FT Ice siblings Headcanons

ultear is back to normal in this bc i make the rules

None of them are touchy feely types, but man would they die for eachother

Gray and Ultear get ‘mistaken’ as siblings constantly, and Lyon is absolutely not jealous of it, he swears!

They are both pretty protective of Gray for obvs reasons (little brother and he was technically both their turning points)

even more so after his death to the dragons

also stemming from their guilt

the reasons dont matter, but they would give him the world if he asked

Lyon Vastia, also known as the ‘Resident Drama Queen’

Ultear is allergic to cats

it was devastating to find out

Lyon and Ultear grew close during the 7 years Fairy Tail was missing, it made them gravitate towards eachother

they mourned Gray together (even though neither could fully accept he was most likely dead), spoke about their guilt (Ultear told Lyon about what she did on Tenrou, and her involvement in Galuna) and got to know one another

When Lyon found out Fairy Tail was back he dropped everything and booked the next train to magnolia

He tried to get in contact with her on the way there, but communication was always tricky with her job

After Ultear was like, reinstated (or whatever the word is) she dragged them both to a bunch random events and restaurants and just a lot of places

Gray pulls the ‘poor sweet little brother’ and ‘and here I thought you were a good older [brother/sister]’ card on them at every denial they give him

it works every time

Gray lets Ultear, Jellal, and Meredy crash/hide at his place if they want, it allowed him to get to know them, and for them to have a safe haven

Gray told Erza after a couple months of this going on and she started suspiciously visiting Grays house more often

They have a groupchat, Gray’ll bother the fuck out of them in the middle of the night bc hes bored and his sleeping schedule is shit

or he’ll send incriminating and alarming photos/messages and drop off the face of the earth for awhile

Lyon pretends its annoying and says as much but it finds it comforting to wake up with texts every morning

although, 47 separate messages from one person about the chronicles of a stray cat is a little excessive

Ultear indulges him since Crime Sorciere does most of their traveling at night

Lyon and Gray have a running bet on if she sleeps

they have a standing bimonthly meeting, sometimes they’ll meet before that but it there is always a fixed plan just incase

She's really organized. Her side of camp is always nice and neat.

Her feelings about Gray are always changing. Some days she actually really likes him and other days she considers murdering him. Old habits die hard

She is very hot headed. Not Natsu levels but close

Jellal is basically her second mom at this point. She jokingly calls him it and he hates it

She wears colored contacts. After Ultear’s death she wears red ones so she can remember her every time she looks in the mirror

Midnight and her are besties. They have a secret handshake and everything

The most stubborn person you'll ever meet. Once she makes up her mind it's all over

Just the silly Lyredy kids! We have: - Isolde (18, Male, He/Him, Pansexual) - Lacie (15, AFAB, She/Her, Asexual) - Cypress (12, Male, He/Him, Questioning AroAce) Isolde is a full fledged member of Lamia Scale, going on quests with his team alongside his best friends. He uses his mothers Maguilty Sense for his magic. The best way to describe him personality wise is that he's a himbo in every sense of the word. He's tall, not very smart but has a heart of pure gold. He gets his siblings in all sorts of trouble. Lacie just recently became a member of Lamia Scale, and is still finding her place in the guild. She's only been going on a few quests with her dad so far. She has her fathers Dynamic Ice Make magic. Lacie is always dragging Isolde out of bad ideas, being much more rational than her older brother. She's calm, a little snappy but she's kind. Cypress isn't quite ready yet to be a member of Lamia Scale, so he stays home with his mother and helping out at the guild hall. Due to an incident where he nearly died as a young child, he's been able to contact Ultear on occasion (not entirely fleshed out yet, subject to change). In turn, he's learning Arc of Time magic, much to his parents surprise. Cypress is a bit of a wild card. He doesn't need to be watched as he's a surprisingly responsible child, but he will make a snarky comment and tell you an inappropriate joke that a child his age should not know.

Chapter 544: You're the King

Acnologia's rampage continues even with Fairy Sphere encasing him, leading to Meredy saving the day by linking all of the Mages continent's power to help reinforce the Defense Magic. Natsu, with the combined power of the other six Dragon Slayers, defeats the spiritual form of Acnologia which in turn disintegrates his physical form, leading to Ishgar's victory and their future secured.

As the ravines of time opened, Natsu and the other dragon slayers fell from the sky.

What a comedic way to end.

And Natsu fell toward his family.

Not Erza, Gray, or other FT members but with Lucy and Happy.

"juvia really wasn't needed plot wise. Some would argue she help[ed] the team enter the Tower of Heaven but I'm pretty sure they would have found a way without her. Same for Battle of Fairy tail. she literally accomplished nothing there. she was absent from Edolas and Oracion Seis.

I'd ignore the filler arcs because they are trash, but in the Daphnee arc she didn't do anything either, besides blindly defending Gray even though he was 100% in the wrong (and I say this asa massive Gray fan). In Tenrou she arguably dragged the whole fight down with her obsession with Gray. she only saved Meredy because she was about to kill Gray. And it was entirely JUVIA'S fault. If she could actually put her feelings for Gray aside in a very dangerous fight, Gray would never have been so close to die to begin with.

In GMG, she didn't care about her own guild's reputation, only to be with Gray. I'll never get over her LOSING A BATTLE IN WATER. she could have changed in water and force everyone out, but got distracted by Gray, again. her winning would have prevented Minerva from torturing Lucy. she was absent from Sun village. Only in Tartaros did she do something remotely useful by killing Keith. But that was only because he was a threat to Gray.

Also the whole fight against Invel in Alvarez was forced af. It's not indicative of juvia's usefuleness. Invel would have used anyone around."

My Two Cents

Huge thank you to @perfectlyimperfectcharacterfan (I'll refer to them as "Perfectly" for ease now in this post), a delightful regular on my blog who always comments insightful thoughts about juvia and gr///via on my posts, who sent this to me in a dm and allowed me to make a post about it!

They did an amazing job parsing through the arcs, and I really don't need to add anything, but I'll just slide in my two cents at the end here.

About the BOFT arc, one could say that juvia did manage to free her and Cana from Freid's spell, but as I've said before, that was just her earning brownie points, and she kept none of the alleged "character growth" from that. Plus in the end, it was Mirajane who had to defeat Freid anyway, so her "sacrifice" really was useless.

I love what Perfectly said about the Daphne arc. I completely and totally agree with them (and I actually have an old post about this exact topic here if y'all want to read it). I couldn't have said it better myself, that juvia blindly defended Gray despite his wrongdoings, showing how she really only "cared" about Gray and not the rest of the guildmates that got horribly hurt by his stupid mistakes. That's not trust, that's insane obsession that keeps her believing Gray is infallible and perfect no matter what he does, which is so toxic towards Gray and her and everyone around them.

In the GMG, like Perfectly touched on, juvia didn't care about the guild's reputation. she didn't care that for 7 years, Fairy Tail struggled, was bullied, was mocked, was actually oppressed by the other guilds into paying absurd taxes, because they lost their most powerful members to Tenrou Island. Not only that, but they mourned for years because their friends and family had disappeared, and they didn't know if they were dead or alive. All of this hurt and trauma FT went through couldn't matter less to juvia lockser.

True FT member my butt; she doesn't love any of them, not even Gray. she didn't care enough to actually try in the GMG, and she actually wished for her FT guildmates to get hurt so badly that they had to drop out so she could participate with Gray. The wickedness of her heart is astounding. And yeah, she totally whiffed what should've been the easiest match up for her in the water battle, leading to Lucy being abused just as Perfectly said, and she also threw the Hide and Seek match by being a "love" obsessed idiot as she always is.

And let's not forget that after the GMG during the dragon battle, juvia literally gets Gray killed because she's not paying attention to anything except for Gray as always, even in the midst of a life-and-death situation, and makes it so that Gray has to save her butt for her. I mean, how much worse could this ship get, when it literally causes one of them (the victim, even) to die needlessly???

On the whole note of juvia's uselessness, one could even go as far to say that juvia is an active hinderance and blight on the lives of the people around her. she really constantly oozes toxicity and sucks the life out of everyone she comes into contact with, most of all Gray through her manipulation and abuse, but also all the women in Gray's life, as well as her fellow FT members. she is a weak link, a liability, an impediment, a stone dragging down and drowning everyone, including herself. she will never notice or care about that fact because she gets what she wants in the end, what she thinks is good: Gray's brow-beaten, brainwashed "affection".

No one wins when they rely on her. she is a parasite.

Anyway, gigantic shoutout to Perfectly again for taking the time to think so deeply about all these things, for sharing their thoughts with me, and for allowing me to share them with all of you! juvia really is a useless character, and the Fairy Tail story and her guildmates would've been infinitely better off without her.

FT Next Gen Headcanons (Pt. 2)

Chimera Strauss, the daughter of Elfman and Evergreen Strauss.

She loved playing pretend and dress up with Deidre when they were kids.

Her bad habit is picking the dead skin off the sides of her nails.

Mourning doves are her favorite animal.

She wears reading glasses when needed.

Deidre, the eldest child of Bickslow and Lisanna Strauss.

She HATES finding hair on her tongue and starts to gag and cough for a good while.

She never bickers with her brothers, but does put her foot down when necessary.

Uses fruity scented perfumes.

She also hates animal print fabric and leather items.

Giacomo, the middle child of Bickslow and Lisanna Strauss.

He is so so nosy observant and notes what people do.

Never takes advice from others and regrets it.

He does not like smiling or even being in pictures, but is in them for his parents' sake.

He respects the entities he communicates or interacts with.

Perkeo, the youngest child of Bickslow and Lisanna Strauss.

He is the "baby" of Fairy Tail, for now, and he relishes every second of it.

He sleeps in a fetal position or on his back (like a mummy).

He never swears in front of his parents.

He speaks with a lisp.

Barnard, the only child of Erik or Cobra and Kinana.

Does not have close friends, or so he thinks, but he manages to get along with everyone.

Physical touch makes him uncomfortable.

He somehow sees the strangest moments occur within and outside the guild and no one believes him.

Not interested in romance.

Lianne Groh, the sole child of Bacchus and Cana Groh.

Her room and closet are disorganized enough that she finds items she believed she lost.

For comfort, she goes to her parents (who are emotionally present).

Her first memory is celebrating her fourth birthday surrounded by loved ones.

Refuses to be "boy-crazy" at her age (or ever).

And last but not least, Aneira Vastia, the child of Lyon and Meredy Vastia.

She does not like being called a liar or dishonest.

Her voice is squeaky and gentle.

Sees Gray Fullbuster like her uncle.

She smells like spearmint.

I could come up with more if asked to!

For Natsu, would he even know about it? I can see Erza, Mirajane, and Juvia making sure that no one in the guild tells him, or else. And that is just in the guild. Imagine Ultear and Meredy making sure that those outside the guild does the same thing.

Hope your doing ok 🥰 would it be alright if I request what if hcs for healer Happy please 🙏 ( he has so much potential and I wish we saw him do more things , maybe him even getting his own arc where he’s a healer and how he feels that Wendy is also a healer to , could be happy to have another pair of hands to help heal the team or angst that the team might not need him anymore👀)

Ohhhh healer happy. I remember mentioning it all the way in Phantom or TOH on this blog, okay, here I go,

Healer Happy would, to preface, separate himself from Wendy in the sense that he's a resourceful healer, while Wendy is a magic healer. This means he's the one to run to when you need bandages, medicine, herbs, heat packs, needles, etc. Wendy doesn't need those items because she can heal any of those (including sores, motion sickness, so she doesn't need any tools or home remedies) but since troia works less the more you stack, Happy continues to come through with warm ginger teas and massages. Or a wrench, or a hammer, or a fish! Or frozen peas. He also has scissors and hair clips and staples and anything you can think of that fits inside a very well-furnished first aid kit. He throws them at enemies when he's fighting, they all come out of his bag.

Whether his bag is an endless doraemon sack, or if he uses requip to seem like he's pulling ridiculous things out of his bag-- up to you. I think it's funny to see him pull a huge bag of ice out of his tiny bag and flip them over someone's head, goodbye

This gives me a fun idea, honestly-- he'd definitely hang around Porlyusica's place a lot. She hates humans, and I think that canonically extends to cats as well, but let's say it doesn't. (thinking about the jade dragon from GMG graveyard and maybe all dragons are silly tolerant with cats. Maybe that can be a trend. She is an Edo version of a dragon after all--) but anyways! Maybe he's her pseudo-apprentice of sorts, since she does the classic witchy potionmaking. ('Apprentice' as in he stares at her while she works, from some corner of the building or thorugh the window. And she gave up trying to chase him out.)

I'd imagine a sort of Dr Kureha and Chopper type dynamic. Maybe she's where Happy gets the knowledge from (Happy-sensei exposition duty,) she doesn't directly teach him anything, but he does learn a lot just from hanging around her house.

Which would mean the two people Happy are closest with both have pink hair hahaaa I kinda wanna see Meredy and Sherry learning this, thinking it's adorable, and trying to get into the club. I would think he loves sakura season because of the pink. There is... so much chopper similarity what the hell. Even Dr Kureha's catchphrase is 'ya happy?' and I'm obsessed with that actually. Reincarnation fic I need

I would imagine just like in battle, Wendy has less actual field knowledge. Which means we could have situations like setting bones properly before healing them (because healing them right away would fuse wrong and cause permanent damage). Or situations where Wendy can heal a contagious epidemic, but they have no idea where it comes from-- Happy would be able to realize it's a magic problem, or a virus, or a curse, and where it'd come from (animals, trees, sewage, etc.) We could also have Happy the therapy cat, where people go to him to talk feelings. We could address the PTSD or depression that's displayed in some characters. Maybe he's already helping them through some of it! Maybe he displays some of this when Edolas happens and it's the breakthrough that pulls Carla out of her darkness? And so on, and so forth.

I can imagine FT would take a more genuine direction with their injuries if there was a healer happy. The anime erases most of them, but I'd like to see Happy actually scolding people who are too reckless when injured (most of our boys,) needlessly causing injuries around in barfights (splinters are hard to get out! Hey!) or even refusing medical advice to go be stupid. (I'd like to see a situation where someone's stubborn for a mild injury, it gets worse, and becomes permanent damage. Eg Thunder Legion not bothering with persistent eye discomfort, only to figure out too late there's an infection and end up with blind/astig/photokeratitis/migraines. It could serve as a lesson for the rest and a character building moment for happy. Maybe something like that could even be in the BoFT, where Happy points this out to Lucy and that helps them win the fight.) I'd like to think we could include Loke in this group of people that Happy mother-hens the hell out of, because something's always been weird about him, Happy just doesn't know what.

All that doesn't stop him from maybe feeling a little obsolete or distressed about his role in the team once Wendy arrives, though. I feel he'll overlap with Wendy a lot, and if there was an arc about him, I'd expand on this. How-- well, by having Wendy and Natsu switch cats for a mission! (It'd be set right after Wendy joins.) It seems like Carla and Natsu are both headstrong, straightforward types, while in this AU Wendy and Happy are a little more humble, behind-the-scenes, and resourceful healers. This duality will make a fun shenanigans arc where they work together to find their flaws and differences and learn to appreciate both their original partners and their new addition to the guild. Wendy is still learning the ropes, so Happy gets to be 1. a big brother for once (he's usually baby of the family always) and 2. learn about finding individuality, confidence, and strength at your own pace. (Something Wendy is also working her way through, but from a different perspective from Happy.)
