This one I kept thinking about the hair color explanation Dino and Dina give each other’s fathers. Joe is just supportive of his kid trying to express themselves and Mags just goes ‘yup that’s a thing that happens’ and moves on.

Also:

Sissy the Coatlus and Denver the Ptera backup as co-parents and both love the twins very much. When they are then introduced to babysitting two kids they both have different reactions. Sissy, who loves her trainer and his kid very much, doesn’t mind now having two kids to look after. Denver, on the other, is quite confused. Where did this other kid come from? Did the first one undergo mitosis? What egg did they hatch from?

OH WHATS THIS?? Spit’s posting Fossil Fighters in 2022?? (Kinda)

Okay so,, last year I tried doing this thing where I designed Dinaurians based off of the TFP cast (a classic case of two different forms of brainrot lining up to make a crossover thing that makes no logical sense) mostly because I thought it’d be fun to design some prehistoric critters based off of these guys, but also because I was on a HUGE Dinaurian kick. Unfortunately, the only designs I somewhat finished before I got distracted was Soundwave and Knockout. I did have sketches for the rest of the Decepticons however!

Okay so for Soundwave, I had trouble deciding on his battle form where I couldn’t decide if I wanted to make him a Therizinosaurus or a Quetzalcoatlus mostly because I wanted something that had either long claws or wings to mimic his weird ass long arms (that are actually wings in alt mode) I eventually settled on Quetzalcoatlus because they’re freaky looking, had flight capabilities, and the whole wing arm thing. (I know there’s inaccuracies with the design since Azhdarchids didn’t have teeth. I just thought it would be a freaky addition <3) also thought that a pterosaur battle form would be pretty unique. I think I had some minimal backstory stuff too where the guy lost his arms during the destruction of their home planet, hence the prosthetic limbs.  I’ll be posting Knockout next!

proof of concept for a pauleen redesign

i really don't want to touch the digadig tribe with a ten foot pole for fucking obvious reasons, so i tweaked things a little bit.

she received heavy scarring and a blind eye from training her fire types. fearing being ostracized for her looks, she obtained her mask from the mask shop and donned it for the tournament.

her self consciousness about her looks and general anxiety quickly faded away, but the mask's abilities warped that confidence into the extreme arrogance we know upon meeting her.

she's extremely hesitant about showing her face for much more understandable/sympathetic reasons, but upon removing the mask, she receives..

..nothing but kindness from her friends. they're happy to see the true pauleen, after all. (..they can also.. tell.. it's pauleen, haha. when she first loses it during the fruit bowl incident)

Stryker joined the Wardens at 18, in 1999, at the end of a tumultuous season of college, and worked his way up through the ranks with nothing but drive and caffeine addiction on his side. By 21, he'd earned a reputation as one of the most impressive fossil fighters in the ranks; Liu Ren continually pestered management with requests to see this young upstart promoted up to higher ranks in Fossil Park Asia. It took several more years for these requests to pass through, however, as Stryker was also a notorious vigilante. As far as criminals were concerned, this man was the law, and the law had a temper. While Stryker's always been exceedingly polite to his superiors, he's been notorious for ignoring or defying orders in order to pursue his ambitions. Sometimes, he would be completely uncontactable for days, or would request leave for inexplicable commitments for weeks at a time. He behaved best when under the least supervision, but when unsupervised, he was known for vanishing at inconvenient moments.

Still, Liu Ren's pestering worked in the end. At 23, Stryker was Vice-Captain of the Australian branch of Fossil Park Asia, and at 24, he got promoted to head of INTERFOL Asia, leading him to take up an office in Seoul. While Stryker did get more humble once given greater responsibility, he did retain his habits of overworking himself and then disappearing for weeks on end. Usually, these disappearances were very quietly planned trips to the hospital. His description of these trips tended to be 'work-related'. Few people doubted he was stressed enough to develop medical complications from pushing himself (which he did, but tended to ignore). Thus, Stryker seldom had to explain that by 'work', he didn't mean 'my tachycardia is back and my migraine's been going for 96 hours', but 'I got my nose fixed again'. Around the time Stryker thwarted the Blackraven Brigade's initial efforts to raise cain, people started making comments about the young vigilante who'd saved the world being drop-dead gorgeous. A few people then looked back through his old photos and found that while he had, indeed, always been good-looking, nobody naturally gets that much tighter a jaw over time.

Frontier began when Stryker was 35; by the time the possibility of infiltrating the Neo Black Whale loomed over INTERFOL, no amount of botox, blepharoplasty, and judicious filler could conceal the fact that Stryker looked completely exhausted. While he knew how to attend to his appearance, he tended to bury his troublesome health and generally burnt-out immune system beneath paperwork and scheming. Not long after the secret of Nibbles' creation came up, however, Stryker checked himself into hospital with heart palpitations, severe insomnia, and a vague sense of being run down. Doctors then ran a litany of blood tests, and found that in the midst of his stress, he'd neglected a raging case of Graves' Disease. He came out of that hospital stay with yet another surgery under his belt: a thyroidectomy.

Stryker jokes that as far as management are concerned, surgery is a more compelling reason to miss work than chronic illness. As much as he's joking, it's true that many of his supposed stints of disappearing aren't down to his purported caprice: instead, there are days when he can hardly move for migraine agony. Starting botox at 22 wasn't a matter of vanity, but of trying to manage symptoms; but since being chronically ill could invite judgement, he chose to curate an image that could be called vain, rather than weak (so to speak), at worst. While most people knew tangentially that Stryker would somehow be run-down under the pressure of his job, he tends to keep the worst details of his health incredibly close to his chest. Thus, not even Liu Ren knows that Stryker's work-life balance imploded not only due to work, but also due to the combination bomb of hyperthyroidism, Sjorgren's, migraines, chronic pain, and depression.

Hiya!!

First- The Injured Joe part:

 Joe got injured during a rogue vivosaur problem gone wrong. I don’t have all the details down just yet but it was a carnivorous ambush vivosaur that was able to surprise him and his team. He was knocked out after being previously wounded but his team was able to get the rogue vivosaur to white out back into its medallion form and get help. Unfortunately, he lost an eye, has scars on the left side of his body, and has a limp in his left leg. Fortunately! He is still alive and wasn’t too let down by this (he even told Mags that ‘now they match’ since they have ‘‘similar’’ scars now. this earned him a soft punch to his good arm.) and thinks the scars make him look cooler.

Second- Patrol Team. Where are they now:

 Dina ended up taking over the Caliosteo Fossil Park and Dino became her secretary (only in name, she considers her twin a co-owner since they do equal amounts of work). I still haven’t nailed down what Pauleen and Rupert would be but I think Pauleen would be interested in fashion design and Rupert would try to take over his father’s company and uphold the enjoyment of his customers and employees. Todd would most likely become the Fossil Park’s newest ‘champion’ maybe if he’s not interested in also rounding up rogue vivosaurs (Dina would also take up the mantle of Joe’s old side gig of rogue vivosaur rescues but I’m still undetermined if Dina would be more into it or Todd would).

Hopefully these answer some question. I haven’t thought more about it but I do hope to get more details down one day!

hi. (wearing a shirt that says "ask me about my yakuza pokemon au" but i'm looking in a mirror so i just start going nuts right off the bat)

woah it's some guy with a dragon tattoo!! lotsa dragons, lotsa fighters, and of course THE parent pokemon!! the zangoose is part of a matching set with majima's seviper, naturally. also it matches his autism stare. blaziken's there out of respect for nugget.

GO GO HARUKA!!! lotsa baby pokemon when she's younger :] the pichu turns into an idol pikachu mainly because i wanted something for her that'd fall in line with that but i also think igglybuff is ugly. sorry. happiny's there in particular because of the crazy eldest daughter syndrome she catches from y3 onwards LOL. that caretaker role hit her hard. sorry girl.

seviper's part of the matching set with kiryu's zangoose, naturally :] plus it fits the snake thing he's got going on with his tattoo. also some dogs!! specifically some fucked up ones!! also did you know froslass only goes after men it thinks is handsome. yeah.

daigo's so funny in y2 imo. aegislash is there in particular because it detects innate qualities of leadership!! anyway that bisharp becomes a kingambit when he's chairman (thumbs up!!)

tiger man gets the tiger man. cat. lots of big burly guys for the big burly guy. etc etc. i like that his training in y4 is just to go mining so i HAD to have at least one fossil mon. hi bastiodon!!!

yasuko's getting hit with the one-two of Beauty(TM) and Small(TM) versions of what her older brother's got :']

tanimura gets a lot of fighty guys, in particular i tried to find ones that sorta fit with the little asia stuff he's got going on. blastoise is there because of the tortoise thing and he's got a gun so ??? actually i might switch blastoise out if i end up exploring this au more LOL and zebstrika's there because he's a horse girl <3

akiyama!! a bunch of kicky guys to fit his fighting style and talonflame because of his phoenix thing. audino because he's the lifeline of kamurocho :]

hana!! why does she not have a last name!!! anyway lotsa guys to match her fighting style :]

magikarp -> gyarados is literally THE most obvious thing to pick out for nishikiyama but if it works it works!!!

makoto and tachibana get a matching set of eeveelutions :] i think a shaymin shows itself before makoto either when she gets her watch back or when she gets the new watch strap

i'm not 100% sure for most of these teams if anyone wants to share their own ideas i'm all ears!!
