Prologue of Book 1

The sky was clear for the first time in days, allowing the half moon to shine through. The grounds of FunLand were light. A handsome tom with a yellow pelt sat at the heart-shaped entrance to the tunnel where he and his fellow Medicine cats would meet. It had been three whole moons since they’d met. StarClan had things to tell them, he was sure of it.

FunLand had been dealt damage by the storms, not enough to destroy the landscape but enough to throw trees and uproot bushes. Cats had died, food was scarce. But after a half of a moon of clear skies, the cats were starting to recover. He turned over his shoulder as he heard the approach of another cat. “Ticketleaf,” the she-cat gasped, “It is so good to see you.”

The she-cat was very pretty, a soft cream color with dark brown paws. Her beautiful eyes shone in the dark and she slid next to the tom. She nodded. “I thank StarClan we can see each other this Half-Moon, Mothfoot,” Ticketleaf purred.

“Certainly this is a wonderful sign.” Another cat, louder and older, whispered on the air.

“Mushroombranch, how is the prey running?” Mothfoot asked.

“Much better, thank you,” Mushroombranch sighed, “The wind has died down.”

“All is better then,” Ticketleaf said with a smile.

“Not all.” The last medicine cat, a ragged, slender ginger she-cat approached. She seemed exhausted, her eyes heavy with lack of sleep.

“Foxpool? What’s wrong?” Mushroombranch asked. Foxpool shook her head. Her blind eyes stared back at the cats.

“Dartstar and Blackbelly are dead.” The cats gasped loudly.

“Both your leader and deputy?” Mothfoot wailed, “Oh no!”

“It’s alright,” she huffed, “StarClan spoke to me. We have a new leader.” She closed her eyes. “Our leader is now Ringstar.” Ticketleaf closed his own eyes.

“The young tom you just announced three moons ago as a new warrior?!” Mothfoot gasped.

“StarClan spoke,” Foxpool repeated, “It showed me a ring with a star in the center. All was clear.” The cats murmered softly, nodding.

“Let’s go,” Mushroombranch grumbled. The cats slipped onto one of the boats that was in the entrance of the tunnel. Twolegs had left this sacred place for them long ago. The water was murky and the tunnel was dark as anything. Old, rusted twolegs stood in embracing positions and old hearts were scattered about. It was an odd place, but the sacred tunnel for their meetings with StarClan. Ticketleaf took the lead until the cats hit the place they wanted.

In the center of the tunnel with boats surrounding it was a giant heart. It was pink in color and just as broken and rusted as the others. But above it was a hole in the tunnel. Moonlight washed the heart in shimmering light. The cats nodded to each other. On each side of the heart they placed their noses to it.

In a flash of light and a small amount of pain, the four cats found themselves together on the sunkissed plains of StarClan. They looked at each other. “A shared dream?” Mothfoot whispered.

“Look!” Foxpool pointed, reminding the rest of the cats she could see in her dreams. Approaching the cats were four, strong powerful cats. Two she-cats strod beside two toms, heads held high. When the four got closer, Ticketleaf let out a gasp.

“Tentstar!” Tentstar, the founding leader of TentClan, was a powerful white with fiery red eyes. Next to him were the other founders. Funstar, a lithe black she-cat covered in scars. Waterstar, a beautiful grey and black she-cat with long fur. Lastly, Ridestar, a handsome ginger tom.

“Medicine cats of the clans,” he said, “We come to you with a prophecy.”

“Does it have anything to do with the storm?” Foxpool blurted out. The other cats winced. Foxpool could be quite impulsive. The leaders shook their heads.

“No but the clans must work together to clean the storm,” Funstar said, “Keep yourselves from battle and arguments. The clans must unite if they are going to survive the aftermath of this storm.”

“That storm is over, but another is just beginning,” Waterstar said. In unison, the cats spoke.

“There are two sides to every coin. Two sides to every story. Two you will find and two shall save you all.”

The four medicine cats gasped loudly as they awoke. They looked at each other in wonder and surprise. What could this prophecy mean?

Imagine naming your son something like Foxkit and your daughter something like Quailkit expecting your son to get a suffix like -fang, -claw or -heart, and your daughter to get a suffix like -flower, -song or pool...

Only for your kits to be named Foxpool and Quailclaw.

Give toms soft names like "roseblossom" and "heatherheart" and give mollies badass names like "thunderhound" and "jaggedfang" 2020

StarClan designs 4/3: text version

This is in alphabetical order rather than by type of death like the posts, hope that’s not confusing^^;

Animal: some reference to the animal that killed them, depending on what it was. 

Bird of prey: feathers in neck or back fur, glowing talon marks 

Fox, badger, rat, or dog: new marks like teeth on chest, tufts of animal's fur on back 

Snake: small, scaly markings in patches here and there, fang marks

Burning/smoke inhalation: flames coming off of fur, orange glow, wisps of smoke from mouth and charred ground under paws when upset 

Crushed/Fell: bits of whatever they were crushed by, fell from, or fell onto appear in their pelt. (ex. pebbles and bits of stone from rocks, twigs and leaves from a tree, dust and debris from something constructed, etc.)

Drowning: water dripping off of fur, blue shine in eyes  Freezing: frost or snow in fur, misty breath, ground or water turns frosty underpaw (increases when upset) 

Illness: if treatment was attempted, herbs used grow on neck and chest. If not attempted, stars cluster around affected areas

Hit by car: black paw pads, tar smudges on paws, yellow glow in eyes (like headlights) 

Lightning: tend to have little sparks of lightning around their paws, fur sticks up with static, really bright eyes, slight glow in back fur 

Murdered: as well as signs from whatever their cause of death was, some sort of reference to their murderer (like a marking or an object in their name) appears on them. These signs disappear when they are at peace with their death, for example if justice was found or they discussed their murder with their murderer. This does not apply to battle wounds, only deaths caused with murderous intent

Old age: made young again, have a glint of old wisdom in their eyes. tend to have a golden tinge to their glow, like sunlight 

Poisoning (plant based): plant that caused poisoning grows around neck, chest, or behind ears

Poisoning (animal based): tufts of animal's fur in their pelt, higher density of stars in belly fur

Starvation/dehydration: smell like prey or water, tend to have StarClan prey following them or find themselves near water. Always just a little hungry or thirsty, so the things around them are put to good use. 

Wounds (general): wounds glow and have clusters of stars around them.

Rank-specific changes

Healers have whatever their herb was growing more freely in their fur, and it tends to sprout up wherever they go, especially if they stay in one place too long. Their glow is green.

Leaders have a star on their forehead and nine distinct stars glowing around their neck. They do not have a spirit form of their lost lives running around before they die, instead a vision of them with stars around the neck corresponding to the number of lives they've lost is in the Starpool.

A kit who died really young will stay about three or four moons old in StarClan and will seek out other kits and mothers who died while kitting. (if their own family is still alive). They can age, but only will when they’re ready, if they want to at all.

Queens who died while kitting or not long after are rounder (though not fully pregnant-sized), have a permanent scent of milk, have raspberry leaves growing in their fur, and are magnetic to StarClan kits.

Apprentices are given an honorary warrior name in StarClan (for example Twilightsnow, Sleetwhisker, Foxpool, Magpiepelt, Elkspring, Volefur, Antlersweep, Smallstep)

She opens her eyes and saw the great ape looking straight at her and she said With a sheepish tone* Excuse me pardon me." Then the great ape roars at her face and saphira Jumped and scream when she flies off fearfully..and she turns and saw about 4 oozarus*

*She screaming and said* oh Shit oh shit!! I'm allergic To This Thing!! AACHOO! *her Sneeze went shooting to the caves..and then one of them spotted her and she is shaken*

They get along very well actually, it’s their Apprentices that fuss with each other when they get older really. But these guys get along very well even if Foxpool can get a little brash and it annoys the others.

I do have to say that the sunset vibe was completely an accident, but I really like the mood it gave the piece so I tried to accentuate it. :‘3 I just love these two so much. TwT But do let me know what you think about it! Any kind of feedback or suggestions are always welcomed! =3 Also, I forgot to mentioned it, this piece in particular was done for a prompt list for last year’s Halloween.
