I'm afraid that Rammstein will never come back to the US and I'll miss my chance of meeting him in person and I'd love to see some sweet fan interactions ❤️ Dankeschön ❤️❤️

Please excuse my late reply to this, but I love this ask! It's known that Richard can be very warmhearted towards fans and gives out bone-crushing hugs left and right - I found several accounts of fans who met him and will accumulate these in the following post 😊 (sources are linked at the end of the post.)

First some stories of fans who shared their experiences on the internet:

One fan met him before a concert, he gave the fan a hug and they say that to this day, they haven't forgotten the feeling of this hug.

Here's an account of a fan who met Richard at a resort in Mexico: "Richard never acted like we were imposing on his time or being a hindrance, even though he was with a table of friends. As soon as we were in eye contact range, his entire demeanor changed. He lit up like a Christmas tree and stood to shake our hands, stood close to us to chat for a few minutes - five minutes, tops, and gave us hugs as we left before shaking our hands again."

After a concert: "The hug I got was bone crushing. I was right in front of him. Cried my way through Frühling [...]. He checked on me and asked me if I was ok. Said i was fine and even the amount of times I'd seen them play, i got so caught up in the emotion. Richard told me they were the most moving moments for him at least and pulled me into a huge hug that if i think about it, i can still feel. Sounds weird but when you get a hug like that you dont forget it."

Richard seems to be a bit camera-shy while being out and about (declining selfies most of the time), but offers/asks for hugs himself as a return, as told by a fan who met him at the Chicago Airport. The fan apologized after asking for a selfie, yet Richard immediately asked her to give him a hug afterwards.

At a concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit back, May 2012: "For some reason, I thought of making a sign that said "Pick für mich, bitte". We were right at the barricade and I decided to flash the sign. I don't even know what I expected out of it. Well, Richard fucking Kruspe went to his mic stand, got a pick, went to the security guard in front of the railing and told him to give me the pick. The guard and I had chatted prior to their performance, so he looked at me with a "way to go, kid" look. People around me cheered. Best concert memory ever. Nothing but a class act."

Another fan reports him being quite talkative and attentive during parties - apparently really listening to the other person and showing real interest. He really likes to talk about music and guitars and seemingly likes hearing the opinions of fans.

Meeting the band in front of their hotel: "His hug was the tightest, and he smells SO GOOD, I wanted to ask what was his perfume. I told him I loved Emigrate, he gave me the biggest smile and thanked me."

Then we have voice from withing the fandom on here - the lovely and helpful @anwiel13 said this about meeting him at a Meet&Greet (thank you again for sharing this! 🤍):

"Once he entered the room, we immediately know it. Not that he did something, but he really has this big personality, in very good way. He was smiling all the time, unless taking photos, than we was all his gothic deep stare self. He was also super nice to two girls, who were absolutely nervous, telling him how much they love him. We all know he hear this all the time, but he really looked like he is listening them and make them feel not like crazy fangirls annoying him with their feelings. If that's make sense. He hugged one girl when she asked him and again, did not looked like she's annoying him with this. He left very quickly after taking photos and signed our things. Overall, he was very nice and caring. I heard somebody complain about him being all snobby and annoyed during some M&G, but he was nothing like this during the one in Prague."

And since of course I found some experiences with other band members on my research-way, here are my favourites of some of the other guys 😊:

At an afterparty: "I spent a long time talking to Flake who is beautifully underappreciated. He's such a wise man with an incredibly dark sense of humour. [...] Flakes English isn't great but he seemed to really appreciate that someone would talk to him in German and happy to help me figure out words I wasn't familiar with and vice versa. I really appreciated it as he did slow down his natural German speaking speed to help me continue a conversation in German as native speaking speed was just a little too fast."

At a meet and greet: "Schneider gave me such Dom-Daddy vibes that I would have got on my knees if he asked. He was so friendly, asked about myself and I was able to give him a letter from my best friend who had spoken to him years before, and he was so happy to take it."

At an afterparty of Till's solo tour (London concert): "I went to see Lindemann in London and was invited to the after party and ended up trying to open a bottle of wine with a set of keys with Till and then ended up drinking vodka and chatting to him for a few hours. Such a humble human and one of my biggest role models in life - he made me want to become a fire performer and he said I looked great doing what I do."

"Did a meet & greet on the 2019 tour and a bunch of the after parties. Doom is an incredible dancer and Paul and Richard give the best hugs." (I've read several times that Schneider seemingly kills it on the dance floor 👀)

All in all, it's always amazing reading about fans having nice experiences with them - but let's not forget (since some people do exactly this), the band members are also just human beings like you and me, don't owe the fans smiles and good moods, and it's not a crime to have a bad day once in a while (with less enthusiastic interaction with fans) or just wanting some peace or being in a hurry, since they all do have private lives🤝🏼

woohoo we're in a decade i know at least semi well – and we're closing out the nineteenth century.

in this decade, we saw the return of puff sleeves, eventually forming the iconic leg o' mutton shape thats synonymous with women's fashion in the 1890s. the shape of the skirt started close to the body, and then widened out into a "bell", with hemlines nearly always reaching the ground or just above it. the hat craze continued, and hats would often be made to match the outfit or the circumstance one would wear it. while there was an intense amount of social norms regarding dress, restrictions loosened as the decade went on. why, some women were even wearing trousers as they played sports! we also saw the rise of the iconic gibson girl, a fashion icon that would persist through the 1890s and the 1900s.

What are the 10/10 Rammstein songs, meaning they're both excellent on the album and live?

For example, and in my humble opinion --

Ich Will, Sonne, Mein Teil are equally amazing on record and live

Whilst Zeit is amazing on record but is quite weak live and vice versa for Du Hast.

I also would nominate Mutter, even though they don't play it anymore, but when they did it was awesome live (and also on album)

Zeit and Adieu both also work,, imo, very well live and on album...and Klavier too...and Du riechst so gut...

Frühling in Paris from 2012 is one of my favorite live songs, but the way they did it later (2017?) i didn't enjoy as much..

Nebel i felt didn't work live (even though it's a great song), and neither imo did Giftig.

When i was at the concert i was surprised how well Radio and Ausländer work live, purely from the album those wouldn't be my favorites. Main Teil is very much a showpiece live, almost a whole separate thinh from the album version.

Seeman i love as a song, but weirdly enough, neither from the album or live version, i love that the way Apocalyptica did it 🌺

Is that what she might have looked like back when their mom used to be a kid? Back when she was her favourite doll in the most beautiful blue dress?

You frowned as a soft melody traveled through the halls of Teyvat Entertainment. Having worked there for months, you knew it didn’t belong to any of the groups or talents. Their songs fell more into the pop category with the occasional ballad, but this was different. It was a delicate piece, beautiful, yet subdued. And as you followed the sound, you couldn’t help but feel you knew this song from somewhere. But where?

When you opened the door to the practice room belonging to 5WIRL, there was Xiao mid-pirouette, and then it sunk in. You did know this song! In fact, how in the world did you not recognize it in the first place!? You used to listen to his songs on continuous repeat when you were younger. But more important was Xiao! After all–

You rushed up to him and took his hands in excitement.

“You know who Barbatos is? Are you a fan??”

There were practically sparkles in your eyes as you gazed up at the soft-spoken man in sheer excitement. With your heart beating so fast, you didn't even realize you didn't give him a chance to respond before you continued.

“This song is ‘Cecilia’ from his first album, ‘Der Frühling,’ right? While he has gotten a bit more traction over the years, most people aren’t even aware of this album!! So obviously you have to be a fan, right? What is your favorite song from the album? Is it this one? Mine is ‘What is a Windblume?’”

Perhaps you did sound a bit fanatical, but could anyone blame you? Barbatos, though a phenomenal composer, was not necessarily well known. While it was said he ghostwrote a lot of songs for groups and movies that immediately topped the lists, his personal works were few and far between. It didn’t help that he opted to remain anonymous. So to find someone that actually knew who he was absolutely astounded and excited you! You finally had someone to gush over Barbatos with!

It was unfortunate that in your excitement, you didn’t notice the rather confused expression on your companion’s face. While you were a regular face in the office and at concerts, you were usually fighting with Venti or assisting the other members of 5WIRL. He always assumed you were intimidated by him, but seeing how you were practically up in his face with sheer giddiness, he concluded that wasn’t the case. 

“I’m not that much of a fan…” He mumbled, turning his face away. 

You frowned.

“But you have to like at least one of the songs to be listening to this album!!” You pleaded.

He let out an exasperated sigh. And after a few moments of silence, he finally responded.

“‘Floating Lights…’”

Your heart suddenly stopped… before jumpstarting a mile a minute. A wide grin blossomed upon your lips as you squeezed his hands and hopped excitedly.

“You mean the song he was rumored to have made during a trip to Liyue for the Lantern Rite?? That’s not even on this album!!! There’s no way you’re not a fan! Which part is your favorite? The beginning with the lyre? Or is it that floaty part with the flute?”

If you weren’t up in his face, you were definitely there now. Or at least that’s where you would have been had a rather… annoying voice not joined the conversation.

“Oh? What are you both talking about?”

Your lips immediately pulled into a pained grimace. And just as expected, you turned to see the leader of 5WIRL with his green tipped locks and deceptively sweet smile. 

It was not a secret among the members and staff of 5WIRL that you didn’t get along with Venti. Where all the members of 5WIRL were calm and sweet (for the most part), Venti was lazy and uncontained. How many times were you called in the middle of the night to pick him up from random taverns? How many times did you find yourself cleaning up after him in the practice studio? You had no doubt your life would be much simpler if he just weren’t around.

Still, as much as you hated to admit it, he wasn’t popular for no reason. The picture he painted of himself to his fans was of an impish fairy. Ethereal in looks, yet mischievous in nature. Sweet-tongued, yet as unpredictable as the winds. If anyone asked you, though, you’d say he was more akin to a demon. But… you supposed he was a great songwriter and lyricist. Not as good as Barbatos, mind you, but still halfway decent. 

“We’re talking about our shared love of a very amazing songwriter,” you replied with an upturned nose. 

“A songwriter? Which one? Maybe I’ve heard of them!” he replied with curious excitement.

You gave a wry snort of laughter.

“Oh, I highly doubt it. He’s very underground. Certainly not mainstream like you. And his music has a lot of depth, I’m not sure you’d understand…”

“Really? Then I’d love to know who he is! Maybe I can learn a thing or two, hehe!”

Much to your dismay, Venti didn’t become irritated nor upset. Rather, he seemed to be even more interested. Xiao, on the other hand, became more and more concerned with each word that left your mouth. In fact, had you been paying attention, you would have seen him hesitantly holding his hand out as if to stop you from driving your train of sheer arrogance straight off of the cliff of rude awakening!

“Well, for your information, his name is–”

“First!”

You nearly jumped out of your skin. Spinning around, you were shocked to see that it was Xiao with a more intense look of frustration on his face than usual. Even though it could be no one other than him that yelled your name so loudly, you could hardly believe it. But now that he finally had your attention, it seemed he didn’t quite know what to do next. If you were paying attention, however, you would have noticed a pair of very observant eyes watching the scene unfold before him.

“... The… manager wants to see you,” he finally got out. 

You frowned. The manager? You were pretty sure you already handled everything they asked for… Maybe they needed you for something else.

“Did they text you what they wanted?” You asked curiously.

He shook his head.

You sighed.

“Well, hopefully I didn’t forget to do something. I’ll see you two later.”

With that, you slowly trudged your way over to the door. You were really hoping you weren’t needed for something important. Today was supposed to be a slow day. But before you could get any farther, a hand grabbed yours.

“Wait! Can you tell me the name of that composer first, please? If he’s better than me as you say, then you gotta tell me who he is!” Venti begged sweetly.

Xiao’s shoulders stiffened.

“The manager has texted me twice already. Don’t make them wait,” he interrupted.

“Aw, c’mon, Xiao,” Venti groaned. “It’s not going to take them any longer to tell me. Who is it, first?”

“First, they’ve just texted me again.”

“Please? I just want to know his name! Tell me? Pretty please?”

“Just go already.”

“No, don’t listen to him!”

“First.”

“First!”

You exploded.

“QUIET ALREADY!”

You turned to Xiao first.

“The manager can wait just five more seconds! Do you want me gone so badly?”

You then turned to Venti.

“And you! If you really must know, his name is Barbatos. He makes the most wonderful music in the whole entire world. The way he can paint the most beautiful scenes with his lovely melodies is proof that he is an angel in human form. For some time, I couldn't even sleep without listening to his music, so I really owe my life to him! He was my first love and he's way more the musician than you’ll ever be!”

You then turned, stomped off, and slammed the door behind you.

After a few moments of silence, Xiao let out a long drawn out sigh.

“This is why they dislike you so much.”

“Ehe!”

Because I can't contain how excited I was for my Flying Circus Session last night I totally forgot to share a fun thing my group made up leading to the session.

So I had this idea that in the final moments of the war that ended the world, some of the empires captured some members of the fae and attempted to weaponize them.

This goes exactly as planned... but a little too well

It ends up creating a whole new fae court: the court of steel.

Due to their fae ancestry, the other courts: Frühling, Sommer, Herbst, and Winter have to allow them to exist despite them not necessarily adhering to the other courts.

Not many members exist in the court of steel, but each embody an aspect of the warring old world.

They are:

Ferrous the weaponsmith

Cyprim the industrialist

Aurum the plentiful

Alumina the manufacturer

Arsenicum the chemist

The 5 of the steel court, like most fae in our game, desire for an older time. Unlike the other fae though they do not wish for the natural landscapes to expand to infinity or to see humans in the ways of old, but instead they wish to continue the war well after it had ended.

The circus has only met a few of them, and already they know how much of a threat they pose.

Dienstag, 30.04.

Der Tag begann um 05:00 Uhr mit arbeiten. Ich möchte vor meinem Urlaub unbedingt alles fertig stellen.

Gegen 06:00 Uhr machten die Möwen ganz schön Lärm und so ging ich leise auf die Terrasse und wollte ein paar Würfchen machen. Der Wind war zwar etwas besser, blies aber immer noch sehr kräftig von vorn. Ich hatte sofort einen kleinen 40er Pollack dran, der wieder schwimmen durfte. Ich wollte ganz leise machen aber schonn stand Setti im Schlafanzug da und schnappte sich ihre Angelrute😂. Sie fing einpaar kleine, die alle wieder zurückgesetzt wurden.

Gegen Mittag machten wir einen Spaziergang. Man erlebt hier wirklich einen 2. Frühling. Die Osterglocken blühen gerade, die Tulpen sind noch geschlossen und es duftet himmlisch …ich weiß nicht, was es ist, vielleicht Waldmeister. Da der Wind am Abend nachlassen sollte, fuhren wir gegen 17:00 Uhr raus in Richtung Oksen und steuerten das erste Plateau an. Wind und Welle waren noch ziemlich stark und wir beide mussten erstmal mit Rolle, Rute, Bremse und Seegang klar kommen. Zwischen 1. und 2. Plateau fanden wir den ersten Schwarm. Es waren Schellfische, die wir wieder zurücksetzten, weil sie die 50 cm nicht erreicht haben. Bevor wir das große Oksenplateau erreichten kamen die Schwärme bei 60-70 m. Wir verloren einige, weil die Bremse vermutlich zu stark eingestellt war. Aber 8 Seelachse zwischen 60-70 cm nahmen wir mit. Und so landeten die ersten 3,5 kg Filet in unserer Truhe. Wir ließen den Abend bei einem herrlichen Sonnenuntergang ausklingen. Euch einen schönen 1. Mai😊.

I'm going with Hozier, since he's my favourite artist.

Specifically Take me to church, it's his most well knows song for a reason. Whenever I think I have a new favourite I listen to it again and think nevermind. It's still that one.

The song released when I was nine, just before I started learning English, so by the time I actually understood what he was singing I already knew the song itself quite well.

31 days Rammstein challenge

Day twenty-four favorite LIFAD song

That time we were thinking that waiting for album for 4 years was terrible. If I would just know that we will have to wait for facking 10 years to get next one!

Before making this album, Rammstein had whole year pause. It is funny that according to Rammwiki (I can not find the MetalHammer article they are referring to...) the band had a problem to play together after this long time and they had to learn how to work together again. Schneider even supposed to say them to get it together or just split up. But in LIFAD making of video, Ollie is saying that they did not have any problem and everything click together perfectly. Well, the Rammwiki mention that Richard get annoyed, which I guess is just normal for them 😁

I again feel that fans do not like this album that much. But I love it! It is such an amazing album. Rammlied, Ich tu dir weh, my beloved Waidmanns Heil, Wiener Blut, Frühling in Paris, Haifisch... This album has so much amazing songs!

My favorite part of making of is Oliver's love for tree house. I would love to know how he did fit his long body to this bed, which looks too small for him. But this whole scene is amazingly calming.

And of course Paul being annoying with his camera. But we are forever grateful to him, because without him and his camera, we would not have such amazing materials.

Ok, enough about the whole album, let's talk about my favorite song. Well, I already said that my all time favorite song is Waidmanns Heil on day one of this challenge. So I will go with my second favorite one.

Wiener Blut. This song is insane just like the story behind it. I remember when I hear about Josef Fritzl and what he done to his own daughter! I could not believe it. And this song perfectly describes how fuck up his mind have to be.

This part always gets me a goosebumps! Especially in this live video, how Till do sing this part and then nothing, darkness only with green lasers. How creepy this is!

Day 24 — Favorite Liebe Ist Für Alle Da Song

I love this album (well ok, I say that of all Rammstein albums, and I am absolutely not objective). I like this album even if I find that it is not the best in terms of homogeneity of the quality of the songs. But it’s one harder in terms of sound, it looks a lot like Mutter. This is the album that I made by the members of the group signed and it is today my most precious property with regard to Rammstein (I will talk about it again for day 29 of this challenge). I already told you how much I loved this album on day 4 of this challenge.

My favorite song from this album is Ich Tu Dir Weh, but as I have already selected this song for day 3 of this challenge. So I will choose my second favorite song :

Wiener Blut is a song that I really like. It is a typical song of Rammstein whose theme is the real and very sad story of Josef Fritzl, being despicable, guilty of forcible confinement and incest on his own daughter. There is a mystery around the intro of the song: it is undoubtedly a three -step waltz, some believe that it is a composition of Johann Strauss, because we know that he There is a song composed by the latter which has the same name, but the question that arises is about the sound in it. Some fans have recognized the sound of a gramophone. In short, this intro caused a lot of ink in the forums in 2010 when it was released.

The boys wink at this song during the 2022 tour by brandishing a sign "Willkommen in der Dunkelheit".

I also really like the Waidmanns Heil, Haifisch, Frühling in Paris and Roter Sand songs.

Rammblings Nijmegen 2024-06-18

The Show (part 1)

- I LOVED the concert! ❤️❤️ I loved every song on the setlist, loved the band, loved the big screens, loved the band, loved the pyro, loved the lighting, loved the band, loved the fancam (especially the guy and girl flashing their chest 😄), and did i mention i loved the band? ❤️❤️

- From what i usually browse after a show on social media the focus is mostly on the visuals, but men! does this band have good music! There isn't a song i don't like on that whole setlist.

- at first everybody on the tribunes was pretty quiet, because of the rain many stayed in the food and drinks area until Rammstein started and then were cold and wet, but i was in one of the top rows and had the fortune of having a couple of people around (all Germans, Nijmegen is pretty close to Germany too) who were dancing along which was great fun 🥰 so we had a great overview over the entire venue and all the people in it

- i don't know if it was cold on stage too, it was probably wet enough, but the band didn't show it. True professionals giving it their all, and getting the audience excited, each on their own side of the stage, so everyone in the audience has someone from the band looking at their side, and when f.i. Till walks over to Richard's side, Richard moves to the middle to be in touch with the audience there; these guys know what they are doing 🥰

- Liked the supporting act Abelard well enough, as i really enjoy the piano versions of the songs anyway, but they played at the most rainy part of the evening and had difficulty getting the crowd behind them (not for lack of enthusiasm of the ladies); think i was the only one who applauded after a song (didn't stop me doing it 😊). I do get what some here said a while ago, that 'no supporting act' would be an option too, indeed the pre-pre-show music from Rammstein with bits of older music videos was quite good as a warming up too, and i got to hear some of my favorite songs like Mutter and Frühling in Paris through that, so that made me happy 🥰 But when Abelard finished the crowd was growing and we even cheered on the drum soundcheck (i assume by Schneider's backliner Rossi Rossberg).

- My seat was unfortunately right behind one of the towers which blocked my view of center stage a lot, so i couldn't really see Till and Schneider that well 🥺 fortunately Till moves around on stage quite a lot (and is ofcourse often on the big screens) so that helped, but Schneider i think i only saw at the boats and at the bows/salut. Even from the seats i could tell Schneider was enjoying the crowd boating, and i loved how sparkly Flake was in the boat (Paul and Olli's boat was right behind them, but Richard's took a while, for a second i feared he had skipped the boating and walked back with Till 😊) Till was back just in time to help Schneider and Flake out, although they probably don't need it, they are very skilled by now 😊
