One of my ProxMox hypervisor machines has a failing disk. Of course, it's the disk that stores the root filesystem of my homelab DNS server.

remediated by pulling a backup of running Pi-hole and restoring to the other hypervisor, running from an NVME drive now.

The best thing about running a Pi-hole, besides the whole house ad blocking thing, is the skinnable interface.

Pointless Sunday Geek Accomplishments

Sucessfully get CUPS and the CUPS Admin website running on home server, create shared PDF printer that outputs files to Samba share.

Edit: 11AM printing sequentially named blank pages to shared folder...

Edit 2: 1/2hour later, working from linux, winders can print blank pages...

New home wifi

$14.95, used D-Link DIL-615 from the Red White and Blue. I also picked up a WRTG54G2 for the same price. 

Getting better wifi speeds than the old E1000 with DD-WRT. The D-Link lets you choose your IP configuration, so I didn’t have to renumber my home servers. Looking forward to a Sunday afternoon configuring a replacement router for my favorite Volvo mechanic.
