Getting To Know Your New Bunny

I want to rescue a stray catboy and rehabilitate him. He hisses and swipes at me when I try to gently wash the dirt from his scraggly, matted body but eventually lets me rinse the suds out when he finds that the warm water feels quite good actually. The next day, I have him sit on my lap while I feed him with my fingers. He makes a mess, but dutifully sucks my fingers clean like a good kitty. What a good boy! I scritch behind his ears and lets out a sigh, stretching his arms and legs and flexing his cute lil paws. He's adjusting so well to indoor life ❤️❤️❤️

Eggtober 6

Poached Egg Clip Studio Paint, Gouache Brush, 5 colors, 10 minutes. Had a small emergency yesterday and had to forgo the egg. Nothing major, everyone important to me is safe and sound, but it was just the kind of day that warranted putting the art aside to help out. Today was better. But I’m cashing in my right to do a simple egg. I adore poached eggs, and my original plan was to give the poached egg(s?) I saw from other folks and my own Eggs Benedict have a few days of breathing room to really shine, but since I’m playing catch up today, I decided this one would be quick. No focusing in on the little folds that happen with a home-made poached egg where the white gets wrinkly. No fancy stuff like the bit of the yolk you can usually see through the egg. Just essence of egg and everything I adore about them. Springy whites and luscious, runny yolk. Impression of egg if you will. My egg for today (10/7/2022) will be up soon too, since I’m diving right into it after this one. Happy Eggtober, everyone, and thanks again to @quezify for organizing a chill event for us all to shine. Other Inktober events were always so stressful to just think about that I never bothered, but eggs... Eggs are just comfort and I love the environment here where we all just pop in whenever to share a love of eggs and egg art. Might write a little something deeper about what eggs mean to me on Halloween to wrap this whole event up! But for now, enjoy a simple poached egg.

I'm not asking for attention or your concerns. I just want this off my chest…because I don't want to be judged and hope to find someone out there whos been through what I've been through. About myself? I think I'm kind. I am very weird though, a lot of people tell me this all the time. I'm funny but not your ideal sense of humour. I love pastels colours, I like playing Playstation, I love Christmas, I like comics, I like helping people, I like cats but my parents won't allow it, I like museums, love memes and my favourite music artists are Taylor Swift, Hers (band), Coldplay, Foster the People, James Morrison and gosh the list goes on. I look up to these artists a lot, especially Miss Swift, her music really helped me when I was going through the hardest points in my life and even now. Even when the world doesn't make sense and when I'm at my lowest, she makes me feel better. I'm not delusional or crazy, just want to know, can I still pass as a normal person? Is it bad that I feel like I will never be proud of myself? The constant of trying to please them, my parents and never getting their validation. I'm not saying my parents were bad, just wish I was enough. I want to be enough, I want to be happy and I want to be proud of myself but I can't, because I'm never those things.

We have a foster kitty at home now that we're taking care of until she finds her permanent home! Her name is Rosie and despite the fact that she's supposedly full grown, she is basically the tiniest little kitty I've ever seen. Basically still kitten sized.

She is super happy and energetic and affectionate and loves to play! She's in medical quarantine for another week so she won't get our current cat sick while she finishes all her medications, and even though she only has one bedroom thats her space, she is SO NOTICEABLY HAPPY. Like when we first picked her up you could totally tell what being stuck in a small cage at the shelter was doing to her, the poor girl.

We think she must have been feral at some point because this girl just does NOT know how to meow for human attention like most cats. It comes out as a little croak/growl and we try not to laugh. Anyway this morning she must have decided to try a new meow technique, possibly learned from our very talkative kitty, and basically squeaked at me for a few minutes when I walked in to feed her. It was just 😍

I know this is like part of the game but my very small rescue has lost 3 kittens in the last week and it's rough. One of them was my sweet polydactyl boy who had been adopted and everything... And he just got super sick suddenly a month later and passed away. Sometimes they don't make it but... He had made it. And it hurts.
