towards their tent. Marie suppresses an amused smile at her boyfriend’s dramatics, and waves at everyone, before following him inside the tent. Seungmin just grins evilly and shrugs. “He’s so soft hearted.”, he then says, and leans back, obviously content with his work. “Okay, maybe it’s three demons, not only two.”, you murmur into Chan’s ear, and he chuckles. You’re always joking about Minho and Hyunjin being demons, as they’re constantly testing your nerves by just being themselves, plus they were definitely the main plotters behind the plan to get you and Chan together - not that you’re complaining about it as their plan had worked pretty perfectly and in your favor. “In the end you’ll probably find that I live with six demons.”, your boyfriend murmurs, and begins to play with your fingers. You shake your head. “Oh no, Felix is definitely an angel, not a demon.”, you disagree, and Chan nods. “Okay, that’s true. The others though… Well, time will tell, I guess.” “Or holy water.” He just laughs and gives you a quick peck on the lips. When you want to deepen the kiss, he draws back. “Later.”, he murmurs against your lips, his deep voice rumbling in his chest, and you shiver involuntarily. He grins at your reaction, before turning his attention to Seungmin’s new ghost story again.
You on the other hand feel hot and bothered all of the sudden, and decide to tease your boyfriend a bit. So you place your hand on his thigh, not moving it for some time, until you slowly slide it higher, bit by bit. At first, Chan doesn’t seem to notice or care, until you’re getting dangerously close to his crotch. Then, he quickly leans forward so the others can’t see what you’re doing, and glares at you. “What are you doing?”, he asks, voice low, and you smile innocently. “Nothing.”, you answer, and have finally reached your desired destination, slowly beginning to palm his semi over his jeans. “How about you be a good girl and stop?”, he breathes out, but you know he doesn’t actually want you to stop - you know him well enough for that by now. Still, you decide to play along. “Oh, I’ll gladly be your good girl.”, you whisper, and quickly withdraw your hand. He groans at your words and the sudden lack of contact, and locks eyes with you. “Tent. Now.”, he grits out, and stands up, pulling you with him and hugging you from behind so your body hides his erection from the others. “We’re tired too, so goodnight!”, he says in a fake cheerful voice, and you have to hide your shit-eating grin while innocently waving at the others. “Oh you’re in so much trouble now, babe.”, Chan murmurs into your ear while you walk towards your tent, and bites down on your lobe. You feel arousal gather between your legs, stomach jolting at his words. You and Chan have a very playful relationship, full of bantering and loving jokes, and your dynamic in the bedroom isn’t that different - there’s a lot of bickering too, you being a total brat at times, while he’s more on the dominant side, enjoying making you obedient.
As soon as he closes the tent behind you and turns around to watch you with an almost predatory gaze, you know you might have been a bit too forward at the bonfire. But it’s too late to back down now, so you simply raise both eyebrows, a challenging expression on your face. “So you think touching me like that in front of our friends is okay?”, Chan asks, his voice low and dark. You tilt your head to one side. “I mean, you didn’t seem opposed to it, to be honest.”, you answer, and now he’s the one to lift both eyebrows. “I want you out of your clothes, now.”, your boyfriend orders, and for once, you follow his command immediately, knowing this is for your own good this time. So you quickly wiggle out of your jeans and take off your jumper, shivering in the cold night air. Only left in your panties and bra, Chan smirks to himself, before crawling over your body and beginning to kiss you slowly. You gasp into his mouth when one of his warm hands finds your waist, drawing lazy circles against it, before traveling higher to cup your breast over your bra. His thumb rubs over your clothed nipple before pinching it, hard, and you arch your back, breath hitching.
“So, let’s see how quiet you can stay while I eat you out, hm? Remember, the walls of the tent are too thin to mask any noises.”, Chan whispers against your lips, before he suddenly descends down your body. Oh no, you know you’re screwed. He’ll try to make you scream his name, but while you’re quite open about sex and have no problem talking about it with your friends, you definitely don’t need them to hear you during the actual act. Maybe you shouldn’t have teased your boyfriend after all - but it’s too late now, he’s determined. He spreads your legs, and begins to leave soft love bites on the inside of your thighs. You’re trembling already, and it’s not because of the cold alone. Chan always has this effect on you, no matter how often he touches you - you’ll never get used to it. He plays with the hem of your panties, until he finally drags them down your legs, his warm breath hitting your wet core. You begin to squirm, impatient to have him finally touch you where you need him most. He smacks your thigh, the crack resounding through the tent, and you yelp. “Chan.”, you hiss, and he grins cheekily, before suddenly pressing his thumb to your clit, beginning to draw lazy circles against it. Your eyes roll into the back of your head and you clamp one hand over your mouth to mask any noises.
Chan soon replaces his thumb with his mouth, sucking on your clit like his life depends on it while simultaneously sliding two fingers inside your heat. A loud moan tears from your lips and you bite the inside of your cheek, trying to stifle your noises but already failing miserably. You feel Chan smirk against you, and then, he slips a third finger inside you, curling them upwards and picking up the pace. You buck your hips against his gentle ministrations, skin feeling too hot and too tight already, goosebumps rising all over your body. It doesn’t take long until you begin to tremble, your high approaching rather quickly, and you’re this close to finally snapping, when Chan draws back from your core, face glistening with your juices, his smirk almost devilish. “I can’t hear you, babe, are you even enjoying this?”, he murmurs, back to drawing lazy patterns on your clit with his thumb. You feel frustration wash over you, and shoot him a dark glare. His grin gets even wider, before he completely withdraws his hand from your heat to suck on his glistening fingers. You close your eyes for a few seconds, trying to gather your wits, until Chan slaps your thigh again. “Look at me, baby.”, he says, voice dark, and your eyes snap open again. You begin to pout. “Please.”, you mumble, trying your best to appeal to his softer side, “I’m sorry I was a brat earlier. You know I can’t be loud or the others might hear us.” Your boyfriend just hums, hands ghosting over your thighs and leaving goosebumps in their wake. “Too bad, I guess you can’t cum tonight then.” And before you’re able to reply anything, he dives back in-between your folds.
You throw one arm over your mouth, and bite your own soft flesh to suppress any noises. It takes little to no time until you’re close to your orgasm again, but for the second time tonight, Chan draws back in the last possible second. You’re almost ready to cry with frustration now, eyes glistening with unshed tears. When your boyfriend sees this, he softens a bit and leans towards you to press a gentle kiss to your lips. “This is what you get for being a brat.”, he murmurs, and you bite down on his lower lip, making him groan into your mouth. “Please.”, you whisper and try your best puppy eyes on him. He just smirks again, finally ridding himself off his shirt, jeans and underwear. When he’s fully naked in front of you, you sigh, eyes raking his beautiful, defined body. Unlike you, Chan actually enjoys going to the gym - and his effort pays off. “Stop drooling.”, he says, sounding way too pleased and cocky in your opinion. So you quickly sit up, and wrap one hand around his hard cock, already leaking with pre-cum. Good to see you’re not the only one being affected by this, you think and grin. You begin to slowly jerk him off, spreading the pre-cum over the rest of his cock as lube. He groans, lower lip pulled back between his teeth and eyes almost black with desire. Finally, he’s had enough, and pushes you on your back again, hovering over you. “There’s condoms in the bag behind you.”, he murmurs, leaving gentle kisses on your neck until he finds your sweet spot, beginning to suck on it. You moan almost inaudible, fingers fumbling for said bag to retrieve a condom.
Just seconds later, Chan rolls it over his cock, and then, he aligns himself in front of your wet core, teasingly rubbing your clit before you shoot him a pleading look. He finally sheathes himself into you with one swift motion, and you both moan out loud at the feeling. You quickly cough to cover the noise, making Chan chuckle and press a kiss against your forehead. “You’re okay?”, he asks, and you nod, biting down on his neck and leaving a hickey. He groans and finally begins to move, pulling almost all the way out before slamming back into you, immediately hitting that spot. Your fingers wrap around his biceps, needing something to hold onto while he drills into you. Suddenly, he pulls out of you to sit back on his knees, wrapping your legs around his hips, and thrusts back into you at an even deeper angle, simultaneously picking up the pace. One of his hands snakes towards your neck and he wraps his fingers around the base of your throat, using just enough pressure to make breathing harder for you. When his thumb begins to circle your clit again, you close your eyes, clamping one hand over your mouth to mask your almost obscene noises.
“C-Chan, I’m so c-close.”, you say in between two moans, and he grins, murmuring a “That’s my girl” under his breath before deepening the angle even more. He suddenly pinches your clit once, and that’s all it takes for you to finally tumble over the edge, his name leaving your lips maybe a bit too loud this time. He quickly leans forward to seal your mouth with his, chasing his own high while guiding you through yours. Not long after, he groans and presses his forehead against yours, shuddering a bit while releasing into the condom. He stills inside you, both your breaths mingling, hearts beating fast while you try to come down from your high. Chan smiles, brushing some of your hair out of your face, and gives you a soft, sweet kiss. “I love you.”, he murmurs, and you return his smile. “Love you more.”, you whisper back, and he chuckles. “Impossible.”
Before you can begin to playfully argue, Minho’s voice cuts through the night “Next time we’ll build the tents far away from each other, y’all are nasty for doing it with us sitting almost right next you.” Both you and Chan freeze, before you burst out laughing. “WE HAVE ZERO REGRETS.”, you yell back, hearing the others groan. “WELL, YOU REALLY SHOULD THOUGH!”, Jisung complains from somewhere to your left, and you hear Lina starting to giggle. You groan and bury your face into Chan’s neck. “They’ll never let us hear the end of this, will they.”, you murmur against his soft skin, and he shakes his head. “Nope.” You sigh and lean back. “Well, it was still worth it.”, you say, and grin up at him. Your boyfriend just smirks and leans down to kiss you again. “Oh, definitely.”

William glanced over his shoulder at the two members of his squad, Yuno and Neva, and their ‘daughter’ Miku. This wasn’t what he had been expecting when Marx asked him to come up to the castle as there was something he needed to see, but Yami seemed to have an inkling because he had the smuggest grin on his face and was almost too happy about William getting a call from Marx. That should have been his first clue as to what was going on.
After Marx had met him at the doors and explained the situation William had been expecting the members to be either Klaus or even Alecdora, but insteadWilliam had been very surprised to see that it was in fact Yuno and Neva. Those were the last two he had thought of when Marx was telling him the details, but after seeing the young girl and seeing his two squad members there was no denying that she was their daughter. She looked like Neva but with black hair, her serious face was a perfect blend of Yuno’s and Neva’s, but she appeared to carry herself more like Yuno then Neva. This was interesting.
“ Is everyone alright?” William asked as he glanced over his shoulder, the three nodded but remained silent. Apparently they were all still trying to process this information, it was no secret that Yuno and Neva had a crush on each other, but it seemed the only ones who didn’t know about this, were the two in question. William let out a soft sigh before walking out the castle doors and walking towards the brooms.
“ Captain, where exactly are we going?” Neva asked as she grabbed one of the brooms, Yuno began to use his wind magic to make himself a transportation vessel. Miku looked between the two before walking towards Neva and her broom, apparently she wasn’t very comfortable flying using wind magic.
“ We have a house not too far from here that we’ve all been staying in the past few days, just until we’ve gotten things sorted out with the children and how to get them back home.” William explained simply before stepping onto his broom, Neva did the same as Miku sat behind her and wrapped her arms around the blonde haired woman's middle, and Yuno summoned his wind vessel.
“ ‘We’ve’?” Both Neva and Yuno said at the same time, just how many people were there?
———
They all landed softly outside the house a few moments later and walked up to the door, dread was steadily filling William. He knew Yami was going to enjoy this too much, especially since so far every child had been connected to the Black Bulls in some way. He opened the door slowly and looked inside, some of the kids appeared to be at the dining table while others were in the common room. Zora and Nebra were on two opposite ends of the common room, would there come a time those two could look past their differences? Even if it was only for Ace’s sake? William didn’t know at this point. Charlotte and Yami were sitting at the dining table with Alistar and Hikari, all of them appeared to be having a pleasant conversation. Except Yami continuously glared at Alistar, probably because of what Zora said yesterday.
“ Y’know Captain,” Neva started as she looked around the house. “ when you said ‘we’ I was kind of assuming there would be a few people but not-.”
“ Almost an entire squad.” Yuno finished as he looked around himself, William let out a soft chuckle before nodding in agreement.
“ Yes, I guess you could say we’re slowly becoming our own squad. But we make it work.” William shrugged before everyone finally seemed to take notice that there were new people in the house.
“ Hah! Finally, Goldie Guts is going through what I’ve been going through the past few days!” Yami said with a shout of laughter, William chuckled as he walked towards the dining table.
“ Yes the universe decided to finally take pity on you and give you a small reprieve from the future children.” William said, Yami grumbled something under his breath as Hikari and Charlotte also began to laugh softly. Alistar frowned and looked around his father to see who it was and his eyes widened slightly; it was his Auntie Neva and Yuno, which meant it was one of three possible children.
The white haired man stood up and tried his best to look around the two Golden Dawn members to see which child it was, but they were hiding behind their ‘parents’ legs all too well. From what he could see it was a girl, which left two options and he had a feeling he knew which of the two it was.
“ Miku? Is that you?” He called out softly, he watched as the girl poked her head between her parents to look and see who was calling her and she blinked when her eyes landed on the young man.
“ Oh, hi Alistar.” The girl said softly as she moved to stand in front of her parents.
Hikari turned to look at Alistar and frowned; he had relief in his eyes, but he also held confusion and genuine surprise. She turned to look back at the young 12 year old girl, Hikari had only interacted with her a few times so she didn’t know her that well, but she seemed surprised as well, except she was better at hiding it then Alistar.
The white haired man walked away from the dining table and moved to stand in front of Miku, he crouched down in front of her. The two just stared at each other silently as everyone else looked on curiously, it was as though the two were speaking telepathically.
“ What are you doing here?” They asked in unison, apparently neither one had expected to see the other here. Alistar frowned a bit before standing and holding out his hand, Miku looked at him with a frown.
“ I need to talk to you a bit outside if that's ok?” He asked politely and with a soft warm smile, Miku rolled her eyes and walked past him.
“ Of course it’s alright, but I’m not a kid anymore so I don’t need to hold your hand.” She grumbled, Alistar let out a small chuckle before following the girl out of the house.
Everyone just stood there in confusion, completely unsure of what just happened. The two seemed to know each other pretty well, but it still felt like everyone had missed out on some big piece of information that only those two seemed privy to.
“ Alistar and Miku are ‘cousins’ not by blood but more like by choice,” Hikari began to explain. “ since Captain Vangeance and Neva have a sibling-like relationship, Alistar and Miku, along with Miku’s siblings, have adopted a familial relationship as well. So they affectionately call each others ‘cousin’ as well as call Captain Vangeance ‘Uncle William’ and Alistar calls Neva ‘Auntie Neva’.” Hikari added with a shrug, everyone’s confusion seemed to clear slightly, but not completely.
“ Miku’s siblings?” Neva and Yuno once again asked at the same time before they both seemed to pale, this was beginning to be too much for them to handle. They could take down a devil and invade a kingdom set on destroying and taking over the continent and be perfectly ok, but finding out they had children together? Nope, that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
“ Erm, oops?” Hikari said with a nervous laugh, she had said more than she had meant too. Charlotte stood suddenly before looking at Yami and William.
“ I would actually like to speak with you two privately as well.” She said, The two Captains in question looked at each other before nodding and following behind Charlotte as she walked down one of the hallways of the house.
As the Captains left everyone just stood there awkwardly, not really sure of what to do now, since it appeared everyone was having secret conversations.
“ So, nice weather we’re having huh?”
———
Hikari frowned as she watched Alistar and Miku talk, she was watching them through the kitchen window as she assumed they would hear her if she stepped outside. She wondered what on earth they could be talking about, especially since it appeared to be a private conversation. Did it have to do with what Alistar told her a few days ago? About why they had been sent back? If so, then why was Miku sent back as well? It made no sense, especially since she wasn’t-.
“ Y’know,” Josslyn said suddenly, accidentally startling Hikari. She had been so lost in thought she hadn’t sensed the girls Ki or heard her approach. “ There’s something very strange going on with Pretty Boy and the little Princess.” She added.
“ Strange? What do you mean?” Hikari asked, feigning slight ignorance. The pink haired girl scoffed, clearly seeing through Hikari’s lie.
“ You know exactly what I mean, you and Pretty boy are having secret conversations late at night, he’s wearing a normal magic knight's robe instead of his Captain's one, he dodges every question about himself and why he’s here. He’s acting stranger than usual. As though he knows something.” Josslyn said with slight irritation, Hikari could understand the girl's frustration as she was feeling the same, But.
“ We need to trust him. I’m sure he knows what’s truly going on here and why we’re being sent back. But he can’t tell us, not yet. So for now, until he can tell us, we just have to trust him.” Hikari said softly, Josslyn scoffed again.
“ Well you can trust him all you want, but I won’t. The only one I trust here is you and myself, so I guess if you trust him then I’ll trust your judgment. But if anything seems even more suspicious then what it already is, than I’m going to make him talk, willingly or unwillingly.” Josslyn said seriously, Hikari let out a sigh but nodded. She already knew how a fight between the two would turn out, and she can’t say Josslyn would win.
“ Y’know, I could sneak outside and listen to their conversation? They wouldn’t even know I was there.” The pink haired girl said after a moment of quiet fell between the two, Hikari grabbed the girl's arm before she could run off and dragged her into the kitchen.
“ Oh no you’re not. You’re going to help me with dinner.”
———
Yami sighed as he closed the door behind him, Charlotte sat down on the bed as William and Yami leaned against the walls on either side of the door.
“ So what did you want to talk about Princess?” Yami asked as he crossed his arms.
“ I’ve been wondering recently, I don’t know why I didn’t think about it before, but did you ever wonder why Lord Julius gave us this house in particular? I mean, at first it was only three of us living here and the house was too big for just three people. He could have easily given us a smaller house to stay in, but instead he chose this one.” Charlotte started curiously, Yami tilted his head.
“ Maybe he felt like we needed the space?” Yami reasoned with a shrug.
“ As much as I would like to believe that, Lord Julius is a very smart man and he plans things out pretty meticulously. So I doubt he felt that we needed a big house just for the sake of it.” Charlotte argued, William crossed his arms as well.
“ What are you saying Charlotte? You think Julius knew that this was going to happen?” He asked her, the room went deadly silent for a moment before Charlotte spoke cautiously.
“ I...I’m not sure. But it seems all the signs are pointing to that conclusion. Otherwise, why else give us this house with a bunch of rooms and with a wide open field where we could all train if we needed too.” Charlotte said, none of them wanted to believe Julius knew this was going to happen, but considering he did have time magic, maybe it was possible he saw the future or otherwise somehow knew this would be happening?
Suddenly, there was a soft knock on the door.
“ C-Captain Roselei? We need you in the kitchen, Josslyn almost burned it down.” Ace called softly before they heard him walk away. Charlotte sighed before standing and walking towards the door.
“ We keep this between us, we don’t have the full story and I could easily be wrong, but for now, I think we should assume Julius knows more than what he’s letting on.” Charlotte said before walking out of the room, William and Yami shared a look between them. They wouldn’t be completely surprised if Julius was hiding something, but that didn’t mean they still wanted it to be true. The two Captains followed Charlotte out of the room and into the kitchen.
“ Honestly? As long as my squad doesn’t have any more kids coming back, I don’t care how many come from the future.” Yami said with a laugh.
But, the universe had a twisted sense of humor as well, and Yami would find that out the hard way the next morning.

NEXT DAY WOOOO
I was thinking about possible titles today, and though maybe "Percy's Solangelo Theory" was actually pretty solid? It was originally in the placeholder summary, as you can see below
(don't mind the extra bit)
writing the authors notes in advance also helps me when i go to post it, so here's the first draft of those.
I have a pretty solid (in my opinion) end note structure, of "thank you, here's my tumblr, comments are so appreciated please please please, stay safe love you heart" which I think i started pretty early on in my posting journey? If it's multi chapter i will only do my tumblr in the very end note, and will chatter a bit about writing it, or ask a question relating to the chapter and sometimes people will answer in the comments :)
I do have to run an errand today, but I think I'm going to skip my knitting/crocheting group and come home and write instead. This is the progress for now XD
Okay, i am BACK and editing! I usually do minor edits during my rereads, to take some of the weight of editing off my shoulders later on, and it usually pays off for me.
current wordcount after a bit of editing:
I'm making myself laugh with this one, which is good because that's the goal. This is definitely a goofier vibe, and im hoping i can keep it up.
It's been interesting to think about, because i went back to an EPIC: The Musical wip i have, and the energy of that fic is so different, because I was taking it very seriously. I want it to have gravitas, I want the readers to leave it having felt and experienced something of significance, and I want them to come away with something more. And then there's this goofy ass fic. I am an author with many facets apparently XD
I'm going to get myself a snack and a drink and then join a productivity vc to work on this more, will check in again o7
(this was yesterday i forgot to post it because i Did Not Touch It Again that day oops)
write a oneshot with me!
Welcome to the "WIP With Me" post where i tell you in excruciating detail how i write a oneshot fanfiction. We're going step by step here, starting with setting up my document.
I'm using Ellipsus here, because google docs made a (minor) change i am (unfortunately) very upset about (my outline used to look good :< )
I usually have sections i can click to for my outline/braindump area, and "ao3 stuffs" (tags, summary, authors notes, etc.)
As you can see, im not entirely sure what i want to write yet! Right now i want to write a Percy Jackson and the Olympians (or Heroes of Olympus) fanfic, but it very well may end up being more... minecraft youtube -esque. Or witcher.
Now, I'm thinking i want to write a Nico Di Angelo/Will Solace fic, specifically "three days in the infirmary", because i love it and you can never do it too many times, but! I am also thinking doing a Percy/Jason bromance fic might be fun? I started a ficlet yesterday about them, and i think it's an interesting concept, though it would be messy to tag.
I write down my notes and ideas with bullet points or a checklist, sometimes in a physical notebook, but this time i did it in a "draft" (connected doc that i could merge with ellipsus, but won't)
as you can see, i fleshed the concepts out some, very very messily. Yes, the messiness is crucial to the process. this is very likely not going to reflect the final product. you've been warned.
(also, i am just updating this as i go, i am actually at this step in the process as i type it)
OKAY AFTER A BREAK I AM BACK and i think that the "3 days in the infirmary but Percy POV" will be the most fun for me, because obliviousness <3
So now it's time to brainstorm more, or get a couple of outlines about how i want to structure this fic. Maybe a 5+1 fic, like "five times Percy didn't know what was going on, and one time he realized" or something like that
okay so obviously theres a theme happening here, i just think it would be funny for percy to just... be aware for once? it seems like people write him as an airhead, which he is, but surely thats not all there is to him.
i'm So Tired though, so i will pick this back up later tonight or tomorrow to document the Detailed Outline and (hopefully) Writing process! And then after that is editing :)

Dye Day Disasters Part Two
Pairing: Shane ‘Dio’ Morrissey/Reader
Word Count: 1,594
Warnings: Mentions of spicy times, but nothing explicit.
Permanent Taglist: @phoenixhalliwell @star-wars-hell
Three months after you and Dio dye your hair for the first time, he makes a deal with you. You can go with him when he visits his sister if he gets to pick your next hair color. I’m sure that won’t be a decision you regret, right? (Spoiler alert, it isn’t.)
A/N: This is a shameless continuation of a story I posted yesterday, Dye Day Disasters. I have no shame and apparently no self control either. Oops.
You sighed, kicking your feet and waiting. You’d never been good at waiting, but with Dio, waiting patiently got you rewarded, so you were willing to sit by the door and simply wait.
Dio had gone out to the store for dyes and other stuff, and you and him had struck a bargain before he had left. You were both headed out to visit his sister, and he agreed that he’d take you with him for the visit if and only if he got to pick your hair color this time around. You’d relented. In the months since Dio had dyed your hair the first time, you’d gone through plenty of colors, your favorite still being the deep teal with blue streaks that made you look like a mermaid. But now, the fate of your hair was in Dio’s hands.
The door opened, and you eagerly jumped up, seeing Dio walk in with the bag of goodies. “Were you waiting on the floor for me?”
“No!” You lied, hugging Dio tightly. “C’mon, we’re gonna be late.”
Dio smiled, putting the bag down. “Calm down darling. Everly knows we’ll probably be late.”
You pouted. “We won’t be late!”
Grabbing your hands, Dio leaned in close. “Oh really? Because you do get a reward for sitting pretty while I was gone.”
So you were definitely going to be late. Dio rewarded you while you both showered, staying in until the water ran freezing. After that, you had to take care in covering the budding bruises Dio left all over your skin. Yeah, definitely going to be late.
And you were. Thankfully, not by much. Everly, who you’d only met once or twice, was eager to see you, happily hugging you and smiling when you winced at her tight embrace. “Oh honey,” she said. “Did Dio ruin you last night?”
“This morning,” you admitted sheepishly. “I’m gonna get even with him, I swear.”
Everly laughed. “Well, come in!”
You followed her through her house, Dio behind you. Everly chatted to you both, leading you into the garage, which was set up like a one man salon.
“This is where I do most of my work,” she said. “And if I’m not wrong, Dio texted me and told me we’d be using it.”
Dio nodded. “Just dyeing,” he said. “Nothing ridiculous.”
Everly groaned overdramatically. “Fine,” she said. “But, and do remind me to show off the photos, you looked so fun with bubblegum pink hair. Who’s first?”
Dio pointed to you. “They need bleach.”
You grinned. “Yeah. Learned that one the hard way. I was orange for a while when we tried to go from yellow to red.”
“That’s just basic color theory,” Everly said, pointing to the chair. “Sit. What color are we doing?”
Dio pulled Everly aside and showed her the dye, and she eagerly nodded. “Oh that’ll look so good!” She said happily, turning back to you. “But definitely bleach first, to make it pop.”
Still in the dark about your hair color, you said a silent goodbye to the slightly faded navy blue color you had now while Everly pulled a towel that was already bleach stained across your shoulders. “So,” she said, grabbing a bottle of bleach and measuring a decent amount into a bowl. “How goes it baby brother?”
Rolling his eyes at the baby brother comment, Dio began to tell Everly about life. You added bits when he missed something or said something wrong, but you mostly just listened as Everly bleached your hair.
Finally, once you were fairly certain you were going to fall asleep, Everly put the bleach bowl down and nodded. “Alrighty,” she said. “C’mon up now. I gotta fix all of that.” She gestured in Dio’s general direction and you suppressed a smile. “And it might take a while.”
You stood and Dio took your place, shedding his jacket and watching Everly in the mirror. “Have you talked to Brynn recently?”
Everly shrugged. “Yeah. She was here a few weeks ago,” she said, shaking out a cape and pulling it over Dio’s shoulders. “She’s doing well. We went dress shopping.”
Dio nodded, putting his chin to his chest when Everly pushed his head down. “That’s good,” he said.
“Yeah,” Everly agreed. “Oh, and Viv says hi. I saw her yesterday. She was disappointed she couldn’t see you.”
“She lives down the street from me,” Dio said. “She can literally walk to my apartment and visit.”
Everly laughed. “You know Viv. She won’t do it.”
Dio rolled his eyes, and you smiled. Sometimes you forgot how well Dio got along with his sisters.
“Okay baby bro,” Everly said, ruffling Dio’s hair once she was done, in her words, neatening him up. “Hop up. It ain’t your turn anymore.”
She didn’t make Dio get up, mostly because you and him didn’t need to swap places yet. Instead, she sat you in front of a sink and rinsed the bleach away, humming. “So,” she said, looking down at you. “When’s he gonna propose?”
You heard Dio drop something, and you almost knocked your head on the side of the sink in shock. “What?”
Everly laughed. “You two have been together for ages,” she said. “And when I mentioned I was seeing Dio, mom made me promise to ask when you two were getting married.”
“Everly, I will stab you with something,” Dio said, sounding strained.
“And we have not been together for ages,” you added. “It’s been two years.”
Everly rolled her eyes. “You’ve known each other for almost five though,” she said.
“Still not getting married!” You said, and Everly smiled.
“Okay, okay, I’m just the messenger,” she said, wrapping your head in a towel. “Dio. Up.”
Dio stood, sitting where you’d just been while you took his place. Everly dried your hair, asking Dio to turn some music on while she worked. He did, hooking her phone up to an aux cord and immediately flinching at her selection of music. “ABBA? Really?”
“Excuse you!” Everly said over the hair dryer. “ABBA is excellent!”
Dio said nothing, and out of the corner of your eye, you could see him tapping his foot along to the music.
“Finally, the fun part,” Everly said eagerly, turning the chair around so you couldn’t see yourself in the mirror. “Dio, wanna help?”
Dio eagerly got up, standing on your left while Everly took your right.
“Is it gonna be half-and-half again?” You asked. Dio shushed you, putting on gloves and beginning to carefully section your hair. So that was a yes.
Everly mixed the colors behind you, handing Dio a bowl and smiling. “Here we go.”
Between Everly and Dio, the process was much quicker than it was at home. Everly was done first, and began to prep Dio’s black dye while he finished up his side of your head.
Finally, when your hair was entirely coated in dye, you stood so Dio could sit. You tried to sneak a peek in the mirror exactly once, and found yourself unsuccessful and completely deterred from doing it again. Unsuccessful because Everly had put a black towel around your head and deterred because Dio pinched your thigh really hard. “No peeking.”
You pouted, making a very dignified face at Dio and humming along to ‘Killer Queen’ while Everly worked black dye into Dio’s hair.
Finally, he joined you, and you pouted in his direction.
“What?”
“You pinched me!”
Dio smiled. “Would you like me to kiss it better?”
Your pout disappeared. “Can I pinch you back?”
Sighing, Dio bared his arm, and you pinched the sensitive skin on the inside of his elbow. He didn’t even flinch.
“You’re both dorks!” Everly said from across the room.
You smiled, standing up and plopping back down on Dio’s lap, leaning against his chest. He immediately accommodated for you, shifting so you’d both be comfortable.
“Yeah, dorks,” Everly decided, sitting in her chair and swinging around slowly. She held up her phone. “Say hi to Viv.”
You both waved to the phone, and Everly sent the video. “Alright. Forty five minutes. Are y’all in the mood for a movie?”
The answer was yes, mostly because Everly put on Corpse Bride. It was one of Dio’s favorites, so you two stayed cuddled up and watched the first half of the movie. When Everly’s timer went off, you reluctantly stood and stretched, sitting at the sink again and damn near falling asleep as she rinsed the excess dye out.
After a very lengthy blow dry session where Dio was adamant you still couldn’t look, you were allowed to turn around.
“Oh my god,” you breathed, finally seeing your hair. “Dio, I love it!”
Dio smiled. “I knew you would.”
Your hair, which had been navy at the start of this ordeal, was now split between baby blue and a paler pink, reminding you of cotton candy.
Everly grinned. “He picked well. I have to say, not everyone can pull these colors off.”
After that, Dio’s hair was washed and dried, and Everly made good on her promise to send you home with Polaroids of Dio with highlighter pink hair. You waved goodbye, promising to come back soon.
“Did you have fun today?” Dio asked as you two got in the car to go home.
“Yeah,” you said, yawning. “I’m exhausted though.”
Dio smiled. “Get some rest. And thank you for trusting me.”
You leaned back, cradling your head between the car seat and the door. “Wasn’t any question about it Dio,” you said softly. “I’ll always trust you.”
“Always?”
“Always.”

Falling For You -Part 4
December
Pairing-Eventual Dean x Female!Reader
Word count- 6071
Warning- Slight angst, jealousy, one or two swear words, fluff. Slow burn.
A/N- I had an idea for a one shot, and giving a backstory to Dean and the Reader meeting took on a life of its own. This story is AU Thank you to @waywardbeanie and @whatareyousearchingfordean for helping me keep these 2 characters in line and letting me bounce ideas off of you.
Summary- After being burned before you had sworn off finding love for now. Coming home from work one night there is a strange man pounding on your door. Neither of you knew what this meeting would lead to.
Series Masterlist
Your parents Christmas party was two weeks away, but you had a lot of baking to do, and none of it was started. Why did you procrastinate? Oh yeah, not much freezer room here when they are finished, and you had been hanging out with Dean. Coming home from work on Monday, you got a quick workout in before planning to spend the evening in the kitchen.
Recipes out, and ingredients spread on the counter you started working on your first cookie. Tonight you decided, was peanut butter night, which meant making the dough for peanut butter blossoms first, it would sit overnight and cook tomorrow while you were mixing other dough. Santa’s peanut butter cookie bars, and the last item of the night no bakes.
While working on the cookie bars there was a knock on your door which had you pausing to answer it. Hands a little sticky you answered the door as best you could.
“Hey Dean.”
“Hi Y/N, um, you got a little something here, and a here.” He pointed to one side of your face and then your forehead. Wiping it off with your hands you made a bigger mess.
“Moved out almost a week and you forgot where Sam lives already?” You teased him letting him into your apartment.
“No, I came over to see if you would like to grab some food with me. I think you might be a little busy though.”
“Yeah, I’m working on deserts for the Christmas party at my parents in two weeks. Your invitation should be coming any day, I hope you, your brother and Jess can come. I know Cas and Meg will be there too. I was in the middle of baking, but you are welcome to hang out if you want.”
“I got it today actually, I’ll be there. Have you eaten?”
“No, I haven’t thought about it yet.”
“Alright, so let's order a pizza, and I’ll help with quantity control in the kitchen.”
“I won’t have much for you to control tonight, but pizza sounds good.”
While the bar was cooking you got everything ready for the no bakes, deciding to start them after the pizza arrived. Eating at the counter next to Dean, he told you about the shop he was working in. He really liked Bobby, said he was an old grump on the outside but a teddy bear underneath. Bobby’s wife Ellen helped with the book keeping some days, she also owned a bar a little outside of town. He invited you to go with him, Sam and Jess to check it out sometime. Benny and he got along well, he also ran the kitchen at the bar in the evenings.
Santa’s peanut butter bars came out as you were waiting for your no-bake ingredients to boil. Dean went to cut a piece after you had set it down.
“You know that’s going to be extremely hot right?”
“It will cool in a minute, everything is better right out of the oven.” Shaking your head you went back to stirring your pot. “Oh that was good,” came from Dean a few minutes later. “When did you start baking?”
“My mom used to do it all, I’d help with what I could when I was little. Dumping in the ingredients she already measured, or stirring the batter after she mixed it. When you’re a kid you think you are so much help. Then we started doing it together as I got older, I learned from her. Over time I’ve found some of my own recipes to make, or put my spin on others. The last couple of years I’ve taken on most of the party baking, but there are one or two things we will make together for it.”
“You’ve got a real talent for it.”
“Thank you, but you don’t have to humor me.”
Dean wasn’t sure what to say to that, just looking at the back of your head while you were stirring. “It can be a great stress relief too when I’m frustrated with someone or something. It also forces me to find time for the gym.” You continued on not noticing his pause.
You had made a double batch of no-bakes and when they were ready, had talked Dean into helping you spoon them out. As the pot they were in cooled down Dean stuck a finger in the still soft cookie batter before putting it in his mouth.
“Dean, what are you doing?” Trying to keep a stern face as you looked at him.
“Oh, I’m sorry did you want a taste?” He dipped another finger and spread it over your lips before tapping your nose. Neither of you moving, eyes locked on one another before Dean’s ringing phone broke you apart. He went into the living room to take the call, while you wiped off your face and tried to figure out what that was between you. Nothing, right? You guys were just friends, neither of you wanted more, you were seeing things that weren’t there.
“That was Bobby, I have to go. There is a late delivery coming into the shop he was expecting in the morning and he isn’t there to let them in. You um, doing anything this week, or weekend?” He seemed a little more hesitant when he asked that.
“You’re looking at it. Maybe some cleaning and decorating I’m a little behind on it.”
“You need any help?”
“I don’t know about help, but I’ll always take the company if you want.”
“Okay, I’ll see you sometime this week. Night Y/N.”
“Night Dean,” locking up after him you let your thoughts drift to the green eyed man causing you so much confusion. Two months ago you both wanted to avoid relationships, you still didn’t think you were ready to get back out there. You really didn’t want to misread anything from him and scare him away either.
It was Friday night before you saw Dean again, a knock coming just after 5:30. This time he appeared at your door with beer, and burgers.
“Hi, you didn’t have to bring food.”
“Did you eat?”
“No, not yet.”
“Did you have anything here to eat?”
“I probably could have figured out something.”
“Yeah, the burgers were needed. This way more time to work on whatever tonight's project is.”
“Thank you, I appreciate it. Tonight's goal is frosting the sugar cookies I baked yesterday, making the frosting topping for the Cranberry Bliss bar, and the cake for the petit fours.”
“I’m not sure which question to ask first. I’m going to go with what the hell is a petty four?”
Not able to hide a smile and small chuckle you looked at him as you handed him a plate for his burger and fries. “Petit four, ever seen those small cake looking things that are like an inch or smaller, decorated fancy?”
“Maybe? I pay more attention to the pie. Speaking of, are you making any of those?”
“Not exactly, I have cherry pie cookie cups. Petit fours are a type of cake with layers of frosting and I also do a fruit filling in mine too.”

“Sounds complicated, but back to where are these cookie pies? I think I need to check them for you.”
“Sorry, I was out of freezer room here, they already went to my parent’s freezer. And yes, they are complicated. I’ll make the cake today, then it has to cool and slightly freeze, the filling, frosting and glaze will get made this weekend and then put all together.”
“I don’t have that kinda patience. Next question, what are you going to do with all this?”
“It’s a big party, we go through a lot then. It will go back in the freezer after, and the week leading up to Christmas we’ll get it back out and make up trays to give away to friends, business we deal with, and have some left over for Christmas.”
“What does one have to do to get on this list, sweetheart?”
“Don’t worry, I’m sure one will find its way to your door.
“What all is on your party list?”
“The things from Monday, and tonight, buckeyes, cherry cheesecake bar, two different truffles, fudge, cranberry cookies, candies, white chocolate ginger cookies, and choc cherry brownie bites, polar bear faces and some candies.”
“Next week is helping mom clean, with any last minute decorations she hasn’t done, then food Thursday and Friday night. Saturday is the party, Sunday I might not get out of bed.”
Dean laughed at that, “I never said I was joking Winchester.”
“Alright, alright so what are we doing first?”
“You really want to help me? You are welcome to turn on the television and just hang out.”
“Nope, I’m here to bake sweetheart.”
You offered to let him pick something on tv, but he declined so you turned on Hallmark Christmas movies to help you both get in the Christmas spirit. Dean helped you put together the cake for the petit fours, so that could get cooking first. Frosting sugar cookies was next, you had done a few cut outs, but you preferred plain old circles. It saved time and could be decorated any way. The frosting colors were always tied in to that year's decoration colors. This year was blue, white and silver, unfortunately you hadn’t found a silver paste coloring yet. You were going to make three different shades of blues and a simple white. The powdered sugar needed to be shifted still to help keep the frosting smoother. You gave that job to Dean while you got the rest of the ingredients ready.
“Oops,” you heard from behind you. Turning around Dean had put too much powdered sugar in at once then apparently leaned over to see what he was doing. Now he was wearing some on his face and shirt.
“Here,” handing him a wet rag you helped him clean up a little.
“Wouldn’t it be easier to use store bought?”
“Yes, but this recipe tastes better, has a better consistency for decorating with it, and dries so I can stack them without ruining the design.”
“Whatever you say Betty Crocker.”
The two of you both grabbed some cookies and started to decorate, at one point you looked up and had to look away so Dean wouldn't see your smile. The man really likes his sprinkles apparently.
“Wow!” You looked up quickly to see what caused that reaction from Dean.
“What?”
“Your frosting on those, that’s like store bought good.”
Feeling the blush heat up your face you smiled at him, “Thanks, I’ve had a lot of practice over the years. Watched a lot of decorating tips too.”

It was a lot of fun decorating the cookies with Dean, you goofed off a little and tried to “help” each other with the cookie the other was working on at that time. That ended with some, let’s say interesting looking cookies thrown in with the others.
“Hey Dean,” You got his attention while you headed to the sink with the last of the remaining frosting. “I think you got a little something right here,” as you tapped him on the nose with a blue spoon quickly getting out of his reach.
While you were standing at the sink he came up behind you and wiped his frosted nose on the shoulder of your dark green shirt. “Dean!” Neither of you could hold in your laughter.
The last task of the night was the frosting to the Cranberry bars. Dean had snuck a few bits of everything tonight, but you didn’t care. He had earned it. This had been the most fun baking you had had in a long time.
Neither of you had to work tomorrow and retired to the couch to watch a movie when you were all cleaned up. The temperature had dropped this week and despite the heat being on still a little chilly in the apartment. There was a blanket behind Dean he grabbed before sitting next to you and tossing it over you both. You didn’t realize as the movie went on you leaned a little closer in to Dean until he put his arm around your shoulders anchoring you close.
Dean was telling you about his week and how he met the owner’s step daughter, Jo, this week. She had been in everyday to take care of the paper work for Ellen since she had problems at the bar to take care of. According to Dean she was a bit of a talker, and kept coming to the back of the shop where he was working.
Oh you fool, you thought, she’s trying to flirt with you, not just talk. “Was she just there this week?”
“Not sure, I heard her tell Bobby she would be happy to take it over if they wanted her too.”
Of course she would, she wants to see you, went through your head, but all you said “Oh,” You're not looking to date, you have no right to be jealous of her flirting with Dean or hanging out with him at work. Not that he would be interested; he only wants friends right now too, but you found yourself worrying about Dean falling for her.
Dean looked around your apartment as he was walking out, “Not much time for decorating yet?”
“I’m going to work on that tomorrow. What about you? How is your house coming?”
“I only had a few decorations I put up, I won’t be up here anyways.”
“No? Your parents aren’t coming back up?”
“No, we are heading to them. Jess’ parents are going on a cruise that leaves the 26th so Sam and her are heading to see them before Christmas and will meet us in Kansas. I took the week of Christmas off, I’ll drive there either the 20th or 21st and come back here the 27th. Are your parents staying in town for Christmas?
“Yep, we have it at their house every year, and my aunt should be good to travel by then.”
“That’s good, see you tomorrow.”
“What?” He just winked at you and shut the door. Did you have plans you were forgetting?
Late Saturday morning while you were fighting with branches there was a knock at your door. A bright eyed Winchester was waiting to be let in, his coffee in hand.
“I didn’t have plans today, and thought I’d give you some help. Plus I wanted to see how the petty things went together.” He looked at the corner where you had been working, “What is that mess?”
“That’s my tree, thank you very much, and it’s petit four.”
“You know real is the way to go.”
“Says the man with no tree. Maybe it is, except when you live alone, and would have to water it and check it everyday and you have an allergy to the branches making you break out in red itchy spots.”
“Okay, you win.”
Dean helped you get the tree together and put the ornaments up. When you finished with that you got the petit fours out to finish. Dean watched you adding layers to the bottom half of the cake, then put the top half on doing the same, helping when he could.

“Getting the glaze on is the hardest part, mine never look as good as ones you can get in a store.”
“I think they look awesome, if I tried these mine wouldnt be half as good.”
You had ingredients in your cupboard for pasta so you started that inviting Dean to stay for dinner. The night ended much like the last with the two of you side by side watching a movie on the couch.
The next week was pretty busy for you helping at your parents, it went fairly quickly though. Usually during the week you will talk to Dean a few times and text almost everyday, even if it’s just sending the other a funny picture. This week you hadn’t heard from him at all. Guess he was too busy at work with Jo.
The party had been going on for an hour and you still hadn’t seen Dean yet. Sam, Jess, Cas and Meg had all arrived half an hour ago.
It was thirty minutes later when Dean finally arrived. Finding his brother and friend first he said hello to them before looking for you. Finally spotting you talking to a group of people, he hung out behind you for a few minutes before a woman looked up at him and said hello. This had you turning around.
“Hello Dean, so glad you could finally make it.” Was it chilly in here or just your voice.
“Oh, you’re Dean!” Exclaimed the woman who first spotted him.
“Yeah, that’s me,” he gave her a small smile.
The woman looked to you before going back to Dean, “It’s nice to finally meet you, it seems like my daughter has forgotten her manners. I'll introduce myself, I’m Alicia. It's nice to meet you. Y/N said you had helped her with the baking last week. I have to say you two make a great team, thank you for helping her.” She glanced over at you looking at the floor, “I need to go check the food, I’m sure I’ll see you around, Dean.”
“Sorry I’m late, I got called back into work.”
“The shop closes at one on Saturday’s, it’s 8:30 now. Did you walk home and then here?”
“No, Jo was trying to finish up paperwork for November that had to be sent in today. She called me in to explain some of the notes, and expenses. Bobby and Ellen were out of town today so she couldn’t ask them. It took awhile and she wanted to grab dinner, I told her I had a party to be at, but she kept pushing and I went with her for one drink.”
“It’s fine Dean, nothing said you had to be here when it started, or stay the whole time. Have fun, your brother and Cas are around here somewhere. I need to go check the dessert table.”

Turning and quickly walking away, Dean was too caught off guard by your distance to follow right away. You had never given him the cold shoulder like that, he didn’t like it. By the time he caught up to you again, someone else had pulled you into conversation. Waiting a few minutes for you to finish, finally deciding to go find Sam and the rest of that group when you didn’t. He was fairly certain you were upset with him, and that didn’t sit well at all.
He passed by the food set up in the dining room, and kept going. As much as he was starving when he got here, he seemed to have lost his appetite now. Meg and Jess were gone when he rejoined the guys. He pretended to listen to their conversation, but he wasn’t really there. Why were you so mad, was it because he was late, or did something else happen? Why did you care when he showed up, there were numerous other people here. His original plan was to come early and see if you needed help, but going over paperwork with Jo took much longer than expected. She couldn’t seem to concentrate on her work.
Excusing yourself from the family friend who cornered you , you made your way to your old room. Needing a few minutes of alone time to calm yourself down. You were jealous, but no way would you admit that to anyone else. Your door opened minutes after you shut it, looking up Jess and Meg walked in sitting across from you on the bed.
“Partied out already, or hiding from someone?” Meg gave you a knowing look waiting for your answer. “You do know Dean is downstairs right?”
“Neither, I just needed a minute, too many people down there for me. Yeah, I know he finally showed up, not that I care”
“Liar,” spoke up Jess.
“The two of us are completely sure you being up here has nothing to do with a green eyed bowlegged mechanic you have been looking for all night.”
“Nope, not at all. Why should I care if he spent the evening helping the boss’ daughter do paperwork, or that he took her out for dinner.” Staring at your friends you didn’t say anything else.
“Yep you're just fine,” when you didn’t say anything else Meg continued, “know we are here whenever you want to talk about whatever is going on in your head.”
You all rejoined the party. This was always one of your favorite nights as much as you were looking forward to having Dean here tonight, you weren’t up to seeing him right now. You had caught up with your friends on and off the rest of the night. Mostly when Dean had stepped away. You were ready for the night to be over.
Sunday morning Dean stood outside your apartment door knocking without any answer. The door behind him opened but he didn’t realize it until hearing a voice he knew well.
“You know I live in 43 right?”
“Yes, bitch, I do. Y/N lives in 44. She was off last night and I wanted to talk to her. Picked up breakfast on the way over so she wouldn’t have to make anything. But if she doesn’t open the door I can’t give it to her.”
“Jerk, It’s still a bit early, did you text her?”
“Yeah, but she didn’t respond.”
“You’re welcome to wait for her in here if you want to try again in a bit.” After knocking again, he followed Sam inside.
Rolling over in bed, you reached over petting the dog laying next to you. You missed having a dog around, but your apartment wasn’t pet friendly. Grabbing a sweatshirt you made your way downstairs to see what your parents were up to. You had decided to spend last night in your old room so you would be here to help with any more clean up this morning. It was a good hour later when it finally dawned on you that you hadn’t checked your phone this morning. Picking it you realized the battery died, and you didn’t bring a charger. You were the only one without an iPhone so their chargers wouldn’t work on yours. That will have to wait till I get home later.
Getting off the elevator later that afternoon you ran into Sam. “Hey, Dean was looking for you earlier, but you never answered your door. He waited for awhile, but had to get going.”
“I stayed at my parent’s last night, and didn’t take a charger for my phone. Thank you guys for coming last night.”
“It was fun, thanks for inviting us. When your phone has a charge, text Dean back, he has texted me a few times since he left asking if I’ve seen you.”
“Alright, talk to you later Sam.”
When your phone finally had some life you sent Dean a text apologizing for missing him when you weren’t home.
“Can I come over?” Dean texted back.
You had to debate with yourself whether you wanted him to or not. He had done a lot to help you last week, and been a much needed friend. Did he really deserve the cold shoulder because you were jealous? You texted back ‘If you want.’
Fifteen minutes later there was a knock on the door, putting on a smile you let Dean in. Maybe you could pretend your behavior last night didn’t happen.
“Hi Dean.”
“Hey Y/N, thanks for letting me come over.”
“Not a problem, how was your day?”
“Alright, a little worried my friend is mad at me, and I really want to fix that. I’m sorry I was so late. I was actually going to come early and see if you needed help, I’m sorry work got in the way. I tried to bring you breakfast this morning so you wouldn’t have to get out of bed and mess with anything this morning.”
Guess he wasn’t going to go along with your plan to pretend it didn’t happen. “I’m sorry Dean, I shouldn’t have gotten that upset. You didn’t have to be there right at 7, I was excited to have you there last night and it shouldn’t have mattered when you came. I should have enjoyed having you there when you arrived. I ruined it for both of us, I’m sorry. Sorry, I missed breakfast with you this morning.”
“It’s okay, I just really don’t want to lose my friend. If you really wanted to make it up to me, go shopping with me tomorrow night? I need some help with Jess and Mom, please?” He gave you the best puppy dog eyes he could muster.
“Sure, I still have a bit to do also.” Dean had been the best thing to happen to you in awhile, you didn’t want to lose him either. Hopefully a night at the mall could help things go back to the way they were. “Pick me up after work?”
“I’d be happy to.”
“Have you eaten dinner yet? I have leftovers from the party if you want to stay for dinner?”
“Seriously? Yes, I didn’t end up getting anything last night.”
Both of you worked in the morning, so instead of starting a movie after dinner you just turned a tv show on. Tonight you two didn’t sit as close as you previously did, honestly you missed it. You made small talk, he asked how things were at your parents’ house. You told him everything cleaned up fairly quick, staying there made you miss having your dog around.
Snow was lightly falling on the way to the mall, you were hoping for a white Christmas. Dean asked about your day, not much happened for you at work. He was telling you about a classic car that just came in he was working on. He really enjoyed his job, his green eyes shining as he talked about the different parts that needed restoring.
Arriving at the mall it became clear Dean really didn’t have any ideas on what to get either woman, so you offered various suggestions in the stores you were in. Finally getting Jess done, Dean picked up a scarf you knew she wanted, and some fun picture frames to go on her collage wall. His mom was proving trickier.
“Any hobbies?” you asked, leaving the 6th different store.
Dean thought for a moment, “She does like horror movies.”
“Yeah, I’m coming to realize you are all obsessed with monsters. How about not for Christmas. Any place she mentioned she would want to go?”
He thought for a few minutes “Actually I heard her talking to Jess about a new place that opened up in town.” When Dean finished telling you about you pulled out your phone to see if you could google it. Finding what you needed you explained your idea to Dean and what you could get up here and what he would need to get once he was back in Kansas.
With that accomplished you two wandered around a few more stores looking for items to fill the rest of your lists.
Thursday was the next time you saw Dean, running into him in the apartments’ parking lot. He was on his way to meet Sam for something. Making small talk in the elevator, without thinking you asked something you didn’t really want to know.
“How’s Jo been?”
Dean gave you a funny look, “I don’t really know, she hasn't been in the shop the last couple days.”
“Oh, I thought you might talk to her outside of work.” What are you doing Y/N, do you really want to know this.
“No. I don’t really have a reason to need to talk to the boss’s daughter outside of work.”
“Okay. I have something in my apartment for you, I meant to drop off. If you have time stop over before you leave.”
“Is it pie?”
“Sorry, not this time.”
When you got inside your apartment you went to check and see what ingredients you had in your cupboard. Finding pecans and a pack of crescent rolls you decided to whip up something quick. A little over an hour later you heard a knock at your door. Inviting Dean in you walked back over to the kitchen where the timer was going off.
“Something smells amazing.”
“I didn’t have any fruit to make a regular pie filling, but I did have some pecans I never used for the party, I made you a pecan pie bar, I hope it’s okay.” You could almost see Dean’s mouth start to water. “I’ll get you a fork and plate.”
“I don’t need a plate, the pan is fine.”
While Dean was eating you grabbed the item you picked up for him from the spare room.
“I know you don’t have a tree because you won’t be here for Christmas, but I thought you needed something. Even if it’s not real.” You had picked him up a little prelit tree and decorated it to have in his house.

“It’s great, thanks Y/N. You didn’t have to do that though.” Dean gave you a hug as you set it down next to the pan of bars.
“I know, I wanted to. You can set it on that skinny table you have and set the presents underneath it after you wrap them.”
“Oh, that’s right I have to wrap them. Hey sweetheart, do you think you might come over one night and help me with…”
“Seriously Winchester? How would you ever make it without me, do you even have paper?” Laughing you agreed to come over Saturday and wrap what he had.
“Of course I do.”
Knowing you were just hanging around the house and wrapping presents you put on yoga pants and a baggy sweatshirt to head to Dean’s knowing he would be hanging out in sweats by now too. Sure enough he answered the door in a grey henley and black sweats. The fireplace was on in the living room and with the presents and wrapping paper on the coffee table. Dean ordered pizza and found Die Hard on tv. He was sitting on the couch watching you work, when you looked up at him.
“Are you planning on helping me at all or just watching?”
“Which answer won’t get me in trouble?” The bitch face you sent his way might rival Sam’s. “I was kidding, I was just watching how you do it. Very nice wrapping by the way.” The roll of wrapping paper flying at him barely missed his arm.
Two presents into Dean wrapping, you knew why he wanted help. When the pizza arrived you set him free. Finishing the last gift you leaned back against the couch rolling your shoulders to loosen them up after being hunched over. Dean was sitting up on the couch behind you and leaned down to rub your stiff shoulders.
“Thanks for that.”
“Least I could do for you wrapping those.” Before you left for the night you put the gifts under his tree best you could.
You spent the next week trying to catch up with your own Christmas shopping, get the cards in the mail, and trying to find time to just enjoy the Holidays. Friday night you, Charlie, Meg and Jess donned your best ugly sweaters and leggings, spending the evening at your place vegging out and watching movies.
You woke up early Saturday morning to head to Dean’s house before he left. Knocking on his door he was surprised to see you.
“I just wanted to stop over before you left. I brought you some of the desserts to take to your parents house.” You had given Dean a plate of them the weekend before when you came over to wrap. “I expect those to make it to Kansas so you better put them in the trunk.”
“I don’t know sweetheart, I might need a snack for the road. Eleven hours is a long trip.”
“I figured you would, there is a bag of the cherry pie cookies in there for you.”
“You are too good to me.” Giving you a kiss on the cheek he walked past you to put them in his car while you followed him over.
“Do you need help doing anything before you go?”
“I’m all set, car is loaded, just have to refill the coffee in my travel mug, wash the pot and lock up the house.
Waiting while Dean finished with his coffee you walked out to the car with him. “Have a safe trip, and Merry Christmas. See you when you get back.”
“Thank you sweetheart. Thanks for your help and the cookies. Have a Merry Christmas yourself.” With a hug you walked to your own car watching the Impala drive away.
You were definitely going to miss him this week. A little after one that afternoon you received a text from Dean saying he was in Springfield, Illinois and halfway there, he would text you when he arrived at his parents. Around seven, that text arrived along with a picture of a house you were guessing belonged to John and Mary. The two of you talked a few times over the week, he called later than usual Tuesday night, and seemed to be really down.
On Christmas Eve you went to Mass with your family before heading to your parents house for dinner with your grandparents, some of your parents siblings, and cousins. Games followed and a few hours later the house cleared out. You spent the night there since you would be having Christmas morning there with your dad’s family. Dean had texted you a few times throughout the day, Sam arrived today so you hoped he could help his brother with whatever was going on.
Christmas morning you sent Dean a text before helping your mom with breakfast. Your dad’s family spent the morning at the house before heading elsewhere for the afternoon. Your mom’s family started coming over around 2, they stayed for dinner and games. You loved your family but were glad to have an empty house spending time with your parents when everyone was gone.
That evening you went back to your apartment. Sitting on the couch looking at your Christmas tree you saw a big gift bag Jess had dropped off before leaving town. She told you you couldn’t open it till Christmas, that was now right? Grabbing it you brought it back to the couch with you.
First you pulled out a big oddly wrapped lump, unwrapping it you found a Chocolate Lab plush. He reminded you of your dog you had growing up. The next item was a t-shirt that had you cracking up. In the bottom of the bag was a card.

Y/N,
I think this goes to show what we both already knew, I can’t wrap worth a damn. This guy reminded me of the pictures I have seen in your apartment. He might not be able to follow you around, or bark at strangers, but hopefully he can keep you company. I got a laugh out of the shirt and I hope you do too.
Merry Christmas Sweetheart,
Dean

Dean called you later that evening.
“Hi, Merry Christmas Dean.”
“Merry Christmas to you Y/N. How was your day?”
“It was good. Scooby and I are relaxing back home now.”
“Good, um who’s Scooby?”
“This really cute chocolate lab plush that my good friend got me. Thank you Dean, he’s great.”
“Not a problem Sweetheart. Glad you like him, Scooby?”
“That was my dog's name growing up, I was a big Scooby Doo fan. Still am”
He started laughing, “So was I. Yeah, I wouldn’t rush to change the channel if it was on now either.”
The two of you talked more about your days. He was ready to leave, but Sam and Jess were riding back with him, and he didn’t want to pull them away yet. Something happened while he was home, he didn’t sound like himself. If you had to guess it was why he called you Tuesday night. You wondered if you would find out what that was.

Hold me tight, tell me I’m the only one
Pairing: Peter Parker x female reader
Word count: 4.1k (I got a tad bit carried away oops)
Warnings: so much fluff that you may just have a mouthful of cavities.
Summary: In which you ask a clueless & oblivious Peter to the 60′s themed prom. The description doesn’t do it justice okay I’m bad at summarising I apologise.
A/N: This is the first time I’ve written for my little angel Peter! Also I wish my actual prom went as well as it did here.
Prom. It was arguably one of the most important events in your junior year. Homecoming paled in comparison to prom, and it was a massive deal to ask someone, and to be asked in return.
People were getting asked out left and right, and in the most elaborate ways possible.
Except for the trio, not surprisingly.
It was a week before prom, and the prom committee was hanging a large banner in the cafeteria. The theme was the 1960’s, and the writing was in the same font as 'The Beatles' logo.
Peter sat down, joining Ned at their usual table. Ned was going on about something, but Peter wasn’t listening to anything that he was saying. He was too focused on you, as you stood on the ladder hanging up the banner.
You weren’t the most popular girl in school, but you were popular adjacent. You took AP classes and were nice and pretty, so naturally people noticed you, but you were a notch down from the ‘elites’. Peter liked that you were nicer than they were, and that you didn’t let your ‘popularity’ go to your head.
Peter knew he had no chance with you whatsoever, but it didn’t stop him from admiring and pining over you.
What did stop him was a swift smack to the back of the head, courtesy of MJ’s binder.
“Ow! What the heck MJ, what possessed you to do that?” Peter rubbed the back of his head, wincing while doing so.
“Because I caught you looking at her again.” She shrugged. “I’m trying to get you to stop doing that, so now when I catch you looking at her, I’ll smack you.”
“What would that help?” Peter asked as he took a bite of his pizza.
“It’s classical conditioning, Peter. It’s basic psychology. Didn’t you pay attention in class, dork? You’ll associate her with being smacked upside the head and then you’ll stop staring at her like a creep.” She grinned as she stole a carrot from his lunch tray.
“Yeah well I’m not one of Pavlov’s dogs, I don’t need to be classically conditioned.” He propped his arm on the table and leaned on it, as he let out a sigh, continuing to watch you talk with your friends.
“Just ask her to prom already.” MJ took a loud bite of the carrot and didn’t bother to close her mouth as she chewed.
“I can’t do that, she doesn’t even care that I exist. Besides she’s probably been asked by someone way more popular than I am.”
“You’ll never know until you ask.”
Ned chimed in, “That’s true, maybe it’s like a paradox. You would think she’s already taken because she’s semi popular, but if everyone assumes she’s already been asked, then no one will actually ask her.” He paused as he took a bite of his granola bar. “I have an idea. I sit by her in AP US History; she always gives me snacks because she knows I’m hungry. Anyway I’ll see if she’s been asked, and if not then you need to hop on the opportunity.” Ned added as MJ gave him a high five.
“Precisely, what he said.” She stole another carrot from Peter’s tray, and he just pushed the tray towards her so she could eat them.
“Fine, but I still have no chance.” He uttered, taking a sip of his juice box.
--
The next day, Ned practically knocked Peter over at his locker.
“Dude, dude you are not going to believe it! Okay so yesterday (Y/N) asked me if I was going to prom with Betty and I said no, because we were going to see a movie together instead. But then she asked if you were going and I said no, but then she was like ‘Well that’s a shame, prom would be a lot more fun if you guys went.’”
“Sooo?” Peter grabbed his book from the locker and slammed the door shut.
Ned grabbed his shoulders and shook him around. “It means that she wants us to come! Maybe she wants you to ask her, I mean why would she ask me first if we were going. She knows I’m with Betty which means she was inquiring about you! Think about it!”
Peter grabbed Ned’s arms and pried his hands off his shoulders.
“Or maybe it’s because she’s on the prom committee and she wants people to attend. It’s her job to recruit people.”
“Hm, you might be right. That would be more plausible.” Ned said as he and Peter walked down the hallway. “But hey, at least she knows you exist.”
“Did you find out if she’s already been asked to prom?” Peter nudged Ned in the shoulder. “Oh rats, I forgot to ask that. My bad.” Ned said as he snapped his fingers.
“Sometimes dude, you are no help.” Peter said as he dodged the herd of students trying to get to class.
Peter insisted on walking the long way to Chem because then he could pass by your locker and get a little glimpse of you. He would notice you always organising your books in the same order, and checking yourself out in the small locker mirror to make sure you looked alright. Even though walking the long way would mean he’d be a minute or two late to class, it was well worth it.
You grabbed your statistics book out of your locker, and to Peter’s surprise, you waved at them. At first he wasn’t sure it was directed at him, but once you said “Hello Ned and Peter!” he knew it was directed at him.
You walked over to them, clutching your textbook to your chest and slightly rocking back and forth on your heels.
“Hey! Ned said yesterday that you weren’t going to prom, so why not? It’ll be a ton of fun, and I’ve also been working really hard on it and I want my efforts to be appreciated.”
“That’s nice of you to ask (Y/N), but I don’t really like going to dances. I was planning on having a Star Wars marathon instead.” He grimaced when he realised how stupid and pathetic it actually sounded, but you didn’t jump at the opportunity to make fun of him.
“Me either, to be honest. I only attend because I plan them; apparently you can’t plan a party and not attend. I mean sure, Gatsby did it but then again it wasn’t required for class participation. Anyways, it’ll be so much fun if you went, please? For me?” You drew out the last word and pouted, and Peter had to grab on to Ned to make sure he wouldn’t faint.
“I, erm, well haven’t had anyone to ask yet, I mean I’m not sure anyone would want to go with me anyway.” Peter rambled as you looked at him sympathetically.
“Yeah, well, I haven’t been asked either, so you wouldn’t be alone.” You hinted, hoping that Peter would ask you to prom.
You had always liked Peter. He was patient, kind and extremely intelligent, there was never a doubt about that. He was always sticking up for people, and you were amazed at how he never lost his temper. You loved his curly hair, his freckles, and how he always smelled like vanilla. He always avoided you when you had a class together, so you assumed that he didn’t care for you much. You had no idea how wrong you really were.
Ned elbowed Peter in the side as he tried to prompt him to ask you out. You were standing right in front of him, and yet Peter was frozen.
“Ah, well it’s not that bad. You have a week to find someone to ask you.” You visibly frowned when he said that, and you just nodded your head.
“Y-yeah, I do have some time, thanks. Anyway see you around.” You walked in the opposite direction from the boys, and Ned elbowed Peter in the side again.
“You idiot! You messed it up!” Ned was smacking Peter continuously, not even caring when Peter pushed him, as Ned knocked over a trash can.
“Oh come on, she didn’t really want me to ask her, did she?” Peter asked, and Ned just slapped him again.
“She did! Why do you think she came over to us and said hi, and then mentioned that she hasn’t been asked to prom yet. She wanted you to ask her to prom and you blew it.”
Peter leaned his head back as he covered his face with his hands. “Oh my god, I really did mess it up.”
“Yeah you think?” Ned was cut off when the bell rang, signaling that they were late to class.
“See you at lunch, Ned.” Peter waved to Ned as he trudged to class.
He knew that he blew it with you, and the last thing he wanted to do was go to class. But he made his way to Chem, hoping that it would distract his mind from what just happened.
He only had to make it through the rest of the day, and then he could go home and cry about it.
—
“I can’t believe it, I tried to hint at him to ask me out but he didn’t.” You signed to your friend Daphné as you plopped on the floor, sitting criss cross.
You and Daphné were best friends since the first grade, and when you learned that she was going deaf, you both learned sign language together so that you could communicate.
“Boys don’t get hints, you know, Peter is pretty clueless.” Your friend Daphné signed back, emphasizing the sign for ‘clueless’.
“I know, but he’s so cute. He doesn’t seem to like me though, he told me that I’ll find someone soon to ask me. Like no, you dork, I want you to ask me out.”
“Trust me, he is always staring at you. Maddie texted me saying that she overheard Ned say that Peter walks the long way to Chem so that he could pass by your locker every day. He clearly likes you, but he’s nervous. Why don’t you ask him out? If he’s too clueless to take a hint, then you should take matters into your own hands and ask him.” Daphné grinned as she signed.
“Maybe I will, thanks Daph.” You signed back as Daphné grabbed a piece of poster paper and some markers. She handed you the materials, and you signed “thank you” to her.
“Ask him at lunch.” She signed as you nodded, grabbing your pencil as you began to sketch out the design.
—
As lunch came around, Peter sat there at the table glumly, not even caring when MJ took his burger from his tray.
“Hey sport, what’s got you down and out?” She said with her mouth full.
“Peter blew it with (Y/N). She saw us in the hallway, and actually spoke to us. She said that she hadn’t been asked to prom yet, and you know what this idiot did?” He motioned to Peter as he let out a sigh, leaning forward to rest his head on the table. “He said, ‘Well you’ll find someone soon to ask you’ like a doofus.”
“Oof, you really did ruin it Peter.” MJ agreed as she continued to eat his burger.
“Don’t remind me, I just need this day to end.” He groaned. He began to lightly hit his head against the table while saying “I. Am. Such. An. Idiot.”
Just then, you were approaching their table, poster in hand. You strutted over to them, and Ned gasped as you stood right behind Peter, tilting your head to see why he was slouched over the table. You gently placed your hand on his back, and let out a little “Peter” in a soft voice.
He shot his head up, nearly giving himself whiplash as he recognized your voice.
“Oh hi, I wasn’t sleeping or anything.” He said as he slapped his forehead with his palm. God I can be such an idiot, he thought.
“That’s good, because I have something to ask you.” You grinned as you held the poster behind your back so that he couldn’t see it.
“Uh yeah sure, what is it (Y/N)?” He asked as you pulled the poster from behind you, opening it so that he could read it.
The poster was black with little stars, and it read: “Yoda one I want to go with to prom”, with baby Yoda right next to the words. The print was in the same font as the Star Wars logo, and the word ‘prom’ was filled entirely of glitter. You clearly put a lot of effort into it, and he couldn’t stop grinning at how precious you were.
“I know you like Star Wars so, yeah. That’s all.” You grinned as he sat there shocked. This can’t be happening, he thought, I can’t believe she really wants me to go to prom with her.
“Well Peter, are you going to give me an answer?” You asked, swaying back and forth on your heels.
“Of course.” Heat rose to Peter’s cheeks as you hugged him from behind, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. You took a step back as Peter got up from the table and pulled you into a proper hug. Applause filled the cafeteria when they noticed he said yes, and you let go of Peter’s embrace.
“Penis Parker got asked to prom by (Y/N)? God what day is it, ‘ask a dork to prom’ day?” Flash exclaimed as he got a few laughs from the kids in the cafeteria.
“Ignore him, thank you for saying yes.” You said as he nodded and added “Thank you for asking.”
“You can keep the poster.” You handed it to him, and he rolled it up and put it in his bag. You stood there for a second, unsure of what to do next, but you didn’t want to bug Peter anymore. “Okay well have a nice lunch.” You began to turn around, but you stopped when you felt that Peter grabbed your hand.
“Um, would you want to eat lunch with us? If that’s alright with you and your friends of course.” He asked as you looked down at the hand that he was holding, smiling. “Yes of course, let me just grab my things.” You let go of his hand as you practically ran back to your table, grabbing your food and backpack as you made your way back to Peter’s table.
You set the pizza box down on the table that you ordered from Postmates earlier. You then sat down, making yourself comfortable as you opened the box and grabbed a slice. You noticed Peter eyeing the pizza, his mouth slightly watering as he continued to stare at it.
“You can have a slice, Peter.” You motioned to the pizza as he eagerly grabbed one and took a huge bite out of it.
“Someone” he tilted his head to MJ “ate my burger.” He said as you patted him on the arm sympathetically. “It’s okay, you have an even better lunch now.” You added as Peter nodded.
Sitting and eating pizza with Peter was the best lunch you’ve ever had.
—
The dance was only three days away, and you were staying at the school late, working on the decorations and ordering last minute supplies. You stayed behind while everyone else left, not wanting to miss their other obligations.
Peter stayed late for an academic decathlon meeting, and as he was walking down the hallway, he heard music playing from a classroom. He followed the music and noticed that you were in the classroom by yourself, dancing to the music as you were gluing a flower to the backdrop. He stood in the door frame, admiring how cute you looked when you were dancing. Your head bobbed to the music, your hips slightly swaying to the beat as you hummed the lyrics.
“Do you need some help?” You heard a voice from behind you, and you turned around to notice Peter standing in the doorway. He looked cute in his sweater and jeans, and you noticed his hair was slightly ruffled.
“I think I’m good, thank you for asking though.” You said as you turned the music down slightly. “What are you doing here so late?”
“I could ask you the same, but I just got out of acadeca practice.” He rested his arm on the door frame, and you couldn’t help but smile at how cute he was.
“Wow, you’re cute and smart.” You said, and Peter began to blush.
“Thank you, you as well.” He said as he felt himself blush.
“Would you like some help?” He took a step into the classroom. “I’d love to help you out, it seems stressful to set the whole prom up.”
“It is, and I would love the help, thank you Peter. Maybe this can wait until tomorrow, I’m pretty exhausted. I’m just worried that this-” you motioned to the backdrop “won’t be finished in time by Saturday. I haven’t really had much help with it.”
“Well I’d love to help you tomorrow after school, I’m available all day.”
“Thank you, I appreciate that.” You pulled him into a hug, but he stood there motionless, unsure of what to do. You idiot, hug her back, he thought to himself, but before he could put his arms around you, you had pulled away.
“Can I walk you to your car?” Peter asked as you grabbed your things.
“I’d love that, thank you again. Do you need a ride home?” You asked as he nodded his head no. “My aunt is actually waiting for me in the parking lot.”
“Good, I want to make sure you get home safe.” You replied and Peter smiled. “You too, now let’s go.” He said as you turned the lights off in the classroom, locking the door behind you as you two left.
—
Saturday finally rolled around, and you were beyond excited. You loved everything about the ‘60s, from the fashion, to the music, to the dancing. You were so happy the committee chose your theme, and you were so committed to the theme that you asked your grandma for a dress from that era. She had an extensive wardrobe with many outfits from the decades she’s lived through, and they were in nearly perfect condition. You decided to go with this dress, which was a peach coloured long sleeve dress, with buttons and a collar. You paired the outfit with white and black patent leather short block heels.
Your grandma even helped you with the makeup, giving you a Brigitte Bardot inspired look, and did your hair in the same way. You really wanted to look and be as authentic as possible.
Admiring your outfit in the mirror, you danced to “A Night To Remember” from the High School Musical 3 soundtrack, practicing the twist and other dance moves.
--
Peter wore a suit and tie, and had May help him with the tie.
“I can’t believe it, you’re actually going to prom! I remember my prom like it was yesterday. I went with Marc Fisher, and he and I danced all night, and stayed up all night too if you know what I mean.” She winked as Peter gagged. “Just be safe, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Remember that.” She placed a kiss on his forehead and helped him straighten his tie. “You are so handsome Peter, I know for sure she is one lucky girl to be going with you.”
“Thank you May, I feel like the lucky one for being able to go with her.” He added, smiling as he fixed the curl in front of his face.
“Now remember Peter, be a gentleman. Open doors for her, ask her if she wants to dance, and make sure that you give her your jacket if she gets cold.” Peter nodded as he was making a mental note of everything.
May patted Peter on the back and handed him the corsage. “Now dance the night away and get groovy with it.” She laughed as she began to dance, while Peter headed towards the door. “Love you May.”
“Love you too Peter, be safe!” She called out as he closed the door.
You told him that you would pick him up at his apartment, so he waited outside for you to pull up. A few minutes later, you drove up in a retro 1960′s Mini, embellished with a union jack painted on the roof of the car. He then gasped as you stopped the car and got out, as you looked like you stepped out of a retro cover of Vogue.
“Wow” was all he could say as you stood there in front of him, arms at your side as you spun around so that he could see the whole outfit. “You look extremely beautiful; I am truly the luckiest guy in the world right now.” You blushed as he handed you the corsage, and luckily it matched your dress colour perfectly.
“Thank you Peter, you look very handsome yourself.” He blushed as you interlocked your arm in his.
“Tell me honestly, did I go a bit overboard with the whole outfit, even going as far as renting a vintage car?” You asked and Peter shook his head no. “Honestly, I love how dedicated you are to the theme, it shows you really care.” You smiled as you took Peter’s hand in yours, as you led him to the car.
You drove to the venue, which was a community center by a lake, and it was a beautiful location. The committee set up the night before, so that you would have the day of prom to get ready. Peter was amazed at how gorgeous everything looked, and he knew that you had worked so hard on it. He noticed the backdrop to the photo booth that he helped you work on, and he couldn’t help but smile. It felt bittersweet knowing that once prom was over, he wouldn’t have a reason to hang out with you anymore. He didn’t want this night to end, because then he’ll just be back to Peter Parker, and not your date anymore.
Music filled the air as people were around dancing, and the music was a mix of modern and music from the 60s.
“Wanna dance?” You asked as you held your hand out, and Peter gladly took it. “Disclaimer, I’m not the best dancer though.” He said as you led him to the dance floor.
“I doubt that, everyone can do the twist.” You said as you danced and he joined in.
‘Hold Me Tight’ by the Beatles came over the speakers, and you squealed. The Beatles were your favourite band and you had always dreamed of dancing with someone to this song. You were happy knowing that the ‘someone’ was Peter.
‘It feels so right, now hold me tight. Tell me I’m the only one, and then I might, never be the lonely one.’ They sang as Peter held you close to him. He had one hand on the small of your back and the other holding your hand as you two danced to the music.
Peter and you were singing along to the lyrics, and you didn’t realise how close he was to you. “It feels so right, now hold me tight.” Peter sang into your ear, causing you to blush.
“Tell me I’m the only one.” You whispered back, and Peter held you even closer. He looked at you with so much love and adoration, and in that moment it only felt like the two of you, dancing to one of your favourite songs. You two swayed and moved to the beat, but suddenly you two stopped dancing.
Peter looked into your eyes, and then back down at your lips. He licked his, causing you to look down at them. You two were so close that you could feel his heartbeat, and you could see each and every one of his freckles up close. You wrapped your arm around his shoulder, and he pulled you even closer to him, as he pressed his forehead to yours.
“(Y/N), thank you for asking me to prom, I’m sorry I didn’t have the courage to do so before.” You leaned in so that your lips were only a few centimetres apart, and all you wanted to do was lean in more to kiss him.
“You’re welcome, Peter. I’m just happy you said yes.” Peter let out a “mm” as he cupped your cheek, and you leaned into his touch.
“May I please kiss you?” You whispered, and he replied “Yes.” His lips grazed yours, and he pressed his lips to yours. His lips were soft and they tasted like vanilla chapstick.
After a few seconds, you pulled away first. Peter, suddenly with a bit of confidence, pulled you into a deeper kiss. You were shocked at his burst of confidence all of a sudden, but were happy that he was finally showing you he liked you too.
“I feel like the happiest man ever.” He said against your lips, as you just pulled him into another kiss.
High school musical was right, this truly was a night to remember.

Too Fast For Your Own Good Part 1
(part 2) (part 3)
Pairing: Takami Keigo (Hawks x Reader)
Words: 4814
Summary: Soulmate!AU - the first words your soulmate says to you is written on your body in ink.
Genre/Warnings: Nothing? Fluff maybe?
A/N: I got carried away and this got too long so now it’s two parts! Hahaha oops sorry. Anyways, pls enjoy I spent hella time on this! Also posted on my ao3 @ allie_win
When Takami Keigo turned 13, a small tattoo formed on his back, just between his wings.
The first thing he remembers was the burning sensation he felt in the middle of the night. He remembers yelping from the pain, turning on the light, and looking in the mirror to see what it was.
Takami was worried that something was happening to his wings, but he was relieved to see that it was his soulmate mark, something he completely forgot about.
I know I am.
Takami spent that night staring at the marking, admiring the way they curved around his wings. Finally, he had the promise of love.
The next day, Takami came to training sleep-deprived yet still shining happily. He remembers telling a man at the company about it, only for him to brush it off by saying, “Don’t think about your soulmate mark, you will be a hero with no time for romance.”
After that, Takami did not anticipate the meeting of his soulmate. Those words got Takami through a lot of tough situations. They pathed the way for his personality to form.
~~
When Y/L/N Y/N turned 13, a small tattoo formed on your back, just between your shoulder blades.
The burning sensation that you woke up to in the middle of the night scared you so much that you accidentally stopped time. The colorful world turned gray and you took this chance to turn on the lights and check the new mark.
Your parents expected this and preemptively explained the situation to you. They did not, however, describe the pain you were currently feeling.
You spent as much time as you could looking at the words on your back before turning off the lights, getting back into bed, and letting time once again flow without immediate interruptions.
So apparently you’re faster than me?
The words didn’t leave your head that night, and your parents also questioned the meaning when they saw it in the morning.
A thought that frequently crossed your mind was that obviously you were faster than them. You could stop time! Granted, you couldn’t breathe while you were stopping time, which meant you had to spend time training your breathing, but you could currently go a whole minute without feeling your lungs heat up.
The idea of speed eventually made sense when you were signing up to take the entrance exam at U.A. High School. The professor signing you up asked to see your quirk, to which you paused time, moved to stand next to the professor, and started time.
“Wow, teleportation!” The professor complimented.
Although you were about to correct him, he gave you a number and called the next person up, not allowing you to speak.
Regardless of how many times you tried to correct someone about your quirk, they constantly interrupted you and didn’t listen. Eventually, you gave up, deciding that deception may be the best choice for you.
From there, and into your graduation, you were known as Teleportation Hero: Telethon.
~~ Present Time - Age 20
When you awoke from a deep sleep on your first day off in two weeks, you were greeted by cool air and birds singing on a bright Sunday morning. You yawned, stretched your limbs, and relished in the warm sunshine coming through your windows that juxtaposed the wind passing by your exposed leg.
Today, you had plans. Relaxation plans specifically. A Swedish massage and celebrity-scale facial were waiting to meet you at your 2 pm appointment today, giving you ample time to eat and get ready. You had been anticipating this appointment for the past month, allowing the excitement to push you through the tough and tireless month you had faced.
What made this appointment all the more worth it was the effort you put into yesterday’s mission. An earthquake villain appeared in the city and sent down multiple buildings in their wake. The entire situation was incredibly tiring, from the hours spent stopping time and carrying people out of buildings to the paperwork you filled out till midnight yesterday.
You turned onto your side and grabbed your phone off the side table.
You had a few push notifications from various apps as well as a couple texts from your friend, Kaoruko Awata, regarding the dinner plans you both had and your boss Edgeshot, wishing you a good day off. You smiled at the text and responded before putting your phone away. You would love to spend time responding to fans, but you wanted to use less time on your phone today, choosing to focus more on life and nature.
Eventually, you made your way out of bed and got dressed in some exercise clothes. Your stomach was growling at this point, and you were really craving some waffles and a cup of coffee.
Once done cooking, you turned on the television and reached across your coffee table to grab your coffee and felt your muscles ache, reminding you once again of the day previous.
You got the call seconds after the earthquake, and you immediately rushed over.
Multiple buildings were crumbling down, some were ablaze in wild, red and yellow fires. Heroes were scattered across the scene, all rushing around to help the hundreds of civilians harmed. Some flew through the sky, others working to stop the fires. You didn’t spend much time taking in the scene, opting to begin the rescue mission; you of all people knew the importance of time.
The world thought you could effortlessly transport people from location to location. Opposingly, the process of saving people was rather tedious. You knew the importance of this mission, and you spent as much time as you could in the gray and frozen world you effortlessly created, but you still had to hold your title as Teleportation Hero. At this point, if the world found out you were lying about your quirk, they wouldn’t be able to trust you.
Oh, the hole you had dug yourself was deep and there was no one to help you out of it.
Around 12 pm, you finished your food, turned off the television and pulled out the book you were currently reading. With your busy schedule, you had very little time to read, but your New Year's Resolution was to read more, and this was one of the few days you could stick to that goal.
Regardless of the interesting story, you found yourself drifting back to yesterday’s events.
You had arrived so quickly to the scene that you had no communication earpieces set up and ended up stopping a healing hero to hear about the ongoing battle.
“You okay?” The healing hero asked first and foremost, ignoring your question.
“Just quirk overuse,” You breathlessly replied. “How is everything going?” You asked again.
“Good, but it’s a slow process,” They replied. The healing hero grabbed a few serums off their belt and mixed them together in a small bottle. “The villain isn’t caught yet, but apparently they are narrowing in on him. He’s on the run right now.”
You nodded in response, silently praying that they catch him to ensure that no one else was hurt.
“Here, drink this. It’ll give you a burst of energy,” The healing hero said while holding out a vile of blue liquid.
“Thanks,” You replied and immediately downed the shot. It burned down your throat and you felt the energy immediately rush through. It was definitely increasing your adrenaline. You handed the healing hero the bottle back and stopped time to rush into a new building.
When you realized you had been daydreaming instead of focusing on the story, you silently scolded yourself and grabbed a cup of water to clear your head. You saw the clock read 1 pm, and you decided to get ready now instead of being perpetually late like usual.
You fondly reminded yourself how lucky you were to have a time manipulation quirk that helped counteract your horrible habit of being late.
~~
You ended up finishing the entire process of your massage and facial appointment around 5 pm, giving you less than two hours before your dinner date with Awata. The plan was for her to come over around 6:30, with food in hand, she had just texted you 5 restaurant options for you to judge. You lazed around your house as you looked up each restaurant’s menu and selected your top 2.
From your two, Awata ended up choosing the pizza place and told you that she would call to order right away. About 20 minutes later, you got a text from Awata letting you know that she was on her way.
You replied and went into the kitchen to grab out plates for the pizza. You downed the rest of the water you had been sipping periodically and walked across your small studio apartment to change into a more appropriate outfit than the one you had worn to your appointment.
Once in a comfortable yet surprisingly cute outfit, you moved back into your living room to wait for your friend. It was so uncommon that you got a whole day off without any training or any extra errands to run for work and you were going to utilize every second of rest. You laid down on your couch and quickly got lost in your thoughts.
Your mind wandered to Awata, reflecting on your great friendship with her. Although she was incredibly quiet and soft-spoken, she had the true heart of a hero and craved helping people. Not only that, but she had slowly been getting funnier and funnier due to her job at Sir Nighteye’s office.
You still remembered the smile on her face when she told you that she got the job with a silly joke.
Around 6:30, Awata texted you to buzz her up, and by the time she got upstairs, you had moved the plates and two full cups of water to the coffee table. You got up from your couch at the sound of a knock at your door.
“Hey, Ms. Hero Allstar,” Awata said as she waltzed into your condo with two personal-sized pizzas. “So, what’s it like?”
“What’s what like?” You mumbled, more focused on the steaming pizza that was being handed to you. You both were already drooling at the prospect of gooey cheese and carbs.
“Being so famous!” Your friend yelled as she took on her shoes before plopping down on your love seat.
You scoffed at her comment and rolled your eyes before opening up your pizza, “I’m not even in the top 2,000 heroes.” You grabbed a slice and moved it onto your plate.
“Not after today,” Awata replied, as she joined you in opening up her own pizza.
You looked up at your friend with a confused face, not able to reply because your mouth was filled with pizza.
“Wait, do you really not know?” Awata asked. She reached over and grabbed your television remote, switching it onto a local news station.
The image of two anchors came onto the screen. The view of them quickly switched away to a video of the wreckage from today. “They saved a total of 137 civilians in the span of only two hours. Additionally, no additional damage was caused in the process. This success skyrocketed Telethon to top charts online.”
The screen cut to a scene of you using your quirk to grab multiple people in only a few seconds. You gawked and looked over to your friend.
“It was truly impressive, but what can you expect from a member of Edgeshot’s agency” The female anchor spoke as the screen cut back to them.
“It is,” The male agreed. “In fact, we have some quotes from yesterday about the situation.”
The healing hero from before popped onto screen. “I worked with Telethon for only a moment today, giving them one of my serums to help give them the energy needed to save people. I feel honored I got to be a part of this record-breaking defeat.”
The screen cut to a young boy, possibly 12 years old.
“Telethon was so cool yesterday!” Their face was bright and it warmed your heart to see their support. “Not only were they fast, but they were fast for hours! That’s endurance! Most speed heroes don’t have that, they might even be faster than Hawks!”
The screen cut back to the chuckling anchors and you looked over to your friend as they talked about the multiple videos circling the internet that almost all had millions of views.
“Holy shit.”
Awata nodded excitedly. “I know.” Although quiet, she could get just as excited as you during great events. She was smiling wider than you were right now.
If you were in your right mind, you might have noticed the correlation between the speed comment, Hawks, and your soulmate mark. However, you were too excited about this new fame to even think about it.
The rest of your night was spent celebrating with Awata, both of you having a few drinks and stuffing your faces with indulgent American-style barbecue.
~~
As weeks passed, the fame for you continued to rise. Your rating approval shot through the roof and you were being stopped more often to give autographs and take photos.
Not only had your fame been rising, but so had the idea of you being faster than Hawks. Although you admired Hawks, you kept away from the drama, opting to focus more on improving your skills to meet the new expectations you were being given.
~~
After about a month of this challenge circulating, Hawks couldn’t help but make a comment. He was so much more popular and powerful than this wannabe, and no one was going to stop him from being the fastest hero. He was being bombarded daily for a comment about the speculation of someone being faster than him. Not only did he hate the attention, but he hated how the doubt of his strengths got to him.
One day, when paparazzi were surrounding him and pestering him about the challenge, he snapped and shouted into the camera.
“There is no way Telethon is faster than me and I will prove it! This is my official challenge for them to come out of hiding and actually race me!” He looked straight into the camera and spoke eerily calm, “I am too fast for my own good.”
~~
You still remembered the fear you felt when you watched the clip on the internet only a few hours after it went viral.
You will admit that you made a connection between your soulmate mark and Hawks’ words at the time, but you brushed them off. Too often were you disappointed after talking to a cute boy that you had been admiring.
It’s not like you could focus on relationships as a hero anyways.
~~
The next day, your manager told you that he contacted Hawks’ manager and arranged an obstacle race for that Friday.
“It will be great PR,” They claimed, “Even if you don’t win!”
You reluctantly agreed, not like you had much of a choice, and awaited the email that would contain everything you needed to know from the time and date to the price of tickets.
The prospect made you incredibly afraid. To you, the debating of who was faster was more fun than anything. The idea of having to prove yourself was driving you crazy.
What if you couldn’t hold your breath long enough? What if Hawks was so fast that he beat you before you could even stop time?
You sighed and leaned farther back into your soft couch, wishing that the cushions would swallow you up. Maybe this was all a dream and a nice nap would wake you up?
You bit your lip and read through the email, your thoughts drifting off periodically.
~~
Over the next couple days, you worked privately at expanding your air capacity. Your manager wasn’t allowed to tell you anything about the course, so you had to work hard to perfect your breathing and your speed.
You laid down on the floor of the gym, no one was there because of how late it was.
Your mind got lost in the thought of how you could technically even win a speed race. Sure you would have to run through everything, but to everyone else, it would just look like you were flashing from one place to the next.
A few years back, you met someone else with a teleportation quirk. They described it as flashing place to place, although they were restricted to only moving about 15 meters. You always thought of your quirk as a time stopping quirk rather than teleportation, but it did help you in battles that people just thought it was teleportation.
Grunting, you got up from your spot on the ground and got back on the treadmill. You stopped time and continued to run for as long as you could, dreading the competition tomorrow.
~~
You woke up to your alarm, the sky was gray and a chilly air flooded through your room, making you cling to your blankets. You heard the sound of rain outside and groaned. You checked your phone, but were too tired to respond to any texts you had received that day.
You got out of bed, your muscles aching and started preparing an ice bath. You hated ice baths more than anything else in the world, but they still dramatically helped your aching muscles. As you stepped into the freezing cold water, you tried your best not to focus on how much it hurt to sit in an ice bath.
After only a couple minutes, you practically jumped out of the water, deciding that you had been in their long enough. You wrapped your body in a towel and started drying off as you made your way to your room.
You threw on a sweater and sweatpants to keep you warm and started stretching your muscles. From there, you grabbed yourself a freshly brewed cup of coffee and began applying the makeup involved in your hero costume. You made sure to apply a thick foundation and powder to make sure you didn’t appear too greasy in the photos.
You grabbed a snack once done with your makeup and grabbed your bag with any necessities or costume things you would need. Your manager told you to change there so you simply packed everything you would need.
After double checking that you had everything necessary for the day and competition, you stopped time and casually made your way to the stadium, watching the still rain water in your own gray world.
Luckily, the place wasn’t too far away from your house and you were able to make it there by only needing to start time again a couple of times and take a breath. When you arrived, you were whisked away by your manager who had you immediately get dressed. You then had a couple people fix up your makeup and style your hair.
As this was done, your manager informed you that you would be starting the day with an interview, yours being right after Hawks’. He told you a couple questions they were going to ask and steered you to answer in certain ways.
“We don’t want to give too much away, just make it interesting and fun,” You manager said as the hair and makeup team finished up and left quickly.
You looked at yourself in the mirror and admired the way everything came together before your manager ushered you to the calling curtain. On the other side, you could clearly hear the interview going on between the woman and Hawks.
“So, Hawks, how are you feeling about this whole situation?” The interviewer asked. “You seemed quite angry at all the attention Telethon was getting.”
From your position, there was also a small television that pointed directly at them. You saw the expression of the interviewing as she asked Hawks the question. Her voice was practically dripping with sensuality as she tried to keep Hawks’ attention.
The camera cut to Hawks who was casually sitting back as if he didn’t have a care in the world. “Honestly, I wasn’t. I was upset that I was getting attention. I don’t like when paparazzi follow me everywhere.” He looked from the audience to the interviewer and smirked. “I’m happy that Telethon is getting attention, they deserve it. Granted, I wholeheartedly doubt their faster than me.”
“Oh, really?” The lady inquired. You could tell she was reaching for strings to create drama. She leaned forward and you noted how her skirt inched up just slightly
“Well, I am too fast for my own good,” Hawks replied, grinning and waving his hands to prove his point.. “I’m happy that Telethon is gaining attention, they are a great hero. However, no one will ever be faster than me.”
“Well, Hawks, I’ll be looking for you at the finish line then,” The lady smirked at the blond hero.
You groaned at the obvious bias the interviewer had.
“Anyways,” She started, “That’s all the time we have for Hawks. We are going to take a short break and be back with Teleportation Hero: Telethon!”
The audience clapped and Hawks waved goodbye to the crowd before making his way towards the back. In fact, he was making his way towards you. You gulped down the lump in your throat as your manager began making a few more notes in your ear about what to say in the interview.
You looked down as Hawks approached you, too nervous to look up at him. Not only was he the current number two hero, but he was also your maybe soulmate. You hated to dwell on love like so many people nowadays, but the idea that the Takami Keigo could be the love of your life could make anyone nervous.
He smirked at you as a sound person came up and started taking his mic off of him and putting it onto you.
Your sense of smell was suddenly crowded with a deep musk, that smelled of woodlands and cherries. The smell was airy and delightful and you noted that it had to have been coming from Hawks.
Finally seeing the number two hero up close made you painfully aware of how handsome he was.
His dirty blonde hair naturally swept back because of how much time he spent flying. His golden skin practically glowed as he smirked down at you, making you all the more self conscious.
Most of all, you couldn’t take your eyes off his wings. You were sure your face was mirroring their crimson color based on how hot you suddenly felt. They looked so soft and beautiful and you felt a strong pull to touch them as if someone was whispering in your ear.
As you felt the mic being clipped onto your hero uniform, you attempted to bring yourself back into reality. You swallowed your nerves and looked up at the smirking hero in front of you. You could tell he was amused at how obviously starstruck you were. Even with his mic off, he seemed to linger for a few moments to watch you, his eyes trailing up and down your body.
It made you all the more nervous.
You watched as his mouth opened, as if he was about to speak. However, you were quickly pushed by your manager as they ushered you onto stage.
“Wave at the fans!” They said as you were pushed through the red curtain.
You focused back on the crowd as the flashing lights filled your vision. You tried your best not to squint and wave at the people around you. You were making your way to the chair and the interviewer that was awaiting you, when you suddenly felt a bit overwhelmed. You took a few deep breaths and tried to calm yourself.
You gingerly sat down in the seat and smiled brightly at the woman in front of you.
After the applause died down, the interviewer became speaking. “Welcome, Telethon, we are happy to see you today.”
“Oh, the pleasure is all mine,” You replied. Although annoyed, you could still be nice and spread positivity for your young fans. “As a fairly new hero and not very high ranked hero, it is incredibly surreal to be gaining so much attention and thanks for my work. I keep reminding myself to try my best for all the new fans I’ve gained.”
The audience erupted into applause and you could tell the lady was a bit annoyed that you were coming off as so nice and humble. You brushed off her attitude, knowing that you were being true to yourself.
Regardless of how you acted in your own life, you were a hero nonetheless and wanted to be a good role model for aspiring heroes.
“Yes, yes, I’m sure you’re loving the attention,” The lady, who you still didn’t know the name of, said. “However, do you really think you are faster than the number 2 hero?”
You smiled politely at the woman in front of you, even though you were silently wishing she would be hit by a train. “Actually, I’m here for the challenge. Regardless of whether or not I win, I am always looking for a challenge to better myself and gain new experiences.”
“Oh, so you are just doing this to get close to top heroes like Hawks?” The women interjected, stopping you from further explaining yourself.
“No,” You sternly replied. “Like I said, I personally want new experiences and to keep reaching for ways to become a better hero. For example, I’ve been training for the past two days to prepare, and I know my speed has increased, and I’ll be proud of that even if I don't end up winning.”
The interviewer was practically pouting from your ability to easily recover from her questions meant to stump you. From there, the interviewer asked you a few easier questions, such as one about your employment at Edgeshot’s company.
Eventually, she prompted you to say goodbye to the audience and you politely waved and she asked people to tune in at 4 pm today for the competition.
You waved goodbye as you walked off stage and were immediately meeted by the sound person and your manager.
“That was great,” They cheekily grinned at you, knowing full well how annoyed you were with the rude lady.
“Thanks,” You replied, glad your manager was able to understand you so well. “You mind if I take a breather?”
“Not at all, just be back in half an hour,” He replied, “Your bags are in the green room.”
“Thanks,” You mumbled as you made your way around the building to find the green room. Everyone was rapidly walking around and the whole building was incredibly busy. You groaned and stopped time, using this as a chance to search around a quiet area and find the room.
Not only were you pissed that the interviewer was treating you like a child, but you were ridiculously nervous for the competition. You knew it was supposed to be a casual competition, but Hawks made it seem serious for him. He was the number two hero for god’s sake! If he lost to you, it could ruin his career.
Not only was the moral dilemma of letting Hawks win vs. trying your hardest bothering you, but so was Hawks. In the brief minute you were around him, your body filled with uncertainty and you felt intoxicated on his smell and appearance. Maybe it was you getting caught up in the idea that he may be your soulmate, or maybe it was your body telling you he was.
Regardless of your nerves, you were currently most caught up in anger for the interviewer. You entered the green room, and stared straight at the glorious display of food. You didn’t bother to look around the room as you started time again and groan in frustration.
“So you are just doing this to get close to top heroes,” You mumbled, changing your voice to match how annoying it sounded coming from the interviewer’s mouth. “Like I need it, I’m Edgeshot’s top employee and she would have known that if she did any research before the interview.”
You groaned loudly again and turned to face the couch. No one could explain how flustered you felt when you saw Hawks sitting on the couch, eating a plate of fried chicken. When you met his eyes, you felt his golden eyes bore into his soul.
He adjusted to be sitting up straight and moved to place the plate next to him. He cleared his throat and took a sip of water. You watched him the entire time, too embarrassed to speak.
“So,” He finally began, “apparently you’re faster than me?”

ap psychology
anonymous asked: Can I request readers putting all her studying off till the week before AP exams and she starts studying an unhealthy amount, like sometimes forgetting to eat all day because of it and even made herself sick from stress over it but reader refuses to complain because she did it to herself and Lydia's just there helping her review and making sure she takes time to care for herself ect? Bonus if Reader thinks she did bad and Lydia assuring her she did fine and has an 'i told you don't moment?
anonymous asked: Totally didn't request that bc that's my situation-
for some reason when i tried to queue this w/ the original ask, tumblr wanted to put the cut in the ask and i couldn’t delete it
this is out of date now, but i was uninspired to write for a hella long time sorry. also! i’m going to draw from my experiences w/ ap this year, and the only ap exam i had to take was psych, so that’s also going to be the case for reader :)
also, i feel like my lydia is a bit out of character? idk it’ll probably take a while to get back to the way i used to write her.
1303 words
cw: femreader. food
you cursed under your breath. months ago, months! you told yourself you would start studying for your ap exam. you only had the one exam to study for, so you told yourself that if you just did a little bit everyday, you would be fine.
but here you were, about three days until your ap psychology exam, and you hadn’t studied any of it. you had hardly even watched the videos your teacher had posted as the digital learning content. but to be fair, the stuff he was talking about in them were the last unit or two of psych, and you wouldn’t have to worry about them, because you weren’t going to be tested on them.
you groaned and dragged your feet downstairs, to where you hid your backpack. the friday weeks ago, when your school told everyone that classes would go digital for a few weeks because of the coronavirus, your teacher had come prepared. he gave everyone that showed up to class, which, granted, wasn’t that many but still- a huge packet covering everything that you had studied this year. it was some forty pages long.
okay, it was, like, thirty five because you crossed out the pages about personality and disorders. which was a shame, because those are the units that everyone takes psychology to learn about. no one goes, “oh boy, i can’t wait to learn about how to test if a baby has depth perception!” or “i can’t wait to learn about all the different types of visual illusions!” but whatever.
you flipped to page thirty five, to see how many questions you were in for. just over 250, except that’s counting all the charts as individual questions. yeah, that makes sense. one and a half pages of listing what researchers discovered what is equivalent to answering which cortex of the brain processes visual stimuli.
wait a minute. lydia was also taking psych. studying sucks, but if you could do it with your girlfriend, that’d be so much less painful.
you texted her, “hey lyds, have u finished the psych packet yet?”
”yea i finished it yesterday, why?” she texted back almost immediately.
shit. looks like you’ll have to suffer through this alone. “nvm”
you looked at the time, 1:46. damn, already? it felt like you had only just woken up. you made yourself a coffee, and set up shop on the desk you have never used in your bedroom, with laptop open beside you. you planned on googling everything, rather than going through your notes, mostly because you forgot where you put them, but this would still take ages.
an hour passed, and you felt like you were dying on the inside. if you had to answer one more question about behavioral psych, you were going to scream. behavioral psych is by far the worst part of psychology! watson and skinner be damned! people are people not some computer code! people have feelings! you can’t just ignore them! and the feeling you were feeling right now was not a good one!
you wanted to stop, but you weren’t sure if you stopped now if you’d be able to finish the packet. so you kept on going.
you went another five hours, taking five minute tik tok breaks every hour to keep you sane. you looked at the clock, and realized you hadn’t eaten anything today. you grabbed a box of cheez-its and made your way back upstairs, and went back to work. this time, you ate a cheez-it every time you finished a question, or you filled out a row in a chart.
you didn’t know when you fell asleep, but you woke up in the morning with about half the packet filled out. considering the exam was in one day, and four-ish hours, you thought that was good.
as you made your morning coffee, you checked the messages lydia had sent you. “are you doing okay? normally we talk a lot but…” “wait, are you working on the study guide?” “y/n! please take breaks! remember! you need food!” “and water!”
you sent back, “if i eat my cheez-its, and i drink my coffee while i study, then i don’t have to take breaks.”
you went back to your desk, and plugged your phone in across the room so you wouldn’t be distracted. but also because you forgot to charge it before you passed out, so it was at three percent, because apparently you had kept it open to tik tok all night, and the video just kept looping. oops.
for a while, the studying seemed easier. you felt like you had less to do, and you didn’t need to worry about getting it done in time, because you had more than enough of it. but because you didn’t need to rush, you became more productive.
you finished the second half of the packet by six that evening. you do admit, you got a bit lazy in the last few pages, but it was done!
shit. studying isn’t just writing stuff down, you have to read it over, right? you don’t really study that much.
but you decided to take an hour or two’s break for… breakfast? dinner? maybe even lunch? whatever, leftover pizza, because you had just only now just realized the intense rumbling in your stomach.
you checked your phone for the first time in hours. you were actually kind of proud of yourself. you usually were on your phone every waking hour, which was probably a problem, but you had shown enormous restraint… by spending every waking hour staring at your laptop. it’s all about choosing your battles.
you quickly dismissed some twitter notifications before tapping on a new message from lydia. “babe, i’m getting really worried about you, please call me when you see this.” you furrowed your brows. worried? about you? why?
you called lydia, and she picked up nearly immediately.
”y/n!” she gasped with relief, “don’t do that to me again!”
you felt stupid for wondering what she was talking about, but you kind of needed to know, “what do you mean?”
”you’ve been offline for hours, and i couldn’t get to you! and then when i heard what you were eating, that got me worried. have you eaten today?”
”three slices of pizza right now.” you swallowed a bite.
”is that your first meal today?”
”unless you count coffee, yeah. i’ll do better tomorrow, i promise. speaking of tomorrow, we’ve got the psych exam, and i need to keep studying. i’ll call after the exam, so like three?”
”y/n.”
”yeah?”
”you do realize this exam is online, right? and at home?”
”uh, yeah.” you swallowed.
”and you have both a laptop and a phone?”
”lydia, what are you saying?” cheating. she was definitely talking about cheating.
”i’m saying, that you don’t really need to know the definitions, because our dear old pal google can be there to help you out with those. and you’re smart, so i assume you know the concepts.”
”you think very highly, of me, my dear.” you took another bite of pizza. “so, what you’re saying is, i wasted two days studying?”
”yes, that is exactly what i’m saying.”
”shit. wait, why were you studying?”
”ugh, because i am nowhere near as good as you at being able to understand things.”
”you know, definitions explain the concept too.”
”what are you saying?” asked lydia.
”i think we’ve both wasted a lot of time studying when we didn’t need to.”
”fuck.” lydia breathed.
”yeah, we’re both idiots. do you wanna watch something on netflix? you haven’t finished parks and rec yet, right?”
”no, i just finished an episode before you called me.”
”which one?”
”season four, episode seven.”
”wait, is the next episode smallest park? we need to watch that, like, now.”

Lattice Stemly’s Story 5/5
Chapter 5: Home
You feel something on your shoulder gently shaking you and you wake up. You see Klaymen standing next to you, smiling.
“Good morning, seedling!” he says quietly. He kisses your brow and helps you stand up. “Did you have a good sleep?” You shrug and hug the blanket a little more. He hugs you and pats your head. “I guess the blanket helped out a bit, huh Lattice?” Lattice? Why did he call you Lattice? You look at him confused and his expression changes to shock.
“Oops!” He lets go of you and covers his mouth. “Sorry La- er... s-seedling! I was talking with Hoborg earlier and called you that while we were discussing names. I should've waited until you're better at talking.”
Names? He did talk about it when you first emerged, but you didn't think about it once in the time you've been alive. Lattice... that's a nice name, but you don't want Klaymen to bad about naming you. Maybe you can add another part to it? Yeah! You can have a second name like Willie Trombone! You sound out “Lattice” over and over, all while thinking of a second part to your name. You look at your stems (which are still there, thank goodness!) and figure you can come up with something temporary. It's a second name, it's not as important as the main one. You start sounding out your new name.
“Lat...t...tice.........Stem.........ly.” you say. Klaymen looks at you confused.
“You want your name to be 'Stemly'?” he asks. You shake your head and try again.
“L-Lattice.....Stemly.” you say again. You're surprised that you said it as well as you did. Klaymen's eyes widen as he begins to understand.
“You want your name to be 'Lattice Stemly'?” he asks again. You nod. You feel confidant about talking now, so you decide to introduce yourself.
“M......my..........n-n-name.........is.........La...Lattice...Stemly.” you say, then start laughing in surprise. Klaymen gasps, then starts smiling the biggest smile you've ever seen. He then gives you a hug so strong that he lifts you off your legs and swings you back and forth; you're both laughing uncontrollably.
“Your first sentence!” he cheers, his voice is quivering as if he's about to cry. He sets you back on the ground. “Oh, Lattice! I'm so proud of you! This is wonderful!” Klaymen starts weeping and laughing at the same time and you help wipe away his tears with your blanket. You kind of feel like crying too, even though you're incredibly happy. You're actually talking! Okay, it's just a sentence, but it's a start!
You see Willie and Hoborg enter the room as Klaymen stops crying.
“Good morning, you two!” Hoborg greets with a chuckle. “And how are you today?”
“Amazingly!” Klaymen exclaimed. He pats your shoulder. “You want to show him?” You nod and turn to Hoborg.
“M-my naaame... is... Lattice Stemly!” Hoborg claps and gives you a hug, and Willie hoots and hollars in excitement, jumping up and down and almost dropping a basket that he's carrying.
“Well done, little one!” Hoborg laughs and pats your head.
“GIRLIE TALKIE!” Willie yells. Hoborg lets go of you and Willie rushes over to hug you as well. “Me knew you could do it!” His excitement almost crushes you and you struggle to breath. Hoborg tells Willie to loosen his grip on you and he lets go with a chuckle. “Sorry!” Once you can breath again, you smile and nod to him.
“What've you got there, Willie?” Klaymen asks, pointing to the basket.
“Ooo! Me found nifty flowers!” he answered, bringing the basket to his other hand. “Willie think girlie like them.” He holds the basket out to you and you hop a little, clapping your hands. A present! Or at least a new thing, and Willie thinks you'll like it. You open the lid of the basket, and what you see inside fills you with so much dread that you feel cold.
You jump back and almost hit Klaymen; the lid falls and closes the basket. It can't be!? They're REAL!? Those horrific, disfigured and disgusting mangled faces are real! Willie looks at you in confusion and takes one of them out.
“It nifty flower, right?” he says, holding the thing closer to you. You back up as much as you can to the wall behind you. Willie moves closer with the mangled face and you drop to the floor shaking. You pull the blanket over your head and scream, you CAN'T let that thing near you again!
You don't really know what happened after that. You know that you're still screaming and crying and shaking uncontrollably, but that's about it. You don't know how long you're like this, it's hard to tell under the blanket. You do eventually stop, but you feel exhausted. Your throat is sore, your eyes are burning, your head is spinning, and your face is a combination of wet and tight because of your tears.
Klaymen carefully pulls back the part of your blanket that's on your head and pets your face. You're in Hoborg's arms this time, and Willie no longer has the basket of mangled faces; he's holding out a glass of water to you instead. Hoborg takes the glass from Willie and thanks him before bringing it closer to you.
“Here, little one. Drink. It'll help your throat a little.” You're still a bit shaky, but you manage to take the glass of water and sip from it. Your throat gets soothed and you manage to take some deep and slow breaths to calm down. Klaymen turns to Willie.
“I know you meant well, Willie,” he starts, “but I don't think bringing in something as weird as a basket of roses was the best idea.”
“Yeah, me see.” Willie said, quietly and sadly. You finish your water and he holds his hands out to take the glass back. “Sorry, Lattice. Me no mean scare you.” This is the first time you've seen Willie this sad. It's the first time you've seen anyone this sad, but you didn't expect the loud and excited Willie Trombone to be as quiet as Klaymen. You start to cry again, you don't mean to scare everyone because you're scared.
“I'm...sor...sorry.” you say, whimpering. Willie and Klaymen look with sadness and confusion.
“What for?” Klaymen asks, patting your head. “You can't always help what you're scared of.”
“Yeah, you no do anything wrong.” Willie coos. Hoborg holds you close and pets your shoulders.
“You're going to be okay, Lattice.” Hoborg says, his deep voice helping to calm your thoughts.
You close your eyes and rest your head on Hoborg's chest; his heartbeat is louder than Klaymen's! Granted, from everything you heard yesterday, it's not too surprising. There is a long moment of silence, and you continue to concentrate on Hoborg's heartbeat and your breathing. Again, you don't know how long you've been like this, but apparently long enough for others to think that you've fallen asleep. You hear Klaymen shuffle a little.
“Maybe we should wait a little before showing her the rest of the Neverhood.” he whispers. You don't know who he's talking to, but before you can stop yourself...
“N-no!” you blurt out, opening your eyes. You surprise everyone and you try to continue. “I......I w-w........wa.....n...t......to......s-see.......the...the......N-N-Nev..........Never.....hood!” There is another moment of silence.
“Shall we go and see it, then?” Hoborg asks. You look to him and nod and he lets you go. You both stand up with Klaymen and Willie's help.
“You sure you're ready? Are you going to be okay?” Klaymen asks. You then look to him and nod, taking the blanket off from your shoulders and hold it out to him. He gently pushes the blanket back to you. “It's yours now, Lattice. You don't need to give it back to me.” Klaymen smiles to you and you can't help but smile back.
You all then hear a strange sound; a weird moaning 'maaaauuuwwww!' being repeated over and over. Klaymen's expression changes to surprise and he goes to the doorway.
“Purpee!?” There is another 'maaaauuuwwww!'. Willie's eyes widen.
“Whoops! Me forgot to lock your door.” he says. Klaymen turns to Willie.
“You went to my house for water?” he asks. Willie nods. “Why didn't you go for the fountain?” Willie goes cross-eyed as he tries to think of his reasoning, all while Purpee continues moaning.
“Why don't you two go ahead and meet up with Purpee?” Hoborg asks. “We'll be right behind you.” Willie and Klaymen nod before leaving the room. You hear Purpee's moaning turn into happy squeaking and Klaymen and Willie laughing. You start making your way to the doorway and trip on your blanket. Thankfully, Hoborg catches you before you fall flat on your face.
“Careful, dear!” He helps you steady yourself before trying to move again. You almost trip on the blanket again and decide to ball it up. Hoborg rubs his 'chin'. “I have an idea.” he says. “May I see your blanket please, Lattice?” He holds his hands out to you, and you hesitate before giving him your balled-up blanket. “Thank you, dear.”
Hoborg then opens the blanket back to what it was, takes one end and drapes it over your left shoulder. He then drapes the rest of your blanket over your right shoulder, then wraps it around your waist before tucking it behind your back.
“There! That's better!” he coos. “This way you'll have your blanket and not trip on it.” You look down at yourself wearing your blanket now and smile. This is a very nice look! Hoborg chuckles and holds out his arm for you. “Shall we?” You look at him and nod, taking his arm, and you both leave the pink room.
You arrive at the top of a staircase in a light blue room, and you see Willie and Klaymen playing with a small, round animal with a long tail and pointed ears. You and Hoborg walk down the stairs to the guys and the small animal coos when it sees you arrive on the bottom. Klaymen is giggling and petting the animal.
“That's Lattice, Purpee.” he says. “You want to say hi to her?” Purpee walks over to you and sniffs at your leggings and blanket. She then proceeds to flop onto your legs. The room laughs. “She likes you.” Klaymen giggles. He goes over and picks her up, cradling her in his arms.
“You ready see Neverhood?” Willie asks. You nod and look to Hoborg. He lets go of your arm and pats your back.
“Go ahead.” he says gently. “It's just beyond that door.” He points ahead and you can see more bright colours. You walk past the guys and through the door, and immediately you're filled with overwhelming happiness.
This world is so much more colourful than you realize! The ground is two different bright greens swirled into each other, the canyon walls a warm browny-orange, colourful buildings either moulded into the canyons or built away from them! Then there's the people; not as colourful-looking as the buildings from what you can see, but every one of them exuding an infectious sense of joy and excitement for just simply existing! And this is only a small part of this world!
This is the Neverhood! It's a paradise! It's perfect! You fall to your knees and begin to weep. This place is so beautiful that you couldn't help it. Soon you see Purpee try to get onto your lap and you hear someone run up to you. You see Klaymen get down on one knee next to you and feel his hand on your back as you let Purpee on your lap.
“Are you okay?” he asks, voice filled with concern. You start giggling and pick up Purpee to hug; Purpee purrs on your shoulder. You face Klaymen with a huge smile on your face and say the two words you've wanted to say since you were a life seed.
“I'm home!”
