Eastern white pine, remnant as border marker for late 1800 logging claim as seen from grays arch. The tree is one of the largest white pines left in red river gorge. It is noticable from 2 miles away with an un earthly sprawl and height for any white pine in the area. Its not uncommon to leave single plot trees as both mother and marker trees. An example of this in another place in v B.C. CA. Is "big lonley doug" a massive douglass fir tree.

Had the opportunity of getting a science book (Ethnobotany in the new Europe) for like 90% discount. I’ve not heard of it before, but was enticed by the bargain.

So currently I’m reading about a forensic anthropologist approach to, like, folk medicine through the ages. I had no idea forensic anthropology was so much fun!

I’d just like to point out to everyone how ingenious the use of the temporary death/zombie poison is in the apothecary diaries. I only knew about it before from a SUPER niche class where we read a book about it that maybe has 200 readers total. I was shell shocked to hear it brought up again especially in such a popular media. My jaw literally hit the floor. (Yes it was a real thing in Vodou culture that helped people escape crime sentences or get away from lives they didn’t want anymore). Especially with how accurate the information was that was used considering what little is actually known about it. Also, as a dual major in forensics and botany (the show is literally my dream) the way that Natsu Hyūga did ALL the research about plant poisons of all degrees really itches my brain right. ESPECIALLY in a world where the only poisons we see in literature are Monkshood/Wolfsbane, (deadly) Nightshade, and like Hemlock. Maybe the odd Foxglove or Lily of the Valley is thrown in there occasionally if the author wants to be quirky and “informed”. Some people don’t realize how much thorough research goes into each part of the Apothecary part of Apothecary diaries so enjoy my little rant on it. And if you’re interested in the Botanical side of the show I totally recommend picking up a book guide on plants in your country/state!

Rosemary Sidorova - Typist from the Capital, dropped out of medical school to take care of her child, invited to live in the Town via the Kaine family to teach at the school. Has a child with Andrey Stamatin who doesn't remember having the child.

Vanya Sidorov - Rosemary's older brother, was in the frontlines of the war but was discharged due to a severe facial injury from a bayonet fight. Moves with Rosemary to the town to better manage his shellshock. Meets Lin while recovering from his injury.

Zhaohui Lin - Chinese born medical student who volunteered as a field medic. Very cheerful, hard working, upbeat! (not much on him yet)

Aleksia Dankovskya - Daniil's twin sister, were born conjoined by the shoulder blade/shoulder. She and her brother are the type of twins are the exact same person. She has a doctorate in forensic medicine and an office in the same building Daniil is in. The two have the same hobbies, habits, coping, recreational choices and fashion. Most of the modern vampires of today love to think of their ancient vampire predecessors as straight lace, rigid in their old ways and for some of them? That is indeed the absolute case. There were a lot of them that continued to be rigid in their ways.

Yet they often forget the ones many don’t speak about. Not openly, at least. They don’t talk about the vampires that are gay men or the female vampires lusting after other women from afar. Gripping the windowsill so tightly, they almost break it with their bare hands.

Those are the types of vampires you won’t hear about because of the same stigma is applied to them as well. If not doubly so because of the perpetual judgement of the previous generations of vampires. Much like the human equivalent. The only difference is that they still continue to keep that mindset forever.

They don’t talk about the cross-dressing women dressed as men who slaughter them for the money inside their pockets. Only to display their rotting corpses in front of their family’s home with the word ‘Adulterer’ written into their flesh with their long claws.

The orgies of loud noises in the night in the vacation homes of yonder years. Of a time when cars didn’t even exist. Where you went everywhere in horse and carriage or by horseback. And a woman of your wealthy standing in old England? You were required to have a man servant with you at all times.

Your studies into Forensics Anthropology, Forensic Botany, Forensic Entomology, Forensic Odontology, Forensic Toxicology, Forensic Toxicogenomics. Throughout your life from 1450s England to now, you've seen it all. The way the flesh rots, the way the bugs feast, the secrets teeth keep, the poisons that seep through the blood.

It fuelled all of your life’s art pieces and you still don't know how people like it enough to buy them. They were a mixture of cosmic horror and existential horror, tied in with eroticism of erotic horror, vivid nightmarish body horror, deep void of eternal ephemeral phycological horror, sexually charged and sexually tense.

You were invited as a plus one to an office party in a high-tech company or something along those lines. You weren’t sure how people even dressed anymore. Your friend looked in your closet, your closet was all handmade by you and a sea of an inky void. Lacking in the bright fanciful colours even in your own time period.

You picked out a black glittery bell sleeve dress with a deep V-neckline lined with a deep purple velvet you made in the 70s. “What about this one?” you asked.

“Perfect!” Mason stated clapping his hands together in pure excitement. He still doesn’t know you’re a vampire. You won’t and you refuse to tell him that part of you.

You added a crimson red studded choker to add a little spice to it. You didn’t think this would be enough to get someone’s attention. Let alone a modernised vampire like Max Phillips. Who you didn’t know what to make of still.

You didn't know what to expect from the whole event and anything you heard about it? You took with a grain of salt. You felt like you were about to be out of your depths. In terms of profession and intense sexually charged lifestyle.

Not mention your knowledge wasn’t in technology. But of death, art and art history. And the irony of that alone as a vampire of your age is never lost on you. It would never be lost on you on how it seems on someone of your previous stature and noble lifestyle.

Max looked at you at that party and in particular he gazed at your breasts, like a siren’s call and the style reminiscent of the 1970s in style. Max looked at you and knew you were meant to be his and his alone.

Enrico Mahealani: Enrico is a curious, clever, and sophisticated kid, and is a close relative of Danny Mahealani. He moves in with Danny after he decides to move back to Beacon Hills (this is during/after the Teen Wolf Movie). With an obsession for criminology and incredible psychic powers to boot, he excels in criminal investigation and forensic analysis. Despite being an awkward teenager haunted by dead, he strives to use his gifts and skills to become a detective…. even if that means occasionally getting in the way of police work, and dragging Eli Hale into his investigations with or without his permission…. May god rest Sheriff Stilinski’s stressed out soul.

Appearance: Enrico has tanned, moderately brown skin with short, wavy yet slightly spiky black hair. Paired with his dark brown eyes and semi-formal style, he often exudes the look of a private academy student mixed with a scraggly noir detective, even sporting his own overcoat (but no fedora. He’s more of a fisherman’s cap guy anyway)

Personality: Enrico has a sophisticated yet casual way of presenting himself. Sure, he talks like a debate team mixed with a poetry teacher, but he’s not very outspoken and rather quiet at times. However, he is exceptionally blunt and straightforward, oftentimes getting straight to the point when talking.

Other Info: Enrico is the son of one of Danny’s Cousin. Technically first cousin once removed, which I simplify to just “relative”

He’s known about his abilities from a very young age, but doesn’t mention them due to being sent to several doctors and therapists, all trying to diagnose him. In his words, “Concern arises when you tell people you can see the dead”

Enrico was orphaned, moving in with Danny after loosing his father due to disease. He lost his mother years before in a car wreck.

He occasionally enjoys botany, and likes growing scorpion grasses, as well as tomato plants

Out of all the dead people who communicate with him in Beacon Hills, the ones he connects with the most is Erica, Boyd, and occasionally Derek, who he often sees in small flashes watching over Eli. He wishes to know why they’re so important, and why they continue to show up.

It’s so cool, me and the asker have been working on it <333 instead of gifts, they specialize in certain tech and stuff 🗿

Basically Pedro is there. And it’s Antonio’s presentation at the college (he’s still 5, they’re all prodigies and presented at 5, except Mirabel who presented a little later cause she hadn’t decided her science concentration yet 😭😭). Anyway, Pedro sacrifices himself to save Señora Guzmán and boom died.

Alma hid the project he was gonna show the family that he was working on for a long time: Baymax. Basically Mirabel and the grandkids find him and he’s chill, helping them grieve and stuff. The pressure for this au is Alma taking Pedro’s saying “someone has to help” as the family needed to use their tech and intelligence around the city to help other people. And never expand on their tech. Always the same thing.

Isabela, maybe something similar to Honey Lemon, but she uses the chemicals of different plants that has different (non lethal) effects? She throws pollen pods like honey lemon does and whatever plants she makes all disappear after a certain amount of time or something, oh and her vines she uses to swing ofc, they're very durable. CARBON FIBER VINES ❗❗

Dolores, maybe she uses soundwaves and sounds in general, and uses something similar to a giant megaphone and speaks; does a lot of knockback.

Luisa, I feel like she would have attachable enhancements, kinda like gauntlets and boots that allow her to further utilize her strength and stamina etc etc

Camilo, maybe his tech tricks the mind, lots of illusions and stuff, and he definitely has a camouflage suit, so he's good for stealth and sneaking up on enemies. He might also go beyond from just people, might even have animals and objects too since its really illusion (mayhaps an upgrade later down the line in their endeavor) Ohhh, a upgrade would be really good and show how he (and the others) develop his tech further

Mirabel’s tech works with Baymax, so it's pretty similar to Hiro's, though I think she would be a jack of all trades as well. Also mentioned in what i wrote that she has a bag of tech goodies (inspired by her good ol bag in canon and also that one ask i saw about her magic bag)

Antonio, like I said before, uses robot animals. He builds them and sends then out, controlling them maybe via a headset similar to the microbots, and the animals have cameras so he can see what they see. I think maybe when he builds P.A.R.C.E (the giant robot jaguar; a.k.a Precision Automated Robotic Companion Entity) the other grandkids will let him go out to battle. Also lets him be at the final battle.

Vox makes fun of Alastor telling that he has to work in forest or villiage in gross ass tent and Alastor (with mockery) reminds him that he passed out during botany expedition. Vox gets so pissy, but laughs as he proudly tells that unlike someone he gets biochemistry (Alastor failed on it) in real they both are huge dumbass nerds but let them have fun
