Has anyone ever thought about how and why Smelly Gabe got a paycheck from the department store he was the manager at, even though he never went into work?

My theory: Gabe Ugliano is Italian. He is always playing poker with his two friends, a neighbor, and the landlord. They tried to stick up for Percy at the beginning of the first book when Gabe squeezed Percy for money, but one word from Gabe and they shut up. If you look up the address to the apartment that they were living in at the time when Percy gave it to the taxi driver, then you'll find that they live in the Spanish Quarter of Manhattan. The Hood.

Gabe is an Italian Mafia Boss for the New York Chapters. The department store is a front for the criminal activity that goes on behind the scenes. Gabe's two friends that he is always with, are his two lieutenants.

The reason why nobody came after Sally for what she did, I think it's because 1) there are no logical connections between his disappearance and Sally. 2) no one could believe that Sally could wack anyone. 3) they didn't like Gabe either. 4) they like Sally, and even those who think that Sally unalived Gabe, would never do anything about it. 5) the cops didn't go after Sally, because there wasn't any evidence. 6) Poseidon must have done something with the mist so that those mortals who knew or suspected Sally or Percy of anything, to make them forget or point them in the wrong direction.

The only link between his kills are that everyone killed has wronged Riggy(or his friends) in some way, like by threatening them or smth, on most of his kills he leaves a note or a blue object for the police to find; his first kill was the boss and his cool down period is usually long(except when someone threatens his friends). He sends bloodied gifts to cdot all the time and owes mogswamp a favor. Pear is his weapons dealer and he has a good enough relationship with Melon and Jonny

Jonny: Melons student, just wanted to learn to code not hack, got wrapped into this mess without wanting, he's low-key just there.

Phaleur: He knows what everyone is doing but won't tell bc he values his life and want to live. He's like the secret keeper, he doesn't participate but he knows. He knows your secrets.

Police tried to interrogate him, all he said was basically ‘I would tell but i want to live and my friends would kill both me and you if I told’.

Joe Caine: literally no clue what’s going on. (Eventually he’s gonna stumble upon Datchia on tumblr, confront Pear about it, and have it be a whole situation)

Datchia: Yknow those corkboards with the red string? Make that a person. The conspiracy theorist that’s actually onto something but they’re on tumblr so nobody notices. Her investigation started when she noticed that most of the murder notes mentioned a “sewer rat” and that was Riggy’s contact name in Danno’s phone

on your whole Daniel Wakeford could have been Danny thing, I keep thinking of how that might have been a more natural way to have him meet a mentor style Rider. Have Wakeford go to Robbie’s house during the possession period, he gets piped by Robbie and all that, he is bleeding on the ground… and then the Talented Kale guy stands up

I love the idea of Robbie and Noble Kale interacting, because I think Robbie would be SUPER SUPER pumped to meet someone who could knock Eli out with a moment's notice. Robbie and Noble's ethics don't completely align but they're pretty close (Robbie is probably more pragmatic than Noble). Noble would scare the crap out of Eli, which would probably result in a Roast Rider that is 100% Robbie Reyes whenever Noble is anywhere nearby, and allow Robbie to become more comfortable with his body and powers. Also it would be interesting for Robbie to meet a possessing ghost who is not a festering asshole. I'm envisioning a kind of big brother dynamic.

On the other hand, I also like the idea of Danny, just Danny, trying to mentor Robbie, and joining Johnny Blaze in Robbie's lineup of flawed adult role models.

Johnny gave Robbie advice about how to handle Eli that was based on his own experience with Zarathos, who was just randomly lashing out from frustration. This advice wound up being inappropriate to handle Eli, who had human connections and goals and the capacity to plan; Robbie was caught flat-footed when Eli used Gabe to attack his old mafia boss.

Danny's experience with Noble Kale was very different from Johnny's with Zarathos. Danny was running away from his own life by letting Noble take over his body. Danny might broach the subject of grief and avoidance with Robbie, suggesting that Robbie is using the Ghost Rider as a way to escape his pain, and I think Robbie would take that very badly because it's partly true on an emotional level and completely off-base on a practical level. Danny might also believe that Robbie can only be stable and happy with Eli gone; he and Noble were unable to share a life despite Noble being a good guy and both of them caring about each-other. If it turned out that Robbie and Eli could not be separated, Danny might think Robbie is doomed.

I think overall it would have been very cool, from a narrative standpoint, for each Ghost Rider that Robbie meets to have different ideas for how Robbie should handle himself, based on their own individual experiences and with some valid points and other points that are irrelevant or inappropriate. Robbie would have to pick and choose what works for him and find his own way to take care of himself.

Day 3 of Redacted "What Ifs"- Mafia au (Part One)

CAUTION- LONG POST

So this was very widely requested, which I was NOT opposed to. Except for the fact that the only couple I had in mind was Gavin and FL. SO- Imma try to explain how I have the main groups set up first, then I’ll explain the individual character’s roles, and after that, I'll Explain how each of the couples met.

The Damn Crew is their own group of freelance mercenaries (Ik I’m so funny). They don’t belong to any clans or packs, they just get hired for different jobs and collect their money. The Shaw Pack is one of the bigger mafia groups as well as The Solaire Clan. Usually, packs and clans don’t get along with each other that well (woah werewolf and vampire drama) but, when David was a kid, Gabe established a peaceful friendship with The Solaire Clan (Gabe and William were buddies).

Freelancer- In this au, FL is a cold, but caring leader. They crack jokes and laugh with their group, but on the job, they have a stone-cold expressions. They prefer solo missions, and despite some worries, they know that the rest of their group can handle themselves. They also don’t care for distractions, which Damien and Huxley definitely provide on the job.

Gavin- This man is always cracking jokes, and unlike the rest of the Damn Crew, Gavin isn’t in it for the money. He’s more in it for… the food. Yea, this man does it with his targets and then kills/kidnaps/whatever he was hired to do to them. Best way to get a “quiet” death or at least be able to get away before anybody dared to go into the room they were in. He’s still against forcing it on people (which is why he only ever takes up targets he knows to have an attraction to him) as well as he is against shape-shifting for them. Surprisingly, he still gets enough jobs to sustain himself. He’s also more of an asshole than he was in the og story (I haven’t seen the second episode in so long, I forget how much of an ass he was).

Huxley and Damien (despite me loving them so much, there's not much to talk about them so this is the only time I’ll talk about just them)- Damien is usually serious when it comes to the job, but he can’t help but smile when Huxley is there with him. Huxley pretty much is there just to flirt and bash some heads in. When he actually focuses on Damien though, he goes into a full gay panic and completely stops doing what he’s doing. It’s okay though because they both put 100% trust in each other during missions. They just simply say the other’s name, and they’re right there next to each other. Think of Millie and Moxxie from Helluva Boss and how well they work together.

Lasko- Lasko is too nervous/scared to pull the trigger on anybody, so he does his best to organize his group and get jobs for everyone. He originally got into the whole mafia thing after meeting and periodically dating Gavin (yes Ik it wasn’t explicitly said in the og story- just heavily implied- but it's canon here so be happy :D). Despite his thinking that FL should represent their group when getting jobs he usually meets the bosses. FL has been trying to get him out of the house so this is the only way they could find to get him to touch some grass. Most of the bosses are amused by him and some even see him as a friend (Gabe before yk- and William), while others think he’s pathetic (don’t be mean to our boi >:v).

Lasko’s Listener- LL is pretty similar to FL, though they show a lot more mercy to their targets, making their target’s death fast (FL enjoys the chase). They have the SOFTEST soft spot for Lasko though. Any moment Lasko is in danger/uncomfortable, LL is there. They are the most protective out of the group over Lasko which is why FL let them stay and eventually grew fond of them.

Imma do this as a cool lil' narrative bc I already explained their characters.

Freelancer(you) and Gavin-

You had just finished cleaning up the blood off of your dark suit, "If they'd just hand over the damn money, it wouldn't be so hard," you mumbled. After a few minutes of polishing your favorite pistol, you got up and began to do a sweep of the room. You made sure there was no evidence of your arrival and looked for any loose money or safes. Eventually, you found a suitcase that you estimated to have the amount of money you needed. Hastily, you went to check on the mysterious man that Lasko had told you would be on the job with you.

You didn't know much about the man, Lasko seemed more reluctant to give information about him than he usually was. He had only said one thing, "Make sure he gets the job done. His tactics are... unconventional." From there, your friend was too flustered to give any more information, and you just assumed he had a "history" with the man. It was obvious.

"Why did this have to be a double mission?" You ask yourself, rushing down the hallways of the hotel, "I could have done it myself. I don't need some whore of a mercenary to help me out with killing a set of two ignorant people." Later, you'd find out how accurate that word choice was. The mercenary would not be ashamed to hear you called him such a name.

Once you arrived, you didn't hesitate to open the door and walk in. The bathroom light was the only light that was on. On the bed, was a dark stain, and as you took a deep breath in you smelt the overwhelming metallic scent of blood. Somebody had died in here.

Gripping your pistol, you took a step forward. Feeling, your foot kick something, you notice there are clothes sprawled out around the room, "Oh. My. God," you thought.

Moving toward the bathroom, you saw a figure. Quickly, you rushed towards the figure. Before you knew it, your pistol was against his forehead, and his claws were wrapped around your neck.

"Who are you?" the man asked.

"The one making sure you finish the job. I can see how that went for you," you gestured to his... everything, he was barely clothed, and his body was covered in hastily healing wounds. He was some form of demon. Putting two and two together, you could tell what kind of demon he was.

Realization dawned on his face before his smile turned to a devilish one, "Oh, you're with that airhead, aren't you?"

You never thought your hand could grip tighter on the gun. Anger filled your veins, but you still fought to keep a straight face. You stepped forward, and with his claws unyielding, you pressed the cold end of the gun to his face. "Don't. call him that," you spoke in a calm, threatening tone.

He laughed and pulled his hand away from your throat, still scratching the sides of your neck gently, "I like you."

"Who are you?" You ask, unphased.

"I'm Gavin, but a beautiful creature like you can call me Gav," he smirked as if he thought he got you with that one.

"...And what are you?"

"I think you know very well what I am, voyeur. Though, If you need reminding, I'm an Incubus, and you?" His tone was condescending, but you had taught yourself not to react to such antagonization.

"First of all, don't call me that, and if you must know, I'm a freelancer."

"A freelancer... Eh? Well, I still prefer voyeur, so I'll stick with that."

You lower your gun and break eye contact with him for the first time since you saw his figure in the fluorescent bathroom lights. Looking away, you hear sirens. "We've wasted too much time, get some clothes on and we're reporting back to our employer."

Lasko and Lasko's Listener-

I don't know how to do a narrative for this one and it's 12:24 am for me so Imma just explain it (I'm so sorry I wanted to write this as a narrative but I have no ideas for it). Also, LL is Lasko's Listener-

So I'd think the two would meet each other outside of work. LL would ask him out on a date and the whole catastrophe would happen and it's canon here bc I loved it. Eventually, Lasko and LL would meet when he's signing up FL for a mercenary job that has an extra spot needed (hehehe get where I'm going?). So basically they both find out that they partake in the same craft and Lasko starts helping LL. After a while, FL finds out and goes on a few missions with LL and allows them to join their group.

So yea- I'm sorry this was such a long post, I will post parts two and three later, but most likely tomorrow and Thursday. Then I'll take a break and post day 4 on Saturday.

under the cut's gonna be some possibly heavy stuff concerning gabe's ex, so, just as a forewarning: homophobia, physical abuse, neglect, abandonment, domestic violence

due to the nature of his secondary work, it wasn't uncommon for gabe to pick up those with repressed bicurious urges, nor was he a stranger to questioning types. one such man was jeyda tahir, an emigrant from turkey who'd come to the states to pursue his college dreams.

jeyda's main concern was, of course, immigration laws and deportation. first order of business was to become a citizen, paid for by his family's monetary gifts. the other was his future career: becoming a talent scout centering on acting / choreography. upon passing the citizenship test, he chose a more americanized name: jarrod / "jay".

gabe met him early in his college courses, at a street vendor's market, admiring some of los angeles' native artists. they did the typical on-again and off-again budding romance, dates during the holidays, and the works. gabe was smitten with this guy. absolutely head over heels.

unfortunately, those rose-tinted glasses had blinded him to the obvious red flags.

first, it came as passive-aggressive remarks, making fun of his interests, his sex work, and the way he expressed himself. subtly made fun of his liking for sweets, took him on "exotic" flights to choose said talent for his 'job' and ultimately ditched gabe until the week was up, shredded a few favorite belongings....gabe suffered through constant gaslighting, questioning his own thoughts.

oh, wasn't just once gabe'd get ditched on business trips. it'd be a pattern of that behavior.

news broke later on that jay had been cheating with a potential cast pick, and the company that sponsored dropped the turkish man. disrespect and employee-boss relations were a no-no. their house of cards quickly collapsed in on itself, with gabe suffering the brunt of it. rejection after rejection, jay took to drinking. alcoholism turned him into a mean drunk. a vengeful drunk.

gabe knew he had a sadistic streak, but not one so glaringly mile-wide.

after an explosive fight, their relationship ended. ended with a homophobic slur carved into gabe's side and cauterized via lighter flame. ended with gabe, bloody and dazed, seemingly watching from the back of an ambulance as jay was led away by police. of course, this wouldn't last. only detained for a fortnight, jay was soon out on public streets once again.

gabe gathered what he could in jay's apartment after a brief hospitalization, took his bag with art supplies, any emergency paperwork and left. contact quickly deleted and pushed all memory of jay outta his mind -- or tried to, despite the stinging ache in his side and hot tears. spending days looking over his shoulder, hoping that the person behind him doesn't turn out to be jay. having his fears confirmed that he somehow got ahold of his new burner number or whatnot.

sure, he could shrug off most of his family's hardships, disownment, et cetera. but jay? anxiety heightened. gaining a diagnosis with cptsd / ptsd. trust? all but gone. been hitch-hiking / train-hopping / ubering ever since.

running in hopes of never seeing that man again.

for gabe? dropped his ass like a lit match to gasoline. jay? went radio silent. gabe presumed it was cause he moved back to turkey ( or maybe joined a cartel / mafia / black market op since dancing wasn't paying bills ).

to cope, he threw himself headlong into the occult, supernatural, and the macabre. if he was as much a monster that his 'pick me' ex believed, then he'd do so through art. taking his anger and reshaping it into something useful. a message, anything.

Gabe fidgets with his overgrown bangs as he waits for his boss, Konrad, to come back with whatever he was getting out of this deal. Being gone for deals this long was common, but what wasn't common was Gabe being left behind within the building of the mafia. He had paced for hours at that point just waiting for his boss to come back. Then there was the click of the door, Gabe's head snapped quickly to look at the door as Konrad walked back into the building, staff closing the door behind him and covering whatever he had gotten,

"Ah, Gabriel, you seem like you were so bored without me here this time," Konrad said with a slight chuckle.

"Ya, I really had nothing else to do after you left so suddenly," Gabe said, watching as the red haired man walked in, with another person behind him, hesitating.

"I had to use quite a bit more money than I had planned on this new purchase of mine, but," he then yanks in a short platinum blond haired man with bright emerald eyes, "I finally got what I have been wanting for years!"

The guy Konrad had brought home was Kyle, a former classmate he had a high interest in. The guy was a piano prodigy who had joined one of the smaller gangs with a big temper but was always scared of Konrad for some reason. Kyle looked like he wanted to kill everyone in the building within that very moment. Then his soft voice can be heard obviously covering up just how pissed off he is,

"Let me go, I need to get home for the night, my father needs me to take over his shift at work tonight."

Konrad let out another chuckle, "Kyle, you dumbass, you won't be seeing your father again for a long while~"

Kyle paused, studying Konrad's face and then looking over at Gabe's in fear as he processes what he was just told. He then reaches for his gun which is followed up by Konrad snapping leading to long thick chains from around the entry restraining Kyle stopping him from being able to do anything to try to help himself out of this situation.

Before that was the last time he got to see the outside world through the eyes of freedom

most of what i know about gabe comes from the pete orbit but

gabe immigrated from uruguay and he was undocumented growing up and his family shared a one bedroom apartment and his father worked as a street vendor selling scarves until he finished medical school. gabe got super into music, specifically hair metal, and would tape it from the radio. eventually his dad finished medical school and they started living an upper middle class lifestyle. then his parents divorced.

then he got more into music and his brother started a booking company and he joined his first band at 16, then got kicked out, then started midtown, then went to college (he studied philosophy and politics sci [pete also studied poli sci] and he was a very good student). he was apparently very business minded and focused on making it big.

then midtown got kind of strained and then broke up after pete dumped flour on them at a show and gabe thought it was cool and the singer of the band hated it. the fallout of midtown breaking up was very dramatic.

he also bought a ruined house and had it put together under the table by working directly with undocumented immigrants rather than going legally through contractors. he also owned a restaurant with his friends. and then played poker in clubs run by the mafia to make ends meet because he was really good at it. then cobra got its big break with snakes on a plane.

however recently on petes podcast gabe admitted he lied about the famed story of cobra forming by him taking peyote on a vision quest and angels telling him to start a synth pop band. like it never happened. so everything he says is a little suspect

a lot of cobra was an act, sort of like the beastie boys, and he really douched it up. “youre not in on the joke” is about this, the fake chain with his own face on the viva la cobra album cover, etc. bikini kill is one of his favorite bands. i do still think hes sexist (because every last band dude is) but for example he said he worked a job cleaning waste disposal chutes and his sleazy boss told him to treat women like shit and that inspired “nice guys finish last.”

however gabe has some serious issues with women. he has mommy issues from the divorce and alleges his mom was trying to suck his dad dry of money and planned the divorce in advance to fuck him financially. being mad at his mom triggered him getting into punk.

(TRIGGER WARNING) gabe also said on loveline that the first time he had sex he was raped by a girl a year older than him. he did repeatedly use the word rape but he also described it as an enjoyable experience and “awesome.”

i dont feel the need to go into cobras lyrics and how he speaks and behaves stuff but anyway i dont care, i have given up, i also think theyre really funny.

Es parte de la mafia de Reverb por necesidad financiera y para que su familia tenga cierto grado de inmunidad.

Usa una máscara mágica que le dio Reverb como un "regalo de poder", cuando la usa su personalidad cambia haciéndolo más confiado, valiente, jugueton y astuto.

Antes de formar parte de la mafia era un dueño de un bar que tocaba música jazz y swing, sin embargo llegaron a tener una bancarrota debido a que ya nadie iba ahí.

Para su trabajo con Reverb básicamente roba varios objetos de museos, exhibiciónes y otros lugares, siendo básicamente una carmen sandiego pero en verde y con el alias de green fury.sin embargo también puede ser obligado a asesinar gente por Reverb.

Gracias al dinero ganado trabajando con Reverb pudo ser capaz de mejorar el bar y convertirlo en uno de los mejores clubes de la ciudad.

Tiene un pequeño flechazo por vivi pero sabe que no es correspondido(soy shipper de lewvi no puedes pararme).

Tiene una gran rivalidad con lewis, Lewis nunca logra atraparlo y eso le divierte a green fury(son casi enemigos).

Esta deprimido y aterrado de lo que le llegaria a hacer Reverb.

I really like @starcre8tor au from detective lewis and I wanted to draw my main oc's version of this au, now a little more information about the characters:

Gabe jenkins

In this au he is born a man (since at the time there would be no trans people).

He is part of the Reverb mob out of financial necessity and to give his family some degree of immunity.

He wears a magic mask given to him by Reverb as a "gift of power", when he wears it his personality changes making him more confident, brave, playful and cunning.

Gabe was good at reading the expressions of humans, he had needed to start learning it at a young age when he first needed to start his contracts with them. He could just tell the blonde haired guy his boss had brought in wasn’t too happy, his sharp green eyes gave it away quite quickly. Gabe knew the guy quite well, they had met back in high school, after Gabe had met his boss. Although he hated his boss, he had to give a shit about whatever his boss cared for, and that guy was for sure one of those things. That’s why gabe wasn’t too shocked when his boss had confessed to purchasing the guy from a good buddy of his boss. Gabe didn’t approve of stuff like that, whether it’s human or not, but he couldn’t argue against it unless he wanted to risk being marked as a defect, and as much as he’s close with a few defects, he doesn’t want to ever be one, the risk of death always scared him, even though he was a powerful demon compared to most of the humans around him. He had no interest in the risks of any of it no matter how stupid he found everything having to do with the contracts.

He pulls his pack of strawberry flavoured cigarettes from his pocket and his lighter, “Today is going to be quite interesting,” he said as he got out one of the cigarettes and lights it. His visible half orange, half blue eye locked on the scene in front of him between his boss and the guy.
