The High Priestess Tarot Spread

I perform the comprehensive Celtic Cross spread when reading for others. Because I do not lightly advise a querent, or predict his future, without first letting the cards tell me of his hopes, his fears, his past, his everything.

But when I predict for myself, I use this spread instead.

Step 1: Lay The High Priestess in front of you.

Embody her prophetic powers by gazing at her intently as you shuffle while asking your question.

Step 2: Pull three cards from the top of the deck.

• Card 1 (Ace of Cups) — The irrevocable truth about this person or situation

• Card 2 (The Lovers) — The destined purpose in your life of this person or situation

• Card 3 (Ten of Cups) — The inevitable future that will befall you and this person or situation

Step 3: Turn over the deck.

• Card at the bottom (The Fool) — The reigning energy over you and this person or situation

Do you think major ilnesses are set in stone? Therefore, could one ask in the cards will I ever have cancer or something?

I don't believe anything is set in stone, simply that the past and the actions of the present directly manipulate threads of probability and actively weave the future with every moment. The cards tap into such strands of possibility and give a snapshot of the most likely outcome, this still can change.

I believe illness can be detected with the cards, I believe an individual can be told their health is a concern. But diagnosis will only come from a doctor, and should only come from a doctor in my opinion. This being said sometimes spiritual guides speak when I read directly- i.e. it is not the cards at this point but a direct communication. If this happens and health is a concern I ask the person to see a doctor- I do not relay a direct diagnosis because that is not my place- but I will vaguely say something like 'there seems to be a concern with your eyes, perhaps you should see the opticians' or something along those lines.

This is a rare occasion though. I have never had to tell someone a drastic illness is on the horizon, and thankfully nobody has ever asked me. This being said- I do not answer health questions anyway. I will mention if health is indicated in a general reading, but I will not directly diagnose or answer questions to do with concerns about disease. This is the place of a medical practitioner, not a magical practitioner.
