Finally remembered to post my headcanon designs for Sector V! Details following:
Nigel: added short half gloves because they're ✨cool✨, big pockets on the sides of his shorts, socks are puffier and outside the boots. He's pretty skinny, and has thin legs and arms. Hoagie says he could break from one moment to another.
Hoagie: added suspenders because that's what old detectives used to wear! Also, he has a lot of patches on his pants because of all the times he's on his knees creating and fixing stuff. His mom buys and sews them on!
Kuki: added a tank top under his green shirt, because it's too big! Also, she now wears big leg warmers, because they were cool in the 2000s, especially in Japanese fashion (and KAWAIII!!!!!). She also wears heart-shaped earrings!
Wally: added bandages all around his arms. He's not really hurt, but all KOOL people wear them, so! Short sleeves, ripped pants, dirty, untied shoes, a lil chain with no purpose but KOOL!
Abby: added round earrings and a bracelet on each wrist! Also, her shirt is shorter than in the cartoon and she wears pants under it!
Yes, these are HEAVILY inspired by Fusionfall. Enjoy!

Did you ever read PowerPuff girls D the big crossover comic. It's was so successful that someone made a fighting game for it. And it has a fully animated opening for the comic on YouTube. In my opinion it's one of the greatest fan made comics out there.

I know about it, have answered very brief asks about it before, and am not a fan. I was a little hesitant to answer this because I know there are a lot of other people who follow my blog and are also not fans (so I’ll tag accordingly for blacklists) but, uh… there’s a lot of questionable content in the series to say the least and, for me, I guess aside from the controversy the creator’s been involved in… not a fan of crossover stuff to begin with.
#BUT AS I ALWAYS SAY#you can like what you like#but yeah for me there is not a whole lot to like#especially since there is……. HOO BOY…….. a lot to unpack with it lmao#I will leave it at that#I would probably call it infamous lol#for better or for worse I’m pretty sure it was an inspiration for fusionfall’s style soooooo#that’s nice I guess#tw: bleedman

Not gonna lie. The Kverse gives me major Fusion Fall vibes, lmao. Have you (or Reed-Doom in story) considered adding more champions like The Powerpuff Girls?
Y'know, I completely missed out on FusionFall, so maybe I'm just trying to recreate what I think I missed :P
I've actually been watching the OG PPG on Netflix lately because I've always been interested but never really got the chance to seriously watch it when I was a kid. I need to watch more to make a decision, but ngl, I find the idea very appealing (though I'd need to tweak a few things for sure). My primary focus for grafting new franchises is cartoon superheroes, so it's definitely possible!
#ask box#anon ask#kryptonverse#i'm kidding about the fusionfall thing#i've mentioned before that the primary inspiration for the kverse was the subspace emissary campaign from smash bros brawl

Better Drawn Edits/Commentary
Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a better version of my first post—I decided to redraw it and add some commentary to the photos. I also included a brief description of why I designed the character(s) this way. Keep in mind, this is just my personal headcanon and how I imagine them, so please take it with a grain of salt. Hope you enjoy the updated edit!I’d love to hear your thoughts, though—feel free to drop a comment down below if you’d like to discuss any headcanons, design ideas, or how you imagine these characters looking.
So let's get started
Frist up, Abby and Nigel

For Abby, I didn’t change much because I really like her canon design—it definitely gives off that cool tomboy vibe, which suits her perfectly. I did make a few tweaks, though. I liked how she had those golden hoop bracelets in her FusionFall version, so I included a nod to that by giving her one big ring bracelet, similar to what you might see on Sonic the Hedgehog characters. I also gave her athletic jeans/shorts to make her outfit a bit more practical, especially since she’s only 10 years old. I always thought her original design could use a bit more coverage for a kid.
As for Nigel, I wanted to keep the iconic elements of his original design while incorporating some of the more practical and battle-ready features from his FusionFall look. I kept the puffy vest from his FusionFall outfit because it gives him that tough, adventurous vibe and makes him look like he’s ready to take charge. The black fingerless gloves were added because I thought they gave him a cool, tactical touch, fitting for someone who’s always on the front lines and leading the team. I also decided to go with the FusionFall shorts because they make him look more prepared for combat while still being practical for running around on missions. I wanted to keep that balance of both.
Second, Hoagie and Abby

For Hoagie, I actually preferred his canon design over his FusionFall version, but I did take a few elements from both. One thing I liked from his FusionFall look was the fingerless gloves, so I tried to incorporate those. I’ll admit I’m not the best at drawing hands, so they didn’t come out perfect, but I still think they add a nice touch to his look. Another detail I liked from FusionFall was the knee patches on his pants. To make the outfit look more cohesive, I made the patches match his shirt color for a more aesthetically pleasing look. I also darkened his pants just a bit, while keeping the folded-up parts slightly lighter, since the inside of rolled-up pants usually appears a bit faded compared to the outside. Lastly, I changed the "2" on his hat to have a more bubble-shaped design, making it look bolder and more readable. I also colored it blue to match his shirt and tie the whole look together.
As for Abby, this is more of a full design for her outfit. I forgot to mention earlier that I added a small yellow button to her MJs (Mary Janes) to complement the golden hoops and bracelet. I thought it would be a nice little touch to tie the outfit together and add just a bit more personality to her look.
Finally Kuki and Wally

For Wally, I gave him a more rugged, tough-guy look with ripped clothes because I can totally see him always getting his clothes torn up from fighting or just being his reckless self. The piercings add to that rocker vibe I imagine for him—I get the feeling he’d definitely be into rock music, so I wanted to reflect that. One detail I did like from his FusionFall look was the silver pocketchain on his pants, but I took it a step further by giving him two chains linked together to make it look even more like a rocker/bad boy style. He always has a bandage on his face because, well, it just fits his scrappy personality—he’s always getting into fights, so it makes sense for him to be a bit banged up. I also wrapped his hands with bandages, inspired by another artist @kommandonuovidiavoli , to add to that fighter aesthetic.
As for Kuki, I wanted to blend elements from both her canon and FusionFall designs since I really like both. I kept her signature green sweater from the show, but I styled it off the shoulder with a black tank top underneath to give it a more modern and stylish look while still keeping that casual vibe she’s known for. II also gave her a skirt inspired by another artist @hyperfixingfr @spicedwatermel0n (Edited part). He also gave kuki a black skirt, which I loved and wanna to do, so i was inspired by him. hint at her wearing leggings underneath, I made her legs a bit thicker to create that layered look. I always imagined Kuki would go for comfort and mobility, especially since she’s always running around and being active. The leggings not only add practicality but also make the whole outfit feel more complete.

WASP REVIEW - WASPMON, FUNBEEMON, AND CANNONBEEMON (DIGIMON)

[Image IDs: Three official renders of the listed Digimon, those being Waspmon, FunBeemon, and CannonBeemon /End IDs.]
Well, this will be interesting as someone whose only experience with the Digimon franchise is whatever Karina from Drawfee has explained about the franchise. But I'm gonna try my best to understand what we've got going on here, which shouldn't be too difficult! Let's just hop into the deep end here! (Apologies in advance to the Digimon enjoyers)
Starting with Waspmon, this Digimon is very clearly at least mostly mechanical, which I suppose makes my job here a little bit easier, as it's clear they were not going for accuracy. Even still, I do have to point out some things. It seemingly only has one pair of improperly segmented legs (unless those rib-like parts around its mesosoma are legs too), with more human-like hands, and these big armored shoulder plates (supposedly propellers?) that are perhaps only comparable to the large tibiae of shield-handed wasps. They also seem to have only one set of wings but I can't say for sure. The head seems accurate enough, with even the right number of eyes, in the right positions! That's pretty rare! The antennae are a bit too straight, not segmented enough, with feathered ends I've never really seen in a wasp, although they do remind me of some notably different featherings on certain species, such as a number of members of the genus Dendrocerus. There are other things I could point out, like the abdominal spines and laser stinger, but given its mechanical nature, I'll leave it at the fact that the abdomen is too big, with perhaps the closest example I can give in relation to the roundness of the gaster being that of gall wasps!

[Image Sources: bugguide.net, Jim Moore, Wikimedia Commons, S.E. Thorpe, and Flickr, Judy Gallagher | Image IDs: Three photos, one of a black and yellow shield-handed wasp on a white surface, the next of a black specimen of the genus Dendrocerus in front of a white background, the last one of a black and red Cynipid gall wasp on a brown wooden surface /End IDs.]
As for FunBeemon, this one seems a lot more natural on nature, with a very clear inspiration too. Body's properly segmented, the color could stand to be a tiny bit darker though. The correct number of wings, legs, and eyes. But the eyes that are supposed to be compound are these glassy, mammalian eyes, and the legs aren't quite colored or segmented right, with too few claws on most legs as well. The antennae seem to be segmented properly though! Even with little lines that seem to imply the presence of the flagellomeres, not quite clear on that though. The mandibles shouldn't be grey like that, and the head in general is a bit too wide and round. It has the same strange abdominal spines as Waspmon, which shouldn't be there, as I don't believe any species of bee has those. But they did get the "serrated" (barbed) stinger right, even if it is far too thick!

[Image Sources: Jupiter's Wasp House, ie Myself, and Cambridge University | Image IDs: A photo of a black and yellow honey bee on a human hand, followed by four images of a honey bee's stinger viewed on an extremely close up scale /End IDs.]
Finally, when it comes to CannonBeemon... What's going on here? Don't get me wrong here, it's awesome, but it does also look like Polistes dominula got freaky with a FusionFall Shattergun. All bits aside, this Digimon does fall into essentially the same category as Waspmon, it's too mechanical to really bother with the details, this one even moreso. Everything I said about Waspmon's general head area still applies. It has the right wing count, though they are thin for something as heavy as this thing has to be (the Wiki says 38g but I'm not sure about that for something so big and metallic, not gonna lie). It has only four, very short legs, with little grabby hands at the end, which while incorrect is actually pretty cute. The shape is too abnormal to compare to any real wasp, though I do quite like the use of hexagonal cell shapes here in reference to real social bees' and wasps' hive structures. That's about it for that, though.
Now, what about their behaviors? Well, as one might expect, Waspmon is the defensive soldier type, patrolling the viscinity of the hive, being aggressive enough to divebomb Digimon that get too close. Now, I won't deny that wasps do divebomb as an offensive move against potential hive invaders, but they act on far more than distance to the hive, their reaction to an individual's presence is based on a multitude of factors, such as movement/body language, their level of familiarity with the threat, and of course, actual actions taken by the potential threat to harm the hive, among other things. That said, these Digimon do seem to be quite intelligent, as the wiki states "The antenna-parts on its head have high reconnaissance ability", IE they are able to gather information essentially at the level of a special operative. A real wasp can remember quite a lot, though it definitely takes in more than just what it can detect through smell.
CannonBeemon is also a line of defense for the hive, though being much more powerful, both of these Digimon use lasers instead of venom, as you could've probably guessed from their mechanical structures, which is, of course, not true for actual wasps. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that wasps don't fire lasers though. Whether or not these two soldiers hunt for or feed on anything is unclear.
As for FunBeemon, it also doesn't seem to be out gathering food either, but it does gather some materials, those being bits of "home data", to build up the hive the same way many social Hymenopterans would gather wood, dirt, or the material needed to make wax. This Digimon gets along well with plant Digimon, which should probably be the case for all the rest of them too but whatever. These ones, too, also attack... With projectiles, they fire off their stingers like arrows. This is a surprisingly common thing amongst representations of stinging Hymenopterans in media? strange... They also have a second ability to summon allies, which is unfortunately, for whatever reason, referred to as "88 Call". Apparently this is because 8 in Japanese can be read as "Hachi", which is also a word that refers to eusocial Hymenopterans, like honey bees, but of course, two eights can also be read in a far, far worse way. Different potential connotations aside, the description of this move says that FunBeemon summons allies with its antennae, which, as far as I know, the alarm pheromones of bees are not produced in or near the antennae.
Back to the material gathering and building of the hive though! It turns out that FunBeemon isn't the only one who helps to build the hive, as it's aided by-
HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER! - FORGEBEEMON

[Image ID: The official render of ForgeBeemon /End IDs.]
This guy! Not much to say here in terms of accuracy, as I don't think they're really trying for that here. But I do really love that they accounted for its ocelli in the mask design! Coulda used a bit more space around the compound eyes though. It's got antennae, which aren't segmented right, but they're present, and bend in the right place. It also has wings that are even tinier than CannonBeemon! Its two moves are also defense by way of offense, with a saw-like stinger, and two extra robotic arms that can produce a powerful electric discharge.
It's not called a "Forge" for nothing, either, as these bees are the ones that take materials and bond them together with an adhesive called "Honey Glue" (Don't think that's how that works, but oh well) that's produced in its abdomen, much like how honey bees produce wax!
[Image Source: Hive And Honey Apiary | Image ID: A photo of a black and yellow honey bee producing wax from its abdominal glands /End IDs.]
But, if they have a hive, and live in the same eusocial manner as some real honey bees and vespid wasps, then they must have a Queen! I wonder what it looks like-
HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER! - QUEENBEEMON

[Image ID: The official render of QueenBeemon /End IDs.]
... That's just a human woman in a costume... Are y'all sure this is a Digimon?... Well, I mean, it still has absolute power over the hive, so I guess yeah, that's their queen, but... Huh.
Well QueenBeemon gets a badass army and a badass mech chair with venom shot arms and laser turrets at least. Surely that's the end of them and that's all that needs to be s-
HERE COMES A- OK JUST GET IT OVER WITH - VESPAMON AND TIGER VESPAMON

[Image IDs: The official renders of Vespamon and Tiger Vespamon /End IDs.]
Alright, more guys in suits. Human status is less clear given the fact they have no skin showing, but they're definitely humanoid... I can at least comment on the fact they seem to be designed to be male, which, if they're meant to be soldiers/workers too (Where are the drones??) that wouldn't be the case, as the vast majority of male social wasps (including bees) do not have defensive capabilities and don't leave the hive nearly as often as the females.
But that HAS to be it? Right? RIGH-
OH COME ON - HONEYBEEMON, FLYBEEMON, JEWELBEEMON, AND DINOBEEMON

[Image IDs: The official renders of HoneyBeemon, FlyBeemon, JewelBeemon, and DinoBeemon /End IDs.]
... I'm not even gonna bother.

WaspBeemon and FunBeemon (Ranked on accuracy): 6.5/10

This one image I drew of myself like 5 years ago remains evergreen because I'm always thinking about fusionfall like it isn't even a question. Cartoon network made an mmo about an alien invasion that was also a crossover game between every currently active cartoon network property and it was also like. It was anime inspired. And buttercup from the powerpuff girls was missing and presumed dead from the jump. And we do not talk about it. Why? What shackles bind us from discussing fusionfall?

FusionFall Headcanons: Runty
While many had their reservations about Billy's odd "pet," he's grown on a fair number of soldiers stationed at the Endsville base, becoming their unofficial mascot. Do your best to keep your eye on him though: There's no telling what trouble he may be involved in.
Being an imaginary friend, Runty is smarter than many people give him credit for. Unlike actual fusion monsters, he can talk, if in a very infantile way. He's more like the imaginary puppies in the FHFIF episode, "Who Let the Dogs In?" where instinct greatly overrides their limited intelligence. Signs of said intelligence include when he refers to the player as "Mama" or "Papa," likely as a result of Billy handing him over to us after the events of "Fuse No More (Part 2 of 4)." Considering that what followed was him getting sacrificed to weaken the shield in Fuse's Lair, this mission also served as an example of Runty's loving nature. with Billy noting how sweet he is and Runty seemingly forgiving us after these events.
Despite Runty continuing to stay by Billy's side after this, it's clear that he maintains some odd sense of affection for the player for the... few minutes at best, that he was passed over as their imaginary friend. He keeps pushing the title of "Mama" or "Papa" onto them, as if the player has some sort of co-parent status with Billy. It could also be a trait that he actually inherited from Billy, given the latter's sometimes misguided sense of compassion and regular habit of pushing his friendship onto others.
Sadly, like many of Billy's other pets, Runty is regularly the victim of neglect/abuse or unfortunate circumstances. Luckily for the little guy, since he was based on the malleable fusion spawns, he springs back from most injuries incredibly easily--ironically, another trait he also shares with Billy. Besides the incident at Fuse's Lair, Runty has been attacked by Milkshakes and fusion fighters, endured food poisoning, and run over by vehicles multiple times. Each time, he springs back without seeming any the wiser.
Since learning of his true origins as an imaginary friend, many people at the Endsville base have tried to see how they could put his ability to camouflage with actual fusion monsters to use. Runty has learned to follow some basic commands and repeat certain words he hears, and initially, there was some success in using him to maneuver around other groups of fusion monsters. However, the tactic wouldn't work forever. Eventually, either from realizing that they couldn't communicate with him through the fusion hivemind or paying attention to how he hung around the Endsville base, fusion monsters would recognize him as an enemy. Runty has ended serving as a distraction, bait, or placed in a kind of 'Lassie' role since. All in all, it wasn't a big loss since he really only listens to Billy or soldiers he's gotten close to for whatever the reason.
Runty's existence may have partially inspired Dexter to create the Unstable Nanos, being that they share much of the same traits and the same purpose for the war effort.
While typically sweet, Runty does have a couple of bad habits, those being "love bites" and trying to eat random objects. He's like a toddler that'll put anything in his mouth--one full of razor-sharp teeth that you definitely don't want to get your arm caught in.

The Look of FusionFall
So as I'm working on my FusionFall pilot, I've been thinking about what the series would visually look like.
The original FusionFall had used an obviously anime-esque art-style.
And while most of the characters translated pretty well to this style....
Some didn't.....

Like dude, Jake looks like he's seen some shit!
For this series, I'd want the art style to be a perfect blend between an anime style and the characters' Western roots.
And the artist that I think would be perfect for the job?
Yuji Uekawa!
The man responsible for giving us the modern designs of that the Sonic the Hedgehog has had for almost 27 years now!

Yuji has stated that when redesigning the Sonic characters, he took heavy inspiration from early Western animation like Walt Disney and Looney Tunes.
And you can see that influence in his work, particularly in the official art made for Sonic Adventure.
So I think he would be a great choice to do the art-style!
As for the animation, FusionFall would be done by the legendary TMS Entertainment!
youtube
Well that's all for now!
Let me know what you guys think about my choices in art-style and animation!

Aelita, Destroyer of Lyoko
If you haven't guessed or didn't have a clue on who this was, she is Aelita. She is from the French cartoon known as "Code Lyoko". This show was inspired by various animes and this was France's take on making an Anime-inspired show. My approach to this drawing was her possessed by the antagonist known as X.A.N.A, a Computer A.I. virus plotting to destroy humanity, during the college years of the main characters.
This drawing was tough. I had never done background work before and putting myself in a situation where I had to understand light and shadows for certain poses like this. The rocks that she is lifting are not meant to be shaped like actual rocks. Because she's in a virtual world, the objects don't have a symmetrical shape due to X.A.N.A's manipulation of the world's code. The background was inspired by a game called "FusionFall" by Cartoon Network. I thought of the world that she was in as a toxic environment where there is a lot of debris and dust floating in the air due to the destruction she had caused.

Another FusionLore episode where Matt and Magic recap the missions and stories from the past several levels, but this time they're joined by a special guest - an ex-FusionFall Legacy/Retro dev - Przzyfied.
Some of the things they go over include Grim's role in this invasion and how he prevents people from dying in battle, what is a Fusion's relation to the character they copy and how much of that character is actually present in them, what would happen if Fuse tried creating a Fusion Alien X and, of course, more about Fusion Mayor and his never-ending quest for the Fusion Pickles.
Better to watch it yourselves than have me explaining here though. So, before you go, here's the thumbnail and, I gotta say, I'm pretty sure my stupid sketch following Ep 19 is what inspired this to be this video's thumbnail. 🤭

Deedark heacanons?
I loved the ones you made a while back and was wondering if you had more!
Awww! Thank you, you’re very sweet! 😊💕
Sure! Let me remember them.
• I used to headcanon that Dee Dee snores, but when rewatching the show I noticed that Mandark is the one that Canonically snores, and they usually write Dee Dee as a silent sleeper. Now that I think about it, it might make sense, since he has a very narrow neck lolllll Edit: I forgot to mention that Mandark canonically Talks In His Sleep!!!!
• I also used to headcanon that Dee Dee is an early bird and that she sleeps early, and that Mandark was the night owl, but now that I think about the kinds of jobs they have, maybe their sleeping schedules should be the other way around 😆. I mean, ballet studios tend to be an after school activity, meaning that she would be working in the afternoons, and he runs a laboratory, so his office hours would be from 8 AM to 5 PM, but he stays up late working extra hours. I like to think their sleeping schedules sync because of it.
• They live together by 23, but have probably been roommates since before. I don’t know why I’m fixated on 23, I came up with this when I was 19, and 23 sounded like a very exciting age at the time. I’m turning 31 in June, and giving this some thought it still feels like a good age! It’s a challenging time for many, there’s so much societal pressure to get your shit together after college, but you still want to enjoy life ““before 25””, so it would be very nice if they’re together through it.
• They probably don’t marry until 25 though, because it feels like a “serious” age to them, but mostly because I want them to still call each other boyfriend and girlfriend for a while ( and Fiancé for a while too lolll ). Although 25 is still young! Don’t hurry things just because that age sounds scary 💝 People will think you’re 21 at 30, and 16 at 21. There’s always time; take things slow. ( I’m only keeping the headcanons because they feel lived in ).
• For Dee Dee’s job, I like to think she joined a ballet company, so in her early adulthood she’s doing a lot of performances. She gets the instructor job later, to get a steady paycheck. She begins to suffer muscle pains because she’s not 10 anymore, so I like to imagine that Mandark helps monitoring her muscle health and he’s Very serious about it, I’m talking massages, 3D diagrams they update every week, keeps a journal and plans a diet for her. At some point she retires from the performances and dedicates herself to be an instructor, but she returns to the stage every other year. Edit: I’ve been following ballerinas on social media and watching documentaries to learn about their life styles, so I think she’ll be healthy for a very long time. Mandark is still concerned about her health though.
• I have several AUs for these two, but most of my headcanons for them are in the FusionFall verse. I really really like that Universe! It inspires me a lot. I should illustrate some headcanons someday. If you want to hear any FF specific headcanons, let me know!
• From their personalities in canon, I like to think they’re both very clingy, in particular Mandark. He’s very needy, needs lots of validation and has tendencies of low self-esteem, and she’s too cuddly, she’ll walk in on you when you’re busy to shower you with attention. I think it makes them perfect for each other; they’re both smothering with affection, and it makes them natural outlets. They probably tire each other sometimes, but they’re back at it again afterwards.
Thanks for the ask! Hope these work for you! 🫶💖💕
Have some Milk and Mocha, they’re my go-to DeeDark mascots 🐻❄️🐻

So, semi-random thought occurred tied to both PPG and Ben 10: Did you ever get a chance to play FusionFall, or any of the fan servers that were in operation after its initial shutdown? If so, what were your thoughts on it, and its character designs? (Unrelated: thoughts on Generator Rex?)
Funny enough, I never got into FusionFall much. I wasn't a very online MMO kinda girl. I had a PSX, N64 and later on a Wii and PS2 and that was my gaming life as a kid!
Our computer was only able to really run like Disney Channel flash games lol (of which I got really good at that one Zack and Cody game).
I liked the look of the game though. Some characters didn't really translate that well I feel...The Ed Boys and some KND characters especially looked off but I did like how the girls looked. Many say that I took inspiration from the FF designs for my own but half the time I say yes but in reality it was mostly from the PPGZ anime and my love of super sentai Japanese heroes.
It would be cool to see FF come back someday...lots of new characters they could add. I would be interested in seeing how zany Steven Universe and Regular Show would look in that style lmaooo
Also, Generator Rex is a damn smart show. Unfortunately, I never got much into it until later. I did really like the design that his powers had. I am a huge fan of Giant oversized arms, kinda like Mega Man, and Rex's were super cool. That show and Sym Bionic Titan deserve comebacks dammit!
