When did you first start writing?

With actual purpose middle school. Like 6th/7th grade.

Are the genres/themes you enjoy reading different from the ones you write?

Sorta. What's actually funny is I really ain't a fan of romance but I write that shit on the side XD.

Is there an author (or just a fellow writer!) you want to emulate, or one to whom you're often compared?

I'm not really sure about that emulate part. I could list a shit ton of awesome writers though (the people I taged and many many more) Lol, I'm definitely not compared to anyone though.

Can you tell me a little about your writing space(s)? (Room, coffee shop, desk, etc.)

I'm usually writing in my room, on a crowded tv dinner table. But I write in a lot of places, including passenger seat of car. Or in the library if I'm settling on strictly typing stuff. (I usually handwrite)

What's your most effective way to muster up some muse?

Listening to music and being busy as hell.

Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and places you write about?

I think so. I have a shit ton of black characters for a reason. I'm black, it's easy.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing, and if so, do they surprise you at all?

The power of friendship, violence, we were forced to together so now we working together, and "good guys" doing bad shit too. Those are usually pretty prevalent in my stories.

Would you please tell me about your current favorite character?

Uhhhh that's hard to decide but I guess I'll go Saz. Saz is my stud bear morpher dragged into a battle against the humans. She is stressed, bro is going through it, and she's a wrestler.

Which of your characters do you think you'd be friends with in real life?

Most of them honestly. I think I'd be more than willing to hear about Hollis's (Robots & Gardens) exploits.

Which of your characters would you dislike the most if you met them?

Cosma would get her shit rocked and I'd get mine rocked in return. And I think me and Green's anger problems would clash in really bad ways.

Tell me about the process of coming up with of one, all, or any of your characters.

They appear magically in my brain. And I obsess over them like I obsess over all of my interests. The Fucked at Five oc's were the one's that deviated the most because most of them are based on the movie Open Season.

Do you notice any recurring themes/traits among your characters?

Tough exterior but actually really soft and big women go brr.

How do you picture them? (As real people you imagined, as models/actors who exist in real life, as imaginary artwork, as artwork you made or commissioned, anime style, etc)

As a combination of as real people I imagined, comic book characters, art I made, and cartoon characters (like a banger indie animation).

Teehee it's how I process a lot of things and also I have to fill the world with content I want to see cause no one else is.

Oh I definitely write what I know will amuse me. But I arguably think it's a mixture of both. Sometimes I'll see something or get a response that brings me to write. And it's bangers always.

Surviving As A Maid

Description: When I opened my eyes while cooking ramen, I woke up as the Queen’s maid who was treated coldly by the King in the BL novel where the King was gay, the concubine was gay, the knight was gay, the servant was gay, and the librarian was gay.Will she be able to survive safely after becoming an ordinary maid, Ash, who has no main character buffs?

My review:

I would like to start my review with the fact that I just finished first season (gobbled it all in just one day to be more precise) and although I think the novel already ended I'm too scared to look it up because well - spoilers.

And there is A LOT to be afraid of as "Surviving As A Maid" is fucking amazing manhwa that forced me to wake up from my 'reading 10 manhwas at once as a brain turn off' mindset that I've fallen into after finishing another mind-blowingly good webcomic

Main character is called Ash.

Ash what? You don't know and neither does she.

Although MC shares her appearance in modern world with Ash (as well as certian parts of her personality) the original Ash had a life, friends and feelings towards certian someone - nothing that MC might remember

You see, this is no reincarnation into novel character with all their knowledge on the world nor popping into existence as a new character with no baggade of the past to get a new chance at life (which is usually fault of Truck-kun). No, the MC got rudly kidnapped in the middle of preparing delicious sounding dinner and thrown straight into chaos with no knowledge of her new self and only determination to stay as unnoticalbe as possible and will to survive in this new strange place

All of the characters are multilayered and you could probably write essays on their hidden motivations and what keeps them getting up in the morning (if anyone have any opinions or questions about any of those characters I'll gladly answer those) but especially MC brings something completly fresh into table as an isekaied protagonist

There is always that dissonance between her and all the other "characters" as she slowly struggles with the idea of living in this new world and treating it's inhabitants as real people - but not once does she forget of her place of origin.

Actually one of my favourite quick scenes (outside of everything with prince of course) is MC's first thought after noticing that summer is just around the corner of new world, is that it has to be winter in her homeland.

Another excellent existential horror element is fact that Ash's body is the exact copy of MC's original one which make her confused a lot about her place in universe and where she might be, and after she gets herself something to help her distinguede between those two worlds she keeps it on herself all the time

also this manhwa blessed us with this beautiful shitpost material

also also (and this might be little spoiler for chapters pre 70) if a certian white short haired man turns out to be male lead I might just fucking drop this manhwa, cause author is amazing at writing powerful and impactful scenes and his intruduction certainly made me hate that man with burning passion - and that sudden taking off his cartoon-villain-like fucking monocle that I've noticed author have been doing recently will not change my mind

Anyway this is a great read that I certainly can reccomend, so go read it and then let me know your own opinions

my ideal modern day top cat reboot (not just tc and/or the gang serving as side characters in an ensemble cast in a hanna-barbera crossover cartoon) would be like,

tc and benny are the same as they always are (selfish hedonistic get-rich-quick schemer and his naive childhood bff enabler)

roxy from the scrapped reboot finally gets to join the gang :) she can have jellystone brain's personality since he's not using it. she also has something extremely gay going on with spook

then side characters would be like,

myra and sheldon live in the city and periodically get involved in tc shenanigans! myra is very much so a neurotic worrywart who is constantly freaking out over the ways her twin brother's schemes can backfire. sheldon didnt really have a solid characterization in his book so maybe he can have jellystone fancy's personality?

kitty glitter from top cat and the beverly hills cats can be recurring because i like her <3 to me shes so lupin-iii-sadgirl coded

lola glamour gets to appear now and then and gets to be so annoyingly sappy pda with choo choo. has a lot of mentions and cameos though cuz shes still a star and shes dating choo choo who adores her childhood best friend turned lover <3 <3 <3

dibbles ex-wife periodically shows up and tc hates her soooooo much which is ironic because theyre kind of parallels. foils. the same but different. i would emphasize them being so similar and in fact that she reminded him of tc is why he married her and she does not like that one bit. self indulgent but i really dont care <3

i think they should have two kids (fred and daniel, based on comic dibble's names) just because i think it'd be funny as fuck. am i making him even more like zenigata? sure but my justification is dibble is a little league coach and camp counselor which is stereotypically things dads do to connect with their kids :P

jazz and beau can be recurring antagonists with their own gang that being dark parallels to tc's gang. teehee.

trixie from the first movie can be a recurring character too but only if shes an irredeemable antagonist in jazz's gang. the rest of jazz's gang consists of pantera from top cat begins, rocky from the comics, and skratch gets to exist separate from spook.

i guess griswald could be recurring since he had two eps and in the comics there was a recurring antagonist who was a bulldog but i dont care enough about griswald to expand on that idea

- oh wait he can be the actual cop since dibble is a PI now. duh. he literally became a police dog in one ep so it works.

cop cat from the comics can be griswald's partner although i think he needs a better name than "cop cat" ... maybe fuse him with officer prowler so he gets a cooler name. idk

Lesbian Courtney anon, oh I am sorry about Blaineley x Courtney ship. I didn't mean to say they get to together but more of sisterhood on set of movie plot then they get their own romances like Blanineley with her own oc or another character of her age. And Courtney maybe realizing romance is wonderful, you know what is better? Being herself and having friends/mentors that actually care about her,

I just get upset sometimes that we- some- or even me sometimes make Courtney suffer a lot for the plot or so called the one! For the name of romance but the truth is we forget her agency, her Courtney self from TDI to ALL-Stars, and I think is troubling for a little girl growing up watching that since I watched as a child.

Courtney deserves better with along the other characters.

I love Courtney but I really wished she in canon or lesbian fandom Courtney been treated more better not so seen like villain without arc of growth or just disrespect so often for angst instead we shove Duncan, Gwen, Heather, Scott, and whoever to 'save her' or 'fix her and show who to care/love in general'. I like to think we or Courtney is old enough to just realize I don't need to be pity and saved. I need to grow, heal on my own as well as get comforted by someone who cares and loves me doesn't need to marry me somehow end of the day.

Courtney has a lot of range as a character but hitting Duncan and yelling like him is a no go because it not safe type of love or system to treat people, yet the writers did it as be joke. The joke which is a problem more in society standards of trauma bonding relationships or two teenagers clearly love each other but need more mental health and their parents to put more nurture into them. It shouldn't be funny but sadly this kids' cartoon were farts, throwing up, hitting, and other things are supposed to be silly haha hehe no brain thoughts but come on? Really making Courtney the villain and it states in the Duncan wiki that he is on the creators' favorites like Duncan get arc of grow and oh it's okay he can be loved but nor the crazy ex trope. I think and believe both Duncan and Courtney didn't deserve that as a couple as well as their own characters.

Heck Duncan even loved Courtney being like that with him until they chose to rewrite their characters once more just for the Duncan and Gwen situation to happen which didn't need to happen in my opinion. Because it could be better for plot if Alejandro and Tyler be rivals somehow like Tyler struggling warn the others aa well as help Heather with Alejandro trying use the girls in the plane. Then Alejandro someone blaming all on Tyler as Heather lost her other ally and somewhat male healthy friendship a long the way.

Then Courtney vs. Heather vs. Alejandro for the 3rd season, get my vision? Heather sure wants Alejandro but puts it side with Courtney who was used by Alejandro then they work together to defend him against winning!

Bam it's Heather vs. Courtney but Courtney feels hollow not really in the game in it anymore her relationship with Duncan is more stable or they couldn't save it depends on the fan I guess, her growing friendship with Gwen is rocky since she left and took Gwen out the game, and now she might win! She has that AH moment maybe money not that worth it if the game made her power hungry.

Anyway, that's my code of choice saying Courtney I love you and sorry for being a shitty write on your character at times, and all girls of total drama deserve why better that being connected to a man/boy to make them better.

Shout to lesbians and those who write lesbian Courtney I l0ve you too. But please be better to my girl Courtney... stop dragging Scott and Duncan into it?!

Maybe make Courtney barely out the closet lesbian and her gay roommates who are dating and happened to be her supportive ex boyfriends Scott/Duncan? They can be good friends over time not oh scary evil Exes!

HI!!!! I AM SO SORRY it took me so long to answer you ;__; My bad... I wanted to wait until I could give this ask my Full attention (tbh I've had Team Fortress 2 brain worms for weeks and have been unable to focus on anything GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT).

I'm so glad you like my posts! ;w; In general, I don't think things need to be canon to be worth thinking about & exploring creatively... but buddy? Larry being in love with Tuddrussel? That is IN THE SHOW. I can't stress enough that this HAPPENS in Time Squad. I would venture to say Larry wanting a loving relationship with Tudd and Tudd not giving it to him is a reoccurring theme (along with history and slapstick comedy and. gender roles, weirdly??? tune in for THAT essay later lmao). You may have seen it already, but I compiled a bunch of my favorite TuddLarry moments in a video here! It also includes moments where Something Gay Happens On Screen no matter what characters are involved... I know it's all there for comedy, but for the most part, the gay jokes in TS don't feel like they come from a hateful place to me. Everyone gets made fun of equally in this show... it has that kind of mean-spirited early 2000s humor lol

My absolute favorite underrated TuddLarry canon moment of all time is in A Thrilla At Attila's. In Tudd's fantasy recollection of the mission, Otto and Larry look up to him as a great leader... it's VERY CUTE that Tudd's dream is to be genuinely admired by them 😭 BUT at one point, the fantasy Larry (who is inexplicably wearing a tutu) swoons over Tudd with little hearts over his head while Tudd is fighting some other guy?! THIS IS IN TUDD'S FANTASY HE WISHES THIS WOULD HAPPEN

U know what, I'm gonna take this opportunity to ramble about family commitment as a central theme of the show!!

- Otto is literally adopted by Tudd and Larry (Larry calls it adoption in Kubla Khan't), and Otto's addition to the squad forces their business-only relationship to change. Time Squad is (at least partly) about three very different characters navigating a new family dynamic formed by chance.

- They naturally fall into typical sitcom family roles: Tudd's the manchild fun dad, Larry's the homemaking strict mom, and Otto's the sweet kid who's trying to keep the peace... their personalities clash as they try to live and work and be happy together. It's significant that they're alone on the satellite they live on; with no one else from their own time period around them while they're at home, they're isolated with one another like a family unit in a suburban house. Even though they fight, they grow to love each other over time... what's that thing people say about hate and love being two sides of the same coin? I feel like Larry's love for Tudd manifests as anger a lot of the time—he gets upset whenever Tudd doesn't measure up to his ideal of a domestic partner. Is that healthy? Idk, probably not, but that's the way it is for them (at least in the two seasons that exist 👀).

- Of course, family commitments aren't always harmonious, and for these guys things are chaotic MOST of the time... but no matter what historical figures they meet or temptations they face, at the end of the day, they always come back together. They're a family, it's as simple as that. Otto doesn't need to have a logical reason to turn down George Washington's offer to adopt him in Father Figure of Our Country—no one can replace Tuddrussel, and that's it.

So tl;dr, Time Squad is about two men adopting a child and having a domestic committed relationship, and it uses that setup to tell funny stories and introduce fun conflict !?? And it's all in a cute art style AND there's HISTORY??? Cartoon Network should ABSOLUTELY bring it back and make a new season HEAR MY PLEA

—Of course, I think Tudd and Larry's relationship developing into a romantic (but still wacky) one would be a great setup for such a new season! But that's just my post-canon fantasy ;^) ... and what all my fanart and little writings are about lol

Edit: SHIT I forgot to mention XJ5!! I ADORE the idea they have a crush on Sheila, that's my headcanon too!! BUT instead of being a jerk like Tudd is to Larry, Sheila is only ever considerate and nice and professional and friendly to XJ5 🤲 And XJ5 is so awkward with social situations (a real Robot's Robot) that they have no idea how to approach these feelings or how to articulate them at all... they could use a few lessons in human behavior from Larry hmmm?

What would I change in Galactik Football

Recently, when I decided to rewatch GF, my brain came up with a few ideas that I would like to see in GF. I thought I'd share them and see what other gf fans think about it.

People can use flux in other sports too. it's just weird to me that only football allows you to use flux. What about other sports? I know that Galactik Football, as the name suggests, is about football, but at least one or two mentions of other sports that also use flux would be nice.

Shorter time skips. If I understand correctly, the Galactik Football Cup starts every 4 years. In this case, the characters should look older. Not to mention that 4 years is a long time for people to change. So in my opinion, instead of 4 years, it should start every year and the team that won 3 or more cups are considered the champions.

More backstories Starting with Sonny and his wife. It would be nice if we learned at least a little more about their relationship or at least her name because I don't remember her name ever being mentioned. Norata and Aarch childhood, it would be nice to know what they used to be as kids and why they chose football. How previous Akilians team look like etc

let gay people exist I know it's an old cartoon but jeez Aarch and Artegor's relationship is one of the things I just love and allowing them to be gay is one of my dreams. They literally do Friends to Enemies, Enemies to Lovers story. Even as a child, I knew there was something between them and back then I didn't even know that gays existing!

Artegor health changed after using The Smog for that long. For me, Artegor's full recovery was kinda odd. After all, he used The Smog much longer than Aarch. EVEN AARCH MENTIONED IT I don't know about you guys, but I've always thought of The Smog as a metaphor for cigarettes. And Artegor getting something like asthma (or something similar) . Would be kinda interesting. Just imagine that Artegor now has to change his lifestyle. And it also makes others aware of how harmful The Smog is.

Artegor does not return to The Shadows. After The Smog is back Artegor wants to return to his old team. And he explained that he now knows how to control it. DUDE YOU ALMOST DIE FROM THIS! Instead, Artegor would tell Aarch that he wanted to close one chapter in his life and wanted to coach The Shadows one more time before he quits. Then he could become an assistant Coach for Snow Kids permanently.

A complete change of season 3 I don't think I need to say much, I'm sure most of us don't even consider it canon xD

Who's your comfort characters?

I'll go ahead and start:

All the kids in the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon 1983 (my age 8). All those kids wanted was to get home. It came out around the time of the Satanic Panic. So it only got 3 seasons. The script of what should have happened in the last few episodes is online. Do I prefer the Dungeons and Dragons movies that have been made? Okay the last one was ok, and they gave a nod to the kids in the movie. But I want a cartoon reboot.....today.

Lance from (Voltron) 1986 (and yes, I did not care for the remake of voltron. The original Lance was hotheaded but kind. He had a brain and he knew how to use it before getting his Lion. He was also the edgiest guy on tv at the time. And it was made to look more like Keith got with the Princess, not Lance.

Shatterstar (X-Force) 1991 Deadpool 2 did him so dirty that I now hate Ryan Reynolds with a passion. "I don't think anyone is going to miss Shatterstar, he was kinda a prick". Excuse me? Shatterstar was in comics and on a team before you were even thought of. Plus Deadpools is not impressive in his first runs in comics. I adored Shatterstar. He was an alien in a strange land and had to learn to be more human like. He spent his whole life having to battle in an arena where it was kill or be killed. Oh, he was later on confirmed to be gay. You know what happened next? Left the group to go help his soon to be boyfriend Rictor out. Marvel brought him back after years of him being in comic limbo. Because *now* they like LGBT characters.

Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho) 1992 - If you knew about Yu Yu Hakusho, you knew most people thought Hiei was always the second best at the very least. Newtype voted him the fifth-best male character of the 1990s as a whole. He starts out as a villain than becomes a hero.

Feitan (Hunter x Hunter) (1999) - Feitan is made by the same guy who made Hiei. You can tell he's loosely based on Hiei as well. But Feitan is kinda "what if Hiei was evil, really evil". He barely talks. He also uses bad grammer from time to time. He also speaks an unknown language. And boy can he fight. Err, he also enjoys torture, but feels "sorry for his victims". Yeah, I know, weird comfort character. But I adore him.

Wei Yan (Dynasty warriors 3 and through the rest, even the game sequels I don’t like.) 2001. Wei Yan also speaks oddly. Some would consider him a simpleton. But I no he isn't. He was the one that came out with the plan that stopped Wei. He's based on a historical figure. In a book written 100 years after his time.

Shigraki Tomura (My Hero Academia) (2014) - He is saved, but was a wonderful villain, until he let that stupid doctor get a hold of him.

So what do they all have in common? Every single one is loyal to people they consider family. They all are men of few words. (The kids from D&D don't count.) You don't need them to talk too much though. They're men that show what they're thinking via action, not words. What else? All are physically strong, Except Lance. All are nearly unstoppable once hey put their mind to it. All are physically strong (except Shiggy at the beginning). That's all I can think of. I also noticed that they kinda all start hating the world, except Hiei and Lance. With Shigraki wanting to just destroy it all. I wonder if that shows how little regard I have for society, Hmmm. 1 - Buried Pleasures 03x02, but that’s kind of the obvious answer lol. When I actually first saw a screenshot of them kissing I thought it was Photoshopped, but then I watched and was like “ok wow they did have sapphic kiss realness”. After thinking about it for a bit and watching their season 2/3/4 interactions I kind of had a Jimmy Neutron brain blast moment where I realized how interesting their dynamic is and ALSO!!! Lucy Liu and Calista Flockhart are just both really gorgeous and I’m very very gay.

I could talk about them for hours honestly and essentially the crux of McWoo for me is how they’re more similar to each other than they realize (and sometimes than the writers realize too).

- i dont like the modern daltons cartoon (it kinda sucks) but i really really like how they characterized william in it (bookworm and man of many talents iirc) and i really like the idea of him potentially being a graduate/of higher education but sticking with his brothers out of loyalty/peer pressure (<- potential for him to be the black sheep of his family and give him more character than in the comics and the old cartoons)

this is going to be considerably more hinged because I just straight up haven't seen a lot of the cartoons that Riddleboy has popped up on and generally have less feelings about them; the comics are where I really get crazy get stupid about him. but let's talk about a couple highlights! no ratings, they're all good little bastards.

John Glover (Batman: The Animated Series)

he's not my FAVORITE favorite but like. come on. he's a good little Riddler! he riddles like crazy! and I like BTAS rogues on principle, I love that they can definitely murder people but stay classy about it.

I usually prefer Riddlers who are driven to riddle by a desire to fuck (with) Batman, but I actually REALLY respect that this guy originally just wanted to murder his shitty former boss. that guy sucked and he did deserve to get disemboweled by a mechanical minotaur in an enormous labyrinth that Eddie apparently spent a year building on his own dime!

I'm also kind of indebted to his existence because Eddie in BTAS spinoff comics is just. my favorite little guy. him!

Dave Franco (Young Justice)

I'm gonna keep this quick because there isn't a lot to say: this Riddler kind of sucks but is also pretty much spot-on. like he's irritating but the whole narrative knows he's irritating; sweet baby Dick Grayson seems fucking exhausted the second he shows up and all the other villains at Belle Reve bully him like a bunch of cunty middle schoolers. I'm a simple man; I love when even the other villains want to kill this man on sight. his design also kind of sucks; like there are so many elements here that sort of work but just aren't that remarkable altogether? he looks like he does other bad guys' taxes.

having said all of that I do genuinely adore that in his first episode he's the only guy who manages to break out of Belle Reve during what was planned to be a mass breakout, especially given that the aforementioned bullying would strongly suggest nobody even told him that was going to happen. I love when he's the slippiest boy! escaping things is sort of a riddle; let him have that.

also, hey, I have to say this: it's just. so weird that he's Dave Franco. he's not bad in the role at all but. why.

Jim Rash (Harley Quinn: The Animated Series)

speaking of animated shows that know he's annoying and just roll with it!!

I like the Harley Quinn series quite a lot for a lot of reasons, mainly because it's not precious about the DC mythos and will frequently just do some buckwild shit with very established characters with absolutely zero hesitations. the Riddler is the opposite of that; this show knows exactly why and in what ways he's supposed to be an insufferable little freak and they go for it full throttle. don't love the bald + question mark tattoo look but he's gay so it balances out.

Hasan Minhaj (Batman Unburied)

yeah there's no normal way to explain this one, this version of the Riddler crawled deep inside one of my brain wrinkles and is still sitting there chirping like a cricket. I can't even explain why but if I think about him too long I begin frothing at the mouth. I think about him a profoundly abnormal amount and I feel great about it. he's only in four episodes and managed to rot a hole in my psyche in significantly less than that. I just think he's neat. he's awful. he's pathetic. he's my little meow meow. I don't want anyone to fix him. I'll cry if he gets worse. I want to see him implode. I've said it before and I'll say it again, whatever happens in season 2 of Unburied is going to make me truly unbearable as a human being.

Okay watched through the 6 Episodes of Hailey’s On It...

I don’t think it’s gonna be the ringer for the Owl House shaped hole in my heart. It was a bit of a rollercoaster going through the episodes. Seeing things I like and seeing things I didn’t like, I’ll split a list into the Good and Bad:

The Good:

Amazing animation, really fluid with good action scenes. 

Character design is good, a TON of representation of minorities

The Joke writings not that bad, gave me a lot of chuckles some intentional and some not.

Auli’i Cravalho’s singing is great, they really get the best out of her voice.

COULD be setting up an awesome over arching plot

The Bad:

The romcom love triangle stuff started in the first episode but it died down decently till episode 5a. I’m less scared of it now then when they had it in the trailer but it’s still annoying to me and I know it’s going to get amped up as a huge plot point

No gays yet. Probably isn’t fair for me to criticize it for that, but I NEED my LGBT representation, Owl House didn’t spoil me for what I want to see representation wise, it set a standard for what I personally want to see in every TV show.

Character development is low. 11 minute episodes are to blame of course(even though amphibia worked with it) There’s not much more to Scott other than being a golden retriever brained guy. Not much to Hailey besides the anxiety, they haven’t really even showed her being smart smart, like she’s done some quick thinking but she’s suppose to become a scientist and save the world and we haven’t seen any of that characterization really unfold. She made a ROBOT BODY FOR BETA but we didn’t get to see that on screen. Kristine got introduced and the immediately boiled down to the one bit she had in the first episode being a zoomer that’s too much into social media and Hats. Crazy how she somehow got flanderized in 2 episodes.

They haven’t built the overarching plot much yet. It’s only six episodes in, so there’s still a lot of time but I thought I’d see a little more by now. Drop some hints about the Chaos bots, have the Professor interact with Hailey a little more or give her more items/upgrades.

Last but most important, Fuck that Flamingo. I hate that Flamingo so much. I think it’s going to be the biggest tell that this show isn’t for me, of course it’s just a kids show, and there’s nothing really here for me besides bad fart jokes.

I’ll keep watching and let you know if they do anything remotely on par with Amphibia/Owl House but at this point it’s looking not so good in that direction. Still might just be a cute mindless cartoon at the end of the day though even if it doesn’t pick up into anything greater.

XMENTALITY: X-Men Evolution S01E05 - Speed And Spyke

SUMMARY: Evan Daniels, Storm's nephew, is developing his mutant powers but trying to hide it because he's reluctant to go to the Xavier Institute. He has a strong rivalry with another student at his school in New York City, Pietro Maximoff, who is also a mutant. Pietro sets Evan up for a crime he didn't commit, and is forced to join the institute in exchange for getting out of jail. Meanwhile, Magneto wants to recruit Pietro, so Mystique arranges a basketball game against the two schools, bringing Pietro to Bayville. He and Evan fight with Scott and Jean providing backup, and after winning, Evan is able to prove his innocence and lands Pietro in jail instead. Magneto then breaks him out and adds him to the Brotherhood's list.

Oh boys, I'll tell you right now I was so waiting for this one. It's my second favourite of season 1. And no offence to Spyke, but it's mostly because I absolutely adore Evolution's Quicksilver. He's such a little bitch! And his voice actor is so fucking good, I really truly buy him as a young, bratty Pietro who literally can't slow down.

The thing about Evan in this episode is everyone acts like he's being so unreasonable, when really he's just behaving like a average teenager. Of course he doesn't want to leave his friends and family! Then he's basically BLACKMAILED into joining the institute because it's the only way the Professor will agree to use his powers and get him out of jail... EVEN THOUGH HE AND JEAN CAN READ HIS MIND AND KNOW HE WAS WRONGLY IMPRISONED!

Pietro says he made his own costume, which I gotta ask just the same as I asked with Toad - where did he get the material for those shoulder pads? Personally I think they look pretty dumb, but other than that he has a great character design. Love the lil earring.

Magneto saying "Pietro Maximoff... he is of particular interest to me" is a funny way of saying "yeah he's my son I just dumped off in New York but now that he's useful I need him back." I know this show mostly focuses on what an asshole Mags was to Wanda, but I stand strongly by the fact that he's hardly been a good father to Pietro either.

Last thing I want to say is if this show wasn’t made in an era where gays weren’t allowed to overtly exist in kid-friendly cartoons yet, then Evan and Pietro could’ve ended up as rivals to lovers. And that’s my big brained take.

Hamato Leonardo, also known as Leo (or Nardo, blue guy, Hero boy and Fun-police) is the eldest son of Splinter and the most traditional of his brothers, taking both his training and the prophecy very seriously, studying his families history in detail to please his father and ancestors, to become the ultimate warrior. Due to being the eldest and resembling Splinters younger self, Leo is the golden child and despite him denying it, it’s very clear that Splinter favorites Leo, often training with him, teaching moves and wisdom he would never show his other sons. Due to this, Leo has developed quite the denial and perfectionist complex, in his eyes he always has to be good at everything no matter what while both Splinter and his ancestors teachings/the prophecy can never do anything wrong and should always be followed no matter how wrong they sound - even if it means to hurt those close. 

As the eldest, Leo is also destined to become the deity of the body, gaining powers that strengthen his body and give him abilities like super strength or lightning speed which he has a hard time controlling at first, which frustrates him a lot. While he is very skilled with his swords, the bow and arguably the best fighter on the team when it comes to weaponry, Leo isnt as coordinated when it comes to fighting with only his fists which is a bit unfortunate considering his powers.

Being Leader, Leo is the calm and responsible one, taking missions very seriously and always prepared with a plan though he can get really irritated when his brothers dont immidiatly follow his lead, question his plans (especially Raph whom he gets into fights a lot) and goof around as he really never allows himself to be a kid. However, he is very much a nerd, specifically he’s really into old, awful cartoons and anime even writing self-insert fanfiction about him and his cartoon heroes, whom he tries to imitate a lot, going on adventures (and dates) among other things. Literature was always one of his interests, spending hours reading not only comics but thick books, mostly about space, autobiographies or japanese myths/legends while also occasionally writing poems he comes up with when he meditates. Just like Donnie, Leo is fluent in japanese and watches a lot of his shows in its original language while getting writing lessons from Splinter. Leo’s music taste is also very much influenced by his father, listening to japanese folk songs - though he does have a soft spot for j-pop and Vocaloid.

A few other fun facts about the boy in blue:

He only wears the scarf because the texture of it makes him very comfortable and also because it makes a good cape

Very sensitive tongue, any food texure his tongue doesnt like makes him immidiatly gag

Stims by flapping his hands and sometimes does a happy little jig when he gets excited - he is however very embarressed by it, even telling his brothers to stop doing their own thing (like Raph tapping his feet/ drumming)

Can absolutly not interact with people he’s crushing on, like his brain will enter gay-panic-mode and shut down, thats why he prefers to crush on cartoon characters instead

Really tries to avoid April because she’s nothing but trouble, however she is the first person Leo will go to when he has a problem/secret he cant tell Splinter about

Leo’s favorite brother is Donnie, they often hang out and talk about literature and plans while listening to hyperpop Vocaloid songs, Mickey is his second favorite and while they dont activly hang out together they do occasionally talk about cartoons and Leo does appreciate the hug attacks his younger borther is known to do, Raph and Leo often fight due to their different views on the prophecy, Raph’s overall attidute and disrespect towards his leadership and the family tradition - though when they do get a long its mostly over movies and which fictional character is cooler

Also, once Karai gets recruited into the family, Leo and her hang out constantly, training together and confide in each other - she would definitly help him be less serious and probably give him some dating advice from one gay to the other while talking about the latest shows and whatever horrible anime Karai found on the internet that they will definitly not be obsessed with for at least a week.
