Like Eli is a born wolf and the Hale and werewolf histories were obviously so important to Derek and now he gets none of that. Scott literally hates what he is how is Eli going to grow into a functional and happy werewolf with that as his guardian.

Teen wolf movie spoilers ahead!!

Did anyone else notice (and correct me if I’m wrong) that Eli never addresses Sheriff Stilinski? Like they have a decent amount of scenes together and Eli never said “Noah” or “Sheriff” or anything else that I noticed. Let me just say…. That boy definitely calls that man Grandpa and I will not accept criticism at this time.

I think what I hate most about the Teen Wolf movie is that there were at least three instances where Scoot was parenting Eli and basically stealing formative moments from Derek in an attempt to endear the audience to an Eli and Scoot relationship and prime us to accept Scoot adopting Eli….

Crime #1: growling in Eli’s face to get him to transform??? What dude? How does that even work when Eli faints at the sight of a transformation? And if it’s that easy then Eli should have transformed anytime Derek flashed his eyes. It’s so messed up because Derek would have LOVED to be there for his first transformation, even just partial, but it was ripped from him bc Scoot wanted to be Mr. Alpha badass.

And no, I don’t think Derek guiding Eli through his first beta shift makes it better because Derek should have had the opportunity to guide him from his very first shift and help him maintain that shift so he could do it at will.

And don’t try to tell me it was necessary because super strong and fast alpha wolves should be able to carry fifteen year old scrawny boys.

And super strong and fast alpha werewolves should be able to outrun their half dead ex girlfriend without breaking a sweat.

And don’t get me started on Derek being injured. Actually I will get started!

when you consider Derek was originally hurt bc Scoot didn’t just go after Allison with his fast werewolf speed or sniff her out with his super werewolf nose tells you all you need to know about Scoot and his connection to his werewolf. he won’t be a great wolf teacher BECAUSE HE DOESNT KNOW SHIT. And I am blaming him (for the reasons above) for Derek being injured in the first place, so Scott set the whole stealing Eli’s first transformation from Derek thing into motion.

Crime #2: Derek is basically begging Eli to practice with him, but Scoot is the one who gets to play with Eli?? No way. That’s stupid. I reject it

Crime #3: DEREK DIDNT GET TO WATCH ELI PLAY OR MAKE THE WINNING SHOT??? After he convinced coach to give him some time on the field?? Blasphemous.

ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING he was only prevented from doing so bc of some stupid shit that didn’t even really involve him?? Like none of that shit was his business???

It’s like Jeff is trying to make Derek seem like a bad parent who doesn’t know how to help his own son and Scoot is a natural born parenting genius. He posits all these moments of good parenting but gifts them to Scoot instead of Derek. Derek is trying and trying and instead of having even one scene where Derek and Eli aren’t being standoffish and frustrated, Jeffery attempts to give us some easy as pie, natural, buddy-buddy relationship with Scoot and Eli.

we were given crumbs for Derek and Eli’s relationship and it’s sick, really.

And I will never forgive Scoot for being tongue deep with Allison THE MOMENT Derek is BURNED TO DEATH (a crime punishable by life in prison)and RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS GRIEVING SON (have some class! You’re thirty or whatever!)

There are so many more crimes in this movie but I’m trying not to remember the movie at all, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Unfortunate but….

Jeff Davis killed off Derek Hale in the most nonsensical stupid way ever because Sterek was queerbaited for six long seasons. I have no doubt that Stiles would have bit it too had they convinced Dylan to include his fingerprints in the dumpster fire otherwise known as the Teen Wolf Movie.

Secondly, where TF was Peter during this mess?! I mean, I know he’s been kinda messed up since the original fire that killed the Hales but I think it would’ve made WAY more sense for him to get Derek’s son given he’s much more closely related than Scott “Maybe the Hales deserved to die” McCall and Allison “Zombie Girl” Argent(who’d been dead 15 YEARS). But they obviously want us to root for the “darling ready made family”. No. I’d rather watch paint dry. I mean they brought back Tyler Hoechlin and Ian Bohen for THIS? But apparently Tyler knew what was going to happen to Derek…?

Anyway, what happened to Derek reminds me of Supernatural and it’s queerbaiting by way of Dean and Castiel for 10 seasons. Then what happened? Those writers let Castiel say flat out on screen that he love LOVED Dean only to DIE a minute later. Like dead dead. That’s what happens these days now I guess.

Going through my edits on my yxkimura teen wolf but Kira focused Instagram fan account and I’m thinking Scira deserved so much better. I literally rewatch Teen Wolf up until Arden’s last episode and the more I rewatch the more I fall in love with Scott and Kira’s love story. I wish the writers wouldn’t let fans being harsh and mean influence their decisions because let’s face it, Scallison reuniting was forced and only happened because the writers wanted to give fans that can’t seem to let go, their own way. And because of that Arden suffered the most because of their decision.

The Movie

As someone who is a big Stiles fan, and appreciates a good Stiles-led fic.. the movie isn’t bad because Stiles isn’t in it.

The movie is bad because it should be a TV show season. It’s too complex for the timeframe. If it had been an extended film, like three hours, it could’ve been FINE. 

The movie is bad because it has so much going on in the worst way, half of the characters get left behind and nobody is happy about it.

The movie is bad because Jeff Davis’ writing is questionable at best sometimes, and he’s determined to have a more confusing timeline than fucking homestuck.

The movie is bad because the lore of Teen Wolf is inconsistent and every time something is established, Jeff Davis has to piss on it.

The movie is bad because it has so many plot holes and loose ends that I don’t think will ever be tied up in a way that is satisfying.

The movie is bad because Jeff Davis seems to have forgotten all the character development we got in season six.

The movie is ‘bad’ because some fans cannot accept that it has been roughly fifteen years since the end of the show in world (not including the time skip) and they don’t like that their favourite couples didn’t work out, even though that is realistic. (Sure maybe one would’ve worked out, like stydia maybe, but certainly not all of them).

The movie is ‘bad’ because some fans will not be satisfied unless it’s the Stiles Show.

Mason Hewitt. A deputy?? Are we talking about the same Mason Hewitt? I mean, I'm talking about the physics genius, the brains behind the puppy pack, the one responsible for that one ghost rider's capture, the boy who did extra credit but just ended up tutoring everyone else, the fucking mythology king that saved lives at 16, the high schooler with a 4.8 GPA... that Mason. I don't know who Jeff Davis made a deputy but it sure as hell is NOT Mason.

If this is just to fill the Stiles gap in the show I will riot, because Mason is SO much more than the Stiles to Liam's Scott.

On a side note, I actually adore the rest of the film - Allison coming back wasnt expected at all, and the new characters seem to be quite fitting as well. However, I think its important to note that an actress of color, Arden Cho, was denied equal pay, so she wont be seen in this movie. This is even more appalling when you realise that the whole Nogitsune storyline revolves around her, a Kitsune, as its foe. She was meant to be a main character, but still would not be paid the same as her predominantly white and male co-stars.

I adore Lydia as a character, but Holland's statement on this was just plain wrong and insensitive.

Derek Hale deserves so much fucking better, you fucking miserable piece of shit. It wasn't bad enough that he suffered so much trauma repeatedly - being targeted and sexually abused by Kate, feeling responsible for pretty much his entire family being burned to death, everything with Peter in s1 and having to kill him, being accused of MURDER and having to be on the run, losing Erica and Boyd, Jennifer targeting and sexually assaulting him, it just never fucking stopped... And the way you choose to end his story is to MAKE HIM FUCKING SACRIFICE HIMSELF IN FRONT OF HIS SON?? DEREK HALE DESERVED TO LIVE A LONG, HAPPY LIFE WITH HIS SON, NOT LEAVE HIM A FUCKING ORPHAN.
