honest to god I truly believe we'll get Gregory and Vanessa remodels not only bc of evidence but because steel wool is clearly showing major quality upgrades in every aspect of their games and everyone knows their human models are subpar EXCEPT for Cassie's, and hers is an example of the new standard they have for themselves and their games. I cant see a world where their games improve this much and they update one characters model to match the major quality upgrades and not the others, especially when they're guaranteed to return one day as major characters (at LEAST Gregory but with Gregory comes vanessa)
it's not about favoritism for one character or the other at this point, it's about them gaining new people on the team and more hands on deck and that causing an insane jump in quality to their games and a new modeller. it's about the new quality standard for themselves and how that new modeller will change Gregory and Vanessa too to match so their improvement reaches everything and is consistent. it's honestly just a matter of if they show up soon at all to have a remodel be shown off not if they'll have one at all in my opinion

Bolts4Brains update 12/09/24
Where's the dinner triangle, I HAVE COOKED. 🗜💥🗜💥🗜💥
Walk cycle loop
Tumblr media
...Yeah this is why I was studying the VR 2 animations.
I have one drawing of Funtime Foxy I did a few years ago I really like, that I'm going off of for the music video.
Tumblr media
My favorite thing about drawing the variations of characters is styling their hair tufts differently. Og Foxy's is a lil messy, Mangle's is curly, Withered's is three scraggly wires, haven't drawn Nightmare Foxy in a while, and Funtime's is slicked back. I don't think I've ever drawn Rockstar Foxy, but he'd have a tiny bun with three pieces of hair jutting out from underneath.
Another thing I noticed upon further inspection of her model, the top of the snout is curved upward in the back, like a built in smile. The bottom jaw starts wider, and thins out at the end, and the top jaw the opposite.

Honestly it lowkey annoys me whenever people say that Michael has 'very little personality' outside of hunting down his father.
N like- on the surface, that seems true, but like. If you look deeper, that's... not really true?? Because there's a LOT that actually speaks to his character, but you have to be willing to catch onto the connections his character has
Like, for example, Michael has a very straightforward way of speaking. He's dry and sarcastic ("They thought I was you... [laugh]"), has a foreshortened sense of the future (the drawing of a gravestone in the security logbook), not to mention the dialogue of foxybro in fnaf 4. He doesn't beat around the bush, but he's bitter and dry and sarcastic. Even as an old man, his anger and cynicism towards Freddy's shows in his drawings, but he has a sense of humor (the exotic butters and casual bongos referenced in the logbook, not to mention the silly drawings), plus he's sentimental (as said before, exotic butters and casual bongos). Not to mention he's stubborn as shit, given he keeps coming back to Freddy's, even after 30 whole years.
A lot of people also really like to write Michael off as being stupid, for... some reason. The games really say otherwise; the fact that he tampers with the animatronics regularly, figured out what his father did and what happened to Elizabeth in less than a week, freed the dead kids, helped make FFPS and ran a business, likely Also made the fnaf 3 location too, knew what was gonna happen to him in SL (pretty clear given the fact you can ignore Baby's directions on the last night), can manage several animatronics at once throughout an entire night...
Michael is very clearly Really Fucking Smart. Smart enough that I'm willing to bet that was one of the reasons why William sent him to the SL bunker. Michael is FAR from an idiot, and the FNAF movie even proves this further! He's SCARILY smart!
There's a lot more too; him using a red foxy mask speaks a lot to his character too. Red is often used to denote everything from passion to anger (yknow, 'seeing red' being a term for when you're blind with rage), and he wears it the entire time he bullies CC. It's not just a literal mask, it's figurative too; Michael puts up a mask of anger, he pretends to be this scary bully. The cruelty isn't real, Michael is just the scapegoat and he's acting out (very very common).
Also, Michael is 100% who you play as in fnaf 4 based on the movement, and who rubs away in Midnight Motorist. CC is the type of kid to freeze up, curl up into a ball and cry when he's scared, as seen several times in fnaf 4. It wouldn't make sense for him to suddenly turn around and start running around, or fighting back. It's very Michael to run around, constantly looking around, or to break out and run away.
Another note on Michael's character is that he's associated with Foxy. The Funtimes are clearly modeled after the Aftons (Ballora and Baby are, why wouldn't the rest match CC (Freddy) and Michael (Foxy)?), and using that we can gleam some parts of Michael from FT Foxy (since William clearly was trying to mock and make fun of him with the angsty teen voice). FT Foxy is a performer; he's dramatic, he's vicious, attacking even when he 'shouldn't', and wants his stage solely to himself.
This fits Michael; Michael put on an act of viciousness and cruelty, always attacking when you least expected it. So it makes sense that Michael, too, is a performer, and FFPS hammers this in using the business bear. Again, the mask represents Michael acting, pretending, and it wouldn't be the first time an Afton would pretend (William, Elizabeth, and to an extent, CC). The rest of the Aftons are also theatrical and dramatic, so again, this tracks. He's also represented as one of those hand puppets in the ffps alleyway poster, something used to ACT.
And again, with Foxy, we can gleam that Michael likely is also a sort of 'leader' figure, since Foxy has been depicted as not just a pirate captain, but also as a Ringleader. This also tracks, not just bc the Aftons have a circus theme, but Michael is the eldest of his siblings, and thus the de facto 'leader'. He's the first to act, to put things into motion when everything 'ends'. Foxy is also, well, a fox, which are depicted as cunning and intelligent, which only lends credence to Michael being intelligent.
It's also implied that Michael... doesn't really care about people who Aren't his family?? Whether that's by blood or not, he doesn't care abt others who isn't his family. This is implied by the fact that he only cared about freeing Elizabeth, showing absolutely No care about the Funtimes despite them clearly being sentient. Not to mention the lawsuits he regularly gets in FFPS, or the state Fazbears Frights is in in fnaf 3. And, judging by Henry's final speech, he and Michael just. Don't seem to talk At All. At the very least they definitely don't communicate since Henry assumed Michael wanted to die (which is left Very Ambiguous).
Honestly this doesn't even BEGIN to get into everything that the Glitchtrap Michael theory says about his character that also hammer in all of these traits Even Further.
And like. Michael is SOOO much like William when you put all of this into perspective. Like, they are SIMILAR similar, but differ in ways that are important. Michael is a performer, an actor, he doesn't care about anyone outside of his family, he's stubborn as fuck, he's smart as hell, he's sarcastic and dry, etc.
He has SO. MUCH. CHARACTER. You just have to dig a little- this is ALL gleamed from the games and Security Logbook. There's more if you believe he's Glitchtrap- which he very likely is.
Just... it's nuts. He's such an intriguing character, he's not perfect and he's morally gray, yet people love to dumb him down to "hehe sad uwu arsonist zombie boy who's also Stupid"
Please just let Michael be a problematic old man (he was born in the 60s ffs, he's almost in his 60s by the time ffps rolls around).

FNaF World: The Funtimes are completed!
After a lot of blood, sweat, and gears, I have finally completed my Adventure versions of the Funtime animatronics!
I completed the first two in my previous posts... Circus Baby (And Bonus Stuff) Funtime Freddy
So I'll only be posting the two I've just completed, starting with Funtime Foxy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Originally I didn't want to make a new Funtime Foxy, I felt like the original FNaF World's Funtime Foxy stood on its own. However, after some careful consideration, I realized that the one from the original game didn't have hurt animations, as that's a liberty I alone have taken. In order to give Funtime Foxy a hurt animation, I was already going to have to recreate them anyway, so I figured I might as well overhaul them to better fit their actual design. I now consider FNaF World's Funtime Foxy to be specifically a "fixed mangle" incarnation, and not representative of the Sister Location character.
And now - last, but not least - Ballora!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, normally I don't particularly care for Ballora's design. She's kind of a misfit when compared to the other animatronics. But working on this model has given me a new appreciation for her design's unique brand of creepiness. Her hurt animation is inspired by Scott Cawthon's Steam post, within which he explains that when Ballora is off her "track", she crawls around like a spider. I figured that her switching to "off-track" mode served as a good visual metaphor for her being caught off guard by an attack.
Modeling Ballora was a challenge, as she's probably the most humanoid character in all of Five Nights at Freddy's, and I had to figure out how to cartoonify her. Despite that, she turned out pretty great in the end. She has a reasonably canny face, and she emotes well with just her eyes.
Now that these two are done, the Funtime animatronics are complete, and so is my third row of characters. Here's a fun render with all of them as a celebration!
Tumblr media
Thanks for checking out my art! Stay tuned for more down the road. Catch you on the flipside!

Sims 4 - FNAF CC: Glamrock animatronics + random cc pack!
Happy 10 years FNAF! This is a random collection of props/animatronics I tried to get converted today. No set is complete, but at least you'll have some extra stuff to play around with!
Fair warning: These are high poly-count [LOD0 roughly 10-15k per model] - I tried my best to lower it down, but only so much I can do at my skill level.
FNAF models are especially bad with this because of all the smooth surfaces and endoskeletons. I tried my best to lower it just before the model starts to collapse, but it's still high. I'm not skilled at retopology enough to downscale it past this point though.
Tumblr media
Includes:
Glamrock Roxanne Wolf/Roxy Animatronic Deco
Glamrock Freddy Animatronic Deco + No Mic/Idle version (updated from older cc)

High LOD/polycount [LOD0 roughly 10-15k per model] - no matter what I can't fix this - I'd recommend not using too many of the models at once or play on a lower LOD setting if you're having frame stuttering.

Welcome to another round of W2 Tells You What You Should See, where W2 (me) tries to sell you (you) on something you should be watching. Today's choice: 악인전기 / EVILIVE.
Tumblr media
EVILIVE is a 2023 Korean crime drama about a mild-mannered middle-aged lawyer who becomes convinced by a beautiful tall mob boss that he is tired of being nice and does want to go apeshit.
I'm going to try real hard not to do the "[guy who has only seen Beyond Evil, watching a second Korean drama] this is giving Beyond Evil vibes" thing, but you have to admit up front that comparisons are inevitable. Both of them are tight, emotionally charged dramas with a lot of blurred lines about right and wrong, and both star the absolute acting powerhouse that is Shin Hakyun playing against a gorgeous younger man who sexually threatens him a lot.
However, EVILIVE makes Beyond Evil look warm and fuzzy. The series is tight, violent, messy tale of what happens when bad choices are the only choices left to make, but you lean real hard into them anyway. So especially if you're a fan of Infernal Affairs, The Gangster, the Cop, and the Devil, and/or other homoerotic East Asian crime-and-punishment media, let me give you five reasons why I think this ten-episode series is worth your time.
1. Daddy's home
But which one of them is Daddy??? Well, that's part of the fun. See, one of the characters is older and more composed, but also clearly the economically and hierarchically subordinate of the pair; the other is younger and has spent more time obediently submitting to his crime bosses, but has all the money and wields all the power in any room he walks into (and also uses every inch of his 6'2" frame to do it). So whichever one you think deserves that title, you're right.
Tumblr media
Watching Shin Hakyun in a couple other things, I realized how often he's cast as a sniveling, pathetic, nerdy boy-man -- and he makes good use of that experience here. His Han Dongsu starts off as a wet paper towel of a person. They put that handsome fellow in the worst possible haircut a Korean man is allowed to have by law, frumped him up in some ill-fitting suits, and left him out in the rain for a couple scenes. It'd be criminal how much they nerfed his hotness if you didn't know from the start he's got a glow-up coming.
Tumblr media
And it's a perfect contrast to the tall, lanky, and always slightly underwashed Seo Doyeong, played perfectly by Actual Runway Model Kim Youngkwang. Equal parts sleepy-eyed and vicious, Seo Deoyeong is a perfect handsome thug. He too looks like a lion who asked a good fairy to turn him into a beautiful Japanese lesbian, only his good fairy missed slightly, but the results were still pretty great.
And oh boy, does he want to fuck that old man in half.
Tumblr media
There is a lot going on in this show, but the core dynamic is the weird dance between these two as Seo Doyeong opens the door to the criminal underworld and Han Dongsu makes the choice to step through it. The Korean title translates roughly to 'Villain Story,' so you know from the start this is going to about one guy looking at another and going, I can make him worse. And then he does.
I know there are those of you reading this right now who like it when those boys get rough with one another. I am here to tell you that EVILIVE does not disappoint on that front. If you consider stabbing someone a love language, this to you will be romance.
2. The TENSION
And I don't just mean the sexual tension, though, as my previous point noticed, there sure is a whole lot of that.
Tumblr media
EVILIVE is not an easy feel-good funtime show. The very first scene (a flash-forward) involves seeing a character get stone-cold murdered by another character. This show features Legitimately Bad People Who Do Legitimately Bad Things. You may want some of them to get away with it because you like them for other reasons! But you know that geting away with it gets less and less likely every time you see them do yet another Legitimately Bad Thing.
Tumblr media
The general shape of the plot is that a deeply stressed normie man who has been repeatedly fucked over gets a chance to strike back against the people and organizations that fucked him over by going to work for a violent mobster -- because all the systems that were supposed to help him are deeply corrupt and run by people arguably even worse than said violent mobster. So you don't even get the moral high ground of saying that Han Dongsu should have done things the right way because, motherfucker, he tried. He tried doing things by the book, and all that got him was a bunch of debt and humiliation. Worse, it got his loved ones a bunch of debt and humiliation to go right along with his.
Tumblr media
Yeah, you notice I call him "normie" up there, and not "normal"? Han Dongsu is not a normal guy. Maybe he was, once, a long time ago, but life broke him very badly. Now he's trying to do what all the nice people say he's supposed to do, all the while being a bottled-up rage monster beneath the surface.
That's where Seo Doyeong comes in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do think the back half of the show is unevenly paced, to the point where I don't think it should have taken your full standard sixteen episodes of a regular-sized Korean drama, but I definitely think it should have gotten more than ten. The show kind of handwaves over months-long stretches of time that I very much would have liked to see play out, especially to watch Han Dongsu and Seo Doyeong bounce off one another some more.
If I were to put on my tinfoil hat, I would say that you would have to fast-forward over those stretches, because if you did show the extent of those boys' interactions during those periods -- enough to give some later events in the show the gravity they deserve -- things would quickly get unsustainably gay.
Tumblr media
All right, all right, I know I'm calling things gay again, but how gay is it?
Well, to some degree, only as gay as these things ever are. I mean, you know the genre, so you understand the inherent sexiness of busting the lip of a guy you have a complicated life-or-death relationship with. If one of them were a girl, there'd be no question about what we're looking at here. (See: the Butch and Sundance digression in point 5 of my Sand Sea rec post.) You pretty much can't create the intense dynamic needed to sustain this kind of story without getting into at least a little unintentional homoeroticism.
Except I don't think it's entirely unintentional, and for that, I'm going to point (again) to Seo Doyeong.
Tumblr media
When we first meet Seo Doyeong, he claims to have a girlfriend -- but then we actually meet her, and she's everyone's girlfriend but his. He never shows any interest in women. He never mentions romantic or sexual histories with women. I don't think he even interacts substantially with any adult women, minus one critical scene. Actual Runway Model Kim Youngkwang playes Doyeong like he clearly has the 'fight' and 'fuck' sections of his brain cross-wired, and he is always spoiling for a fight.
Now, of course, we are getting into the murky territory of 'just because a guy doesn't express interest in women doesn't necessarily mean he's gay!' Which, you're right, it doesn't. But when said guy is spending damn near every scene looking like somebody's about to get their dick sucked, yeah, it kinda does.
Tumblr media
Wait, did I say we weren't talking about sexual tension? Well, that's fine, because there's still lots of high-stress surprises left! I've already made allusions to some of the general shapes of the narrative, and I'll make even more before this rec post is through -- and I don't feel like those are spoilers, because you can know the trajectory of the story and still find yourself holding your breath about what's going to happen next. It's like Breaking Bad! You know he breaks bad! That's not a spoiler! It's in the title!
EVILIVE's plot exists in a tangle of warring organized crime factions, all the bosses and goons vying for power inside said factions, the politicians they've paid off, the lawyers who know all their secrets, the businessmen trying to maximize their profits through illegal enterprises, the corrupt law enforcement agencies trying to make the conclusions fit their preferred narratives... What I'm saying is, it's going to get messy.
Tumblr media
Oh, and there's also the one honest cop who's onto them, so, you know ... good luck with that.
3. Baby brother. Baby.
Every tragedy needs collateral damage. EVILIVE's comes in the form of Han Dongsu's dipshit younger half-brother, Han Beomjae.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
God's perfect failure to launch, Beomjae is an underachieving doofus who has some real computer smarts, but lacks the ability to get his shit together in any meaningful fashion. Dongsu has taken care of Beomjae pretty much their whole shared lives, and now he also takes care of Beomjae's precious daughter, Minhui, who lives all but full-time with Dongsu and his wife.
I like that Beomjae's not some perfect angel either. Pretty much the first thing we do is see him scamming a customer at his part-time job so he can earn some extra cash. He's sweet and earnest, but he's also absolutely capable of taking advantage of situations to get by. When he's lying to customers about the price of refurbished hardware, that's one thing. When the big brother he'd do anything for gets wrapped up with a mob boss, that's quite another.
Tumblr media
The show is kind of fuzzy about what the age difference is between them. Shin Hakyun is nearly twenty years older than Shin Jaeha, Beomjae's actor, but we get one little flashback when we see the boys together as kids, and there they look like they're maybe five and ten. I'm going to call bullshit on the flashback and go with the actor ages, because to me it definitely makes a big difference in Han Beomjae's character if he's supposed to be thirty and has been managing being a single dad -- and mismanaging everything else about his life -- since he was twenty.
Beomjae's a gentle little disaster, a petty fuckup who's used to getting by on petty crimes and trying his best (which is not very good). He is not a bottled-up rage monster. He does not want to go apeshit. He wants a mild-mannered existence, scraping together what he can to make a, well, mostly honest living for himself. Unfortunately for him, he's wound up in a genre that doesn't reward honesty.
Tumblr media
Shin Jaeha turns in a solid performance here, especially considering his part is more understated than a lot of the others. Most of the time, he's sharing the screen with at least one of two real heavy hitters, but he holds his own. At first, I thought Beomjae was going to be annoying and exhausting, little more than a burden on Dongsu, but he turns out to be wonderful -- and because this show is the kind of show it is, you know eventually that's gonna hurt.
4. It's just beautiful
Ugh, this is the point where I have to get mad about how few screenshots there are of this show to poach from the internet, because it's lovely. The folk behind the camera are quite talented, and shots are framed and lit so well.
Here, I'm going to do my best with what's out there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean, yeah, this show gets a cheat in how Actual Runway Model Kim Youngkwang is so gorgeous that you can't really get a bad shot of him. But the camera knows how to lean into his menace so effectively that it uses his natural resources perfectly.
Also, the posters they did for the main three are stunning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I actually think this beauty is not just an incidental charm, but a key feature of the show. As I've said a couple times now, this show is quite violent. The violence, however, is presented in a way that is both lovely and awful at once, so you have something worth looking at even during the brutal scenes that isn't just ceaseless human misery. This is especially important to me because I'm pretty squeamish about violence! While I had to look away from the screen more than once (scenes with severing and breaking fingers in particular), I always kept wanting to look back.
Also! This show is set in 2008, which means it's got a cool recent-past vibe to it. Pretty much everything looks modern, except all the technology and cars are just out of date. It's a neat effect.
5. It resists an easy moral
Ah, we're back to Beyond Evil! You knew it was coming. Anyway, Beyond Evil ends -- and I'm saying this in as unspoilery of a way as possible -- with the people who did bad things getting punishments suitable to the level of badness they did. It's a show that skates the edge of copaganda but avoids it because of its steadfast belief that power and privilege should not insulate you from the consequences of your actions. Through this belief, it creates a story about a fantasy world in which power and privilege do not insulate you from the consequences of your actions.
Ha ha ha oh boy that is not EVILIVE's take on things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EVILIVE exists in a world of extensive corruption and collusion between organized crime, politicians, and businesses -- and that world is very real. I remember when the South Korean president declared martial law last month, which prompted an immediate oh hell no response from pretty much everybody in the vicinity. A lot of non-Korean people were asking online how a country whose citizens seem so cool and action-oriented keep electing a bunch of absolute shitbags. And the answer seems to be, the whole system is jaw-droppingly corrupt, which means all the candidates are shitbags. You must be this shitbag to play. There is no non-shitbag option.
So it's not like Han Dongsu and Seo Doyeong are inventing some new kind of crime here. This is not the tale of how two bad dudes disturbed a pure and perfect ecosystem. It's a story about how, when presented with the choice of becoming the abuser or staying the victim, the "moral" choice is not the easy one.
Tumblr media
I don't even think you can draw an easy conclusion about "oh, back when he was poor, at least he was happy and had friends!" because no he wasn't! His lack of money created so many problems for him and everyone around him! He has moments of happiness and togetherness, but they are vastly overshadowed by the grinding horror of his day-to-day life and the way it keeps him from being able to provide for or protect his loved ones. And he's haunted the whole time by the knowledge that the reason everything is so fucked up in the first place is that, once upon a time, he tried to do the right thing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The real villain of the show is poverty, with a henchman of how it's so much easier to join a bad system than it is to challenge it. If anything, I wish the show had been a little more upfront about that, because I think that it's subtle about it to the point where it's easy to take away a shallow 'wow, bad things happen to people who do bad things!' lesson. That's not what it's saying. Yes, bad things happen to bad people, but sometimes good things happen to bad people. Actually, frequently good things happen to bad people, because the bad people do the things that make enough money to keep the bad things from happening to them. And bad things happen to good people because the good people don't have enough money to keep the bad things from happening to them. And if you're going to end up suffering either way, why not choose the way that also lets you live in a really nice house?
...I mean, okay, I guess there is at least one easy moral here, and that is DON'T GAMBLE ONLINE, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, JUST SET YOUR MONEY ON FIRE, IT'S FASTER
Ready to play ball?
For some reason, EVILIVE is not available on your regular streaming services. MyAsiaTV was how we were watching it, except that between episodes eight and nine (argh!), whatever external site they were hosting the videos on went kablooey for me. I'm leaving the link there because maybe it'll work for you? However, in searching for a replacement, I found that this DailyMotion account has the episodes as well, and has had them uploaded for over a year now, so perhaps that's a more reliable source. Whatever works for you!
In both cases, the subtitles are absolutely fine -- definitely some hiccups and typos here and there, but on the whole they're fine. They are, however, bowdlerized to the point of hilarity. You get scenes where these blood-covered gangsters are stabbing one another, and the subtitles have them yelling things like, "You jerk!" Which adds to the experience, but maybe not in a good way.
Anyway, watch it, then come back here, and we'll go together to see what AO3 has in the way of fix-it fic, okay?

More information about these sculpts (aka down the rabbit hole) after cut
The coloration of the models in my shots were based off the My Little Puppy "Pretty Poodle" family, but models were reused for other sets
Tumblr media
For example, Sweet Spaniel family had the "blue poodle" model but a unique sitting spaniel, although it looks like the proportions + ears are the same as the other two
Tumblr media
And then the next release had the "Funtime Spaniels" set which had the same poses but was more colorful, and also the puppies with the other "mom dog" sculpts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The website Toysisters, where I got the above photos, mentioned that the entire second line of My Little Puppies is hard to find so I looked them up and
Tumblr media
This was the only My Little Puppy 2nd year release I could find and its a single figure for $75.
Also in the 1980s hasbro purchased the rights to a Barbie competitor (originally made in the UK) called Sindy and reused some of the pet molds in pajama party packs:
Tumblr media
And this one also sells for a lot and isn't really available in many places

I don't bring up the prices, btw, as a critique of vintage toy collecting or anything. I don't make these models because I think people should just make new ones all the time. I /like/ that we're preserving old toys.
Rather, I hope my sculpts are used for collectors who have part of a collection and can't find a real vintage one, or people who think it is sweet and want to make a custom one (like they could do their dog or just a fun new thing). It's just for fun and not a replacement
I think what really disappoints me about all the lil'litters characters is they don't have the colorful marks like the ponies. If you didn't know, the original pony marks were made to imitate the marks on an appaloosa horse
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And to me, while they aren't the only reason the ponies did well, they're definitely one of the things that makes them unique, like the carebears stomachs or strawberry shortcakes' fruit hat
Tumblr media
Like they made a dalmation dog and they didn't even give it like... heart shaped spots. Huge missed opportunity there imo.
Also they did the siamese in reverse dark-light colors and iut looks like a fox. Siamese cats don't work this way, they gotta be darker around the tips for a reason.
Tumblr media
Hasbro did release a line called Little Pretty that had a similar conceit, but I find the sculpt of the toys... underwhelming. They look more like Proto-Littlest Pet Shop to me than My Little Ponies:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The one on the left is supposed to be a dog and I only figured that out because she has no ears, just hair...
I much prefer the Lil Litters sculpts, they look more detailed and unique to me, and more similar to the OG MLPs
Tumblr media
the My Little Kitty / Lil Litters were actually released concurrently with the Little Pretty line, both around 1990, so the discrepancy in artstyle feels really weird. but also it's just such a weird choice to create two similar looking brands to me? I don't... get it.
This was also year 9 of my little pony so the brand was going wild with the ponies and its interesting to me how plain and early-years the dogs+cats were in comparison
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
they were giving the ponies neon colors, false eyelashes and built in pockets and decided that their other animal lines would just be... different colors.
anyways my send-off is here are the first releases of lil litters:

I gotta say, after seeing some of the things said about the clip shown of Foster’s Funtime at the Annecy festival, I’m not impressed. Firstly, Bloo canonically loves celery, so why the heck is he telling the other friends adults will make them eat things like broccoli? (I mean I get it, I hate broccoli too,) but once again, he seems to be given pessimistic tendencies, which can be very Bloo like— but this time, they’re on an even worse scale. I would love to see him actually take on the role of a proper mentor while just being the fun, hilarious older role model to these friends. To redeem himself. But unfortunately, I don’t think that’s what we’re gonna get. I think we’re just going to get Bloo being a pessimistic baby who’s humour is broken. I wish we could see the clip for ourselves, but I doubt we’ll see anything like that until next year.
I honestly fear Bloo will not only lose his boldness and flair, but that he will become a worse version of his old self. Nothing I’ve heard so far is promising, aside from the fact Craig wanted to make this for younger children who are still too young for the original, which is special, but there’s still previous generations riding on this series. Seeing Bloo go completely backwards would just be so incredibly disappointing.
Not saying I don’t trust Craig’s vision, but I highly doubt anything could ever come close to the original, especially if Bloo will be anything like I fear he will be. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Still no mention of a release date or anything so hopefully we still have a bit of a wait until I’m completely horrified.

Got asked by @zukkaart to tag them when I post about my ATLA x FNAF a.u so here you are-
So basically, I had this idea come to me on a walk one say and was like"yah, gonna combined my childhood special interest with my cureent special interest of seven years"
So I started writing down some stuff for it on paper and I'm gonna post the basic stuff of the a.u here first.
First things first. Roles.
So I feel it's obvious to make Ozai William Afton but I decided to make Hakoda Henry Emily.
Then as you might of guessed, Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph and Zuko are the missing kids.
But also the animatronics yk? But the animatronics are themed after their show counterparts while the children look like kids from the 80s, basically their child counterparts in 80s kids clothes.
Originally, the only animatronic was Aang, Aang's character is a mix of the Puppet and the spring lock animatronics since he's a spring lock suit due to being the oldest animatronic there. He also glows in the dark, which looks like the Avatar State, he also has a built-in music box.
Katara and Sokka's endoskeletons are modeled like the FNAF 1 animatronics, the robots where designed by their father to look like them after they went missing due to his grief.
But after creating them, he felt so guilty he killed himself, blaming himself for their death - this is based on Henry killing himself in FNAF World after creating Charlie to replace Charlotte.
Toph's robot was created through a partnership between 'Beifong's Robitics and Design', the robot was a slightly more advanced endoskeleton and system compared to the Water Tribe Siblings - her model would eventually be upgraded and used for the Toy Vers. Of the gaang.
Toph was easily led away due to being blind, she lost her mother in a big party hall and was taken to the back room and killed ofc by Ozai.
Zuko on the other hand is more complicated, Ozai actually planned his murder and actually designed the robot to look very similar to him after becoming aware the souls can be trapped within the animatronics. He wanted to make him suffer.
Zuko's model is like the Funtime Animatronics with a very intelligent AI, moving faceplates, and 'child capturing and luring protocalls'. Ozai used Zuko's soul to make his greated creation 'more life like'.
So, for attack patterns.
Sokka and Katara's attack patterns are simple and similar, Katara comes from the right door, Sokka the left, but they tend to work together, if you see one, the other isn't far behind.
Katara, if coming up to the door, tries to make herself less known while Sokka likes to announce his presents.
Now, Katara is most likely to take her time to get too your office, she won't attack if your looking at her but this is normally due to the fact Sokka will eventually come to the other door around the same side to distract you with a joke, if you turn your attention away from Katara to deal with him without shutting the door (for some reason) she'll jumpscare you.
I like to think when you shut the door in Sokka's face he knocks on it saying 'Knock Knock' and then he gets no response he dead ass just says "tough crowd" before walking off haha.
Toph doesn't usually leave her stage unless alerted by loud noise. The sensors in the floor lead her to your office, and she'll climb through the vent above your monitors. Shut it she'll get bored and go away.
Zuko is the most aggressive, there's actually metal shutters over the windows you can shut as well as the doors and vent due to the fact he will do ANYTHING to get into the office, he broke through the window once and yk killed ur man.
So shutters where put in. He'll get most aggressive at the end of the night.
Aang, on the other hand, won't get aggressive unless the power goes out. He can clearly tell that the night guard isn't Ozai, but when the lights go out, it messes with his vision and causes him to attack in defence, reliving his last moments all over again as he had the most prolonged and painful death.
Although I am thinking of making Azula take the role of Michael, trying to free her brother and undo her fathers mistakes yk? Idk thk
If I think of anything else I'll add to this a.u!

Bolts4Brains Update 1/31/25
Expect me to babble about every detail whenever I post a 2 second WIP.
This is the Paranormal Powerhouse Chica solo of Bolts4Brains. It was really vivid in my head. I just used the instrumental. There's no lipsync here. If anything, it's more synced with the beat.
As you can clearly see, I only have Ballora's roughs done. Funtime Freddy is warning her of the technician's presence.
Her normal spin before she whips around like "what!" at Freddy was a bit tricky, but then I remembered her spin from SL is a straight-on full body animation. It's mostly a silhouette, but there are indicators of which way she's facing. So I pulled the frames I needed and used them for reference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You may or may not have noticed the way I drew her neck.
Tumblr media
Her neck casing is very segmented, and her actual endo neck is a bit of a complex shape. So in my cartoon translation, I turned it into a sort of shirt collar. The fancy kinds that flare out in the back. I may or may not close the gap in the plates. The one right before her neck starts however, I'm keeping and just coloring in black. Her endo neck will just be funny tube shape.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I simplified her hair beads to a one-shape tiara that, realistically, would be held in with a comb.
Tumblr media
It's very easy to want to draw Ballora's skirt like a normal tutu, because yknow, ballerina. But her skirt is even more a simple shape than Baby's. I'll only draw the skirt on a compete X-axis if it's a squash frame. I also got rid of the puffball extenders. [Remember, I'm going for model accuracy with a few tweaks to make it cartoon friendly.]
Tumblr media
Man I thought the paper sketch for the storyboard was good, lmao.
It was important I pull this expression off, because her face is built for a smile. I don’t want to the animatronic's expression to carry too much facially. They have to be robots in ways other than design. I'll break this rule entirely if it's for one big expression, as shown here. Rarely will I make their mouths move like humans.
This is pretty self explanatory.
Gotta change a couple'a things, but Ballora has the easiest endo face to cheese. All those wires are on points of expression. You can tell I did it from memory, because I defaulted to Ennard around the nose bridge. You might be surprised Ennard isn't the easiest for me, but that's because his weird mouth and jammed-in eye make for some perspective obstacles.

here's the thing about playing around with generative "ai" aka applied statistics based on stolen data: even if it's just for teehee haha laughs and funtime for you, even if you're not using it to replace real talent in a professional setting, it's a tacit endorsement of these shady as fuck, unethical training models and companies that will happily use your teehee haha generated memes to sell their tech to others who will then happily replace real creative people with technology that seeks to undermine them and then have to rehire those people at half the pay and with none of the credit to fix the absolute sludge they're generating in place of a proper job. and that's the optimistic outcome because the alternative is they say "good enough" about this meaningless, lowest-common-denominator sludge and send it out to consumers as is.
even if you're just the consumer in this system and not one of the creatives getting undercut, why in the world would you want to read or watch or interact with something that no one could even be bothered to make themselves? why in the world would you want to encourage that future?

Lowkey been really fucking obsessed with the Fazbear Toddler Fun analog horror series for days now and I hate it cause it is utterly phenomenal in ways that just look goofy af to anyone who isn't incredibly in tune both with authentic recreation of niche video game visual tropes and the narrative significance of the Five Night's at Fredsy's chronology.
The final sequence of the last episode has unparalleled levels of attention to detail in replicating every ounce of old edutainment game tomfoolery, and to top it off it does not even stumble for a second in using that to tear the game's in-universe existence and the protagonist apart.
Cause its not just the period accuracy of IRL video games but the timeline of in-universe Freddy's locations and rebrands. Like it's actually a choice that the characters are based around the FNAF2 location cast, just with Foxy as well likely cause he was so iconic and The Mangle (adorably adapted as "Funtime", Foxy's little sister) wouldn't cut it. You can actually assume this is a late 90s game in context of being after the brands peak in the 80s, or honestly if you're weird like me you always got a very 90s vibe from the Toy Animatronics and assume this game was in tandem with THAT rebrand. OK OK BUT EIRHER WAY. The game as a vapid attempt at a rebrand borrows its cues from the most dramatic and vapid canon rebrand, and it makes every call back to the original tragedy sting so much more.
FNAF2's location has always been one of the furthest away from the Bite of '83 and original MCI, with the FNAF1 location existing more directly in its shadow cause it's where the story was first told even if it's ironically furthest from it. The sort of grunge and shoddiness that defines the atmosphere of the other tragedies is not present there, and its abysmally short run (canonically was only open for weeks as every other returant was assumedly for years) gives it a certain innocence and purity to it. The Toy Animatronics did not have the time to accumulate that physical and metaphorical rot which pervades the brand through the felt animatronics. They were literally retired and revived to carry the legacy of that pain, but the Toys were a genuine - and short-lived - attempt to almost fully separate.
But this all to fucking say - when the ghost of the crying child uses the games stupid little movie maker to tell the story of his death, and when he snaps the misshapen model of Fredbear atop the shiny new Toy Freddy on that stage... it's fr. It's so fr. It's so "how dare you think you can escape..." how dare you think you can run from that past while tracking prints - while not truly letting go.
It gets SO WELL at that angle of corporate whitewashing and greed that is the ONE THEME in FNAF, to the point I can (almost) forgive it for its demonization if Michael. Because he ties into it to. Oh you think it's just cute and a little messed up that they tried to overwrite the tragedy of my death? You think it's just a spooky little game to come back here, to this complete mockery and erasure of my pain? The way that you said you were sorry but I knew you never were? Like fucking christ man.
The magic of obtuse storytelling methods is how they can thread together odd symbolism and ideas into a story in a way something straightforward cannot. Stories of haunting are fascinating because it allows for the expression of harsh and terrible emotions through manipulation of symbols, and I love when internet horror takes that to the umpteenth level in the found footage/found game subgenre by twisting those symbols of the truly light and unassuming in media even when it's goofy af.
When you're dealing with death of children at a bootleg Chuck E Cheese you're most realistically going to get a Chuck E Cheese style haunting, but the point is to embrace that. Find the perversity of something that is supposed to be so light and childish being forced to bare a heavy, meaningful pain. For a model of a crusty dancing bear in a CG point and click game to be the most chilling graphic imaginable.
