#ok so mini rant session #i am doing a bit better today - little less distraught over getting fired from a job i thought i was doing pretty good at and i was trying #really hard and genuinely enjoying #and just more baffled because truly i had no warning and i was completely blindsided #i was in the middle of a 3 month trial and i would have a review at the end in which i would be offered a permanent position if it went well #and i thought i was making my way towards that! granted i was still making mistakes but genuinely not of such a great scale i thought it #called for my immediate dismissal #that being said i was still VERY MUCH IN TRAINING. i had only been there A MONTH AND A HALF learning COMPLETELY NEW SYSTEMS #and i was told that i had been there a few weeks already and that i wasn’t catching on quick enough. that there were some areas i was #understanding and others i just simply wasn’t #and i asked what areas specifically so that i could learn more and try harder #and they didn’t give me a specific answer.#ok and so. so. i have this insecurity.#that at first impression people will like me. that they may think i’m pretty or kind or funny or whatever #but then they spend time with me or get to know me and realize that that’s all bullshit.#that i’m actually not pretty and im mean and loud and selfish and lazy and rude and etc etc etc #MASSIVE fucking insecurity in that like that’s why i genuinely don’t have friends or a significant other #and that genuinely i’m just a Bad Person #and when i was fired? i was told ‘a persons true colours show after a few weeks’#so that’s MAJORLY fucking me up.#when i was hired i was boasted to about my boss’s hiring process and how she’s ’only been fooled twice’#and the morning before i was fired in a meeting my supervisor told everyone that i was doing quite well.#so yeah i truly had no fucking warning. at fucking all.#hurt and confused and angry and baffled and did i mention hurt #anyways if you’re still here i’m sorry i know this is not a good look for me

do y’all wanna know something funny. when I was in England I accidentally stumbled into finding my sister a boyfriend via @ilovevanillatea and her husband and it is something that has been so funny and good.

#It’s almost been two months so I can talk about it a bit more lightly #it’s had its ups and downs as far as it concerns me. because it’s another big change and one that sometimes feels so full of shadowy fear #and sometimes I have been [ shrieks in strangled anguish ] about it but also and at the same time. it’s been funny #and good. And I am delighted.#My wording is deceptive here —it was really Emma’s husband and Emma who led the charge here #because I showed up at their house and Jonny (Emma’s husband) was like : ‘do you want to date my friend [x]’#which was so funny. But over the course of the week we (and me for personal reasons) all sort of collectively shifted it over to Nina #and things have been going so great #and it has been probably the funniest and occasionally the most maddening outcome of my trip #(It is good. It’s just also complicated. as everything is!! I’m slowly learning how to deal when the women I love find men in their lives)#(I am very bad at it but I am invested in getting better and in learning how to be a true support)#ANYWAY. Finished bocchi all in one day👍very very good would highly recommend it for anyone who has seen clips/screenshots/etc but hasn’t watched the anime in full yet. It’s such a delight… such a fun time from start to finish and can easily be watched in a day. Very very funny with a lot of heart it’s so fun to cheer on bocchi…. I want her to be happy 🥹 loved how expressive the animation was

#surprised I hadn’t watched it sooner it’s so good….#reminds me very very much of eizouken which made me really really happy. and I’ve said it before but it reminds me a lot of spongebob….#a lot of the jokes land the same way and it reminds me a lot of the way they do one off visual gags it’s so fun #i love mixed media used for visual gags it’s so funny #bocchi…. the characters are all so charming and I love the way the rest of the cast bounces off of bocchi I love her a lot #I loved the music. it didn’t feel like anything crazy but I cannot stress enough that that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it. all of the music #was so fun!! i loved the end concert especially. as well as the street performance and kikuri’s performance with sick hack #I liked the bass in a lot of the show. I’m a bass enjoyer. i loved bocchis guitar as well #the bit at the end where she uses the glass as a slide… aaaaaITS SO GOOD #I liked the drums a lot as well. not much to say about them but the drums were very nice #very very very funny show very charming lots of delightful music. i enjoyed it a lot :^)

so it’s like. the significance of location and setting in the waking hours because the normalcy there provides good contrast but also establishes what “normal” looks like before the weirdness and unreality of the river creeps into it and starts eating it from the inside out. but also thinking about making those normal spaces liminal and weird in their own right is fun fodder for the brain. like okay lights out in the dorms and masato’s hanging off a couch upside down. the back of the school where there’s those vending machines tashiro was talking about, standing disgruntled reflected in the glass because he can’t make a decision on what he wants. school hallways during blue hour, walking away at a brisk pace because a lot was happening all at once. that kind of thing. have I lost you yet

explaining this to people is like. they aren’t my girlfriend, because we’re not dating. she is, however, my boyfriend. hope this helps

there are so many ‘best’ AUs and the ones I label as they best definitely change according to my mood but right now the BEST kind is the kind where the AU reveals that in different circumstances the two characters end up in completely opposite roles in their dynamic because the SOULMATISM of it all—the realization that these people respond EXACTLY the same way to things—THATS EVERYTHING TO ME RIGHT NOW

#OKAY YEAH THIS IS FUELED BY ME GETTING OBSESSED WITH THE PREMISE OF MY OWN WIP blablablah self obsorbed blablablah touch grass #DO I LOOK LIKE I CARE #the prev post about enemies who make each other who they are—YEAH I MEANT IT WHEN I SAID IT IMPACTED ME #BECAUSE THAT DYNAMIC IS SO GOOD #I’m obsessed with the character everyone sees as the darker one being CANONICALLY hopeful to a fault #being SO DRIVEN by the need to do good that it perhaps morally corrupts him beyond any return #and I’m OBSESSED with his counterpart being the OPPOSITE she said ‘yes I’m cynical what about it’ AND SHES SO RIGHT FOR THAT #and I’m OBSESSED with moving their interactions to a time BEFORE his hope was corrupted. BECause the thing is she can actually be #the very thing that turns his hope into reality.
