As a longtime Winter13 shipper, if by long time I mean since the entirety of Phase Four --

I was definitely on my guard against any sort of Bucky x Yelena development going into my Most Anticipated Film of Phase Five. (Weirdly I have been discerning over two phases shipping Yelena Belova with Sam Wilson -- though I guess not so weird now with the end-credits scene!) But having made it through the entirety of the Thunderbolts film, I feel a personal need to echo one of the 'headlines' from the end credits: "I like 'em!"

Bucky and Yelena are SO the father and mother of the team. Even if right now technically their only child is Bob. (Though they could also easily rope in Mel -- AKA Songbird? -- and I LOVED the running parallel throughout the film of Bucky mentoring or looking out for Mel, and Yelena taking care of Bob. Like I hope BY shippers did not miss that❄️🕸️.) I would say John and Ava are more an uncle and aunt than a brother and sister…and I volunteer Alexei as team grandfather. Especially with all of his expected batshittery (riding the Sentry, oye). The resolution of things definitely brought me back to my Phase One fanfic enjoyment, and yet somehow they feel Even More of a family than the Avengers. (I could never see a Captain America 3 Civil War breaking them up, if on the outside there does seem to be a Civil War 2 on the horizon👩🏼‍⚖️👩🏼‍⚖️👩🏼‍⚖️👩🏼‍⚖️.)

And I thought Bucky helping Yelena out with that technology was just Too Cute (not bad for a guy who was allegedly 90 for the first Avengers film). There was such a ready physical closeness between them by the time we roll credits that I will go feral if not further explored in any sort of canon or content (there is a story to be told for the time jump -- I need to knooooow). They may have been this close to becoming an anti-ship for me, but I find myself wanting to stay in this ship for a bit instead and get comfortable. Talk about a journey of redemption.

He wandered. He didn't know where he was going, where he wanted to be. Nowhere. Anywhere. As long as it wasn't here.

Eventually, he stopped at a fountain square. The air was cold where it blew off the mumbling stone. One of many in the park, the fountain muttered and grumbled, the water cycling endlessly in an illusion of permanence. He sat down on a bench to watch it, to distract his stupid mind from its stupid, depressing thoughts. Maybe he could go into a trance. Maybe he could find some kind of profound wisdom in the miracle of gravity made trivial by modern technology. Maybe he could just dunk his head in the basin and count all of the coins tossed in despite the signage, drowning the world out until he had to come up for air, choking and coughing.

He sighed and leaned forward, burying his face in his hands.

hi 🕸️ i'm really sorry you had a bad day. :( i offer you pats. i had a busy busy day guhh. saw wicked and loved it !!! gelphie regressing together so silly : 3 !! on the brain , galinda just the type of freak that is right up my ally. ( she is tethered to alicent hightower by my calculations ) i always had a special interest in musicals but for some reason never saw wicked :< loved the film though !! i nearly cried i will not lie. stomping gelphie like they are a rain puddle ( with love and understanding do not fear ). would like to maybe post some headcanons if people would be interested when things are less hectic and i have time again. lmk if that's something people would like to see ^_^.

on the topic of mama ! cait with lion cub regressor i don't have any immediately jumping to mind that i haven't already said but let me think some up bc there's definitely more where the initial ones came from ! or caitvi oooh tehe.. i think vi LOVES to play with you. he's always provoking you by dangling a toy just out of reach or making a playful comment about how he doesn't know.... he might be tougher than youu... he always winks but that doesn't stop you from roaring all big and scary and trying to prove him wrong.

vi is always cooking meats for a growing beast like you !! tehe. caitlyn is a better baker whereas vi is a better cook. he jokes around, "we're havin' hippo tonight !" you gasp at this. "really ?" you ask , shellshocked and a little curious. you're not sure you wanna eat real hippo... "oh honestly , vi. don't tease the poor cub," caitlyn will chide , barely able to contain a smile.

caitlyn is always getting tangles out of your mane. "ah ah, stay still my love. i spy a little knot." ( it's usually more than a "little knot" ) you'll roar when you get bored , trying to squirm out of her grasp. "oh hush now , cubby. i wouldn't want to pull too hard because you're so squirmy." sometimes this will get you to quiet down but other times she'll have to bribe you with a treat or vi will have to sit in front of you and make funny faces. you'll be sat on caitlyn's lap giggling and pointing at vi who's crouched down just so so that you and him are on eye level.

on the subject of cait being a good baker caitlyn will sometimes bake you little shaped treats , maybe a paw shaped cookie or lion decorated cupcakes. she uses lots of cookie cutters , she has so many different shapes ! she'll even make you meat shaped treats sometimes.

You reel, trying to imagine a young Taehyun made to witness the gory deaths of innocents. Your words from earlier rise like bile in your throat. You want to ask why he never did anything, why he wouldn’t save them, but you know looking over the jagged, nasty scars that litter his arms and torso that he had. He had, and he took his father’s wrath each time he did.

I'm speechless. I knew he must have had his own reasons for the way he acts, but damn. It just hit me. He doesn't want to be seen as weak, hence his unreadable expressions towards MC and always having to keep a mask on. He hates his father, but he also knows he won't survive for long if he doesn't become a monster in others' eyes.

taehyun has a very complex relationship with himself, living in the shadow of his father. he sees his father in himself, and being the man that raised him, he both feels the imprint of his teachings branded all over him and also finds himself betraying his moral code all the time despite his mask. especially with the appearance of MC, he is more at odds with his own moral code than ever. THATS ALL I CAN SAY.

And I kind of hate the way they altered Edward drinking from her in the movie. You kidding me? You're gonna take that victory away from him? That was SUCH a big deal! She's his bloodsong and he was able to maintain himself even after everything! And they TOOK that from us!
