actually -ov (ов) in russian can sound like an -of (оф) [not with two fs tho] but when it comes to female surnames (which is -ова), that's where it stops making sense

i think the -off thing originates from europe and russian imigrants?? there are real-life examples of male -off surnames. but i don't see any reason why natasha would change her surname from романова (romanova) to romanoff???

oooh interesting. i suppose there’s silver sable who’s name is silver sablinova which makes sense. symkaria is like. right next to transia and latveria too so.why they’d have completely different name formulas is a bit messy??? the kravinoffs are offs too. both father and daughter. not sure where they’re from. i think ppl would probably say nat changed her name to blend in but if anyone’s thrown off by natalia romanova becoming natasha romanoff then they’re a little dumb

Can you talk a little about your problems with nh? I’ve felt weird about it for a month or so but I can’t place it

i’ve started seeing a lot of people speak up on their issues with nh, and after reading a bunch of them, agree that in regards to an animal crossing game, nh isn’t actually that good. i’ve only played wild world and pocket camp before this, so i expected it to be like those games, just better. nh has had really cool changes, i absolutely love the freedom of decorating outside and i could get lost perfecting each area (i’m overlooking the steep prices of moving buildings and making new bridges and slopes fs) and the graphics are stunning! but that doesn’t make it a good animal crossing game. the heart of the game used to be your connection with the villagers. i fell in love with slowly becoming friends with these goofy, unique villagers and becoming from neighbours to best friends! there was so much reward!! and having full, different conversations with them every time i bumped into them! in nh, having two villagers of the same personality type means talking to the same person twice, having the exact same conversations, stuff like that. they easily put so much dialogue in ww, yet somehow struggled with nh? like how is speaking to a villager, having them say one thing (or commenting on a close by item or house again and again) or being annoyed that im talking to them fun in any way? i rarely talk to them anymore apart from to give them their daily item or when they want to give me a gift. :/ it’s the same with the shopkeepers, like sable would take weeks to warm up to and would slowly give you info about her life, and same with tom nook. isabelle’s morning annoucements are tedious now. my favourite part of the game is gone, and it makes me super sad. :(

it’s like b/otw and sw/sh, where i want to buy it because its the first of that series on the switch, but it’s missing the heart of what it really is. definitely with sw/sh, it looks like Nintendo is missing a bunch of content in the base game to either priotisie on graphics, make people play it for longer by playing again when new updates and content is added, or getting more money by putting stuff that should be in the base game in a £30 dlc. it’s shit tbh.
