Release Date: June 5th (Preorder)
My Experience: "Do Your Best & The Rest Will Come”
**I don’t usually talk in depth about my experience dubbing shows since I used to fear saying “too much” somehow. But I think there’s too little being said about these experiences and people genuinely want to know so here we go.
I was nervous about this show since its been so long since I played a main character, especially one that’s supposed to sing. And if you don’t know, we don’t really get much more time or any special editing done when it comes to singing in dubs (in my experience). My only option was to prepare as best I could and try and anticipate what songs they may need me to do aka. whatever tracks the Japanese studio doesn’t provide for us. So I came in every day with sheet music. Actual printed out sheet music I found and marked up the night before, trying to learn as many songs as I could in those couple of days we recorded. Most of the learning happened in the car as I drove to the studio or at 4am the night before.
I usually prepare as best I can for shows because I love anime (obviously) but, for this show, I also prepared because I was scared. It’s already scary enough to be in a dark booth, with only you and your thoughts, praying something good comes out of your mouth. You can’t often hear the director or engineer without them pushing the button, so you fill your head with assumptions about how badly you must be doing. After 5 years, I’m still nervous voice acting and now they wanted me to sing? And I felt that they really relied on me too. Wanting to meet those expectations, I tried to forget my fears of singing in front of others and how I’d avoided these moments my whole life. Contrary to expectations, I’m not confident in my singing and absolutely never call myself a singer aloud. There’s a reason I’m on YouTube (by accident) and not on stage anymore. But they offered me this part and I didn’t want to turn down another chance because of my low self esteem. So instead, I prepared as best I could and tried not to think any further.
I was lucky to be working with Shannon Reed as a director since we’re so alike in thinking and work ethic. He brought in notes on the show and we talked about motives, something we don’t usually get to do. Apparently he also went around the office and asked other fans of the show questions and which team they were on (Yuzu or Momo). There was an ungodly amount of work that was required for this show compared to others but I honestly enjoyed the hours spent. The breaks where I laid facedown in the carpet sweating while Shannon ran to grab me a drink. I feel like I can say we tried hard. Neither of us are considered veterans, we’ve no laurels to rest upon, but I can tell you that we genuinely cared and spent extra hours doing our best.
There’s not much more I can say about that. I rarely ever meet any other cast members since we all record individually so I’ve got no stories there. Hopefully everything comes out alright, it still feels like a fever dream. I’m terrified to watch it in all honesty, just like every dub I’m in, but I’m sure I’ll slowly get used to it someday.
- Thanks for reading!

Digital Fan Art:
Alice x Arisu
I drew Arisugawa Nino/Alice of Fukumenkei Noise last year but then I lost my interest in it. I just got it back 3 days ago and voila, I’m done! Haha. At last.
PS. I have a lot of sketches that needs to be colored though, and this was just one of them. 😭😭

Fukumenkei Noise is just so lit ❤❤ I've watched it's anime series and read the manga (which is still ongoing btw) and now I'm waiting for the live action. The songs Noise, Highschool & Canary were so good my ears couldnt stop listening to it. I do wish that in the LAM they'll sing it but then again Im all ears for new songs. Now with the plot 😁 Im actually a NinoxMomo shipper so yea this post is going to be a bit biased 😜✌. I really love how painful the story of Nino and Momo tho Yuzu's painful too but let's stick to the topic. Leaving someone you love for a certain reason and then leaving her again even if you want to be with her is just so lovely and at the same time painful. I love how Nino's character can shift from being naive and weird to a strong and powerful girl. She's strong alright, not many people can handle the pain of being left behind, Im just glad she's still a bit sane. For Momo and Yuzu, these two guys well, ahh Idk I wish they'll still be friends? kinda impossible tho esp. after all that pain but then again this is an anime were talking about. So yea basically Fukumenkei Noise just hyped up my ever so boring life. P.S. I love that scene when Momo smiled while looking at Nino's sleeping face 😍😍😍😍❤❤
