Some Exocolonist sketches!! (Is that how people shorten the name of this game? Cause I’m absolutely loving I was a Teenage Exocolonist but dammit it’s a mouthful of a title!)

I’ve done I think four or five playthroughs now? And still loving it, though I don’t know if I’ll be able to stomach purposely trying to get some of the bad endings, even though I know it gets you more lore.

I lied I'm a big fat liar I'm back with another question because this one just came to mind.

You said that Moon, as a nod to his tiki theme, is painted/meant to appear as though he's made of wood. Does that mean Sun is made to look like stone? :D

Ok ^this one on my end I still need to figure out because yes he is modeled after Aztec sculptures but they also painted their works it’s just over time the paint has come off. I will have to see what works best for Sun and his character, but could you imagine how absolutely horrifying it would be if Sun looked just like a stone statue!!!

A new guest arrives and every time they turn around that odd tall statue seems like it is slowly getting closer. Sun taking sneaky statues to the next level.

Also I don’t think I mentioned that this is what suns rays are based on

#i figured this would be better suited for a separate post continuing from here #I've had people get angry at me for giving Steve a proper strongman build - thus making him fat and muscular in the process #ive gotten people mad at me for making him his direct colorpicked skin tone. got told I made him ''the wrong color'' for it #got called slurs #got told i need to just ''take a joke'' when im getting right fully angry at people telling me im wrong for making his AU design that way #been quite literally told our art looks ''ugly as hell'' when people ran out of bigoted arguments #its all just getting really hard and really tiring to keep doing what i love when everyone is vocal about hating it #and very few people are vocal about liking it #i do art for me dont get me wrong. and people have been supportive.#but i cant help but wonder if anyone would have even cared about the mega ref at all if it hadn't been surrounded by people full of hate #its just hard to stay motivated and put my all into something that's gotten so much backlash for stupid reasons you know #i've been putting so much love into my work surrounding this AU lately. my writing and my art. for over the past year now #i try not to ask anything in return other than for people to just pay attention to it at all. give it a reblog #but the one time we have something out of it become popular its because people are stupid and bigoted #i dont care about numbers this isnt about that. i just care about returning the passion i put into the world.#if anyone wants to send anything my way feel free. i could use it #sorry for venting

I think every time a video game comes out they should sell just the character creation software and somewhere to save to model for a few bucks as a dress up game.

#I already believed this but I really really want to build my d&d characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 #but my laptop is 5 years old and I think that game might kill it #also I paid full price for the sims but I mainly just use it to design sims #they should also release the house design software as its own cheaper game #bc I never play the sims outside of those two things

i literally cannot wait until there is actually other life sim games like the sims that are actually publicly available to play!!! like Tiny Life is out now and i do definitely want to play it but... come 2024 we might have Life by You and perhaps Vivaland in our hands... also i am Really Really awaiting Paralives as well i am PRAYING for a release date to be announced. like i will exercise as much patience as i can but tbh ts4 is depriving me (i only have base game + my first pet stuff + desert luxe kit so i dont have 95% of the gameplay i want .) and i would love to just be able to have something else to play too??

IM INTRIGUED #finally . my friends can watch me build square houses in real time #i am still incredibly interested in Tiny Life tbh... i played the demo and its really cute 🥺#it really is tiny life... wow...#and its moddable!!!! plus since its pixel art i could probably pretty easily mod in custom clothes and hairs and stuff #life sims being moddable is so important btw like actually. i genuinely think since like #life sims are so open-ended and customizable by design that NOT having mod support is genuinely a HUGE downside #though of course ts4 also. doesnt have official mod support or modding tools which is a bummer but i mean #ive simply accepted that the sims series just. will never have official modding support #especially with the new one supposedly being f2p 😰#THIS IS NOT A SIMS 4 HATE POST I SWEAR its just . i really wish it was just a 40-60$ game #and all the dlc content was just INCLUDED in the base game for that price #i genuinely would be 100% okay with that price!!! sure its a bit expensive but like #COMPARED TO 1000+ USD FOR THE FULL GAME + DLC EXPERIENCE ITS . The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

I made some notes in a post earlier about how I thought Mankar Cameron deliberately let him and his kids be killed for the hero of kvatch to take the amulet. Now I'm very sure of it but also not because that would imply Bethesda were intentionally telling a thoroughly plotted out saga. Still, if The Elder Scrolls were a thoroughly plotted out saga it would make sense on a grandeur scale of things that Mankar deliberately set himself up to be caught and the amulet reclaimed if the plan wasn't actually for Dagon to take over Tamriel.

I just installed Skyrim on my Steam Deck and I installed Morrowind on my laptop and I have 500 other things I should and rather be doing but they're not happening rn.

EDIT: I keep coming back to the story telling and environmental design and social interactions of Oblivion and how it's not a well thought out and researched story but it's an odd way of interacting with a world that is a bare bones fantasy reflection of the u.s. in 2006 from the perspectives of people who didn't seem like they interacted with people that much. I just started up Skyrim again a few hours ago and it feels the same way but later as these same people get more exposed to life being chronically online.

I'm aware this doesn't sound like cohesive thoughts but my brain is fatigued but won't stop rotating oblivion inside it so I'm writing it down for now.

#the elder scrolls #skyrim #oblivion #morrowind #martin septim #hero of kvatch #Im not surprised the most focused on character and faction is LaChance and the Dark Brotherhood #Every npc in oblivion is so separate and distant and the towns have that capitalism alienation without the full elements to cause it #But the dark brotherhood has that fake family closeness full of people with the most violent thoughts that they act on #And that faction feels more fleshed out as if the rest of the world was designed for the brotherhood to act on their desire to kill #The game feels like the writing came from a angsty teen learning about world building to get the anger out #And i don't have a problem with that #But it makes me sad how some people will get upset about 'psychoanalysing' writers of a story which isn't what it is #It's analyzing the world through the various lenses of knowledge and concepts that the analyzer has to grasp the different perspectives bei #Shown #Just like how everything is political there is always something more that is being said when speaking
